Effective And Efficient Use Of Investment Tax Incentives
Executive Summary
It has been observed from past experiences that there is ample room for effective and efficient use of
investment tax incentives in Australia. It was found that tax incentives are does not make much impact
on changing the investment climate and many times tax incentives turned out to be redundant that is,
investment would have been undertaken even without the incentives. The fiscal cost of tax incentives
can be high, reducing opportunities for other required spending like on infrastructure, education and
health care or any other sector.
Effective and efficient use of tax incentives for small businesses requires careful tax designed. Many
times government use income tax exemptions to attract investment or persuade for joint ventures to
attract investments. Good infrastructure, long term effective policies, economic stability etc. are
important for bringing investment. There is a need of have correct taxation policy to really have a
great impact on domestic small business.
Good governance of tax incentives is critical for small business growth. Transparency is necessity of
time to facilitate accountability, providing opportunities for opening business or for extracting
information for rent seekers and to curtail corruption. There are many stakeholders involved in the tax
incentive proposal approval but the best in the ministry of finance that enforced and monitored by the
tax administration. To grant tax incentives it should be based on rules rather than

Critical Need For Health Care Workers
Critical Need for Health Care Workers
In the United States, the number of physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants is not
growing as quickly as needed. By 2025, it has been predicted that the United States will face an
increase in shortage of 46,100 to 90,400 physicians. The growth of nurse practitioners and physician
assistants was projected to diminish the shortage of physicians, which will require patient and health
system acceptance and more available jobs in health care services. The critical increase of need for
specialists in the recent years caused so much attention, and the demand was said to grow more
rapidly than the supply. The shortage of available physicians in the United States has led to the aging
and growing patient population, connected by the expansion of healthcare coverage to deprive of
timely healthcare services.
When it comes to the aging and growing population, the need for physicians will increase by 2025. In
a report made in 2010, it stated that there would be a growth for 81% of change in demand until
2020.The Association of American Medical Colleges study predicted a 46% increase of people older
than 65 year of age, in need of health care services. In a 2013 report it stated that in the United States,

October Sky Quotes
Turning rocket Into Success
For most of Homer Sonny Hickam s life, he worried about what his dad thought about him and didn t
want to disappoint him. His father would have like him to be a mining engineer in the Coalwood
mine, but Sonny had his own dreams. Even though his father had high expectations of him, he let his
dreams take hold of his life and transform him for the better. In the book, October Sky, the main theme
that doing something people are passionate about can transform them, is prevalent throughout the
entire book, especially with the change that Sonny goes through building his rockets. In the real world,
hard work and persistence will bear results in more than just someone s work, but also in their
character.
Doing something you are passionate about is one of the many things that can transform a person. This
is illustrated in the book by Sonny s father Homer. I m going to show you first hand what an engineer
does he said. Then he told me his plan. It was the most remarkable thing. I just gaped at him. This was
something he d never ask Jim to do (162). This quote is where Homer offers to take Sonny into the
mine because it is something Homer is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the book Sonny s father said Nobody ever launched a better rocket than you (421). He was able to
build the best rockets because he worked hard and was passionate about his work. Cathie, a popular
girl in coalwood high school called out to him, How re your rockets doing? (277). Before Sonny built
rockets, he didn t have many friends, but when he started building rockets more people talked to him.
Building rockets got him more popular and more friends. He got more of a social life because he
followed his dreams and was really passionate about them. Sonny s life was transformed when he did
the thing he was most passionate about, and anyone else can transform theirs by following their

Greek Culture Vs Roman Culture
The Greeks created some of the first types of culture aspects and political aspects while the Romans
borrowed some of them and developed them into greater ones. Because of this, there are many
similarities between them. However, since the Romans came later than the Greeks, there were some
differences also. Even though the Greeks and Romans had a similar religion, architecture, and
government, they also had some differences as well.
During the Greek era, the citizens would worship the gods, who had control over the weather and the
spirits of the city states. They would even hold the Olympic games in order to honor Zeus, the king of
all the gods. The gods were also usually depicted naked and war like. They would also protect some
city states.

Is Hands Only CPR effective?
Tiffany Schenck

Author Note This paper is being submitted on May 16, 2018, for Candace Newson s Professional
Nursing II course. Is Hands Only CPR effective? Cardiac arrest is when there is an electrical glitch in
the heart that causes an arrhythmia and interrupts the flow of blood to the brain, lungs and other vital
organs. It is one of the leading causes of death. Every year more than 350,000 cardiac arrests occur in
the community and not in a medical facility ( CPR Facts and Stats ). What I want to know is in a
community dwelling with adults, how effective is hands only CPR versus hands plus breathing CPR at

s airway by tilting back their head with an open mouth and then using mouth to mouth breathing. He
then merged this with a method known as closed chest cardiac massage to develop the basic life
support method of CPR. In 2008, the American Heart Association revealed a statement about Hands

long term survival jeopardized? According to the American Heart Association, hands only CPR can be
just as effective as the traditional mouth to mouth with compressions CPR. It has been proven that
more witnesses are apt to perform hands only CPR if they do not have to implement mouth to mouth
breathing. A victim of sudden cardiac arrest, receiving chest compressions from eyewitness, is more
likely to survive without any brain

Assyrian Empire Research Paper
The Assyrian Empire was revolutionized as one of the most powerful forces of the ancient world,
lasted about 1,875 years before its downfall began, and went through many heights and lows in its
time. However, why did Assyria really succeed for as long as it did? Why did it reach a downfall
period and essentially fail around 609 BC? Over this essay, it will be explained in more detail on how
the Assyrian Empire started, how it evolved over time, and why eventually this evolution inevitably
led to their failure.
Assyria started around the 3rd millennium BCE, but was really acceptably founded around 1900 BCE,
by King Erishum I, who placed the temple of Ashur on the site, reinforcing the land essentially.
(Joshua J. Mark) Ashur was the highest ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the beginning, Mitanni came to control Assyria, but the Hittites invaded and took over, and
replaced the court with mainly Hittites. In that court, king Eriba Adad I, gained influence, and the
Assyrians saw opportunity to assert their out autonomy and expand Assyria. They expanded outward,
into areas previously held by Mitanni. The Hittites, seeing this, stuck back, but were unable to defeat
them, and king Ashur Urballit I came to defeat the remaining Mitanni forces under Hittite
commanders. The Assyrians took huge chunks of the land previously owned by the Mitanni, and later
on expanded north and south, driving out the Hittites and conquering their major strongholds. The
general populace of Mitanni were either planned to be deported safely or assimilated into the growing
empire of Assyria. Those who resisted were killed and sold into slavery. As Assyrians had successfully
taken control over former Mitanni, it was a very prosperous period of the empire. This prosperity
increased when Assyrian sacked Babylon and took control over it. However, about twenty years later
in 1200 BC, with the death of Tiglath Pileser, Assyrians hit a short downfall period, but were
revitalized in the reign of Tiglath Pileser I, who conquered

How Religion Shaped Roman Culture
One of the main bases of Roman culture is Religion. In fact, almost everything the Roman citizens did
revolved around beliefs, gods, and goddesses. Not only was their way of living affected by religion
but the progression of advancement in infrastructure and early forms of technology were as well. By
examining Roman baths and temples, defixiones, and Romanization of the provinces of the empire it
is clear that religion helped to shape Roman advancements in infrastructure and early forms of
technology during this time. Aquae Sulis and its baths are a perfect example of how religion affected
Roman life and culture. Romans took mineral springs of hot water, declared them sacred, and
transformed them into huge public baths and temples for worship. For the Romans believed that
emerging one s self into the hot water would bring healing from the goddess Sulis. Without religious
beliefs their desire for elaborate worship centers would not exist. As a result, the advanced and
fascinating Roman structures found in the city of Aquae Sulis may not have been built either. ... Show

The Romans often looked to the gods as possible allies during the difficult times and sought to reach

struggling with life or usually a vendetta against another citizen, the Romans often wrote curses on
sheets of lead or pewter dedicated to a specific god or goddess and often threw it into the spring at
Aquae Sulis. This is a fantastic example of the Roman s ability to find, create, and produce new means

How My Design Will Help People Of All Ages
Review of Literature
Who can Use the design
My design will help people of all ages. Any gender of people can use my product. As Well as fit

Dillard Reflection
The moth shook its sodden clumps of wing (Dillard 160). A quote as powerful as this one captures the
depth of Dillard s views, which have a crippling effect on her outlook towards life. Dillard s
environment is similar to that of the moth s, a limited amount of space to grow and prosper. Growth is
a factor Dillard sees as extremely important in life, as she tries to learn a vast amount of information.
Dillard has experiences in her memoir that mold who she is and what she has become. In many ways,
I too reflect on similar experiences that mold who I am and what I have become overtime. Dillard and
I experience a crippling environment and a pursuit to try and learn everything. As a child, Dillard is
aware of her own open mindedness and perceptive abilities. A special memory that sticks out to her
most is when she sees a Polyphemus moth crippled by a glass jar too small. Dillard compares this
moth in a crippling environment to her own life in Pittsburgh, which is far too small. Pittsburgh is
unable to hold the dreams that Dillard has. Normal dreams of girls of wealth in Pittsburgh are
marrying the elite boys, who will go on to run the big companies in Pittsburgh. These big company
boys do not interest Dillard, she has a dream to explore and use her knowledge for something bigger.
A moment like this is a crucial turning point in Dillard s life because it represents an image for her to
look at. This moth, described as a deformed creature, is impactful because the moth walks

The Importance Of Being A Working Mother
We live in a world where we are criticized for practically everything, from what we wear, how we act,
to the decisions we make. Being a parent comes with many criticisms, such as how you raise your
child, what you feed your child, or how much attention is given to the child. More controversy lies on
working mothers mainly due to the growing concerns for the child s well being. It is important to see
the negative aspects of being a working mother as well as the positive outcomes.
First and foremost the term mother must be addressed. In this _____ the term mother will refer to
______. In a study done, the mothers working schedule was evaluated in order to see if it was
correlated with the child s behavior. This study was mainly focused on low income mothers working a
non traditional schedule, the nightshift or graveyard shift. The results were what would be expected,
that children experience a higher aggression behavior if their mothers took a nightshift job than if the
mother did not work. (QUOTE) This is partly due to the fact that although mothers are physically
present when their children arrive home, they may not be fully mentally there. That is, mothers who
work at night may be exhausted in the morning due to the lack of sleep. Instead of paying attention to
the child, their minds might be wondering somewhere else. This then raises the question of the quality
of time spent with the child. Taking a look at the different working schedules of working mothers we
see that

The Issue Of Immigration In America
The issue of immigration in America has caused a major controversial uproar, such as whether or not
immigrants have the right to become legal citizens of America and participate in what most citizens
take advantage of, like voting and have a driver s license. Some Americans believe that no one should
be allowed to come to America to live because of the fear of minorities trying to take over. While
others believe there is nothing wrong with the idea, and that should be given the right to become a
citizen of America. Issitt (2016) said, Immigration refers to the movement of persons from one nation

12 Years a Slave movie-analysis Essay
12 Years a Slave
The movie «12 Years a slave» is based on the book «12 Years a Slave» by Soloman Northup. It s his
life story of how he got lured in a trap and kidnapped in 1841. It s about how he was sold into slavery
in the south, and what happened during those 12 years a slave .
The movie was released in 2013, but the book was first published in 1853. The setting of the movie
was in the US, mostly in the states New York and Louisiana.
The film was directed by Steve McQueen, he s also known for directing the movies «Hunger»(2008)
and «Shame»(2011).
I would say that this movie is an example of the genre drama. It s a historical drama film. That is a

He and others are then put on a boat to Louisiana where they re sold. Soloman is sold to a plantation
owner for 1000$, and is sent with him to his home. He works there for quite a while, but there s a
conflict between him and one of the «Masters» there, which makes him have to leave to another
plantation to work. There s a lot of complications, and he s in the middle of a lot of it. He meets
different persons, and one of them is the savior to his 12 year lasting hell. There is a man who helps
free Soloman from slavery, who helps him become a free man again.
The movie takes up a lot of subjects. One obvious is slavery. There is also discrimination of women
and human trafficking.
When one of the plantation owners talk down to his wife, and treats her like she has nothing to say
about stuff, it shows how he thinks of her as less than himself. He discriminates her infront of the
slaves.
Human trafficking is because that s what they ve did when they kidnapped Soloman and brought him
somewhere else to sell him as a slave.
The plot is not presented in a chonological way. It starts off with him as a slave, and then it goes back
to how he actually became one.
I found to symbols that I remember most. The first one is when he breaks the violin that he s written
his familys name on. I take that as a symbol of him loosing hope. Giving up. He no longer believes he

The second symbol is

or used back in colonial times as they are today. Many people did not care if they worked their animal

job that the animal was doing, and how the owner decided to treat his/her animals. In Colonial

Cats entered the New World on the Mayflower. A new breed called the American Shorthair was
created. This tame cat would have been distinguishable from the wild cats by their color patterns, hair
length, and size. The tame cat could help hunt for birds and rodents because they are hardy, tough, and
athletic. It is also likely that the tame cat bred with the wild cats, so new breeds that had the
characteristics of the wild ones entered the domestic stock. Cats were not always liked though. There
were many superstitions about cats, which made people afraid of them. The cat became known as an
indispensable pet for all the genuine witches. The black cat also became known as one of the symbols
of Satan. These superstitions may have started because nightly, silent expeditions of feral cats, or their
weird cries and shining eyes in the dark. So, cats have not always been accepted as a domestic pet.

The Day The Earth Stood Still And Close Encounters Of The...
When you first mention science fiction people s thoughts most likely go to books and films like Star
Wars, Hunger Games, I, Robot, and Avatar, stories we don t always think of as educational . The
future, aliens, space adventures, human like robots, etc. we tend to think of these as silly ideas and
fantasies. But, the world of science fiction teaches us a lot about human nature; our flaws, pitfalls, and
irrationalities.
The flaws of our nature are demonstrated in A.I. a film based off the Supertoys stories. In this series
we read/watched in class, a robot child made to stimulate love for parents without children. This
artificial intelligence human robot does no wrong, loves unconditionally and always listens to their
parent. Yet, it is difficult ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Day the Earth Stood Still and Close Encounters of the Third Kind are such stories. In these stories
shows our human nature in the fact of we are afraid of the unknown. For example, in The Day the
Earth Stood Still we re afraid of the alien and threaten him with military forces throughout the whole
rest of the film. Even when we discover he is only here to warn and save us. Close Encounters of the
Third Kind is different in the fact that we do not threaten the alien visitors we wonder and welcome
them if we wish. It was frightening to the characters but was the right thing to do in the situation. The
irrationality in this film is shown not by the military forces but by the way Ronnie is unsupportive of
Roy. Despites the fact it would be difficult to see your spouse obsessed with one thing and distant to
your family, she should ve realized, stuck with him and supported him through the mess. Many people
are like that in our society; only around for the good times, but when the going gets though they bail
on those around. That to me is irrational. If you re not willing to stick with someone in the good and
the bad, then why be part of their lives?
In essence, science fiction is not just fun and games of aliens, robots and the unknown, it s a teacher.
This genre educates and warns us of our destructive tendency. Science fiction teaches us about human
nature; our flaws, pitfalls, and

Liquidity Risk, Distinctions Between Asset Liquidity And...
Excusive summary
This report is designed to investigate liquidity risk, distinctions between asset liquidity and liability
liquidity management, as well as the main features of an effective liquidity management. In order to
gain insight of liquidity, there is a graph based on the liquidity ratio to analyze the liquidity risk of
four major banks in Australia and the advantages and disadvantages of the liquidity ratio.
Furthermore, it outlines how Basel III effects the banking liquidity management.
Introduction
In recent years, liquidity risk has become the public problem to the commercial banks. Bank for
International Settlement (2008) indicates that the most of bank failures happened with the reason that
the liquidity can not satisfy the demand, therefore, the liquidity risk is the most basic aspect of risk
management. Moreover, the production and implementation of Basel III is able to address the liquidity
risk effectively by applying two ratios which are LCR and NSFR.
1.0 Liquidity risk and liquidity management
1.1 define liquidity risk
Liquidity risk refers to the bank s ability to meet maturing obligations as deposits come due and quick
processing the assets into cash with minimum loss or being able to get enough funds when necessary
and processing profitable securities trading by using available funds (Gup, 2007, p19). The reasons for
liquidity risk occurs can be concluded in two aspects, which are asset side and liability side. On the
asset side, the loan commitments

Death Foretold Symbolism
Colombian writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez wrote Chronicle of a Death Foretold as an allegorical
recollection of events regarding a murder that occurred many years before writing the novel. The
novel takes place in a Colombian town during the 1950 s, in which Marquez highlights many issues
regarding Latin American society, including the significance of virginity. In Chronicle of a Death
Foretold, Marquez employs symbolism of flowers, both real and artificial, to convey the cultural
significance of virginity within Latin American society in the 1950 s.
Flowers, in nature, embody beauty and fragility and must be protected from the dangers of the world.
In this novel, flowers not only display purity and beauty, but also indicate virginity, or lack ... Show

At Angela s house, the wedding decorations consist of bouquets of wax orange blossoms (66). In Latin
American culture, orange blossoms represent virginity as well as chastity in a wedding. However, the
artificial depiction of Angela s orange blossoms symbolizes the fraud of Angela s virginity. Later in
the novel, when Angela decides she does love Bayardo, she had made cloth tulips... and she became a
virgin again just for him (93). Although Angela tries to repossess her lost virginity, she still makes
cloth tulips which represents the artificialness of her futile attempts. Marquez uses Angela to show the
lack of virginity within society and to also express the importance of perceivement in society.
Furthermore, Marquez embedds artificial flowers in many other instances surrounding Angela. One of
these is the first time Bayardo saw Angela. She crossed the square carrying two baskets of artificial
flowers (28). This implies that Angela had lost her virginity before meeting Bayardo which disgraces
women in Latin American society because it represents the loss of honor for both the woman and the
family. When the narrator describes the rearing of the Vicario girls, he states they knew how to... make
artificial flowers (31). As a young child, Angela made artificial flowers which implies that Angela lost
her virginity at a very young age. Angela s friends comfort her about the loss of virginity by telling her
that almost all women lost their virginity in childhood accidents (38). This confirms that Angela did,
in fact, lose her virginity in a childhood accident and that Santiago did not take it from her.
Furthermore, as Angela grows, she [made] cloth flowers and [sang] songs about single women with
her neighbors (32). This statement correlates flowers with single women because single women are

Summary Of Five Equations That Change The World
As stated in the book Five Equations that Changed the World, Michael Guillen discusses that in the
1700 s there were several principles of heat which were certain. The first principal stated that heat
could only flow one way; hot to cold, and second that in heat, friction changes motion (Guillen 171).
But what if those rules weren t entirely set in stone? Rudolf Clausius sought to become the first person
to prove that this was not always the case. Clausius curiousity was sparked when he discovered the
writings of Sadi Carnot. Carnot s observations of heat and energy came from his observations and
investigations in steam engines. Steam engines create energy from two main contributors, the heat
from the boiler and the coolness from the radiator. In the book Reflections of the Motive Force of Heat
by Carnot, Carnot states his principal in which work produced by ... Show more content on

He relied mainly on learning from secondary sources that were being distributed after Carnot was

motion machine in which the work that was produced from it would be turned back into head, which
would fuel said engine, leading to the creation of more work, which was recycled back into heat, and
so on and so forth. This made Clausius curious as to if this process could be applied in a larger
spectrum. Clausius was curious if it could be applied to the universe (Guillen 178 180).
In vein with Cardot s steam engine, Clausius figured that the unit of heat could be exchaged for a unit
of work (otherwise known as energy) without affecting the universal energy as a whole. He also
realized after much contemplation that in steam engines, heat is changed into energy by the pistons. It
was in that moment that he realized that his idea of entropy applied to the everything. This led to the

What is a trend and what makes a trend a trend? What causes people to partake in trends?
A trend is a large, measurable shift that influences our value and behavior. A trend is triggered when a
force asserts itself on a culture, forcing that culture to respond and change. Trends stick with people
and usually makes a big difference in the life of people who are caught in the trend. There are many
types of trends, such as clothing trends, technology trends, electronic trends, beauty trends, etc.. When
asking ourselves why do people partake in trends we realize how easy this question can be answered.
Advertisements and the feeling of fitting in influence every single one of us to take part in a trend. We
may not realize we are in a trend because they can be so simple, but we are. Wearing sweaters, jeans,
and Uggs is a fall/winter trend and many people are caught in the trend without realizing they are
because it s such a simple outfit you don t think much of it. A popular trend that has a lot of people
trying new things is the activated charcoal trend. Activated charcoal is being used for both health and

Blue-Eyed People Genogram
This documentary was very informative. One of the several things I learned is how people form
perceptions based off what they experience. For example, the children in the third grade class felt they
were more superior than other races because of what they had experienced throughout life. When the
teacher asked them how they viewed black people, the children responded with hateful comments, this
was a result of something they had heard or seen previously. During the experiment, I noticed how
immediately the blue eyed children felt some sense of power over the brown eyed people because of
what the teacher told them. Then on the next day they brown eyed people felt superior. Not only did
both sides experience discrimination, but collectively they learned that discrimination was not right.
This was solely because the teacher taught them about discrimination. The scene that I think will stick
with me is the scene after all the children had finished the experiment. In the end, the children

playground the blue eyed children taunted the brown eyed children all because of the labels that were
taught to them. With the prison guards, it was a little harder for them to accept the things they were
being taught. Whenever a blue eyed person would get irritated with Jane Elliot, the would react in a
defensive manner. In return, she used that against them saying that only blue eyed people would act
that way. I believe in the moment, for both groups the labels became true. Essentially, it demonstrates

2,000 years ago the world, in terms of population, was only the size of the United States of America,
300 million people. Today, the world s population is at seven billion and counting. If the population
rose at a steady rate from year 0, we would ve reached 1 billion people by about 210 A.D. This,
however, was not the case. We reached 1 billion people in 1800 A.D, which means that there had to be
very odd growth periods for the population as a whole REWORD ME. From 0 to 1000 A.D. the
population only rose about 10 million people, and well into the second millennium, [the population]
grew less than 0.1 percent each year [1]. However, from the year 1800, with 1 billion people
worldwide, to 1930, the world gained another billion people. We then reached three billion people in
1960, five billion in 1987, and 7 billion in 2013. One can clearly see that once we entered the 19th
century, the world s population started growing like a 14 year old boy going through puberty; rapidly,

Factors That Influence Middle School Parent s Decision
A. Background
This Since the beginning, of this century a global tendency to abolish corporal punishment have been
introduced to challenge old dependence on corporal punishment as a tool for reforming children s

defined as the use of physical force with the intentions of causing a child to experience pain, but not
injury, for the purpose of this control of the child s behavior , corporal punishment was almost

Researchers indicate that it is easier to expect the occurrence of corporal punishment than it is to

Consistently, a massive number of students are subject to corporal punishment in state subsidized
schools. Although, the different issues connected with the hitting or paddling of students, beating is

Androids and the Mind-Body Problem
The Star Trek: The Next Generation episode The Measure of a Man makes a compelling argument on
androids and the mind/body problem. The episode is about Lt. Commander Data who is an android
who acts identically to human behavior. Data is put on trial to find out if he should have human rights
or if he is considered property of Starfleet. The episode makes interesting points as to what qualifies a
person of having a mind and soul.
William Hasker uses multiple categories to list out the different views on the mind/body problem in
his book Metaphysics: Constructing a World View. Captain Picard, Data s commanding officer and the
defending attorney for Data s case, would be classified as a materialist. Picard views Data as having
rights just like the rest of the humans who work for Starfleet. In trial Picard says, We too are
machines, just machines of a different type (Scheerer, 1989). This statement from Picard alone shows
his materialism thinking. Materialism thinking does not believe in souls thus since Data is manmade
he would not have a soul as well making him an equal to human beings. Picard believes since Data is
intelligent, self aware, and has a consciousness of his existence and actions then this makes Data a
sentient.
Commander Bruce Maddox, who believes Data is property of Starfleet and should not have rights, has
emergentism thinking. Maddox refers to Data as an it as Data is no different than a computer making
him property of Starfleet. He justifies his point

Benefits And Benefits Of Youth Sport Essay
Being involved with athletics at a young age is typically looked at as being a good activity that gets
children involved and gets them out for their 60 minutes of play a day. Little do many people know,
there are many benefits to youth sport than just a child s daily exercise. Along with there being many
positives and benefits to youth sport, there are also negatives that can come about. Many of the
benefits include physical, psychological, intellectual, and social benefits. Some of the negatives that
can occur from youth sport are the possibilities of loss of self confidence, frustration, burnout, and
injuries. There are many ways to try and make sure that the youth reap all of the benefits from sport at
a young age and there are certain elements that coaches, parents, and teachers should take to maximize
the befits of sport.
It is important for children to be involved in sport because active participation helps children develop
skills. Research shows that there are many physical benefits to youth sport. Some of the developments
that a child can make from participation in sport are agility, coordination, endurance, flexibility, speed,
and strength (Taskforce, 2013). The research from Maximizing the Benefits of Youth Sport says that
there are more specific developments that children develop from sport. The specific developments

assess the BMD on CBCT images ;( 100) with it, CBCT images can be used to evaluate women with
osteoporosis, thus increasing the possibilities for screening and early detection. A recent study
evaluated the mandibular index on CBCT images and found that the use of this index in CBCT images
was valid;(101) however, the index obtained from CBCT images did not compare well with that
derived from panoramic images, the imaging modality for which the classification was originally
devised. Moreover, the CBCT analysis was conducted in templates, i.e., static slices. These aspects
could have influenced the results (101). It is considered

Nitobe Inazo s Influence On American Culture
Nitobe Inazo and his widely international popular book, influenced the way Japan was viewed by
Americans and the rest of the world during modern times (1900 45). It is questionable whether or not
he was a reliable source. However, without a doubt, Inazo impacted to international view of Japan,
during a time of imperialistic military events leading up to the fall of Japan at the end of World War II.
Nitobe Inazo was an educator, author and diplomat best known for his book Bushido: The Soul of
Japan. Nitobe was born into the Nambu Clan, which were made nobility during his life. He was the
son of a samurai who lived during the Meji and Taisho periods in Japan. After his early life, Inazo,
studied English Literature and Economics at Tokyo University. Then in 1884, he traveled to the United
States, where he stayed for three years, and studied political science and economics at Johns Hopkins.
Throughout his time in Baltimore, Maryland he became a member of a Quaker society. Through the
society, he met his wife Mary Patterson Elkson. In 1891, Inazo return back to Japan to fulfil a teaching
position. Upon returning to Japan, he has received one of his five doctoral degrees and had published
books in English and German. By 1901, he had been appointed to the Japanese colonial government in
Taiwan as a technical advisor, who headed the Sugar ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These statements are criticized by an American, Raymond Buell, in an article entitled, An Open Letter
to Dr. Inazo Nitobe. Buell, says that it is heartbreaking for those who have followed Inazo s past, seen
him faithfully served international cooperation and then to hear that he is indifferent about the
violations of Japan in the League Convent and anti war pact and has no sympathy . This shows that
Americans distrusted Japan s only diplomat because of his harsh outlook on morally wrong events.

White Privilege as it Pertains to White and Minority College Students
My (black) Caribbean students, as a whole, tend to perform much better than my African American
students. Well, consider it over the years, and particularly during slavery, the best and brightest blacks
in this country were weeded out. I don t believe that blacks are naturally inferior to whites, however,
American blacks are the unfortunate end product of an enforced breeding process that has left them at
a mental disadvantage.
Unnamed Professor Racism is often conceived as the summation of prejudice plus power. This does
not have to do so much with the number of people in any group, but their access to ideological and
material resources (including ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yet, she rolls her eyes at the rough English spoken by one African American student and glosses over
the hesitant comments of others. It would seem, by the students tacit and silent acceptance of her
behavior, that this is de rigueur, par for the course.
These days, a college degree serves as one of the few tickets into a socially and economically
comfortable lifestyle. College itself, ideally, should vastly increase the knowledge, skills, and capacity
for critical thinking in its students. However, in this racially imbalanced society, college is the
culmination of a white weighted education, and often ignores its own participation in long standing
racial injustices and inequities. Minority students are expected to jump headlong into white standards
of behavior, without regard for the unique circumstances that render that expectation difficult, if not
impossible, to meet.
My schooling gave me no training in seeing myself as an oppressor, as an unfairly advantaged person,
or as a participant in a damaged culture. I was taught to see myself as an individual whose moral state
depended on her individual moral will. My schooling followed the pattern my colleague Elizabeth
Minnich has pointed out: whites are taught to think of their lives as morally neutral, normative, and
average, and also ideal, so that when we work to benefit others, this is seen as work

The Rights Of Same Sex Couples
Soppho: Have you heard, Socrates, that our government is intending to extend the rights of marriages
to same sex couples? Under that change, gay partners will then be recognized equally as heterosexual
husbands and wives.
Socrates: Yes, but politicians and those in positions of influence have no business to mess with the
standard of God relating to marriage, let alone decide to debate this issue as if it is open for discussion.
Because of the way they are boasted, they don t have a proper perspective on themselves and where
they fit in this life. The standard is clear by the way that men and women are made, so the coupling of
heterosexuals is shown to be divine.
Soppho: That s bigotry, if you will feel the love between homosexuals is ... Show more content on

Crazy, right? Road to equality!
Socrates: Here s what you have to understand about bans on interracial marriage: they were designed
to divide the races, and that was and is wrong. Traditional marriage encourages and supports bringing
the genders together, which is good. Ethnicity is not a fundamental merit or facet of marriage. But
gender is. Therefor, including interracial couples does not draw an analogy for the redefinition of
marriage. Interracial, opposite sex couples can still produce biological children together. Same sex
marriage is a redefinition of marriage that s something very different.
Soppho: First, you have some things right (tradition, racism) but fail to provide an example of when it
is ever okay to pass a form of discrimination against gay people. Second, if restricting the legality of
marriage based on race is what you say it is racial discrimination why ban the legal recognition of a
choice of partner on the basis of gender? That would qualify as sex discrimination.
Socrates: Must our jurisdiction then permit the marriage between polygamous parties? If marriage is
redefined so that the sex of spouses is irrelevant, why stop there? It can be further refined so that even
the age and blood relation of the spouses is also irrelevant. If marriage is a fundamental rights issue,
there can be no grounds for saying no to polygamists or non consenting unions.
Soppho: Setting aside how

Defining Identity Essays
There are millions of words across the globe that are used to describe people and uncover their
identity, but what is identity? How can you begin to describe something that varies so greatly from
one human being to another? Can you create a universal meaning for a word describing human
concepts that people often fail to define for themselves? Of course there isn t one definition to define
such a word. It is an intricate aspect of human nature, and it has a definition just as complex.
Webster s dictionary describes identity as sameness of essential character, individuality, or the fact of
being the same person as one claims to be. So your identity can include your name, your age, your job
title, or simply characteristics of your ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Everyone has heard that it is who you are on the inside that counts. This part of your identity is what
makes a person truly unique. It is true that someone can have the same name, be the same age, or have
the same job as you. So your identities would seem very similar. It is possible for two people from the
same place that share such numerous interests to believe that they are one and the same. That is until
you take a closer look and examine the person?s thought and feelings. No two people are exactly
alike. Our identities spawn individuality. Therefore, your identity also shows what kind of person you
are beneath the skin. It is a picture of how your view your self and your purpose in the world.
Since identity is so often built from fads, it is a reflection of culture. People want to be like what they
see on television and hear on the radio. So people mold themselves to be like the idols they are so
infatuated with. It?s always about what?s popular, and by looking at a large group you can tell what
that is at any given time, because people like to connect their identities with one another. It creates a
sense of belonging and acceptance that humans need in order to feel like they fit into society. People
have to be able to bond with one another. Having a vastly different identity makes you an outcast, and
no one wants to know how it feels to be the loner. So people alter themselves to ensure that they will

History Of Rice Harvesting In Canada
Traditionally, rice is harvest in a big group of your family in later months of summer each year. In
August people would move to rice camps for harvesting of rice. Once rice would ripen most of their
energy was then focused on harvesting. According to Harvesting and Processing in Canada, harvesting
wild rice is also called knocking the rice where they would use canoes that are said to be the best
watercraft to use because of their shape and smoothness, which causes the least amount harm to the
rice plants. The only tools the Dakotas and Ojibwa need were to move the canoe through the plants
and ricing sticks. They would use the canoe paddles to get to the wild rice beds, also the long poles
were used to move through the rice beds. Every harvester ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fresh harvested rice would then be dried almost as soon as it came off the lake because If wasn t,
it would mold very quickly. The rice would then be carried to campsites in bark trays where it was
spread out to dry. The freshly harvested rice would then continue to ripen. To get rid of any moisture
before roasting it, it must have air, sun, and sometimes heat. According to Harvesting and Processing
in Canada rice would be dried on many different things such as, woven mats, animal skins, layers of
grass or a sheet of birch bark sewn together called apakwaan. While the rice is spread out, it was then
picked over to remove any pieces of stalks, leaves, and insects that might be in the batch. If for some
reason they couldn t get all the rice to dry immediately, they would then preserve it by digging holes
in the soil by lakes and keeping it in water for up to a week. One of the many important steps in
preserving rice for later use was dehydrating or roasting the kernel. This process served many
important reasons such as: it would then reduce the amount of moisture in the grain; it also destroyed
the germs so it would not re sprout, and it would loosen the hull from the

In that court, king Eriba Adad I, gained influence, and the Assyrians saw opportunity to assert their out autonomy and expand Assyria. They expanded outward, into areas previously held by Mitanni. The Hittites, seeing this, stuck back, but were unable to defeat them, and king Ashur Urballit I came to defeat the remaining Mitanni forces under Hittite commanders. The Assyrians took huge chunks of the land previously owned by the Mitanni, and later on expanded north and south, driving out the Hittites and conquering their major strongholds. The general populace of Mitanni were either planned to be deported safely or assimilated into the growing empire of Assyria. Those who resisted were killed and sold into slavery. • 9. How Religion Shaped Roman Culture One of the main bases of Roman culture is Religion. In fact, almost everything the Roman citizens did revolved around beliefs, gods, and goddesses. Not only was their way of living affected by religion but the progression of advancement in infrastructure and early forms of technology were as well. By examining Roman baths and temples, defixiones, and Romanization of the provinces of the empire it is clear that religion helped to shape Roman advancements in infrastructure and early forms of technology during this time. Aquae Sulis and its baths are a perfect example of how religion affected Roman life and culture. Romans took mineral springs of hot water, declared them sacred, and transformed them into huge public baths and temples for worship. For the Romans believed that emerging one s self into the hot water would bring healing from the goddess Sulis. Without religious beliefs their desire for elaborate worship centers would not exist. Being a parent comes with many criticisms, such as how you raise your child, what you feed your child, or how much attention is given to the child. More controversy lies on working mothers mainly due to the growing concerns for the child s well being. It is important to see the negative aspects of being a working mother as well as the positive outcomes. First and foremost the term mother must be addressed. In this _____ the term mother will refer to ______. In a study done, the mothers working schedule was evaluated in order to see if it was correlated with the child s behavior. This study was mainly focused on low income mothers working a non traditional schedule, the nightshift or graveyard shift. The results were what would be expected, that children experience a higher aggression behavior if their mothers took a nightshift job than if the mother did not work. (QUOTE) This is partly due to the fact that although mothers are physically present when their children arrive home, they may not be fully mentally there. That is, mothers who work at night may be exhausted in the morning due to the lack of sleep. Instead of paying attention to the child, their minds might be wondering somewhere else. In one last story, Atlas wanted to be relieved of the burden of holding the heavens up and asked Hercules to hold the sky, but instead Hercules tricked him to continue to continue holding up the sky. Poor Atlas, he just wanted a break from holding up the sky and when it was so close within his reach it was taken away from him. In all that happened to him, not once did he ever retaliate or get upset, he just accepted what happened to him. He seems as almost someone who accepts his punishments, doesn t complain, and moves on with life. All stories are similar in the fact that Atlas is made to hold the heavens up for all eternity, either as a mountain or a man. Even when we discover he is only here to warn and save us. Close Encounters of the Third Kind is different in the fact that we do not threaten the alien visitors we wonder and welcome them if we wish. It was frightening to the characters but was the right thing to do in the situation. The irrationality in this film is shown not by the military forces but by the way Ronnie is unsupportive of Roy. Despites the fact it would be difficult to see your spouse obsessed with one thing and distant to your family, she should ve realized, stuck with him and supported him through the mess. Many people are like that in our society; only around for the good times, but when the going gets though they bail on those around. That to me is irrational. The novel takes place in a Colombian town during the 1950 s, in which Marquez highlights many issues regarding Latin American society, including the significance of virginity. In Chronicle of a Death Foretold, Marquez employs symbolism of flowers, both real and artificial, to convey the cultural significance of virginity within Latin American society in the 1950 s. At Angela s house, the wedding decorations consist of bouquets of wax orange blossoms (66). In Latin American culture, orange blossoms represent virginity as well as chastity in a wedding. Later in the novel, when Angela decides she does love Bayardo, she had made cloth tulips... and she became a virgin again just for him (93). Although Angela tries to repossess her lost virginity, she still makes cloth tulips which represents the artificialness of her futile attempts. Furthermore, Marquez embedds artificial flowers in many other instances surrounding Angela. One of these is the first time Bayardo saw Angela. She crossed the square carrying two baskets of artificial flowers (28). Summary Of Five Equations That Change The World As stated in the book Five Equations that Changed the World, Michael Guillen discusses that in the 1700 s there were several principles of heat which were certain. The first principal stated that heat could only flow one way; hot to cold, and second that in heat, friction changes motion (Guillen 171). But what if those rules weren t entirely set in stone? Rudolf Clausius sought to become the first person to prove that this was not always the case. Clausius curiousity was sparked when he discovered the writings of Sadi Carnot. Carnot s observations of heat and energy came from his observations and investigations in steam engines. This made Clausius curious as to if this process could be applied in a larger spectrum. Clausius was curious if it could be applied to the universe (Guillen 178 180). In vein with Cardot s steam engine, Clausius figured that the unit of heat could be exchaged for a unit of work (otherwise known as energy) without affecting the universal energy as a whole. The episode makes interesting points as to what qualifies a person of having a mind and soul. William Hasker uses multiple categories to list out the different views on the mind/body problem in his book Metaphysics: Constructing a World View. Captain Picard, Data s commanding officer and the defending attorney for Data s case, would be classified as a materialist. This statement from Picard alone shows his materialism thinking. Materialism thinking does not believe in souls thus since Data is manmade he would not have a soul as well making him an equal to human beings. Picard believes since Data is intelligent, self aware, and has a consciousness of his existence and actions then this makes Data a sentient. The Effects Of Marking Steating Additionally, beam hardening happens as the energy levels of polychromatic X ray beams used with the CBCT are not uniform, so the lower energy photons can be absorbed easily at the edges of the scanned area causing hardening of the X ray beam, which resulting in lower gray values toward the subject center causing what is called cup¬ping artifact even if the density all over the subject is identical (91) Ring artifacts caused by defects or un calibrated components in the detector forming concentric rings in the CBCT im¬age. Dense metallic materials scanning can cause severe streaking artifacts when their gray values are more than the maxi¬mum level of operation that the software can deal with (91). So, more studies are still needed to develop an optimal segmentation technology specific to individual CBCT images. For over a century, conventional dental radiographs have been the dominant source of diagnostic information on the maxillofacial complex (97). Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) is a more recent development, and its clinical application in the field of dento maxilla facial radiology is gaining importance and becoming widespread (98). Although the clinical relevance of dental diagnosis and pre surgical assessment of jaw bone density has been clearly demonstrated, the available research on CBCT based bone quality is scant (99). A new tool, the computed tomography index, was proposed to assess the BMD on CBCT images ;( 100) with it, CBCT images can be used to evaluate women with osteoporosis, thus increasing the possibilities for screening and early detection. A recent study evaluated the mandibular index on CBCT images and found that the use of this index in CBCT images was valid;(101) however, the index obtained from CBCT images did not compare well with that derived from panoramic images, the imaging modality for which the classification was originally devised. Moreover, the CBCT analysis was conducted in templates, i.e., static slices. These aspects could have influenced the results (101). It is considered ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Nitobe Inazo s Influence On American Culture Nitobe Inazo and his widely international popular book, influenced the way Japan was viewed by Americans and the rest of the world during modern times (1900 45). It is questionable whether or not he was a reliable source. However, without a doubt, Inazo impacted to international view of Japan, during a time of imperialistic military events leading up to the fall of Japan at the end of World War II. Nitobe Inazo was an educator, author and diplomat best known for his book Bushido: The Soul of Japan. Nitobe was born into the Nambu Clan, which were made nobility during his life. Then in 1884, he traveled to the United States, where he stayed for three years, and studied political science and economics at Johns Hopkins. These statements are criticized by an American, Raymond Buell, in an article entitled, An Open Letter to Dr. Inazo Nitobe. Buell, says that it is heartbreaking for those who have followed Inazo s past, seen him faithfully served international cooperation and then to hear that he is indifferent about the violations of Japan in the League Convent and anti war pact and has no sympathy . This shows that Americans distrusted Japan s only diplomat because of his harsh outlook on morally wrong events. One can also see this with the Rape of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

White Privilege as it Pertains to White and Minority College Students My (black) Caribbean students, as a whole, tend to perform much better than my African American students. Well, consider it over the years, and particularly during slavery, the best and brightest blacks in this country were weeded out. I don t believe that blacks are naturally inferior to whites, however, American blacks are the unfortunate end product of an enforced breeding process that has left them at a mental disadvantage. Unnamed Professor Racism is often conceived as the summation of prejudice plus power. Yet, she rolls her eyes at the rough English spoken by one African American student and glosses over the hesitant comments of others. It would seem, by the students tacit and silent acceptance of her behavior, that this is de rigueur, par for the course. These days, a college degree serves as one of the few tickets into a socially and economically comfortable lifestyle. College itself, ideally, should vastly increase the knowledge, skills, and capacity for critical thinking in its students. However, in this racially imbalanced society, college is the culmination of a white weighted education, and often ignores its own participation in long standing racial injustices and inequities. Minority students are expected to jump headlong into white standards of behavior, without regard for the unique circumstances that render that expectation difficult, if not impossible, to meet. My schooling gave me no training in seeing myself as an oppressor, as an unfairly advantaged person, or as a participant in a damaged culture. I was taught to see myself as an individual whose moral state depended on her individual moral will. My schooling followed the pattern my colleague Elizabeth Minnich has pointed out: whites are taught to think of their lives as morally neutral, normative, and average, and also ideal, so that when we work to benefit others, this is seen as work ... • 42. The Rights Of Same Sex Couples Soppho: Have you heard, Socrates, that our government is intending to extend the rights of marriages to same sex couples? Under that change, gay partners will then be recognized equally as heterosexual husbands and wives. Socrates: Yes, but politicians and those in positions of influence have no business to mess with the standard of God relating to marriage, let alone decide to debate this issue as if it is open for discussion. Because of the way they are boasted, they don t have a proper perspective on themselves and where they fit in this life. The standard is clear by the way that men and women are made, so the coupling of heterosexuals is shown to be divine. Soppho: That s bigotry, if you will feel the love between homosexuals is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Crazy, right? Road to equality! Socrates: Here s what you have to understand about bans on interracial marriage: they were designed to divide the races, and that was and is wrong. Traditional marriage encourages and supports bringing the genders together, which is good. Ethnicity is not a fundamental merit or facet of marriage. But gender is. Therefor, including interracial couples does not draw an analogy for the redefinition of marriage. Interracial, opposite sex couples can still produce biological children together. Same sex marriage is a redefinition of marriage that s something very different. Soppho: First, you have some things right (tradition, racism) but fail to provide an example of when it is ever okay to pass a form of discrimination against gay people. Second, if restricting the legality of marriage based on race is what you say it is racial discrimination why ban the legal recognition of a choice of partner on the basis of gender? That would qualify as sex discrimination. Socrates: Must our jurisdiction then permit the marriage between polygamous parties? If marriage is redefined so that the sex of spouses is irrelevant, why stop there? It can be further refined so that even the age and blood relation of the spouses is also irrelevant. If marriage is a fundamental rights issue, there can be no grounds for saying no to polygamists or non consenting unions. Soppho: Setting aside how ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Defining Identity Essays There are millions of words across the globe that are used to describe people and uncover their identity, but what is identity? How can you begin to describe something that varies so greatly from one human being to another? Can you create a universal meaning for a word describing human concepts that people often fail to define for themselves? Of course there isn t one definition to define such a word. It is an intricate aspect of human nature, and it has a definition just as complex. Webster s dictionary describes identity as sameness of essential character, individuality, or the fact of being the same person as one claims to be. So your identity can include your name, your age, your job title, or simply characteristics of your ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Everyone has heard that it is who you are on the inside that counts. This part of your identity is what makes a person truly unique. It is true that someone can have the same name, be the same age, or have the same job as you. So your identities would seem very similar. It is possible for two people from the same place that share such numerous interests to believe that they are one and the same. That is until you take a closer look and examine the person?s thought and feelings. No two people are exactly alike. Our identities spawn individuality. Therefore, your identity also shows what kind of person you are beneath the skin. It is a picture of how your view your self and your purpose in the world. Since identity is so often built from fads, it is a reflection of culture. People want to be like what they see on television and hear on the radio. So people mold themselves to be like the idols they are so infatuated with. It?s always about what?s popular, and by looking at a large group you can tell what that is at any given time, because people like to connect their identities with one another. It creates a sense of belonging and acceptance that humans need in order to feel like they fit into society. People have to be able to bond with one another. Having a vastly different identity makes you an outcast, and no one wants to know how it feels to be the loner. So people alter themselves to ensure that they will ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In August people would move to rice camps for harvesting of rice. Once rice would ripen most of their energy was then focused on harvesting. The fresh harvested rice would then be dried almost as soon as it came off the lake because If wasn t, it would mold very quickly. The rice would then be carried to campsites in bark trays where it was spread out to dry. The freshly harvested rice would then continue to ripen. To get rid of any moisture before roasting it, it must have air, sun, and sometimes heat. According to Harvesting and Processing in Canada rice would be dried on many different things such as, woven mats, animal skins, layers of grass or a sheet of birch bark sewn together called apakwaan. While the rice is spread out, it was then picked over to remove any pieces of stalks, leaves, and insects that might be in the batch. If for some reason they couldn t get all the rice to dry immediately, they would then preserve it by digging holes in the soil by lakes and keeping it in water for up to a week. One of the many important steps in preserving rice for later use was dehydrating or roasting the kernel. This process served many important reasons such as: it would then reduce the amount of moisture in the grain; it also destroyed the germs so it would not re sprout, and it would loosen the hull from the ...
