4. THE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT AIMS TO:
• Attract the widest possible audience to the
Wallace Collection and to proactively seek to
develop new audiences, especially those
unaccustomed to visiting galleries
• Provide all visitor s to the museum with the tools
to develop a greater under standing and
enjoyment of the Collection based
• Of fer visitor s a variety of ways of engaging with
works of ar t thereby suppor ting dif ferent ways of
learning and levels of interest.

knowledge, creating an experience that our
visitor s find enjoyable and enriches their lives

5. THE ROLE OF THE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT
Interprets the collections for the public
Advisory role for all forms of interpretation including
labels, gallery information sheets, audioguide text
and exhibition panels
Creates and manages the delivery of informal and
formal learning programmes based upon the
collections for target audiences
Curates exhibitions

engage with works of art in the galleries
