 Speed increased to 2mbps.
 Video calling and TV streaming.

1. Intra BTS handover
2. Intra-BSC handover

According to frequency :
 Hard handover (break before make)

RF Survey & RF
Planning
RF Survey : It is a process of identifying
the cell site location or feasibility of cell site
location & to get the basic knowledge of the site.
It is of 2 types :
1. Anchor Survey
a)Nominal survey
b)Blind survey
2.Sharing Survey
Tools Used For Survey :
i) GPS ii) Magnetic Compass iii) Digital Camera
v) Site Data / Reference latitude/ longitude
vi) Stationary
vii) R.F. Form
iv) Measuring Tape:

RF Planning :
The three steps are as follows
STEP 1:- PREPLANNING OF NETWORK
STEP 2:-SURVEY
STEP 3:-POST PLANNING OF NETWORK
Preplanning of network :
• In Preplanning of a network, sites are established on
the map in the software without taking into
consideration the feasibility of the sites.
Open the ATOLL SOFTWARE and select the 3GPP MULTI-RAT.
Place the sites 0-5 of GSM UMTS and LTE.
Select an antenna and open the properties dialogue box
appears.
Now define the neighbours ( intra-technology , GSM and
UMTS ) of each antenna.
Now provide the coverage using signal level.
POST PLANNING :
In post planning of the network the site is moved to the actual feasible location, all the
parameters are adjusted to give coverage to the targeted location in this case telcocrats
technologies as shown in the pictures.
Change the angles of the antennas.
Now define the neighbours of all the antennas.
Now calculate the coverage of sites by signal level.
