  2. 2. 3 Extended Construction Hours Continue • Starting November 11, 2019, crews will work extended hours to accelerate construction (4:30 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.). Construction activities may include, guideway construction, road widening, retaining wall construction, hydro utility installation and bridge rehabilitation. • The period between 4:30 a.m. – 7:00 a.m. will be primarily used to perform less noisy work, such as site and traffic staging, preparatory works, excavation, concrete pours, deliveries and hauling What to Expect • Daily temporary lane closures along Eglinton Ave E and cross streets between the West Don River Bridge and Victoria Park Ave will be in effect to facilitate construction and deliveries • Short-term pedestrian rerouting as well as temporary sidewalk and crosswalk closures may be required to safely facilitate construction • Noise from construction activities and equipment, such as removal of asphalt, excavation, trucks and generators can be expected • Site lighting can be expected
  3. 3. 4 Brentcliffe Portal to Leslie Street December 19 through to Mid-June 2020 • The traffic configuration will accommodate: • Guideway construction on the West Don River Bridge and portal. • Wet utility relocations, road widening, sidewalks and curb works on the south side of Eglinton Ave East between Brentcliffe Road and the east portal. • The pedestrian sidewalk will be available on the south side of Eglinton Avenue East only.
  4. 4. 5 Brentcliffe Portal to Leslie Street June 2020 for approximately one month • The traffic configuration will accommodate road works in the centre of Eglinton Avenue East between Brentcliffe Road and the east portal. • Construction activities include: • Excavation • Concrete and asphalt removal • Backfill • Compaction • Paving • The pedestrian sidewalk will be available on the south side of Eglington Avenue East only.
  5. 5. 6 Retaining Wall Construction North Side of Eglinton, East of Brentcliffe Road • This retaining wall is required to hold and stabilize the embankment created from the newly widened road. • Construction is expected to begin late May 2020 for a period of 4 months. • Construction activities will include: • Excavation: Excavators, dump trucks and loaders • Hydrovacing • Backfill and compaction: Loader and vibratory roller/compactor • Concrete works: concrete trucks and pumps • Installation of concrete blocks with mobile crane
  6. 6. 7 Sunnybrook Park Stop (Leslie Street) Ongoing Activities • Road widening continues on the south side of Eglinton between Brentcliffe Road and the east portal. • Construction of Multi Use Path is underway on the north side of the West Don River Bridge. • Guideway construction will continue east and west of the Leslie Street intersection. • Guideway construction and trackwork is advancing between the Leslie St. intersection to Celestica Bridge.   8. 8. 9 Science Centre Station Traffic Configuration Decking Removal Current through to late June 2020 • Science Centre Station has advanced to a state to allow the temporary traffic deck to be removed. • The removal will take place in two stages, with the second stage beginning early May 2020. • The road will be restored to an improved surface. • North south traffic will be reduced to two lanes and aligned to the west side of Don Mills Road. • Northbound, southbound and eastbound left turns will be restricted. Bus Detours: • Route 34C diverting to Ferrand and Rochefort.
  9. 9. 10 Science Centre Station Traffic Configuration Gervais Drive Current through to late 2020 • Traffic on Gervais Road at Eglinton Avenue East has been realigned to accommodate upcoming civil works at the east end of the bus terminal. • Southbound traffic at the foot of Gervais Drive will be rerouted east of original ramp. • The south sidewalk will be shifted to Ferrand Drive east of Gervais Drive and will reconnect with existing sidewalk on Eglinton Avenue East at the west Don Valley Parkway ramps.
  10. 10. 11 Science Centre Station Construction Activities Area Current Activities Station Box • Installation of Mechanical plumbing and HVAC duct is ongoing • First elevator installation is ongoing • Masonry works, drywall installation and rough ceiling and stud installations are in progress • Installation of electrical equipment continues • Backfill and decking removal continues • Precast platform edge installation is ongoing Main Entrance • Wall tiling and rough ceiling works are in progress • Louver installation is ongoing Pedestrian Tunnel/Bus Terminal • Wall tiling and civil works have started at the pedestrian tunnel • Steel decking is being installed at the bus terminal • Glazing continues at the bus terminal • Masonry and civil works are in progress at the bus terminal Portals • Waterproofing and backfilling is ongoing at the east portal • Installation of lighting fixtures is ongoing at the west and east portals

  17. 17. 18 Sloane Stop Traffic Configuration Mid December 2019 through to late spring 2020 • Guideway construction continues east and west of the Sloane/Bermondsey intersection. o Concrete barriers may be temporarily removed for construction vehicles entering and exiting the guideway work zone. o Temporary lane closures may be required. o Construction at the Wilson Brook Culvert continues on the north side of Eglinton Avenue East.
  18. 18. 19 Jonesville Crescent to Victoria Park Avenue Traffic Configuration April 27, 2020 for three (3) weeks • Closure of the eastbound curb lane on Eglinton Ave E between Cranborne Ave and Victoria Park Ave. • Sidewalk and curb restoration on the south side of Eglinton Avenue East between Cranborne Ave and Victoria Park Ave • Excavators, bobcats, dump trucks, compactors, hand tools and concrete pumps and trucks will be utilized.
