Summer term week 1 1st 12th june 2015
1. Summer Term, weeks 1-2 1st
-12th
June.
Dear Parents,
Activities we will be doing in pre-school:
Encouraging the children to develop and extend their friendships as
they play. We shall be using puppets to talk to the children about, and
to demonstrate, friendly behaviour.
Experimenting with different tools in the paint e.g. sponges and combs,
and talking about the patterns they make. We will also be using
materials with various textures on the sticking table and encouraging
the children to describe them e.g. rough, smooth, hard, soft.
Singing our rhyme of the week which is ‘The Grand Old Duke of York.’
Activities to do at home with your child:
Point out objects which have different textures and ask your child
about how they feel. The Usborne touchy feely books e.g. ‘That’s not
my…’ are ideal for this.
Talk to your child about what they like to do in preschool and who they
like to play with.
Notices:
Please remember to bring a named sun hat for your child and put
suncream on them before the session as we are unable to apply this
for you.
This week you will take home a blue questionnaire asking what your
child has enjoyed doing in preschool. Please complete and return this
as soon as possible. Thank you.
