1. Michael Edward Sorrels II
Bachelors of Science in Psychology
I am a strong, courageous,
intelligent and love spending
time with friends and family.
2. Scavenger Hunt
The scavenger hunt had you look up information that a student will need
on campus. This was very helpful because I now have one place where all
this information is compiled. It also helped me to know where to look if I
ever need to know.
The Metacognition Worksheet
The metacognition worksheet was interesting to me because there was a
lot of new information for me to learn. I enjoyed learning the process of
thinking from the Unreflective Thinker to the Advanced Thinker.
Bloom’s Taxonomy was also included on this worksheet.
My Next Move Career Assessment
I enjoyed the Career Assessment to see the results that the test would
yield. It is always reassuring when an assessment aligns with what you
are interested in. I am passionate about counseling and it was reassuring
to know that the career assessment matched.
3. Chapter 3 Journal Entry 11
This journal allowed me to look into my future. I was able
to dream about what I am going to do someday. By writing
this journal it helped me to make my goal worth achieving.
Chapter 5 Journal Entry 17
This journal allowed me to take a close look at
my support system. I took a close look at
obstacles that stand in my way. I also had to
look at all possible supports I have.
Chapter 6 Journal Entry 23
Although this journal was more difficult, I really enjoyed
the challenge. This process of answering questions really
brings an awareness like no other. A person must become
aware of the self defeating patterns we often have.
4. This is going to sound strange because my
favorite week is the only week that I failed to
get all of my assignments in.
Week 3 was my favorite because I enjoyed the
assignments and felt I really understood more
about who I am and where I am going.

7. Developing emotional intelligence. -31- -43-
8. Believing in myself. -66- -65-
The most important self discovery I have made about myself throughout
this class is that I can handle more stress than I thought I could. By doing
more management and planning I’ll be able to improve upon my overall
quality of life. Some things may be hard but with a rational head and little
bit of effort I know there is nothing that I can’t accomplish.
7. I discovered that my Holland Code was SIR. I was
predominantly Social (31) followed by Investigative
(26) then Realistic (18). I was surprised that the social
score was so much higher than the realistic score. I
tend to view myself as pretty realistic. Although I
have always been very social.
The career I was matched to was
Counseling/Psychologist or Psychology Professor.
I am most interested in Counseling/Psychologist as a
career. I believe this will be a very good fit for me.
