3d Printer Essay
3D Printer With Dad
The day finally came, I walked over to my front door and excitement filled my face as I saw a big brown box sitting on my porch. I screamed, "Dad
Guess what!"
"What," my Dad screamed, I screamed again, "The 3D printer came." As I open the front door, the alarm system screams, "Front Door," I run outside
and grab the package and run back inside. At this moment I was literally going to scream just out of excitement because the printer finally came. I ran
to the junk drawer trying to not slip in my socks, and I grab my pocket knife to open that box up. At that moment I could hear "Thud thud thud thud,"
I knew my dad was coming down the stairs. My dad appeared with his brown hair and Msu sweatshirt. The box also was ... Show more content on

I ran downstairs to grab the glue when I got there my dad was already working on getting it glued I approached him and I asked, "How is it going."
My dad says kind of spooked, "First wow man don't sneak up on me like that second it's going great the glue seems to be working out great"
"Yes" I say estatically. At that moment I had a feeling that everything was going to work out just fine.
"Done! you will be able to start building ,but don't put the LCD in because that is where the glue is drying and we don't want to mess that up right."
"Right" I say in a reassuring voice. So I take up the metallic black frame trying to not let the glue drip down as I run up the stairs taking two at a
time. Once I get up there I start constructing the y axis and placing the bed. First I started by taking the rods and I slid them through the holes of the
printer and slowly but surely the printer took shape. I slid from building the plate to putting a lcd screen to actually wiring the 3D printer the last thing
left to do was put the power supply. I screwed in the last few wires for the power supply. I slowly plugged the three pronged plug into the outlet no
sound came there was no whirring of the fans there was nothing the screen didn't turn on we knew something was wrong ;but my dad wouldn't give up
even if I might of wanted to he wouldn't.
I started researching after a while my dad

Matsushita And Phillips Case Analysis
Matsushita and Phillips Phillips and Matsushita are both electronics companies that started relatively around the same time, faced problems around the
same time and went through failures and successes that they themselves created. Phillips Introduction Phillips started out in Holland and became very
successful, very quickly, becoming the third largest light–bulb producer in Europe. Phillips continued to focus on light bulbs as others in the industry
began to branch out. By 1919, however, Phillips entered into an agreement with General Electric and began to become a less centralized company and
into a more decentralized sales organization. Organizational Development The National Organizations (NOs) during the war proved to be the most
successful, due to their self–sufficiency and allowance to adapt to current, country–specific market conditions. "Eventually, responsiveness extended
beyond adaptive marketing." They began to take from one market and implement into another. While Phillips in Canada created the company's first
color TV, Phillips in the UK created the first TVs with teletext. While the formal corporate structure existed, NOs were the ones in charge.
Reorganization Phillips had to abandon their attempts at VHS when the North American Phillips outsourced their VHS project to Matsushita. In 1971,
with a new CEO became a new structure. This occurred with many different CEOs at different times with the company and still in 2009 the financials

The Reasons Of Non Compliance
IV.The reasons of non–compliance
Due to the fact, the board dismissed Steven Sewell from CEO because his characteristics are not suitable with the characteristics of new board. This
reason is very subjective and unreasonable. This paper would not examine the unreasonable reason from the board of FDC as above, but will observe
the fact that the removal of a director by the board is not the first time happened. There are some previous cases which are similar to the FDC case in
which directors were dismissed by the board, such as in the case of Allied Mining & Processing Ltd v Boldbow Pty Ltd ("Allied v Boldbow"), Central
Exchange Ltd v Rivkin Financial Services Ltd ("Central v Rivkin"), and Scottish & Colonial Ltd v Australian Power & Gas Co & Ltd ("Scottish v
Australian Power"). In those three cases, the decision by the judges is considerably different. In Allied v Boldbow and Central v Rivkin, the judges
state that Section 203D does not replace any other power of removal possessed by the company. Therefore, a company could regulate in their
constitution to dismiss a director without the need for a vote of shareholders (in defined circumstances). Conversely, in Scottish v Australian Power,
the judges emphasise that Section 203D is mandatory, and therefore, the process of removal a director must follow Section 203D. Due to those cases,
it is clear that there are pro and contra about the dismissal of a director as stipulated in the Section 203D. One side argues that

Analysis Of ' The ' Of The Bedford Anthology Of World...
In English 2111 we studied from the books of The Bedford Anthology of World Literature volume one through three. We as a class had to analyze
three units; which were units 1 (Creation), 2 (Epic Heroes), and 3 (Courtly Love). Each unit had its level of difficulties but my favorite unit was unit 3
Courtly Love. Courtly Love gave me different outlook of love when I read the different poems and help me understand things I did not understand. To
finish the summer strong we are to analyze once more taking one story from each unit to analyze power. In my opinion you could use the word power
in multiple ways. You could have the power of love, the power to rule over, or just to have power to be able to move your body.
In the unit one, choosing the Book of Genesis as my story to analyze I believe God has all the power. God all the power to create everything that
ever exists. To explains his power, "In the beginning of creation, when God made heaven and earth, the earth was without form and void, with
darkness over the face of the abyss, and a mighty wind that swept over the surface of waters. God said, 'Let there be light,' and there was light; and
God saw that light was good, and he separated light from darkness. He called the light day, and the darkness night. So evening came, and morning
came, the first day. "(Volume 1, page 140) God had the power to create and give names for he was the main source of power. His power is very
imaginable because we as humans can only create certain

Understanding The Real Life Events During The Oardwalk Empire
oardwalk Empire, the show that demonstrates the real–life events that occurred during the early 1920s in Atlantic City, New Jersey, represents several
intercultural communication concepts. This historically–based drama series provided through HBO was chosen because of its wide variety of themes,
conflicts, and plots driven through certain means of communication and interactions among the characters. For instance, the communication and
intercultural models observed while watching the television show only enhance the audience's entertainment and interest. Atlantic City was thrown
back to the days of a lawless country, which was due to prohibition and the consumption of alcohol that was not going to be stopped by anyone. In
fact, most political servants were involved in the daily activities and were either profiting from bootlegging alcohol or helping those who did. They
profited monetarily and were in power and control because they could hide in the shadows and still appear to be the pillars of society. It could be
said that the very definition of prohibition in the early 1920s where a patron could have any alcohol he desired as long as he was willing to pay for
it. The illegality of selling and drinking spirits affected the citizens' lives, some positively and others negatively, and many were part of the
extracurricular activities except those who obeyed the laws of the time. The three main concepts that will be discussed in much further detail include

Comparing Artist of the Beautiful, Rappaccini's Daughter,...
Comparing Perfection in Artist of the Beautiful, Rappaccini's Daughter, Birthmark and Prophetic Pictures
In four of Hawthorne's stories there is a struggle for power and control as a vehicle to obtain perfection or beauty. In "The Artist of the Beautiful",
"Rappaccini's Daughter", "The Birthmark" and "The Prophetic Pictures" the characters are controlled by their desire for perfection in their creations,
but they do not achieve their goals without sacrifice.
In "The Artist of the Beautiful" Owen is spends years perfecting his creation. His quest for "the Beautiful" controls him. His sensitivity to delicate
perfection affects him even physically as he is made ill by the large mechanical steam engine. "Being once carried to see a ... Show more content on

His desire for knowledge through scientific experimentation is the central purpose of his life. According to Baglioni "he cares infinitely more for
science than for mankind". By binding his daughter to the poisonous garden Rappaccini had used his power as a scientist to take away her
freedom. Beatrice has no power, she is helpless. "There was an awful doom...the effect of my father's fatal love of science, which estranged me
from all society of my kind". Unfortunately she is also the victim of Baglioni's quest for power and revenge against her father. Baglioni's power,
convincing Giovanni that Beatrice could be saved, conquers even Rappaccini's control. In their obsessive pursuit of knowledge and power as a
means of scientific control Rappaccini and Baglioni sacrifice Beatrice (and even Giovanni). They all overstep their boundaries by using her and
only when she kills herself does Beatrice reclaim the power over her own life. In the pursuit of knowledge and power great sacrifices are made. But
unlike "The Artist of the Beautiful" the person who makes the sacrifice (Beatrice) has no choice. She is punished and the men who would use her as a
means of control in life are not.
We again see the quest for perfection on the part of a scientifically minded person in "The Birthmark". Alymer's obsessive thoughts and determination
to free his wife and himself from the birthmark prove to be

Reflection Paper on Foodcorp Simulation
Reflection Paper on Foodcorp Simulation
The Foodcorp simulation was a great exercise for this class. It was a fun activity. I felt that the materials and the situations reflected the real
organizational experiences. There were thirteen roles with different responsibilities in the simulation. These roles create astructure of the organization.
For example, these roles create a three level of hierarchy, two groups of products; frozen foods and dry foods, and the subsidiaries. I played the
roles of senior vice president of frozen foods, vice president of production and vice president of sales and marketing of frozen foods. For these roles, I
had the direct responsibilities to improve the situations that had been the issues in the frozen ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In other words the structure should develop more multifaceted and lateral forms of communication and coordination. By shifting some positions among
departments, I also believe that Foodcorp would solve some structural problems. By doing the reorganization, Foodcorp could reduce time –consuming
process and the problems could be approached right away.
I noticed that Foodcorp also had a problem with employee's motivation.
To solve this problem, Foodcorp should develop its human resource strategies. If we look at the progressive companies such as Apple Inc and
Google, we will see that they provide their employees the competitive compensation and attractive benefit plans. I believe this is because they know
that the most valuable asset is their people. I also agree with them because I recognize that every organization depends on their people. "When the fit
between people and organizations is poor, one or both suffer: individuals may feel neglected or oppressed, and organizations sputter because individuals
withdraw their efforts or even work against organizational purpose. Conversely, a good fit benefits both: individuals find meaningful and satisfying
work, and organizations get the talent and energy they need to succeed"(Bolman, & Deal, p.137). Therefore, many successful companies always seek
for the best human resource strategies to keep their employees and make them loyal to the company. According to the memos, there

Re: what can a person do under the power of attorney in terms of gift transfers
Relevant Facts
Our client Mark Down had our firm do a will for him several years ago that gives all of his assets to his children (his wife died previously). He also
executed a power of attorney, giving his son, Slowe, the power to handle all of his financial assets. Slowe called and told me that old Mark's health is
starting to deteriorate and although he's still healthy, Slowe is worried that Mark may need Medicaid assistance sometime in the future. Therefore, he
wants to try to remove Mark's assets (which consist mainly of a $300,000 brokerage account) from his name and give his assets to his children. Slowe

statute. Mr. Ferrara's will clearly states that he wanted to his assets to go to charity and not family.
The court determined that notwithstanding the addendum removing the $10,000 limitation, the nephew did not make transfers in the Principle's best
interest as required by statute.
Application to Our Case
In our case Mr. Mark Downs has a will that states since his wife has passed previously then his surviving children are to receive all his assets
including Slowe. So even though Slowe is the power of attorney, he can and should transfer the assets. Under the NY Gen Oblig Law 5–1501 it is
stated clearly that the attorney in fact can make self–gifts as long as it is in the principle's best interest, as well as minimizing income estate. In 1996
the Legislature amended 5–1501(1) adding M, authorizing the attorney in fact to make gifts to the principle's spouse, children, remote descendants and
parents not to exceed $10,000 in any year. This addition feels that gift giving is meant that the principal authorizes the attorney in fact "to make gifts
either out right or to a trust for the sole benefit of one or more specific persons only for the purposes which the agent reasonably deems to be in the best
interest of the principal, specifically including minimization of income estate, inheritance, generation skipping transfer

Mad Max Fury Road Analysis
Mad Max Fury Road directed and written by George Miller is an Action movie and explores themes such as feminism and an apocalyptic future.
The film is set in a desert wasteland in Australia and follows the characters of Max and Furiosa. Max is captured early on in the film by war boys
who are the enslaved warrior followers of a tyrannical ruler Immortan Joe who controls the survivors supplies and water. Max escapes when he is
attached as a 'blood bag' to one of the war boys vehicles and they crash while pursuing Furiosa. The two forge an alliance and they continue on a
journey to find a better place.
Max as a character is portrayed as a troubled lone ranger and shows aggressive traits in the beginning of the film describing his world as of fire and
blood. In his interior monologue at the very start and throughout the film voices of people from his past taunt him. These voices and visions are
suggestive of his guilt towards people he could not save or help in his past. When Max encounters Furiosa and the other women who were Joe's
wives and breeders and held as possessions by Immortan Joe. He is aggressive towards them and is desperate to escape his chains threatening them
by pointing a gun and forcing them to try to cut his chain. Max's character starts to change after he joins agrees to let Furiosa and the women back
into the war rig however he is still very cautious of them. This is representative of his lone wolf persona in this apocalyptic world he has lost trust for

The Bible in The Upside Down Kingdom by Donald B. Kraybill...
The book The Upside Down Kingdom by Donald B. Kraybill does an analysis of the bible in a different approach taken by readers. The main point
of the book is to help readers understand Gods kingdom in a world that is turned upside down. Kraybill shows how upside down and radical the
kingdom was in the first century Palestine and how it is the same in today's society. In other words Kraybill illustrated the image that people who are
at the top of the pyramids, the wealthy and the powerful, will be at the bottom of the pyramid in Gods kingdom if they are not humbled towards the
poor and hungry. The book also clarifies the importance of practicing religious principle through the teachings of Christ in relation to the poor and
suffering. In... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
"An obsession with possessions enslaves us to the demon of worry. Jesus invites us to change our priorities, focus on the kingdom, and share with the
needy" (Kraybill, 2011, p.101). A man'swealth will be measured by the love, kindness and empathy he has for the poor and the hungry in Gods
kingdom. For this matter Jesus wants the wealthy to humble themselves and receive their blessing by offering opportunities to the poor instead of
being greedy and celebrating their own wealth. Additionally, chapter six elaborates its main point by exploring the six dangers of wealth. The six
dangers are as followed; beware of the strangler, beware of the worrier, beware of the blinder, beware of the boss, beware of the damner, and beware
of the curse. The first danger, beware of the strangler, refers to the faith of people and the obstacles around them that could prevent the faith of God to
flourish in their lives. Kraybill furthers this belief by associating the people with a seed, and the many obstacles that prevent its fruit from thriving.
The second danger address in the book is to beware of the worrier. Kraybill expands on this by letting its readers know that Jesus does not want us
to worry about tomorrow. This is due to the fact that tomorrow will be filled with its own worries and the worries of today are already a lot to
handle. Moreover, the third danger is to beware of the blinder. The concept is to not let wealth and power blind ones path and fall astray

Essay on Dell Analysis
Dell Analysis
In spite of Dell's Direct Model strategy, the company had lost any price advantage it had over its competitors. Dell also had an issue with channel
inventory availability driven by the fact that their competitors were attempting to replicate their strategy. This was a large threat to the organization
because they so heavily relied on just–in–time delivery of parts. Dell's competitors faced many challenges to the direct distribution method, however.
According to Exhibit 8 in the case ("Ratings of PC Vendors by Corporate Mangers with PC–buying Responsibility"), channel based support was rated
the lowest on all scales, showing that this was Dell's riskiest area as well.

Also, Dell did not have a price advantage over competitors despite their lower costs due to the Direct Model. Finally, the firm did not have a large
share of the foreign market, which has the highest growth potential.
Value Chain Dell was more capable of maintaining the Direct Model strategy than most, if not all, of its competitors. The resources that supported this
advantage were the close relationship Dell had with its suppliers, a solid just–in–time inventory management system, and proximity of warehouses and
production facilities to assembly operations. In addition, Dell's computers developed a reputation of reliability and the company excelled at customer
service. While the Direct Model seemed to challenge competitors, many other companies were able to imitate Dell's reliability and customer service.
Dell attempted a cost leadership strategy although it's PC's and laptops were comparable in price to competitors. Gateway was the cost leader in the
industry and once trailed only Dell as the leader of direct sales of computers to customers. Dell does offer computers that are customized to buyer
specifications so their computers are more custom than competitors. Very large customers who purchased over $1 million in PC's made up 70% of the
firms revenues. The firm would take a big revenue hit if it lost these customers.

Key Characters In King Schariar And His Brother
Through the presentation of the central characters and subtle yet clever methods of telling the story and conveying its themes are some of the key
reasons 'King Schariar and his Brother' is so engaging to all its readers, and perhaps why it has stood the greatest centuries–long test of time.
Firstly, the character of King Schariar, the namesake of the story: We are first introduces to him in the context of being his father's son, who was "one
of the best monarchs of his time". The state of the Sassanidae dynasty is said to be "prosperous", "powerful" and all the King's subjects peaceful and
content, supportive of their monarch. The future King Schariar and his brother, Schahzeman, are very close and affectionate to one another, so much so

This shows in his dialogue with the grand–vizir, wherein he utters almost nothing but threats of violence. The stark contrast between who the Sultan
once was with who he has become is so colossal and near unbelievable it implores us to carry on reading, especially as Scherazade enters the picture.
Our first grasp at who Scherazade is comes through the voice of her , the grand–vizir. She is beautiful, rich and highly educated, so naturally we would
expect her to behave as most other women of her stature would – snotty and spoilt. Only she is the furthest thing from. We see her spark of courage
and perseverance in the conversation she has with her father. Her words are polite, reverent, "imploring" him to grant her wish, as opposed to
begging or demanding. In this, we learn of her linguistic aptitude, her ability to bend the will of those whom she speaks to whatever she wants. She is
powerful in her words and her wit – powerful in the same way Schariar is with his corrupt violence.
The parallels and contrasting juxtaposition between Scherazade and King Schariar are intriguing, since they are such different people. Their skills in
manipulation equal each other in strength, yet their motives and platform for that power does not. As I have mentioned before, Scherazade achieves her
power through her words, Schariar through exploiting his royal standing as King. This comes out in the narration: We see very little of Schariar
verbally commanding or

I Think Ktm Dirt Bikes Are Better Than Yamaha Dirt Bike
I think KTM dirt bikes are better than Yamaha dirt bikes. KTM might not sell as many in the United States compared to Yamaha, but if you look at
an international race you will see that 90% of the athletes ride KTMs. The KTM is built in Austria, where the Yamahas are built in Japan. Both
companies build both track and trail bikes, and two strokes and four strokes. KTMs are famous for their crazy power from their two stroke line.
Yamaha is known for producing good, reliable four stroke bikes. KTM was founded back in 1934 by Hans Trunkenpolz but didn 't start large
production and sales of motorcycles until 1981. Yamaha was founded in 1955 by a group of people from Japan, they also produce ATVs, boats, and

The KTM also comes equipped with a self–adjusting hydraulic clutch that works amazing, the clutch is very smooth and powerful. Now compare it
to the Yamaha's old school cable clutch, which is relatively smooth, but can sometimes get hung up in the cable housing, or the cable gets
stretched out and needs to be replaced often. The KTM comes stock with billet hubs, these are amazing hubs that are super smooth rolling and
relatively low maintenance. The reason that I like the KTM better than the Yamaha is because I have both brand bikes. I ride the KTM the most
because I like the way it feels and the massive amount of power behind it. It is a fast, nimble bike great for both motocross and enduro. I have also
worked on both bikes and can say that the KTM is far easier to work on. The Yamaha is still a good bike, but the KTM is just better in my opinion.
The Yamaha is kind of an old bike now; they haven 't changed the frame or the engine since 2006 when they did a whole makeover to the bike. The
suspension has had some tuning in the recent years, they upgraded to SSS suspension and added some wider foot pegs. The biggest thing that they
upgraded for this year were the graphics that were looking kind of old. Some people will argue that the Yamaha is a bit more reliable than the KTM
is, and I will have to agree with that. Since the Yamaha is an older bike, they have some of the bugs worked out of it and the

Under The Feet Of Jesus By Helena Maria Viramontes
The Power of Ethnicity How do we define power in our society? Do you we look at those with money or those who acquire many things? According
to Michael Parenti the structure of whether or not someone is defined in the sense of powerful or powerlessness relies on their social class and
ethnicity. In the novella Under the Feet of Jesus by Helena Maria Viramontes, we see the development ofpower through the main character Estrella. It is
clear that although Estrella's background as a powerless migrant worker struggling to support her family financially she shifts into a powerful role as
an empowered young latina woman. The novella tells the story of a young migrant worker who is faced the the responsibility to help care for her
family not only financially but in a manner of leadership as well. Throughout the story the character of Estrella changes drastically from a timid
outcast to an outspoken leader. In the beginning Estrella is portrayed as a quiet young woman who is defined as an outsider. When looking at the
character of Estrella she is characterized in the category as powerless. One reason that we can attribute Estrella's state of power is her socio–economic
circumstances. Coming from a family of five, Estrella assumes the role as the oldest daughter as well as second mother due to her father's recent
abandonment on the family. It is because of this abandonment that Estrella resents her mother's older boyfriend Perfecto, who in return has gotten her
mother pregnant.

Essay about Insanity is Independence
Conformity, whether good or bad for society, is never beneficial for the individual. In the late 40's and 50's people conformed or they were excluded.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is a novel about non–conformists, the people who can't be the same, and more who didn't want to be identical. These
are the insane ones. The sane ones are the authoritative figures who mentally, physically, and sexually abuse the patients, but they are also the people
who decide what is right and healthy for the insane. Ken Kesey demonstrates that those in power become corrupted to argue that the fate of individuals

The ward aides, unfavorably known as the black boys, abuse their jobs by controlling and harming the patients for their benefit only. They sexually
exploit the patients under the pretense of "cautionary cleansing," with Nurse Ratched's approval (270). With that guise, though, the black boys exploit
the patients with phallic metaphorical "thermometers" (9). Because the residents of the ward are legally insane, any complaint directed to the Big

by commanding him to mop the floors by "motioning to the spot" and derisively belittling him for their pleasure with the nickname "Chief Broom," a

faced with the prospect of chaos, most lean towards anarchy. However, some are able to hold onto the civilization that exists within themselves.
Although Copus and Goulding stories revolve around different scenarios, they shared the key distinction of keeping their underlying themes similar to
one another. This is shown continuously throughout the two texts, when the characters are faced with making moral decisions, the way in which the
characters may or may not attempt to survive, and the power, as well as corruption, that eventually ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This makes Ralph the single remaining symbol of civilization within the text. Jack, who is the symbol of anarchy within the text, wants to be rid of
Ralph, and by extension, civilization. Therefore, in choosing to kill Ralph, he solidifies himself as the morally unacceptable character. It shows that
when faced with the possibility of chaos, the few purely good characters were able to remain loyal to civilization, while those who were not loyal to
civilization, turn to anarchy and chaos.
Survival is a highly prominent theme within the two texts. It is a primal human drive, and both texts drive home the question 'how far would you go to
survive?' However, the way that they do so is in complete difference to one another. In 'Day ofthe Triffids', one of the first scenes that the audience is
greeted with after the meteor shower, is the suicide of the doctor. This man has lost his survival instinct. He believes that now that he is blind, there
is nothing left in the world for him. This scene poses another question, do only the strong survive anarchy? In 'Lord of the Flies', we see consistently
that Jack and his tribe turn to blood thirst and savagery. Their actions result in the deaths of others. Jack does this mostly because he believes that it
is necessary for his survival, as well as the survival of others. He loses sight of the laws of

What Kind Of People Actually Needed Therapy?
As Delsin approached the office of his therapist, Dr. Lindquist, he contemplated what kind of people actually needed therapy. Usually people with
some sort of mental issues, right? Delsin had a broken family that had basically disowned him, sure, but did that necessitate therapy? He didn 't think
so, as he had been taken in by his best friend Eugene Sims ' family. The Sims had loads of money, given that Eugene 's dad was a doctor and his mother
a lawyer.
A traumatic event? It was possible. Delsin 's father had been abusive, and his mother all but non–existant. But he and his sister, Abigail, were fine. They

LAST NIGHT
Wisp stood on the rooftop of a building across the street from the port warehouse, where he had learned through his father that a weapon 's deal
between some street gang called the Vipers and a weapons dealer named Arsenal was going down. He fidgeted around, trying to get comfortable in his
clothes; he wore a trench coat, closed over a pair of jeans and a black t–shirt. On his feet were combat boots, and he wore a stolen pair of his father 's
work gloves, with a ski mask and tinted goggles to hide his identity. Tonight was his first night out as a hero, and what a night it would be.
"Can you seem them yet, Del?" came a male, puberty ridden voice over the bluetooth headset Wisp wore under his mask. It was the voice of Eugene
Sims, Wisp 's close friend and tech master. Eugene might as well of had super powers; the kid was a prodigy when it came to anything technological.
Using self–designed apps and medical equipment Eugene had stolen from his father, Eugene was monitoring Wisp 's levels of POWER and vital signs

cannot ever touch the book."
The girls looked at me as if I just gave them a new life. We took out an anathema and pricked our fingers and each put our bloody finger on the book
and as the Earth shook the girls became one and received all my knowledge and powers. Early the next morning the girl's mother, Melody, went in to
labor. As we got to the hospital my head started spinning my heart fluttered then there was black! As I slowly gained enough strength to open my
eyes, I glanced around the room looking for my family. I caught a glimpse of Mandy from the corner of my eye.
" Come here," I said with a soft weak voice.
" What do you need grandma," she said with fear in her eyes.
" Get me my diary child."
" Ok were is it."
" Its at home."
" Ok I'll fly there and back real fast just let me get Misty."
As Misty slowly walked in the room I saw another Misty walk past the door before it slammed.
" Are you a clone or the real one?"
" I'm the real one grandma the clone is with mom"
" Ok," I said, "will you fluff my pillow?"
" Sure it's no problem."
Being in the hospital was really insipid. I wish Mandy would hurry up and come back with my diary so I could wright a little before my time was up. I
always had my diary on me and now with out it I was board.

Lord of the Flies Literary Analysis Essay
Greed for Power In the novel Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, a group of English boys in their adolescence are stranded on an island. They
crash–land while being evacuated because of an atomic war, so the boys must learn to cooperate with each other in order to survive. The boys are
civil at first, but the bonds of civilization unfold as the rapacity for power and immediate desires become more important than civility and rescue. The
conflict between Ralph, the protagonist, and Jack, the antagonist, represents the conflict between the impulse to civilization and the impulse to
savagery, respectively. In Lord of the Flies, Golding uses Ralph and Jack's struggle for power to show that greed and lust for power can corrupt the best

The conch was used to call meetings and whosoever held it, had the power to speak. Jack starts to disobey the conch because he is turning more and
more savage–like. "[T]hey closed in on the struggling pig, knowledge that they had outwitted a living thing, imposed their will upon it, taken away
its life like a long satisfying drink," thought Jack. As the story progresses, Jack realizes he wants to kill pigs, not keep fires going for rescue. Jack
shouted, "We don't need the conch anymore." At this point in the novel, Golding is showing the reader that because Jack is lusting for power, he
is turning into a ferocious monster. By turning into a savage, he has lost all sense of civilization and democracy. By the end of the novel, Jack has
become a full blown barbarian. He is so caught up in killing pigs that he no longer listens to Ralph. He tries to become chief again and fails.
Because of that, he starts his own tribe on the other side of the island where all they do is hunt pigs. The boys that follow him are transformed into

Power Struggle In Literature
Power Struggles
"A measure of a man is what he does with power." These wise words were once said by the classical greek philosopher Plato, and can be applied to our
society and fictional societies to this day. In literature, it can be applied to the societies of "Lamb to the Slaughter" by Roald Dahl, "Ponies" by Kij
Johnson, and "Honor to Us All" from Disney's Mulan. Marxism (the theory that is used to look at conflicts and imbalances of power in literature
/societies) and Feminism (the study/advocacy of equality for men and women rights) can be used to implement this quote into fiction. An examination
of these three stories reveals that sexism causes power struggles in societies.

Each pony represents a girls spirit: their voice, their freedom (wings), and their ability to fight back (horns). When they go to a cutting out party, they
get these things taken away from them, leaving them powerless. This is important because there is a power imbalance and struggle between those
who get their power taken away from them and those who don 't. The author is showing what could happen if expectations are deeply ingrained into
a community making it hard to break away. In these societies, girls are objectified and have their power taken away, which creates a struggle between
the sexes. A power struggle can also be proved when characters try to defyauthority. When characters defy authority, there are often consequences. An
example of this is when Sunny shows defiance in "Ponies. "Sunny spins and runs.... but there are more of the others and they are bigger, and Sunny
doesn't have her wings to fly or her horn to fight. They pull her down before she can jump the fence into the woods beyond. Sunny cries, and there is
nothing, only the sound if pounding hooves from the tight circle." (Kij Johnson, p.3). Sunny is defying the authority, which are the girls and their
ponies, so the ponies kill her. This is significant because it shows that of anything threatens the ponies/girls control, they immediately put out the
rebellion. The Girls

Portrayal Of Female Empowerment And Gender Roles Essay
In politics, power is a crucial component, and having authority over others is critical in legitimizing that power. Women consistently lack agency and
power, especially in political spheres. Fantastical worlds, like HBO's television series Game of Thrones (GoT), portray women in roles of
empowerment, but their power is contingent on men and on their own sexuality. Despite gaining positions in political power, women only attain that
power or can only use that power in the realm of men and masculinity. This essay argues that women in Game of Thrones, as political and non–political
actors, are only powerful to the extent to which it roots from archetypical masculine characteristics and to which it advances their storylines from a
man's standpoint. To do so, I will first contrast political power and apolitical power, namely in terms of female participation and involvement. Next, I
will examine HBO's Game of Thrones in relation to its portrayal of female empowerment and of stereotypical gender roles. This paper will then
distinguish notable Game of Thrones female characters as political powerful and apolitically powerful actors. This paper will conclude with an
analysis of how Game of Thrones magnifies women's roles in political power while also generalizing women as powerful only in regards to their
sexuality.
Power is central to politics and political action. The Oxford Dictionaries (2016) characterize politics as "the principles relating to or inherent in a

Putin 's Power Of Power
It seems that Putin has been able to build up his power in a variety of ways throughout his political career. Even throughout power struggles, Putin
had been able to prevail. What does Putin have to attribute to his rise in power, was it luck or strategy? Well according to the rhetoric of
Gerschewski, there isn't simply one solid reason or force behind the stability of an autocratic regime. Gerschewski wrote, "Today's autocracies cannot
rely (at least in the long term) entirely on their abuse of power in a strictly hierarchal, pyramid–shaped political order as the unconstrained tyrants of the
past – from whom all of the power is derived – might have done" (Gerschewski, 2013, pg. 7). Moreover, Gerschewksi suggests that autocracies rely on
three pillars rather than one sole concept. The three pillars include, Legitimation, Repression, and Co–optation. Within the article he placed emphasis on
observing three processes that take place within and between the pillars in an effort to properly explain the stabilization processes (Gerschewski, 2013,
pg. 12).
The two pillars that seem to be the strongest in the case of Russia's regime, are repression and co–optation. The weakest pillar, hence would be
legitimation. This isn't to say that legitimation wasn't or isn't at play. As had been mentioned previously, the pillars within the stabilization process are
built over time, and include three processes necessary for observation.
Legitimation serves the function of gaining support

Interpretation
Threat of Entrants are High and unfavorable in the industry. This is a real threat in a place like Pakistan where the food industry views constantly
changing patterns in demand. Due to its consumer base, that is always on the look–out for new and changed places to eat. Every now and then, a new
cafГ© or a restaurant opens up, out of which only a few are able to successfully survive in the long run. On Zamzama alone, there are about 20 known
restaurants and cafГ©s. Therefore, Nandos must concentrate its efforts on Differentiation Strategy, as that is key to survival in the Pakistani food
industry (especially, in the major cities of Pakistan).

I. Statement of the Problem
How can Cherie Cosmetics improve the operations and marketing of the Elegante division?
How can the communications between the operations department and Elegante division be improved for better coordination?
II. Areas of Consideration
Cherie Cosmetics is a wholly–owned subsidiary of the International Cherie Company of New York. The company is directed by Ralph Nolk and has
four distinctive product lines each headed by a general manager. Heather King is the general manager of the Elegante Division in Toronto, Canada. Bob
Shaw is the Vice President of Operations. Dennis Green, the purchasing manager of operations, is Heather King's main contact.

Heather King doesn't have any resources that the operations department needs, thus she doesn't have any power to direct their actions.
Heather King is making demands to Dennis Green and Sandra Mirano, but she is not their superior and they are not in the same department. Dennis
Green and Sandra Mirano's manager is Bob Shaw. An employee should only have one manager. Dennis Green's behavior of verbally attacking
Heather King is inappropriate and unprofessional given that Heather King has a higher rank, but his behavior is understandable. He may have just
been acting out of frustration from having to deal with different managers. As the purchasing manager, he does have a need to feel in control of his
responsibilities. Heather King had reasons to bypass Dennis Green, but by doing so, she became a threat to his territory. When people feel threatened,
they can become hostile and angry.
III. Alternatives and Evaluation of Alternatives
Alternative 1:
Heather King can bring up the issue to Ralph Nolk. As the Managing Director superior to Bob Shaw, Ralph Nolk has the formal power to influence the
operations department to coordinate with Heather King. Ralph Nolk has the resources that the operations department needs, thus he has power over
their actions.

We Must Obey And Obey Authority
We as a society conform to the idea that it is always necessary to obey authority. This is such a normalized function of everyday life, that it has
resulted in us losing sight of our own moral convictions. Not every act of this expected obedience is conscious. We have fell into the habit of obeying
first and asking questions later. Even worse than that, we have developed a more destructive habit of not questioning authority at all. Our moral
judgements have became clouded by our understanding of authority as well as the desire and expectation to conform with others opinions and actions.
From a very young ages we are taught not to question authority. It is instilled in our heads as children that authority figures are always right and that ...

Another concept of how children are taught authority is proposed by Professor Marta Laupa. Her research of the development mental psychology has
lead her to believe that childrens ideas and understanding of obedience do not come from reward and punishment, but from early understanding of
social organization and status (Laupa 333). Social status and the concept of reward and punishment all greatly influence our first understandings of
what it means and why we obey authority. Both of these influences affect our ability to recognizing authority as an abusive power as children and
continues into later adulthood.
When taught not to question authority and to see others as superior to you because of age or position, this instills in our minds that authority figures
commit no wrongful acts. Our minds are programmed not to question authority as children, and when taught to see others as superior in power to you
because of age and position, we no longer think to question our own moral convictions, but insteads trust the moral judgements of our superior
figures. This results in authority more often than not taking advantage of their power and asking their followers to participate in acts that go against
their own moral beliefs. An extreme example of this is how terrorist organizations follow their leaders, yet we see their acts as wrong, because they
have such a high standard of respect, trust, or even fear in their leader they see nothing wrong in their actions. We grow up in a

Strengthening the Social Forces: Foucault’s Panopticon Essay
In Foucault's writing of Panopticon, he defines Panopticon as a mechanism of power used in regulating the society and the community which people
are living in . Foucault discusses how rules, policies and laws are applied towards the society and how existence of hierarchy in the society has
assigned individuals to play each of their own roles. Power is a natural constructed element embedded into the society. Moreover, Panopticon serves as
a homogenous mixture between the process of the power and power schema, in addition , anyone from the outside world has the accessible passage
towards this integrated disciplined model. The mechanisms or forces behind Panopticon is that "it aims to strengthen the social forces," such as raising

Throughout his work, his utterly emphasizes Panopticon as an apparatus which contains multiple purposes ranging from treating plague struck patients
to enforcing school children in abiding school laws. Therefore, it involves maximizing in the benefits of diverse social sectors. "It is polyvalent in its
application; it serves to reform prisoners, but also to treat patients, to instruct schoolchildren, to confine the insane, to supervise workers, to put beggars
and idlers to work" ( Foucault 220 ).
On the other hand, he has mentioned that a form of surveillance has always existed among the man kind and he has proved his statement by referring
to the plague which appeared during the seventeenth century. "The gaze is alert everywhere: "A considerable body of militia, commanded by good
officers and men of substance," guards the gates, at the town hall, and in every quarter to ensure the prompt obedience of the people and the most
absolute authority of the magistrates," (Foucault 210). I think this type of surveillance can be seen in nowadays such as security cameras hanging on
the wall of malls, schools, supermarkets and office buildings. In my opinion, this is created by mankind inability to trust another person's moral values
and ethical behaviors. This might sounds indecent and threatens peoples' characters but suspicious looks and awareness are indicated as something that
has been put into priority. Hence,

Analysis Of Pulp Fiction
One of the early scenes in "Pulp Fiction" features two hit–men discussing what a Big Mac is called in other countries. Their dialogue is witty and
entertaining, and it's also disarming, because it makes these two thugs seem all too normal. If you didn't know better, you might assume these were
regular guys having chit–chat on their way to work. Other than the comic payoff at the end of the scene, in which they use parts of this conversation to
taunt their victims, their talk has no relevance to anything in the film, or to anything else, for that matter. Yet without such scenes, "Pulp Fiction"
wouldn't be "Pulp Fiction." I get the sense that Tarantino put into the film whatever struck his fancy, and somehow the final product is not only
coherent but wonderfully textured.
It's no wonder that fans spend so much time debating what was in the suitcase, reading far more into the story than Tarantino probably intended. The
film is so intricately structured, with so many astonishing details, many of which you won't pick up on the first viewing, that it seems to cry out for
some deeper explanation. But there is no deeper explanation. "Pulp Fiction," is, as the title indicates, purely an exercise in technique and style, albeit
a brilliant and layered one. Containing numerous references to other films, it is like a great work of abstract art, or "art about art." It has all the
characteristics we associate with great movies: fine writing, first–rate acting, unforgettable characters, and one of the most well–constructed narratives
I've ever seen in a film. But to what end? The self–contained story does not seem to have bearing on anything but itself.
Tarantino's originality stems from his ability to focus on small details and follow them where they lead, even if they move the story away from
conventional plot developments. Perhaps no screenplay has ever found a better use for digressions. Indeed, the whole film seems to consist of
digressions. No character ever says anything in a simple, straightforward manner. Jules could have simply told Yolanda, "Be cool and no one's going to
get hurt," which is just the type of line you'd find in a generic, run–of–the–mill action flick. Instead, he goes off on a tangent about what

Abstract¬¬¬– This paper presents a low hardware overhead test pattern generator (TPG) for scan–based built–in self–test (BIST) that can reduce
switching activity in circuits under test (CUTs) during BIST. BIST is a device, here part of the functional device is self dedicated to self–testing the
correctness of the device. In general BIST is comprised of two TPGs: LT–RTPG (Low Transition–Random Test Pattern Generator) and 3–Weight
WRBIST(Weighted Random Built In Self Test) Minimization of hardware overhead is a major concern of BIST implementation. In test–per–scan
BIST, a new test pattern is applied to the inputs of the CUT every m + 1clock cycles, where m is the number of scan elements in the longest scan
chain. By using two proposed TPG increasing fault coverage is achieved through the reduction of switching activity, thereby dissipation ofpower is
minimized.

EXERCISE FOR GAINING POWER Essay
EXERCISE FOR GAINING POWER (Total time 15 minutes)
Rosabeth Kanter (1979) argues that much of what is labeled "poor management" in organizations is simply individuals protecting their diminished
power bases. Instead of criticizing these managers as incompetent, she proposes we bolster their feelings of personal power. If we solve the real problem
of perceived lack of power, the undesirable symptoms of poor leadership often evaporate. This point of view is consistent with the principles discussed
in this chapter.

Shawn Quinn came to the organization a year ago as a staff professional. He believed it might be a way for him to achieve considerable visibility with
the top brass, but instead he felt isolated and forgotten. As a staff officer, he had almost no decision–making authority except in his narrow area of
expertise. Most of what went on in the organization occurred without his involvement. Innovation and entrepreneurial activity were completely out of
his realm. While some of the line officers were given opportunities for professional development, no one seemed to care about his becoming more
experienced and capable. They saw him only as a specialist. Because his job didn't require that he work with others, he had little opportunity to cultivate
relationships that might lead to contacts with someone near the top. What hurt was that a consultant had been hired a few times to work on projects
that were part of his area. If consultants could be brought in to do his work, he thought, he must not be very important to the organization. Shawn found
himself being more and more turf conscious. He didn't want others encroaching on his area of expertise. He tried to demonstrate his competence to
others, but the more he did so,

William Shakespeare 's The Merchant Of Venice
The Merchant of Venice offers another unique perspective on crossdressing as it existed on the English Renaissance stage. Howard suggests that
Portia's crossdressing is "more disruptive than Viola's" (Howard, p. 433) because Portia herself was an unruly woman to begin with. Portia has
become the master of her own destiny with the passing of her father, for she is referred to as the Lord of Belmont now that no man exists to fill such a
role. What remains of the patriarchal authority, particularly the casket trial by which Portia's future husband must be chosen, is even subverted by
Portia's ability to guide her suitors to a proper or incorrect choice. Her seemingly innate guile and resourcefulness set the stage for her entry into the
male arena and the inversion created by her crossdressing (Newman, pp. 26–28). By becoming Balthazar, Portia steps outside of her role and function
as a subservient woman. Not only does she dress like a man, but also she embarks upon behavior ill suited to her supposedly weaker intellect, that of
practicing law. Amazingly enough, Portia is able to prove herself more than capable of such a task, and is ultimately able to save Antonio's life. She
utilizes her male guise not to cover her innate inadequacy in the male arena, but rather solely to gain the power to enter into it. As Howard puts it,
"Portia seems to be able to play the man's part with conviction" (Howard, p. 433). While the repercussions of Portia's inversion on the conception

you have completed your role you no longer have a say in what happens to the project at the next level, thus "no one is individually responsible". Bad
choices are made because of the "blind following of power". Managers from the United States may have the exact job in France however they have
fewer tasks because of the hierarchical structure. For that reason, managers have no authority to affect the final outcome of a project. The lack of
autonomy creates a lack of achievement and satisfaction which Americans value. From a business standpoint, if a country such as France, scores
high in power distance, there is a tendency to have more male controlled traditions. As a result, managerial positions are typically held by men, and
the women who do hold leadership positions experience negativity. Considering the United States scored a "40" in power distance indicates they are
less accepting of unequal distribution and inequality. As an American manager, working abroad in France I will face many challenges coming from a
society that is lower in power distance. In the United States I am accustom to briefing my subordinates about task in great detail. I am also prepared for
my authority to be challenged and to answer questions pertaining to any information that was briefed. In fact, I encourage questions to

Savagery In Lord Of The Flies
This begins to explain one of the main themes throughout the novel Lord of the Flies. For one to be uncivilized is to be barbaric and inhuman,
without having a sense of culture and social development. When innocence or civilization is lost, levels of economic, social, technological, political,
and cultural evolution differentiates from that of the normal, because ideas, values, institutions, and achievements of a particular society is changed.
The boys in Lord of the Flies find themselves in a situation where their only option was to learn to grow up and learn to do it fast on their own. They
have to learn how to survive and fend for themselves without the presence of any adult figures, and create a prosperous society for their own. They...

This shows that if they do not come back, all hope of being rescued is lost and they have begun to be taken over by their savage natures and are unable
to be rescued. Eventually as there is no one left to follow Ralph, the conch is lost of its power, because his attempt to keep them civilized and on his
side has failed. Since Jack seems he can exist outside of the control of the conch, because when he talks the boys listen, no matter the circumstance.
He has a more dictator ruling over on his side of the island. Jack shouted "Conch! Conch! We don't need the conch anymore. We know who ought to
say things. What good did Simon do speaking, or Bill, or Walter? It's time people some people knew they've got to keep quiet and leave deciding
things to the rest of us–" (110/111). Jack is assuring the rest of the boys that the conch is not a part of his side of the island and the only rule is to
listen to him because he outnumbers any of them. When Piggy is struck with the boulder, it is of no coincidence that the "fragile" conch is destroyed
as well. Without the conch there is no order and without Piggy there is no reasoning voice or adult–like figure left to connect the society and civilization
together. This is where all good intentions die and power is diminished and is up for grabs. This incident brings out their true, dominant, disorder and
savagery as the balance in

Kurt Voyer Defined The Psychology Of Teamwork
Benjamin Voyer defined the psychology of teamwork in the article. The study of teamwork was originated with the development of social
psychology and interest on how groups behave, predominantly as against another group. There were two groups that were discussed in the article
that contributed to the study of teamwork. The first group is "in group" as described as being a member of a group who share a particular interest or
activity and defines who you are. The second group was described as a group outside one 's own with which one feels no sense of identity. This second
group is termed as "out group". Hellen Keller's clichГ© enunciates that we can do so little if we are alone and we can do so much if we will work as a
team.
According to the writer, things can go wrong because power plays a big role in a team. In health care for example, quality and safety are the two big
priorities. However, flaws still arise. Typically, the complications arise because of the problems in the team, not with the people's ability. There was a
situation wherein a misunderstanding between the surgeon and the assistant was narrated in the article. There was a misunderstanding due to the fact
that the surgeon had just transferred from the other team. It simply tells us that teamwork was not applied in this situation. The author gave emphasis
on the importance of developing a team mind. The three C's were stated in the article pertaining to teamwork. One of which is collaboration that

Rivalry among competitors relates to the threat of other like businesses. The more competitors that have like products will determines the power of the

3D Printer Essay

  • 1. 3d Printer Essay 3D Printer With Dad The day finally came, I walked over to my front door and excitement filled my face as I saw a big brown box sitting on my porch. I screamed, "Dad Guess what!" "What," my Dad screamed, I screamed again, "The 3D printer came." As I open the front door, the alarm system screams, "Front Door," I run outside and grab the package and run back inside. At this moment I was literally going to scream just out of excitement because the printer finally came. I ran to the junk drawer trying to not slip in my socks, and I grab my pocket knife to open that box up. At that moment I could hear "Thud thud thud thud," I knew my dad was coming down the stairs. My dad appeared with his brown hair and Msu sweatshirt. The box also was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I ran downstairs to grab the glue when I got there my dad was already working on getting it glued I approached him and I asked, "How is it going." My dad says kind of spooked, "First wow man don't sneak up on me like that second it's going great the glue seems to be working out great" "Yes" I say estatically. At that moment I had a feeling that everything was going to work out just fine. "Done! you will be able to start building ,but don't put the LCD in because that is where the glue is drying and we don't want to mess that up right." "Right" I say in a reassuring voice. So I take up the metallic black frame trying to not let the glue drip down as I run up the stairs taking two at a time. Once I get up there I start constructing the y axis and placing the bed. • 2. Matsushita And Phillips Case Analysis Matsushita and Phillips Phillips and Matsushita are both electronics companies that started relatively around the same time, faced problems around the same time and went through failures and successes that they themselves created. Phillips Introduction Phillips started out in Holland and became very successful, very quickly, becoming the third largest light–bulb producer in Europe. Phillips continued to focus on light bulbs as others in the industry began to branch out. By 1919, however, Phillips entered into an agreement with General Electric and began to become a less centralized company and into a more decentralized sales organization. Organizational Development The National Organizations (NOs) during the war proved to be the most successful, due to their self–sufficiency and allowance to adapt to current, country–specific market conditions. "Eventually, responsiveness extended beyond adaptive marketing." They began to take from one market and implement into another. While Phillips in Canada created the company's first color TV, Phillips in the UK created the first TVs with teletext. While the formal corporate structure existed, NOs were the ones in charge. Reorganization Phillips had to abandon their attempts at VHS when the North American Phillips outsourced their VHS project to Matsushita. In 1971, with a new CEO became a new structure. • 3. The Reasons Of Non Compliance IV.The reasons of non–compliance Due to the fact, the board dismissed Steven Sewell from CEO because his characteristics are not suitable with the characteristics of new board. This reason is very subjective and unreasonable. This paper would not examine the unreasonable reason from the board of FDC as above, but will observe the fact that the removal of a director by the board is not the first time happened. There are some previous cases which are similar to the FDC case in which directors were dismissed by the board, such as in the case of Allied Mining & Processing Ltd v Boldbow Pty Ltd ("Allied v Boldbow"), Central Exchange Ltd v Rivkin Financial Services Ltd ("Central v Rivkin"), and Scottish & Colonial Ltd v Australian Power & Gas Co & Ltd ("Scottish v Australian Power"). In those three cases, the decision by the judges is considerably different. In Allied v Boldbow and Central v Rivkin, the judges state that Section 203D does not replace any other power of removal possessed by the company. Therefore, a company could regulate in their constitution to dismiss a director without the need for a vote of shareholders (in defined circumstances). Conversely, in Scottish v Australian Power, the judges emphasise that Section 203D is mandatory, and therefore, the process of removal a director must follow Section 203D. Due to those cases, it is clear that there are pro and contra about the dismissal of a director as stipulated in the Section 203D. One side argues that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We as a class had to analyze three units; which were units 1 (Creation), 2 (Epic Heroes), and 3 (Courtly Love). Each unit had its level of difficulties but my favorite unit was unit 3 Courtly Love. Courtly Love gave me different outlook of love when I read the different poems and help me understand things I did not understand. To finish the summer strong we are to analyze once more taking one story from each unit to analyze power. In my opinion you could use the word power in multiple ways. You could have the power of love, the power to rule over, or just to have power to be able to move your body. In the unit one, choosing the Book of Genesis as my story to analyze I believe God has all the power. God all the power to create everything that ever exists. To explains his power, "In the beginning of creation, when God made heaven and earth, the earth was without form and void, with darkness over the face of the abyss, and a mighty wind that swept over the surface of waters. God said, 'Let there be light,' and there was light; and God saw that light was good, and he separated light from darkness. He called the light day, and the darkness night. So evening came, and morning came, the first day. "(Volume 1, page 140) God had the power to create and give names for he was the main source of power. "There was an awful doom...the effect of my father's fatal love of science, which estranged me from all society of my kind". To solve this problem, Foodcorp should develop its human resource strategies. If we look at the progressive companies such as Apple Inc and Google, we will see that they provide their employees the competitive compensation and attractive benefit plans. I believe this is because they know that the most valuable asset is their people. I also agree with them because I recognize that every organization depends on their people. "When the fit between people and organizations is poor, one or both suffer: individuals may feel neglected or oppressed, and organizations sputter because individuals withdraw their efforts or even work against organizational purpose. Conversely, a good fit benefits both: individuals find meaningful and satisfying work, and organizations get the talent and energy they need to succeed"(Bolman, & Deal, p.137). The main point of the book is to help readers understand Gods kingdom in a world that is turned upside down. Kraybill shows how upside down and radical the kingdom was in the first century Palestine and how it is the same in today's society. In other words Kraybill illustrated the image that people who are at the top of the pyramids, the wealthy and the powerful, will be at the bottom of the pyramid in Gods kingdom if they are not humbled towards the poor and hungry. "An obsession with possessions enslaves us to the demon of worry. Jesus invites us to change our priorities, focus on the kingdom, and share with the needy" (Kraybill, 2011, p.101). A man'swealth will be measured by the love, kindness and empathy he has for the poor and the hungry in Gods kingdom. For this matter Jesus wants the wealthy to humble themselves and receive their blessing by offering opportunities to the poor instead of being greedy and celebrating their own wealth. Additionally, chapter six elaborates its main point by exploring the six dangers of wealth. The six dangers are as followed; beware of the strangler, beware of the worrier, beware of the blinder, beware of the boss, beware of the damner, and beware of the curse. The first danger, beware of the strangler, refers to the faith of people and the obstacles around them that could prevent the faith of God to flourish in their lives. Kraybill furthers this belief by associating the people with a seed, and the many obstacles that prevent its fruit from thriving. The second danger address in the book is to beware of the worrier. Kraybill expands on this by letting its readers know that Jesus does not want us to worry about tomorrow. This is due to the fact that tomorrow will be filled with its own worries and the worries of today are already a lot to handle. Moreover, the third danger is to beware of the blinder. The stark contrast between who the Sultan once was with who he has become is so colossal and near unbelievable it implores us to carry on reading, especially as Scherazade enters the picture. Our first grasp at who Scherazade is comes through the voice of her , the grand–vizir. She is beautiful, rich and highly educated, so naturally we would expect her to behave as most other women of her stature would – snotty and spoilt. Only she is the furthest thing from. We see her spark of courage and perseverance in the conversation she has with her father. Her words are polite, reverent, "imploring" him to grant her wish, as opposed to begging or demanding. In this, we learn of her linguistic aptitude, her ability to bend the will of those whom she speaks to whatever she wants. She is powerful in her words and her wit – powerful in the same way Schariar is with his corrupt violence. The parallels and contrasting juxtaposition between Scherazade and King Schariar are intriguing, since they are such different people. Their skills in manipulation equal each other in strength, yet their motives and platform for that power does not. As I have mentioned before, Scherazade achieves her power through her words, Schariar through exploiting his royal standing as King. This comes out in the narration: We see very little of Schariar verbally commanding or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The reason that I like the KTM better than the Yamaha is because I have both brand bikes. I ride the KTM the most because I like the way it feels and the massive amount of power behind it. According to Michael Parenti the structure of whether or not someone is defined in the sense of powerful or powerlessness relies on their social class and ethnicity. In the novella Under the Feet of Jesus by Helena Maria Viramontes, we see the development ofpower through the main character Estrella. It is clear that although Estrella's background as a powerless migrant worker struggling to support her family financially she shifts into a powerful role as an empowered young latina woman. The novella tells the story of a young migrant worker who is faced the the responsibility to help care for her family not only financially but in a manner of leadership as well. Throughout the story the character of Estrella changes drastically from a timid outcast to an outspoken leader. In the beginning Estrella is portrayed as a quiet young woman who is defined as an outsider. When looking at the character of Estrella she is characterized in the category as powerless. One reason that we can attribute Estrella's state of power is her socio–economic circumstances. Usually people with some sort of mental issues, right? Delsin had a broken family that had basically disowned him, sure, but did that necessitate therapy? He didn 't think so, as he had been taken in by his best friend Eugene Sims ' family. The Sims had loads of money, given that Eugene 's dad was a doctor and his mother a lawyer. A traumatic event? It was possible. Delsin 's father had been abusive, and his mother all but non–existant. But he and his sister, Abigail, were fine. • 23. Lord of the Flies Literary Analysis Essay Greed for Power In the novel Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, a group of English boys in their adolescence are stranded on an island. They crash–land while being evacuated because of an atomic war, so the boys must learn to cooperate with each other in order to survive. The boys are civil at first, but the bonds of civilization unfold as the rapacity for power and immediate desires become more important than civility and rescue. The conflict between Ralph, the protagonist, and Jack, the antagonist, represents the conflict between the impulse to civilization and the impulse to savagery, respectively. In Lord of the Flies, Golding uses Ralph and Jack's struggle for power to show that greed and lust for power can corrupt the best ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... "[T]hey closed in on the struggling pig, knowledge that they had outwitted a living thing, imposed their will upon it, taken away its life like a long satisfying drink," thought Jack. As the story progresses, Jack realizes he wants to kill pigs, not keep fires going for rescue. Jack shouted, "We don't need the conch anymore." At this point in the novel, Golding is showing the reader that because Jack is lusting for power, he is turning into a ferocious monster. By turning into a savage, he has lost all sense of civilization and democracy. By the end of the novel, Jack has become a full blown barbarian. He is so caught up in killing pigs that he no longer listens to Ralph. He tries to become chief again and fails. • 24. Power Struggle In Literature Power Struggles "A measure of a man is what he does with power." These wise words were once said by the classical greek philosopher Plato, and can be applied to our society and fictional societies to this day. In literature, it can be applied to the societies of "Lamb to the Slaughter" by Roald Dahl, "Ponies" by Kij Johnson, and "Honor to Us All" from Disney's Mulan. Marxism (the theory that is used to look at conflicts and imbalances of power in literature /societies) and Feminism (the study/advocacy of equality for men and women rights) can be used to implement this quote into fiction. An examination of these three stories reveals that sexism causes power struggles in societies. Each story shows a power struggle because of sexism ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Each pony represents a girls spirit: their voice, their freedom (wings), and their ability to fight back (horns). When they go to a cutting out party, they get these things taken away from them, leaving them powerless. This is important because there is a power imbalance and struggle between those who get their power taken away from them and those who don 't. The author is showing what could happen if expectations are deeply ingrained into a community making it hard to break away. In these societies, girls are objectified and have their power taken away, which creates a struggle between the sexes. A power struggle can also be proved when characters try to defyauthority. When characters defy authority, there are often consequences. An example of this is when Sunny shows defiance in "Ponies. "Sunny spins and runs.... but there are more of the others and they are bigger, and Sunny doesn't have her wings to fly or her horn to fight. They pull her down before she can jump the fence into the woods beyond. Sunny cries, and there is nothing, only the sound if pounding hooves from the tight circle." (Kij Johnson, p.3). Sunny is defying the authority, which are the girls and their ponies, so the ponies kill her. This is significant because it shows that of anything threatens the ponies/girls control, they immediately put out the rebellion. The Girls ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 25. Portrayal Of Female Empowerment And Gender Roles Essay In politics, power is a crucial component, and having authority over others is critical in legitimizing that power. Women consistently lack agency and power, especially in political spheres. Fantastical worlds, like HBO's television series Game of Thrones (GoT), portray women in roles of empowerment, but their power is contingent on men and on their own sexuality. Despite gaining positions in political power, women only attain that power or can only use that power in the realm of men and masculinity. This essay argues that women in Game of Thrones, as political and non–political actors, are only powerful to the extent to which it roots from archetypical masculine characteristics and to which it advances their storylines from a man's standpoint. To do so, I will first contrast political power and apolitical power, namely in terms of female participation and involvement. Next, I will examine HBO's Game of Thrones in relation to its portrayal of female empowerment and of stereotypical gender roles. This paper will then distinguish notable Game of Thrones female characters as political powerful and apolitically powerful actors. This paper will conclude with an analysis of how Game of Thrones magnifies women's roles in political power while also generalizing women as powerful only in regards to their sexuality. Power is central to politics and political action. The Oxford Dictionaries (2016) characterize politics as "the principles relating to or inherent in a sphere or activity, ... • 26. Putin 's Power Of Power It seems that Putin has been able to build up his power in a variety of ways throughout his political career. Even throughout power struggles, Putin had been able to prevail. What does Putin have to attribute to his rise in power, was it luck or strategy? Well according to the rhetoric of Gerschewski, there isn't simply one solid reason or force behind the stability of an autocratic regime. Gerschewski wrote, "Today's autocracies cannot rely (at least in the long term) entirely on their abuse of power in a strictly hierarchal, pyramid–shaped political order as the unconstrained tyrants of the past – from whom all of the power is derived – might have done" (Gerschewski, 2013, pg. 7). Moreover, Gerschewksi suggests that autocracies rely on three pillars rather than one sole concept. The three pillars include, Legitimation, Repression, and Co–optation. Within the article he placed emphasis on observing three processes that take place within and between the pillars in an effort to properly explain the stabilization processes (Gerschewski, 2013, pg. 12). The two pillars that seem to be the strongest in the case of Russia's regime, are repression and co–optation. The weakest pillar, hence would be legitimation. This isn't to say that legitimation wasn't or isn't at play. As had been mentioned previously, the pillars within the stabilization process are built over time, and include three processes necessary for observation. This is such a normalized function of everyday life, that it has resulted in us losing sight of our own moral convictions. Not every act of this expected obedience is conscious. We have fell into the habit of obeying first and asking questions later. Even worse than that, we have developed a more destructive habit of not questioning authority at all. Another concept of how children are taught authority is proposed by Professor Marta Laupa. Her research of the development mental psychology has lead her to believe that childrens ideas and understanding of obedience do not come from reward and punishment, but from early understanding of social organization and status (Laupa 333). Social status and the concept of reward and punishment all greatly influence our first understandings of what it means and why we obey authority. Both of these influences affect our ability to recognizing authority as an abusive power as children and continues into later adulthood. When taught not to question authority and to see others as superior to you because of age or position, this instills in our minds that authority figures commit no wrongful acts. Our minds are programmed not to question authority as children, and when taught to see others as superior in power to you because of age and position, we no longer think to question our own moral convictions, but insteads trust the moral judgements of our superior figures. This results in authority more often than not taking advantage of their power and asking their followers to participate in acts that go against their own moral beliefs. An extreme example of this is how terrorist organizations follow their leaders, yet we see their acts as wrong, because they have such a high standard of respect, trust, or even fear in their leader they see nothing wrong in their actions. • 34. Analysis Of Pulp Fiction One of the early scenes in "Pulp Fiction" features two hit–men discussing what a Big Mac is called in other countries. Their dialogue is witty and entertaining, and it's also disarming, because it makes these two thugs seem all too normal. If you didn't know better, you might assume these were regular guys having chit–chat on their way to work. Other than the comic payoff at the end of the scene, in which they use parts of this conversation to taunt their victims, their talk has no relevance to anything in the film, or to anything else, for that matter. Yet without such scenes, "Pulp Fiction" wouldn't be "Pulp Fiction." I get the sense that Tarantino put into the film whatever struck his fancy, and somehow the final product is not only coherent but wonderfully textured. It's no wonder that fans spend so much time debating what was in the suitcase, reading far more into the story than Tarantino probably intended. The film is so intricately structured, with so many astonishing details, many of which you won't pick up on the first viewing, that it seems to cry out for some deeper explanation. But there is no deeper explanation. "Pulp Fiction," is, as the title indicates, purely an exercise in technique and style, albeit a brilliant and layered one. Containing numerous references to other films, it is like a great work of abstract art, or "art about art." It has all the characteristics we associate with great movies: fine writing, first–rate acting, unforgettable characters, and one of the most well–constructed narratives I've ever seen in a film. But to what end? The self–contained story does not seem to have bearing on anything but itself. Tarantino's originality stems from his ability to focus on small details and follow them where they lead, even if they move the story away from conventional plot developments. Perhaps no screenplay has ever found a better use for digressions. Indeed, the whole film seems to consist of digressions. No character ever says anything in a simple, straightforward manner. Jules could have simply told Yolanda, "Be cool and no one's going to get hurt," which is just the type of line you'd find in a generic, run–of–the–mill action flick. • 37. William Shakespeare 's The Merchant Of Venice The Merchant of Venice offers another unique perspective on crossdressing as it existed on the English Renaissance stage. Howard suggests that Portia's crossdressing is "more disruptive than Viola's" (Howard, p. 433) because Portia herself was an unruly woman to begin with. Portia has become the master of her own destiny with the passing of her father, for she is referred to as the Lord of Belmont now that no man exists to fill such a role. What remains of the patriarchal authority, particularly the casket trial by which Portia's future husband must be chosen, is even subverted by Portia's ability to guide her suitors to a proper or incorrect choice. Her seemingly innate guile and resourcefulness set the stage for her entry into the male arena and the inversion created by her crossdressing (Newman, pp. 26–28). By becoming Balthazar, Portia steps outside of her role and function as a subservient woman. Not only does she dress like a man, but also she embarks upon behavior ill suited to her supposedly weaker intellect, that of practicing law. Amazingly enough, Portia is able to prove herself more than capable of such a task, and is ultimately able to save Antonio's life. She utilizes her male guise not to cover her innate inadequacy in the male arena, but rather solely to gain the power to enter into it. As Howard puts it, "Portia seems to be able to play the man's part with conviction" (Howard, p. 433). While the repercussions of Portia's inversion on the conception ...
