Lesson suggestion
Subject: Biology
Area: human and nature
Thematic unit: Human and his body
Topic: Human body (organ systems)
Target group (class): 7th grade (12-13 years)
Time required: 1or 2 lessons (45-90min), in case of shorter lesson it is possible to divide
content into smaller units
Content standard: structure and function of organ systems...1
Performance standard: The pupils can compare common and different features of the
human and animal organism, name the organs of the human body, explain the importance
of processes and structures in the human body, clarify the interconnection of organ
systems.
Educational standard: (Bloom taxonomy)2: The pupil is able to explain the functioning and
importance of the processes of structures in the human body, to clarify the interconnection
of organ systems (synthesis and deduction).
Set out: textbook, workbook, applications / software Human Body, Office 365, Padlet,
computer, data projector, interactive whiteboard, tablets, pupils' own equipment.
Digital skills: Information (browsing, creating, sorting, evaluation), Communication (through
technologies, sharing information, cooperation via digital technologies, Digital content

Education forms and methods: E-U-R5, KWL6, Group work, Activating methods.
Lesson structure:
Evocation (10-15 minutes):
1. Pupils will become familiar with the objective of the lesson.
2. In the application Padlet/One Note (Office 365) using tablets/ own equipment pupils
state what they know about the selected organ.
3. Using the application, The Human Body – examination of individual systems, using of
the CLIL method (the application is in English) system (brainstorming) and what they
would like to know (What I know, What I want to know).

4. Pupils create knowledge mind map based on brainstorming (Notes from Padlet to
Mind Maps, or PPT, or directly in PADLET).
Awareness (30-60 minutes):
1. Based on the pupils' answers, the teacher determines the questions that need to be
solved (knowledge that needs to be supplemented to fulfill the goal) - to explain the
operation of systems, their interconnection.
2. Pupils use the Human body application or the Internet (Wikipedia) to look for
answers, they work in groups with tablets, 2 in 1 equipment, their own equipment.
The CLIL method (English language keyword search) is used.
3. The groups present information about the topic (general information) - they answer
the questions and findings obtained between the groups are gathered and shared
(One Note / Word / PPT).
4. The teacher summarizes the short presentation of the necessary knowledge (MS
PowerPoint / OpenOffice / LibreOffice / Google Office / Canva / Slides / Prezi ...),
emphasizes the interdisciplinary relationships.

Reflection (5-15 minutes):
1. Pupils add information they have learned using the application Padlet (What I have
learned).
2. The teacher shares online the results of the lesson (EDUPAGE, Office 365,
bezkriedy.sk) pupils' presentations, notes, Padlet, teaching material ...
3. With the help of the feedback card pupils say whether they have enjoyed the
lesson, what they would change, if they found it difficult to understand a concept
and what concept attracts them and they want to know/learn more about
