Brian Snare Analysis
The intricate universe of mergers is often a chaotic endeavor for many musicians, one where few
artists have found success unless that artist s name is Brian Eno. But let it be a pair of Canadian
producers to subvert this notion. A master at exercising the dichotomy between electronic
intelligentsia and the dark confines of breakcore, Venetian Snares (Aaron Funk) teams up with
prolific producer Daniel Lanois, whose name is attached to projects like U2 s The Joshua Tree and
Brian Eno s Apollo Atmospheres Soundtracks. As two preeminent musical minds come together to
bounce ideas off one another, Venetian Snares and Daniel Lanois self titled project witnesses the
duo pulling in their respective sonic backgrounds to devise contemporary terrains of sound while
pushing each other s unique talents into untouchable acclivities.... Show more content on

Although largely improvised, almost every composition off this album follows a similar ebb n
flow like structure. Take the track Night Mxcmpv1 P74 for instance, Lanois initiates the listener
s experience with swathes of ambient bliss but is then kicked into full lunacy as Funk s zany drill
and bass peppers in and out of a veil of shimmering chords. This unusual marriage of synthetic
styles has only been accomplished by one other electronic artist prior, by none other than Aphex
Twin with his masterful body of work. With this unlikely masterpiece, Funk, a pillar of IDM, does
what he does best and finds that menacing place where synthetic drum and bass repeat, speed up,
then abruptly punctuate at the mercy of industrial whirls of high hats and paradoxically cool

Child Support Case Summary
Madison County DHR representative s testimony revealed that since the main issue is the arrears,
the custodial parent (CP), Ms. Foxhill, originally opened her case for child support services in
September 2014. At that time, the case was setup on the DHR s system for collection. DHR
instructed the non custodial parent (NCP) to begin making payments through the Child Support
Payment Center. Shortly thereafter on October 31, 2014, the CP closed her case with DHR. On
December 18, 2014, the CP reopened the child support case for collection. At that time, DHR ran a
spreadsheet in accordance with the CP s Affidavit of Past Due Support to determine the arrears and
interest in December when the case was reopened.

Van Staagen s testimony revealed that he and the CP were married in June 1992 and divorced in
May 2004 that left the CP with custody of the children and him paying child support of $1,323.00.
Mr. Van Staagen stated that from the date of the divorceuntil August 2011 he paid the $1,323.00
without ever missing a payment, completely supporting his children. Mr. Van Staagen quoted
from the agreement, page 2, Husband shall pay to the wife for the support and maintenance of the
children the sum of $1,323.00 per month until each child shall attain the age of nineteen years or
shall marry, whichever shall first occur. He stated this is a confusing sentence to him because it
does not say pay $1,323.00 a month until both children turn age 19. He stated he understand that
this may not be the intent of what the document should say but it clearly says until each child
obtain the age of 19; does not state anything about coming back to court to change the child
support after the first child turn 19 or anything like that. He stated it left both, he and the CP to
believe that once a child turn 19, the support should be reduced. To add to that, the NCP stated
when the oldest child was 17; she went away to school in August 2011. The NCP stated that in
August 2011, the CP requested him to give half the support to their oldest child and the other half to
the CP. That continued until the oldest child turn 19 at which time he stopped paying child support
directly to the oldest child;

The Positive Impact Of The Roaring Twenties
Post war years have significant impacts on a society s economy, bringing an abundance of
celebration, cherished moments and highlighting the end of the plagued events of war and loss.
With the end of such an afflicted time period, the arrival of solidarity and unification in society
usually follows. The Roaring Twentiesaccomplished many positive changes in Canadian society,
building the path it needs to follow to become a great nation and progress into the future. The
time period was regarded as a time of excitement and prosperity concerning the fads, fashions, and
entertainment, as well as the freedom many people gained with the end of the war. Furthermore,
the Roaring Twenties can also be seen as a time of positive change due to a variety of factors such
as Canadas developing autonomy and political relationship with Britain, pushing Canada to become
an independent nation. Another factor would be the Canadian industries and economy that
flourished during the 1920swhich allowed many Canadian businesses to prosper and enabled
Canadians to acquire and enjoy an improved quality of life. Finally, the change in societal status
and role of women established the starting point of gender equality between men and women, as
well as the recognition of the various contributions that women were capable of bringing to society.
Before the 1920s, Canada made decisions on its domestic matters independently. It was only during
the 1920s that Canada began to take an independent approach in

A Brief Biography of William Shakespeare
William Shakespeare, the man of many artistic talents, is still quite a mysterious figure in today
s world, mainly because of the lack of records on this man; but also because of his writings.
According to what little the Holy Trinity Church had documented on William Shakespeare, the
legal and business transactions including some theatrical and Court documents as well as his life
s work, can be used to put the little bits of information given to us to see the basic overview of this
man s life, use it to see the Globe Theater where he worked as a playwright and an actor, as well as
what the Elizabethan Era that he lived in was like.
Elizabethan England Era, or the Golden Age in England, started in 1558 when Queen Elizabeth
succeeded her Catholic sister Mary I and re established the Protestant Anglican Church. During this
Era William Shakespeare was born in Stratford upon Avon on April 23, 1564 to a John
Shakespeare, a glover and leather merchant, and Mary Arden, a landed local heiress. Three days
later, on April 26, 1564 William Shakespeare was baptized in the Holy Trinity Church. William
Shakespeare was the third oldest out of the eight children born into the Shakespeare s family. In the
1570 s during the excommunication of Queen Elizabeth 1 from the Catholic Church, Shakespeare s
fathers lost most of his money.
With the loss of their fortune, Shakespeare s father s job as a Stratford official would have been
able to give William a waiver of tuition; which would explain

Huburt Watches Case Study
Course Name: Market Management Student Number: 2014104 Purpose of the paper This paper
will highlight how Hublot watches use the elements of the marketing mix to target its position and
to achieve its competitive force. The essay is composed of two main parts. The first part includes
the analysis of the segmentation and target of Hublot watches and its major competitors. The
second part is adopting marketing mix (4P) to illustrate how the company differentiate itself from
competitors to satisfy costumers, then to enhance its market share percent and sales. Background

Hublot segment its target market by demographics which illustrate different customers attitudes.
According to Dubois et al. (2001: 35), there are three types of customers. The first is Elitist s
Group , customers in this group state that luxury product must be small educated, sophisticated
and refined. And it should differentiate itself from others. It is indeed expensive and cannot be
mass distributed (ibid). The second type is Democratic group that customers in this section
consider the luxury should be mass distributed and accessible to consumers. To appreciate luxury
goods no special education is required, this section do not consider luxury should be reserved to
refined people. Additionally, they think that it is not the word of good taste or differentiation, it is
also not necessary to be expensive. The customers in this section has being positive to luxury
(ibid). While the last section should be the Distant group , which means customers do not have a
negative attitude towards luxury, they consider luxury is another world where they do not belong
to. In fact, luxury does not attract them, also they cannot find out any value, attribute or relevance,
especially useless and too expensive. They report that more taxes should be paid from luxury
(ibid). Thus, based on the customers attitudes, Hublot mainly focuses on the Democratic group
which can be shown in Appendix 1 (Gautschi, 2005: 9) and Appendix 2 (ibid). Hublot s products are

My Life Of My Mother
Literacy has always been close to my identity as a person. My mother wanted the best for her
children, and therefore would sing and read to us as soon as we were born. She encouraged out
love of words and books by taking us to the library for reading time and always seemed to find
the most amazing books for us to explore. My mother is very musically gifted, so songs were
part of our daily routine. There are still little songs that pop into my head about daily tasks that
she created to help us learn and make work and learning fun. When I grew a bit older, around the
age of four, my mother formed a group with other women in our neighborhood to form a
preschool. They used the Joy School curriculum and took turns having all of us over to their homes
so that we could learn and play together. I remember there was lots of music, readingmany books,
playing all sorts of games, and a yearly Christmas program. Around this time, I began to learn
about phonics and loved figuring out which letters made which sounds. My mother tells me that
I liked to rhyme a lot as a little child because I found it fun. She said she thinks this is when my
love of poetry started to develop. As I transitioned into early elementary school, I was well
prepared to enter Kindergarten. Because I have always been pretty independent and self driven, my
mother did not really have to push me to read. I started reading the summer before Kindergarten
and knew most sight words and how to sound out words

The Inquiry Question
2.1The Inquiry Question
What is your inquiry question and how does it relate to the improved learning of your students?
My question for Inquiry is:
How can I differentiate Mathematics in order to support and extend students?
By differentiating the numeracy program, all students needs will be targeted by exposing students
to outcomes and activities, which are achievable and challenging for students. The focus learning
area for each lesson and group of learners will be tailored to suit the individual learning needs of the
students as will the set tasks associated with the learning focus. Students will be supported by the
class teacher and the strategies put in place within each lesson. The purpose of differentiating is to
engage students within both instruction and learning in the classroom (The Literacy Numeracy
Secretariat, 2008). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The effective practice I observed that will help with my own project and future teaching was
seeing a very traditional style of lesson, that amalgamated modern practice of short mini lessons
inside of a traditional style of Math classroom.
What impact has this project had on teaching and learning?
It was valuable to see an experienced and leading teacher at the school using a concise learning
intention for the students. They understood what the framework for their success would be defined
as and thus they could work towards this goal.
What impact has this project had on teaching and learning?
The main impact this lesson had on my project was seeing tasks set that catered for each student.
For example one expectation was for the students to choose their own question to answer from a
range of different questions that all varied in complexity and difficulty, and to answer them in four
different ways. I will attempt to use this style of challenging my students into future lessons.

The Importance Of The Right To Privacy
Property is paramount regarding the individual rights of citizens. United States Founders considered
it as the foundation of freedom and prosperity. In fact, James Madison stated government is
instituted to protect property of every sort...This being the end of government, that alone is just
government, which impartially secures to every man, whatever is his own. Originally, the right for
citizens to freely acquire, use, and dispose of propertywas protected by common law, state law and
the constitution. However, as the nation grew and this concept became more complex, property
rights have been severely compromised. For instance, there is much disagreement on what the right
to privacy concept within the Fourth Amendment of the Constitution actually protects.
Originally, the Court tended to view the right to privacy as place orientated and property based
(739). This narrow range of protections was understandable but was limited primarily to criminal
procedure, specifically the protections against search and seizures. For example, the courts
repeatedly use the proverb A man s home is his castle , however, this concept is explicitly place
orientated and property based. The issue with this narrow view of property is that it fails to protect
property that is non physical, such as an original concept, copyright material, music and other
entities that were not necessarily factors in the 18th century. Rossum acknowledges this issue
stating, Anything less than physical...fell

Pulmonary Valve Syndrome Research Paper
Pulmonary Valve Stenosis, Pediatric
Pulmonary valve stenosis is a heart problem some children are born with (congenital heart defect).
This defect is a stiffening or narrowing (stenosis) of a one way valve in the heart. It is the valve
that allows blood to flow from the pumping chamber on the right side of the heart (right ventricle)
into the blood vessel that carries blood to the lungs. If not enough blood is flowing through the
valve, not enough oxygen will get into your child s blood. The child s heart will also be forced to
work harder.
Pulmonary valve stenosis develops during the first 8 weeks as a child is growing inside the womb.
It sometimes develops with other types of heart abnormalities. Pulmonary valve stenosis can range

A Corporate Form For The Mission Of Your Social Enterprise
Deciding on a corporate form to protect the mission of your social enterprise is important, but
possibly more important is ensuring that the corporate governance of your enterprise will allow
for that mission to be protected and preserved. For CBAUI, we have incorporated several
provisions within our charter and other aspects of our corporate governance to preserve our goal
to provide online academic services to L SES students in the greater New York City Area.

As a New York C Corporation, our corporate form does not formally provide mechanisms to
preserve our mission. However, CBAUI has taken steps to incorporate in a state that has a

The advisory council does not have voting privileges on the board, however they can submit
reports to the Board, as well as include items on the agenda.
FINANCING We have set an aggressive schedule for growth in provision of services as well as
expansion of our customer base from L SES students to students who are able to pay at market for
tutoring and college preparation services.
A.Company Financing Strategy
CBAUI began with seed capital from the founders family, friends and community. They believed
that there must be a better way to connect students who may need additional academic support with
students who are excelling in these areas. With their help, along with an angel investment, our
venture began with only $100,000. The future of CBAUI depends on continued investment until the
revenue generating areas of our enterprise are profitable.
1.Impact Investors
One of the main ways that our enterprise differs from other tutoring programs now available to
students is the online component. To build that technology out into a platform that is accessible,
effective and enjoyable to use, we need capital in addition to our current funding. An investment of
$500,000 $2,000,000 would allow us to hire the professionals necessary to build proprietary web
and mobile based platforms that would allow our tutors to communicate with our scholars remotely.
We would also provide additional modules for evaluation and building on the skills and concepts

David Monet
The first painting that I found to be interesting was The Cliff, Etretat, Sunset. The painting was
created by Claude Monet. Monet painted this in 1882 1883. It is oil on canvas and the picture
plane is 23 13/16 inches by 32 3/16 inches. This original of this painting can be found in the
European art collection at the North Carolina Museum of Art. The paintingcan be categorized with
the other European art works because it was painted in Normandy, France. It can also be
categorized as European art because Monet is French. While The Cliff, Etretat, Sunset can be
classified as European art, it can also be categorized as impressionist style art. The formal
theorists would state that the brushstrokes of this naturalistic painting were rushed and loose, but
still smooth. This painting is a combination of a lot of colors. It has a blue sky, with shades of
yellow and green lighting it up, white clouds litter the sky. Light shades of pink and purple are
painted at the horizon line, as well as a small circle of orange which sits directly on the horizon
line. The small circle of orange represents the sun, it is set on the right side of the painting and
compared to the cliff the scale of the sun is miniscule, which makes it seem like it is set further
back. The cliff itself is a combination of curved lines. The different shades of blue and the hues of

Self driving cars are on the way. Soon, you ll be able to purchase a fully autonomous vehicle, jump
in and leave the driving to computers. Play games, read a book or recline your seat and nap your
self driving car will transport you safely to your journey s end.
Autonomous driving features such as adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist are already
included in many new vehicles, offering motorists a harbinger of what s to come.
By 2020, the first fully autonomous vehicles are expected to deploy on America s roadways.
Consumers, however, are not sharing the same enthusiasm owned by self driving proponents of
autonomous vehicle technology. Indeed, three out of four Americans surveyed by AAA say that
they are afraid to ride in a self driving vehicle.
Decades of Autonomous Vehicle Testing
Before we examine the AAA survey, we need to gain context based on background.
Experiments on self driving vehicles have been ongoing for decades. For example, beginning in the
1980s, a German researcher at a Munich university, Ernst Dickmanns, built the world s first robotic
car. Those earlier models required human intervention to control engine throttle and braking. By
1995, Dickmanns team launched the first fully autonomous vehicle, a Mercedes Benz S Class and
inaugurated it on a 1,000 mile round tripper from Munich to Denmark and back, including nearly
100 miles of human free control.(2)

How Selection On Behavior Shapes Brain Investment
Understanding how selection on behavior shapes brain investment is a major question in the
analysis of the evolution of animal sociality [Szathmary and Maynard Smith, 1995; Edelman and
Changeux, 2001; Ricklefs, 2004; Gronenberg and Riveros, 2009]. Neural tissue is energetically
expensive and therefore brainregions should only enlarge when needed to meet functional demands
[Niven and Laughlin, 2008]. The social brain hypothesis posits that social interactions are so
cognitively demanding that social environment selects for enhanced neural development
[Humphrey, 1976; Dunbar and Shultz, 2007]. Studies supporting the social brain hypothesis
usually rely on comparative analyses across taxa with varying levels of social complexity and use...

To date only two brain investment studies on solitary and facultatively social bees are reported. A
study on solitary bees, Osmia lignaria found that adults emerge with neuronal development typical
of experienced workers in advanced eusocial insect species, but also found that mushroom body
neuropil volume further increased with foraging experience [Withers et al., 2007]. These results
confirm that mushroom bodies are important for cognitive processes in solitary antecedents, but
cannot inform us on the role of social experience on neuropil investment. Smith et al. [2010]
examined brain size and development using the facultatively social bee Megalopta genalis, a
species with both solitary and primitively social colonies in the same populations. Mushroom
body size increased with foraging behavior in solitary individuals and workers compared to newly
emerged M. genalis females, but even greater mushroom body development was found in queens.
Smith et al. [2010] attributed enhanced growth of the mushroom body cortex to maintaining
behavioral dominance. Much like obligately eusocial bees, however, Megalopta are bees with
distinct reproductive (queens) and foraging (workers) roles and therefore the relative roles of
foraging and social experience are not

sometimes played with his back turned to other musicians and his audience as if he had
something to hide. Sometimes he even got up and walked out in the middle of his gig which

when he went to meet the devil down at the crossroad to exchange for his soul to be an excellent

District Judge Carl Barbier blamed the company s gross negligence for the explosion of the oil
rig (Businessweek.com, 2015). After the damage was done the chief executive officer Tony
Hayward became a household name. His initial response to the spill was I just want my life back.
This statement was taken with great criticism. People were outraged that the response was so
selfish and that the chief only seemed to care about himself instead of the families that were
involved and the ethical implementations of such a disastrous event. The chief eventually came out
with a well crafted seemingly autonomous response to the public with a very formal I m sorry
(Cnn.com, 2010).
The backlash came hard and swift. The view from the general public seemed that BP did not do
enough in the initial response of the oil spill. It seemed like the company had a systemic systematic
approach to business that resulted in myriad environmental and worker safety violations
(Citizen.org, n.d). British Petroleum was a repeat corporate criminal and the consensus seemed to
believe this company would take shortcuts and risk human safety for business profit. It seemed as
though this company did not have categorical imperative to act with responsibility to the
environment or its worker s safety. Some blame the company s lack of business ethics came from an
ethical relativism that resides from the company s home country of Britain. In today s global

exposure to light and can capture that reality on to metal or paper. From then on, many
photographers and scientists developed photography in to what it is now. There are many
significant aspects of photography in its first hundred years of history that formed and shaped the
basis of photographytechnically and artistically. Personally, the most significant aspects of the
photograph lie in its beginning when it all first started with the daguerreotypes and the calotype
that opened the world of photography which have lead the world to be what it is now.
The first widely usable photographic processes that was introduced to the public were the
daguerreotype and the calotype. There were precedents before the daguerreotype and calotype but
it wasn t commercially used and was more close to a research rather than an art form. Each method
produced technically different outcomes by using different methods but they devoted to the same
result: both processes would develop photography into what we recognize today as photography.
The two methods would inspired wide use of the camera, which presented problems with the
photographic technique. By having people solve these problems, the photography developed from
its early stage, big in size and complicated procedures, to the modern camera that we use, which are
simple and easy to use. Even though daguerreotype and calotype were developed during

Analysis Of Hajime Isayama s Novel Attack On Titan
Graphic artist Hajime Isayama s best selling novel, Attack on Titan, illustrates the story of a
walled community that protects its citizens from gigantic humanoids Titans that consume
humans (Isayama, 2014). Hot headed 13 year old Eren Jäger features as the main protagonist,
who pledges his life to the military at the age of 11 to defeat the Titans. Eren s noble dedication
is fueled by the multiple traumas he experienced in his childhood. From enduring family risk
factors such as becoming orphaned at age 8, to community risk factors such as lack of support for
an overzealous pre teen soldier, Eren exhibits increased vulnerability to developing multiple types
of psychopathy. On the other hand, Eren eventually finds himself a tight knit group of friends and
new parental figure, which together produce protective factors such as supportive relationships, as
well as physical and psychological safety. An analysis of Eren s intra and inter personal
experiences suggests his likelihood to developing several types of psychopathy.
The multidimensional integrative approach to psychopathology indicates Eren s vulnerability to
developing psychological disorders exists in biological, psychological, emotional, and
developmental categories (Barlow et al., 2017). The novel hints at Eren s allegedly dead father, Dr.
Grisha Jäger exhibiting elements of schizophrenia as he hallucinated about Titans from working as
a doctor during Titan battles (Isayama, 2014). Subsequently, the diathesis

Common Obstructive Lung Diseases That Affects Adults And...
Introduction:
Asthma is one of the common obstructive lung diseases that affects adults and children. According
to centers of diseases control, approximately 26.8 million people are suffering from asthma [].
Asthma is hard to diagnose in early stages because it doesn t have obvious early symptoms. Studies
revealed that inflammatory cells increase in the small airways causing dysfunction in the
respiratory system, often before the onset of symptoms or changes in spirometry or imaging[1].
Despite the importance of small airways in respiratory system evaluation, but they are hard to

Until now, early detection for respiratory system disease remains one of the challenges for patients
who suffer from asthma or COPD. Asthma and Forced oscillation technique
Asthma is a chronic lung disease which inflames and narrows the respiratory system airways. It
causes shortness of breath, coughing, and chest tightness [8]. The airways are typically uniform
circular tubes that carry air through the respiratory system. Asthma causes these airways to inflame
and narrow, leading to changes in the characteristic of the airways[8]. According to Kirchhoff s
Theory for the circular tube, the radius of the tube affects the propagation of sound in a uniform
circular tube[9]. The same concept can be applied to airways in the respiratory system, when
asthma alters airway characteristics, it causes changes in the propagation of the soundwave and
changes in the measured impedance, this is called Forced Oscillation technique. Previous data
revealed that through Forced Oscillation Technique we can distinguish between healthy respiratory
systems and dysfunction respiratory systems [4 7]. Forced Oscillation Technique allows the
assessment of respiratory system impedance without the need for active cooperation from patients
which make this a suitable technique for infants and children[10]. Previous studies have obtained
reference values for Rrs and Xrs from adults and children population [11 14]. The

Contradictions in Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales Essay
Contradictions in Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales There is no question that contradictory values
make up a major component of The Canterbury Tales. Fate vs. Fortuna, knowledge vs. experience
and love vs. hate all embody Chaucer s famous work. These contrasting themes are an integral part
of the complexity and sophistication of the book, as they provide for an ironic dichotomy to the
creative plot development and undermine the superficial assumptions that might be made. The
combination of completely contradictory motifs leads to the unusual stories and outcomes that
come to play out in the tales. And these outcomes draw focus on the larger universal issues that in
many cases transcend the boundaries of vernacular periods to all of... Show more content on

In the debate, a number of different options have emerged. Some, like medieval author Paul
Ruggiers, argue that it is impossible to determine the Prioress?s attitude and that, ?we must be
satisfied with ambiguity.? Others like writer Victoria Wickham argue the most popular belief, that
the Prioress?s bigotry is without question and readers should be more concerned about the degree
rather than the fact itself. But there is another possibility. Edwards and Spector, two prominent
medieval scholars, put aside the issue of racism temporarily and instead offer an alternative
interpretation on the very nature of Chaucer?s love hate contradiction in the Prioress?s tale. They
argue that the love vs. hate contradiction is not dependent on outside forces, but is actually an
internal conflict within the Prioress herself. Consequently, the individuals and subsequent groups in
her tale are not specific characters but culturally influenced manifestations representing separate
issues. In this way her personality becomes the allegory of her tale, making specific references
within her story irrelevant to her true attitude. In this writer?s opinion, popular attitudes on the
nature of the love hate contradiction in the Prioress?s tale are wrong; Edwards and Stevens help
prove this. Rather than considering the most obvious stand alone factors of love and hate in the
story, specifically the description of the Prioress and her affinity for Christianity vs. the evil

With many different religious, ethnic, and social groups, the Republic of India is a unique and
diverse state. Since gaining independence, India has faced a challenge of encouraging the
variegated people within its borders to embrace and celebrate a common Indian identity even while
nurturing their distinct cultures and traditions. This diversity is reflected throughout social and
political challenges in Indian society. Although the different federal states are given a certain

In general, however, the Indian government still maintains a great amount of control over the
electricity sector. Its centralized control over the sector remains largely intact and is directly
accountable by the government to the people, thus indicative of a responsible government. With
an annual population growth of 1.3 percent (United Nations 2013), India s energy needs are
growing, especially in regards to electricity. Because new energy gains require multiples of power
use, for the Indian economy to expand, electricity production has to rise more rapidly than total
output. Thus far, areas of India remain in the dark: the rise of 122 percent in [electric] generation
[has been] insufficient for continued expansion (DeVotta, 138). Still, the electricity sector has
grown substantially since independence. Installed capacity in 1950 was 1,713 megawatts; by 2002
it had grown to 104,918 megawatts (Kale 2004). However, per capita annual electricity
consumption, which increased from approximately 13 kilowatt hours in 1951 to 365 kilowatt hours
in 2001, remains low. At the federal level, India s government has initiated a major policy initiative

The Effect Of Coffee Rust Essay
Also, recent low prices have restrained investment, which in turn leads to poor management
practices and strategies. In some cases, old trees have yet to be replaced, and pruning and care
regimens are neglected or performed poorly due to lack of labor (Magrath 2014). The lack of
investment is important for both finance and education. Smaller farmers often do not have enough
money to gain access to resources that could help in instructing them how to use the land and
regenerate their crops (Wakefield 2015).
A few promising solutions exist for mitigating the effects of coffeerust. A few of them include
government support, management options, improved technology and information sharing systems,
and changing social perceptions of coffee.
One possible way to indirectly prevent coffee rust from spreading to epidemic levels is for the
government to provide some support to farmers. Government subsidies for seeds, fertilizers, and
pesticides have the potential to help farmers cope with the investment difficulties they currently
face (Stone 2014).
There is some debate over whether full sun or shade coffee provides more protection against
coffee rust. Rust is easier to control on plants in full sun, as most of the time the coffee planted in
full sun are large plantations that are spaced farther apart. This allows for easier application of
fungicides. Farther spacing also allows for wind to blow within and throughout the coffee plants,
drying them and preventing free standing water

Growth Strategies for Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston
If we at Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston (OCB) intend to be a profitable business with plans

business. First we need to get back to the very basics and write a business plan! The Information
contained in a business plan will help us to determine who we are, where we want to go, and how
we intend to get there. This basic information will bring us focus, and act as a guide for our actions
in the future. By defining our intended strategies for management, operations, sales, marketing,
finance, competition, etc. we will then have what is necessary to layout a clear path for our future.

These trends show that the market is growing, therefore the opportunity for OCB to increase sales
is good, unfortunately on the other side of the equation costs are increasing. If we look at the
simple formula for calculating profits, (Total Sales Total Costs = Profits) then we must either
reduce our costs or increase our sales if we are to reverse our dropping profits trend.
We must consider new ideas that will return us to financial health once again. Listed below are
some examples of organization changes / structures that we should consider.
1. Maintain the same business model but invest in incremental procedural changes to improve
efficiency. Ease into change by forming LEAN teams to address critical issues first, like controlling
costs and increasing efficiency.
2. Merge OCB with a large Physician Practice Management (PPM) organization and adopt their
proven business models, strategies, and methods, to optimize all aspects of the business. Although
tempting, the potential tradeoffs could include binding agreements, a complete reorganization, of
OCB to match the new PPM model. A change of such magnitude would be disruptive and
negatively impact revenue, reputation, and may force out valuable personnel. Additionally
surrender of control, and loss of Independence is not appealing to me. The potential for
improvement is great, but the potential risks may outweigh the reward.
3. Maintain the similar business

U.s. Federal Law Enforcement Agencies
Terrorism has always existed in American policing, and while the groups committing these acts
have changed, their intentions have not. Their intentions being to cause maximum fear and
scare those who they target into doing and following their ideology. In the 1970 s and 1980 s in
America, the main terrorist groups were associated with the environmental movement and race
based groups, while other parts of the world were dealing with Islamic extremists, were
committing terrorist acts across the Middle East without much intervention from the United
States. In fact the group Al Qaeda, who attacked the World Trade Centers in 1993 and 2001,
found its roots in the 1980 s fighting the Soviet Union in Afghanistan with weapons supplied by
the Central Intelligence Agency. While the U.S. Federal Law Enforcement agencies knew of
these groups, they underestimated the capabilities of lone wolf, small cell, and whole terrorist
organizations. This was due to the fact that the Federal Law Enforcement agencies top priority
was general crime such as organized crimes and white collar crime. In the 1900 s and early 2000
s a series of events would bring a change in priorities for Federal Law Enforcement, namely the
Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), which was on the brink of being dissolved. The Inspector

Elephant the movie Essay
Gus Van Sant s Elephant was at once critically praised and denounced by both film reviewers and
filmgoers alike. The cinematography takes you on a waltz throughout a seemingly typical day at an
unnamed high school, stopping through the journey to focus on the stereotypes of school. The
jock, the quirky artist, the cliqued girls, the skateboarder, they are all represented and representative
of his film. Van Sant created a film, seemingly without a staunch opinion on the horrors of the

Van Sant s film aestheticizes the reality of high school, focusing on its beauty and character, and
ignoring the underlying grime inherent on most campuses. The halls and yard of the school are
kept in immaculate condition, staying unnaturally clean, almost sterile for a school. Despite this
seeming glorification of the building, the hallways are kept as a constant secondary to the sharply
focused characters the camera constantly follows. It takes the focus away from the bare walls and
empty hallways and places it solely on the students. The film isn t about the location that it
occurred, but the people that it happened to. The focus is on the students of the film, both literally
and figuratively. The camera seems to never stop moving, save for brief pauses that seem to rest
the viewer. There is little extraneous distraction from the characters as they walk down the hall; the
only time something distracts from the center of attention is when it is repeated again as the film
goes through its several cycles that repeat scenes from different points of view.
The film intertwines the lives of its multiple points of view. They all seem to be unrelated, but they
ultimately tie together in a cohesive storyline that unravels into its unavoidable conclusion. Each

Analysis Of From In A Green Night By Derek Walcott
In Derek Walcott s From in a Green Night: A Far Cry from Africa, the author explains and dives
into the topic of colonialism and self reflection through his own experiences of being trapped
between his Kenyan and British descent. Similar to Fanon s concept of complicity, Walcott also
understands both sides of the story in an unbiased manner. In his poem, he uses imagery to describe
the violent past in which Kenyans and British people have committed to each other, the savage
nature of humans during colonization, and his own internal speech where he himself is confused of
his cultural and social identity. This paper will explore the core concepts of Walcott s writing and
further explain it through Fanon s lens to amplify the meaning of the poem.
To begin, Walcott uses imagery to describe the prominent violence in the history between colonized
Kenya and the British colonists. He quickly describes that Kenya s Kikuyus are not the only ones
to blame in this scenario when he says, Corpses are scattered through a paradise. / Only the worm,
colonel of carrion, cries: / Waste no compassion on these separate dead! (4 6). In these stanzas, it is
easy to see that Walcott is unbiased in his opinion on colonialism. Even though he states that
Africa is a paradise that is scattered with corpses (4), he also believes that the colonists are not the
only ones to blame. This relates back to Fanon s concept of complicity in which two nations with a
violent, apocalyptic past come together to

Soccer Is The Greatest Sport Essay
There are many sports in the world today, and each involves different skills in order to play. This
brings a controversial question then: which sport is the greatest? Soccer is the greatest sport due
to the fact that soccer is also an easy sport to learn. Almost every child played soccer when they
were little. There are no true height requirements in order to playsoccer. You do not have to be the
tallest playerout there to be the best. One of the most rewarding things about soccer is that it is a
team sport, which requires players to work together. One of the main concerns for parents when
their kids play a sport is how much will the sport cost? Soccer is one of the cheapest sports.
Unlike many other sports, soccer is one of the only sports where the clock doesn t stop.
Therefore, soccer is the greatest sport. One of the interviewees, Garrett (age 20), said, I do not
think that soccer is the greatest sport. It gets overshadowed by other sports, for example, baseball
and football. In this paper, I will explain why soccer is the greatest sport.
First of all, soccer is the greatest sport because it is a very easy sport to learn. If children are
taught the rules at a young age, then anyone can understand them. In my personal experience, the
rules for soccer were easy to learn because there were not too many to learn. I had to work very
hard to develop the skills for soccer. I was a referee for little kids and almost all of them

More than obesity and health care is wrong with America. Not only does the health care system

How A Person s Memory Works Memory
Alexis Marie Robinson Mrs Reilly English III Honors Period 6 09 Of March 2015 How A Person
s Memory Works Memory is a concept that refers to the process of remembering. Recalling
memories uses the same neurological paths humans use originally to sense the experience which in
result, almost recreates the event. Researchers believe memoryis a brain wide process, meaning that
memory is not restricted to one area of the brain. Scent is one of the strongest senses tied to
memory. Humans receive information through the five senses: 1sight, smell, taste, touch, and
sound. Someone can imagine how different a memory would be for a person if one of they did not
have one of their senses sight, sound, smell whatever the sense was that ties them closely to the
memory the most. Memories are just different ways people store and remember various things they
have sensed throughout life.
2It should be known that a single memory is a complex construction. For example, when people
think of a simple object the brain retrieves the objects name, its shape, function, and anything else
that closely ties itself to that object. 2Each part of this memory is from a different region of the
brain. 3(Mohs and Turkington) As stated by April Holladay, memories of concepts and ideas are
related to sense experiences because we extract the essence from sensed experiences to form
generalized concepts. And in the past, many experts explained memory as a filing cabinet full of
memory folders where

The members of the Duke Lacrosse team did not have much support from the faculty as the

the Duke Lacrosse team was tremendous. The President of the University Richard Brodhead
canceled the entire season and called the situation sickening and repulsive (Jennings, 2009, p. 568).
Once again the support from the highest level at Duke University was not there for the three
members of the lacrosse team at the center of the allegations. The African American accuser Crystal
Mangum had support from the NAACP, Reverend Jesse Jackson, and the Durham County District
Attorney Mike Nifong. The coach of the team also resigned from his job as the season was

convicting these white males of the allegations they faced from the accuser. The unethical manner
in which Mike Nifong proceeded in the investigation tested the judicial system. The tactics that
were used in the case undermined that you are innocent until proven guilty. A Duke was facing a

Public Sphere And Soundbite Analysis
In chapter three (page 105) McKee highlighted that the public sphere contains too much spectacle .
From a modern perspective, it seems that the public sphere promotes a short attention span in
consumers. Ideas aren t explored in detail or at length, they re packaged as thirty second grabs .
McKee also talks about us human beings, suffering from a curse of soundbites (Slayden and
Whillock 1999). The terms short attention span and soundbite are the two most popular terms in our
discussions about the public sphere. This evidently show us that the appearance is more important
to us than anything else and how much more we concentrate on how the media approach
everything that is surrounding us, rather than having our personal opinions.

Transport Disadvantage And The Regional Transport Essay
Introduction It is widely acknowledged that Northern Ireland has suffered from decades of
underinvestment in its roads and public transport (RTS, Department for Regional Development
2002). Northern Irelands public transport networks are lacking in many areas of the country. To
address key issues surrounding a lack of adequate transport provision, and to combat the growing
problems of car dependence and transport disadvantage, the Northern Ireland Assembly
commissioned the Regional Development Strategy and the Regional Transport Strategy. This
essay will discuss the nature of transport disadvantage, identify the groups affected by transport
disadvantage, and evaluate and discuss the policies proposed by the Regional Transport
Strategy, and how they will attempt to remedy the problems faced by these disadvantaged
groups. What is Transport Disadvantage? Transport disadvantaged groups can be identified as
individuals and families in the society that cannot easily travel to the opportunities they would
like to use. (Warren, Paula 2011). Transport disadvantage can be more easily defined as the
difficulty in accessing transport through a result of cost, location, disability or age. Transport
disadvantage in Northern Ireland has been exacerbated by an increase in car dependency rates
and less investment in local transport services for socially disadvantaged groups. The number of
journeys mad by car in Northern Ireland accounted for 72% of all journeys made in 2012 2014, an

But the concept of free trade has had many barriers to over come. Including government practices

2009). This in itself shows the high standards of sustainability can be made from free trade
(Gidney, M. 2009). Fair trade provides two key benefits that can help with the current world
economic crisis. First it provides sustained benefits for producers that can help maintain their
business through fluctuations of the world market (Gidney, M. 2009). Second, fair trade helps to
maintain fair prices, additional social premium, and long term partnerships that help provide better
living standards for millions of people in over 60 countries (Gidney, M. 2009). Free trade cannot
grow without the aid of governments to help promote and sustain it. Governments must support
free trade by first modifying current trade policies to remove barriers against free trade. Lastly
governments must act and enforce regulations to protect against unfair trade practices.
What can Governments do to promote free trade? The basis of free trade is that in a growing
economy the comparative advantage shows that resources flow from lower productivity to those
with higher productivity (Carbaugh, 2009). Along with increased employment in developing
countries and higher standard of living, consumers benefit from more diversity on the market and

Mass Shootings And Its Effect On Society
The world we live in today is corrupted with people whose motives are unethical and what some
people would call unpredictable. Today s generation is growing up in darkness where nobody
can even dream of the light. Mass shootings are happening more commonly and actions aren t
being taken into initiative. Morals, are a person s standards of behavior or beliefs concerning
what is and is not acceptable for them to do. A person with basic moral principles can see it s not
acceptable for someone to shoot up a concert, or go into a church and spray multiple rounds. Yet
we have people today who find it acceptable to go about their business this way. However, what
about the people whose morals and ethics go totally against the thought of killing?... Show more

He then heard drilling coming inside Paddocks room, and went to investigate it more
thoroughly. The worker was then hit in the right thigh, and quickly got on his radio and told the
hotel he has been shot. The people who were listening to the radio rushed to notify to police. As
the shooting was going on the police department was confused if the shots were coming from the
Mandalay Bay or perhaps the nearby Luxor hotel. Then bright flashes were seeming coming out
of a room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay. Around 10:12 p.m officers on the 31st floor
heard gunfire on the floor directly above them. 10:17 the 2 officers reached the worker that got
hit in the right thigh and he directed them to Paddocks room. Between the times of 10:26 p.m and
10:30 p.m an additional 8 officers arrived in front of Paddocks room but the door was not breached
until 11:20. They found that the shooter had shot himself and at 11:27 a call was made to dispatch
confirming the death of the shooter.
With no clear motive Stephan Paddock shot up a festival killing multiple people. This shocked the
entire world that someone of no motive could of done something as devastating at this. The moral
principles associated with mass shooting belong in a category of its own. From a Hindu perspective
they believe in the reincarnation factor also called karma. Is someone has good karma when he or

Influence of the Western War on Current US Action
How western war influence current US action Afghanistan Iraq
Introduction
Cambridge Illustrated History of Warfare: The Triumph of the West published in 1995, edited by
Geoffrey Parker has explained a number of factors that have played a part in the dominance of the
western way of war. The western way included in here is more about the dominance of the western
culture or the European culture in wars as compared to the other factors that may include
technology or finance. Five main foundations according to Parker can define the western way of
war. These factors include being superior in military and war based technology, superior military
training and discipline, increased reliance on military theory, an increased competition between
European states that lead to increased military innovation and lastly, military innovation by
adoption of new and better technology (Parker, 2005, p. 67).
The five foundations of western war have helped US in gaining victory over countries like Iraq and
Afghanistan. The main aim of the paper will be to highlight how these five main factors play
important roles in the dominance of a country over another during a war. How the countries like
Iraq and Afghanistan are failing against the more powerful US army based on Parker s five
foundations of a western war will be considered in the paper.
These days one of the most important ongoing wars includes war against terrorism initiated by US
against the militants in Iraq and Afghanistan. One

Domestic Terrorism And International Terrorism
Term paper for CJ 3340:
Domestic Terrorism vs. International Terrorism
Paul A. Vega
Tarleton State University
Domestic Terrorism vs. International Terrorism
The acts of terrorism can affect the lives of many people and is not limited to those who receive
physical scaring, but also people who have an emotional connection to those who are injured, and
quite possibly an entire nation. To distinguish between domestic and international terrorismone
must first define terrorism. It seems from region to region there are slight variations of what
qualifies as terrorism. The U.S. Code of Federal Regulations defines terrorism as the unlawful use
of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian
population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of or social objectives (FBI Terrorism 2002
2005). The Federal Bureau of Investigation further distinguishes terrorism by dividing them into
two distinct categories: Domestic and International terrorism. Domestic Terrorism is categorized by
the FBI as occurring primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the United States. These acts are
violent in nature and aim toward the intimidation of a government and its people. Domestic and
International terrorism can also be further distinguished by considering the origin of the individuals
or groups who commit the acts. Domestic Terrorism involves people who are natural born citizens
or those who primarily operate in the

Why The Bear Came Over The Mountain
After reading the short yet well written short story, I truly agree the portrayal of the modern age
men in this society. In the story, The Bear Came Over the Mountain by Alice Munro, I realised
what Grant has to experienced and I felt sympathy and how he deserves it the same time, rather a
controversial true opinion.
I think the author clearly shows the selfishness of men through Grant as he is a typical man trying
to fulfil his own pleasures by courting women that went to his lectures in university. I felt that the
author again emphasized on it as the work driven Grant ended up taking an early retirement just
because Fiona had inherited property after her dad s passing. In the end, I think that human in the
modern society much less have the same selfish attitude as they will strive to get the things they
thirst for in life, no matter the consequences after. As Grant said, You ve made a new friend. to his
Alzheimer diseased wife, I feel the author wants us to know of the jealousy of men and which
amplifies greatly in the role that I think Grant is very suitable for because of his controlling ways.
Ironically, I feel that the same Alzheimer as we know of as short term disease as well reflecting...

all both had experienced they waited for each other in the end. The sentence which Fiona said I
thought was like a hit into Grant s gut because likewise we expect people to go to their old ways
after not being together for some time. On the other hand, I admire of Grant s consistency of
finding ways to make her wife happy even though it meant letting her having a relationship with a
stranger. I feel that Grant has matured into a better person whom not just wants to fulfil his own
pleasure but to fill the void in the emptiness of his loved ones in the

U.s. Economic Affairs And Fiscal Policy Essay
1. In America 45 million under poverty line and over 5%unemployment rate, First thing I would
advise to USA President is to Increase the minimum wage rate to atleast 9$ , guaranteed paid
leave to new parents, More free for h1b visas and more taxes for richer. These decisions will have
long term effects on the economy and we can see redistribution of income from richer to poorer in
short time. All this combined with more government expenditure would help the US economy.
2. Fiscal policy is considered any changes the government makes to the national budget in order to
influence a nation s economy. until the Great DepressionThe government tried to stay away from
economic matters as much as possible and hoped that a balanced budget would be maintained. After
the Great Depression , economists decided that something needed to be done about the government
involvement in U.S. economic affairs. The U.S. looked to the influential views of economist John
Maynard Keynes to help fix the crisis the country was in, as well as to prevent it from happening
again. In modern times The United States government has tended to spend more money than it
takes in. Conservatives generally favor monetary policy as a stabilization tool, as they consider
fiscal actions as synonymous with spending on wasteful social programs, budget deficits,
government borrowings, higher interest rates, and the crowding out of useful private investment.
Liberals, in contrast, consider monetary policy too slow and weak to

Franchise vs. Business Opportunity
To the untrained eye, franchise and business opportunity investments look pretty much the same.
Both invite you to purchase a package of goods and services and business concepts. Both offer you
the chance to capitalize on a business idea that has already proved to be successful. Both provide
some training, handholding and access to a valuable marketplace.
In reality, though, there are huge differences between the two concepts. While these fundamental
distinctions sometimes appear subtle, detecting and understanding them can help you protect
yourself when you take the plunge into your new business.
If there s one telltale difference between a franchise and a business opportunity, it s the role of a
trademark. The licensing of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

full time self employment? Do you want to pursue a personal interest? Do you have a knack for
sales? Do you enjoy working with the public? Would you be comfortable making cold calls to pitch

through the enticing possibilities you ll face.
Information Is The Key
Armed with this information, you re now in a position to evaluate facts and figures from franchise
and business opportunity sellers.
If you re interested in buying a franchise, you can expect to receive a UFOC describing the
investment. This extensive document is required by federal law to be delivered to a prospective
franchisee at the earlier of two events: (1) the first serious personal meeting between you and the
franchise representative to discuss the franchise investment, or (2) at least 10 business days before
you pay any money or sign the contract. UFOCs contain a narrative description of the offering, the
franchisor, its business and legal background, applicable restrictions, estimates of the total
investment, plus lists of current owners in the system as well as those who have departed the

The Rock And Roll Bands
Music has been evolving for hundreds of years, leading to major breakthroughs starting in the
late 1950s, early 1960s. There are many different types of music genres, which all have different
sounds. We have the blues, folk music, classical, country, hip hop, pop, reggae, and rock and
roll. Rock and roll has continued to grow since the 1950s. Some of the most iconic music comes
from the 1980s, especially from the hair bands. Guns N Roses, a one of the most popular rock
and roll bands ever, produced some of the best rock and roll the world has seen. Back in 1985,
two local bands from Los Angeles, California, combined to make Guns N Roses. Axl Rose manned

Duff McKagen had his connections in the Seattle area, so he booked them some gigs. However,
their first gig did not go as plan, starting from the drive from their home base in Los Angeles.
While driving on Interstate 5, their van broke down, leading them to hitchhike the rest of the
way to Seattle. Their first gig with The Flashbacks was only seen by 13 people and did not get
the original $250 they were promised; instead they received $50 due to the poor turnout. After
this gig, they returned back to the Hell House, their home on Sunset Blvd. and began to
rehearse. The rest of their set tour of Seattle was cancelled. The little money Guns N Roses
originally made caused them to live on cheap wine and biscuits. Like any newly formed band,
Guns N Roses were not popular right away. They started their first gigs at clubs, frat parties and
bars. At their early gigs, covers of Mamma Kin by Aerosmith, Heart Break Hotel by Elvis Presley,
and Jumpin Jack Flash by The Rolling Stones were played. They also played very early versions
of their hit songs such as Welcome to the Jungle, Reckless Life, It s So Easy, and Don t Cry. By
late 1985, the band began making their way up and began to get more gigs such as the 8th annual
L.A. Street Scene. By early 1986, Guns N Roses were signed to their first record label with Geffen
Records. Geffen Records also produced albums for Aerosmith,

Analysis Of Bachmann Gambling Addiction
Bachmann Gambling Addiction
In The Neurology of Free Will, Charles Duhigg puts a special importance on habits their inner
working and how they can change. Duhigg describes how habits work through the cycle of cue,
routine, and reward. Angie Bachmann from being a bored housewife to losing all her money
through uncontrollable gambling.
Angie Bachmann mother of 3 children, got addicted to gambling felt lonely at home, when her
husband went to work and children went to school. Bachmann had gotten married young and had
become pregnant almost right away. She had never held down a meaningful job. One morning,
She was sitting at home, staring at the television, so bored that she was giving serious thought to
reorganizing the silverware drawer (Duhigg). That morning the trouble began. She was really
bored, so at about noon, Bachmann drove to a riverboat casino. She played and lost 40 dollars.
After that first trip to the casino, Bachmann started going to the riverboat once a week. Then twice
a week. Over the next decade, Bachmann played regularly. She went whenever she fought with her
husband or was just bored. At the tables she was numb and excited, all at once. The high of
winning was so immediate. The pain of losing passed so fast. According to Duhigg states First,
there is a cue, a trigger that tells your brain to go into automatic mode. Then there is the routine the
behavior itself which can be physical or mental or emotional. Finally, there is a reward, which helps

Cystic Fibrosis Case Studies
Five year old Ellis Miles undergoes numerous treatments each day to counteract the symptoms that
accompany cystic fibrosis including physiotherapy, pills containing digestive enzymes, and a
treatment which breaks up the mucus in her lungs. Cystic Fibrosis has numerous life threatening
symptoms and while there is no cure, there are several treatments that a typical patient undergoes
each day to combat these symptoms. The most prominent symptom associated with Cystic Fibrosis
is a thick mucusthat clogs up tubes that carry out crucial roles in the human body. This mucus
especially affects the respiratory tract. Mucus builds up in the respiratory tract making it difficult

This mucus build up also causes wheezing and difficulty breathing. Recently, it has become more
common for individuals with cystic fibrosis to receive lung transplants during the end stages of
lung disease. As mentioned, the symptoms of cystic fibrosis are life threatening, and the majority
of deaths are the result of respiratory failure after battling lung diseases and infections that come
as a result of the mucus build up. The life expectancy for an individual with cystic fibrosis ranges
in the mid thirties. Another symptom that comes as a result of cystic fibrosis is digestive issues.
The thick mucus that affects the respiratory tract also often blocks the tubes that are crucial to
digestion because they carry digestive enzymes. Without these digestive enzymes being transported
to the small intestine, individuals with cystic fibrosis cannot fully absorb the nutrients they eat.
These digestive issues lead to reduced weight gain and growth in individuals with cystic fibrosis
as well as severe constipation. In some cases, the large intestine may begin to protrude, a symptom
referred to as rectal prolapse, and may need to

Marginal Analysis
Economics amp; Global Business Applications, EGT 1, Task 1
A. Explanation of profit maximization
The total revenue, TR, is the overall amount of all sources of a business s income. It consists of
total sales or profit, over a period of time. The TR can be calculated by taking the price and
multiplying it by the quantity. For example, if a business decides to retail another product and the
total revenue does increase, thus the marginal revenue would be greater than zero. However, if the
business decides to sell another product and the marginal revenue is zero, then there would not be
any changes to the total revenue.
To determine profit maximization, using the Total Revenue to Total Costapproach, consider the ...

This increase in widgets will provide Company A with a MR of $140 dollars per widget. In
addition, applying the same formula to the maximum of 15 widgets produced ($1200 150/15)
also results in a MR of $70 per widget. In the provided scenario, Company A has experienced
decreasing MR for every one more widget they produce.
C. Calculation used to determine Marginal Cost
In comparison, the marginal cost is the added cost of producing one more unit of output. It is
determined by the change in total cost (TC) divided by the change in output (Q). MC= TC/Q. In
the provided scenario, for Company A to produce one widget TC=$30, to produce two widgets
TC=$50 thus the marginal cost was $20; furthermore the cost per widget to produce was $25.
Marginal cost will continue to decrease for Company A until they reach their profit maximization
of $42.86 per widget at 7 widgets. Marginal cost will then begin to decrease for every additional
widget produced until the end result of 15 widgets with a MC that exceeds $80, also allowing TC
to topple to TR ($1220/15=$81.33).
D. Company A profit maximization Quantity| Total Revenue| Total Cost| 7| $840| $300|
Company A reaches its greatest profit maximization with a Quantity of 8 because the total revenue
is at the greatest distance from total cost. (TFC+TVC=TC); Price x Quantity = TR; Price =$115
Profit is the difference between TR and

1993 World Trade Center Bombing Research Paper
The 1933 World Trade Center Bombing was a terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, carried
out on February 26, 1993, when a truck bomb exploded below the North Tower of the World
Trade Center in New York City. Six suspects carried out this bombing that killed six people and
injured more than 1000 people. Ramzi Yousef was one of the main perpetrators of this 1993
bombing. His reasoning behind it was to get back at the United Statesfor aiding Israel and making
the Palestinian people suffer. The 1993 World Trade Center
Bombing impacted America socially,
economically, and politically.

Government officials estimated that it would be unlikely that the cost of the bombing reach the
record $15 billion in losses from Hurricane Andrew. However, the destruction will by far exceed
the $330 million in losses caused by a flood in downtown Chicago. The 1993 World Trade Center
bombing caused $1.1 billion dollars in insured losses. This includes $317 million in relocation
expenses, $318 million in lost business and lost labor, and $79 million in lost retail sales. The
bombing shaped up to be one of New York Citys most costly financial disruptions. Business at the
World Trade Center had come to a screeching stop. The bombing affected many businesses,
including banks, retail stores, hotels, restaurants etc. More than 350 businesses hoped that the
bombing would be covered by insurance. Some businesses are concerned that insurers will not
pay all their expenses leaving them to pay for it themselves. Insurance rates drastically increased
for businesses inside and outside of New York City. Stores have seen business drop by 50 to 90
percent, forcing some layoffs. Jon Torres, manager of Lynn s Hallmark card shop said that his
business was off by 92 percent. They opened right away, but there was no traffic, just a few
curious people. Torres had to lay off 21 of his employees. I had 28 employees, and I m working
with about 7. They keep calling to see if they should come in, but I ve got nothing for them to
do, says Torres. Like Torres, many businesses are anxious about when they will return to normal.
The New York Vista Hotel that sits above the site of the explosion, which is now vacant, is losing
$150,000 to $250,000 a day. It may cost more than a couple hundred million to repair the hotel if
the structural damage is severe. Not only did workers and companies leave behind their offices
and records, but they also lost their cars. Don C. Becker, President of The Journal of Commerce

  • 2. Brian Snare Analysis The intricate universe of mergers is often a chaotic endeavor for many musicians, one where few artists have found success unless that artist s name is Brian Eno. But let it be a pair of Canadian producers to subvert this notion. A master at exercising the dichotomy between electronic intelligentsia and the dark confines of breakcore, Venetian Snares (Aaron Funk) teams up with prolific producer Daniel Lanois, whose name is attached to projects like U2 s The Joshua Tree and Brian Eno s Apollo Atmospheres Soundtracks. As two preeminent musical minds come together to bounce ideas off one another, Venetian Snares and Daniel Lanois self titled project witnesses the duo pulling in their respective sonic backgrounds to devise contemporary terrains of sound while pushing each other s unique talents into untouchable acclivities.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although largely improvised, almost every composition off this album follows a similar ebb n flow like structure. Take the track Night Mxcmpv1 P74 for instance, Lanois initiates the listener s experience with swathes of ambient bliss but is then kicked into full lunacy as Funk s zany drill and bass peppers in and out of a veil of shimmering chords. This unusual marriage of synthetic styles has only been accomplished by one other electronic artist prior, by none other than Aphex Twin with his masterful body of work. With this unlikely masterpiece, Funk, a pillar of IDM, does what he does best and finds that menacing place where synthetic drum and bass repeat, speed up, then abruptly punctuate at the mercy of industrial whirls of high hats and paradoxically cool ... • 3. Child Support Case Summary Madison County DHR representative s testimony revealed that since the main issue is the arrears, the custodial parent (CP), Ms. Foxhill, originally opened her case for child support services in September 2014. At that time, the case was setup on the DHR s system for collection. DHR instructed the non custodial parent (NCP) to begin making payments through the Child Support Payment Center. Shortly thereafter on October 31, 2014, the CP closed her case with DHR. On December 18, 2014, the CP reopened the child support case for collection. At that time, DHR ran a spreadsheet in accordance with the CP s Affidavit of Past Due Support to determine the arrears and interest in December when the case was reopened. Mr. Van Staagen commented in regards... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Van Staagen s testimony revealed that he and the CP were married in June 1992 and divorced in May 2004 that left the CP with custody of the children and him paying child support of $1,323.00. Mr. Van Staagen stated that from the date of the divorceuntil August 2011 he paid the $1,323.00 without ever missing a payment, completely supporting his children. Mr. Van Staagen quoted from the agreement, page 2, Husband shall pay to the wife for the support and maintenance of the children the sum of $1,323.00 per month until each child shall attain the age of nineteen years or shall marry, whichever shall first occur. He stated this is a confusing sentence to him because it does not say pay $1,323.00 a month until both children turn age 19. He stated he understand that this may not be the intent of what the document should say but it clearly says until each child obtain the age of 19; does not state anything about coming back to court to change the child support after the first child turn 19 or anything like that. He stated it left both, he and the CP to believe that once a child turn 19, the support should be reduced. To add to that, the NCP stated when the oldest child was 17; she went away to school in August 2011. The NCP stated that in August 2011, the CP requested him to give half the support to their oldest child and the other half to the CP. That continued until the oldest child turn 19 at which time he stopped paying child support directly to the oldest child; ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Positive Impact Of The Roaring Twenties Post war years have significant impacts on a society s economy, bringing an abundance of celebration, cherished moments and highlighting the end of the plagued events of war and loss. With the end of such an afflicted time period, the arrival of solidarity and unification in society usually follows. The Roaring Twentiesaccomplished many positive changes in Canadian society, building the path it needs to follow to become a great nation and progress into the future. The time period was regarded as a time of excitement and prosperity concerning the fads, fashions, and entertainment, as well as the freedom many people gained with the end of the war. Furthermore, the Roaring Twenties can also be seen as a time of positive change due to a variety of factors such as Canadas developing autonomy and political relationship with Britain, pushing Canada to become an independent nation. Another factor would be the Canadian industries and economy that flourished during the 1920swhich allowed many Canadian businesses to prosper and enabled Canadians to acquire and enjoy an improved quality of life. Finally, the change in societal status and role of women established the starting point of gender equality between men and women, as well as the recognition of the various contributions that women were capable of bringing to society. Before the 1920s, Canada made decisions on its domestic matters independently. It was only during the 1920s that Canada began to take an independent approach in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. A Brief Biography of William Shakespeare William Shakespeare, the man of many artistic talents, is still quite a mysterious figure in today s world, mainly because of the lack of records on this man; but also because of his writings. According to what little the Holy Trinity Church had documented on William Shakespeare, the legal and business transactions including some theatrical and Court documents as well as his life s work, can be used to put the little bits of information given to us to see the basic overview of this man s life, use it to see the Globe Theater where he worked as a playwright and an actor, as well as what the Elizabethan Era that he lived in was like. Elizabethan England Era, or the Golden Age in England, started in 1558 when Queen Elizabeth succeeded her Catholic sister Mary I and re established the Protestant Anglican Church. During this Era William Shakespeare was born in Stratford upon Avon on April 23, 1564 to a John Shakespeare, a glover and leather merchant, and Mary Arden, a landed local heiress. Three days later, on April 26, 1564 William Shakespeare was baptized in the Holy Trinity Church. William Shakespeare was the third oldest out of the eight children born into the Shakespeare s family. In the 1570 s during the excommunication of Queen Elizabeth 1 from the Catholic Church, Shakespeare s fathers lost most of his money. (2001: 35), there are three types of customers. The first is Elitist s Group , customers in this group state that luxury product must be small educated, sophisticated and refined. And it should differentiate itself from others. It is indeed expensive and cannot be mass distributed (ibid). The second type is Democratic group that customers in this section consider the luxury should be mass distributed and accessible to consumers. Additionally, they think that it is not the word of good taste or differentiation, it is also not necessary to be expensive. The customers in this section has being positive to luxury (ibid). While the last section should be the Distant group , which means customers do not have a negative attitude towards luxury, they consider luxury is another world where they do not belong to. In fact, luxury does not attract them, also they cannot find out any value, attribute or relevance, especially useless and too expensive. They report that more taxes should be paid from luxury (ibid). • 9. My Life Of My Mother Literacy has always been close to my identity as a person. My mother wanted the best for her children, and therefore would sing and read to us as soon as we were born. She encouraged out love of words and books by taking us to the library for reading time and always seemed to find the most amazing books for us to explore. My mother is very musically gifted, so songs were part of our daily routine. There are still little songs that pop into my head about daily tasks that she created to help us learn and make work and learning fun. When I grew a bit older, around the age of four, my mother formed a group with other women in our neighborhood to form a preschool. They used the Joy School curriculum and took turns having all of us over to their homes so that we could learn and play together. I remember there was lots of music, readingmany books, playing all sorts of games, and a yearly Christmas program. Around this time, I began to learn about phonics and loved figuring out which letters made which sounds. My mother tells me that I liked to rhyme a lot as a little child because I found it fun. She said she thinks this is when my love of poetry started to develop. As I transitioned into early elementary school, I was well prepared to enter Kindergarten. Because I have always been pretty independent and self driven, my mother did not really have to push me to read. My question for Inquiry is: How can I differentiate Mathematics in order to support and extend students? By differentiating the numeracy program, all students needs will be targeted by exposing students to outcomes and activities, which are achievable and challenging for students. The focus learning area for each lesson and group of learners will be tailored to suit the individual learning needs of the students as will the set tasks associated with the learning focus. They understood what the framework for their success would be defined as and thus they could work towards this goal. What impact has this project had on teaching and learning? The main impact this lesson had on my project was seeing tasks set that catered for each student. For example one expectation was for the students to choose their own question to answer from a range of different questions that all varied in complexity and difficulty, and to answer them in four different ways. • 11. The Importance Of The Right To Privacy Property is paramount regarding the individual rights of citizens. United States Founders considered it as the foundation of freedom and prosperity. In fact, James Madison stated government is instituted to protect property of every sort...This being the end of government, that alone is just government, which impartially secures to every man, whatever is his own. Originally, the right for citizens to freely acquire, use, and dispose of propertywas protected by common law, state law and the constitution. However, as the nation grew and this concept became more complex, property rights have been severely compromised. For instance, there is much disagreement on what the right to privacy concept within the Fourth Amendment of the Constitution actually protects. Originally, the Court tended to view the right to privacy as place orientated and property based (739). This narrow range of protections was understandable but was limited primarily to criminal procedure, specifically the protections against search and seizures. For example, the courts repeatedly use the proverb A man s home is his castle , however, this concept is explicitly place orientated and property based. The issue with this narrow view of property is that it fails to protect property that is non physical, such as an original concept, copyright material, music and other entities that were not necessarily factors in the 18th century. Rossum acknowledges this issue stating, Anything less than physical...fell ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For CBAUI, we have incorporated several provisions within our charter and other aspects of our corporate governance to preserve our goal to provide online academic services to L SES students in the greater New York City Area. A.Company Financing Strategy CBAUI began with seed capital from the founders family, friends and community. They believed that there must be a better way to connect students who may need additional academic support with students who are excelling in these areas. With their help, along with an angel investment, our venture began with only $100,000. The future of CBAUI depends on continued investment until the revenue generating areas of our enterprise are profitable. 1.Impact Investors One of the main ways that our enterprise differs from other tutoring programs now available to students is the online component. To build that technology out into a platform that is accessible, effective and enjoyable to use, we need capital in addition to our current funding. An investment of $500,000 $2,000,000 would allow us to hire the professionals necessary to build proprietary web and mobile based platforms that would allow our tutors to communicate with our scholars remotely. • 16. David Monet The first painting that I found to be interesting was The Cliff, Etretat, Sunset. The painting was created by Claude Monet. Monet painted this in 1882 1883. It is oil on canvas and the picture plane is 23 13/16 inches by 32 3/16 inches. This original of this painting can be found in the European art collection at the North Carolina Museum of Art. The paintingcan be categorized with the other European art works because it was painted in Normandy, France. It can also be categorized as European art because Monet is French. While The Cliff, Etretat, Sunset can be classified as European art, it can also be categorized as impressionist style art. The formal theorists would state that the brushstrokes of this naturalistic painting were rushed and loose, but still smooth. This painting is a combination of a lot of colors. It has a blue sky, with shades of yellow and green lighting it up, white clouds litter the sky. Light shades of pink and purple are painted at the horizon line, as well as a small circle of orange which sits directly on the horizon line. The small circle of orange represents the sun, it is set on the right side of the painting and compared to the cliff the scale of the sun is miniscule, which makes it seem like it is set further back. The cliff itself is a combination of curved lines. The different shades of blue and the hues of brown that can be found in the cliff creates a sharp contrast to... Autonomous driving features such as adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist are already included in many new vehicles, offering motorists a harbinger of what s to come. Indeed, three out of four Americans surveyed by AAA say that they are afraid to ride in a self driving vehicle. Decades of Autonomous Vehicle Testing Before we examine the AAA survey, we need to gain context based on background. Experiments on self driving vehicles have been ongoing for decades. For example, beginning in the 1980s, a German researcher at a Munich university, Ernst Dickmanns, built the world s first robotic car. Those earlier models required human intervention to control engine throttle and braking. By 1995, Dickmanns team launched the first fully autonomous vehicle, a Mercedes Benz S Class and inaugurated it on a 1,000 mile round tripper from Munich to Denmark and back, including nearly 100 miles of human free control.(2) That watershed mission was accomplished without incident and led to other ... How Selection On Behavior Shapes Brain Investment Understanding how selection on behavior shapes brain investment is a major question in the analysis of the evolution of animal sociality [Szathmary and Maynard Smith, 1995; Edelman and Changeux, 2001; Ricklefs, 2004; Gronenberg and Riveros, 2009]. Neural tissue is energetically expensive and therefore brainregions should only enlarge when needed to meet functional demands [Niven and Laughlin, 2008]. The social brain hypothesis posits that social interactions are so cognitively demanding that social environment selects for enhanced neural development [Humphrey, 1976; Dunbar and Shultz, 2007]. To date only two brain investment studies on solitary and facultatively social bees are reported. A study on solitary bees, Osmia lignaria found that adults emerge with neuronal development typical of experienced workers in advanced eusocial insect species, but also found that mushroom body neuropil volume further increased with foraging experience [Withers et al., 2007]. These results confirm that mushroom bodies are important for cognitive processes in solitary antecedents, but cannot inform us on the role of social experience on neuropil investment. Smith et al. [2010] examined brain size and development using the facultatively social bee Megalopta genalis, a species with both solitary and primitively social colonies in the same populations. Mushroom body size increased with foraging behavior in solitary individuals and workers compared to newly emerged M. genalis females, but even greater mushroom body development was found in queens. Smith et al. [2010] attributed enhanced growth of the mushroom body cortex to maintaining behavioral dominance. Much like obligately eusocial bees, however, Megalopta are bees with distinct reproductive (queens) and foraging (workers) roles and therefore the relative roles of foraging and social experience are not ... The Impact Of Photography On The World Of Photography The history of photography begin with the discovery that some substances are visibly altered by exposure to light and can capture that reality on to metal or paper. From then on, many photographers and scientists developed photography in to what it is now. There are many significant aspects of photography in its first hundred years of history that formed and shaped the basis of photographytechnically and artistically. Personally, the most significant aspects of the photograph lie in its beginning when it all first started with the daguerreotypes and the calotype that opened the world of photography which have lead the world to be what it is now. The first widely usable photographic processes that was introduced to the public were the daguerreotype and the calotype. There were precedents before the daguerreotype and calotype but it wasn t commercially used and was more close to a research rather than an art form. Each method produced technically different outcomes by using different methods but they devoted to the same result: both processes would develop photography into what we recognize today as photography. The two methods would inspired wide use of the camera, which presented problems with the photographic technique. By having people solve these problems, the photography developed from its early stage, big in size and complicated procedures, to the modern camera that we use, which are simple and easy to use. Hot headed 13 year old Eren JГ¤ger features as the main protagonist, who pledges his life to the military at the age of 11 to defeat the Titans. Eren s noble dedication is fueled by the multiple traumas he experienced in his childhood. From enduring family risk factors such as becoming orphaned at age 8, to community risk factors such as lack of support for an overzealous pre teen soldier, Eren exhibits increased vulnerability to developing multiple types of psychopathy. On the other hand, Eren eventually finds himself a tight knit group of friends and new parental figure, which together produce protective factors such as supportive relationships, as well as physical and psychological safety. An analysis of Eren s intra and inter personal experiences suggests his likelihood to developing several types of psychopathy. The multidimensional integrative approach to psychopathology indicates Eren s vulnerability to developing psychological disorders exists in biological, psychological, emotional, and developmental categories (Barlow et al., 2017). Until now, early detection for respiratory system disease remains one of the challenges for patients who suffer from asthma or COPD. Asthma and Forced oscillation technique Asthma is a chronic lung disease which inflames and narrows the respiratory system airways. It causes shortness of breath, coughing, and chest tightness [8]. The airways are typically uniform circular tubes that carry air through the respiratory system. Asthma causes these airways to inflame and narrow, leading to changes in the characteristic of the airways[8]. According to Kirchhoff s Theory for the circular tube, the radius of the tube affects the propagation of sound in a uniform circular tube[9]. The same concept can be applied to airways in the respiratory system, when asthma alters airway characteristics, it causes changes in the propagation of the soundwave and changes in the measured impedance, this is called Forced Oscillation technique. Previous data revealed that through Forced Oscillation Technique we can distinguish between healthy respiratory systems and dysfunction respiratory systems [4 7]. Some, like medieval author Paul Ruggiers, argue that it is impossible to determine the Prioress?s attitude and that, ?we must be satisfied with ambiguity.? Others like writer Victoria Wickham argue the most popular belief, that the Prioress?s bigotry is without question and readers should be more concerned about the degree rather than the fact itself. But there is another possibility. Edwards and Spector, two prominent medieval scholars, put aside the issue of racism temporarily and instead offer an alternative interpretation on the very nature of Chaucer?s love hate contradiction in the Prioress?s tale. They argue that the love vs. hate contradiction is not dependent on outside forces, but is actually an internal conflict within the Prioress herself. Consequently, the individuals and subsequent groups in her tale are not specific characters but culturally influenced manifestations representing separate issues. In this way her personality becomes the allegory of her tale, making specific references within her story irrelevant to her true attitude. In this writer?s opinion, popular attitudes on the nature of the love hate contradiction in the Prioress?s tale are wrong; Edwards and Stevens help prove this. With an annual population growth of 1.3 percent (United Nations 2013), India s energy needs are growing, especially in regards to electricity. Because new energy gains require multiples of power use, for the Indian economy to expand, electricity production has to rise more rapidly than total output. In some cases, old trees have yet to be replaced, and pruning and care regimens are neglected or performed poorly due to lack of labor (Magrath 2014). The lack of investment is important for both finance and education. Smaller farmers often do not have enough money to gain access to resources that could help in instructing them how to use the land and regenerate their crops (Wakefield 2015). A few promising solutions exist for mitigating the effects of coffeerust. A few of them include government support, management options, improved technology and information sharing systems, and changing social perceptions of coffee. One possible way to indirectly prevent coffee rust from spreading to epidemic levels is for the government to provide some support to farmers. Government subsidies for seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides have the potential to help farmers cope with the investment difficulties they currently face (Stone 2014). There is some debate over whether full sun or shade coffee provides more protection against coffee rust. Rust is easier to control on plants in full sun, as most of the time the coffee planted in full sun are large plantations that are spaced farther apart. This allows for easier application of fungicides. Farther spacing also allows for wind to blow within and throughout the coffee plants, drying them and preventing free standing water ... Analysis Of From In A Green Night By Derek Walcott In Derek Walcott s From in a Green Night: A Far Cry from Africa, the author explains and dives into the topic of colonialism and self reflection through his own experiences of being trapped between his Kenyan and British descent. Similar to Fanon s concept of complicity, Walcott also understands both sides of the story in an unbiased manner. In his poem, he uses imagery to describe the violent past in which Kenyans and British people have committed to each other, the savage nature of humans during colonization, and his own internal speech where he himself is confused of his cultural and social identity. This paper will explore the core concepts of Walcott s writing and further explain it through Fanon s lens to amplify the meaning of the poem. To begin, Walcott uses imagery to describe the prominent violence in the history between colonized Kenya and the British colonists. He quickly describes that Kenya s Kikuyus are not the only ones to blame in this scenario when he says, Corpses are scattered through a paradise. / Only the worm, colonel of carrion, cries: / Waste no compassion on these separate dead! (4 6). In these stanzas, it is easy to see that Walcott is unbiased in his opinion on colonialism. Even though he states that Africa is a paradise that is scattered with corpses (4), he also believes that the colonists are not the only ones to blame. In this paper, I will explain why soccer is the greatest sport. First of all, soccer is the greatest sport because it is a very easy sport to learn. If children are taught the rules at a young age, then anyone can understand them. In my personal experience, the rules for soccer were easy to learn because there were not too many to learn. I had to work very hard to develop the skills for soccer. I was a referee for little kids and almost all of them understood the rules that went ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. How A Person s Memory Works Memory Alexis Marie Robinson Mrs Reilly English III Honors Period 6 09 Of March 2015 How A Person s Memory Works Memory is a concept that refers to the process of remembering. Recalling memories uses the same neurological paths humans use originally to sense the experience which in result, almost recreates the event. Researchers believe memoryis a brain wide process, meaning that memory is not restricted to one area of the brain. Scent is one of the strongest senses tied to memory. Humans receive information through the five senses: 1sight, smell, taste, touch, and sound. Someone can imagine how different a memory would be for a person if one of they did not have one of their senses sight, sound, smell whatever the sense was that ties them closely to the memory the most. Memories are just different ways people store and remember various things they have sensed throughout life. 2It should be known that a single memory is a complex construction. For example, when people think of a simple object the brain retrieves the objects name, its shape, function, and anything else that closely ties itself to that object. 2Each part of this memory is from a different region of the brain. 3(Mohs and Turkington) As stated by April Holladay, memories of concepts and ideas are related to sense experiences because we extract the essence from sensed experiences to form generalized concepts. And in the past, many experts explained memory as a filing cabinet full of memory folders where ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The members of the Duke Lacrosse team did not have much support from the faculty as the accusations were the headliners for many major media outlets. The impact of these allegations by the Duke Lacrosse team was tremendous. The President of the University Richard Brodhead canceled the entire season and called the situation sickening and repulsive (Jennings, 2009, p. 568). Once again the support from the highest level at Duke University was not there for the three members of the lacrosse team at the center of the allegations. The African American accuser Crystal Mangum had support from the NAACP, Reverend Jesse Jackson, and the Durham County District Attorney Mike Nifong. The coach of the team also resigned from his job as the season was canceled. Mr. Nifong from the beginning of the investigation seemed to have his mind set on convicting these white males of the allegations they faced from the accuser. The unethical manner in which Mike Nifong proceeded in the investigation tested the judicial system. The tactics that were used in the case undermined that you are innocent until proven guilty. McKee also talks about us human beings, suffering from a curse of soundbites (Slayden and Whillock 1999). The terms short attention span and soundbite are the two most popular terms in our discussions about the public sphere. Transport Disadvantage And The Regional Transport Essay Introduction It is widely acknowledged that Northern Ireland has suffered from decades of underinvestment in its roads and public transport (RTS, Department for Regional Development 2002). Northern Irelands public transport networks are lacking in many areas of the country. To address key issues surrounding a lack of adequate transport provision, and to combat the growing problems of car dependence and transport disadvantage, the Northern Ireland Assembly commissioned the Regional Development Strategy and the Regional Transport Strategy. This essay will discuss the nature of transport disadvantage, identify the groups affected by transport disadvantage, and evaluate and discuss the policies proposed by the Regional Transport Strategy, and how they will attempt to remedy the problems faced by these disadvantaged groups. What is Transport Disadvantage? Transport disadvantaged groups can be identified as individuals and families in the society that cannot easily travel to the opportunities they would like to use. (Warren, Paula 2011). Transport disadvantage can be more easily defined as the difficulty in accessing transport through a result of cost, location, disability or age. Transport disadvantage in Northern Ireland has been exacerbated by an increase in car dependency rates and less investment in local transport services for socially disadvantaged groups. The number of journeys mad by car in Northern Ireland accounted for 72% of all journeys made in 2012 2014, an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

First it provides sustained benefits for producers that can help maintain their business through fluctuations of the world market (Gidney, M. 2009). Second, fair trade helps to maintain fair prices, additional social premium, and long term partnerships that help provide better living standards for millions of people in over 60 countries (Gidney, M. 2009). Free trade cannot grow without the aid of governments to help promote and sustain it. Governments must support free trade by first modifying current trade policies to remove barriers against free trade. Lastly governments must act and enforce regulations to protect against unfair trade practices. What can Governments do to promote free trade? The basis of free trade is that in a growing economy the comparative advantage shows that resources flow from lower productivity to those with higher productivity (Carbaugh, 2009). Along with increased employment in developing countries and higher standard of living, consumers benefit from more diversity on the market and cheaper prices. Influence of the Western War on Current US Action How western war influence current US action Afghanistan Iraq Introduction Cambridge Illustrated History of Warfare: The Triumph of the West published in 1995, edited by Geoffrey Parker has explained a number of factors that have played a part in the dominance of the western way of war. The western way included in here is more about the dominance of the western culture or the European culture in wars as compared to the other factors that may include technology or finance. Five main foundations according to Parker can define the western way of war. These factors include being superior in military and war based technology, superior military training and discipline, increased reliance on military theory, an increased competition between European states that lead to increased military innovation and lastly, military innovation by adoption of new and better technology (Parker, 2005, p. 67). The five foundations of western war have helped US in gaining victory over countries like Iraq and Afghanistan. The main aim of the paper will be to highlight how these five main factors play important roles in the dominance of a country over another during a war. How the countries like Iraq and Afghanistan are failing against the more powerful US army based on Parker s five foundations of a western war will be considered in the paper. To distinguish between domestic and international terrorismone must first define terrorism. It seems from region to region there are slight variations of what qualifies as terrorism. The U.S. Code of Federal Regulations defines terrorism as the unlawful use of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of or social objectives (FBI Terrorism 2002 2005). The Federal Bureau of Investigation further distinguishes terrorism by dividing them into two distinct categories: Domestic and International terrorism. Domestic Terrorism is categorized by the FBI as occurring primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the United States. These acts are violent in nature and aim toward the intimidation of a government and its people. Domestic and International terrorism can also be further distinguished by considering the origin of the individuals or groups who commit the acts. The TR can be calculated by taking the price and multiplying it by the quantity. For example, if a business decides to retail another product and the total revenue does increase, thus the marginal revenue would be greater than zero. In the provided scenario, Company A has experienced decreasing MR for every one more widget they produce. C. Calculation used to determine Marginal Cost In comparison, the marginal cost is the added cost of producing one more unit of output. It is determined by the change in total cost (TC) divided by the change in output (Q). MC= TC/Q. In the provided scenario, for Company A to produce one widget TC=$30, to produce two widgets TC=$50 thus the marginal cost was $20; furthermore the cost per widget to produce was $25. Marginal cost will continue to decrease for Company A until they reach their profit maximization of $42.86 per widget at 7 widgets. Marginal cost will then begin to decrease for every additional widget produced until the end result of 15 widgets with a MC that exceeds $80, also allowing TC to topple to TR ($1220/15=$81.33). D.
