3. GENRE & AUDIENCE.
The Genre of this magazine is Hip-Hop, I know this because
of the artists featured on the magazine are all related to
hip-hop/rap.
The target audience are Teenagers and Young Adults (aged
16 – 25), Both Male and Female, because of the language
used in most of the songs and also a lot of the artists
featured are between 16-25.
The audience is attracted to the magazine because it’s all
artists that the target audience listen to.
4. IMAGE
The main image Is of Schoolboy Q, Joey Bada$$, Ab-soul,
Kirko Bangz, Action Bronson, Travi$ Scott, Trinidad
Jame$, Dizzy Wright, Angel Haze and Logic, who are all
artists in the XXL Freshman Class 2013.
The image relates to the music genre because these are
artists who make hip-hop/’hip-hop related’ music.
The image is a long shot, it includes all the artists, they are
all different poses showing that they are different from
each other, they all are wearing different clothes showing
a difference between them.

There are various colours in the image, each artist is
wearing different clothes with many patterns and designs
on there, the background is a dark wall which makes the
bright colours stand out even more.
6. TEXT
XXL WORLDWIDE is the title of the magazine, ‘WORLDWIDE’
would mean the content of the magazine is directed to
young adults across the world, also XXL which is quite
big could relate to how the artist has blown up, like it’s a
big thing.
The Font of the title is Bold, the colour is white and the size
is large, the font is very blocky, being quite large it draws
in the audience.
The title is at the top left surrounded in a red box, which
then becomes the brand, the kicker is In the lower third of
the page, attracting the audience.
7. TEXT
The use of the term ‘FRESHMAN’ is American dialect, all
artists featured are all from America, the effect it has with
using the word best.. ‘BEST FRESHMAN’ draws in the
audience to the magazine.
