2. Scavenger Hunt: This gave me an opportunity to find
out where everything was located on campus. Explained
great resources to use. The fitness center is free for all
students to use.
Service Learning Project: This helped me realize
how important volunteers are. I got to work with some
really cute puppies. It made me feel good to help the
puppies by giving them their first baths.
Blog Reflection: I learned that we may not know as
much as we actually think we know. I could shake my head
yes all day while you tell me a story, and never know what
you are talking about. We have to discover our explanatory
gaps in order to fully understand a problem.
3. Chapter 2 Journal Entry: This journal entry was
interesting because I got to argue with my inner self. It was
a great way of showing myself other meanings to my
thoughts. Changing me inner conversation lead me to
thinking differently about myself.
Chapter 4 Journal Entry: I found it interesting to
learn about the four quadrants. It gave me a chance to
realize what I spend most of my time doing. It allowed me to
prioritize my time.
Chapter 8 Journal Entry: I was able to explore my
ability in understanding my own emotions. I learned to
recognize my emotions as they occurred. Writing down my
emotions made me relive my experiences.
4. Module 7 “Stress”: This module showed a lot of interesting
facts about stress. I never knew that anything good could come
out of stress. I learned that stress could cause terrible illnesses.
Module 4 “How People Study”: I learned that people
who use deep processing learn material whether they intend to
or not. Shallow processing focuses on meaningless aspects of
information. The most important factor in successful learning is
what you think about while studying.
Module 5 “Cognitive Principles”: Students have to use
effective learning strategies. Shallow learning strategies focus
on superficial aspect like trying to memorize everything. Over
learning means that you continue to study beyond just
knowing information to where it can be recalled quick and
easy.
5. I will use deep thought processing because it
is the best way to study.
I will use journal writing to help process my
feelings.
I will stop procrastinating with my
assignments for next semester.
