What Are We Building • 15 underground stations and 10 surface stops – 9 km below ground and 10 km above ground • A maintenance and storage facility • A 19-kilometre route separated from regular traffic • Transit communications system • Links to 54 bus routes, three subway stations, GO Transit, and a new UP Express station

How We’re Building: Surface Stops • Sequential road widening will be implemented to allow traffic flow to be maintained during construction. • The track where the trains will run is at the same level of the roadway on concrete pad foundations, approximately 100 meters long. • Example of a Cross Section (Pharmacy Stop) • U-turns are permitted at intersections due to unavailability of mid-block left turns
  4. 4. Unique Design Concepts: Surface Stops •Clean, rectilinear form. Intuitive and easy to use •Transparent, to ensure clear sightlines to the street and to maximize the sense of the security to the passenger •Provides protection from rain/snow and splash from the street Shelter Design
