1. What kind of media institution
might distribute your media
product and why?
2. • Bauer Media Group is a candidate that
would distribute my magazine. It is a
multinational media company
specialised in music magazines.
• The company is best known for it’s
magazines Kerrang! and Q.
• Kerrang! is famously known as a rock
music magazine which shares the same
genre as my music magazine.
• Q magazine is another music magazine
with high standards of photography and
printing with a great deal of focus on
style.
• Having the qualities of both these music
magazines for my own would be
perfect, and Bauer Media Group would
be the most obvious distributer for my
magazine.
3. • Time Inc. publishes 130
magazines and owns the
UK magazine house IPC
Media, which sells over
350 million copies each
year, who publish the
music magazine NME
among others.
• Due to its popularity and
wide distribution, I would
know they could sell my
magazine if they were to
distribute it (obviously
taking into account how
good my magazine is).
4. • Big Cheese Publishing Ltd
independently distributes it’s own
music magazine Big Cheese which
cover alternative rock, punk and
metal music.
• This would be a good distributer for
my magazine, but because it isn’t
owned by a big conglomerate and
Big Cheese itself isn’t very
popular, my own magazine might
have trouble selling under this
company.
• Nonetheless, it has the right genre
for my music magazine and the
target audience of Big Cheese
could possibly take a liking to my
magazine quite easily due to the
