THEORY-
AUDIENCE
Benjamin Lawrenson
Audience Profile
â–  Primary Audience-
For this film, the primary target audience would most
likely be for teenagers aged 15-24.This would most
likely be aimed at males as is look like a more masculine
film with a guy on the front. This would appeal for this
target audience as there is one character that has two
sides to him, Eddie and venom. This is like trying to
figure out your identity which people that age might be
trying to find out. Also this film would be an escape from
the real world as it is like a different reality to what they
are in now and draws them in.
â–  Secondary Audience-
The secondary audience for this film would most likely
be adults from the age of 25-44.This would be as they
might have to go to the cinema with their child meaning
they would see it too. This would most likely to have be
aimed at the males of this age as it is a bit of a dark film
that men might enjoy more. This would engage this age
range and gender as it is a violent action film which both
the gender and age enjoy. As the colour on the poster is
dark, it might look a bit sinister, hence appealing for this
age.
Audience Profile
â–  Primary Audience-
The primary audience for tis film would most likely be for
children from the age of 0-14.This would be because it is more
of a light hearted film and funny for the younger audience.
Most likely be aimed at males as children of this age and gender
love super hero films. This film would appeal for this age range
as is has brighter colours which will make it look more fun and
friendly for children. Also it might appeal to them as in this film
Spider-Man is 14 year old and is close to the children's age and
might be able to connect and engage with the film better than
an adult aged 44.
â–  Secondary Audience-
The secondary audience for this film would be teenagers aged
15-24.This also would be aimed at males as the main characters
in the film are all males (Spider-Man, Iron Man,Vulture). This
would appeal for this age range as they are also close to the age
of Spider-Man in the film and would be able to connect with it
better. It would also appeal to them as this age ranger really
enjoy action superhero movies. Spider-Man is a famous Marvel
character with many comic books, so this would appeal to the
people of this age range that have been a long time fan.
Audience Profile
â–  Primary Audience-
This film would most likely be aimed at adults from the age of
25-44.This would be because it is a very dark and violent film
which this age would enjoy. This film would most likely be
aimed at males as it was a historical moment of war with a lot
of violence and shooting which males enjoy to watch. I feel that
this age range would appeal to this film as on the poster is
shows war and destruction which shows that it is an action film.
As this film as based on true historical events, I feel that it
would appeal to this age as they might have learnt about it read
about it in a book. So to see it in a film is a visual way to see
what might have happened.
â–  Secondary Audience-
I think that the secondary audience would be middle aged
around 45-64 year old. This would be as they would know about
there heroic events that went on at this place of war against the
Japanese. I feel that males of this age would watch it more as it
is a very violent film and shows lots of death and blood which
this gender would prefer to see. This film would appeal to this
audience as they would want to see how this part of war is
shown out. On the poster there is fire and carnage everywhere
with little amount of colour which will make it look dark and a
bit sinister which the audience most likely likes.
Hypodermic Needle
â–  Definition-
The Hypodermic Needle Model is a method that suggests to the
audience a certain message is told and believed and accepts what
the media tells them
â–  Example-
In many films they all have messages that they want to put across
to the audience. For example, is Disney films they try put across to
kids for what is right and wrong so that they learn and know for
later in life.
Uses and Gratifications
Information
 -For finding out information and the news, I use google and the BBC.This is as they
are specified to give out true facts that will not be misleading in any way. I use
google for this as I can research key things that I may want to know about. I also use
the newspapers to find out different information on the news.
 -If I am seeking advice or help with decision making I use trusted websites that I
know will give me correct advice, for example if I am wanting advice on revision
techniques I may useYouTube to research different techniques. I could also use
magazines that may have any revision techniques.
 -If I can not remember a actors name or a year when a film was released for
example, I use google to research the required thought to satisfy the curiosity that I
am having. I could also satisfy this curiosity by watching the film to find out the
information.
 If I am wanting to learn something, I could read a book about that desired topic. I
could also watch a video onYouTube that will give me information about it. I can
also google any thing that I may want to teach myself.
-
Uses and Gratifications
Personal Identity
 I can reinforce personal values by watching a certainYouTuber that I look
up too. This can think of ideas forYouTube video ideas which I upload for
personal achievements.
 If I start being around or watching someone that has some good personal
traits, I try to gather that trait to try be a bit more like that person. This
builds on my identity and makes me like how I am a bit more.
 I connect a lot with people onYouTube and in movies. For example, I am a
big fan on Spider-man and try sometimes act and dress like the actor
does. This widens my identity and allows me to be and act differently.
Also when watching a specificYouTuber, I try make someYouTube videos
like his as I feel like they are good and I am able to connect with them
better.
Uses and Gratifications
Integration and Social Interaction
 For helping me to identify with others I makeYouTube videos that make content
aimed for people like me. I reply to peoples comments on my video which gets me
interacting and identifying with others.
 For a sense of belonging I am part of a group page on Facebook, this makes me feel
that I am part of something and interacts me with other people. This allows me to
go to events with this grouping.
 The main topic on my works group page is a massive group page that include
everyone that works at that business in a certain area. This allows us to all interact
on a specific topic.
 People use social media and movies as a substitution for real world companionship
as they think it is easier than actual companionship. For example I make youtube
videos as it is easier to meet and give messages across to people.
Uses and Gratifications
Entertainment
 I use movies and games to get me in a sense on escapism. This is a easy way
for people to forget about their problems and to delve them self into a
different place.
 People also can use movies for relaxation. For example they could watch a
comedy or an action film to relax them into a fantasy world. This can also be
used as games, as they make people more relaxed and forget about
everything around them.
 People can also use games and movies for enjoyment. This can be for helping
moods or socialising online with friends on games. This can also be used for
watchingTV such as Netflix and being interested in a certain theme.
Consumer Generated Content
â–  Example-
 YouTube- people upload videos for other to watch and to generate
money
 Instagram- users send their pictures to the app for other users to
see and get likes. Getting rid of their ownership for it.
â–  What are the advantages to media producers? The good thing for
media producers is that it get people uploading things to their data
bases .
â–  Why would the audience generate content? For example with
Instagram andYouTube, without people uploading videos and
pictures, there would be no use for the app.

Theory audience

  • 2. Audience Profile â–  Primary Audience- For this film, the primary target audience would most likely be for teenagers aged 15-24.This would most likely be aimed at males as is look like a more masculine film with a guy on the front. This would appeal for this target audience as there is one character that has two sides to him, Eddie and venom. This is like trying to figure out your identity which people that age might be trying to find out. Also this film would be an escape from the real world as it is like a different reality to what they are in now and draws them in. â–  Secondary Audience- The secondary audience for this film would most likely be adults from the age of 25-44.This would be as they might have to go to the cinema with their child meaning they would see it too. This would most likely to have be aimed at the males of this age as it is a bit of a dark film that men might enjoy more. This would engage this age range and gender as it is a violent action film which both the gender and age enjoy. As the colour on the poster is dark, it might look a bit sinister, hence appealing for this age.
  • 3. Audience Profile â–  Primary Audience- The primary audience for tis film would most likely be for children from the age of 0-14.This would be because it is more of a light hearted film and funny for the younger audience. Most likely be aimed at males as children of this age and gender love super hero films. This film would appeal for this age range as is has brighter colours which will make it look more fun and friendly for children. Also it might appeal to them as in this film Spider-Man is 14 year old and is close to the children's age and might be able to connect and engage with the film better than an adult aged 44. â–  Secondary Audience- The secondary audience for this film would be teenagers aged 15-24.This also would be aimed at males as the main characters in the film are all males (Spider-Man, Iron Man,Vulture). This would appeal for this age range as they are also close to the age of Spider-Man in the film and would be able to connect with it better. It would also appeal to them as this age ranger really enjoy action superhero movies. Spider-Man is a famous Marvel character with many comic books, so this would appeal to the people of this age range that have been a long time fan.
  • 4. Audience Profile â–  Primary Audience- This film would most likely be aimed at adults from the age of 25-44.This would be because it is a very dark and violent film which this age would enjoy. This film would most likely be aimed at males as it was a historical moment of war with a lot of violence and shooting which males enjoy to watch. I feel that this age range would appeal to this film as on the poster is shows war and destruction which shows that it is an action film. As this film as based on true historical events, I feel that it would appeal to this age as they might have learnt about it read about it in a book. So to see it in a film is a visual way to see what might have happened. â–  Secondary Audience- I think that the secondary audience would be middle aged around 45-64 year old. This would be as they would know about there heroic events that went on at this place of war against the Japanese. I feel that males of this age would watch it more as it is a very violent film and shows lots of death and blood which this gender would prefer to see. This film would appeal to this audience as they would want to see how this part of war is shown out. On the poster there is fire and carnage everywhere with little amount of colour which will make it look dark and a bit sinister which the audience most likely likes.
