• Its origin relates to the tribes of the Doric Greeks.

• The most famous buildings from this period are the Parthenon, the temple of Zeus in
Olympia.

5. IONIC STYLE
• It can be documented already in the 6th century BC
• The Ionic column is thinner and taller than the Doric column.
• The most famous buildings of this period include the Erechtheion and the Temple of Nike
on the Acropolis.

• Appears around 400 BC. and is characterized by the slenderness, the height of the columns
and the decorativeness of the capitals.
• The most famous building of the Corinthian style is the Lysikrates monument in Athens

We visited Acropolis museum and we had a chance to see and learn a lot about Greek history.
• The Acropolis Museum is an archaeological museum focused on the findings of the
Acropolis archaeological site in Athens.
• The museum was built to contain every artifact found on the rock and on the surrounding
slopes, from the Greek Bronze Age to Roman and Byzantine Greece

GREEK ARCHITECTURE - ACROPOLIS
• a group of buildings built on top of a hill with the main building - the Parthenon.
• The temple was built next to a complex of other buildings on the Acropolis.

• It was built in 447-438 BC.
• On the Athenian Acropolis, its ruins can still be seen there.
