In my research of techniques I found a
few post production ideas that turned
out useful and I used them, such as
the 3d/glitch affect and slow motion.
These turned out to work very well
within my music video.
My research into other music videos helped me come
up with an idea for mine my self, after watching
multiple videos and working out the meaning I slowly
pieced what I wanted to say and do for my video, I
could of gone more into depth and explored another
genre or style of video/music to improve and show the
differences clearly, this would have made me maybe
think more about my work and what it means.

4. RESEARCH
As you can see, my research led
to this final idea, although most
of the things I had come up with
went into my video there are
some little things I didn’t do
because it just wouldn't’t of
suited the genre of music, this
are the projector idea onto the
face of the singer also there was
no fill light behind the subject in
the singing parts. I didn’t do
thee two things because after
reviewing more videos and
planning out my shots they just
didn’t sit the rest of the video.

5. PLANNING
My planning helped me out a lot when filming as I knew where and
when I was filming also had a good idea of what I was filming, this
helped make sure it all went smoothly and was quick. Although I
did not film enough and did have to go out to get more footage this
could reflect in poor planning gas I didn’t plan some shots i
needed. fi had of planned these shots more work would have been
done faster. Most locations went to plan and I used them as I said I
would.
My story bored turned out to be quite bad, it didn’t

Help much apart from knowing the kind of idea I
had, if I had Taken more time in planning out my
story bored i think the Filming would of gone a lot
smoother because i would have had A better
understanding what I was filming.
My shot list on the other hand
helped a lot with where to go and
made sure
I had the right location for the right
time, there wasn’t enough shots in
there but

6. TIME MANAGEMENT
Over all my time management has been good, I
finished everything before the deadline giving
me time to catch up on work and proof read all
my stuff making it to the best of my ability.
I think if I did have more time my video would
of improved in location and people/actors as I
had to find somewhere close and people
availible to help me asap. I also think if I had
more time I would have been able to get more
footage and to contrast with the footage I
already got, this would of made my video a lot
better because there would have been way
more angels making it more appealing and
intresting for people to watch.

7. TECHNICAL QUALITIES -
CAMERA
The camera shots I had planned I
did do, this is a picture I found on
google and the shot after is a screen
grab from my idea, you can clearly
see similarities besides the shot
type.
There was less smoke as it made the
video just look faded and poor
quality, but the dark room made the
video have a sad feel and fit the
lyrics really well.
The way I set up these shots
was with a black back drop on
a left and a right of my living
room, I then sat my singer into
the corner of these back drops.
This gave me a real nice back
ground and I used the two
lines of back drops to guide
some of my angles which
helped a lot.

8. TECHNICAL QUALITIES -
CAMERAThe lighting within the
singing shots I used a light
stand with a reflective
umbrella attached to create
a softer light, this was
placed around 2 meters
away from the subject and
I also hung a town around
eye level of the sitting
subject in front of the light
to create a darker tone, I
think this work well with
the lyrics and made the
video have more feeling in
the look.
Besides the singer I had some wild
editing within the beat drops, on every
beat there is a single frame that zooms
in 0.15 and this makes it look like the
beat makes the video bounce, I did this
to get rid of extra space and it makes
the video look more intresting.
I also have a lot of reflections, spins,
rotations, flips and the rgb colors have
been separated to create the 3d visual
effect. This works really well because it
gives a contrast to the dark parts of the
video and creates a different mood, also
looks very artistic and fits the theme of
the genre well.

9. TECHNICAL QUALITIES –
EDITING/POSTIn post I added a lot of edits
and effects, the main one being
this 3d look I had planned to
use, it was quite simple to do
and I also dimmed it down abit
so it was less bright and u
could still see the image clearly,
these shots where used on beat
drops and things to separate
the slow music o the fast.
There was also a lot of
reflections and transitions like I
had planned on doing. I wish I
had took more time on these
parts as some parts the colours
don’t match up perfect but
within the time I had I think it
I created the 3d effect i
separated the rgb colors
and then moved and
enlarged the three
colours on top of the old
one making the 3d
effect.

10. TECHNICAL QUALITIES –
EDITING/POST
Here are the 3 most used effects
in my video, the forward rotation,
the 360 spin and the rgb colour
fade/3d effect.
I think these 3 things look
amazing on the beat drop, the
fast paste music and beat goes
really well with the music but with
more time to edit I could of
sorted out so there was no black
space on the spin and also the
movements when better with the
flow and beats of the music.

11. AESTHETIC QUALITIES
I personally think my work was creative and looked good, I loved
when the beat dropped and the visuals went all insane and things
but I would of liked to took more time on them, made them flow
better with the beats and make it spin faster and slower and
things, I would of also loved to try out some better transitions
too.
I also love the quite frame zoom on every beat throughout the
video, I think this makes it look really cool and gets attention.
Some parts of the video was a little dark and things but they
wasn’t long periods of time, the singer also got repetative and I
could of done with mixing up the angles within these parts a
little more( drawing the eyes around more).

12. AUDIENCE APPEAL
My target audience is around early teens to adults (15-23) I
would say.
There strong language and dark feel to the music connotes the
same age range, but in my video there is a lot of older female
legs which kind of goes towards the male target.
Personally I think that my idea style fits well with already existing
videos with in this genre and audience of the music, I think this
because its quite dark and artistic and has a real good and bad
feeling with the beat and video.

What did you like about the product?
The music video was very artistic and creative, and I loved the style it
was edited in. The beat drops was very colourful and added a great
contrast to the lip syncs.
What improvements could have been made to the product?
Some of the lip sync was ever so slightly not in sync and the
footage got quite boring, maybe you could have added a more
verity of locations and angles within these sections of the
video.

What did you like about the product?
I liked the effects and visuals and especially on the beat
drops. I felt that the style of editing fit the type f song and
the scenes were very appropriate of the song

The scenes of the guy could have been a better colour an
less grainy, there could have been more black and white in
the black room for better contrast and also there could of
done with a bit of relation between the lad and lass.

The entirety mood behind the video is good and fits
really well, colouring is fitting with the beat well also and
the transitions suit the speed of the song.

product?
Could do with more visuals and different angles and
locations to create a wider spread of things in the video,
also maybe a little more colour within the video.

What do you agree with from your peer feedback?
I agree with quite a lot of the feedback about how there
could have been more visuals and it gets repetitive.
There could of done with more relation between the boy
and girl.
What do you disagree with from your peer feedback?
I disagree with that my video is in need with more colour
because I chose the colour grade to fit with the mood of
the song.

Over all my feedback was very constructive and there were
some really good points that I hadn't of noticed like the grain
within the video and some of the song was out of sync, other
than that it was real good and helpful and there was lot of
good feedback proving I hit the right target audience .
