1. Most of the respondents to my questionnaire were
15-19 year olds, with a near enough even split
between female and male participants.
Because the questionnaire produced results from
both genders, I will be able to produce a music
video that satisfies men and women.
I will also be aiming my video at the target
audience of 15-19 but I will try to increase the
range to 24 as I did get responses from people in
this age range. Because of the issue that will
dominate my video, I feel that 15-24 will be able to
relate the most to it.
2. There is a clear distinction between the
popularity of plot, performance and
ambiguous with a narrative approach in a
music video being the most popular with the
participants.
There is only a small margin between
people’s preference of comedy or a serious
element in a music video.
As the serious element was slightly more
popular, I have decided to go with this
approach as I have already got a vague idea
of what I want to do.
3. Responses on preferred genre were varied
as pop, R&B and rock were close in
percentage wise. This has given me the
freedom to pick a song within these three
genres.
Creating a music video for 15- 24 year olds
will be beneficial as the results show that
the majority do spend around 1- 6 hours
per week watching videos. This means the
exposure of the music video to my target
audience will be high and the message
situated within it will be seen by them.
