Herzl Anti Semites
It is essential that the sufferings of Jews became worse. This will assist in the realization of our plans.
I have an excellent idea. I shall induce anti semites to liquidate Jewish wealth. The anti semites will
assist us thereby in that they will strengthen the persecution and oppression of Jews. The anti semites
shall be our best friends Theodor Herzl diary. Theodor Herzl impacted the Arab Israeli conflict by his
organization called Zionism. Herzl was born in Hungary in May 2,1860. He decided to move to
Vienna because of his sister s death. He studied law but soon he became a writer. In 1889 he married
Julie Naschauer ,but later on it was an unhappy marriage. He had three children. His life changed

Herzl talked about how Jews needed a nation or a land of their own which jews could express their
culture and practice their religion without interruption. Herzl wanted a solution for this conflict so he
thought the solution was to have a Jewish state. In 1897 there was a first Zionist Congress in Basel,
Switzerland where Herzl persuaded the delegates to accept his ideas. The main reason was for The
World Zionist Organization. People from other countries attended the congress. Herzl was elected
President of the organization. There are many perspectives about Theodor Herzl and The Zionist
Organization. Some Israeli are against Zionism because they believe that it doesn t go with their
beliefs and the traditional Judaism. It s being demanded by political sovereignty. Before the Zionist
Organization Jews and Arabs had a friendship and lived in peace. They did not want war and violence.
Arabs rejected Zionism because they knew it was going to negatively affect their life. The arabs
negativity wasn t the Zionism based of economic and social issues but because of colored by the

Media Portrayal Of Violence In The Media
The risk of developing aggressive behavior is high among children who were raised in a negative
environment such as social and economic factors play a huge role. The primary place a children is in
is at home. Poverty has a significant impact on a child s social behavior these children that are raised
in poor environments have a higher risk of behavior problems. Impoverished communities have a
wide range of people living there not all the people in that neighborhood may have the same parenting
styles or teach their child to behave. Children in impoverished neighborhoods can often play with
other kids outdoors and since other children may not be raised to behave well they will bring that
behavior in their homes and begin to use it. Potential behavior that can arise from other children who
do not behave can lead to not respecting others, anger, and violence.
The media has been linked to aggressive behavior in children. The outcome of media portrayal of
violence can have lasting effects such as children can be begin to feel less sensitive to the pain and
suffering of others. Sometimes watching violence can even be enjoyable because of how the media
plays it out to be. It may be funny or no consequences or punishment to violent act committed.
Violence seems to be everywhere, on television, news, video games and especially movies this creates
a distorted view of what reality truly is. Children that watch violence on television will at some point
imitate those aggressive acts

Analysis Of The Book The First P.f
History Even though the first P.F. Chang s opened in 1993, the story really began way back in the
1960s. It started with a lady named Cecilia Chiang running a flourishing and wildly successful
Chinese restaurant named The Mandarin. In 1974, she opened a second location in posh Beverly Hills,
feeding celebrities the likes of John Lennon and Yoko Ono. The celebration we see in the media of
celebrity chefs today really started with Cecelia Chang. She was indeed a pioneer. That very same
year, Cecilia returned to China for an extended trip. Her son, Philip, fresh out of art school, struggled
finding work as an artist. He quickly stepped in to run the restaurant. At that time a restaurateur called
Paul Fleming, based in Arizona, was running a successful restaurant concept, spending time at his
regular Chinese place in Los Angeles called Mandarette. Fleming broke with the traditional Chinese
restaurant format, and with his collaborator, Chef Philip Chiang, devised a selectively limited menu
that featured far fewer dishes than the menus of typical, full service, Chinese restaurants.
Incorporating an American steak house dining style and a formidable selection of wines and cheeses,
P.F. Chang s offers such items not offered in traditional Chinese restaurants such as espresso and
cappuccino. Despite displaying highly stylish décor in the tradition of Ming and Tang Dynasties with
many hand painted murals, P.F. Chang China Bistros are very moderately priced, a concept

Analysis Of Izmir National University Case Analysis
Izmir National University Case Analysis.
1. What do the comments by the faculty tell you about INU s strategy?
Tactical administration in the business world operations is an important aspect. These makes us
understand the benefits attached at its aims. Izmir
National University is not exempted and certain procedures should be followed to achieve these goals.
The institution is in a shortfall based on the circumstance that the proportion of the teachers to the
student is enormous. meaning that the numeral of students served by one teacher is too much, and
thus, there is a shortage teachers. No amount of teacher can tutor so many students and grasp the
welfares from it. The distribution of funds in the university is extremely low. ... Show more content on

2. What would you recommend the Dekan do regarding the Business School s strategic planning
process? What role would you recommend the Dekan play in this process?
The school can get over the difficulties it faces if certain guidelines and measures are followed. The
important solutions include; Communication and consultation. No institution can strive and be
productive without consultation. All business requires a platform whereby communication amongst
the people is involved. Regarding this university, parties involved includes the students, tutors and
other stockholders of the institution. If working platforms to enhance better communication is put in
place, low risks of tussles in the school will be reduced. Also since the Dekan is concerned about the
number of meetings held in the school every year, few meetings which will benefit the university and
as well save cost should be financed as to discourage mismanagement and wasting of university s
funds which can be diverted to help settle other issues of the university. However, If the capital
assigned to the meetings are sufficient to hold up to four or less meetings in a year, communication
amongst the officials should be effective on which of the meetings should be given high priorities or
not. The distribution of funds should be vividly deliberated, and the funding will be properly utilized.
Research in the university is not to be compromised. Also, the research

Improvements As A Writer And Thinker
Improvements as a Writer and Thinker Reflecting as a writer and thinker I have noticed tremendous
improvements in my work. My whole thought process and way of viewing topics has changed, giving
me a better understanding when I write. In the beginning of the term I ran into many problems in
College Writing I for instance, I was not too familiar with writing in MLA format and struggled
reaching the page count. I found myself to procrastinate when papers were assigned making my
anxiety levels increase. Despite my struggles as a writer and thinker, I learned how to overcome these
obstacles. I learned to be open minded and looking at topics from another perspective. In the
beginning of the term I was assigned an essay that described me as a writer and thinker. With this
essay being my first assignment, I was quite stressed with the feeling of failure. After this assignment I
learned the importance of the drafting system. After my paper was graded I received it back and
noticed multiple mistakes. This was the first step I practiced improving. Writing multiple drafts helped
me analysis the material I wrote from another point of view. For example, I was able to eliminate
sections that were unrelated from the main point. Building my vocabulary up another step I had focus
as a writer and thinker. I used a combination between the dictionary and thesaurus to help me increase
my vocabulary. Overtime with experience, I saw improvements in all of these categories that I was

Music and Copyright Essay
Music has a powerful influence on society, like mass media and television. In our society today, music
has the ability to define our culture. Many people around the world listen to music while driving, at
work, doing housework, or even studying. Music may be seen as simple and unproblematic, but
looking at the structure behind it is very important. One of the key features of music is music
copyright and what that means to the music industry. Defining what this means in the historical
context is of great significance. Music and copyright is a vital aspect of the music industry. The
question that remains, however, is what happens with motivation or intension when samples of music
are not originally controlled in a larger network. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She mentions that if a copyright law is charged with protecting a particular arrangement of notes, then
maybe copyright laws should protect the riffs, melodies, harmonies, etc., or all of them. It is of great
importance to understand the meaning behind what this means by looking at copyright laws and what
it means to the music industry. One characteristic of intellectual property rights is copyright. This
means that it can be bought or sold like any other form of property (McCann 1998). McCann states
that the creator of an artistic piece of work is the first owner of a copyright. The owner has the
exclusive rights to do or to authorize anyone else to do certain things with the whole or any extensive
part of the work. The author and or the creator is at the centre of the copyright paradigm as a separate
and discrete body or entity. This is because the concept of the writer or composer is a special
participant in the production process which is worthy of attention. Authorship is important within the
context of copyright because as McCann points out: The authorship concept, although highly visible
in contemporary copyright law, usually appears as a focus of consensus rather than debate. Authorship
, as deployed in texts and in cultural understandings, has been anything but a stable, inert foundation
for the structure of copyright doctrine. Rather, the ideologically charged

Abstract
The United States Postal Service is one of the nations most thriving companies. It has over 600,000+
employees and is the second largest civilian employer in the United States. (DeHaven, 2010). While it
is one of the countries most thriving businesses it is not void of faults. To prevent the employees from
being mistreated, most post office branches create unions. The unions not only protect those who take
advantage of the membership but the other employees of the United States Postal Service (USPS) as
well. This paper maps out the many benefits to being in the American ... Show more content on

At the point that the certain branch of the USPS s union is certified the employer, the federal
government, would then be legally required to negotiate with the union, in good faith, a legally
binding contract covering all of the aspects of employment. (Office Professional Employees
International Union, 2011)
Like anything, with time comes changes and at some point employees might feel as if the contract
they have should be amended and at that point the negotiation process starts. The APWU would, at
this point, begin the negotiation process. To start the union would create a Contract Action Committee
(CAC) filled with active members. The CAC would then gather key information about things the
members want to amend and plan a contract campaign. This campaign should be created with the
intent to apply pressure to the employer. Once the campaign has started a bargaining team should be
formed and trained. This team will work close with the CAC and negotiate the contract with the
employer. The team will gather information from the union members and begin to lay negotiation
round rules to schedule out the location and time of negations. They will also arrange leave for the
union negotiators. After the guidelines have been set the next step in the negotiation process is to form
a strategy. In this process, the bargaining team should describe the planned proposal, explain how it
works, describe the problem that is

Water Pollution
Water Pollution Pollution is harmful to the world that we have come to love and know. Pollution s
harmful effects on the natural world, our environment is tragic. Pollution is a hazard to a human s
health, and causes a vulnerable stage to the Earth s ecosystem. There are several types of pollution
such as; noise, water, air, thermal, and many more. Water pollution, in particular, is the contamination
from harsh chemicals, from various outlets, that spread into the bodies of water that will affect
humans, land animals, aquatic animals, living plants, and many more.
First, there is point source pollution, pollution that comes from a single location. An example of a
point source pollution would be rainfall. Rainfall picks up and carries human made pollutants, such as
harmful gases, oils, and smoke, which are then deposited into a body of water such as lakes, rivers,
and groundwaters. Factories and sewage plants are two of the common types of point source pollution.
Another main water pollution type is nonpoint source pollution, pollution that comes from multiple
locations and sources. An example of nonpoint source pollutions would be, pesticide run offs, urban
runoffs, bacteria or nutrients from livestock and crops, harmful chemicals from factories, and many
more. As technology improves, scientists are able to detect more pollutants, and at smaller
concentrations, in Earth s freshwater bodies. Containing traces of contaminants ranging from birth
control pills and sunscreen

Essay on Bacteria are the Causative Agents of Malignancy...
Association between bacterial and viral infections and certain cancers have been since a long time.
Many bacteria have seen to cause a variety of cancers. Bacteria are the causative agents of malignancy
in a human. Different strains of bacteria have been isolated from patients of cancer. The bacteria cause
cancer by infection like in Helicobacter pylori, which contributes to both gastric cancer and mucosa
associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma through chronic inflammation. Bacteria because of its
highly replicative nature can easily transmit cancer. The reason behind the presence of bacteria within
tumours could be due to infection via the vasculature and the ability of the bacteria to survive and
grow in the hypoxic region of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the case of other viruses and H. pylori, active oxygen and nitrogenic species generated by
inflammatory cells may cause DNA damage, induce apoptosis, and modulate enzyme activities and
gene expression.
Whereas, In cervical cancer, HPV play a role in encoded genes in tumor cell growth. In addition to the
stimulation of proliferation of cell the inactivation of tumor suppressor genes, such as p53 may be a
pathway leading to malignancy in HPV and hepatitis B virus.
H. pylori has been seen to cause apoptosis of damaged epithelial cells. H pylori infection causes
inflammation of gastric epithelium cells by increasing interleukin 8 (IL 8) expression and secretion. H
pylori infection also increases pepsinogen secretion and may result in damage of epithelium integrity.
H. pylori has shown to produce oxidative strees in gastric mucosa. cDNA expression array is a new
technology which offers screening of the differential expression of many genes in pathogenic cells.
This technology is based on the principle of reverse northern hybridization.
Lgr5, Villin promoter, TFF2 mRNA and Mist have been identified as gastric stem/progenitor cell
markers. This identification leads to an improved understanding on the gastric stem cell pathobiology
during chronic inflammation and metaplasia. In addition, advance in gastric cancer stem cell markers
such as CD44, CD90, CD133, Musashi 1 reveal novel information on tumor cell behavior and disease
progression implicated for

The Severity Of Skin Cancer
Skin cancer is the only form of cancer that is rapidly increasing each year in the United States,
supported by the fact that every 20 seconds someone is diagnosed with skin cancer, and one person
dies nearly every hour (Siegel, Victoria, P 117.) Skin cancer is growing and a multitude of people are
constantly being diagnosed. It is the nurses responsibility to inform their patients about skin cancer
while they are in for a check up. Nurses spend more time with their patients than doctors do, therefore
they could educate them and look for possible skin lesions. In order to understand the severity of skin
cancer, professors must educate nursing students on the causes, treatments and ways to detect and
prevent skin cancer.

The Influence of Religion in Phillis Wheatley s Life Essay
The Influence of Religion in Phillis Wheatley s Life
Phillis Wheatley overcame extreme obstacles, such as racism and sexism, to become one of the most
acclaimed poets in the 18th Century. Her works are characterized by religious and moral backgrounds,
which are due to the extensive education of religion she received. In this sense, her poems also fit into
American Poetry. However, she differs in the way that she is a black woman whose writings tackle
greater subjects while incorporating her moral standpoint. By developing her writing, she began
speaking out against injustices that she faced and, consequently, gave way to authors such as
Gwendolyn Brooks and Countee Cullen.

In general, religion was a large part of Boston. Few slaves were encouraged to attend church;
however, the Wheatleys attended New South Congregational Church and encouraged Phillis to
embrace the Lord as they had (Mason 4). Because she was asthmatic, she attended Old South
Congregational Church, which was closer to the Wheatley residence (Weidt 15).
By the age of twelve, she had become quite familiar with the Bible as well as literary works of
contemporary English poets. In addition, she translated works by the Latin and Greek writers Ovid
and Homer, respectively (Mason 4). At this same time, after being in Boston for about four years, she
began to take an interest in writing (Mason 4). Susanna supplied Phillis with paper and ink to enable
her to write and even allowed Phillis to ignore her household duties to write emdash;something that
was practically unheard of for a slave (Mason 5). However, Susanna was accommodating because she
wanted Phillis to pursue her religious education and believed that writing would enable her to do so.
Phillis fascination with writing grew, and as time passed, she became especially interested in authors
that shared her religious beliefs. Her favorite writer was Alexander Pope, who was also a Christian. He
was famous for his elegies, which usually had some uplifting conclusion, where hope and love and
faith usually triumph over death to honor

1950 s Sociology
The 1950 s saw a boom in the development of suburbs to counter the post World War 2 housing
shortage problem as living in the suburbs offered an alternative to the overcrowded cities. This
phenomenon coincided with the significant growth of the American economy, which granted the
people stronger purchasing power to own a big house in the suburbs and the confidence to improve
their socioeconomic status. Consequently, the suburban lifestyle came to be associated with strong
familial ties and upward social mobility, which can be defined as the American ideals of the 1950 s. It
is important to note that the media had a very significant role in shaping these ideals, mainly through
situational comedies (sitcoms) on television and advertisement, both ... Show more content on

This was largely due to the lack of representation of other groups of people such as the African
Americans, homosexuals and Americans from a lower socioeconomic status. In the area of race for
example, most sitcoms in the 1950 s such as I Love Lucy (1951) and The Honeymooners (1956)
mainly featured white characters, with little or no mention of other races. Set in a wider context, these
American ideals coincided with the Civil Rights Movement (1954) which sought to end racial
discrimination and segregation, therefore highlighting how these ideals did not encompass Americans
from all walks of life but only the white majority. Hence in leaving out Americans from other racial
and social groups, the media mostly shaped only the American ideals of the white majority as it failed

Negative Impacts Of Deforestation
Impacts of Deforestation
Deforestation is the clearing of wide areas of forests for the purpose of using the land or the resources
in the area. Two highly demanding products that are causing deforestation around the world are palm
oil and cocoa. However, in the process of growing these products trees are removed from the area in
order to be converted into palm and cocoa plantations. As a result, many animal habitats are ruined,
and an abundance of trees are cut releasing carbon dioxide into the air contributing to climate change.
Increased demand for products containing ingredients such as palm oil and cocoa are just two of the
reasons the rate of deforestation is escalating resulting in the exploitation of animal habitats and
worsening the effects of climate change. Many small countries main income is through exporting
agricultural products. Therefore, as demand increases countries will do whatever they need to do to
meet the demand. Often, corners are cut, and there are many negative consequences. Palm oil is an
ingredient that is found in many consumer products that are on the market. Companies should be held
responsible for where the ingredients of their products come from and should be held accountable to
source products such as palm oil in a sustainable way which does not contribute to deforestation
(Larsson). Many areas are currently cutting down trees in order to convert the land into palm oil
plantations. One example would be in the Borneo rainforest. Naomi

Essay On American Exceptionalism
Throughout the course of American history, how the population chose to act and react when in various
situations gradually developed the idea of American exceptionalism, in the process bringing out both
the best and worst in American society. Acts such as the mistreatment of the Native Americans showed
how American supremacy came across as arrogant at times; events such as the terrorist attacks of 9/11
showed how American exceptionalism has the ability to bring a society together during times of
hardship. In his sermon, A Model of Christian Charity, John Winthrop proclaimed that their settlement
should be a city upon a hill (24). Being part of a new generation of Puritans, Winthrop believed that
they were God s chosen people , and therefore responsible for setting an example by creating a beacon
of righteousness that all others are to admire (24). Surely this idea of Puritan exceptionalism was
inspiring at the time; many soon to be colonists aspired to gain their agency as could play a large role

With intentions of having supremacy in various industries, many colonists fell victim to their egos
when intentionally killing natives with smallpox and other European microorganisms (31). Often, the
warped concept of American supremacy stimulated many colonists egos, bringing the worst out of
them. The Pequot War is another perfect example American supremacy being expressed in the form of
arrogance; from the colonists lust for power, lust for land, and...greed, they committed mass killings
and burn Pequot babies to give them full control and dominance over the Pequots (166). While they
benefitted their New England settlements, they killed off ninety percent of the Native American

Chrysalids Group Seminar
The Chrysalids Seminar
Sumayyah Betrayal and loyalty those are two strong words that might have affected us some time in
our life. The terms betrayal and loyalty are also relatable when we started our novel the Chrysalids by
John Wyndham. In the novel the author shows the concept of betrayal and loyalty as the ultimate
result of poor relationships.
Jamal Betrayal and loyalty are represented by the various kinds of relationships and their impact on
one another.
Misty This is illustrated in two ways. Firstly the act of loyalty is shown as a result of true friendship.

It is clear that Anne no longer cared for the group ultimately betraying and risking the life of everyone
in the group. This effected many people such as Anne herself because she ended up taking her life
because she did not the trust the group also the whole group need to stay more alarmed just in case
anyone found out about their skills.
Pratish Betrayal was also the result when aunt Harriet asks to borrow her sisters baby to receive a
certificate for normality, the sister refuses furiously showing no empathy or kindness. This is seen
when Aunt Harriet enters David s moms room and begs to borrow Petra in exchange for some days.
David s mom cold heartedly replies In all my life. I have never heard anything so outrageous... To
think that I should led you my own child This quote is important because it shows that Aunt Harriet s
sister is so hateful towards deviants and blasphemies that she would not even bother helping her own
sister. It also shows that Aunt Harriet and her sister don t have a strong family relationship. This
develops the thesis because it shows poor relationships are the results of heart breaking betrayals.
Misty Therefore it is clear that betrayal and loyalty is depended on the kind of relationship you have
with the person. For example this was proven when David attempts to save Sophie from Allan even
though it was a great risk.

Consumerism In Brave New World
As renown author, Bryant H. McGill, once stated in his piece titled Biodynamics, Anarchy, Consumer
Democracy and the Danger of Monocultures, the folly endless consumerism sends us on a wild goose
chase for happiness through materialism. This quote houses much truth in the sense that consumerism
births a hazardous game to play. The novel, Brave New World, written by Aldous Huxley, describes a
dystopian society filled with psychological manipulation, cloning technology, and citizens with vulgar
emotional detachment, all thanks to the leading force, consumerism. At a young age, the World State

Edith Wharton s Roman Fever
The majority of people in society today believe in free will and that they can choose what happens in
their own life. Others acknowledge an unknown force that shapes their lives, which they have no
control over. This conflict can be explained by the Determinism theory. Determinism is a philosophy
described as human beings having no free will and therefore, cannot control their own actions and
should not be held accountable. This philosophy is seen in Edith Wharton s short story Roman Fever
by her characters Mrs. Slade and Mrs. Ansley as they argue about a letter and an affair in the duration
of the story. Wharton s main characters are on opposing sides of the philosophy of determinism, with
Mrs. Slade representing determinism and Mrs. Ansley representing free will, respectively and each
effectively showing Wharton s disagreement to determinism.
In Roman Fever , Mrs. Slade represented determinism in the duration of the story through her jealousy
and similar emotions. Her thoughts and actions in the story towards her lifelong friend has traces of
jealousy and bewilderment throughout the story. For example when reminiscing on the days of their
youth in Rome, she realized that, There was no one of whom she had less right to think unkindly than
of Grace Ansley. Would she never cure herself of envying her! (Wharton 6). Mrs. Slade talks about
how her life is boring and now that her husband has passed away, her life is even more dreary. She
envious of the type of daughter

The Era of Good Feeling Dbq
The Era of Good Feeling The Era of Good Feeling was a time of increased nationalism and prosperity
for the nation. This of course is not completely true, debates over many important issues created a
crack in the outward appearance of harmony during President Monroe s two terms. These issues
include sectionalism, foreign policy of isolationism and the rights of states vs. the rights of the federal
government. During Monroe s two terms, sectionalism, an excessive regard for sectional or local
interest, increased greatly. This increase in sectionalism is due to acts like the Tariff of 1816. A tell tale
sign that the Tariff of 1816 was going to cause sectionalism was that in the U.S. House of
Representatives, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another issue that created a crack in the outward appearance of harmony during The Era of Good
Feeling was President Monroe s foreign policy of isolationism. In the Monroe doctrine, President
Monroe states, we should consider any attempt on their [European powers ] part to extent their system
to any portion of the hemisphere as dangerous to our peace and safety . This statement makes the
United States seem like a protector of Latin nations. However, the United States was not looking to
protect Latin nations from European powers; the United States was looking to protect itself from
European acts of aggression. This misconstrued view that the United States was the protector of Latin
nations helps people buy into the false belief that The Era of Good Feeling really was a time of
harmony in the United States. Another issue that made a crack in the outward appearance of harmony
during The Era of Good Feeling was the debate over the rights of states vs. the federal government.
This issue comes up with the proposal of many internal improvement plans. Plans to build roads that
were to be federally funded were vetoed by supporters of states rights because they believed this
power was out of the scope of the federal government. The passing of internal improvement bills
would ve positively impact the U.S. but debates over state and national rights

(or active margins) occur wherever 2 plates slide toward one another to make either a geological

the trail of the downward moving plate because it descends into layer, a trench forms, and because the
subducted plate part melts, rock rises to make continental volcanoes. Closure of ocean basins will
occur at continent to continent boundaries (e.g., the Himalaya and Alps): collision between plenty of
granitic continental lithosphere; neither mass is subducted; plate edges ar compressed, folded, uplifted.

Write An Essay On Becoming A Therapist
I only felt it fitting in this time of emotional rawness to write you one last letter. I have seen more
therapists than i can count since i was seven years old. Most were okay some were pretty good but i
never connected with any of them. Then i came to you at one of the hardest points in my life. I was
struggling with who i was while the world was telling me who to be. From the very first time i met
you, you exuded humanity rather than the cold exterior i had come to expect. I had never connected
with another therapist before and it was scary so i pushed you away at first. But over time i told you
things i had never told anyone else. In return you showed me that it was okay to take a while to figure

and is very hard i know we will both thrive in whatever journey we choose to go on. I know this not
only because you are one of the most genuine caring nurturing people i have ever had the pleasure of
knowing but because i was given the opportunity to learn from you, to thrive under your watchful eye,
and to come out the other side with the utmost confidence that i will succeed. I know how hard this is
on you also, you tell us we can be selfish and we can cry because you are leaving. But i also
understand that this is a huge change for you also and i just want to tell you again that i know you can
do this because i know you and you are wonderful. While i may never see you again i will always

The Multiplier Online Games ( Mog )
1. Introduction:
Multiplier Online Games (MOG) are one kind of real time applications. These are developed using
either centralized architecture (Client Server Architecture) also known as traditional architecture or
using distributed architecture (Peer to Peer Architecture). Some games are developed using a
combination of these two architectures known as Mirrored Server Architecture (Hsu, Ling, Li, Kuo,
2003). In general, games are two types. One is role based playing games where players role is fixed.
Other is real time strategy based games where player s actions dynamic. The Quake, Galaxy Star
Wars, EVE, Warcraft are some examples of multiplayer online games (Merabti Rhalibi, 2004). For
entertainment purpose and for a virtual experience, people are showing greater interest in MOG. In
recent years, organizations started to using distributed architecture or Peer to Peer (P P) architecture
for developing MOG due to its robustness, scalability, and flexibility. The well known traditional
client server architecture has limited scalability and robustness and it requires the high cost to
maintain servers when online players are massive (Merabti Rhalibi, 2004).
The MOG requires two kinds of platforms. One is physical platform contain hardware and network.
Another is logical platform focuses on system architecture such as software development for players
and hosts according to hardware management. The theme of the logical platform is providing best

Causes Of Self Determination In Africa
3.4 SELF DETERMINATION IN AFRICA
This section seeks to determine the factors responsible for the origins of self determination accounts in
Africa. Indeed, many of the concepts examined above focussed specifically on Europe. The extent to
which the conclusions derived from the European context are applicable to the study of self
determination in Africa needs, therefore, to be further investigated. The following paragraphs present
the factors generally deemed to have been responsible for the rise of nationalism in Africa, a process
that led to the continent s eventual self determination. It reviews the legacies of Western colonization
and briefly discusses the impact of the African American struggle for racial equality, and highlighting
the roles played by Western educated elites in the march towards national self determination.
The study of nationalism in Africa was prompted by the emergence of anti colonialism (xxx, xxx).
Indeed, various factors have been put forward to explain the emergence of nationalism in Africa. The
boundaries drawn by the colonial powers not only indicated their respective areas of sovereignty but
also delimited the territory within which economic and social interchange would take place (xxx,
xxx). The colonial state was modeled on the modem European state which, as we saw in the earlier
sections, had slowly crystallized in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Indeed, the modern state
was to be Europe s most important and enduring legacy to

brought many memories and emotions to the surface. Among these memories was VPI and our love

The Relationship Of Tax Avoidance With Corporate Social...
There is an ongoing debate on the relationship of tax avoidance with corporate social responsibility
(CSR) and ethical behaviour of companies. Specifically, corporate social responsibility can be defined
as companies undertake the responsibility for social welfare and development (Matten and Moon,
2008). For ethical behaviour, it is referred to govern the actions of individuals and organizations in the
business under contemporary standards (Epstein, 1998). Moreover, this is the difference between tax
avoidance, which companies use appropriate methods to reduce the amount of tax within the law, and
tax evasion, which can be defined as illegal to reduce taxes (Hasseldine and Morris, 2013). According
to US Treasury (2009), each year the US government may lose more than $345 billion revenue
because of a variety of tax avoidance. Moreover, the UK government also faces the problem of losing
tax, at £40 billion each year (HM Revenue and Customs, 2010). In recent years, an increasing number
of governments, media, and non government organizations claim that corporate tax avoidance is not
conducive to the development of society and ethical behaviour of enterprises. The aims of this essay
are to research the motivations of corporate tax avoidance, and discusses to a large extent corporate
social responsibility and ethical behaviour of firms is in conflict with tax avoidance, even though they
have some consistency. The first section of the essay will research the motivations of

An offer is an invitation or proposition to engage in business for mutual benefit. While no specific
legal language is required to make the contract valid, the language that is presented must be
specifically chosen to convey the intent of the proposal (Rogers, 2012). Second, there must be an
acceptance. As Craig Smith says it, acceptance is a manifestation of willingness to be bound by the
terms of an offer (Smith, 2015). Acceptance exists any time someone agrees to engage in business
under the terms proposed. The third aspect is consideration. Consideration comes in many forms, but
includes the exchange of mutual values (Rogers, 2012). The buyer provides consideration to contracts
generally by exchanging money, what most sellers want from the transaction and the cornerstone of all
business activity. The seller provides consideration in the form of goods or services that the buyer is
willing to buy (Rogers, 2012). The next essential element of contracts is legality. To be recognized and
enforceable, the elements and terms of the contract must be legal and cannot be based upon the
performance of illegal activity (TFD, 2015). Finally, a valid agreement requires capacity. To enter a
contract, one must be at least 18 years old, of sound mind, and competent to perform his or her duties,
including an understanding of one s future obligations (TFD, 2015). While a preliminary version of
mutual consideration has been discussed, no

Political Postcard Of Syracuse Cultural Workers By Randolf...
In the catalog, Syracuse Cultural Workers, a man named Randolf Smallwood created a political
postcard that could be seen as controversial. This postcard is meant to appeal to people with a critical
respective and it shows what their thoughts are about Conservatives. The artist uses bumper stickers to
portray the harsh truth what Conservatives support and what they believe in. Political parties often do
not agree on each other s views and this post card is an example of how they may bash each other to
show the points they disagree with. Using a bumper sticker was an interesting approach because many
people have them on their cars to show what candidate or party their supportive of, but these parodies
of bumper stickers reveal more than what they normally say. Everything on this postcard is placed
strategically and meant to portray a certain message. This postcard s main image shows a blue truck
with many colorful bumper stickers on the back of it. It is meant to represent the truthful way that
Conservatives think and what they believe in. We do not see the owner or driver of the truck in the
picture, but we can assume that he is a middle class, white male who supports rich and powerful
people. He does not drive a fancy, expensive car, but he then has a bumper sticker that says SAVE
OUR BILLIONAIRES . He may be in support of the conservatives because he hopes that one day he
will become rich and powerful himself. The postcard shows a medium shot of the car so it is

Some schools banned South Park related merchandise for students, and parent councils in UK

they can relate to that character in one way or another, and children tend to imitate what they see or

themes of love and mortality through war and suffering. I had been completely moved by Liesel

The story is set in 1939, Nazi Germany; begins shortly before the First World War.
Liesel Meminger, a 9 year old foster child, lives with Hans and Rosa Hubermann in the small town of
Molching. Throughout the story, she becomes literate under the guidance of Hans, befriends a

happiness because all her friends have left her. Hans had been drafted into the military, Rudy had been

She also grew hatred for Adolf Hitler as she believed that his propaganda was to blame for the
Holocaust and many innocent deaths including her biological family. It is Ilsa Hermann, the mayor s
wife, who invites Liesel to read in her library and continue to learn to read and write. Given a blank

Essay about An Investigation of Postpartum Depression
An Investigation of Postpartum Depression

The recent Andrea Yates murder trial brought a firestorm of controversy as the issue of postpartum
depression (PPD) became a debated topic throughout the country. Did Andrea truly suffer from
psychosis as she drowned her five children in the bathtub or was such defense a scheme to avoid the
death sentence? Prosecutors suggested the spousal revenge theory as a motive for the killings. Could
she have committed murder to get back at a possessive and domineering husband? (1).
The outcome of the trial was by no means exceptional as it was a murder case, which resulted in a life

Depression scores were actually higher at 8 months of pregnancy with 13.5% of the participants
assessed as depressed. Such percentage lowered to 9.1% at 8 weeks and 8.1% at 8 months postpartum

Postpartum depression is categorized into three forms according to symptoms experienced:
1. Postpartum blues is a common and usually short lived condition which is characterized by weeping,
emotional instability, low self esteem, anxiety and vulnerability immediately after giving birth (5).
2. Postpartum depression (PPD) is more intense and incapacitating as it can often interrupt with the
woman s everyday activities. It can be accompanied by feelings of despair, anxiety, fatigue and
irritability which linger and reoccur for months if no medical attention is given (5).
3.Women with postpartum psychosis suffer from insomnia, hyperactivity and hallucinations and
delusions about death and possibly hurting the child.
Psychosis is further accompanied with schizophrenia and has an onset of three months but can appear

Although the three categorizations may be useful for the identification and possible treatment of the

In China between the years 1925 to 1950 myriad changes were occurring. Chinese peasants and the

relationships between the Communist Party and the peasants grew through the defense against a
common enemy, mutual support, and the establishment of equality. The Chinese Communist Party and
the Chinese peasants had a common hatred for the Japanese abiding in China who had invaded their

Joko Theft Research Paper
Joke theft is a very real and serious problem. I believe that for a multitude of reasons, just some of
which vary from as simple as It s morally wrong. To as far as to say That s a comedian s way of
making money, by being funny and original, to take that originality and try to pass it off as your own
and especially if you get paid for it (as is the case in the article) is just cruel.
My opinion on this topic is that it varies from situation to situation, when it comes to news related
jokes, there is only a slim margin of ways to come up with a punch line. For example, I watch a decent
amount of the late comedic nightly news shows such as, Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Late Show
with Stephen Colbert, and The Daily show with Trevor Noah. To be frank, most of their monologues
sound similar and have a recognisable pattern with their jokes. Being that they report on the news of
the day with a comedic twist, they frequently have close if not almost identical jokes, in this case I
think it s not stealing each other s jokes it might just be closer to that their writers had close, if not,
identical ideas for jokes. On the other side of the problem, there are situations in which a stand up

Art And Renaissance And Baroque Italy
In the debate over the proper way in which to make art in Renaissance and Baroque Italy, the debate,
seems to have hardened into a matter of disegno and colore, with each representing a whole artistic
philosophy exacerbated by an wrapped up in civic pride, competition and individual ego. If taken at
face value, disegno, represented by Georgio Vasari and practiced in Florence, was the essence of
rationality and intellectual detail, demanding artists who could be universal (this being too early to call
themselves Renaissance men ), and engage in planning out projects with extensive sketches,
experiments in perspective, technical mastery and serious study of classical models and living masters.
For Vasari, disegno was a mental faculty by which, through abstraction from nature, an idea was
evoked in the artist s mind which determined the forms created by him, in a process of invenzione.
Famously, he related the story of an artist who saw just the paw of a lion sculpted from marble, but
because the disegno was so good, the viewer could follow through and visualize the entire beast. A
paragon of this process would be an academician, professionalized by formal study of anatomy, optics
and perspective and would be familiar with common pattern books. All of this preparation allowed the
Florentine artist to work in the unforgiving medium of fresco, where the fast drying plaster yielded
beautiful colors, but allowed for no hesitation and no mistakes.

Mead-Hall In Beowulf
The role the mead hall plays in Anglo Saxon warrior culture is an important one, for without such a
hall, there is no such basis for a community. The mead hall offers the security and stability that a
warrior needs after a long day. Likewise, it is also the warrior culture s ultimate vulnerability, So times
were pleasant for the people there until finally one, a fiend out of hell, began to work his evil in the
world (p1237). As presented in Beowulf, the mead hall is the very reason he is given a chance to prove
his extraordinary strength and power due to Grendal sneaking in the great hall at night to ravenously
devour warriors one by one, So, after nightfall, Grendal set out for the lofty house...there he came
upon them, a company of the best asleep from their feasting, insensible to pain and human sorrow...he
grabbed thirty men from their resting places and rushed to his lair (p1238). ... Show more content on

Many grand feasts and gatherings occur in such a setting, warriors come home to the warm hearth of
the hall of their lord after completing the tasks they were sent out for. They might find mead being
distributed, women about, and perhaps even a young boy turning into a man. A fine example is given
in the book, what Grendal hears from a distance of such a grand Mead Hall, It harrowed him to hear
the din of the loud banquet every day in the hall, the harp being struck and the clear song of a skilled
poet telling with mastery of man s beginnings, how the Almighty had made the earth a gleaming plain
girdled with waters

Plato s View On Morality And Justice
Plato s Republic proposes a number of intriguing theories, ranging from his contemporary view of
ethics to political idealism. It is because of Plato s emerging interpretations that philosophers still refer
to Plato s definitions of moral philosophy as a standard. Plato s possibly most argued concept could be
said to be the analogy between city and soul in Book IV, partially due to his expansive analysis of
justice and the role justice plays in an ideal city, which has some key flaws. Despite these flawed
assumptions that my essay will point out, Plato s exposition on ethics is still relevant for scholars and
academics to study, due to his interpretive view on morality and justice.
1.
Socrates attempts to formulate a definition of the word, moderation, to investigate how the virtue of
moderation comes into play with the human soul. Socrate s elucidates how moderation is often
perceived as the mastery of certain kinds of pleasures and desires, and explore how the controller of
the weak and strong are both the same person. Consequently Socrates ridicules the word, self control.
Just as Thrasymachus argues in Book I that justice is, the advantage of the stronger, and whether the
people who are actually ruling are those best suited to rule, Plato s argument also seems to revolve
around this concept, as the reader questions whether there is a part of the soul which is naturally suited
to rule. To further consider this notion, Socrates discusses how a master of

Covetousness Of God In Amadeus
Moreover, Mozart s music in Amadeus is attributed to survey intricate relationship between God and
humans. Through Salieri s powerful jealousy of Mozart s music and his intense blame on God, the
movie proposes the issue of human s incomplete belief in God and the question about the existence of
God. Salieri, in the beginning part of the movie, is presented as the profoundly religious human. He
believes that God grants his faithful wish to be a successful composer so he tries to devote to his God
earnestly. However, after the appearance of Mozart in his life, Salieri starts to distrust God and commit
blasphemy. Throughout the movie, Salieri s strong covetousness of Mozart s talent and his blame on
God who only gives his gift not to his honest son but to an obscene child, Mozart, are ... Show more

Larry D. Bouchard states that even if Salieri could not create the voice of god, he was the musician
with ears for listening to the voice of god truly. (207) However, Salieri in Amadeus does not realize
his own talent and only abominates Mozart and God. Salieri s emotion of detestation for God resulted
from the severe jealousy of Mozart leads him to revenge for God and to break officially his tie with
God in the end. The revenge for God and his incarnation Mozart begins in the scene that Constanze
the wife of Mozart visits Salieri again in a late night to request his recommendation for her husband to
teach Princess Elizabeth. In the movie, when Constanze takes off her dress for a trade with Salieri, the
tune of Mass in C Minor K. 427, Kyrie whose lyrics mean Lord have mercy upon us is played. The
music inserted in the scene brings an ironical effect on the movie because the scene is the very
moment that Salieri commits his blasphemy for the first time by raping the wife of

The Explorer Poem Analysis
The Explorer was written during the civil rights movement when Brooks started to focus on writing
for the black community. Through the blood, sweat, and sacrifice her community experiences every
day, she is inspired to write this particular piece to show that African Americans, although are scared,
will keep fighting and searching for their utopia. Starting from stanza one, the word frayed stands out
the most. Repeated twice, it immediately tells the reader that the situation is not that of hope and is life
changing to the main character. Still spot also references that the main character is looking for a quiet
setting. The theme of quiet and peace is renounced in stanza two as words such as velvet peace and
willy hush also go along with the peace and quiet theme. Now, the reader gains a better sense of the
financial condition of the main character. Tatters makes the reader think that the main character is poor
and financially challenged, and knowing Brooks purpose of the poem is about revitalizing hope for the
black community, the main character is most likely black male. Moreover, Brooks inserts a metaphor
that comprises most of the stanza and ultimately depicts that the character in the poem is trying to find
peace and quiet both within a house and his mind (Poem 3). Next in stanza three, the main purpose of
this stanza is to describe what exactly is happening to the main character. Tipping down the scrambled
halls reveals that the main character does not

Hotel On The Corner Of Bitter And Sweet By Jamie Ford
Maya Angelou once said, I can be changed by what happens to me, but I refuse to be reduced by it.
This quote encompasses the idea that change is inevitable. A person is involved in numerous
relationships during their lifetime and what happens within them can change who they become in the
future. Within the novel, Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford, the relationships that
Henry Lee has developed throughout his lifetime have shaped him into the person he is today.
To begin, the relationship between Henry and his father has a huge impact on who he is today. Henry
and his father never seemed to see eye to eye. The country of China, Mr. Lee s childhood home, was
the only place that his family belonged to in his eyes. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Marty and Henry have a relationship close to that of Henry and his own father. They do not talk much,
and they have never been close. Ethel, Henry s wife was the glue that stuck the two men together. In
essence, both men were bound to their fathers through their mothers. Marty is Henry s only son, and
he himself had been an only child. After Ethel passed away, Marty came around more, and their
relationship started to grow. Eventually Marty introduces Henry to Samantha, his girlfriend, and
Henry seems to open up to an even further extent. He is very accepting of the fact that Sam is
Caucasian, and not Chinese. Marty is surprised at this fact, and thus begins the unveiling of Henry s
past. Marty ultimately realizes that Henry is not his grandfather, and they take the first step into a
stronger bond. Following the trips to the Panama Hotel, the two are more connected than they ever
had been. Marty encourages his father to find Keiko again, and not to completely give up on his first
love. Henry s relationship with Marty helped him learn acceptance in a way that he will love Marty no
matter the circumstances. He will sacrifice to no ends to make sure Marty is able to attend college, and
that he is happy. Another key lesson that Henry learned is to follow his dreams, and that it is never too
late to chase them. Marty and Samantha both encouraged Henry

Vengeance In Shakespeare s Titus Andronicus
During the Elizabethan period, revenge tragedies were the leading form of drama commonly utilized
by Shakespeare, despite the morals of the time renouncing it in essence. Because of the nature of
revenge, it is often said that before embarking on this journey it is best to dig two graves; in Titus
Andronicus, widely considered the bloodiest of Shakespeare s revenge tragedies, this adage connects
perfectly with the theme of the plots. Shakespeare unfolds a series of revenge that the play reads like a
horror film in many ways with overtly gratuitous violence plaguing almost every scene. Involves
violence against each character in the play, Shakespeare communicating his own beliefs about seeking
vengeance. Through various literary techniques,

Informative Essay On Cocaine
Cocaine
When you reach into the refrigerator for a Coca Cola, do you ever wonder where it got its name? You
might be surprised to find out! When coke was created 120 years ago, it contained cocaine (Bayer 27).
At the time scientists did not realize that cocaine was addictive and dangerous. Scientists today know
that cocaine is among the strongest stimulants known, and trying the drug even one time can cause
heart attack, stroke, and even death. Even the most in shape athlete could die from one use (Bayer 26).

it hits the street. This is because gangs cut it with other substances such as sugar, PCP, speed, corn

Between 1981 and 1996 the U.S. Government has spent more than $80 billion fighting the drug war .
Government agents continuously patrol our southern border, from Florida to California, in an effort to
ward off large scale drug smuggling. Thus far, their efforts appear futile (Bayer 33).
Cocaine is a strong central nervous stimulant. It speeds up the body s work, and affects the part of the
brain that produces strong feelings of pleasure. It makes the user feel powerful and full of energy, and
they no longer feel tired. In experiments, monkeys that were allowed to have all the cocaine they

Media Portrayal Of Violence In The Media The risk of developing aggressive behavior is high among children who were raised in a negative environment such as social and economic factors play a huge role. The primary place a children is in is at home. Poverty has a significant impact on a child s social behavior these children that are raised in poor environments have a higher risk of behavior problems. Impoverished communities have a wide range of people living there not all the people in that neighborhood may have the same parenting styles or teach their child to behave. Children in impoverished neighborhoods can often play with other kids outdoors and since other children may not be raised to behave well they will bring that behavior in their homes and begin to use it. Potential behavior that can arise from other children who do not behave can lead to not respecting others, anger, and violence. The media has been linked to aggressive behavior in children. The outcome of media portrayal of violence can have lasting effects such as children can be begin to feel less sensitive to the pain and suffering of others. Sometimes watching violence can even be enjoyable because of how the media plays it out to be. It may be funny or no consequences or punishment to violent act committed. • 4. Analysis Of The Book The First P.f History Even though the first P.F. Chang s opened in 1993, the story really began way back in the 1960s. It started with a lady named Cecilia Chiang running a flourishing and wildly successful Chinese restaurant named The Mandarin. In 1974, she opened a second location in posh Beverly Hills, feeding celebrities the likes of John Lennon and Yoko Ono. The celebration we see in the media of celebrity chefs today really started with Cecelia Chang. She was indeed a pioneer. That very same year, Cecilia returned to China for an extended trip. Her son, Philip, fresh out of art school, struggled finding work as an artist. He quickly stepped in to run the restaurant. At that time a restaurateur called Paul Fleming, based in Arizona, was running a successful restaurant concept, spending time at his regular Chinese place in Los Angeles called Mandarette. Fleming broke with the traditional Chinese restaurant format, and with his collaborator, Chef Philip Chiang, devised a selectively limited menu that featured far fewer dishes than the menus of typical, full service, Chinese restaurants. Incorporating an American steak house dining style and a formidable selection of wines and cheeses, P.F. Chang s offers such items not offered in traditional Chinese restaurants such as espresso and cappuccino. Despite displaying highly stylish décor in the tradition of Ming and Tang Dynasties with many hand painted murals, P.F. Chang China Bistros are very moderately priced, a concept ... What would you recommend the Dekan do regarding the Business School s strategic planning process? What role would you recommend the Dekan play in this process? The school can get over the difficulties it faces if certain guidelines and measures are followed. The important solutions include; Communication and consultation. No institution can strive and be productive without consultation. All business requires a platform whereby communication amongst the people is involved. Regarding this university, parties involved includes the students, tutors and other stockholders of the institution. If working platforms to enhance better communication is put in place, low risks of tussles in the school will be reduced. Also since the Dekan is concerned about the number of meetings held in the school every year, few meetings which will benefit the university and as well save cost should be financed as to discourage mismanagement and wasting of university s funds which can be diverted to help settle other issues of the university. However, If the capital assigned to the meetings are sufficient to hold up to four or less meetings in a year, communication amongst the officials should be effective on which of the meetings should be given high priorities or not. I found myself to procrastinate when papers were assigned making my anxiety levels increase. Despite my struggles as a writer and thinker, I learned how to overcome these obstacles. I learned to be open minded and looking at topics from another perspective. In the beginning of the term I was assigned an essay that described me as a writer and thinker. With this essay being my first assignment, I was quite stressed with the feeling of failure. After this assignment I learned the importance of the drafting system. After my paper was graded I received it back and noticed multiple mistakes. This was the first step I practiced improving. Writing multiple drafts helped me analysis the material I wrote from another point of view. For example, I was able to eliminate sections that were unrelated from the main point. Building my vocabulary up another step I had focus as a writer and thinker. I used a combination between the dictionary and thesaurus to help me increase my vocabulary. She mentions that if a copyright law is charged with protecting a particular arrangement of notes, then maybe copyright laws should protect the riffs, melodies, harmonies, etc., or all of them. It is of great importance to understand the meaning behind what this means by looking at copyright laws and what it means to the music industry. One characteristic of intellectual property rights is copyright. This means that it can be bought or sold like any other form of property (McCann 1998). McCann states that the creator of an artistic piece of work is the first owner of a copyright. The owner has the exclusive rights to do or to authorize anyone else to do certain things with the whole or any extensive part of the work. The author and or the creator is at the centre of the copyright paradigm as a separate and discrete body or entity. This is because the concept of the writer or composer is a special participant in the production process which is worthy of attention. Authorship is important within the context of copyright because as McCann points out: The authorship concept, although highly visible in contemporary copyright law, usually appears as a focus of consensus rather than debate. Authorship , as deployed in texts and in cultural understandings, has been anything but a stable, inert foundation for the structure of copyright doctrine. Rather, the ideologically charged ... It has over 600,000+ employees and is the second largest civilian employer in the United States. (DeHaven, 2010). While it is one of the countries most thriving businesses it is not void of faults. The APWU would, at this point, begin the negotiation process. To start the union would create a Contract Action Committee (CAC) filled with active members. The CAC would then gather key information about things the members want to amend and plan a contract campaign. This campaign should be created with the intent to apply pressure to the employer. Once the campaign has started a bargaining team should be formed and trained. This team will work close with the CAC and negotiate the contract with the employer. The team will gather information from the union members and begin to lay negotiation round rules to schedule out the location and time of negations. Pollution is a hazard to a human s health, and causes a vulnerable stage to the Earth s ecosystem. There are several types of pollution such as; noise, water, air, thermal, and many more. Water pollution, in particular, is the contamination from harsh chemicals, from various outlets, that spread into the bodies of water that will affect humans, land animals, aquatic animals, living plants, and many more. First, there is point source pollution, pollution that comes from a single location. An example of a point source pollution would be rainfall. Rainfall picks up and carries human made pollutants, such as harmful gases, oils, and smoke, which are then deposited into a body of water such as lakes, rivers, and groundwaters. Factories and sewage plants are two of the common types of point source pollution. Another main water pollution type is nonpoint source pollution, pollution that comes from multiple locations and sources. An example of nonpoint source pollutions would be, pesticide run offs, urban runoffs, bacteria or nutrients from livestock and crops, harmful chemicals from factories, and many more. Two highly demanding products that are causing deforestation around the world are palm oil and cocoa. As a result, many animal habitats are ruined, and an abundance of trees are cut releasing carbon dioxide into the air contributing to climate change. Increased demand for products containing ingredients such as palm oil and cocoa are just two of the reasons the rate of deforestation is escalating resulting in the exploitation of animal habitats and worsening the effects of climate change. Many small countries main income is through exporting agricultural products. Therefore, as demand increases countries will do whatever they need to do to meet the demand. Others acknowledge an unknown force that shapes their lives, which they have no control over. This conflict can be explained by the Determinism theory. Determinism is a philosophy described as human beings having no free will and therefore, cannot control their own actions and should not be held accountable. This philosophy is seen in Edith Wharton s short story Roman Fever by her characters Mrs. Slade and Mrs. Ansley as they argue about a letter and an affair in the duration of the story. Wharton s main characters are on opposing sides of the philosophy of determinism, with Mrs. Slade representing determinism and Mrs. Ansley representing free will, respectively and each effectively showing Wharton s disagreement to determinism. In Roman Fever , Mrs. Slade represented determinism in the duration of the story through her jealousy and similar emotions. Her thoughts and actions in the story towards her lifelong friend has traces of jealousy and bewilderment throughout the story. For example when reminiscing on the days of their youth in Rome, she realized that, There was no one of whom she had less right to think unkindly than of Grace Ansley. There is an ongoing debate on the relationship of tax avoidance with corporate social responsibility (CSR) and ethical behaviour of companies. Specifically, corporate social responsibility can be defined as companies undertake the responsibility for social welfare and development (Matten and Moon, 2008). For ethical behaviour, it is referred to govern the actions of individuals and organizations in the business under contemporary standards (Epstein, 1998). Moreover, this is the difference between tax avoidance, which companies use appropriate methods to reduce the amount of tax within the law, and tax evasion, which can be defined as illegal to reduce taxes (Hasseldine and Morris, 2013). An offer is an invitation or proposition to engage in business for mutual benefit. While no specific legal language is required to make the contract valid, the language that is presented must be specifically chosen to convey the intent of the proposal (Rogers, 2012). Second, there must be an acceptance. As Craig Smith says it, acceptance is a manifestation of willingness to be bound by the terms of an offer (Smith, 2015). Acceptance exists any time someone agrees to engage in business under the terms proposed. The third aspect is consideration. Consideration comes in many forms, but includes the exchange of mutual values (Rogers, 2012). The buyer provides consideration to contracts generally by exchanging money, what most sellers want from the transaction and the cornerstone of all business activity. The seller provides consideration in the form of goods or services that the buyer is willing to buy (Rogers, 2012). The next essential element of contracts is legality. To be recognized and enforceable, the elements and terms of the contract must be legal and cannot be based upon the performance of illegal activity (TFD, 2015). Finally, a valid agreement requires capacity. To enter a contract, one must be at least 18 years old, of sound mind, and competent to perform his or her duties, including an understanding of one s future obligations (TFD, 2015). • 30. Political Postcard Of Syracuse Cultural Workers By Randolf... In the catalog, Syracuse Cultural Workers, a man named Randolf Smallwood created a political postcard that could be seen as controversial. This postcard is meant to appeal to people with a critical respective and it shows what their thoughts are about Conservatives. The artist uses bumper stickers to portray the harsh truth what Conservatives support and what they believe in. Political parties often do not agree on each other s views and this post card is an example of how they may bash each other to show the points they disagree with. Using a bumper sticker was an interesting approach because many people have them on their cars to show what candidate or party their supportive of, but these parodies of bumper stickers reveal more than what they normally say. Everything on this postcard is placed strategically and meant to portray a certain message. This postcard s main image shows a blue truck with many colorful bumper stickers on the back of it. It is meant to represent the truthful way that Conservatives think and what they believe in. We do not see the owner or driver of the truck in the picture, but we can assume that he is a middle class, white male who supports rich and powerful people. He does not drive a fancy, expensive car, but he then has a bumper sticker that says SAVE OUR BILLIONAIRES . He may be in support of the conservatives because he hopes that one day he will become rich and powerful himself. The postcard shows a medium shot of the car so it is ... I had been completely moved by Liesel Meminger s, the protagonist s, coming of age story and unable to put the book down once I began to read. The story is set in 1939, Nazi Germany; begins shortly before the First World War. Liesel Meminger, a 9 year old foster child, lives with Hans and Rosa Hubermann in the small town of Molching. To as far as to say That s a comedian s way of making money, by being funny and original, to take that originality and try to pass it off as your own and especially if you get paid for it (as is the case in the article) is just cruel. My opinion on this topic is that it varies from situation to situation, when it comes to news related jokes, there is only a slim margin of ways to come up with a punch line. For example, I watch a decent amount of the late comedic nightly news shows such as, Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and The Daily show with Trevor Noah. To be frank, most of their monologues sound similar and have a recognisable pattern with their jokes. Being that they report on the news of the day with a comedic twist, they frequently have close if not almost identical jokes, in this case I think it s not stealing each other s jokes it might just be closer to that their writers had close, if not, identical ideas for jokes. Art And Renaissance And Baroque Italy In the debate over the proper way in which to make art in Renaissance and Baroque Italy, the debate, seems to have hardened into a matter of disegno and colore, with each representing a whole artistic philosophy exacerbated by an wrapped up in civic pride, competition and individual ego. If taken at face value, disegno, represented by Georgio Vasari and practiced in Florence, was the essence of rationality and intellectual detail, demanding artists who could be universal (this being too early to call themselves Renaissance men ), and engage in planning out projects with extensive sketches, experiments in perspective, technical mastery and serious study of classical models and living masters. For Vasari, disegno was a mental faculty by which, through abstraction from nature, an idea was evoked in the artist s mind which determined the forms created by him, in a process of invenzione. Famously, he related the story of an artist who saw just the paw of a lion sculpted from marble, but because the disegno was so good, the viewer could follow through and visualize the entire beast. A paragon of this process would be an academician, professionalized by formal study of anatomy, optics and perspective and would be familiar with common pattern books. It is because of Plato s emerging interpretations that philosophers still refer to Plato s definitions of moral philosophy as a standard. Plato s possibly most argued concept could be said to be the analogy between city and soul in Book IV, partially due to his expansive analysis of justice and the role justice plays in an ideal city, which has some key flaws. Despite these flawed assumptions that my essay will point out, Plato s exposition on ethics is still relevant for scholars and academics to study, due to his interpretive view on morality and justice. 1. Socrates attempts to formulate a definition of the word, moderation, to investigate how the virtue of moderation comes into play with the human soul. Socrate s elucidates how moderation is often perceived as the mastery of certain kinds of pleasures and desires, and explore how the controller of the weak and strong are both the same person. Consequently Socrates ridicules the word, self control. Just as Thrasymachus argues in Book I that justice is, the advantage of the stronger, and whether the people who are actually ruling are those best suited to rule, Plato s argument also seems to revolve around this concept, as the reader questions whether there is a part of the soul which is naturally suited to rule. Through the blood, sweat, and sacrifice her community experiences every day, she is inspired to write this particular piece to show that African Americans, although are scared, will keep fighting and searching for their utopia. Starting from stanza one, the word frayed stands out the most. Repeated twice, it immediately tells the reader that the situation is not that of hope and is life changing to the main character. Still spot also references that the main character is looking for a quiet setting. The theme of quiet and peace is renounced in stanza two as words such as velvet peace and willy hush also go along with the peace and quiet theme. Now, the reader gains a better sense of the financial condition of the main character. Tatters makes the reader think that the main character is poor and financially challenged, and knowing Brooks purpose of the poem is about revitalizing hope for the black community, the main character is most likely black male.
