really appealing and eye catching. Also, I
really like the layout of this
magazine, because it shows that there’s a
lot of content inside the magazine.
Another reason, is that the target
audience are able to see the model very
clearly, which helps to see which kind of
genre this magazine is.
•From looking at this magazine cover, I can
tell that it is for younger readers and
provides in-depth coverage of music, as
you can see from the magazine cover.
• The content of this type of magazine
(rolling stone) is broad and varied, from
celebrity highlights, reviews of films and
songs, to interviews with the hottest
singers and actors as well as material
about underground and up-and-coming
artists.
•The genre of this magazine is rock. This is
because, Rolling Stone magazines are

Under The Radar is a indie
magazine. These type of
magazines usually tend to base
their genre on
Acoustic, Alternative, Americana,
Avantgarde, Electronic/Dance/DJ, Folk,
HipHop/Rap, Pop, Punk, Rock, Singer/
Songwriter, and Soul. From
looking at this magazine, the
music genre that it is based on is
soul/rock/acoustic. This is because
of the use of colours used (eg red
and black) which help recognise
the genre.

4. Rock
I have chosen to base my music magazine on the genre
'Rock'. I like this particular genre, because it is a popular
music genre and the most listened to by the younger
generation as well as the older generation. The two main
elements of Rock are the use of bright colours and
props, such as, a guitar. Lots of people from the younger
and older generation would want to buy my music
magazine, because it a very commonly known music
genre, it has also developed throughout the years, by
bringing in new artists who have a complete different edge
when they sing. Also, I think it would be a good genre to
base on my music magazine, because I am able to use
lots of colour, images, big and bold texts etc. which can
easily relate to the genre and for the target audience to
quickly recognise and without them getting confused with
any other genres.
