2. Audience Profile
• Primary Audience –
– Males or females of about 18
to 30. This would appeal to
these specifications because
it’s a horror movie and the
things going on in the movie
(politics) may interest them.
• Secondary Audience
– Females of 15 to 26. This
would appeal to these
specifications because the
characters in the movie and
the costumes may inspire them
and may appeal to them, giving
them ideas.
3. Audience Profile
• Primary Audience
– Females from ages 4 to 12. This
would appeal to them because
princesses are the main role and
girls in this age bracket may take
inspiration. Also a woman is a
strong role in this movie, making it
more likeable to the younger
audience.
• Secondary Audience
– Males of 18 to 28. This may
appeal to them because of the two
male leads in the movie and the
relationship with them with Elsa
and Anna. Also this may inspire
them to carry on the franchise
with their own theories and
creating videos or fan-art.
4. Audience Profile
• Primary Audience
– Females aged 15 to 20. The strong
female leads in this tv series may
influence young girls within this
age. Also the drama involved
within this series could entice
viewers to watch more. Also this
may inspire them to carry on the
franchise with their own theories
and creating videos or fan-art.
• Secondary Audience
– Males of age 28-30+. This may
appeal to someone as again, the
drama aspect of this series may
entice viewers to get into the show
and watch it more.
5. Hypodermic Needle
• Definition
– The hypodermic needle allows us to reflect upon the
medias influence upon the public, forming collective
opinions and beliefs. This suggests the audience will
just accept what is presented to us in the media.
Instead, we are more likely to make rational
judgements based on our own experiences.
• Example
– The 1938 radio broadcast of War of the Worlds had a
section of the show set as a news show reporting on
an alien invasion. This caused the American audiences
to panic believing the invasion to be real
6. Uses and Gratifications
Information
I use BBC news to find out information and learn
about social incidents, keeping up with the
things that are happening around us.
I also use many social medias such as Instagram
and YouTube to get ideas to create my own
content on platforms, learning new ways to
make new content in a way.
7. Uses and Gratifications Personal
Identity
I like to watch Chase Atlantic music videos as
they make me feel differently and feel like I
relate to the lyrics in a way and the stuff that is
going on in the music video.
8. Uses and Gratifications Integration
and Social Interaction
I use Instagram to socialise and make friends
who are interested in the same things that I am
interested in. Whilst making friends in the same
fandom, this kind of makes me feel like I belong
there and it creates topics for conversations. I
feel like Instagram is a great substitute for a real
world relationship/companionship.
9. Uses and Gratifications
Entertainment
Media can be a great escape for people, and
social medias promote that as using them is a
great way to collect ideas and also satisfy
boredom and can relax more. I find that
following my favourite artists and YouTubers and
watching the creative edits that members of the
fandom make for them is quite boredom
relieving and creates an escape almost.
10. Consumer Generated Content
• Example.
– An example of Consumer Generated Content is fan-art, fan-edits
and fanfiction.
• What are the advantages to media producers?
– An advantage to the media producers is that its showing what
the fans want and that they can add this and make the fans feel
like they have taken part of the whole creation.
• Why would the audience generate content?
– the audience may generate content to carry on the franchise
and make it there own with the people they like together or a
plot that they want to add. Some viewers write fanfictions to do
these types of things.
