1. What have you learned from
your audience feedback?
By Tegan Free
2. What positive comments have your peers,
teachers, focus group had about your music
video?
Positive comments from the focus group/peers:
-Good syncing of the video with the singing - Sam
-Good use time lapses - Danni
-Liked the settings used in the music video -Kirstie
-Variation of different scenes but showed time passing nicely - Georgia
-Visuals correspond with lyrics an example being the OTS shot of the book for Peter Pan
and when the lyrics said peter pan as Wendy turned the cover over to show it saying
Peter Pan – Sam
Positive comments from teachers: - Mr Joyce said it was well edited and he enjoyed it.
4. What negative comments were made by your
peers, teachers or focus group?
Liz and Josh in studio didn’t fit with forest feel – if
choreography had been shot in the forest, then it would have
made the video link together better and run more smoothly.
Lighting a bit too harsh in the studio - give it a better feel. -
Kirstie
5. How those comments might change the way you
work in the future as a group or individual?
These comments made me think more about how I could stage it next
time, as I want to be able to create an entire fantasy feel for people and
why some may disagree and like the dance studio, I will strive to make it fit
better, if we had better weather and the forest was dryer maybe
choreography could have been achieved but as the ground wasn’t suitable
and we did not want our cast at risk we decided against it.
Next time, if I do another project like this, I need to plan thoroughly things
like setting, lighting and how capable we are of doing things with the cast
depending on the setting.
6. What the comments taught you about the
process of producing and editing a music
video?
The comments have boosted my confidence in my editing, I am a perfectionist
so to hear praise about the difficult cuts or the parts I wasn’t sure about making
the audience happy or adding to their enjoyment of the video overall made me
more confident. Especially those about syncing as that is probably one of the
most difficult things to get right when editing the music video. When producing
and directing the music video, organising people to help shoot, getting the cast
all on one day to shoot and reshooting shots that didn’t go as well was probably
the thing I found most difficult as I’m better at post-production but with my skill
from previous work like my AS, I managed to get it all done and get the shots
needed for my music video.
