3. Calvary
It is on the hill from where is beautiful view of the town, castle,
villages, Štiavnica‘ s mountains as well as the nuclear power
plant . Calvary was renewed with a observing tower and seven
meters tall cross – that has become a popular attraction
4. Wine region
You can cool down in the underground cellars. Levice‘ s area
is well known for its delicious wine. There are around 250
ancient wine houses – called „hajloky“ in close area
5. The Jewish synagogue
Not far from the town centre there is a Jewish synagogue since 1883.
It was reconstructed and opened to the general public.
In the past, the Synagogue was part of a Jewish center, Today, it is
used for cultural and social events such as concerts, theaters,
exhibitions or lectures
6. Townsqare
Monument
● not far from our school is town square called Heroes square. Some
people call it „Stonehenge“ because there are a lot of stones and a
little greenery. However, there are really pretty fountains, a lot of
benches, some trees and the monument in honour of fallen heroes

8. The pedagogic institute
Stands directly above the historic town centre. It has
been school for teachers for more than 2 centuries
9. Levice‘sCastle
The main monument of the historical centre is the castle from
the second half of the 13 th century that is close to our
school. There are other important historical buildings in the
area of the castle: large manor house of Dobó and Museum of
Tekov. You can have a cup of tea in the café that is placed in
the castle‘s tea house
10. Šiklóš
This monument is on the hill,
You can take a pretty long hike there – it is about 8 km from
Levice. Šiklóš is known due to events that happend during WWII.
It is 15 m long memorial of the Red Army which freed Levice.
11. Margita Ilona
One of the interesting things in here is swimming pool
Margita Ilona with thermal water, and a camping site. It is very
popular relaxing place in summer. You can have so much fun
there
