Preschool Year 2
Dear Parents,
3- 18 November
Activities we will be doing in Preschool
 Over the next few weeks we will be looking at all the changes that take
place in Autumn. It is a great time to talk about colours, encourage
children’s observational skills and learn new words such as hibernation,
migration and deciduous. We will also be having lots of fun in the craft
area as we create lots of Autumn pictures.
 In maths groups, and throughout the children’s play, we will be
encouraging them to understand and use mathematical language such as
in front, behind, inside, on top, next to, opposite, etc. Please encourage
your child to use these words at home and help their understanding by
directing them to things eg “it’s behind the table” or” look underneath the
chair”
Activities to do at home
 Continue to bring us in any dry, clean Autumn items and any Autumn
pictures you make at home with your child.
 Talk about the lovely colours of Autumn and go on nature walks to see
what you can find.
Notices
 Please can you bring in any adult sized shoe boxes you have as we need
them for a Christmas craft.
 On Friday 18 November we will be holding a homemade cake sale in the
Rainbow café to raise funds for Children in Need. We are looking for
people who are willing to make us cakes and look after the stall. Please
speak to Julie Twist if you can help. The cake stall will be open from 9.15 -
11.45 in the morning and 1.05 – 2.00 in the afternoon. The children will
make and decorate their own cakes in Preschool. Please dress your child
in something yellow or spotty.
