Death of Salesman by Arthur Miller
In the play Death of a Salesman by the playwright Arthur Miller, the use of names is significant
to the characters themselves. Many playwrights and authors use names in their works to make a
connection between the reader and the main idea of their work. Arthur Miller uses names in this
play extraordinarily. Not only does Miller use the names to get readers to correlate them with the
main idea of the play, but he also uses names to provide some irony to the play. Miller uses the
meanings of some of the names to tie in the characteristics of the characters. Willy, the protagonist
of Miller s play, has a brother, Ben. Ben is much older and long dead when this play begins. Ben,
or Benjamin, is a religious name that refers to the Sonof the... Show more content on

He has an apartment, a job, and all the women he could dream of, but he remains deeply saddened.
Happy hints his sadness early in the play
And I know what the hell I m workin for. Sometimes I sit in my apartment all alone. And I think of
the rent I m paying. And it s crazy. But then, it s what I always wanted. My own apartment, a car
and plenty of women. And still, goddammit, I m lonely. (23; Act 1)
All of this sadness builds up inside of Happy and he strives for attention. He is constantly trying
to achieve his dad s attention by saying, I m losing weight, you notice Pop (29; Act 1)? Happy
always tells his family he is going to get married also. He continues telling he is going to get
married to put a mask of happiness over his feelings of inadequacy.
The name Bernard corresponds with a nerd s name. Bernard, the son of a neighbor, Charley who

Bringing Dinosaurs Back to Life: Digital Art, Science, and Speculative Media in Jurassic Park s
Making of Documentary
Throughout the history of science, there has not been an animal creature that sparked the human s
fantasy as iconographically as the dinosaurs. Extinct from the face Earth about 65 million years
ago, dinosaurs have become a representation of the vulnerability of our species and the dramatic
forces of nature. To a certain extent, such realization has been possible due to Steven Spilberg s
science fiction film Jurassic Park (1993) and its impact on popular culture, including three Oscars
and over a billion dollars in revenue worldwide. Although in The Making of Jurassic Park the

reality that they could not see instantly during the acting since the CGI and robotics of the

on the production stage in Hawaii, Spielberg mentions his vision on having actors who could be as
naturalistic as possible, instead of casting movie icon starts. Considering the and technological
development of the 90s, the audience needed to believe in the components of reality proposed in
order to be taken in the journey the film proposes; otherwise, the interlocutor would never believe

Conflict Between Israel And Israel
Before getting all sophisticated and going into depth about this issue, I would like to break down
each subject that would be discussed. Conflict is defined as incompatibility or interference, as of
one idea, desire, event, or activity with another. Palestine (also called the Holy Land) is an ancient
country in South West Asia, on the East coast of the Mediterranean. Palestine is also a country
divided between Israel, Jordan, and Egypt. Lastly, Israel is a republic in South West Asia on the
Mediterranean, formed as a Jewish state in May of 1948. These two, the Israelis and
Palestinians, have been fighting for decades. The main reasons include international agreement,
borders, economic security, water resources, sovereignty of Jerusalem, Israeli settlements,
Palestinian freedom of movement due to barriers, and resolving Palestinian claims of a right of
return for their refugees. Of course, at one point in time there had to be peace. There wasn t
always fighting and clashing going on. This time of peace happened to be before a group of
Zionists from Europe decided to invade the land in attempt to make it home for the Jewish
people. Eventually, fighting broke out when the Arabs realized what was really going on and
how it would affect their people and community. As stated before, these two have been going at it
for many many years so of course there are wars to prove it. The first war fought between the
Palestinians and Arabs took place in 1947 1949, also referred to as

Cation and Amnion Lab Essay

week s lab is to learn to demonstrate a double replacement reaction of ionic compounds. To
accomplish this, two ionic compounds will be mixed together and the product will precipitate out
of solution. In this procedure, the product must be precipitated out of the solution and then
weighed. For this lab, lead (II) nitrate (Pb(NO3)2) and potassium chromate (K2CrO4) will be
reacted together to demonstrate double replacement reaction between 2 ionic compounds. This was
shown when chromate replaced the nitrate and formed lead (II) chromate, and when the nitrate

The Doctrine Of The Holy Spirit
Introduction
What exactly happened on that Pentecost day? The traditional view says that this is the coming of
the Holy Spirit to inaugurate the Church Age. The question that arises is what does this mean and
how did it affect the church. The day of Pentecost empowered the church to be able to achieve its
intended purpose.
History of the Pentecost
The Classical Pentecostal doctrine of the baptism in the Holy Spirit was first formulated at the turn
of the twentieth century. Nevertheless, Classical Pentecostals claim that their view of Spirit
baptism is based on Scripture, and that this doctrine was a normative part of the experience and
teaching of the New Testament church. They further claim that this doctrine should be a normative
part of the experience and teaching of the Church today. However, the biblical texts, which are cited
by Classical Pentecostals to support their view, have been interpreted differently by non
Pentecostals. The practical value of this study is to help Classical Pentecostals and non Pentecostals
identify the source of this doctrine, and to understand why they disagree on this important point.
The Arrival
Luke elucidated the description of Pentecost as fully come. Pentecost brought about a new
fellowship. The Kingdom of God henceforth is sanctified in the Spirit of Pentecost. The new thing
is not in the wind and fire, or the gift of tongues, but in the possession of the Spirit by each for the
good of all.

The World Trade Center And Nicknamed The Twin Towers
On the New York skyline once stood a set of towers known as the World Trade Center and
nicknamed the Twin Towers. After the attacks on a normal routine morning in New York City,
those towers were no longer there. After several years of planning and designing, a new tower now
stands and has been labeled One World Trade Center, also known as the Freedom Tower. In the
shadow of the recently completed tower are two reflecting pools that were once the foundation of
the fallen towers. During the design process and upon completion a public opinion arose with
some saying, building this tower means the terrorists won. Others say it s a symbolism for rebirth
and moving forward. After visiting New York, watching the building process of the new... Show

Upon arriving in the empire state for the first time, our taxi driver goes on to tell us several facts
about a tower that is now only missing the curtain wall for the top fifteen or so floors. He recalls
the tower that when completed will be 1776 feet tall, becoming the tallest building on the New
York City skyline. A public concern he expresses is the trouble with leasing the top thirty floors,
the cause being a fear that racked the brains of many New Yorkers back in 2001. Later in the week,
we made our way downtown to the 9/11 memorials. At the time to get into this memorial involved a
similar system to how one would go through security anywhere in the nation. Well waiting in line,
protesters lined the street arguing about a tower that is already 80% completed. Inside the
memorial, however, people had the upmost respect for those who lost their lives that day. Other
than the thousands of names that surrounded the foundations, another site to see was the single tree
that still stood after the attacks, even with the millions of pounds of rumble that fell that September
day.

this February visit the city was experiencing one of the many snowstorms that occur on the East

Essay on Mutual Mistake
Abstract Mutual Mistake of fact is when both parties of a contract make an assumption of fact
when contract is formed and signed. The mistake must significantly change what you have to do
under the contract, almost to the point where it s an entirely different agreement. Although, if you
knew there was a strong chance or probability of mistake at the time the contract was signed, you
may have assumed the risk of that mistake. You therefore cannot use the mutual mistake defense.
Not all cases of Mutual Mistake are strong enough to void a contract. Contract Law: Mistake of

(LaMance, 2011) It is absolutely agreeable that in these types of situations that a contract be
deemed void from a mutual mistake of fact. If, for example, someone was contacted to dig a
whole in someone s backyard but after the contract had been signed both parties had found out
that under a thin layer of dirt was solid rock, a mutual mistake of fact could make the contract
void since neither party knew of the rock under the surface. If a mutual mistake defense was not
possible then the person contracted to dig the whole would have to dig the whole under any
circumstance and run the risk of destroying their equipment and/or having to spend more money
for equipment capable of doing the job. In the case of John Harlty neither party acted
unethically. Though one could argue that the salesperson should of known that the manufacturer
was to stop production on cars with either a 3.2 liter and 3.9 liter V6 engine and begin
production on a new model with a 3.5 liter engine before trying to sell a discontinued car to a
customer. This would make it a unilateral mistake of fact because the salesperson had a reason to
know of the mistake and it was his fault that led to the mistake (Emanuel, 2011). But, on the other
hand, buying a new car is a pretty big deal and the potential customer should have done their own
research and found out that a certain model of car was to be changed in

New Testament Bible Dictionary Project:
Matthew
The Gospel of Matthew is a historical narrative that provides an introduction to the New Testament.
Matthew (also called Levi by the disciples in the Gospel of Mark and Luke) wrote the Gospel about
Jesus Christ the Savior during AD 60 65. Matthew was as well educated professional in the field
of collecting taxes in the area of Capernaum. It was there that he saw Jesus Christ and responded
to the calling to be with Jesus. He references 130 Hebrew Scriptures, emphasizing that Jesus is the
fulfillment of the messianic prophecies and types of the Old Testament (Hindson Towns, 2013).

Jewish belief is that the Messiah will come to the earth at the location of the Mount of Olives on
the Day of Judgment. The Jews use the area for cemeteries due to their religious beliefs that state
the importance of the location. There are over 150,000 graves sites that include the prophets
Malachi and Zechariah, who lived during 5th century BC. Mount of Olives is significant as it is
an area traveled well during the life of Jesus Christ in the New Testament. Several churches have

Belfast Of Canada
Smith s (2015) evaluation of the Toronto as the Belfast of Canada is important because it defines
the existence of a strong pro Ulster faction of Irish Protestant that received large scale support from
the British government to countermand the rise of Irish Catholicism in the city. In this manner, the
term, The Belfast of Canada , defines the undercurrent of hostility and social barriers that created
such political and social tensions for Irish Catholics in Toronto in the 1860s. This posthumous term
defined the existing struggles between Protestant and Catholic Irish tat would be historically

In this manner, Irish immigrants all understood the complexity of being in a foreign land, which
had different circumstances in relation to life in Canada. The comparison of Toronto to Belfast has
its limitations due to the far lesser scale of violence experienced between Irish Protestants and
Catholics, but it must also be acknowledged that many Irish immigrants coming over during the
Great Famine endured poverty and similar economic conditions.
The majority of the Protestant emigrants of the Famine era appear not to have been well off. Most
of them spent a few years visiting relatives and working in Carleton or Middlesex counties after
arriving from Ireland in the 1850s (Elliot, 2014, p.111).
In this deeper analysis of Irish population arriving during the Famine, it is apparent that protestant
and Catholic both suffered from poverty after coming to Toronto. Certainly, a majority of
immigrants were of Catholic descent, but there were certainly Protestant Irish being forced off their
land in Ireland during the Famine. These are important details that define why Toronto was not
nearly as hostile as Belfast, since the similar aspects of poverty, Irish nationalism, and Irish culture
were shared values in the overall disposition of Irish immigrants

Persuasive Essay On The 14th Amendment
The Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States is perhaps the most sweeping
and has likely impacted the general jurisprudence of the Supreme Court the most of any other
amendment. This is because, where all other right protecting amendments protect something
specific, the fourteenth amendment was designed to ensure that states guaranteed due process
rights, applied the law equally, and protected the privileges [and] immunities of citizens of the
United States. Because of this language, the Fourteenth Amendment appears to be and to some
extent is simply the application of the Fifth Amendment, and through selective incorporation, the
rest of the Bill of Rights. To that end, the Fourteenth Amendment possesses a fortuitous expansion
to the simple due process right: the right to equal protection of the laws. Laws that appear to violate
the Equal Protection Clause thusly receive the same kind of scrutiny that other fundamental rights
are given. The Fourteenth Amendment is relatively new compared to the Bill of Rights, having
been passed in 1868. The first major case that dealt with the amendment were the Slaughterhouse
Cases in 1872. In those cases, a group of slaughterhouses that were put out of business by a
Louisiana law creating a monopoly claimed that they were denied equal protection under the law.
Though the court ultimately denied their claim primarily on the basis that the Privileges and
Immunities Clause does not apply to the states, they also

Constitutional Basis For Public Health Action
Module 2: The Constitutional and Legal Basis for Public Health Action
Government and population are two characteristics that differentiate public health law from other
laws. In public health law, government is the actor, legislature, congress, city council, city
commissions, meaning that only government can take away or violate individual rights in certain
circumstances. Second characteristic of public health law, population or group of people who share
similar characteristics.
The essential services of public health are prevention and welfare of the public s health.
The important concept in the constitutional basis for public health action is protect the community
and rebalance that against the need of individual rights. States take responsibility and authority to
provide public health and public safety: inspection and regulation of commercial and residential

Tips On Choosing A Wordpress Theme
Tips on Choosing a WordPress Theme Choose Your Layout
When you sit down to construct your first WordPress website or blog you have a very big
decision to make immediately, and that s choosing a theme. This is probably the first thing you will
do after you install the software, and its major because your theme, or layout, is the first thing your
readers will see. Your theme represents you, and your goal is to make it as appealing as possible.
People will make an instant judgement as to the quality and value of your website as soon as
they land on your home page. Your header image should relay the message and purpose of your
website. Your navigation bar should be user intuitive, and the color scheme should be soft and
warm so you don t scare people off.
All of this is made easy if you have chosen the best possible theme for your product or service.
Lets learn a little about themes and then take a look at some tips on choosing your best possible
WordPress theme.
Look And Feel
Keep in mind that themes are simply the look , and to some degree, feel of your website. Your
theme is like the outside of your house; what people see first. It can have nice window dressing,
pretty colors, fancy decorative brick and an overall pleasant appeal. If people like what they see
they will enter, or (click) around and stay for a visit. This is what you want to keep your visitors in
the house. And, it all starts by having the right theme.
So start with an appealing theme and combine

They are sold by pimps for sex, and the sexual exploiters (or johns) are often given wide latitude
in how they treat the victims. Some pimps even allow johns to murder the women and girls for
an additional temporary sexual rush. The Lifetime movie, Human Trafficking , give many
disturbing but accurate examples as to how people are lured into forced labor. Throughout the
film, there are stories of five girls forced into prostitution. First is Helena from Czechoslovakia.
Helena is brought to Vienna by a handsome stranger who says he wants to marry her, and then
sells her to traffickers. Second is Nadia from the Ukraine. A modeling agency recruits her and
brings her to the U.S. where they turn against her and force her into prostitution. Third is Annie
from the U.S. While vacationing in the Philippines with her parents, Annie is lured away from
her parents and kidnapped. Finally is Jasmine from the Philippines. She is a member of a very
poor family and sold to a trafficker by her father. Although these examples are derived from a
film, they are excellent examples as to the many ways young women are coerced into forced labor.
Recruiting victims is effective when the potential victim s family members are involved (Bales

serious harm to the victim s loved ones. The traffickers know where the victim s family lives and

Descriptive Essay On A Golden Retriever
A golden retriever for a companion is an excellent choice because they are loyal and faithful friends.
In general, dogs are always happy to see you, even when you are upset or in a dark time. Even if the
owner is mad at them, they will try to make you forgive them by giving you lots of kisses and
curling up next to you. They will also keep close when you start walking, so you are always
protected by them. Since a golden retrieveris a field bred dog, they are very smart and can help you
go get things and drag items where you need them. Also it is easy to find a golden retrieverin a field
because their golden to reddish fur color stands out against the green grass or the bluish green of
pool/ocean water. Megan and her dog were just walking through a large grassland like field when
a small blue house came into view. It is quite a lonely little building with a white picket fence
surrounding the front yard and nothing is in sight around it but green grass and a long, narrow
beach about five miles away. The house looked very tiny, even standing at the gate in front. It
was about the size of a classroom with two doors and three windows. The backyard was
enormous though, with at least 100 yards in each direction from the house, and it had a pond
about 30 feet wide and 60 feet long in the corner that was frozen over, considering that it was a
moderately cold day. Since the cold was getting to Megan and Ginger a little, they decided to go

Benefits Of Genetically Modified Plants
Genetically Modified Plants
The term GMO Plants (genetically modified organisms) is most commonly used to refer to crop
plants created for human, or animal consumption using the latest molecular biology techniques.
These plants have been modified in the laboratory to enhance desired traits such as increased
resistance to herbicides and improved nutritional content. The enhancement of desired traits has
traditionally been undertaken through breeding, but conventional plant breeding methods can be
very time consuming and are often not very accurate. Genetic engineering can create plants with the
exact desired trait very rapidly and with great accuracy.
The world population is growing every year and is predicted to double in the next
50 years (WHO). Ensuring an adequate supply for this booming human population is going to
be a major challenge in the years to come. GM foods promise to meet this need in a number of
ways: Pharmaceuticals, medicines and vaccines often are costly to produce and sometimes require
special storage conditions not readily available in third world countries. Researchers are working
to develop edible vaccines in tomatoes and potatoes. These vaccines will be much easier to ship,
store and administer than traditional injectable vaccines. Nutrition, malnutrition is common in third
world countries where impoverished peoples rely on a single crop such as rice for the main staple
of their diet. However, rice does not contain adequate amounts of all necessary

Essay on The Death of the Fox in The Fox by D.H. Lawrence

March identifies him with the fox. March and Banford agree to allow him to stay for a short
while. March feels like Henry, or the fox, is there with her and she does not have to go after him
anymore. Again, she gave herself up to a warm, relaxed place, almost like sleep, accepting the
spell that was on her (591). March averts her face from Henry and shrinks from the light because
she wants to be possessed by him. At the same time, Henry has a spirit of a hunter. He wants to
bring down March as his quarry, to make her his wife (597) He thinks that it is a good idea to
marry March and then have her and the farm for his own. So then Henry expresses his feeling,
Well I wanted to ask you to marry me (598). Although she refuses, a great relaxation seemed to

A family attorney files the court papers for you. Your spouse is later informed that the case has
started through a legal notice commonly known as service. Both couples can also file for
divorce. In such a case, service is not required. When the service has been used, your spouse has
30 days to contest by filing a motion or providing an answer. A copy if the answer is then sent to
you. Your spouse can not contest the divorce, but he/she may contest things like debts, children,
support and property. If no one contests, your lawyer may ask for the court to complete the
divorce. The court will then ask you to provide an outline of how you plan to parent, divide
property, child support calculation and sharing of debts. Divorce cases may take a few days or
even months. In an uncontested divorce, the divorce may be final within 30 days. If the spouses

Canterbury Tales Literary Analysis
Throughout the semester in class, we read a lot of short stories, and poems. One of the stories
that stuck out to me the most to me, is The Canterbury Tales written by Geoffrey Chaucer. This
tale is based on the millers, which is the topic of my paper. When it comes to the millers, there is
a lot to know such as who they are, what they do, how the mills worked, their role in the Feudal
system, how they make a living, what they ate, where they lived, what kind of clothing they
wore, how the millers are able to assure they can continue to make enough money to live on, and so
much more. To start with, a miller is someone who worked in a mill, especially a grain mill (
Medieval Miller ). A miller would work on a lords estate and rented the mill from a lord for periods
of a year at a time. A miller lived above their mills or in cottages very close to their mills, so they
could wake up and go straight to work. Millers wore Roman style tunics made of wool and they
wore leather shoes. Sometimes the millers also wore a leather apron and cap, that was on rare
occasion. Millers had a special food diet, in which they ate similar to a serf, eating pottage, soup,
bread, ale and sometimes pork. miller s had better bread because they had better access to better
grains. Unfortunately, millers did not get paid that well as they only got one twelfth or one
sixteenth of grains that they grew and ground up. Some millers stole their pay before they got paid
so they received double the pay.

Comparing Virgin And Child On The Crescent Moon
Unlike other forms of art, such as paintings or drawings, sculptures provide audiences with a way
of looking at a piece of art in a three dimensional form; they have depth. A viewer can walk all
around a sculpture and notice every detail of it from every side (239). Sculptures can be vastly
varied, however, as there are four sculpting methods and because artists have different visions and
identities, and come from different backgrounds, all of which manifest themselves in an artist s
piece (241). Let s look at the ways in which Jeff Koons s Michael Jackson and Bubbles is different
and similar to Tilman Riemenschneider s Virgin and Child on the Crescent Moon. The differences
are obvious. First, both artists used different methods and materials

Fixed Drug Eruptions
A young male patient used the fixed dose combinations with of different fluoroquinolones and
nitroimidazoles several times in the last few years for self treating repeated episodes of diarrhoea
and loose motion, and each time experienced fixed drug eruptions that increased in number and
severity on subsequent occasions. Suspecting association between the drug and the rashes, the
patient each time discontinued the treatment prematurely, and preferred to switch to a similar
formulation but with different molecules of fluoroquinolone (ciprofloxacin or ofloxacin) and
nitroimidazole (tinidazole or ornidazole) next time. The patient presented with multiple, round to
oval, well defined, hyperpigmented cutaneous patches of different dimensions, present all over the
body. He appeared to have run out of options and therefore consulted us seeking advice how he
should treat himself next time he suffered from diarrhoea. Causality assessment by Naranjo s

1.How does fuel cost and efficiency affect both air carrier costs and pricing? The market index in
fuel prices is a challenge for carriers in terms of their costs and profits. Especially, in the air
carrier, the airline s uses high prices for the major quantity of volume in fuel. 2.The economic

likelihood of significant growth in the near future. Do you agree? Why or why not? The
beginning we need to understand who are the major interesting to build the pipeline and who
own it. The major oil companies are the owner of the pipelines. Consequently, they have a high
desired to build pipelines. Since that, it is logical that for the shipper owned oil pipelines is

The DSM-5 Lists Ten Personality Disorders
Personality Disorders
The DSM 5 lists ten personality disorders and puts them into three groups. There are many
misunderstandings about these psychological disorders. Here I will seek to clear up some of the
misinformation surrounding these psychological disorders.
The first group contains three disorders, Paranoid personality disorder, Schizoid personality
disorder, and schizotypal disorder. A Paranoid person is characterized by distrust of other people.
A Paranoid person is not only suspicious of others but will be easily discouraged in any interaction
with other people but will still feel a strong sense of personal right. Cluster A comprises paranoid,
schizoid, and schizotypal personality disorders. The classification is Schizoid personality disorder.
Schizoid means simply a natural tendency to direct ones attention inward and pay little attention to
the outside world. A schizoid person is likely to be an introvert and have little need for social
contacts. Since ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first is antisocial personality disorder. This person is much more likely to be male than
female and is likely to have a criminal record. Antisocial behavior is characterized by a disregard
for the feelings of others. This person moves from one short term relationship to the next.
Secondly is borderline personality disorder. This disorder is more common in women and is
often observed after childhood sexual abuse. People with this disorder may be emotionally
unstable, depressed, suicidal, and prone violent outbursts. The third disorder is the histrionic
personality disorder. Those suffering from this disorder seem to always be playing a role or
behaving in an overly dramatic way. This behavior stems from a lack of self worth and a need to
draw attention to themselves. Last in this group is narcissistic personality disorder in which a
person feels an exaggerated sense of self worth or entitlement. This person feels a need to be liked
and admired but

1.Who was Machiavelli? (Background info) Nicolo Machiavelli (1469 1527) was a Florentine
secretary of state and diplomat but it was best known as an historian and as the author of The
Prince. Machiavelli lived in a period were the ruler of Florence was Cesare Borgia this because
the Medici family was banded by the state. With the Borgia ruler Machiavelli sees and feels the
brutality of the state. Even if Machiavelli was a citizen of the up middle class he still felt the
effect and maybe he could have had a bigger possibility to travel, know and be instructed. He had
the right to think and elaborate, he was a man of culture. One of the most shocking thing he saw
and understand in his life was that good rulers doesn t exist and if they do they don t last much.
In fact his ideal ruler was Ferdinand D Aragon because when Luis the 12 accuse the Spain ruler of

The Schlieffen Plan Used By Germany During World War I
Maeve Eubanks
16 March 2017
The Schlieffen Plan was a war plan used by Germany during World War I. It was proposed in
1905 by Alfred von Schlieffen. He wanted Germany to wage a successful to front war. A two front
war is a war fought in multiple places at the same time or around the same time.
Alfred von Schlieffen was a history buff, and his plan was heavily inspired by the Battle of
Cannae. Schlieffen believed that, like the general of Carthaginian in the Battle of Cannae, he too
could defeat a larger army with what s called a double envelopment. He planned on the execution
of a massive flank, and it was the main focus of his plan. He also planned out that Germany s
advantage over France and Russia, their most likely opponents, was that they were separated. He
wanted to defeat one first while keeping the other in check so that he could come back with his
full army to defeat the other with a massive army. He had planned on it being a quick and easy
defeat. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
France was involved in a crisis in Morocco, and Russia had just been defeated by Japan.
However, the German Emperor, William II, feared that Great Britain s alliance with Japan would
cause an encirclement of Germany. Schlieffen was forced to rewrite his plan with an attack against
the neutral Dutch and a restructuring of the ratio of artillery and infantry. Although he made these
changes to his original plan, the change was not over yet. When war broke out in 1914, his plan
was altered and taken over by Helmuth von Moltke. Moltke made the size of the attacking army
smaller and was ultimately blamed for Germany s defeat in

Procedural Law Research Paper
A variation of laws exist today in the United States that allow the protection of people rights,
freedoms and wrongdoings. Constitutional law was ratified from the Constitution in 1788 and
adopted from the Bill of Rights in 1791. Constitutional law gave lawmakers the power to create or
define new crimes and also put limits on the federal government. The Constitution established the
framework on how the government works, but the Bill of Rights was established to give individuals
rights ad freedoms against the national government. The first ten amendments to the U.S.
Constitution outlined rights granted to American citizens such as, freedom of speech, press,
religion and freedom of assembly. In the terms of protecting citizens, the founders and the criminal

Substantive law can be defined as the part of the law that creates, defines, and regulates rights ,
(Marion Oliver 2012) p.7. This law is typically focused on the rights afforded to all citizens
under the Constitution, precisely the rights found in the Bill of Rights. Protections such as
unreasonable search and seizures, the right to a public and speedy trial, the right against
excessive bail, and cruel and unusual punishments. Procedural law refers to the branch of law
that prescribes in detail the methods or procedures used in determining and enforcing the rights

Procedural law focuses profoundly on the administrative practice in which citizen s rights are

The seasonal influenza vaccine has been in existence for a numerous amount of decades, therefore

knowledge of the importance of enforcing the requirement of this vaccine for children has acquired
increasing acceptance statistics. During the many outbreaks of different classified strands of avian

Seasonal Influenza is the monitored acquisition of the current avian influenza affecting a patient in
that particular season, it commonly presents itself as a common cold but then advances to show
more serious symptoms, in addition the seasonal influenza can mutate if not treated properly
creating yet another strand of the attenuated virus. A primary health care physician can only
diagnose seasonal influenza because some symptoms mimic those of the common cold, however
the seasonal influenza is often misdiagnosed one of the many reasons attempts of retention struggle.
However there is a solution in the prevention of these epidemics and they include the proper

Prompt #1 Horace Miner s Body Ritual Among the Nacirema was a very entertaining essay. The
essay made made fun of American culture without directly stating the name of the culture, other
than including the word American spelled backwards. Miner bring to the readers attention the odd
rituals practiced in America that the normal citizen would not find strange at all. However, by
presenting his essayin the this form he shows how strange American customs are from the view of
someone in a different country. Miner begins his essay by describing the American culture as if
it were a tribe. Although he does so secretly, Horace Miner does state that the tribe is located
between Canada and Mexico. He then states that they have an a developed market, yet they re
main concern is on the body. He then goes on to talk about the ritual areas in the homes on the
Nacirema people, bathrooms, where the people practice they re odd rituals. He does not use
direct terms for the medicine men, nor any of the other physicians that are seen in the daily lives
of American people. Miner continues this process while only leaving slight hints. Horace Miner
does a terrific job in this satire. Once view of this paper is noticed, the reader can be entertained by

Mozart s First Movement for Clarinet Concerto in A Major,...
Continuing a habit of challenging traditional structures in music and society, Mozart fosters unity
between the ensemble and the soloist in a form that is usually built on contrast in the first
movement of his Concerto for Clarinet in A Major, K 622.
This paper will begin with a brief discussion of sonata form, which will define many of the terms
used in the remainder of the paper. Next, a detailed explanation of first movement concerto form as
it was understood in Mozart s time. Following this, Mozart s habits of altering tradition will be
established, and there will be an analysis of the alterations he makes to first movement concerto
form in his Clarinet Concerto K 622, and how they foster unity.
The sonata is a unified formal structure broken up into several sections by theorists. The major
sections are the exposition, the development, and the recapitulation. While the modern terms for
these sections were only established in the early 20th century, the form s consistency means that
these terms can be applied to pieces before this time. The exposition contains the two major themes
of the piece, called the primary and secondary theme, as of about 1750. The primary theme is in the
tonic key, and the secondary theme is in another closely related key, which is reached through a
modulatory transition, sometimes called the bridge. The development section modulates through
several keys, but it only rarely introduces new material, and simply treats material already
established

Speciation And Evolution Of Cichlids
Speciation and Evolution of Cichlids in East Africa
Dr. Hoeh WIC
Matthew S. Holcomb
March 2, 2015 Introduction
The East African cichlids are a rather interesting and diverse group of fish, and have caught the
eye of many scientists particularly because of the speed, diversity, and convergent patterns of
their radiation (Yong Hwee et al. 2012). For instance, there are 500+ species in just one lake,
Lake Victoria, and an estimated 2,000+ species in total. The fish in lake Victoria, which is
estimated to be 100,000 400,000 years old or less and to have suffered a complete drought only
14,600 years ago, are an amazing example of just how quickly these fish have diversified (Rijssel

guide on how to attract guys you will be a couple steps closer to finding your dream guy.
There are certain ways you can portray your personality aimed at a guy; they are most likely to
notice a girl that loves who she is, who is confident, bold and is not afraid to joke around and
make him laugh. Smiling to show that you re having a good time, keeping eye contact with him
so that he knows he s got your undivided attention and do not forget to laugh at his jokes; this is
a big one, even if they are not funny. If you don t laugh it can lead to a really awkward situation
and so can putting on a ridiculous laugh, he might no longer think you are interested. Make sure
you keep the conversation going, ask questions, talk about yourself, school, family, hobbies, but try
not to get too personal. Make sure that you don t talk too much and overload him with information,
give him a chance to get a few words in and answer rather than leaving him sitting there listening to
you blabber on.

`` Moral Machines `` By Robert J. Sawyer And Gary Marcus
Myths are a good representation of how technology works in a society. This is due to their
valuable lessons which relate the impact of technological history on society over a period of time.
Two authors by the names of Robert J. Sawyer and Gary Marcus elaborate the connection between
science fiction and ethics to technology which compares to Prometheus s myth. Sawyer explains
the relationship in her essay The Purpose of Science Fictionin which he justifies that sciencefiction
can portray the outcomes of futuretechnology. Marcus justifies this connection in his essay Moral
Machines when he describes how automated machinery should include ethical moralities in
reference to how they are being used in real life scenarios. Sawyer and Marcus reveal the
relationship of science fiction and ethics to technology which relates to the themes of Prometheus
through science fiction and ethical motives. Prometheus was well known for giving the human
race the gift of fire. He delivered fire to the world by stealing it from Zeus due to a conflict
between the two. Prometheus was punished for his wrongdoing in which Zeus chained
Prometheus to a boulder so an eagle would come to eat his liver every day. Prometheus s actions
can represent a theme of progress in which he helps humans proceed around nature s boundaries.
Humans encounter obstacles in their lives to achieve a better life and live comfortably, but the fire
is the stepping stone to human success. Prometheus s gift to the world

Outer Ear: The Pinna gathers sound and sends it down the ear canal. The twists and folds of the
pinna enhance high frequency (pitched) sounds and also help us to determine the direction of
the sound source (AAC). Ear wax is developed by two thirds of the ear s external canal, the
remaining is bone. The Meatus or ear canal is a 2 3 cm of cartilage that strengthens the sound
coming in. Middle Ear: The Tympanic Membrane is hit by sound waves causing the eardrum to
vibrate as such then transferring that energy into mechanical energy. Out of the eardrum and onto
three bones, Malleus which is connected to the drum passing sounds on to the Incus that sits on
top of the hammer and collects vibrations. Ending with the Stapes which is responsible for
compression of the waves so they can travel through the inner ear. The Cochlea is home to many
nerve cells that are capable of damaging and are impossible to grow back. The Cochlea s
frequency selectivity refers to the ability of the auditory system to identify tonal components in
complex sound. It largely depends on the filtering ability of the cochlea and its tuning properties are

Multilayered Structured Sun
2. The sun being a multilayered structure has 3 main layers. There is the Chromosphere, the
Photosphere and the Corona. The photosphere is mainly the thinnest layer of gas where Earth
receives the sunlight from and convection occurs right under the photosphere. The motion of hot
materials rising while the cooler materials sink and this causes granulation. Granulation also known
as the mottled appearance is the dark regions and that is how the energy inside the sunis transferred
out.
7. When looking at the sun you would imagine that the surface would be boiling. But since the
surface of the sun is actually pretty cool it causes very few hydrogen atoms to have electrons in the
excited states. With the hydrogen atom providing a limited amount of excited electrons it would
cause us not to see it on the spectral line. But unlike the hydrogen being abundant, calcium isn t.
Calcium has enough electrons to transfer from the ground state and make an appearance on the
spectral lines because it isn t abundant.
9. We don t have evidence that sunspots are magnetic but we do know that the sunspots are caused
by the magnetic activity amongst the sun. Also with the understanding of the Zeeman effect we can
conclude how strong the magnetic fields are that cause the sunspots. In conclusion we see that
sunspots are in fact apart of the magnetic field in the layers of the suns atmosphere.
10. To fully understand the sun cycle many scientists use the Babcock model. The Babcock model

The American Film Industry
The American film industry is one of the most far reaching and influential businesses in today s
world. Movies constantly spawn franchises which have die hard fans lined up for hours just to get
a ticket for a movie that is months away. The celebrities in our movies are elevated to a position of
super fame. It is the nature to a human to adapt to conditions over a given period of time.
Adaptation continues through into our entertainment as well. Audiences are becoming accustomed
to seeing the same things on the screen over and over again. Filmmakers are constantly trying to
keep audiences entertained, which is becoming an increasingly difficult task. Today s general film
going audience quickly becomes bored and seeks more stimulation from the movies.
Computer generated images or CGI has been a chief method to keep modern audiences
entertained, while being cost effective to practical effects. With the recent use of CGI in movies,
anything has become possible. The use for practical effects is minimal to nearly non existent
since Jurassic Park and Terminator 2 first showed the wide spectrum of what was possible. It is
increasingly common for films to focus more on the visual effects, than the story of the film itself.
Some notable examples of this are the Transformers series of movies, and Star WarsEpisode I: The
Phantom Menace. In the Transformers series the films focus on the action scenes of CGI robots.
Human characters in this story often take a back seat to their film

Leisure And Leisure Activities
This study investigated if there was a connection between gender, leisure activity, and morality. The
researchers interviewed over a thousand men and women and gathered what leisure activities they
did. The leisure activities reported were categorized into one of the twelve categories. Some of
those categories are the following: reading books, cultural activities, fishing, restaurant visits, and
choir singing. Since the researchers were interested in how those activities affected mortality and
their connection with gender, certain measures of functional status (disease etc.) were factored so
it did not affect the rate of mortality. The results found that the more activities women participated
in, the lower their mortality. A correlation between women and lower mortality was also tied to
engagement in organizational activities and study circles (Agahi et al., 855). Men, however, had
lower mortality rates associated with doing hobby activities and gardening (Agahi et al., 1). Men
tended to benefit from solitary activities, but women did not (Agahi et al., 857). Women benefited
from social participation so every activity done lowered their mortality a little. Overall women
benefit from leisureactivities more than men, because men has a stronger correlation between
mortality and health indicators (Agahi et al.,866). We can use the information found to better plan
for programs. This study allows us to be aware of the type of programs the older adults could be

Cultural Differences In Islam, Judaism, And Christianity
All around the world, each year, believers of various religions come together to celebrate feasts,
commemorating a variety of topics and events. The religions of Islam, Judaism, and Christianity
are three global religions around the world with their own belief systems and ethical morals. But
despite having these different beliefs, all three religions have their fair share of similarities and
differences in their celebrations, ranging from their method of celebration to the purpose of each
feast. These similarities and contrasts are seen in the feast reflection periods of Rosh Ha Shanah,
Muharram, and Lent, found in Judaism, Islam, and Christianityrespectively, and is also seen in the
global celebrations of Chanukah, Eid al Fitr, and Christmas, also found in Judaism, Islam, and
Christianity respectively.
Despite their differences in religion and beliefs, all three religions share some sort of feast that
highlights the importance of forgiveness and reflection on the past. For Judaism, it comes in the

Truman Capote Essay
The short stories of Truman Capote are connected to his childhood experiences in Alabama.
Truman capote was an American born writer who wrote non fiction, short stories, novels and
plays. All of his literary works have been perceived as literary classics. The tones of some of his
stories are slightly gothic. His most famous short story is Children on Their Birthdays. His work
shows the occasional over writing, the twilit Gothic subject matter, and the masochistic uses of
horror traditional in the fiction of the boy author ever since the eighteen year old Lewis wrote his

Character Analysis Of Eleanor And Park
Eleanor, a character from the book Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell, is a very complicated
character. Her seemingly pessimistic and self conscious approach to life can seem strange or even
incomprehensible, but when her character development and past experiences are more closely
considered, these views are much easier to understand. Her views are affected by three major
factors: her family s financial status, her abusive home life, and her endurance of constant bullying.
While there are multiple other motivations behind her perceptions, these three factors all help push
her to the state of internalizing much of her personal life, keeping it away from individuals she
finds herself closest to, including her boyfriend Park. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The second big factor that affects Eleanor s views and perceptions is her abusive home life caused
by her stepfather, Richie. Consequently, this leads to her having a constant fearof seemingly small
things and an unusually prominent want to keep her home life and her school life separate,
therefore causing her to keep many of her struggles to herself. An example of this is found on
page 151 in which an excerpt from the book states, Where would she go this time? Back to the
Hickman s? Hey, remember the time my mom asked if I could stay with you guys for a few
days, and then she didn t come back for a year? This excerpt demonstrates how she has an innate
fear of her stepfather and of being kicked out; as a result, she often avoids anything she even
thinks might anger Richie. Another example of her fear and isolation from her own home life is
a quote from the character Park, her boyfriend, on page 105 which states, She wouldn t talk about
her family or her house. She wouldn t talk about anything that happened before she moved to the
neighborhood or anything that happened after she got off the bus. Eleanor is very much a
character that keeps her personal life close. She bottles up her problems and fears instead of
sharing them with other close people, including Park. The last big factor that affects Eleanor s
views and perceptions is the fact that she must deal with

The Ramayana Of Valmiki And Sita Sings The Blues
The Ramayana of Valmiki and Sita Sings the Blues
The epic story of Rama and Sita, as portrayed by Valmiki s Ramayana and the modern day film
Sita sings the Blues are two different versions of the same story which contain several contrasts as
well as similarities. The Ramayana is the ancient version which was written by a sage named
Valmiki in 550 B.C.E, featuring a love story between an ideal prince and an ideal woman. It
outlines the adventures of Rama in his journey to find his abducted wife Sita. Rama is portrayed as
an avatar, being the eighth incarnation of one of the Hindu gods Vishnu, while Sita is representing
Lakshmi, the Hindu goddess of light. The modern day version of the Ramayana is seen in Sita
Sings the Blues, where the animator Nina Paley is relating her love story to that of Sita s
predicament. This paper will compare and contrast the epic story of Valmiki s Ramayana and Sita
Sings the Blues in the quest for power, honor, faithfulness and the conflict between good and evil.
The author Valmiki in Ramayana discussed in detail human relationships, such as those between
husband and wife, parents and children, siblings, rulers, and the ruled as shown in the story. It is
often referred to as a holy text as well as a guide to social practices and attitudes. Nina, the
animator of the film, Sita Sings the Blues, was seen reading the Ramayana constantly because it
provided some sort of comfort to her. In the Ramayana, paragraph one, it says It is a heroic epic

Nonviolent Protests
We cannot turn on our televisions or get on social media without hearing about recent protests.
Some peaceful and some violent, but what difference do the two make? We all have seen riots
and we ve seen how they can end: a spray of rubber bullets, dogs digging their teeth into
screaming people s legs, and the trashing of public places. We ve seen the sit ins and marches
filled with people that have no fear in holding their signs high and proud. To some violence seems
like the only answer, but the results are not as rewarding nor as long lasting. Although some may
believe violence is the only answer they are turning a blind eye because nonviolent protests are
more successful, get more government support, and gather more civilians around the cause.
To begin with, the common misconception is that you can t be heard on your issue unless you re

used those protests to their advantage by saying violence would not be tolerated, and they can gain

The Establishment Of Black Greek Lettered Organizations
The establishment of Black Greek lettered organizations is an important cornerstone for the
solidarity of black people. As many others are concerned, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. was the
first Black fraternal group, but on the contrary there were several other attempts to begin like
organizations. Unfortunately, it was so that the due to the overwhelming stress of racism that
these organizations were not allowed to thrive. In particular, the chapter goes in to semi
significant depth about the infrastructure of the Masons secret society. Originally, the Masons
were legitimately a group of stonemasons during the fourteenth century. They would form lodges
located in different regions in which the members would seek membership. This idea runs
parallel to present day Black Greek lettered organization as there are chapters at different
universities where an upstanding gentleman would seek membership. Also, the behavior of
developing code language and grips to identify true members of the organization was also
adopted from Masonic tradition. Where the Masons enter the conversation of Black fraternal
orders is in 1787 when the first all black lodge was founded. Arguably, these lodges of Free
Masons is the true beginning of Black fraternities. Another noted organization that may be credited
as an earlier Black Greek lettered organization is Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. It is more
commonly noted that this organization was founded on January 5, 1911, however, it is revealed

Cyrano De Bergerac Conformity
You are too simple. Why, you might have said Oh a great many things! Mon dieu why waste Your

generic framework of famous poet and playwright, William Shakespeare. Edmond Rostand alters
the effect of a chorus, in addition to taking scenes away from acts. The main protagonist of the
play, Cyrano, is known as the invincible hero who always conforms to, but there is more than what
meets the eye, but in this case, the nose. Other supporting characters such as Christian, Roxanne,
and De Guiche, have different self esteem levels which leaves hints about conformity. Standards
created by society are pushing conformity by using the insecurity of others; while others are
conforming, individualism is shunned off. Conformity exists to satisfy the insecurity of others. For
instance, Cyrano creates a facade hide his insecurity. Me whom the plainest woman would despise

she shaped herself into individuality. In the beginning, she falls for Christian based on his looks

she unknowingly confessed to Cyrano. Indirectly, the consequence becomes Cyrano s death.
Cyrano exerts too much energy trying to confess after an injury and dies. With fiction aside,

film is based on the true story in 1971 of African American coach Herman Boone. Set in the time

In Remember the Titans we witness Coach Boone fighting for civil rights, signifying the image of
an outsider integrating into a foreign white team as their coach. Director Boaz Yakin, uses
techniques to strengthen Coach Boone s character where the initial hate and disrespect towards him
succours the development of a meaningful arc. The disrespect and aggression is employed when a
brick is thrown through his house window, threatening him with the derogatory coloured comments
calling him Coach Coon . The pressure of quitting was not felt and heroically he encompasses the
journey with Yakin emphasising Boones evocative discipline and determination forcing integration
amongst the segregated football team. This technique is employed when we witness Coach
Boone stepping up, pushing equality for the players in a determined strike to stop racial abuse for
good. His actions initiate the forced building of friendship and acceptance when he forces both
races to get to know and accept each other at the camp. Yakin heightens the themes of overcoming
racism when Boone rallies the troops together to support their team mate during a sad time.
Instinctively, the implicit segregation is evoked further bringing unity to the team, Coach Boone
emerges as a hero to both the coloured and white community. Similarly, The Help s Aibileen,
initially reluctant, puts her life at risk to tell her stories; as she does she builds up her courage,
feeling compelled to express

  • 2. Death of Salesman by Arthur Miller In the play Death of a Salesman by the playwright Arthur Miller, the use of names is significant to the characters themselves. Many playwrights and authors use names in their works to make a connection between the reader and the main idea of their work. Arthur Miller uses names in this play extraordinarily. Not only does Miller use the names to get readers to correlate them with the main idea of the play, but he also uses names to provide some irony to the play. Miller uses the meanings of some of the names to tie in the characteristics of the characters. Willy, the protagonist of Miller s play, has a brother, Ben. Ben is much older and long dead when this play begins. Ben, or Benjamin, is a religious name that refers to the Sonof the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... And still, goddammit, I m lonely. (23; Act 1) All of this sadness builds up inside of Happy and he strives for attention. He is constantly trying to achieve his dad s attention by saying, I m losing weight, you notice Pop (29; Act 1)? Happy always tells his family he is going to get married also. He continues telling he is going to get married to put a mask of happiness over his feelings of inadequacy. The name Bernard corresponds with a nerd s name. After Bernard tries helping Biff not fail math Willy says, Don t be a pest, Bernard! What an anemic! (33; Act 1). Bernard may have been a nerd, but now he is a very successful lawyer. Charlie boasts about Bernard s success to Willy How do you like this kid? Gonna argue a case in front of the Supreme Court (95; Act 2). Jurassic Park Themes Bringing Dinosaurs Back to Life: Digital Art, Science, and Speculative Media in Jurassic Park s Making of Documentary Throughout the history of science, there has not been an animal creature that sparked the human s fantasy as iconographically as the dinosaurs. Extinct from the face Earth about 65 million years ago, dinosaurs have become a representation of the vulnerability of our species and the dramatic forces of nature. To a certain extent, such realization has been possible due to Steven Spilberg s science fiction film Jurassic Park (1993) and its impact on popular culture, including three Oscars and over a billion dollars in revenue worldwide. For example, it would have been interesting to see the perspectives of actors in being part of a reality that they could not see instantly during the acting since the CGI and robotics of the dinosaurs would only be added during the post production stage. It is also worth mentioning that, on the production stage in Hawaii, Spielberg mentions his vision on having actors who could be as naturalistic as possible, instead of casting movie icon starts. Considering the and technological development of the 90s, the audience needed to believe in the components of reality proposed in order to be taken in the journey the film proposes; otherwise, the interlocutor would never believe in the fantasy that Jurassic Park aimed to ... • 4. Conflict Between Israel And Israel Before getting all sophisticated and going into depth about this issue, I would like to break down each subject that would be discussed. Conflict is defined as incompatibility or interference, as of one idea, desire, event, or activity with another. Palestine (also called the Holy Land) is an ancient country in South West Asia, on the East coast of the Mediterranean. Palestine is also a country divided between Israel, Jordan, and Egypt. Lastly, Israel is a republic in South West Asia on the Mediterranean, formed as a Jewish state in May of 1948. These two, the Israelis and Palestinians, have been fighting for decades. The main reasons include international agreement, borders, economic security, water resources, sovereignty of Jerusalem, Israeli settlements, Palestinian freedom of movement due to barriers, and resolving Palestinian claims of a right of return for their refugees. Of course, at one point in time there had to be peace. There wasn t always fighting and clashing going on. This time of peace happened to be before a group of Zionists from Europe decided to invade the land in attempt to make it home for the Jewish people. Eventually, fighting broke out when the Arabs realized what was really going on and how it would affect their people and community. As stated before, these two have been going at it for many many years so of course there are wars to prove it. The first war fought between the Palestinians and Arabs took place in 1947 1949, also referred to as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Cation and Amnion Lab Essay Name: Lisa Brewer iLab, Week # 2 CATIONS AND ANION LAB Introduction The purpose of this week s lab is to learn to demonstrate a double replacement reaction of ionic compounds. In this procedure, the product must be precipitated out of the solution and then weighed. For this lab, lead (II) nitrate (Pb(NO3)2) and potassium chromate (K2CrO4) will be reacted together to demonstrate double replacement reaction between 2 ionic compounds. • 6. The Doctrine Of The Holy Spirit Introduction What exactly happened on that Pentecost day? The traditional view says that this is the coming of the Holy Spirit to inaugurate the Church Age. The question that arises is what does this mean and how did it affect the church. The day of Pentecost empowered the church to be able to achieve its intended purpose. History of the Pentecost The Classical Pentecostal doctrine of the baptism in the Holy Spirit was first formulated at the turn of the twentieth century. Nevertheless, Classical Pentecostals claim that their view of Spirit baptism is based on Scripture, and that this doctrine was a normative part of the experience and teaching of the New Testament church. They further claim that this doctrine should be a normative part of the experience and teaching of the Church today. However, the biblical texts, which are cited by Classical Pentecostals to support their view, have been interpreted differently by non Pentecostals. The practical value of this study is to help Classical Pentecostals and non Pentecostals identify the source of this doctrine, and to understand why they disagree on this important point. The Arrival Luke elucidated the description of Pentecost as fully come. Pentecost brought about a new fellowship. The Kingdom of God henceforth is sanctified in the Spirit of Pentecost. The new thing is not in the wind and fire, or the gift of tongues, but in the possession of the Spirit by each for the good of all. Peter Kent outlines Peter s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

After the attacks on a normal routine morning in New York City, those towers were no longer there. After several years of planning and designing, a new tower now stands and has been labeled One World Trade Center, also known as the Freedom Tower. In the shadow of the recently completed tower are two reflecting pools that were once the foundation of the fallen towers. Upon arriving in the empire state for the first time, our taxi driver goes on to tell us several facts about a tower that is now only missing the curtain wall for the top fifteen or so floors. He recalls the tower that when completed will be 1776 feet tall, becoming the tallest building on the New York City skyline. A public concern he expresses is the trouble with leasing the top thirty floors, the cause being a fear that racked the brains of many New Yorkers back in 2001. Later in the week, we made our way downtown to the 9/11 memorials. At the time to get into this memorial involved a similar system to how one would go through security anywhere in the nation. Well waiting in line, protesters lined the street arguing about a tower that is already 80% completed. Inside the memorial, however, people had the upmost respect for those who lost their lives that day. Other than the thousands of names that surrounded the foundations, another site to see was the single tree that still stood after the attacks, even with the millions of pounds of rumble that fell that September day. • 8. Essay on Mutual Mistake Abstract Mutual Mistake of fact is when both parties of a contract make an assumption of fact when contract is formed and signed. The mistake must significantly change what you have to do under the contract, almost to the point where it s an entirely different agreement. Although, if you knew there was a strong chance or probability of mistake at the time the contract was signed, you may have assumed the risk of that mistake. You therefore cannot use the mutual mistake defense. Not all cases of Mutual Mistake are strong enough to void a contract. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (LaMance, 2011) It is absolutely agreeable that in these types of situations that a contract be deemed void from a mutual mistake of fact. If, for example, someone was contacted to dig a whole in someone s backyard but after the contract had been signed both parties had found out that under a thin layer of dirt was solid rock, a mutual mistake of fact could make the contract void since neither party knew of the rock under the surface. If a mutual mistake defense was not possible then the person contracted to dig the whole would have to dig the whole under any circumstance and run the risk of destroying their equipment and/or having to spend more money for equipment capable of doing the job. In the case of John Harlty neither party acted unethically. Though one could argue that the salesperson should of known that the manufacturer was to stop production on cars with either a 3.2 liter and 3.9 liter V6 engine and begin production on a new model with a 3.5 liter engine before trying to sell a discontinued car to a customer. This would make it a unilateral mistake of fact because the salesperson had a reason to know of the mistake and it was his fault that led to the mistake (Emanuel, 2011). But, on the other hand, buying a new car is a pretty big deal and the potential customer should have done their own research and found out that a certain model of car was to be changed in ... Although the media played a large role in the investigation and arrest of the B.T.K killer, they promoted his murders and gave him the sense of power and control he desired. Matthew was as well educated professional in the field of collecting taxes in the area of Capernaum. It was there that he saw Jesus Christ and responded to the calling to be with Jesus. Belfast Of Canada Smith s (2015) evaluation of the Toronto as the Belfast of Canada is important because it defines the existence of a strong pro Ulster faction of Irish Protestant that received large scale support from the British government to countermand the rise of Irish Catholicism in the city. In this manner, the term, The Belfast of Canada , defines the undercurrent of hostility and social barriers that created such political and social tensions for Irish Catholics in Toronto in the 1860s. The comparison of Toronto to Belfast has its limitations due to the far lesser scale of violence experienced between Irish Protestants and Catholics, but it must also be acknowledged that many Irish immigrants coming over during the Great Famine endured poverty and similar economic conditions. The majority of the Protestant emigrants of the Famine era appear not to have been well off. Most of them spent a few years visiting relatives and working in Carleton or Middlesex counties after arriving from Ireland in the 1850s (Elliot, 2014, p.111). In this deeper analysis of Irish population arriving during the Famine, it is apparent that protestant and Catholic both suffered from poverty after coming to Toronto. Certainly, a majority of immigrants were of Catholic descent, but there were certainly Protestant Irish being forced off their land in Ireland during the Famine. These are important details that define why Toronto was not nearly as hostile as Belfast, since the similar aspects of poverty, Irish nationalism, and Irish culture were shared values in the overall disposition of Irish immigrants ... • 14. Persuasive Essay On The 14th Amendment The Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States is perhaps the most sweeping and has likely impacted the general jurisprudence of the Supreme Court the most of any other amendment. This is because, where all other right protecting amendments protect something specific, the fourteenth amendment was designed to ensure that states guaranteed due process rights, applied the law equally, and protected the privileges [and] immunities of citizens of the United States. Because of this language, the Fourteenth Amendment appears to be and to some extent is simply the application of the Fifth Amendment, and through selective incorporation, the rest of the Bill of Rights. To that end, the Fourteenth Amendment possesses a fortuitous expansion to the simple due process right: the right to equal protection of the laws. Laws that appear to violate the Equal Protection Clause thusly receive the same kind of scrutiny that other fundamental rights are given. The Fourteenth Amendment is relatively new compared to the Bill of Rights, having been passed in 1868. The first major case that dealt with the amendment were the Slaughterhouse Cases in 1872. In those cases, a group of slaughterhouses that were put out of business by a Louisiana law creating a monopoly claimed that they were denied equal protection under the law. Though the court ultimately denied their claim primarily on the basis that the Privileges and Immunities Clause does not apply to the states, they also ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Throughout the film, there are stories of five girls forced into prostitution. First is Helena from Czechoslovakia. One of the stories that stuck out to me the most to me, is The Canterbury Tales written by Geoffrey Chaucer. This tale is based on the millers, which is the topic of my paper. When it comes to the millers, there is a lot to know such as who they are, what they do, how the mills worked, their role in the Feudal system, how they make a living, what they ate, where they lived, what kind of clothing they wore, how the millers are able to assure they can continue to make enough money to live on, and so much more. To start with, a miller is someone who worked in a mill, especially a grain mill ( Medieval Miller ). A miller would work on a lords estate and rented the mill from a lord for periods of a year at a time. A miller lived above their mills or in cottages very close to their mills, so they could wake up and go straight to work. Millers wore Roman style tunics made of wool and they wore leather shoes. Sometimes the millers also wore a leather apron and cap, that was on rare occasion. Millers had a special food diet, in which they ate similar to a serf, eating pottage, soup, bread, ale and sometimes pork. miller s had better bread because they had better access to better grains. Unfortunately, millers did not get paid that well as they only got one twelfth or one sixteenth of grains that they grew and ground up. • 35. Mozart s First Movement for Clarinet Concerto in A Major,... Continuing a habit of challenging traditional structures in music and society, Mozart fosters unity between the ensemble and the soloist in a form that is usually built on contrast in the first movement of his Concerto for Clarinet in A Major, K 622. This paper will begin with a brief discussion of sonata form, which will define many of the terms used in the remainder of the paper. Next, a detailed explanation of first movement concerto form as it was understood in Mozart s time. Following this, Mozart s habits of altering tradition will be established, and there will be an analysis of the alterations he makes to first movement concerto form in his Clarinet Concerto K 622, and how they foster unity. The sonata is a unified formal structure broken up into several sections by theorists. The major sections are the exposition, the development, and the recapitulation. While the modern terms for these sections were only established in the early 20th century, the form s consistency means that these terms can be applied to pieces before this time. The exposition contains the two major themes of the piece, called the primary and secondary theme, as of about 1750. The primary theme is in the tonic key, and the secondary theme is in another closely related key, which is reached through a modulatory transition, sometimes called the bridge. The development section modulates through several keys, but it only rarely introduces new material, and simply treats material already established ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Holcomb March 2, 2015 Introduction The East African cichlids are a rather interesting and diverse group of fish, and have caught the eye of many scientists particularly because of the speed, diversity, and convergent patterns of their radiation (Yong Hwee et al. 2012). For instance, there are 500+ species in just one lake, Lake Victoria, and an estimated 2,000+ species in total. The fish in lake Victoria, which is estimated to be 100,000 400,000 years old or less and to have suffered a complete drought only 14,600 years ago, are an amazing example of just how quickly these fish have diversified (Rijssel et al. 2014). Prometheus was well known for giving the human race the gift of fire. He delivered fire to the world by stealing it from Zeus due to a conflict between the two. Prometheus was punished for his wrongdoing in which Zeus chained Prometheus to a boulder so an eagle would come to eat his liver every day. Outer Ear: The Pinna gathers sound and sends it down the ear canal. The twists and folds of the pinna enhance high frequency (pitched) sounds and also help us to determine the direction of the sound source (AAC). • 42. Multilayered Structured Sun 2. The sun being a multilayered structure has 3 main layers. There is the Chromosphere, the Photosphere and the Corona. The photosphere is mainly the thinnest layer of gas where Earth receives the sunlight from and convection occurs right under the photosphere. The motion of hot materials rising while the cooler materials sink and this causes granulation. Granulation also known as the mottled appearance is the dark regions and that is how the energy inside the sunis transferred out. 7. When looking at the sun you would imagine that the surface would be boiling. But since the surface of the sun is actually pretty cool it causes very few hydrogen atoms to have electrons in the excited states. With the hydrogen atom providing a limited amount of excited electrons it would cause us not to see it on the spectral line. But unlike the hydrogen being abundant, calcium isn t. Calcium has enough electrons to transfer from the ground state and make an appearance on the spectral lines because it isn t abundant. 9. We don t have evidence that sunspots are magnetic but we do know that the sunspots are caused by the magnetic activity amongst the sun. Also with the understanding of the Zeeman effect we can conclude how strong the magnetic fields are that cause the sunspots. In conclusion we see that sunspots are in fact apart of the magnetic field in the layers of the suns atmosphere. 10. To fully understand the sun cycle many scientists use the Babcock model. The researchers interviewed over a thousand men and women and gathered what leisure activities they did. The leisure activities reported were categorized into one of the twelve categories. Some of those categories are the following: reading books, cultural activities, fishing, restaurant visits, and choir singing. Since the researchers were interested in how those activities affected mortality and their connection with gender, certain measures of functional status (disease etc.) were factored so it did not affect the rate of mortality. The results found that the more activities women participated in, the lower their mortality. A correlation between women and lower mortality was also tied to engagement in organizational activities and study circles (Agahi et al., 855). Men, however, had lower mortality rates associated with doing hobby activities and gardening (Agahi et al., 1). Men tended to benefit from solitary activities, but women did not (Agahi et al., 857). Her seemingly pessimistic and self conscious approach to life can seem strange or even incomprehensible, but when her character development and past experiences are more closely considered, these views are much easier to understand. Her views are affected by three major factors: her family s financial status, her abusive home life, and her endurance of constant bullying. Consequently, this leads to her having a constant fearof seemingly small things and an unusually prominent want to keep her home life and her school life separate, therefore causing her to keep many of her struggles to herself. An example of this is found on page 151 in which an excerpt from the book states, Where would she go this time? Back to the Hickman s? Hey, remember the time my mom asked if I could stay with you guys for a few days, and then she didn t come back for a year? This excerpt demonstrates how she has an innate fear of her stepfather and of being kicked out; as a result, she often avoids anything she even thinks might anger Richie. Another example of her fear and isolation from her own home life is a quote from the character Park, her boyfriend, on page 105 which states, She wouldn t talk about her family or her house. She wouldn t talk about anything that happened before she moved to the neighborhood or anything that happened after she got off the bus. (A1P30) Cyrano de Bergerac, written by Edmond Rostand, breaks away from the generic framework of famous poet and playwright, William Shakespeare. Edmond Rostand alters the effect of a chorus, in addition to taking scenes away from acts. The main protagonist of the play, Cyrano, is known as the invincible hero who always conforms to, but there is more than what meets the eye, but in this case, the nose. Other supporting characters such as Christian, Roxanne, and De Guiche, have different self esteem levels which leaves hints about conformity. Standards created by society are pushing conformity by using the insecurity of others; while others are conforming, individualism is shunned off. In Remember the Titans we witness Coach Boone fighting for civil rights, signifying the image of an outsider integrating into a foreign white team as their coach. Director Boaz Yakin, uses techniques to strengthen Coach Boone s character where the initial hate and disrespect towards him succours the development of a meaningful arc. The disrespect and aggression is employed when a brick is thrown through his house window, threatening him with the derogatory coloured comments calling him Coach Coon . The pressure of quitting was not felt and heroically he encompasses the journey with Yakin emphasising Boones evocative discipline and determination forcing integration amongst the segregated football team. This technique is employed when we witness Coach Boone stepping up, pushing equality for the players in a determined strike to stop racial abuse for good. His actions initiate the forced building of friendship and acceptance when he forces both races to get to know and accept each other at the camp. Yakin heightens the themes of overcoming racism when Boone rallies the troops together to support their team mate during a sad time. Instinctively, the implicit segregation is evoked further bringing unity to the team, Coach Boone emerges as a hero to both the coloured and white community. Similarly, The Help s Aibileen, initially reluctant, puts her life at risk to tell her stories; as she does she builds up her courage, feeling compelled to express ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
