Today I carried on working on and finished my contextual section. firstly I went back and

Today I carried on working on and finished my contextual section. firstly I went back and
acted on my reflections from the first day and added and took away any information
about Rudy Mancuso, discussing my reasoning behind why he has inspired me to make
this product and how his work has had an impact on it. Next I started looking at the
video on YouTube where someone used a heavy amount of rotoscoping on a music
video. This was the video that inspired me to decided to use rotoscoping on my video,
along with my previous documentary where is used rotoscoping in a scene. The last
section of my work looked at green screening. This is a unique effect, like rotoscoping,
that I have decided to include. I used a video by Rudy Mancuso for inspiration where he
uses the green screen to transport his character to different locations. This is a quick
process that allows me to film inside and have my characters wherever I want or have
different characters in the same scene easier. I finished the power point of with detailing

How do you feel about how this work has gone? (Remember, be specific and

I feel that today work has gone well. This is because I used previous reflections to go
back and improve my work from the previous day while finishing the powerpoint. Firstly,
I think its good that I looked back on my last work, this allowed me to improve on what I
wish to have done better. In terms of more work that I have done today, I feel that I
have managed to do allot. I got to look at the two main effects, rotoscoping and green
screening, that I will be using.
What were the main successes in the work? (why were they successful? etc)

The main successes in the work I have done today is that I improved and finished my
context. For example, exploring and explaining the effects that I will use has given lots of
context to why I have chosen to do them. Secondly, Rudy Mancuso brings more context
to what is inspiring me to do this product. This was successful due to the content and
insight into being the different types of videos and the styles that he portrays
them

What were the elements that were less successful or you had difficulty with?

Although I managed to get lots of context of why I wanted to do this product by looking
into the effects that I play to use, I feel like I could have spent more time and looked
more in-depth into more context about them. I also feel like I could have found more
information about Rudy Mancuso but as he is a YouTube and only made a few videos
similar to the product I am wanting to make, its hard to find information of the context
behind his videos. when looking into him, it doesn't say much about the context and
reasoning behind it, also the style and technical side.
What else could you have done to expand the work, improve the work, etc?

I could have expanded todays work by trying to use different ways such as google books
and wikipedia to find information about the special effects that I plan to use. I could
have done this by seeing if anyone had written any books abut them explaining the use
of it. These would give more context and hopefully explain why people choose to use
them in their work.
Action Plan - what is the next step for the project? It could be linked to the
activities discussed, maybe fixing something, or moving on to another task.

The next step for the project is to create my proposal. This step will give more of a
understanding of what I actually want to use this contextual information for so I can see
what I will try and make. This stage will get me thinking about what I will create in
detail, looking at the rational, concepts and how I will evaluate it. Finally, this stage will
set out the plan of what I need to do to in the future so I have a step by step plan.
