Instrument and Data collection
• Student took Iowa Test of Basic Skills
(ITBS) as a posttest. The achievement
tests were administered under normal
standardized procedures.
• There were no systematic difference
appears.
INSTRUMENT AND
DATA COLLECTION
The interviews were
face to face
meetings between
trained interviews
and all subjects in
their classroom.
They conducted the
interviews as
informal
discussions
between teachers
concerning
perceptions of their
experiences.
How prepared did you feel as a teacher when you
started your job?
• I did not feel very prepared. O course,
no one ever eels truly prepared.
• Not too prepared, but not because of
the program I was in – it’s just the
nature of teaching.
• I had all the theories for teaching,
but lacked any real classroom
experience in my undergraduate
program.
• I did not know how to control
behavior
• I did not know how to write lesson
plan.
• Very shaky I don’t think I would
have made it without my mentor.
