The document provides feedback on different fonts for a gothic/medieval magazine project. It evaluates the Imagine FX, EDGE, and BIG CHEESE fonts in 3 paragraphs, noting pros of each like readability against background colors. The next section mixes elements of Imagine FX and EDGE for the title. It also recommends BIG CHEESE due to boldness, keeping interest, and fitting the horror/dark theme. Further sections analyze style elements of provided images and notes colors, fonts, and layout ideas that could be adopted.
2. Style sheet
The Imagine FX font is great
because it is easy to see and
stands out well on the
gothic background colours (
which is more of a medieval
mystery action type thing)
however it looks like a
mixture of Calibri and
roman times fonts.
The EDGE font is good
because it is bold easy to see
and isn’t obstructed it also
blends in well with the colours
in the background, also a very
gothic setting but in a more
medieval setting not horror(
so action, adventure type
thing).
The BIG CHEESE font is good
because it uses creativity to its
advantage by turning around
letters and putting them in
different areas to the rest of
the title it also stands out well
on the background which I
would say were gothic but
they are more horror vampiric
colours.
3. Style sheet
I would like to use these two styles as they are very
similar to what I want to do which is to create
something bold that resembles knightly sort of
presence. To the front of my magazine as my front
picture will be gothic but more horror colours instead
of greys and blacks. However I do prefer the Imagine
FX title due to the mixture of fonts however it is easy
to see and read the Edge font so I will try and mix the
two different types of font to make it interesting but at
the same time easy to ride.
The big cheese has a good title
because it keeps people interested and
it is also bold and so it is easy to read
as-well it also has the same sort of
background colours I am going for as it
is very moody, DOOM stricken and just
very dark in general making it better
for the audience I aimed the magazine
at and it would also go for the sort of
horror setting I need in my magazine
so this very good for my actual project.
4. Style Sheet
• The colours are dark because of the
time the drawing was set in medieval
era except for there are a few light
colors in the top left hand corner and
the writing is predominantly white in
the dark areas and in the light areas it is
black writing. The fonts are a mixture
between some sort of Fantasy font and
Calibri. The style for the image here is
that it looks almost completely drawn
which gives it a certain look of
professionalism and they then also
changed up the fonts a bit so it seems
as if they had put a lot of effort into the
piece. I believe that it looks good
because of the picture and the
positioning of the text is good and I
may use some of the ideas
5. Style Sheet
• The colors are mainly dark due to it’s
setting again and there are only a few
light colours being cream and yellow
and the dark colours being black and
grey, the writing is mainly in white and
yellow due to the dark background
however there is some black writing on
a yellow circle to draw attention to it.
The main font is Calibri again and then
there is a mirror’s edge sort of font for
the title. The style of the image was
definitely taken from the game trailer
and so it looks very odd on a monitor
however the layout of the writing is
good because of the title at the top and
it gives you what it covers at the
bottom. I would use the layout design
from this because it is set out really
well.
6. Style Sheet
• The colors are all dark because
the group being covered is a rock
and roll group and also
sometimes play metal music and
almost all the writing is mainly in
light colours such as white yellow
and a bright red however the
main color is black in the piece.
The fonts are Calibri, a cartoon
font and the Asking Alexandria
font. The image style is set out
well with the band in the middle,
the news is in front of them and
the title is behind them. I believe
I would like to use the layers to
make it look as if it belonged on
the page whatever I put on the
front page.
