Extended Construction Hours Continue
• Starting November 11, 2019, crews will work extended hours to accelerate construction (4:30 a.m. –
11:00 p.m.). Construction activities may include, guideway construction, road widening, retaining wall
construction, hydro utility installation and bridge rehabilitation.
• The period between 4:30 a.m. – 7:00 a.m. will be primarily used to perform less noisy work, such as site
and traffic staging, preparatory works, excavation, concrete pours, deliveries and hauling
What to Expect
• Daily temporary lane closures along Eglinton Ave E and cross streets between theWest Don River
Bridge andVictoria Park Ave will be in effect to facilitate construction and deliveries
• Short-term pedestrian rerouting as well as temporary sidewalk and crosswalk closures may be
required to safely facilitate construction
• Noise from construction activities and equipment, such as removal of asphalt, excavation, trucks and
generators can be expected
• Site lighting can be expected

Brentcliffe Portal to Leslie Street
December 19 through to Summer 2020
• The configuration will
accommodate:
• Guideway construction on
the West Don River Bridge
and portal.
• Retaining wall construction
on the north side of Eglinton
Avenue East.
• The pedestrian sidewalk will be
available on the south side of
Eglington Avenue East only.

Sunnybrook Park Stop (Leslie Street)
Ongoing Activities
• Concrete works are ongoing for the new pedestrian staircase on the south side of Eglinton at
Leslie began January 2020. Construction will continue through to spring 2020.
• Guideway construction will continue east and west of the intersection.
• Rebar installation for the track slab is ongoing from the West Don River Bridge to the Leslie
intersection.
• Formwork installation is taking place at the Sunnybrook Park stop.
• Guideway construction and trackwork is advancing between the Leslie St. intersection to
Celestica Bridge.

Science Centre Station Traffic Confuguration Decking Removal
February 7 2020 for approximately 2 months
• Science Centre Station has advanced to
a state to allow the temporary traffic deck
to be removed.
• The removal will take place in two
stages. The second stage on the
opposite side will take place early April.
• The road will be restored to an improved
surface.
• North south traffic will be reduced to two
lanes and aligned to the right side of Don
Mills Road.
• Northbound, southbound and eastbound
left turns will be restricted.
Bus Detours:
• Route 34C diverting to Ferrand and
Rochefort.

• Backfill of the roof slab is complete

• All escalators are installed at the Station Box

• Painting is complete in the elevator shaft

• All concrete are rebar works are complete at the bus terminal
• Installation of mechanical, plumbing and fire protection is ongoing at the
bus terminal
• Ceiling is in progress at the pedestrian tunnel and the architectural curb
is complete

• Waterproofing is ongoing
• Installation of lighting fixtures is ongoing at the west and east portals
• Installation of mechanical, plumbing and fire protection is ongoing at the
east portal

Traffic movements reflect the permanent intersection configuration. The westbound left
turn movement will be permanently prohibited. Guideway construction will continue east
and west of the intersection.

Sloane Stop Traffic Configuration
Mid December 2019 through to spring 2020
Guideway construction continues east and west of the Sloane/Bermondsey
intersection.
o Concrete barriers may be temporarily removed for construction vehicles
entering and exiting the guideway work zone.
o Temporary lane closures may be required.
