HARRY POTTER WORLD
By Luke M
INTRO
Earlier this term the media department took us to Warner Brother Studios
– Harry Potter studios. We took various pictures of all the different sets.
In this PowerPoint I will be explaining each picture with a detailed analysis
on MISE-EN-SCENE
Furthermore I would just like to add that many of the pictures that I took
were from my iPhone – snap chat and not used with the media
departments cameras and tripods.
 This picture was taken as soon as I got to the
warner brothers studios. Outside the exhibit
there were massive chess pieces that were
around 15 ft. tall. These weren’t just any chess
pieces, they were the props used in the first
Harry Potter film called the philosopher's stone
which was released in November 4th 2001.
 As you can see these were the real props –
wands used in the actual Harry Potter Films.
Each wand and wand case was made by hand
and all very different. In the actual wand shop
there were over 6000 hand made wands
however they were all destroyed in one of the
last Harry Potter films when it was blown up by
the stunt department.
 As you enter the exhibit you are faced with this
as it is one of the first Movie sets you come face
to Face with. These “ soldiers made of stone -
Props are at the entrance of the “ Castle “ and
are seen in every single film and they have a roll
in the last film where they battle the opposing
army. This type of Purple shade lighting was
used so that it would draw the audience in and
be extremely eye catching.
 When you come out of the great hall you walk
down a hallway toward the other sets. Along this
hallway were various props such as this one. The
lighting is very well thoughtout since the sky
blue compliments the bright white very well.
 After you walk down the hall way you are
instantly comfronted by this huge prop that was
used in all the movies and was part of the
entrance to the “castle” This prop is very
effective as it is hard to miss and very effective
due to the fact that it is not normal and this
reflects Harry Potter very well as it to is not
based on normal everyday people.
 This is the entrance to The headmasters office in
the film. This prop was in many of the Harry
potter mvoies.
 This was the actual train station that was used in
the film. As you can see this was one of the
biggest sets in the enire production. This is one
of my favourite sets because it is platform 9 and
3 quarters and the is also home to the famous
steam train which transported all the Students to
Hogwarts.
 This is the picture of Hogwarts its self this is that
exact set which was used in every single movie.
THANK YOU FOR WATCHING.
