Comparing The Birth Stories Of Matthew And Luke
The profound birth narratives of Matthew and Luke clearly, and immediately, place Jesus as the Son of
God. Both authors leave no room for doubt among readers that God orchestrates the birth of Jesus
Christ. The basic premise within the narratives is also similar; Jesus is born in Bethlehem to the Virgin
Mary, wife of Joseph. Soon after his birth, Jesus receives visitors who affirm his significance. The
surety of Jesus divinity is established by God s usage of visions and angels in guiding the characters
involved in the birth narratives. Jesus birth is repeatedly portrayed to be fulfilling the prophecies of the
Old Testament. However, even though the narratives strongly emphasize Jesus sanctity, their
underlying premise is quite peculiar for God s arrival on Earth. Instead of an entry into the world
signified by grand celebrations and commemoration, the birth of Jesus occurs in an intimate setting.
God plays a prominent role in birth narratives of Matthew and Luke. God s presence ensures that
Joseph and Mary know how truly momentous the coming birth is. An angel appears to Joseph or
Mary, depending on the Gospel, before Jesus birth and declare what is to come (New Revised
Standard Version, Matthew.1.20; Luke 1.30). God s messages provide contextualization of Jesus ...

This process helps substantiate the claim of Jesus being the Messiah, foretold in the Old Testament. In
both Gospels, Jesus lineage goes back to King David (Matthew. 1.6; Luke. 2.4). Jesus is born in
Bethlehem, a town of great prophetic importance (Matthew. 2.5 2.6; Luke. 2.4). Another key element
is the virgin birth of Jesus (Matthew. 1.23; Luke. 1.27). The birth to a virgin in the town of Bethlehem
with linage back to King David is evidence for Jesus being the Messiah. Another geographic similarity
is that Joseph, Mary, and the child settle in

Religion In The 19th Century
A set of beliefs, rituals, and practices that serve to define the matter of existence; religion. Present in
society, religion sets precedents unifying its followers but religion also can prove to be a centrifugal
force within large countries. The more diverse a country is, the more it fosters different views and
perspectives. These opposing sides happen to restrict reforming policies in government and affects
societal norms. This is exemplified in the Ottoman Empire, where its state religion of Islam became
costly in creating a cohesive life for its citizens. During the 19th century, the Muslim world lost a lot
of its cultural and political sovereignty which indicated a shift in the political landscape of the world
and a technological gap between both societies (Baraz, 2010). The Ottoman government failed to
initiate any progress and exercised a conservative approach to issues. This method completely

Shintoism, Buddhism and Confucianism are numerous religions in Japan however all three doctrines

Ottomans prioritized the religion of Islam even though they still allowed other religions to exist.
Unfortunately for the minorities, they had to pay taxes such as the jizya. This action taken by the
Ottoman government showed a preference to who they supported which then spurred ideas of
independence or revolution from different religious groups or even sects such as Jews. The ethnic

Benefits Of A Child s Nutrition
Fruits and vegetables have a very essential role in our diet. Studies have shown the importance of
sufficient fruit and vegetable consumption in stopping chronic diseases like cardiovascular diseases,
cancers, diabetes and obesity. According to 2000 report, 2.7 million deaths and 1.8% all diseases
worldwide could be attributed to inadequate F V intake (Najimi, 2013). Starting to eat well when
young is important. Research has proven that interventions at a young age can impact good behavior
such as good nutritional habits that get carried on into adulthood. Furthermore, ages 7 to 12 is when a
child should get nutrients for growing. Therefore, the significance of a child s nutrition becomes more
of a need than ever (Najimi, 2013). Examples of the benefits of kids eating healthy when young are
good mental activities, prevention of problems and complications like anaemia, obesity, digestive
disorders, and tooth decay and chronic and dangerous diseases in the long term (Najimi, 2013).
Complicated health problems are determined by health behaviour theories, since it can impact factors
on behaviour by giving context to be able to better grasp its components and their role. The social
cognitive theory is a theory that is applied for looking at psychological effects on behaviors as well as
changing behavior and it focuses on mutual interactions of persons, behavior and environment.

Protagonists looking for Happiness in Death of a...
Often having happiness is finding the key to life. Happiness is the ability to make one s life full of joy
and success. In the Death of a Salesman , The Great Gatsby , and The Devil s Advocate , the
protagonists in the movies seem to yearn for happiness and success in their lives. Although success
may be the ultimate goal to achieving happiness, it does not always lead us there. There are many
obstacles people have to overcome, and sometimes happiness is not enough for some people. It is why
I believe more people should enjoy life and live it to the fullest extent as possible. Happiness allows
people to live their lives and look at the good despite all their flaws and as they are happy they look

Yes, Gatsby experiences happiness to a certain extent, but when his life ends suddenly, I think he is
unhappy and does not have everything he wanted out of life. The American Dream meant nothing if he
was not with the love of his life. I like how Gatsby overcomes many obstacles to be successful but he
is not happy like a typical person should be. I think Gatsby seems to have regretted having his fortune
because of the obstacles he faced in being happy. The key to life in my opinion is being happy. In the
The Devil s Advocate , I think the protagonist Keanu yearns for happiness. He is an attorney seeking a
victory for a case which he knows is immorally wrong. Although this may be wrong, the protagonist
seems to seek happiness, and is destined to going in the wrong path. He is choosing the path of evil to
get what he wants, and in doing so he meets the devil who is the antagonist and the person who wants
to lead Keanu in the wrong direction. In my opinion the aforementioned devil represents immorality,
evil, money, power, success, getting what you want no matter what and happiness among others.
These are all qualities that people want and in doing so it takes time and good fortune to make it
happen. The devil intrigues many people, where he wants to influence them in making this decision to
be on his side and making all this happen in an instant. It is the path Keanu

Demand And Supply Of The International Business...
Chapter 7: 1. Exporters typically prefer conservative measures when managing foreign receivables.
Because of this, there is a tendency to lean on the side of caution. Describe at least three reasons for
this conservativism. Exporters typically prefer conservative measures when managing foreign
receivables. Because of this, there is a tendency to lean on the side of caution. Three reasons for this
conservatism are described below: 1. Fluctuation in exchange rates: Exchange rates of currencies of
different countries fluctuate continuously and in a very random manner with the change in the demand
and supply state of the concerned currency. That can translate the profit from the international
business transaction into a loss or vice versa. Thus, the exporters dealing with foreign receivables
should be conservative to avoid this risk. 2. The difference in the legal system: Different countries
have different legal rules and policies for dealing with and managing the foreign accounts receivable.
It is mostly harder for a business to pursue any overdue amounts from an international business due to
the difference in the legal system. It is another reason for the conservative approaches of the exporters.
3. Change in export prices: Unexpected change in the commodity prices in a particular country will
arise a great risk for the exporters when managing foreign receivables. Change in commodity price
will also influence various other costs associated with the export like

Virginia Satir s Family Therapy Model
John Banmen said Virginia Satir, the pioneer of conjoint family therapy, has, over the years taught,
and developed a family therapy system based on the belief that people have the resources to move
their life patterns from a basic survival level to a higher level of becoming more fully human. A brief
overview of Satir s work will define communication and self esteem as Satir would use them, create
an understanding of family dynamics, which allows the reader to fully conceptualize how Satir s put
her theory into practice.
Satir breaks down communications, the giving and receiving information, into 2 categories; the
denotive and the metacommunitive. Congruent communications occurs when the denotive message

This conflict between mates leaves the child feeling at risk of losing one or both parents. Children see
themselves as the only pain relief or distraction for their parents. Kids feel over whelmed, especially if
addressing their own need is seen as misbehavior. This misbehavior the families see as a problem and
bring them to therapy. In this model the misbehaving child (the identified patient or IP) is not the
problem. Not coping with is the problem. (Banman 1987). Satir operate[s] from the assumption that
when there is pain in the family, all family members feel it in some way (Satir, 1967). This means the
therapists work is to help family understand that most family problem are a derivative of a struggling

such as drug abuse or depression and low self esteem due to the pressure of this responsibility.
Individual change for the IP is difficult because as the IP starts to improve, the IP puts the family s
homeostasis in jeopardy. Other family members take action to retain homeostasis by pressuring the IP
to revert back to old family norms via threats or guilt. Most family therapy issues are not a result of
pathology but of dysfunctional relationships caused by poor communication and low self esteem. Satir

Franklin s Virtue Analysis
The art of virtue is a distinct method employed by Franklin. The method features thirteen different
aspects: Temperance, Silence, Order, Resolution, Frugality, Industry, Sincerity, Justice, Moderation,
Cleanliness, Tranquility, Chastity, and Humility . Franklin believed that it was essential and
advantageous for one to follow this instruction of method, not only to be happy, but to attain clarity,
morality, and virtue. Franklin s first act of virtue, temperance, necessitated self control of eating and
drinking Eat not to Dulnesss / Drink not to Elevation (987). Franklin s second virtue, silence, dictated
not to involve yourself in useless discussion, as he illuminates Speak not but what may benefit others

The art of virtue is not precisely religious, it has more to do with the personal self, most importantly
self reliance. Whereas, in Puritan values one must always rely first on God and his true and devout
ways. On the topic of religion, in the art of virtue, Franklin himself wrote that he purposely avoided
them for being fully persuaded of the Utility and Excellency of my Method, and that it might be
serviceable to People in all Religions (992). In the discernments of Puritan s, Franklin leaving out any
religion in his art of virtue would have been deeply looked down upon, since in their eyes there is only
one true religion and all must follow it. Franklin s art of virtue was meant for any and all ideals, as
long as one was looking for morality. Everything in a Puritan s life is done for God and the ideal that
by following his instructions they will wind up in that well deserved place called heaven. The art of
virtue focuses on the ideal of the moral self, and what that entails for one s personal virtue, how these
virtues will help them throughout the life they are living, and is not worried about Gods judgement or
where that might lead them in the

Effective Performance Appraisal Program
Effective performance appraisal program Danielle Miller

Effective performance appraisals for developing and sustaining a high performance appraisal system
are based upon two key tenets. The first tenet suggests that if appraisal processes operate as a system.
The second tenet is that individual manager s play a pivotal role in achieving effective appraisals and
that they need the right tools and support to be effective.

Leadership training helps supervisors and managers understand the importance of giving equal
attention to operations and employees. Effective performance appraisals rely on performance
standards to determine how well employees complete their job duties, tasks and responsibilities.
Performance standards indicate what level of effort is required for an employee to meet or exceed her
job expectations. For instance, a performance standard for an accountant might state: Conduct two
audits every 30 days. Accountants who conduct four audits every month are exceeding the company s
expectations, and accountants who conduct two audits every month receive evaluations that indicate
they are meeting expectations. Performance standards are simple measurements used in the
performance appraisal process. Discipline and recognition appear to be opposite ends of the
performance management spectrum. Nevertheless, both are integral parts of a performance
management system. Effective performance appraisals consist of constructive feedback for
improvement as well as recognition for strong performance. The ability to address both within the
performance appraisal enables a balanced employee assessment. In addition, both constructive
feedback and recognition are requirements for determining employee skills and aptitude, training and
development needs. Another element of an effective appraisal is what effect performance has on

Examples Of Cliché s Work
Cliché A once clever word or phrase that has lost its impact through overuse. (Saylor.org, n.d.) A
cliché is like beating a dead horse . (Bad pun intended). During the seventies and eighties there were

trendy phrases at the time, but become so overused that they begin having the opposite effect. Jargon

Teleological Argument Analysis
The argument of choice that I ve decided to use is the argument for design (Teleological argument)
which states that complex objects themselves can very well prove the existence of powerful creator or
a God. The Teleological argument tries to simplify the idea with a watchmaker stating that all the
constantly moving cogs and devices in the watch prove the existence of a higher intelligence which is
something incomprehensible that any organism could perceive in the present life. This leads to the
idea of an uncaused causer since God is presumed to be the first entity that was able to put forth the
universe in an ongoing motion of time. Everything in the watch is meant to represent the universe,
planets, stars, and living organisms at work and in motion. The premise of this argument is
demonstrated through the claim of God ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the famous criticisms of the Teleological argument is that just because the Watch exists doesn t
necessarily proves that it has order since the idea of order is imposed by the human s definition of
pandemonium. Even if the universe if it was concluded that order was a part of our creation, the
analogy could not be fully plausible since the human race has no instances of any sort of universes
being created by a supernatural entity. Lastly, if the analogy came to acceptance, we would only be
able to see so much intelligence and good will as the horizon allow us. If the universe, specifically the
earth, grew as a plant of some kind then it broadcasts imperfections due to all the evil and suffering
that takes place throughout the entirety of the earth and its residents. The reconciliation of evil stands
to be the largest opposition in the face of an Omni benevolent God. I believe that the criticisms of the
teleological arguments are well stated since the thought of a universe having a purpose or order seems
to be irrelevant in my own point of

The Azusa Street revival of 1906 to 1909
The Azusa Street revival of 1906 to 1909 was an event that popularised the practice of charismatic
worship first in the United States and eventually throughout the Christian world. However,
representations of the revival in the early years of the 20th century were biased, and distorted the
events that occurred. Early believers portrayed the revival as an eschatological narrative in which the
power of God came down to earth and revolutionised the church, especially with the gift of tongues.
Pentecostal historians later mythologised Azusa Street representing the revival as the birthplace of
Pentecostalism. On the other hand, conservatives portrayed the events of the revival as unbiblical and
sinful, while secular critics depicted the revival ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore such powerful claims were backed up with personal testimonies and letters which gave
the periodical more credibility on top of accessibility seeing as it was distributed for free. According to
Gaston Espinosa The Apostolic Faith paper was chock full of stories , which described divine healings
and spirit possession that became a driving force in attracting people to the mission. Blumhofer adds
that this periodical was also an effective representation as it was able to resonate with widely scattered
people . She continues that it also gave independent Charismatic s , a context in which to relate their
beliefs. However the periodical itself later changed its tone in the hands of later writers who
represented the movement in a negative light, especially after Seymour, the founder of the mission,
lost control of the paper. In Parham s hands the Apostolic faith journal ridiculed the leader of Azusa
Street, William Seymour, claiming bluntly he is not the leader of this movement of Azusa mission .
Parham later used the paper to condemn the Azusa street revival altogether as a darky camp meeting
However, After Parham disassociated himself from the mission; the paper lost credibility and
authority. Thus the early oral traditions and later Pentecostal writers continued to shape the way that
Pentecostals perceived themselves, silencing critics from within.

Sternberg s Triangular Theory Of Commuality And...
Commitment has proven to be an integral component within most lasting relationships. Many scholars
have worked to uncover the reasoning behind what leads to increased commitment and relationship
longevity. Of course, with each romantic relationship, the reasons for why an individual or a couple
remains together can vary, leading to a wide variety of theories to be established to explain the
components of commitment. Theories include a focus on the investment theory of commitment,
perceived relationship satisfaction, relationship alternatives, and the rewards and costs of a
relationship in correlation to motivators behind commitment. The primary goal of this paper is to
examine the complexities of commitment in relation to the aforementioned theories for promoting
relationship longevity.
In order to best understand the role of commitment within already established romantic relationships,
it s necessary to look at the various theories concerning topics of commitment. First and foremost, the
work of Lemieux and Hale analyze Sternberg s Triangular Theory of Love, which serves as a strong
foundation for understanding the role of commitment within a romantic relationship. The
aforementioned theory states that love is composed of three parts: intimacy, passion, and commitment.
According to the studies pertaining to this theory, each of the three components change in prevalence
throughout the course of a relationship.

Oppression Is The Driving Force Behind The Violence
Oppression is the driving force behind the violence in Israel. It is based on a land dispute that led to
oppression and now the violence seen today. Israel is plagued with a cycle of violence and fear. There
are many factors behind the climate of terror that is taking place in Israel, but none as significant as
oppression. The establishment of Israel by Jews led to many changes for Palestinian Arabs, who were
already living in the area. Many of these changes were oppressive and intrusive to the Palestinian
Arabs way of life. As can be expected, wherever there is oppression, violence and fear normally
follow. Both sides have suffered losses amidst this violence. Jews claim they fled to Palestine to avoid
persecution and that establishing Israel as a Jewish state would be the only way to ensure their safety.
Yet their safety, and now the safety of Palestinian Arabs, are both unsure. In the late 1800 s, Jews
across Europe began fleeing to Palestine to avoid anti Semitism and persecution. During this era, there
was a movement known as the Zionist; the Zionists wanted to return to the Jewish Holy Land to
establish a Jewish state that would serve as a sanctuary for Jews. However, according to the State of
Israel Proclaimed (State), at this time the Zionist leadership was unable to persuade the Ottoman
Empire to grant them a charter. The following decades would see sporadic migration of Jews into
Palestine. World War I brought about more change in Palestine, including

would be for the NES or SNES. The characters in battle are always in black and white with a simple
black background which as a design choice works quite well as it doesn t distract the player from
dodging the enemies attacks and makes sure there s no way they can mistake any background element
for an attack they must dodge.
The enemy designs in the game are very unique and interesting, often representing some kind of
character trope, for example there is an enemy in the game named Aaron that is a horse with a
mermaid s tail that is obsessed with his muscles. When Aaron attacks the player, the player must move
out of the way from 2 arms on the side of the box that come up from the bottom. Every monster in the
game has specialised attacks like this, for example there is an enemy that has an obsession with
cleaning and his attack is water droplets flowing out from the middle of the screen that the player has
to avoid. This is a good design decision as it adds depth and intrigue to the characters in an extremely
simple way which will make the player interested to see what other attacks the monsters

Explain The Five Steps Of Correcting The Pao2 Level
Step one of the five steps approach to interpret the above values is to look at the PaO2 level which is
currently 70. Since the normal level is between 80 to 100 mm hg, the current PaO2 of 70 means Mary
is experiencing hypoxemia. However, the patient s current oxygen delivery is at 100% thus the nurse
needs to continue to monitor the patient closely. A strategy to correct the PaO2 level is correcting the
PaCO2 level first because as CO2 rises, PaO2 falls. The nurse can adjust the PEEP level and can be
increased to 6 or 7cm H20 since that will help keep the alveoli open to better the oxygenation for the
patient so we are able to eventually decrease the delivered O2 to protect the patient from any possible
oxygen toxicity. The second step is

Organizational Culture And Leadership Effectiveness
The military has always thrived on leadership; it has been the core of this organization and the
foundation that sustains it. Studies on organizational culture and leadership effectiveness have
continued to gain popularity in recent years. Wong (2003) stated that long before leadership became a
topic of discussion in the corporate, academic, or even public realm, militaries have been enamored by
leadership. Leadership in the military has always been held in high regard. A leader is anyone who by
virtue of assumed role or assigned responsibility inspires and influences people to accomplish
organizational goals Yet, in recent years, an ever increasing style of leadership has emerged; toxic
leadership. With military officials gaining negative attention, the Armed Forces determined that there
needed to be an army wide removal of toxic leaders and implementation of training that focuses on a
new leadership style; effective leadership.
Toxic leadership is defined as a leader who is destructive or harmful in nature, and has only concern
for personal interest. Toxic leadership is an ever increasing issue that has affected the U.S. Armed
Forces as well as many institutions of higher education and other organizations. . Toxic leadership
may be considered a form of oppression since it entails unjust treatment, cruelty (to an extent), and
mental pressure or distress. In order to capture the complexity of toxic leadership focus should be
placed on personality traits such as narcissism

The Biblical Allusion of Lot s Wife in Slaughterhouse-Five...
Kurt Vonnegut s novel Slaughterhouse Five, uses the biblical allusion of Lot s wife looking back on
the destroyed cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to parallel the story of Billy Pilgrim during the war and
his experience after, when he returns to the United States. Although the reference is brief, it has
profound implications to the portrayal of America during World War II, especially the bombing of
Dresden. Although Lot s wife s action dooms her to turn into a pillar of salt, the narrator emphasizes
her choice to indicate the importance of being compassionate and having hindsight. Ultimately,
Slaughterhouse Five critiques the American social attitude to disregard the unjust nature of its actions
in World War II. Furthermore, Vonnegut s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This attitude refuses to place blame on American government or soldiers for the massacre of over a
hundred thousand civilians. It makes slaughter socially acceptable and necessary. The attitude,
championed by Rumfoord, does more than ignore the value of those lives lost, it refuses to
acknowledge the right of the soldiers who participated and witnessed firebombing to receive an
explanation for their actions. And, in both cases, innocents die or are unable to move forward from the
event. The allusion of Sodom and Gomorrah to Dresden is not a perfect parallel. God punishes Sodom
and Gomorrah because the whole city teems with corruption and sinfulness, while Dresden represents
the Nazi empire, but is not an inherently sinful place. However, the death of each implicates a loss of
innocence. The Nazism is evil, but the people of Dresden represent a complicated evil. They may be
part of the Nazi empire, but they act in a morally acceptable and socially upstanding manner. This
imperfect parallel further gives evidence that America acts in an evil way, even in combating evil. The
novel illustrates this by the industry located in Dresden: The syrup was enriched with vitamins and
minerals. The syrup was for pregnant women (203). The text offers that Americans kill neither sinners

on courage. I began with How do you see this word affect your personal life, his first response to my

PART 1(BULLETS 1 2) Popular sovereignty is the governments control should be based off of the

principles of the united states of America. The root of popular sovereignty dates back to the 1600s,
when Hobbes, Rousseau, and Locke created these intellectual and philosophical views. These men as

Treatment Of Women And Community Members Essay
The Treatment of Women and LGBT+ Community Members Women and the LGBT+ community
members are continuing to feel uncomfortable and not valued in this chosen occupation, as they
continue to be challenged in unfair ways and are judged for more than being different. For this reason,
RCMP officers are denied the chance to advance their careers, or take on a more superior/leadership
role; bringing us right back to the glass ceiling effect. Not all places have women in non superior
roles; there are many places where they precede the men. This is why liberal feminism allows and
encourages individuals to use their own abilities, and the democratic process to help women and men
become more equal, including equal treatment and rights; not only in the eyes of the law (RCMP), but
in society, the home and the workplace.
To demonstrate, I had the privilege of going to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police depot back in

officially becoming an RCMP officer. I had the chance to view the facility and almost everything it
entails, I saw the different cadets there, women and men, and this is where I noticed how in each troop
there were more men than women in every troop I passed. This being said, I interviewed my family

It should be noted that public companies have more stringent disclosure and reporting requirements
than private companies. The Act plays a significant role in controlling disclosure through
remuneration report and voting on remuneration for listed companies. Moreover, the Act also has
provisions relating to the role, responsibilities and structure of boards and termination payments.
Under the Act, the managing director is appointed by the board of directors and the composition of the
managing director s remuneration package is also decided by the board of directors. The disclosure of
executive remuneration helps in reassuring investors that the board is negotiating with executives at

The disclosure of remuneration packages makes the investors aware about the incentives being laid

The Invention Essay
So You ve Just Come Up With A Million Dollar Idea Now What?
While there is no set formula on how a would be inventor can take their great idea from mind to

they move forward. If you think you have one of those great ideas, set aside all celebrations for the

warned, though: this isn t going to be easy.

When talking to potential partners, you re likely to get more valuable feedback on setting up a
company, manufacturing, distribution and other important elements of a startup.
A second (third, fourth and beyond) opinion should provide you with affirmation that your idea has
value, beyond what you ve imagined thus far. These outside opinions help you to chisel your idea into
something with real world applicability. Also, be prepared for the naysayers, who, although
discouraging at first, can also give you useful information.
3. Analyze Development And Production Costs
It s one thing to create a homemade prototype, quite another to put it into real production. How much
is it going to cost to perfect your prototype enough to actually manufacture it? How much will it cost
to produce each unit and who can handle that for you? Ideas are typically modified in the development
stage, meaning your original idea may evolve into something different or even spawn two or more
spinoff ideas, equally valuable and worth pursuing.
Although the technical aspects of bringing an invention to the production stage are tedious and
challenging, this is a crucial stage for you and will determine the economic feasibility of moving
forward. You need to figure out who you can trust, where your startup capital is going to come from
and whether or not you should form some type of company now. Depending on your educational level

Light Is A Form Of Energy And Composed Of Different...
Light is a form of energy and composed of different wavelengths. When the light exposed to an object,
the light could be reflected at the surface of the object (specular or diffuse), and it could be absorbed
or scattered within the object, or it could refract or totally transmitted through the object44, 45. The
wavelengths (colors) that are reflected, refracted or transmitted are perceived by receptor cells (i.e.
rods and cones) in the eye and recognized by the brain as a specific color. The wavelengths of visible
light range from approximately 400 to 700 nm45, 46. The wavelengths that are transmitted, refracted
or reflected create the color that is perceived and till about the translucency level of the material. If all
light is transmitted, the material will appear completely transparent. If all light is absorbed, the
material will appear completely opaque, and the color black is perceived. However, if some of the
wavelengths of visible light are absorbed and others reflected, refracted, or transmitted, the color that
is perceived corresponds to the wavelengths that are reflected, refracted, or transmitted, and the level
of translucency is depend on the amount of the light that transmitted through the material9, 44 46.
Moreover, the reflection of the light depends on the surface texture of the restoration. Thus, a smooth
surface increases the specular reflectance, in which the angulation of light reflection is equal to the
angle of the light source. This reveals more of

Well sweetie that was very rude of you to say, I know your sister is probably very thrilled to be going

For over 25 million years, the Great Barrier Reef has lived off of the northeastern coast of Australia.
The first human civilizations started around 5,000 years ago and industrialization of humans about 200
years ago (History of Humans, 2016). The human race s timeline is just a small fraction in comparison
to the reefs, but somehow humanity has managed completely derail mother nature in an

Romeo And Juliet Nightingale Symbol Essay
For the Nightingale is a Lark
Romeo and Juliet while laying in bed hear birds outside. When Romeo hears this he becomes
concerned. Both his and Juliet s reactions to this show very clearly how they are feeling in that
moment. However there is a much deeper meaning and slight foreshadowing when looking at the
symbolism within this scene. Relating directly to both of the birds referenced when they speak.
Juliet clearly shows that she wants him to stay when she says, It was the nightingale, and not the lark,
That pierce the fearful hollow of thine ear (3.5 2 3). This shows just how much Juliet wants him to
stay. However there is a much deeper symbolism within her words specifically pertaining to the
mention of the nightingale. The nightingale is known to sing of love and its connection to such, but

While the nightingales sing at the dead of night the Lark sings at dawn. It is a warning of the coming

Shakespeare has also referenced the lark in his sonnets. Sonnet 29 states, Like to the lark at break of

Examples Of Masculinity In Shakespeare s Plays
In the plays of William Shakespeare, male characters often express their masculinity through their
relationships with other characters. This masculinity often appears through the control they try to force
upon the other characters. In each of Shakespeare s plays, this control appears in various capacities. In
William Shakespeare s histories, conflicting masculinities are presented and the characters, especially
the title heroes, are forced to assert their masculinity. This can be seen in such histories such as Henry
V and Richard III as each of their masculine expressions are challenged by outside forces.
Shakespeare s histories heavily rely on the concept of masculinity through a royal lineage that is
controlled by patriarchal ancestry. This is seen especially in Henry V as Coppella Khan writes that

Separation Of Public Spaces In To Kill A Mockingbird By...
The South was a volatile place when concerning the separation of the white and black communities.
Laws were put into place to solidify the separation of the races while providing equal opportunity to
all. However, these laws, known as the Jim Crow laws, were ratified to give the illusion of equality
while allowing for separation to continue. Though the image these laws held gave the impression of
equality, while the people did not hold equal status. To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee explores the
racial tensions of separate but equal throughout the novel and how these ideas affected the daily lives
of those who lived during this time. Separation of public spaces and the relationships between the
people themselves are small examples of the realities of the laws effects on real people in the South.
The Jim Crow laws perpetuated the racial tension of the South rather than alleviating the problems by
sacrificing equality for the social norm of separation.
The physical separation of the white and black races was of great concern in the South and how each
of the races would interact with one another. This separation included preferential treatment of white
individuals over their black counterparts. While the people filed into the courthouse waiting for the
trial in To Kill a Mockingbird, the Negros, having waited for the white people to go upstairs, began to

Summary Of The Canterbury Tales By Geoffrey Chaucer
Geoffrey Chaucer wrote The Canterbury Tales, a collection of short tales in the 14th century. The
compilation of stories is told by pilgrims on the journey within the narrative as part of a game
proposed by the host. Each individual must tell two stories of their journey. My favorite pilgrim was
the Franklin. The Franklin was a gentry landowner, member of the nobility, who had extensive
holdings. He belonged to the middle class and was a man of leisure. Chaucer described him as White
as a daisy petal was his beard. A sanguine man, high colored and benign (line 342 343). The Franklin
sported a white beard and carried a dagger and a white silk purse. He had a cheerful personality and
was confident. His only reason to be on this pilgrimage was to enjoy himself. The Franklin was
traveling with the Man of Law. According to Chaucer he He loved a morning sop of cake in wine. He
lived for pleasure and had always done ( line 344). I think that Chaucer had a good opinion of the
Franklin. The way that Chaucer describes the Franklin makes the reader think that Chaucer likes him.
He says that The Franklin is calm, strong and an overall a cheerful guy. Chaucer also proves that he
thinks highly of the Franklin by saying, He was a model among landed gentry (line 369 370). He lives
to please others and has a house full of food. The Franklin, according to Chaucer, had an overall great
sense of hospitality. The Franklin s deadly sin was gluttony. He liked to overindulge himself

Anorectoplasty Essay
Definitive management of male rectourethral fistula
Historically, there have been many surgical techniques to repair anorectal malformations. These
include endorectal dissection, anterior perineal approaches, and many different types of anoplasties
However, most pediatric surgeons now use the posterior sagittal approach to repair these
malformations with or without laparotomy or laparoscopy ( Levitt and Pena, 2006). Posterior sagittal
anorectoplasty (PSARP) as described by pena and levitt ( Levitt and Pena, 2014):
A Foley catheter is inserted and the patient is placed in prone position with the pelvis elevated. The
incision is a posterior sagittal one, in between both buttocks, running from the middle portion of the
sacrum down to the anal dimple, which is electrically determined. The incision goes through skin,
subcutaneous tissue, parasagittal fibres, muscle complex and levator muscle. When the surgeon is
dealing with a rectourethral bulbar fistula, he expects to see a bulging rectum ... Show more content on

These multiple sutures serve the purpose of exerting uniform traction on the rectal mucosa to facilitate
the separation of the rectum from the urinary tract. The fascia that covers the rectum is removed,
creating the lateral planes of the rectum. The mucosa of the anterior rectal wall distal to the multiple
6/0 silk sutures is divided about 1 mm deep. The dissection continues between the rectum and urinary
tract in a submucosal plane for approximately 5 10 mm and then gradually becomes a full thickness
dissection, looking at the lateral planes until the rectum is completely separated from the urinary tract.
The separation of the urethra from the rectum is the most delicate part of the operation. Most of the
serious complications occur during this part of the procedure. The fistula site is closed with three or
four 6/0 long term absorbable

  • 2. Comparing The Birth Stories Of Matthew And Luke The profound birth narratives of Matthew and Luke clearly, and immediately, place Jesus as the Son of God. Both authors leave no room for doubt among readers that God orchestrates the birth of Jesus Christ. The basic premise within the narratives is also similar; Jesus is born in Bethlehem to the Virgin Mary, wife of Joseph. Soon after his birth, Jesus receives visitors who affirm his significance. The surety of Jesus divinity is established by God s usage of visions and angels in guiding the characters involved in the birth narratives. Jesus birth is repeatedly portrayed to be fulfilling the prophecies of the Old Testament. However, even though the narratives strongly emphasize Jesus sanctity, their underlying premise is quite peculiar for God s arrival on Earth. Instead of an entry into the world signified by grand celebrations and commemoration, the birth of Jesus occurs in an intimate setting. God plays a prominent role in birth narratives of Matthew and Luke. God s presence ensures that Joseph and Mary know how truly momentous the coming birth is. An angel appears to Joseph or Mary, depending on the Gospel, before Jesus birth and declare what is to come (New Revised Standard Version, Matthew.1.20; Luke 1.30). God s messages provide contextualization of Jesus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This process helps substantiate the claim of Jesus being the Messiah, foretold in the Old Testament. In both Gospels, Jesus lineage goes back to King David (Matthew. 1.6; Luke. 2.4). Jesus is born in Bethlehem, a town of great prophetic importance (Matthew. 2.5 2.6; Luke. 2.4). Another key element is the virgin birth of Jesus (Matthew. 1.23; Luke. 1.27). The birth to a virgin in the town of Bethlehem with linage back to King David is evidence for Jesus being the Messiah. Exporters typically prefer conservative measures when managing foreign receivables. Because of this, there is a tendency to lean on the side of caution. Three reasons for this conservatism are described below: 1. Fluctuation in exchange rates: Exchange rates of currencies of different countries fluctuate continuously and in a very random manner with the change in the demand and supply state of the concerned currency. That can translate the profit from the international business transaction into a loss or vice versa. Thus, the exporters dealing with foreign receivables should be conservative to avoid this risk. 2. The difference in the legal system: Different countries have different legal rules and policies for dealing with and managing the foreign accounts receivable. It is mostly harder for a business to pursue any overdue amounts from an international business due to the difference in the legal system. It is another reason for the conservative approaches of the exporters. 3. For instance, a performance standard for an accountant might state: Conduct two audits every 30 days. Studies on organizational culture and leadership effectiveness have continued to gain popularity in recent years. Wong (2003) stated that long before leadership became a topic of discussion in the corporate, academic, or even public realm, militaries have been enamored by leadership. Leadership in the military has always been held in high regard. A leader is anyone who by virtue of assumed role or assigned responsibility inspires and influences people to accomplish organizational goals Yet, in recent years, an ever increasing style of leadership has emerged; toxic leadership. • 25. The Biblical Allusion of Lot s Wife in Slaughterhouse-Five... Kurt Vonnegut s novel Slaughterhouse Five, uses the biblical allusion of Lot s wife looking back on the destroyed cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to parallel the story of Billy Pilgrim during the war and his experience after, when he returns to the United States. Although the reference is brief, it has profound implications to the portrayal of America during World War II, especially the bombing of Dresden. Although Lot s wife s action dooms her to turn into a pillar of salt, the narrator emphasizes her choice to indicate the importance of being compassionate and having hindsight. Ultimately, Slaughterhouse Five critiques the American social attitude to disregard the unjust nature of its actions in World War II. Furthermore, Vonnegut s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This attitude refuses to place blame on American government or soldiers for the massacre of over a hundred thousand civilians. It makes slaughter socially acceptable and necessary. The attitude, championed by Rumfoord, does more than ignore the value of those lives lost, it refuses to acknowledge the right of the soldiers who participated and witnessed firebombing to receive an explanation for their actions. And, in both cases, innocents die or are unable to move forward from the event. The allusion of Sodom and Gomorrah to Dresden is not a perfect parallel. God punishes Sodom and Gomorrah because the whole city teems with corruption and sinfulness, while Dresden represents the Nazi empire, but is not an inherently sinful place. However, the death of each implicates a loss of innocence. The Nazism is evil, but the people of Dresden represent a complicated evil. They may be part of the Nazi empire, but they act in a morally acceptable and socially upstanding manner. This imperfect parallel further gives evidence that America acts in an evil way, even in combating evil. For this reason, RCMP officers are denied the chance to advance their careers, or take on a more superior/leadership role; bringing us right back to the glass ceiling effect. When the light exposed to an object, the light could be reflected at the surface of the object (specular or diffuse), and it could be absorbed or scattered within the object, or it could refract or totally transmitted through the object44, 45. The wavelengths (colors) that are reflected, refracted or transmitted are perceived by receptor cells (i.e. rods and cones) in the eye and recognized by the brain as a specific color. The wavelengths of visible light range from approximately 400 to 700 nm45, 46. The wavelengths that are transmitted, refracted or reflected create the color that is perceived and till about the translucency level of the material. If all light is transmitted, the material will appear completely transparent. If all light is absorbed, the material will appear completely opaque, and the color black is perceived. However, if some of the wavelengths of visible light are absorbed and others reflected, refracted, or transmitted, the color that is perceived corresponds to the wavelengths that are reflected, refracted, or transmitted, and the level of translucency is depend on the amount of the light that transmitted through the material9, 44 46.
