2. Here is a picture of the hall,
seen in the Harry Potter
movies. The table has sets of
dining cutlery and the room is
clearly lit to present its
artwork. On the walls there are
statues and hanging from
them are lit plates of fire. This
represents the theme of the
Harry Potter movies and gives
it a sense of magic.
3. This is Hogwarts itself. The
model in the picture is a
man made representation of
the castle and used in the
production of the film in
aerial shots. The structure is
extremely well detailed and
built to represent its values
of showing off the ‘school’
4. Here are a few of the many
thousands of costumers the
design team create to make
the actors wear. The type of
clothing is physically
identifiable with the theme
of the movie.
5. This is a ‘doorway’ in one
of the Harry Potter movies.
Warner Bros. Studios
showed us how they create
illusions on the production
set, and several techniques
they incoporate into the
filming to add to the
movie. This doorway is not
what it seems and is an
illusion, making it seem
bigger than it really is.
6. This is Hagrid's room. Here are
all the props shown in the
movies when filming is set in
his ‘hut’ – The mise-en-scene
is identifiable to present the
character Hagrid as quite
‘rough’ in the way he lives,
presenting his characteristics
in this way to.
7. Here is one of the dorm rooms
of Hogwarts. The area is quite
enclosed and its features are
typical of a dorm room. The
surroundings and props are
similar to the theme of the
movie and other areas of
scenery.
