2. When creating my magazine I have aimed to represent teenagers and young adults who are fans of
electronic/house music. On the cover page of my magazine I have showed and representedthe
fans within this genre as ‘all about the music’. Within my front cover the model I have used is a
male and who is wearing dark colouredclothes which then links in the with the dark side to the
music and the ideologyof being young, rebelling and owning a dark side to yourself. Because I
have used a male model this then links in with the ideologyof the genre of dance music that most
listeners are male. The model used is also dressed in modern clothes; this representsthe fans
reading the magazineas also being modern and fashionable within society.
3. When creating all the pages of my magazineI have decidedto look and base parts of
my magazine from the successful magazineof Mixmag. Mixmag uses an informative
mode of address;I have then used this within my magazineas it will help to attractthe
same type of audience. Within the contentspage I have also used slang and formal
languagesuch as ‘Grab a holiday to ibiza’and ‘tunes of the year’. This languagewill
help to associate with a younger audience and then attract the original target audience.
4. My magazineis aimed at both genders as it is filledwith things for both male and
female artists loved by both genders. The music genre for my magazineto cover is the
genre of dance/electronic/housemusic. The magazinecontent is mainly focused
around what my target audience wants, such as interviews with big artists, reviews of
music albums and the latest dance singles and then also festivalsand concerts. My
magazineresearch shows that the most popular music genre for males 16-25 is
dance/housemusic. This why I have then used language, images and colours to all
help attract and representthis young male target audience.
