How Far Was Germany Responsible For The First World War
In this essay, I would like to try and explain in my opinion which country is the most responsible
for the First World War. I have arranged them by putting the country which is the most responsible
at the top and the least responsible at the bottom. 1)Germany (Most Responsible) I feel that
Germany is the most responsible for starting the First World War for many reasons. Firstly I would
like to begin from the start when Bismarck united all the small kingdoms into one empire. During
that, on the other side of the English Channel, Britain was a powerful empire. During that, Britain
controlled over ВЅ of the world and an enormous trading system. After looking and comparing with
Britain, the Kaiser and the Germans became jealous. Although the... Show more content on

As the Boers won the first war and then Britain won the second one, Germany tried backing the
Boers by helping. The British did not like the way the Germans were backing the Boers so they
decided not to be friends with the Germans and decided to look for another friendly nation in
Europe. After the Boer War, the Kaiser kept provoking the British. There was the Naval Arms
Race when the British launched the Dreadnought Class ships. As the Germans had many
shipyards on the East side of Denmark, they built the Kiel Canal so they can transport the
finished warships to the West and that was a type of threat to Britain. Another threat in the Naval
Arms Race was they provoked Britain by building similar Dreadnought Class ships. The Germans
were very quick at building them but then they stopped a few years later and Britain had built
more warships than Germany. There was also the risk theory where the Germans believed that by
expanding their navy, the British would think it would be too risky to fight the German Navy.
That was a little threat to Britain as well. Britain also used the two power standard where its navy
had to be bigger than the second and third

Nuclear Energy As An Alternative Power Source
Nuclear Powered Vehicles
Does an energy source such as nuclear energy have the potential to change the way Americans,
and the world for that matter, move from place to place? This technology is very tempting,
although it is extremely expensive; the long lasting benefits are remarkable. This technology may
seem revolutionary, but it is still in the beginning stages. Many people would question the thought
of stepping foot in a nuclear vehicle. Could this plan of nuclear energy in vehicles put Americans
at more risk than it is worth? The idea of using nuclear energy is not a new doctrine, yet it still
seems to raise some questions. The concept of using nuclear energy as an alternative power source
is becoming drastically evident in the U.S. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even if the reactor would fit in the car, the amount of nuclear radiation given off would require
several tons of steel to protect the driver. Needless to say, the concept car never caught on.
Even though, throughout the 50s and 60s, several companies tried their hand at producing a
nuclear powered car, none of them were ever successful. Over the last sixty years, no one has
ever been able to build a fully functioning car powered by only nuclear energy (Sebastian). A
nuclear car may not have been feasible in the 60s, but the military had a limited number of
nuclear powered ships. The N.S. Savannah was one of the few nuclear powered ships that the
U.S. owned; the idea of these ships never caught on. The ships released small traces of nuclear
waste into the ocean and the idea of radiation in the ocean made many people uneasy (Sebastian).
In the 60s, the U.S. military possessed nuclear ships such as ice breakers and destroyers; once
these ships went out of commission, they were no longer made, and the nuclear energy age ended
as fast as it had begun in America.
The idea behind powering something using nuclear technology is fairly easy; the problem is what
to do with the radiation produced from the reaction. The vehicle is powered by the extremely slow
decay of an element such as thorium or uranium, which produces heat and causes steam. This steam
is used to spin a turbine engine and create electricity to power

How Does Soda Affect Our Teeth
People who drink 3 or more glasses of soda each day have 62% more tooth decay, fillings and
tooth loss than others. This means that soda has a huge effect on your teeth. We didn t always have
a tooth brush to keep our teeth clean. But now thanks to dental advancements we do. Teeth have
been the same way since the human race has started.even when it s unflavored, fizzy water contains
an acid carbonic acid that gives it its bubbles. That acidity can gradually wear away tooth enamel.
Fizzy water is also in soda meaning that the carbonation in the soda wears away the tooth
enamel. The bacteriacontained in the plaque feeds on the sugar in foods you eat or drink. Acids are

Florida Fish Problems
The influence of the Gulf of Mexico and the Gulfstream in Southwest Florida Waters make the
temperature just right for literally hundreds of different kinds of fish. In 2011, Florida s recreational
anglers caught roughly 121 million marine fish, 74 million of which were released. These statistics
support the notion that fishingmay be one of the most loved hobbies. Since fishing efforts have
been drastically increasing over the years, dozens of species are threatened with extinction and
many more are experiencing serious population declines. In order to ensure that a fishs populations
will remain sustainable for future generations, anglers need regulations that will sustain the
existence of a fish population.
In 1999, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, or FWC, was funded in order to
manage and regulate Florida s fish and wildlife resources. Their mission was To manage fish...

The Collier County Health Department has confirmed that all of these pollutants are present in

Pollution is a silent killer, because it takes expensive sampling and measurement to determine its

are very real. Even if a fish was caught offshore or down south in the 10,000 Islands it may have

Summary Of Coach Lombatte Speech
I will be analyzing a speech given by coach Vincent T. Lombardi. Coach Lombardi is widely
considered one of the greatest coaches of all time as well as one of the most influential voices in
sports history. The speech by coach Lombardi that I will be analyzing is called What it Takes to
be Number One. I will begin my analysis by introducing the background information of the speech
and the speaker. Then, I will describe the occasion of the speech in order to describe its
significance. Finally, I will analyze the rhetorical technique used by coach Lombardi to deliver a
speech that left an impression that still impacts.
The speech was given by Lombardi in 1970, the same year that he passed away and only one short
year before he was inducted into ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main way that Lombardi created such an influential speech was through his style and
invention of arguments. Coach Lombardi used a style in his speech that made everything very
clear to the audience. His speech was very casual and used language that, although powerful and
moving, was easily understood by anyone who listened to the speech. This allowed his speech
to connect with a much wider audience than football players, fans, or reporters. Still, today, this
speech is easily understood but conveys the powerful message that anything is possible through
hard work. It is so well known, that it is used on motivational posters today. Furthermore, apart
from the simplistic, powerful style, Lombardi uses a type of invention for his arguments that
makes his perspective very clear to see. For example, he argues that a football player must play
in his entirety in order to be successful. He begins this argument by saying, he s got to play from
the ground up from the soles of his feet right up to his head. He then emphasizes this point another
time by saying that every inch of him has to play. He then introduces the counter perspective that
Some guys play with their heads. He says that this is good because you need to be smart to be the
best. However, he says that the most important thing is that you play with your heart, with every
fiber of your body. This

Wallace Stevens a well known American poet once said, In poetry, you must love the words, the
ideas and the images and rhythms with all your capacity to love anything at all. In these lines,
Stevens beautifully reveals that poetry is all about enjoying each line and each and every part of
the poem as it would give you satisfaction and love for poetryas never before. Similarly, Stevens
wrote a magnificent piece of work Sunday Morning , with various pieces of literary devices to
enhance his poetry making it descriptive and enjoyable to read. For example, the use of techniques
such as symbolism, theme, imagery, and tone Sunday Morning displays the clash that the speaker
endures as she questions the Christian religionand her discovery of love for nature. It is evident
throughout the poem that the woman has difficulty finding happiness in religion and enjoys nature,
finding it to be inspiring unlike religion that can be destructive and disappointing. The poem starts

Classic liberalism is a political ideology that advocates limited government constitutionalism, rule of

free markets. The Age of Enlightenment was a cultural movement of intellectuals in Europe and the
United States, whose purpose was to reform society and advance knowledge. It promoted science
and intellectual interchange and opposed superstition, intolerance and abuses by church and state.
European states ended the Thirty Years War with the Peace of Westphalia (1648), which laid the
foundations for a system of independent, competing states. They also mutually recognized their
rights to organize their domestic and religious affairs and agreed that political and diplomatic
affairs were to be conducted by states acting in their own interests.

Murder In The Media
The way the media sensationalizes murder has changed greatly since the death of Queen Victoria
in the early 20th century. However, the public s fascination with murder is still as strong as ever.
The infamous cases and trials of Case Anthony, OJ Simpson, and Amanda Knox captivated a world
and resulted in the commercial appeal of true crime. The commercialization of what society openly
proclaims as criminal begs for a curtail question to be asked. What makes this Victorian cultural trait
thrive in today society while other culture traits died out? Television and the internet are two
technological advances that have sustained the public s fascination with murder. Both of these
sources allow for a shift from a written format to visual display. Unlike the pre Victorian pastime of
murder sightseeing and the Victorian written format, television and the internet allow a merge of

Women s Subjectivity in Arabian Nights by Judith Grossman
Judith Grossman wrote an article concerning women s subjectivity in Arabian Nights. The
article brought out many points to which I had never given thought. As I read the novel, I saw
that women were considered evil and bad, but I didn t think much more of it. After reading
Grossman s article I must say I agree with many of the thoughts expressed. She focuses on the
fact that women are considered to be evil, but it is just because their true self has never had a
chance to be free. Women are locked into this reciprocal cycle of deceit and unfaithfulness, only
after being oppressed by their husbands or keepers, as in the case of the Jinnee and the maiden.
Grossman s article ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The maiden says, But I have lain under as many men as I ve desired, and this wretched jinnee
doesn t realize that destiny cannot be averted or hindered by anything and that whatever a woman
wants, she will get, no matter how much a man might try to prevent it.(11) It is easy to see that she
is rebelling in her own way against the rules set forth by the jinnee and all of mankind. She has a
deep hatred towards men, and she makes herself feel better by dominating strange men and
threatening them with the loss of their lives. Although she cannot actually kill them her captor the
jinnee, will without a second thought. Though she is dominated by the jinnee, she has a power
over the men she finds. This evens out the balance of power a little between the jinnee and the
maiden. Women are made out to be awful, horrible creatures from which men should take cover.
In Arabian Nights there are many passages in which women are negatively portrayed. For
example, This only proves that all women will make cuckolds out of their husbands when given
the chance...No man in this world is safe from the malice of women! (6) This is only one of many
blatant sexist remarks in this text. Grossman takes the stance in her article, ...but my focus is not on
the solipsistic narrator it is on narration as a social act undertaken in a specified context of
events.(113) To me this means that she is focusing on what character is doing the narration in the

The Tragic Hero And Butterworth s Johnny Byron
Jez Butterworth undeniably flaunts the conventions of comedy in Jerusalem to create a profound
but amusing philosophical satire, observing and mocking modern society. Morally objectionable
ideals present in everyday life are examined and ridiculed, inevitably leading to the development of
morally objectionable characters and social groups. As a result, Johnny Byron doesn t neatly fit the
definitions of either a tragic heroor a comedic protagonist but instead has traits of the two. He is
both an outrageously hedonistic Falstaffian character whist arousing pity and fear, able to question
the motivation of other characters whilst himself being hubristic and unable to admit error. Despite
his comedic attributes, Byron s character undoubtedly lends itself more to the tragic arc as the
audience witnesses his bloody downfall from relative grace, evoking both pity and disgust.
The most obvious parallel between the Aristotelian tragic hero and Butterworth s Johnny Byron is
the uncovering of his tragic flaw. Throughout the drama Byron demonstrates an inability to move
on or mature, symbolised by his fairly permanent caravan along with the many relics of a time
gone by scattered about his clearing. It s possible that Butterworth intended this to be a metaphor
for England and traditional views of Englishness (most obviously symbolised by a sign reading
Waterloo on the side of the caravan), and that through this satire he is lamenting man s fate as
Englishness is lost through

Religion Versus Science in The Scopes Trial
This trial took place in Dayton, Tennessee in 1925, and the central figure was a
twenty five year old science teacher named John Scopes. Scopes was under the umbrella
of advancing America, and the trial was dubbed The Scopes Monkey Trial. In 1925,
John Scopes was encouraged to challenge the Butler Law. This law was passed in the
state of Tennessee to bar teachings contrary to those in the Bible. Teachings from an
evolutionary text, Scopes broke the law and drew the attention of the media. The focus of
the media on the Scopes trial clearly presented the difference in the ideas of a religious
town and an evolving country.
Dayton, Tennessee was a stable and religious town. According to Jeffery P. Moran,
Attorney. General. Tom Stewart was quoted having said that, The state makes no

How Student Engagement And Comprehension Throughout This...
This unit plan will implement a variety of methods to assess student engagement and
comprehension throughout this entire unit. Begin the unit by gauging to see what students already
know about the 1920s by having students complete a Pre Assessment. Many students are already
familiar with some of the themes and content connected with the 1920sand teacher can use pre
assessment to figure out what students are already familiar with. First brainstorm with the students
to see what they already know and then provide students with a pre assessment to evaluate
individual knowledge. The brainstorming is very general and presents an overview whereas the
assessment provides the teacher with actual data. The Unit Outline explains how the unit... Show

Human Health Care System Is On The Brink Of Collapse
The Philippines has provided the world with skilled medical professionals for decades. But as
more and more workers abandon the Philippines for higher salaries abroad, public health experts
say the country s health care system is on the brink of collapse. Dr. Jaime Galvez Tan
This above quote is from a former Philippine health secretary commented about the brain drain
crisis regarding the health professionals, occurring right now in the Philippines. The phenomenon
known as the brain drain is the emigration of skilled, intelligent and highly skilled personnel from
a country. The Philippines have been exporting medical professionals since the early 1960 s and
this has been an issue ever since. Due to increase in migration of nurses and doctors, the Philippines
medical development has stalled for many years and one can even state that their medical quality
has dropped dramatically. (Philippine Medical Brain Drain) It is important to note that the
government is responsible for the brain drain of medical professionals in the Philippines and they
have failed to improve the living quality and payment of these medics. As a result of this, these
doctors and nurses chose to move to a more developed country for better living condition and better
pay. Even though the Philippines are gaining profit from brain drain of these medical professionals,
the negatives of this crisis covers up the positives. Furthermore, evidence has shown that the brain
drain is more harmful than

Family Functionalism
Finally, in The Concepts of the Family Dynamic, Ruth Wienclaw evaluates the Structural
Functionalist attitude toward the social problem of divorce. Structural Functionalism is the
paradigm that describes social problems as parts of life which are necessary to maintain balance. As
Wienclaw writes, structural functionalists see divorceas a challenge, supporters of the conflict
theory find that divorce is the result of contradictory opinions of people in the family, and symbolic
interactionists think divorce or different types of families are a product of modern outlooks
surrounding the family (Wienclaw, 2014). She also addresses the shortcomings of the functionalist
theory by pointing out that it does not call attention to the issue of abuse... Show more content on

Since I started this paper without a specific, for or against argument on the matter, I have gained
more knowledge about how exactly divorce affects the family. However, my position on this
social problem has not wavered very much. While I do agree with most of the scholars that
addressed the issues surrounding divorce and how they affect children and single parents, I could
not find many arguments that undeniably agreed with the notion that divorce could have positive
effects. Although, a persuasive argument that was introduced was that relationships that are
unhealthy could be ended with the help of divorce. More than one of the resources stressed the
importance of more research into if divorce was the only cause of single parent household
hardships and evaluating whether there were more positive effects of divorce since less research
on this subject has been done in comparison to the negative effects of divorce. I recognize that I
am speaking about a fraction of the problem and that other issues under this topic need to be
addressed. In other words, it is imperative that all facets of divorce be investigated in order to truly
understand all parts of the social

limited personal experience, to connect to others, to recognize our potential, and to collaborate in
generating new solutions to old problems.
However conflict is viewed, students who can manage their conflicts in a rational, civil and
effective way, allow teachers to devote more time to teaching rather than resolving student disputes
and/or dealing with disruptive situations, which supports student achievement
(www.knowconflict.com, 2006). Thus students who practice effective conflict managementskills,
help to create a positive environment where students can focus on learning.
(www.knowconflict.com, 2006). Additionally, exposure to conflict resolution skills by
disseminating attitudes, knowledge, and skills that deter violence throughout the school day, may
result in more peaceful resolutions of conflict and fewer episodes of violence both in and out of
school (Mauricio, Dillman Carpentier, Horan, 2005).

often they display unconstructive conflict management behaviors as well. Their responses will serve

Comparing Vivaldi s Concerto For Four Violins And...
Project 5
Vivaldi Concerto for Four Violins and Orchestra in B Minor
Vivaldi s Concerto for Four Violins and Orchestra in B Minor bears some similarities and some
differences to his work Winter from The Four Seasons. The most prominent of these similarities
relates to the speed of the movements. The typical concerto from the Baroque period had three
movements. These movements often alternated their tempo: the first was fast, the second slow, and
the third fast again.
In Winter, Vivaldi utilizes this pattern. If one listens to the first minute or so Vivaldi s second
movement in that work, then listens to the anything beyond the first 30 or so seconds of the first
movement or past the first 45 seconds of the third movement, the contrast is obvious. Vivaldi s
second movement in Winter is by far the slowest of the three movements.
This Concerto for Four Violins follows this same pattern. The first thirty seconds, for example, of
the opening movement (0:00 0:30) are replete with up tempo music, as are the opening thirty
seconds of the third and final movement (6:17 6:47 on the YouTube video). By contrast, the
beginning thirty seconds of the second movement (3:50 4:20 on the video) are noticeably slower
than their counterparts in the other movements. This characteristic ... Show more content on

The dissonance and being difficult to follow the music can be heard throughout this section, but
especially in the third and fourth scenes (13:47 16:29 and 16:52 21:00, respectively). This music
sounds off somehow because of its clashing chords and being devoid of a pattern. Indeed,
attempting to tap or hum along to the music in these sections proves impossible. (It should be
noted, however, that the orchestral transitions, specifically the one from 12:43 13:47 do feature
some patterns. These are the main difference between this work and

How do the Mirabal sisters compare to colonial patriots? Both fought for freedom. Both risked

Richard III Disappearance
The fate of the Princes in the Tower has baffled historians and laymen alike for over half a
millennium. Despite centuries of investigations, this deeply shrouded mystery continues to produce
more questions than answers. Was the young boy king and his brother murdered on the orders of
their nefarious uncle, Richard III? Or were the members of the rival house the Lancasters
responsible for this heinous crime?
In my paper, I will examine the facts and events leading up to the boys supposed disappearance. By
reconstructing this chain of events, I intend to prove that the princes uncle, Richard III, had the
boys killed to insure his own claim to the throne.

While the princes were no longer considered eligible for succession, Richard III s right to the
crown was uncertain. Because of Richard s position as king, it is improbable that the princes
could be murdered without his knowledge. With his nephews dead, Richard was free to rule
without fear the young boys would be the figurehead of a rebellion. In her book The Princes in the
Tower (1992), Alison Weir wrote:
When, on 8th September, he walked hand in hand with his son and his wife into York Minister
for Edward s [his son] investiture as Prince of Wales, the King did so in belief that he had
removed the last dynastic threat to his throne and to put an end once and for all to the conspiracies
that had over shadowed his reign (pg. 162)
Nevertheless, Richard s reign was plagued with rumors and allegations of nepoticide. In a 1483
edition of the Danzig Chronicle, Caspar Weinrich alleged that ...Richard the king s brother seized
power and had his brother s children killed... (Pollard, 1991, pg. 122) In January 1484, Lord

Explore the similarities and differences in the presentation of female characters in A Streetcar

In this essay, I will be exploring the similarities and differences of female characters in A
Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams; and The World s Wife by Carol Ann Duffy. Both
texts denote women as somewhat weak and incompetent and as having a predatory attitude towards
the mainly dominant male characters. A Streetcar Named Desire was written in 1945 and it
initially connected with America s new found taste for realism following the Great Depression and
World War II. William s based the character of Blanche on his sister who was diagnosed with

when agreeing to send Blanche to a mental institution. Despite Blanches shocking accusations,
Stella must ignore her sister for the sake of her child. Eunice says to her you done the right thing,
the only thing you could do. The reader is able to see the role of a female friend. In this case
Eunice supports Stella through the difficult time. This is similar to Queen Herod as in the poem,
Duffy shows her as having a lack of sense when it comes down to her baby daughter. Kill each
mother s son. Do it. Spare not one. Her sheer ruthlessness has been brought to light. In Queen
Herod , Duffy also makes references to friendship and sisterhood. The black Queen scooped out my

The traditional qualities of a wife are subverted in Medusa . Duffy presents Medusa as a woman
who has been engulfed by jealousy, caused by her adulterous husband. My brides breath soured
stank in the grey bags of my lungs. This quote displays that Medusa was once young and
beautiful, but as a result of marriage has become hideous. This contrasts with the character of

The Fall Of The Samurai Analysis
Analysis.
End of Isolationism
One of the most important factors that contributed to the fall of the samurai during the Meiji
restoration was the influx of trade and commerce in Japan at the end of isolationism. The decision
to emphasize trade and commerce during this time period was made by the Japanese government,
the bakufu. However, it marked a weakness that would lead to the downfall of the government and
many high officials, which in turn affected the samurai greatly. During the beginning of the
Tokugawa or Edo period, the Japanese established extreme control over interactions with foreign
neighbors They expelled the Spaniards in 1624, the Portuguese in 1638, and after 1640, all
foreign trade had been eliminated except for a small port that was left open for limited trade with
the Chinese and Dutch under extreme supervision (Norman, 13). Moreover, all foreigners were
required to leave the country. The bakufu believed that the expulsion of foreigners would protect
their ability to trade as well as lead to a society that functioned more ... Show more content on

Aesop Is A Greek Narrator
Aesop is a Greek narrator who created over six hundred fables. The fables were told orally and
later translated into English. No author of Greek ancient times has been more read, translated,
adapted, adorned, printed, and illustrated than the works of Aesop s. Aesop s fables consist of
simple tales with moral endings surpassing time and place to be so connected to today as they
were a thousand of years ago. Using (mostly) animals and lifeless objects that speak, solve
problems, and generally have human characteristics, they remain widely popular and still inspire
many contemporary stories, plays, and movies. While there is no record that Aesopever wrote

When King Lycurgus found that Aesop was still alive, he pardoned Aesop in return for help to
solve his problem. The fourth and final crime cost Aesop his life. Aesop s sharp cleverness
disrespected the magistrate, who schemed to humiliate and kill him. The magistrate had a gold
cup concealed in Aesop s baggage. When it was found and recognized as stolen from a temple,
Aesop was found guilty of blasphemy and theft. Aesop attempted to talk his way out of it but he
was thrown from a cliff to his death. Aesop s fables consist of simple tales of moral endings to
teach children. Many of the morals and phrases are well known today. One of the phrases that I
always remember and one that all should know is slow and steady wins the race from The Tortoise
and the Hare fable. This fable is about an arrogant hare and a leisurely tortoise that dare each
other to a race. The hare gloats about how he could never lose to a slow moving tortoise. After
the race begins the hare sops to rest, thinking that he has plenty of time. While the hare is
sleeping, the tortoise passed him to win the race. This fable proves that slow and steady wins the
race. The hare s arrogance convinced him, that he could never lose to a slower animal. This gave
him the confidence that he could take a nap and still win the race. Even though the tortoise was
slower, he was persistent and this allowed him to win the race. One source argues the following:
Rarely does slow win any race.

many controversial theories. In his book The Power Elite, he talks about the corruption that exists
within our democracy. Mills talks about a concept called the revolving door, which states that
there is only a certain amount of people who hold all the power in their hands, and these same
people will move from one seat of institutional power to another, in a revolving door matter. In

publicly are most actively involved. Popular culture is known as the culture of the people . This
culture is determined by the interactions between people within their daily activities, for instance,
dressing styles, use of language, greeting rituals and the ways that people behave in public, etc. are
all examples of popular culture. Popular culture is also diverted by the mass media (Abbott and
Sapsford, 1987).
Popular culture is generally believed to be comprised of a variety of elements. For example,
popular culture covers the most contemporary and instant aspects of our lives. These aspects can
often show the characteristics of rapid change, especially in today s highly technological and
informative world in which, people are highly influenced by the universal media. Certain
standards of behaviour and common beliefs are reflected in pop culture. Because of its cohesion,
pop culture both influences and reflects people s daily life. Moreover, brands can reach iconic pop
status. However, these aspects are not constant and may change rapidly. (Abbott and Sapsford,
1987).

Grout College Essay
HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT GROUT FOR YOUR TILE
Choosing a different grout color for your tile can add a touch of elegance or a distinct modern flair
to your design.
Grout is more than just the cement that fills and holds your tile together; it is an important element
of the tilework s design. Often disregarded, grout selection is as significant as the tile you select,
and it is the finishing touch that will bring together your unique design.
Grout varieties have expanded over the last decade and nowadays, you can find grout in virtually
every shade and every color to blend or add a little contrast to your tiles. By choosing a different
color grout, you can change the look of the tile design from elegant to traditional or from
contemporary to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sanded grout is less expensive and should be used if the spaces between the tiles are greater than
1/8 inch. Non sanded or unsanded grouts, tend to cost more and are made specifically for grout
lines smaller than 1/8 inch. Unsanded grout will shrink as it cures and the more grout you have,
the more it will shrink. If you try to fill grout lines that are too wide, the grout will shrink enough
to pull away from the sides of the tile. Make sure to talk with your installer about choosing the right
grout for your specific project.
Tips for Selecting Grout
Install a few pieces of tile on a piece of plywood and add a couple of different colors of grout.
Allow it to properly cure and then place it in the room you are having the tile installed to see how
the lighting affects your choice. When selecting grout colors, keep the following tips in mind:
If you have selected a colored grout, make sure to give it time to cure before making a final
decision.
Lighter colored grouts should be sealed, especially in heavy traffic areas and in showers.
Darker colored grouts are better at hiding discolorations and dirt, but can also fade if subjected to

Agriculture Is A Vital Part Of Society, And Agribusiness
Agriculture is a vital part of society, and Agribusiness is of course the business behind it. While
agricultural needs were different in ancient times, farming was always necessary. With agriculture
came the domestication of plants and animals. This domestication allowed the human civilization to
flourish. With time, new technologies and lifestyles changed the course of agriculture.
According to the USDA Census of Agriculture, aging farmers and ranchers, whose average age
has risen from 52 to 57 during the last 20 years, are often retiring without a younger family
member willing to take over (2007). With the loss of multi generation ranches comes the rise of
corporations. This ultimately leads to greater employment rates. The Bureau of Labor Statistics
states that nearly 60,000 skilled agricultural job openings are expected annually in the U.S., yet
only 35,000 graduates will be available to fill them (2012). Agricultural managers should find
more opportunities this way. Owners of large lots of land, who aren t often living on the property,
will begin to pursue an agricultural manager s expertise to run their farms as businesses. The
decline in farmers, and the increase in large operations can reap many benefits for graduates
looking to emerge themselves in an agricultural career.
Agribusiness Management means hard work, an extensive education, and many duties both in and
out of the office. Ag Management can also reap many financial and emotional rewards. I m fully

Comparison Of Anne Bradstreet s Memory Of My Dear...
A comparison of Anne Bradstreet s In Memory of My Dear Grandchild Elizabeth Bradstreet and
Edward Taylors Upon Wedlock, and Death of Children. Taylor and Bradstreet have different
relationships to their children in each of their poems. In the poems the writers explain that
death, in some way, is a natural course and compare it with the diverse aspects of nature. Both
Taylor and Bradstreet attempt to reunite the faith they have in God even when they suffer the
loss of a child. These poems seem very similar just by first glance because of the content
displayed and the use of their tone. However, they do tend to stray apart on several main ideas.
Taylor resorts to a Puritan reaction towards the tragedy of his loss, which gives the reader a
feeling of pity for him as he would be the man whom loves God and the caring father role.
Conversely, Bradstreet displays her expression of loss in a rather unique way of blame towards
God. Taylor has an understanding state of mind toward the loss of his children, but he also
mourns heavily over his loss. Taylor uses a common word throughout his poem, which is flowers.
He compares his kids to flowers that are metaphorically growing from a True Love Knot , which
can also be referred to as a flower bed. He really emphasizes the gorgeous appearance of the flowers
that seem to grow in his garden in the first two stanzas of the poem. In Taylor s poem he rejoices
his marriage and the birth of his kids as a grateful and glorious day.

Essay The Red Tent by Diamant
The Red Tent by Diamant
In Diamant s powerful novel The Red Tent the ever silent Dinah from the 34th chapter of Gensis
is finally given her own voice, and the story she tells is a much different one than expected. With
the guiding hands of her four mothers , Leah, Rachel, Zilpah, and Bilhah, all the wives of Jacob, we
grow with Dinah from her childhood in Mesoptamia through puberty, where she is then entered into
the red tent , and well off into her adulthood from Cannan to Egypt. Throughout her journey we
learn how the red tent is constantly looked upon for encouragement, solace, and comfort. It is where
women go once a month during menstration, where they have their babies, were they dwell in
illness and most importantly, where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This act is translated into todays concept of rape, but as the narrative continues we see how
Shechem tries to justify his manner by claiming he fell victim to love. Being drawn to Dinah,
daughter of Jacob, and in love with the maiden, he spoke to the maiden tenderly (Genesis 34:3).
This, however, is not admissible in the eyes of Israel s men. Shechem s behavior is considered
an outrage in Israel...a thing not to be done , and therefore, hinders Shechem s aspiration of
marriage to her (Genesis 34:7). One of the ways he is able to seek mercy is by offering Dinah s
brothers and father a high bride price. This offering along with a promise for all men to be
circumcised in accordance with God s command to their grandfather Abraham: This is my
covenant between Me and you and your offspring to follow which you shall keep: every male
among you shall be circumcised, is a fitting plea to their ears and Dinah is wed off (Genesis
17:10). But what about Dinah s ears? Who is to say that she wants to marry this man who defiled
her? What is her view on it all?
Ironically, there is no mention of Dinah s feelings or thoughts throughout Genesis 34. All the
attention focuses not on Dinah, but the men around her. The one who is affected the most
throughout this whole ordeal is somehow left in the shadow. There even is no reference to how
she succumbs to being raped, and later deceived by her own blood.
After the entire male community gives consent

The Hero s Journey In Whirligig By Paul Fleischman
In stories, there is always a pattern that they all have in common. This certain pattern is known
as the Hero s Journey. There are varying descriptions of the Hero s Journey steps but only the
steps that are set by the teacher is used. These steps are the The Call , Allies , Preparation , The
Guardians of the Threshold , Crossing the Threshold , Road of Trials , Saving Experience,
Transformation , and Sharing the Gift .This essay is explaining what the Hero s Journey is in the
book Whirligig by Paul Fleischman. The step that is coming up is the Call which is when the hero
starts their journey.
The Call occurs when Mrs. Zamora requests Brent to make the whirligigs in the corners of the
United States. For example, Mrs. Zamora tells ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With this sentence, you can see that Brent only prepared materials to build the whirligig. This
shows that Brent is prepared to go on his journey because he has all of his necessaries in his
luggage for the quest. Also, this shows that Brent still is self conscious, comparing others to him.
Therefore his preparation is done, and he next needs to cross the Threshold blocking him from
starting his quest. There are no Guardians of the Threshold in this story unless Brent s parents are
counted in the first place. The book stated that Brent s parent raised one objection after another
(Fleischman 41). The Guardians of the Threshold usually prevents the hero from going on his quest,
and this statement shows that Brent s parents are objecting on the quest. If their objection is
fulfilled, Brent wouldn t have gone on the quest at first. This fits the standards of being the
Guardians of the Threshold but nothing is done. In conclusion, it could be called the Guardians of
the Threshold by some.
A main problem in Brent s journey that is a Threshold of sorts is that he s self conscious. He
doesn t believe he has much of a future after his journey and compares to other people. In the
book, it says He was no longer of their kind and never will be (Fleischman 36). This sentence
proves that he feels

  • 2. How Far Was Germany Responsible For The First World War In this essay, I would like to try and explain in my opinion which country is the most responsible for the First World War. I have arranged them by putting the country which is the most responsible at the top and the least responsible at the bottom. 1)Germany (Most Responsible) I feel that Germany is the most responsible for starting the First World War for many reasons. Firstly I would like to begin from the start when Bismarck united all the small kingdoms into one empire. During that, on the other side of the English Channel, Britain was a powerful empire. During that, Britain controlled over ВЅ of the world and an enormous trading system. After looking and comparing with Britain, the Kaiser and the Germans became jealous. Although the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As the Boers won the first war and then Britain won the second one, Germany tried backing the Boers by helping. The British did not like the way the Germans were backing the Boers so they decided not to be friends with the Germans and decided to look for another friendly nation in Europe. After the Boer War, the Kaiser kept provoking the British. There was the Naval Arms Race when the British launched the Dreadnought Class ships. As the Germans had many shipyards on the East side of Denmark, they built the Kiel Canal so they can transport the finished warships to the West and that was a type of threat to Britain. Another threat in the Naval Arms Race was they provoked Britain by building similar Dreadnought Class ships. The Germans were very quick at building them but then they stopped a few years later and Britain had built more warships than Germany. There was also the risk theory where the Germans believed that by expanding their navy, the British would think it would be too risky to fight the German Navy. That was a little threat to Britain as well. Britain also used the two power standard where its navy had to be bigger than the second and third ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Nuclear Energy As An Alternative Power Source Nuclear Powered Vehicles Does an energy source such as nuclear energy have the potential to change the way Americans, and the world for that matter, move from place to place? This technology is very tempting, although it is extremely expensive; the long lasting benefits are remarkable. This technology may seem revolutionary, but it is still in the beginning stages. Many people would question the thought of stepping foot in a nuclear vehicle. Could this plan of nuclear energy in vehicles put Americans at more risk than it is worth? The idea of using nuclear energy is not a new doctrine, yet it still seems to raise some questions. The concept of using nuclear energy as an alternative power source is becoming drastically evident in the U.S. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even if the reactor would fit in the car, the amount of nuclear radiation given off would require several tons of steel to protect the driver. Needless to say, the concept car never caught on. Even though, throughout the 50s and 60s, several companies tried their hand at producing a nuclear powered car, none of them were ever successful. Over the last sixty years, no one has ever been able to build a fully functioning car powered by only nuclear energy (Sebastian). A nuclear car may not have been feasible in the 60s, but the military had a limited number of nuclear powered ships. The N.S. Savannah was one of the few nuclear powered ships that the U.S. owned; the idea of these ships never caught on. The ships released small traces of nuclear waste into the ocean and the idea of radiation in the ocean made many people uneasy (Sebastian). In the 60s, the U.S. military possessed nuclear ships such as ice breakers and destroyers; once these ships went out of commission, they were no longer made, and the nuclear energy age ended as fast as it had begun in America. The idea behind powering something using nuclear technology is fairly easy; the problem is what to do with the radiation produced from the reaction. The vehicle is powered by the extremely slow decay of an element such as thorium or uranium, which produces heat and causes steam. This steam is used to spin a turbine engine and create electricity to power ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In 2011, Florida s recreational anglers caught roughly 121 million marine fish, 74 million of which were released. These statistics support the notion that fishingmay be one of the most loved hobbies. Since fishing efforts have been drastically increasing over the years, dozens of species are threatened with extinction and many more are experiencing serious population declines. In order to ensure that a fishs populations will remain sustainable for future generations, anglers need regulations that will sustain the existence of a fish population. The main way that Lombardi created such an influential speech was through his style and invention of arguments. Coach Lombardi used a style in his speech that made everything very clear to the audience. His speech was very casual and used language that, although powerful and moving, was easily understood by anyone who listened to the speech. This allowed his speech to connect with a much wider audience than football players, fans, or reporters. Still, today, this speech is easily understood but conveys the powerful message that anything is possible through hard work. It is so well known, that it is used on motivational posters today. Furthermore, apart from the simplistic, powerful style, Lombardi uses a type of invention for his arguments that makes his perspective very clear to see. For example, he argues that a football player must play in his entirety in order to be successful. He begins this argument by saying, he s got to play from the ground up from the soles of his feet right up to his head. He then emphasizes this point another time by saying that every inch of him has to play. He then introduces the counter perspective that Some guys play with their heads. He says that this is good because you need to be smart to be the best. However, he says that the most important thing is that you play with your heart, with every fiber of your body. This ... Women s Subjectivity in Arabian Nights by Judith Grossman Judith Grossman wrote an article concerning women s subjectivity in Arabian Nights. The article brought out many points to which I had never given thought. As I read the novel, I saw that women were considered evil and bad, but I didn t think much more of it. After reading Grossman s article I must say I agree with many of the thoughts expressed. She focuses on the fact that women are considered to be evil, but it is just because their true self has never had a chance to be free. Women are locked into this reciprocal cycle of deceit and unfaithfulness, only after being oppressed by their husbands or keepers, as in the case of the Jinnee and the maiden. Grossman s article ... The maiden says, But I have lain under as many men as I ve desired, and this wretched jinnee doesn t realize that destiny cannot be averted or hindered by anything and that whatever a woman wants, she will get, no matter how much a man might try to prevent it.(11) It is easy to see that she is rebelling in her own way against the rules set forth by the jinnee and all of mankind. She has a deep hatred towards men, and she makes herself feel better by dominating strange men and threatening them with the loss of their lives. Although she cannot actually kill them her captor the jinnee, will without a second thought. Though she is dominated by the jinnee, she has a power over the men she finds. This evens out the balance of power a little between the jinnee and the maiden. Women are made out to be awful, horrible creatures from which men should take cover. In Arabian Nights there are many passages in which women are negatively portrayed. For example, This only proves that all women will make cuckolds out of their husbands when given the chance...No man in this world is safe from the malice of women! • 16. The Tragic Hero And Butterworth s Johnny Byron Jez Butterworth undeniably flaunts the conventions of comedy in Jerusalem to create a profound but amusing philosophical satire, observing and mocking modern society. Morally objectionable ideals present in everyday life are examined and ridiculed, inevitably leading to the development of morally objectionable characters and social groups. As a result, Johnny Byron doesn t neatly fit the definitions of either a tragic heroor a comedic protagonist but instead has traits of the two. He is both an outrageously hedonistic Falstaffian character whist arousing pity and fear, able to question the motivation of other characters whilst himself being hubristic and unable to admit error. Despite his comedic attributes, Byron s character undoubtedly lends itself more to the tragic arc as the audience witnesses his bloody downfall from relative grace, evoking both pity and disgust. The most obvious parallel between the Aristotelian tragic hero and Butterworth s Johnny Byron is the uncovering of his tragic flaw. Throughout the drama Byron demonstrates an inability to move on or mature, symbolised by his fairly permanent caravan along with the many relics of a time gone by scattered about his clearing. It s possible that Butterworth intended this to be a metaphor for England and traditional views of Englishness (most obviously symbolised by a sign reading Waterloo on the side of the caravan), and that through this satire he is lamenting man s fate as Englishness is lost through ... • 21. Religion Versus Science in The Scopes Trial This trial took place in Dayton, Tennessee in 1925, and the central figure was a twenty five year old science teacher named John Scopes. Scopes was under the umbrella of advancing America, and the trial was dubbed The Scopes Monkey Trial. In 1925, John Scopes was encouraged to challenge the Butler Law. This law was passed in the state of Tennessee to bar teachings contrary to those in the Bible. Teachings from an evolutionary text, Scopes broke the law and drew the attention of the media. The focus of the media on the Scopes trial clearly presented the difference in the ideas of a religious town and an evolving country. Dayton, Tennessee was a stable and religious town. According to Jeffery P. Moran, Attorney. General. Tom Stewart was quoted having said that, The state makes no contention, as stated by counsel for the defense, that this is a conflict between science and religion insofar as the merits are concerned ( Moran 95 ). This conflict was the major focus of the trial as people in the town were displaying banners with the sign Read Your Bible . The people living here had taken up the Bible teachings so they could feel a sense of security within a time of change. Evolution disputes the Bible record of man s creation, and the logic of the evolution eliminates as false the miracles of the Bible, including the virgin birth and the bodily resurrection of Christ ( Moran 191 ). But as more and more workers abandon the Philippines for higher salaries abroad, public health experts say the country s health care system is on the brink of collapse. Dr. Jaime Galvez Tan This above quote is from a former Philippine health secretary commented about the brain drain crisis regarding the health professionals, occurring right now in the Philippines. The phenomenon known as the brain drain is the emigration of skilled, intelligent and highly skilled personnel from a country. The Philippines have been exporting medical professionals since the early 1960 s and this has been an issue ever since. Due to increase in migration of nurses and doctors, the Philippines medical development has stalled for many years and one can even state that their medical quality has dropped dramatically. (Philippine Medical Brain Drain) It is important to note that the government is responsible for the brain drain of medical professionals in the Philippines and they have failed to improve the living quality and payment of these medics. As a result of this, these doctors and nurses chose to move to a more developed country for better living condition and better pay. Even though the Philippines are gaining profit from brain drain of these medical professionals, the negatives of this crisis covers up the positives. Structural Functionalism is the paradigm that describes social problems as parts of life which are necessary to maintain balance. As Wienclaw writes, structural functionalists see divorceas a challenge, supporters of the conflict theory find that divorce is the result of contradictory opinions of people in the family, and symbolic interactionists think divorce or different types of families are a product of modern outlooks surrounding the family (Wienclaw, 2014). However, my position on this social problem has not wavered very much. While I do agree with most of the scholars that addressed the issues surrounding divorce and how they affect children and single parents, I could not find many arguments that undeniably agreed with the notion that divorce could have positive effects. Although, a persuasive argument that was introduced was that relationships that are unhealthy could be ended with the help of divorce. More than one of the resources stressed the importance of more research into if divorce was the only cause of single parent household hardships and evaluating whether there were more positive effects of divorce since less research on this subject has been done in comparison to the negative effects of divorce. • 27. Comparing Vivaldi s Concerto For Four Violins And... Project 5 Vivaldi Concerto for Four Violins and Orchestra in B Minor Vivaldi s Concerto for Four Violins and Orchestra in B Minor bears some similarities and some differences to his work Winter from The Four Seasons. The most prominent of these similarities relates to the speed of the movements. The typical concerto from the Baroque period had three movements. These movements often alternated their tempo: the first was fast, the second slow, and the third fast again. In Winter, Vivaldi utilizes this pattern. If one listens to the first minute or so Vivaldi s second movement in that work, then listens to the anything beyond the first 30 or so seconds of the first movement or past the first 45 seconds of the third movement, the contrast is obvious. Vivaldi s second movement in Winter is by far the slowest of the three movements. This Concerto for Four Violins follows this same pattern. The first thirty seconds, for example, of the opening movement (0:00 0:30) are replete with up tempo music, as are the opening thirty seconds of the third and final movement (6:17 6:47 on the YouTube video). By contrast, the beginning thirty seconds of the second movement (3:50 4:20 on the video) are noticeably slower than their counterparts in the other movements. This characteristic ... Sanded grout is less expensive and should be used if the spaces between the tiles are greater than 1/8 inch. Non sanded or unsanded grouts, tend to cost more and are made specifically for grout lines smaller than 1/8 inch. Unsanded grout will shrink as it cures and the more grout you have, the more it will shrink. • 44. Agriculture Is A Vital Part Of Society, And Agribusiness Agriculture is a vital part of society, and Agribusiness is of course the business behind it. While agricultural needs were different in ancient times, farming was always necessary. With agriculture came the domestication of plants and animals. This domestication allowed the human civilization to flourish. With time, new technologies and lifestyles changed the course of agriculture. According to the USDA Census of Agriculture, aging farmers and ranchers, whose average age has risen from 52 to 57 during the last 20 years, are often retiring without a younger family member willing to take over (2007). With the loss of multi generation ranches comes the rise of corporations. This ultimately leads to greater employment rates. The Bureau of Labor Statistics states that nearly 60,000 skilled agricultural job openings are expected annually in the U.S., yet only 35,000 graduates will be available to fill them (2012). Agricultural managers should find more opportunities this way. Owners of large lots of land, who aren t often living on the property, will begin to pursue an agricultural manager s expertise to run their farms as businesses. The decline in farmers, and the increase in large operations can reap many benefits for graduates looking to emerge themselves in an agricultural career. Agribusiness Management means hard work, an extensive education, and many duties both in and out of the office. Ag Management can also reap many financial and emotional rewards. I m fully aware ... • 45. Comparison Of Anne Bradstreet s Memory Of My Dear... A comparison of Anne Bradstreet s In Memory of My Dear Grandchild Elizabeth Bradstreet and Edward Taylors Upon Wedlock, and Death of Children. Taylor and Bradstreet have different relationships to their children in each of their poems. In the poems the writers explain that death, in some way, is a natural course and compare it with the diverse aspects of nature. Both Taylor and Bradstreet attempt to reunite the faith they have in God even when they suffer the loss of a child. These poems seem very similar just by first glance because of the content displayed and the use of their tone. However, they do tend to stray apart on several main ideas. Taylor resorts to a Puritan reaction towards the tragedy of his loss, which gives the reader a feeling of pity for him as he would be the man whom loves God and the caring father role. Conversely, Bradstreet displays her expression of loss in a rather unique way of blame towards God. Taylor has an understanding state of mind toward the loss of his children, but he also mourns heavily over his loss. Taylor uses a common word throughout his poem, which is flowers. He compares his kids to flowers that are metaphorically growing from a True Love Knot , which can also be referred to as a flower bed. He really emphasizes the gorgeous appearance of the flowers that seem to grow in his garden in the first two stanzas of the poem. In Taylor s poem he rejoices his marriage and the birth of his kids as a grateful and glorious day. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. Essay The Red Tent by Diamant The Red Tent by Diamant In Diamant s powerful novel The Red Tent the ever silent Dinah from the 34th chapter of Gensis is finally given her own voice, and the story she tells is a much different one than expected. With the guiding hands of her four mothers , Leah, Rachel, Zilpah, and Bilhah, all the wives of Jacob, we grow with Dinah from her childhood in Mesoptamia through puberty, where she is then entered into the red tent , and well off into her adulthood from Cannan to Egypt. Throughout her journey we learn how the red tent is constantly looked upon for encouragement, solace, and comfort. It is where women go once a month during menstration, where they have their babies, were they dwell in illness and most importantly, where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This act is translated into todays concept of rape, but as the narrative continues we see how Shechem tries to justify his manner by claiming he fell victim to love. Being drawn to Dinah, daughter of Jacob, and in love with the maiden, he spoke to the maiden tenderly (Genesis 34:3). This, however, is not admissible in the eyes of Israel s men. Shechem s behavior is considered an outrage in Israel...a thing not to be done , and therefore, hinders Shechem s aspiration of marriage to her (Genesis 34:7). One of the ways he is able to seek mercy is by offering Dinah s brothers and father a high bride price. This offering along with a promise for all men to be circumcised in accordance with God s command to their grandfather Abraham: This is my covenant between Me and you and your offspring to follow which you shall keep: every male among you shall be circumcised, is a fitting plea to their ears and Dinah is wed off (Genesis 17:10). But what about Dinah s ears? Who is to say that she wants to marry this man who defiled her? What is her view on it all? Ironically, there is no mention of Dinah s feelings or thoughts throughout Genesis 34. All the attention focuses not on Dinah, but the men around her. The one who is affected the most throughout this whole ordeal is somehow left in the shadow. There even is no reference to how she succumbs to being raped, and later deceived by her own blood. After the entire male community gives consent ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. The Hero s Journey In Whirligig By Paul Fleischman In stories, there is always a pattern that they all have in common. This certain pattern is known as the Hero s Journey. There are varying descriptions of the Hero s Journey steps but only the steps that are set by the teacher is used. These steps are the The Call , Allies , Preparation , The Guardians of the Threshold , Crossing the Threshold , Road of Trials , Saving Experience, Transformation , and Sharing the Gift .This essay is explaining what the Hero s Journey is in the book Whirligig by Paul Fleischman. The step that is coming up is the Call which is when the hero starts their journey. The Call occurs when Mrs. Zamora requests Brent to make the whirligigs in the corners of the United States. For example, Mrs. Zamora tells ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With this sentence, you can see that Brent only prepared materials to build the whirligig. This shows that Brent is prepared to go on his journey because he has all of his necessaries in his luggage for the quest. Also, this shows that Brent still is self conscious, comparing others to him. Therefore his preparation is done, and he next needs to cross the Threshold blocking him from starting his quest. There are no Guardians of the Threshold in this story unless Brent s parents are counted in the first place. The book stated that Brent s parent raised one objection after another (Fleischman 41). The Guardians of the Threshold usually prevents the hero from going on his quest, and this statement shows that Brent s parents are objecting on the quest. If their objection is fulfilled, Brent wouldn t have gone on the quest at first. This fits the standards of being the Guardians of the Threshold but nothing is done. In conclusion, it could be called the Guardians of the Threshold by some. A main problem in Brent s journey that is a Threshold of sorts is that he s self conscious. He doesn t believe he has much of a future after his journey and compares to other people. In the book, it says He was no longer of their kind and never will be (Fleischman 36). This sentence proves that he feels ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
