How does your media product represent particular social groups?
My model is wearing a leather jacket, which is sterotypical for some people who listen to rock. It uses black, yellow and red which are kind of rockish colours.
Guitar used to show rock Font used to shw rock Leather jacket shown again.
Indie hat to draw in indie fans Indie jacket to draw in indie fans A guitar to show the type of music they play.
“I’ve got a lot of s*** to prove to those back-stabbers and I’m ready to come out swinging.” Swearing used, the word swinging is used, which is not usually used in younger generation dialect.
“Rail and Bail” “I was drug addict, drove whilst under the influence of drugs and alcohol and ended up in jail” The singer has gone through drug phases which most rockers have, she has drank a lot which rocker are famous for and it can relate back to the audience.
How did you attract/ address your audience Using an attactive female model on the front cover in fashionable clothing promotes an enigmatic look. Offering a poster of new artists. Showing a mid-close up of my model Using convential magazine language such as EXCLUSIVE Using Bold and Large fonts Using bright colours and colours that work well with each other.
In my images I have used clothind which the readers may wear. I have used props which relate back to the genre and their music. I have used colloquism to make the audience feel at ease e.g. “Rail and Bail”
What kind of media institution might distribute you media products and why?
The Bauer Media Group is a large German publishing company based in Hamburg, which operates in 15 countries worldwide. Since the company was founded in 1875, it has been privately-owned and under management by the Bauer family. It was formerly called Heinrich Bauer Verlag KG, abbreviated to HBV and usually shortened to H. Bauer. Worldwide circulation of Bauer Media Group's magazine titles amounts to 38 million magazines a week
Bauer Media is a division of the Bauer Media Group, Europe’s largest privately owned publishing Group. The Group is a worldwide media empire offering over 300 magazines in 15 countries, as well as online, TV and radio stations. Bauer Media joined the Bauer Media Group in January 2008 following acquisition of Emap plc’s consumer and specialist magazines, radio, TV, online and digital businesses. Collectively, the Group employs some 6,400 people and has a 2008 turnover of 2.08 billion Euros.
Bauer will ditribute my magazine because they currently only distribute three rock magazines in the UK, Q, mojo and Kerrang! My music magazine goes with their speciality Rock. And either way they will be making a profit. If my magazine become successful they will dominate the distribution of mainstream rock magazines in the UK.
