The Finches From The Galapagos Island
Change is the key factor in a species survival, whether that change, is being minimal or extremely dramatic, and without change a species have
condemned itself to extinction. Animals have learned to adapt to their surroundings in order to survive, and with these adaptation people can
witness new breeds added to the spectrum and see them flourish. Breeds can be defined as a stock of animals or plants within a species having
a distinctive appearance and typically having been developed by deliberate selection. For example the finches from the Galapagos Island s they
are all finches, but they all differed in their appearance, some had smaller others had larger beaks. Charles Darwin studied these Finches and
came to discover that the Finches differed in appearance because they had adapted to their environment. The Galápagos finches provide an
excellent example of this process. Among the birds that ended up in arid environments, the ones with beaks better suited for eating cactus
obtained supplementary food. As a result, they were in healthier condition to mate. Similarly, those with beak shapes that were well suited in
getting nectar from flowers or eating thicker shielded seeds in other environments were at an advantage there. In a very real sense, nature
selected the best adapted varieties to survive and to reproduce. With his findings throughout the years Darwin formulated his theory of
evolution by natural selection, and published his first book entitled, On the Origin

Ephesians 4
Throughout human history, our ancestors lived out the Christian faith in their generation. As a result, the faith passed down into their children s
generations, continuously reaching today s generation. Then, our society changed from a primitive society to a modern society. With the
invention of technology, it creates a new direction towards spreading the Gospel. While our ancestors spoke and wrote Gospel in church, my
generation use technology to share the Gospel on social media and Bible apps. With the different styles of preaching the Gospel, how can we
unite our generations to pursuit God s purpose?
As I elaborate on the theme, Equipping Saints for Ministry in the New Millennium , I will discuss Paul s words in Ephesians 4 to illustrate ...

We may not know our gifts when our time on Earth is ended; however, it does not mean that we passively pray for God to show us without
making the change. It is an honor as saints of God to have the responsibilities to teach the Gospel to the world. Now that my ancestors,
grandparents, and parents have lived out their lives, it is my turn to carry the torch. Whether we know our gift or not, we must continue living
for God. As a result, false teachings and deceptive people cannot separate the unity of God s Church on Earth nor shake our faith (Ephesians
4:13 14). We must mature to avoid destruction. With God s help, our world can live in a new millennium where love, peace, compassion, and
unity eradicates hatred, violence, and division within our families, churches and

The Influence Of Writing
Okay, so clearly this kid has no idea what MLA format is. I don t get it. Did he even look at the rubric? It s there for a reason. I stretched my
arms out behind me and blinked my eyes hard, trying to re wet them. This assignment was turning into the bane of my existence, and I was
only two paragraphs deep. I had made a deal with myself, no more than four hours of grading on the weekends. So much for that. I looked
across my desk at the pen holder/old mug and grabbed a new red pen. My current one was only half full of ink and this short story was going
to need a novels share of red. I started marking away, and soon the page was thoroughly doused in red ink. Capitalize here...comma

I pushed the paper to the side and reached into my top drawer for my bottle of Advil, eager to make the throbbing in my temples subside. Don t
take pills on an empty stomach. The last thing I needed was nausea on top of everything. I pulled out my bottom desk drawer, the secret snack
drawer, and pushed the old chip bags and empty candy wrappers aside, searching for something to nibble on. Yummy, a half eaten granola bar
and mystery Tupperware. I took my chances with the granola bar, deciding against the food poisoning that would come with week contents of
the mystery Tupperware.
After cramming the stale granola bar into my mouth I pulled the wrinkled pages of the essay back in front of me.
The throbbing in my head intensified with every poorly constructed sentence. At least it doesn t get worse. The consistency is
nice...consistently bad. I had to give the kid points for creativity. The prompt had been to write a story with two of the characters; a mother and
child. This was certainly the most entertaining rendition. Every other story had been about an angst filled argument between a mom and her
teenage kid, but at least they had known which to to use.
I finished marking up the page and tallied up the score in accordance to the rubric I had provided. The final grade came it a solid 63%, a failing
grade. I thought back again to the creativity and effort the kid had

Hurricane Harvey Hurricane
Natural disasters have costed the government a massive amount in the past years. Hurricanes such as Katrina left people in Florida, Haiti,
Louisiana and other parts of the gulf feeling helpless. Katrina ravaged states along the coast of the gulf making it the most expensive damage
from a natural disaster, 108 billion dollars. However, in 2017, the disasters required over three hundred and ten billion dollars for repairs
(Bowden, 2017). How will this be paid for? Will the government have to cut budgets from other programs? Over five natural disasters have

Hurricane Irma crippled Puerto Rico with one of the largest blackouts in history. CNN reported last month that only twenty six percent of the
electricity in Puerto Rico had been restored since the hurricane ripped through in September (Levenson, 2017). It has been over three months
and over half of their population is lacking electricity and clean water. By the time Irma reached Florida, it regained momentum and flooded
Miami with over twenty inches of rain (Weather Channel, 2017). This resulted in a state of emergency and complete shutdown of the city.
Also, Orlando and Walt Disney World experienced some aggressive winds and thunderstorms. Wildfires engulfing California reached ten
billion dollars in repair costs. This estimated cost was shared before the fires roared into Southern California. Solutions to this continued
problem could include reserving more funds into the natural disasters budget. This would provide a safety net for the citizens of the affected

Property Right Issues And Social Rights And Private Property
As the U.S. Constitution states, clearly in the takings clause of the Fifth Amendment, nor shall private property be taken for public use without
just compensation. Property right issues and political momentum include increasing government regulation of private property, and supreme
court protections for private property are tightening. Societal goals are sometimes pursued through government restrictions on the use of
private property. Eminent domain state and local government have the authority to acquire private property for public use while taking is an
unconstitutional government appropriation of private property rights. The example that was used in class was the city of College Station vs.
Brad Pitt. The city of College Station wanted to develop Brad Pitt`s property for economic development. Brad Pitt had a property being
considered for development, so he filed claiming that the use of eminent domain as contemplated by the plan violated the state and federal
constitutions. The class was divided into two groups to debate over Property Right vs. Public Interest trying to answer the question, which of
them should win over the other?
Like one of my sources Property Right vs. Public Interest (2006) mentioned, there are so many ways that private property takes a part of to
solve problems that are the outcome of human collaboration. Private property enables the development of social services, that is, care of those
who are orphaned, handicapped or ill. It also

Cultural Changes During The Classical Civilization
History is often a term that comes up with reference to the Classical Civilization. Although, history by definition is the study of past events,
history defines and set a tone for the societies that grew and developed over time. Throughout the early struggles in time, the concept of change
brought about many problems as well as solutions. During the Classical Civilization, civilization like Rome,China, and the Greece experienced
prosperity, as a result leading to the demise of certain aspects of the society. In addition, Rome, China, and Greece impact on trade influenced
the development of the early societies with varying degrees in success.
Trade encouraged the influx in prosperity and trade in China. In other words, trade was major aspect of the early Chinese society as it made up
majority of Chinese economy. For example, the Silk Road located in China enabled for trade to happen from Asia to Europe. As stated by the
National Geographic, The Silk Road allowed for trade goods such as silk, cloth and clothing, as well as spices to spread from China to India,
Arabia, Persia, Egypt, and extended all the way to Europe. This Silk Road not only increased the trades occurring in the Ancient World but it
also allow Chinese products to permeate throughout. This trade in China and its connection to the silk road also encourage means of cultural
diffusion. Trade goods produced in China were cloth and clothing, spices, and silk as stated by National Geographic. This demonstrates

Syrian Refugees Should Be Banned
Why should I as an African American be alarmed by the Muslim Ban or welcome the Syrian Refugees into the United States? Many people
fear America only getting worse under Trump s administration, so if that was the case would these Muslim majority countries accept us African
Americans? Keep in mind that the United States is not the only country that has rejected refugees from Syria in recent years. Numerous
countries in Europe and the Middle East have refused to accept what would undoubtedly become a burden to any country. In my opinion this is
not a Muslim ban as the media like to refer to it as. There are countless factors involved and it does not simply boil down to religion. If this
order was based on religion, then the visa ban would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The UK and other wealthy nations in Europe have resettled less than 2% of Syrian refugees. Only around 5,500 Syrians had been granted
asylum or refugee status in Britain since the conflict began in 2011. The United States should not be criticized for doing what every other
country should be doing, which is looking out for our interests. Especially when other wealthy nations and even majority Muslim neighbors to
Syria refuse to accept Syrian refugees. I know this is might be an unpopular opinion or viewpoint but I was not as outraged as other African
Americans about this executive order. There is this rhetoric that I should be equally as alarmed as the groups that are being affected by this
policy. That while it may not affect me directly, somehow after targeting illegal immigrants and Muslim immigrants, African Americans are
next in line . This does not make much sense to me because in my opinion, being Black in America means we are always under attack. This has

Day Of The Dead ( Or All Hallows Eve
The end of October and beginning of November two very different yet also seemingly similar celebrations take place. Halloween (or All
Hallows Eve) is celebrated on October 31 in several countries including the USA. It has its roots in pagan celebrations for the end of the
harvest season, various festivals of the dead, and the Celtic Samhain festival. Day of the Dead (or Dia de los Muertos) is a Mexican holiday,
which is also celebrated in parts of Latin America and in the U.S., to remember and pray for family and friends who have died. It takes place
on November 1. Neither of these holidays are religious in nature, but each holds their own unique set of symbols and traditions some of which
go back hundreds of years. Both of these holidays are in place to bring the living closer to the dead and to connect the two realms.
The origin of Dia De Los Muertos can be traced back to indigenous cultures in Mexico dating back 2,500 to 3,000 years. These cultures would
hold annual rituals lasting one full month and would be purposed to celebrate, not mourn the dead. Though the reason for celebration is the
same, the length is not. Instead of celebrating for a full month, today the celebration only lasts for a few days. During these few days families
take the time to remember the deceased. The atmosphere is not somber however; it resembles more of a picnic or celebration. People visit the
graves of the deceased at their respective cemeteries and build private altars. The creation of

Compare And Contrast Tobias And Gambler
While having monumentally diversified foundations, plots, and features, there are still a few identical aspects between the pieces. Tobias is the
instructor in the Divergent but develops into the love interest. The Gambler is a stranger to the narrator of The Gambler who gives him some
advice. Tobias from Divergent and the Gambler from The Gambler poem have similarities and differences. Both characters give off an
unapproachable vibe and have experience to help the protagonist. For example, Tobias and the Gambler have a tough exterior that s difficult to
get through, but both protagonists in the stories somehow manage. Four, or Tobias, makes it seem like he s strict and unyielding when in reality

`` Pride `` By John Aquinas
When one hears the word pride , one would rarely imagine a modest person who devotes their time to volunteer work and philanthropy.
Typically, one would picture an arrogant politician or a movie star, a person so self absorbed that they almost entirely ignore the needs of those
around them. However, even the humblest acts of virtue can arise from pride as well. The story of Icarus, the boy who became entranced with
his own pride and flew too close to the sun, is told time and time again; however, there is another story of pride one hears less often, the person
who takes pride in their own humility. Rather than take pride in typical attributes such as wealth, prestige, or even appearance, these people
take pride in their modesty and virtue. In this way, pride comes from an unexpected source and is difficult to avoid since it takes occasion even
from good deeds (Aquinas 7). While the other six deadly sins present both helpful and harmful characteristics of the sin, pride is complex in
corrupting even the most well intentioned actions. At first, it would seem that humility would be the opposite of pride since it is defined as,
having a lowly opinion of oneself ( Humility ). However, there are also occasions in which a person corrupts the virtue by using it to enhance
their image and view it as an example of their own excellence. For example, although most of those volunteering at the soup kitchen want to
improve their community or provide to those less fortunate, there

Redemption In Mitch Albom s For One More Day
Redemption is a life makeover; it empowers one to take this rare opportunity to become productive and constructive in order to prove his or
her self worth. At times, it also serves as an antidote to cure one s guilt. In Mitch Albom s For One More Day, Charley is granted that
opportunity, and he chooses to spend a day with his deceased mother, who he neglected when she was still alive. He wants to express his
gratitude to his mother for her kindness and unconditional love. Furthermore, he intends to do something to absolve himself of guilt. Through
examining the conflicts and symbolism, Albom emphasizes that one must redeem oneself if given that chance. Ultimately, one is able to live
without regrets.
The conflicts of Charley suggest that he struggles to cope with his low self esteem; however, he manages to retain his dignity through
redemption. Redemption is the act to take advantage of a lost opportunity. In the beginning of the story, Charley is facing a crisis in his life. He
loses his job, and his daughter shuns him due to his poor judgments that lead to his broken marriage. Out of despair, he wants to end his life by
driving his car recklessly. In the nick of time, he says to himself, I had failed to kill myself. How pathetic is that? I headed toward my old
house, determined to finish the job (Albom 25) . Miraculously, he has gotten out of the crash unscaved. His life is a mess and he can t even do
anything. However, he redeems himself by walking all the way to his

John The Baptist
I began the research for this sermon differently than any sermon I had previously done. This was the first time I would be approaching a
dialogue sermon and while we largely agreed we would craft our own sermons and combine them from there, everything was done in
awareness that what I created would have to be something that could be added to or bounced back and forth with another topic from this text. It
was also the first Advent sermon I would be giving so there were special considerations for that as well. The text was Matthew 3:1 12 and my
first reading did not provide much encouragement. I typically associate Advent with a season of joy and happiness but after I read the text the
only thing that stood out for me was John the Baptist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It would be a fitting message as we wait for Jesus in Advent. But I began to think about my audience and how this message would work for
them. The people in the pews are an incredibly faithful bunch and the more I thought about it, the more I was uncomfortable taking this route.
As John uses the Pharisees and Sadducees to say that Jesus will save everybody, who will the Pharisees and Sadducees in the modern world as
I address my congregation? I would want to let them know that Jesus will save them all but I worried that by doing that after referencing John s
words, my congregation might think I am likening them to the Pharisees and Sadducees when I certainly would not want them to think that. I
also did not want to point to a group in our culture and say they are going to be saved as well if they seek Christ through repentance because I
did not want to single out a group that needs more saving than any other group. Calling people to repentance is not commonly done in the
Moravian Church and while I appreciate John s message that Jesus will save you as long as you repent, I did not think this could be the main
point of the sermon. In explaining John s context, the commentary mentioned that his entire ministry was spent in the wilderness and the

The Role Of Evil In Genesis
When reading Genesis, it becomes clear to the reader that the existence of evil isn t ignored. The origin of evil has a major connection with the
original sin that Adam and Eve committed when they had eaten from the tree of knowledge. Sin was very personal to Adam and Eve, but also
it was transmitted to their descendants. The serpent seems to be the agent in temptation and he was able to trick Eve into not only eating the
apple, but also sharing it with Adam. The serpent is the mythical figure that which is recognized as Satan according to the biblical traditions.1

God had recognized Abel over Cain and this had turned into jealousy and anger. Both of the brothers are well deserving of the love from God
because both of them give God offerings. The failure of recognition leads Cain to murder his brother Abel. God seems to be like a father figure
for these two boys and clearly Cain becomes jealous because God seems to recognize Abel more. Even though they both provide God with

narrative explanation of what the feelings of guilt and loneliness represent.3 I think if God had equally recognized Cain and Abel then this
story would have been very different and then it wouldn t have ended the way it did. Cain murders Able not because Cain wanted to gain God s
recognition but to simply avoid recognition by Abel.3 Clearly Cain was jealous that God wasn t giving him the attention and recognition he
thought he had deserved. Cain would rather kill Abel than to see God appreciate Abel and shun Cain. After the murder God is very
disappointed in Cain and God thought he had to punish him in some way. And now you are cursed from ground, which has opened it s mouth

American Political System Vs United States
Political systems in the world can be drastically different, or not too far off from one another. Depending on the differences of the political
system it can either make it harder or easier to compare with another country. Two countries that have comparable and contrastable political
systems are the United States and the United Kingdom. The best way to describe how the two systems are related is, the US system of
government is of course fundamentally different to that in the UK (Hazell, Chalmers and Russell 223). The structures and institutions, political

However, instead of the major political parties being called democrat and republican, the major United Kingdom political parties are called the

similarity when it comes to the election process of the House of Commons. In the election process for both countries, each house is made up of
representatives elected by the people (Beach) . This means each member of the House of Commons is elected by the British voters. However,
the election process of the executives is where the United States and the United Kingdom differ. In the U.S. the head of government is elected

The story of Sophocles Oedipus Rex helped Freud to help illustrate his theory to the public. In this story, Oedipus kills his father and marries
his mother Slay my father and he dies... fear not that marriage with thy mother (Oedipus Rex, lines 1000 1013). According to Freud, all male
children form an attraction for their mother around ages 3 5 during the phallic stage of development,. Eventually they learn to repress their
sexual desires for their mother because the fearing of being castrated by their father (threats son s masculinity). However, if the boy doesn t

past childhood into adulthood; this makes it very difficult for him to form relationships with other people especially women. In other words,
the child will never grow out of this and he will be dysfunctional in adulthood. In 1910, Ernest Jones published Hamlet and Oedipus this was

in your local courthouse is your only venture outdoors. You do not need any type of license to do this type of work. What exactly is JUDICIAL
JUDGMENT RECOVERY? First let s call it JJR for short. Then let s break it down one word at a time. 2
A) JUDICIAL means (in this case) a legal court of law . B) JUDGMENT means the determination of the court , a legal obligation as
determined by the judge. C) RECOVERY means the act of becoming lost). If you know what a court order is then you already have a good
idea. A court order is pretty much a judicial judgment in that they both mean, in essence, As Ordered By The Court . So what does it mean to
us? It means that when one person (the plaintiff), sues another person (the defendant), in small claims court, and wins, it s because the court
ordered the defendant, now known as the judgment debtor, to pay the plaintiff, usually, a said dollar amount. So now the plaintiff is awarded a
piece of paper proclaiming them a judgment winner. But are they really the winner? The easy part was winning the case. Now comes the
difficult part, and that is getting the judgment debtor to actually pay up. You see, the court cannot collect the money for the judgment winners.
It is actually up to the judgment winners to collect their own judgments. But with no pressure to

The Reflection Of The Sugar Cubes
Once upon a time, there was a sugar cube. One day it caught a glimpse of itself in a silver teaspoon. After seeing it s reflection, it became very
curious about itself and began to wonder about existence and it s purpose in life. The little piece of sugar thought for a long time about how to
find the answer. It looked to the bowl that had held it and kept it safe all it s life. Who better to pose this question to? So it called out to the
sugar bowl. Sugar bowl, what am I? The sugar bowl replied You are a square piece of sweetener. You have a limited time until you become
stale and crumble into dust. Learn how to sweeten, that is your only purpose in this life. So the sugar cube practiced being sweet and became
so sparkly with sweetness you could almost see a light glowing inside the cube. Becoming sparkly was helping the other cubes that shared the
sugar bowl. The sparkly cube always had positive words for the other cubes and encouraged them to become as sweet as they could. The cube
knew it was a duty to serve the bowl of cubes and was humble in doing so. It was careful about not doing harm even when some of them
blamed the sparkly cube. Even when it knew about this negative talk, the cube saw everything in itself and itself in everything so wanted for
each cube what it wanted for itself. The sparkly cube was the same inwardly as it was outwardly. Once you knew the sparkly cube, you knew it
was for real. You could trust it because its words always reflected its actions.

Advantages Of A Model Contract
Model Contract
A model contract can be described as an agreement between the parties which are data exporter and the data importer, which covers lot of
important aspects for not only to communicators but also to data transport. This means that the relevant company in the United States must
have a contract or some kind of an agreement for each and every country to which it sends and receives data. Usually model contracts tend to
be better suited for small and medium sized enterprises that do not have very large employee base or partners in many countries. But if it is a
larger company that may have employees or partners in different countries, standard contracts are not going to be that much helpful in practical
a situation. In large companies, model contracts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

How Has The Industrial Revolution Changed The World
It would be hard for some to believe there was a time that taking a train ride was the best way to get around the country. Or even a time when
mass production meant your mother made a enough cookies to last more then one night. The Industrial Revolution changed the world and even
though we are in a time where trains are only used for local transportation and it is unusual for a household to not have a car. There was time
when that was not the case. The Industrial Revolution brought about a higher volume and variety of factory produced goods and elevated the

The Happy Accidents Of The Swing Analysis

his forbidden love in a painting and Jean Honore Fragonard was the only artist of the time to agree to this request. Jean Honore Fragonard s
The Swing also known as The Happy Accidents of the Swing is a stupendous example of the Rococo era because of how dainty and light it
was which is ironic because of its adulterous themes. How Fragonard portrayed St. Juliens vision made men of the Enlightenment
uncomfortable and enraged with the artwork because it made men look immoral and foolish.
Jean Honore Fragonard s claim to fame was The Swing, but who was he before he became prominent in the art community? He was born in
Southern France, but as a child, him and his family moved to Paris. In Paris, he first started out as a clerk but soon garnered an interest in art
and promptly switched over to a career in art. Specifically, he worked in the studio of Jean Siméon Chardin, where he most likely learned the
basic properties of art, and later became the apprentice of François Boucher, where he learned the Rococo style.1 However, before he could
become the apprentice of Boucher, Fragonard studied more advanced techniques in Italy and France because Boucher saw potential in him, but
did not want someone who was so inexperienced under his wing. Later, Fragonard entered into a Prix de Rome competition in 1752 and won

Similarities Between Hersey And Kawamoto
Both Hersey and Kawamoto explain the bombing of Japan through their uses of different rhetorical devices as they portray the effects of the
bomb and why it cannot happen again. Hersey uses an emotional appeal to show how behind the corrupt government and armies are normal
citizens who are blameless and equally as affected by war. Hersey portrays the victims as normal people with the same problems as anyone
else. For example, he talks about Mrs. Nakamura who is a widow whose love for her children causes her to stay at home. She is equally as
affected by the bomb as shown in the book. This creates an emotional pull from the readers because Hersey shows how the bombs affected
civilians who had nothing to do with the war and had to suffer through the disaster. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nakamura who has struggled to get through life and to show them how these people are forever changed by this day. On the other hand,
Kawamoto uses imagery to show the effects of the bomb. For instance, he gives detailed descriptions of the suffering of many people. This
quote about his classmate emphasizes the condition of victims who were on the verge of death. The descriptions are terrifying, displaying an
accurate image of the horrible states the victims were in. Kawamoto s use of imagery is very effective in showing the lives that were taken in
the devastation. However, Hersey s strategy is more effective because his audience got to experience the pain of these survivors a year
following the bombing, which must have had a greater impact than an testimony published forty years following the bombing. Although John
Hersey and Yoshitaka Kawamoto uses different rhetorical devices, they still have the same purpose which is to show how the atomic bombs

coconut oil. Some do have a few concerns when it comes to oil pulling, like if your fillings will loosen up and fall out. Of course if this were to

The Equal Opportunity Within A Work Place, The Pregnancy...
Introduction
Before we dive into this topic of human resources, let s define it. Human Resource can be defined as the division of the company that is
focused on activities relating to employees. These activities normally include recruiting and hiring new employees, orientation and training
current employees, employee benefits, and retention. Throughout this paper I will discuss the Equal Opportunity within a work place, the
Pregnancy Discrimination Act, Privacy Polices within a work place, and Sexual Harassment within a workplace.
Equal Opportunity Laws
Title VII
The first aspect of Human Resource that will be addressed is equal opportunity and the laws that provide for it. There were several equal
opportunity laws enacted from 1964 to 1991. The first of these was Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act which states that an employer cannot
discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, or national original with respect to employment (Dessler, 2013). Title VII applies to
employers with 15 or more employees, including state and local governments. It also applies to employment agencies and to labor
organizations, as well as to the federal government.
Title VII also prohibits employment decisions based on stereotypes and assumptions about abilities, traits, or the performance of individuals of
certain racial groups. According to Society for Human Resource Management, it states that, possible criminal practices include soliciting
applications only from sources in

The emotions leaders display can have a great effect on their ability to influence and lead followers (Forsyth, 2014). However, the
interpretation of emotions by followers is relatively subjective and there may be many variables. In two studies, Caza, Zhang, Wang, and Bai
(2015) researched the reactions of followers to their leader s emotion, for gaining a better understanding of the reactions to perceived sincere
emotions displayed by leaders. The level of trust followers have for leaders who demonstrate emotions is the focus throughout the studies. This

Summarizing the results of the study, the authors recommendation is for leaders to use caution when regulating their emotions, ensuring that
when emotions are displayed, they are sincere.
Evaluation
The conclusions drawn from the research can assist with leader success; however, as acknowledged by the authors, the results of their study are
limited since there are many facets of this topic worthy of further explanation. For instance, the followers who participated in the study used
self report instruments, with researchers relying on their honesty. It may be possible, when self reporting for the emotional state of the follower
to influence the results. Additionally, individuals have the capacity to display a wide range of emotions, although differences in follower
reactions to a variety of emotions shared by leaders was not covered in this study. Since this is not covered in the study, it is unclear how a
follower s reaction would change between a display of confidence or vulnerability. Along these line, the intensity or perceived intensity of a
leader s emotions is also not studied. However, there were many variables considered in the study, including follower age, follower gender,
follower work experience, follower tenure with manager, and leader gender; all which increased the validity of the results. Two different
cultures were used for the study which helped to minimize the cultural influence one culture may have over the results. While gender was

Oroonoko Rhetorical Analysis
Oroonoko: The Savior and Dismemberment The long narrative of Oroonoko is that of an Africa Prince and his beloved. Both of them were
sold into slavery by the British and are brought to Surinam. Imoinda was sold into slavery first by Oroonoko s grandfather. Oroonoko was
tricked by a royal guest and then sold to Trefry. This owner befriended Oroonoko and it shows compassion, purity, and persuasiveness on both
Oroonoko s part and on Trefry s. This is where Oroonoko has his name changed to Caesar as was custom with slaves. It is a practice that
further removes them from their homeland and severs any ties to their identity with their families. He then becomes, who many believe, a hero

Surely throughout his own torture, Jesus Christ also endured his own breaking point. Nonetheless, they both held strong for a time to get their

did not see the importance of the death. After the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, the Jews were still under the rule of the Roman Government.
Likewise, the slaves were not saved the dismemberment of Oroonoko. The story of Jesus, however, did eventually change the course of history

When there are weapons, there is also armor. Knights wore a chainmail called the hauberk and according to Hilliam, the hauberk was extended
to include iron sleeves, mittens, and a hood (19). In addition, knights also needed better methods to protect a vulnerable area, the head. The
great helm had been introduced by the thirteenth century and it covered the head and the face with extra protection (Hilliam 19). It wasn t too
long until the great helm was replaced by the bascinet. It was similar to the great helm although it was a more closely fitted 5 Tran helmet with
rounded surfaces to deflect blows. A removable or hinged visor was fitted to make breathing easier, and padding was riveted for additional
comfort (Hilliam 20). By the middle of the fourteenth century, the chainmail was basically abandoned and plate armor was much more desired.
It had glancing surfaces and it protected knights from arrows far better than the mail (Hilliam 32). But over time, knights seek more extensive
armor and simultaneously, bigger horses were needed in order to carry the weight and bigger lances made from tree trunks (Hilliam 17).
However, blacksmiths kept placing their focus into creating more developed plate armor and as plate armor did develop, Hilliam says that, it
was less effective to slash an opponent and so knights tried to thrust through chinks

Child Protection Within The Wider Concept Of Safeguarding...

The definition of child protection is the process of protecting individual children identified as either suffering, or likely to suffer, significant

Difference Between Self-Esteem And Self Esteem
When individuals compare themselves to others, generally, people tend to use upward comparison through the idea that one day they will
become that ideal image. This could mean in wealth, health, happiness, etc. When comparing to others, many people feel inadequate and their
self esteem suffers for it. If someone cannot reach what they aspire to be, especially when comparing themselves to others who have
accomplished these goals, their self esteem is generally lower than average. Studying this topic allows insight into how others affect an
individual s self esteem when they are compared and the differences that can affect the social comparison. This importance is to determine
what features and aspects of life are causing lower self esteem in individuals that use upward social comparison and how these affects can be
different for everyone. The intent of this study is to correlate whether people feel better or worse about themselves through upward social
comparison to general role models. This is important because role models can have a peculiar impact on someone s self esteem, depending on
how that role model behaves. In previous studies, the documentation on upward social comparison displays how different aspects can affect
how an individual may see themselves as lesser. Roy F. Baumeister discusses in Self Esteem: The Puzzle of Low Self Esteem, in social
comparison situations, people may sometimes make upward comparisons, presumably to gain more information about a task, or

Location: The band is from London, England.
Band Members: The Rolling Stones consist of 4 band members. The current line up is Mick Jagger (lead singer), Keith Richards (guitarist),
Charlie Watts (drummer), and Ronnie Woods (guitarist).
Bio:
The Rolling Stones is considered one of the biggest name in rock history next to The Beatles and Elvis Presley. Back when the band first
started, they did not want to be recognize as a rock and roll band. Instead, they wanted to be more of a blues style rock band, which later
known as blue based rock band. The Rolling Stones was one of the few ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though the song was about death and depression, the Rolling Stones made it a great rock song that showed their creativity and that they
were an unpredictable group who could grow with the time era. Paint It, Black by the Rolling Stone was a song in which the they did
experiments of sounds on. The song s form is not like a traditional song outline. It goes by the song form of Chorus/Verse 1/Verse
2/Bridge/Chorus/Outro. The instruments used in this song are 2 guitars, drums, tambourines, and a sitar. Sitar is an Indian string instrument
that is like a guitar. The addition of the sitar in this song made was what made it an experimental song. When I listened to this song, in the
beginning, I heard the sitar playing solo before any words were sung. Then the drums come in with this nice upbeat rhythm and tempo that
made it more of a rock song. In addition, every time when Mick Jagger, said painted black in this song, he adds this emphasis to the word
black of saying it for a longer duration than other words. This helped create that dark mood of the song and added an extra texture to the song.
Towards the end of the song like the outro part before the instrumental, there was this short piece of the sitar playing and it helped create this
creepy but unique sound. Then it was

Theory of Capital Structure
Theory of Capital Structure A Review
Stein Frydenberg£ April 29, 2004
ABSTRACT This paper is a review of the central theoretical literature. The most important arguments for what could determine capital
structure is the pecking order theory and the static trade off theory. These two theories are reviewed, but neither of them provides a complete
description of the situation and why some firms prefer equity and others debt under different circumstances. The paper is ended by a summary
where the option price paradigm is proposed as a comprehensible model that can augment most partial arguments. The capital structure and
corporate finance literature is filled with different models, but few, if any give a complete picture.

The theoretical models of capital structure in a world in which capital markets are not perfect relates capital structure to several measurable
and nonmeasurable attributes of a firm. The irrelevance proposition provides conditions under which the capital structure of a firm is irrelevant
to total firm value. Turning the irrelevance proposition around, the proposition also tells us which factors that may be the causes of corporate
capital structure. The assumptions giving irrelevance as a result may cause relevance if they are broken. The question is, do they, and if so to
what extent? And what if several imperfections exist simultaneously? Besides the irrelevance hypothesis of Modigliani and Miller there are
several other theories relevant to capital structure. These are the asset substitution hypothesis, under investment hypothesis, the free cash flow
hypothesis, the signaling hypothesis and product markets arguments. 3
.1. Value Additive Model of Capital Structure State preference models have been used extensively in the finance literature as a general
framework for explanation of the irrelevance hypothesis. Both Lewellen and Mauer (1988), Kraus and Litzenberger (1973), Stiglitz (1969) and
Hirshleifer (1966) have used this approach.
The MM Proposition 1 Assume perfect capital markets and no taxes on corporate income. An equilibrium in the capital market requires that the

How Did Ww2 Affect The Japanese Economy
Burn all, kill all, and steal all. One sentence, an policy, Chinese were suffered a deadly persecution by Japanese during WWII. Himeta
Mitsuyoshi, who was a historian estimated that more than 2.7 million Chinese were killed in Hirohito s three alls policy since December 2,
1938. Even more than seventy years past since WWII ended, the damage and loss of life caused by the war for both China and Japan will never
be forgotten (Beck).
Since the late 19th century, China and Japan kept clashing constantly. On July 7, 1937, a warfare had broken out at the Marco Polo Bridge, and
most historians regarded this incident as the beginning of the Second Sino Japanese War. Short after that, Shanghai and Nanjing, two main

From 1952 to 1971, their GDP growth in a average is nine point six percent per year. From 1972 to 1991, the economic growth still average
annual growth rate of four percent per year. There were many reasons caused this phenomenon, which were including the starting point of
Japanese economy. The second world war destroyed the Japanese economy, killed millions of people, destroyed the 40 percent of the Japan s
capital stock. Capital return rate was very high, so people had very strong and the investment and accumulation of more capital, it will
naturally increase the growth rate of the economy. Second, Japan s high rate of investment and capital accumulation through the domestic
savings rate, thus made the country s economic growth (Powell).
All in all, the war led China fall into the bottom and full of hatred between nations. Due to the impact of World War II, not only for Chinese or
Japan, but the whole world. World War II has made the world go backward. At the same time, countries have realized the danger of war. So
there is a certain effect on the present peace. In addition to the war victory and defeat, more is broken up. In this world, if we can keep a clean

Michaelis-Menten Kinetics
Introduction:
Enzymes are biological macromolecule that acts as catalyst and speed up reaction by lowering the activation energy of the chemical reaction
without altering the thermodynamic of reaction (study.com). However, the enzymes are not consumed in the reaction and they will regenerate
(study.com). According to rsc.org, enzymes have an active site. The reacting molecule that binds to enzyme is called the substrate (rsc.org).
Enzymes catalyze reactions by interacting with the substrate and the subsequent transition state. These interactions release energy and therefore
stabilize the transition state, which ultimately lowers the activation energy of the reaction (rsc.org).
The purpose of this lab is to measure how an enzyme responds to the presence of an inhibitor in various concentrations, and identify what type
of inhibitor that involved. In this lab, we used the Michaelis Menten Kinetic, which proposed by two scientists Leonor Michael and Maud
Leonora Menten for enzymatic dynamics. The model explains how reaction rate depends on the concentration of substrate and enzyme
(chemwiki.ucdavis.edu). In the reaction of an enzyme catalyzed, the enzyme interacts with the substrate by binding to its active site to form the
enzyme substrate complex, ES. The reaction is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Km is the Michaelis constant. It is the substrate concentration at which the reaction velocity is half of the Vmax. [S] is the concentration of the
substrate (Washington.edu). From the Michaelis Menten Kinetic equation, we have many different ways to find Km and Vmax such as
Lineweaver Burk plot, Hanes Woolf plot, etc. However, this lab used the Lineweaver Burk plot. By taking the reciprocal of the Michaelis
Menten Kinetics equation, we can obtain the Lineweaver Burk double reciprocal plot, which is a linear line (chemwiki.ucdavis.edu). This
provides more precise way to determine Vmax and

The Environmental And Societal Impact Of Waste Management...
Introduction
Emerging understanding of the environmental and societal impact of waste management has led to a significant development of municipally
lead practices under the model of sustainable resource management (Cimpan, 2015). Recycling the recovery of the material value in waste
provides opportunities for both economic and environmental sustainability by reducing fuels usage, carbon dioxide emissions, and the quantity
of waste sent to landfills. The United States Environmental Protection Agency has identified that one year of recycled material translates to a
reduction of 186 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions, and 40% of the material waste that annually ends up in US landfills are products
that could have been recycled (Trudel). Decreasing landfill space and increasing urban waste generation require the implementation of both an
effective and efficient recycling system, as recycling is a costly waste management strategy for municipalities (Lakhan, 2015). Single stream
sorting and dual stream sorting programs are popular policy responses to municipal managing of recyclables. There are several context specific
factors that impact the efficiency and effectiveness of both sorting systems that must be considered by municipalities when deciding which
system to implement.
Choosing to Recycle
According to the waste hierarchy, source reduction and reuse are far more sustainable waste management practices than recycling, but it can be
extremely difficult to implement

Data Mining Fundamentals
Data Mining
DM Defined Is the analysis of (often large) observational data sets to find unsuspected relationships and to summarize the data in novel ways
that are both understandable and useful to the data owner
Process of analyzing data from different perspectives and summarizing it into useful information
A class of database applications that look for hidden patterns in a group of data that can be used to predict future behavior.
DM Defined The relationships and summaries derived are referred to as models or patterns. Examples include linear equations, rules, clusters,
graphs, tree structures and recurrent patterns in time series.
Utilizes observational data as opposed to experimental data. Data that have already ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Analyze the data by application software.
Present the data in a useful format, such as a graph or table.
Seeking relationships
The process should aim at accurate, convenient and useful summaries.
The steps are as follows:
Determine the nature and structure of the representation to be used
Decide how to quantify and compare how well different representations fit the data (choosing the score function)
Choose an algorithmic process to optimize the score function
Decide what principles of data management are required to implement the algorithm efficiently.
Seeking relationships: example In simple regression, one can build a predictive model to relate the predictor variable, X to a response variable
Y through a relationship Y = aX + b. e.g. we might build a model which would allow us to predict a persona s annual credit card spending
given their annual income. Not perfect but good for a rough characterization.
Step wise:
The representation is a model in which the response variable, spending, is linearly related to the predictor variable, income.
The score function: the sum of squared discrepancies between predicted spending and observed spending in group of people described by the
data
The optimization algorithm is quite simple: a and b are expressed as explicit functions of the observed values of spending and income
Unless the data set is

  • 2. The Finches From The Galapagos Island Change is the key factor in a species survival, whether that change, is being minimal or extremely dramatic, and without change a species have condemned itself to extinction. Animals have learned to adapt to their surroundings in order to survive, and with these adaptation people can witness new breeds added to the spectrum and see them flourish. Breeds can be defined as a stock of animals or plants within a species having a distinctive appearance and typically having been developed by deliberate selection. For example the finches from the Galapagos Island s they are all finches, but they all differed in their appearance, some had smaller others had larger beaks. Charles Darwin studied these Finches and came to discover that the Finches differed in appearance because they had adapted to their environment. The Galápagos finches provide an excellent example of this process. Among the birds that ended up in arid environments, the ones with beaks better suited for eating cactus obtained supplementary food. As a result, they were in healthier condition to mate. Similarly, those with beak shapes that were well suited in getting nectar from flowers or eating thicker shielded seeds in other environments were at an advantage there. In a very real sense, nature selected the best adapted varieties to survive and to reproduce. With his findings throughout the years Darwin formulated his theory of evolution by natural selection, and published his first book entitled, On the Origin ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Ephesians 4 Throughout human history, our ancestors lived out the Christian faith in their generation. As a result, the faith passed down into their children s generations, continuously reaching today s generation. Then, our society changed from a primitive society to a modern society. With the invention of technology, it creates a new direction towards spreading the Gospel. While our ancestors spoke and wrote Gospel in church, my generation use technology to share the Gospel on social media and Bible apps. With the different styles of preaching the Gospel, how can we unite our generations to pursuit God s purpose? We may not know our gifts when our time on Earth is ended; however, it does not mean that we passively pray for God to show us without making the change. It is an honor as saints of God to have the responsibilities to teach the Gospel to the world. Now that my ancestors, grandparents, and parents have lived out their lives, it is my turn to carry the torch. Whether we know our gift or not, we must continue living for God. As a result, false teachings and deceptive people cannot separate the unity of God s Church on Earth nor shake our faith (Ephesians 4:13 14). We must mature to avoid destruction. I stretched my arms out behind me and blinked my eyes hard, trying to re wet them. This assignment was turning into the bane of my existence, and I was only two paragraphs deep. I had made a deal with myself, no more than four hours of grading on the weekends. So much for that. I looked across my desk at the pen holder/old mug and grabbed a new red pen. My current one was only half full of ink and this short story was going to need a novels share of red. I started marking away, and soon the page was thoroughly doused in red ink. I pushed the paper to the side and reached into my top drawer for my bottle of Advil, eager to make the throbbing in my temples subside. Don t take pills on an empty stomach. The last thing I needed was nausea on top of everything. I pulled out my bottom desk drawer, the secret snack drawer, and pushed the old chip bags and empty candy wrappers aside, searching for something to nibble on. Yummy, a half eaten granola bar and mystery Tupperware. I took my chances with the granola bar, deciding against the food poisoning that would come with week contents of the mystery Tupperware. After cramming the stale granola bar into my mouth I pulled the wrinkled pages of the essay back in front of me. The throbbing in my head intensified with every poorly constructed sentence. At least it doesn t get worse. The consistency is nice...consistently bad. I had to give the kid points for creativity. The prompt had been to write a story with two of the characters; a mother and child. This was certainly the most entertaining rendition. Every other story had been about an angst filled argument between a mom and her teenage kid, but at least they had known which to to use. I finished marking up the page and tallied up the score in accordance to the rubric I had provided. The final grade came it a solid 63%, a failing grade. Property Right Issues And Social Rights And Private Property As the U.S. Constitution states, clearly in the takings clause of the Fifth Amendment, nor shall private property be taken for public use without just compensation. Property right issues and political momentum include increasing government regulation of private property, and supreme court protections for private property are tightening. Societal goals are sometimes pursued through government restrictions on the use of private property. Eminent domain state and local government have the authority to acquire private property for public use while taking is an unconstitutional government appropriation of private property rights. The example that was used in class was the city of College Station vs. Brad Pitt. The city of College Station wanted to develop Brad Pitt`s property for economic development. Brad Pitt had a property being considered for development, so he filed claiming that the use of eminent domain as contemplated by the plan violated the state and federal constitutions. • 11. Day Of The Dead ( Or All Hallows Eve The end of October and beginning of November two very different yet also seemingly similar celebrations take place. Halloween (or All Hallows Eve) is celebrated on October 31 in several countries including the USA. It has its roots in pagan celebrations for the end of the harvest season, various festivals of the dead, and the Celtic Samhain festival. Day of the Dead (or Dia de los Muertos) is a Mexican holiday, which is also celebrated in parts of Latin America and in the U.S., to remember and pray for family and friends who have died. It takes place on November 1. Neither of these holidays are religious in nature, but each holds their own unique set of symbols and traditions some of which go back hundreds of years. Both of these holidays are in place to bring the living closer to the dead and to connect the two realms. The origin of Dia De Los Muertos can be traced back to indigenous cultures in Mexico dating back 2,500 to 3,000 years. These cultures would hold annual rituals lasting one full month and would be purposed to celebrate, not mourn the dead. Though the reason for celebration is the same, the length is not. Instead of celebrating for a full month, today the celebration only lasts for a few days. During these few days families take the time to remember the deceased. The atmosphere is not somber however; it resembles more of a picnic or celebration. People visit the graves of the deceased at their respective cemeteries and build private altars. • 13. `` Pride `` By John Aquinas When one hears the word pride , one would rarely imagine a modest person who devotes their time to volunteer work and philanthropy. Typically, one would picture an arrogant politician or a movie star, a person so self absorbed that they almost entirely ignore the needs of those around them. However, even the humblest acts of virtue can arise from pride as well. The story of Icarus, the boy who became entranced with his own pride and flew too close to the sun, is told time and time again; however, there is another story of pride one hears less often, the person who takes pride in their own humility. Rather than take pride in typical attributes such as wealth, prestige, or even appearance, these people take pride in their modesty and virtue. In this way, pride comes from an unexpected source and is difficult to avoid since it takes occasion even from good deeds (Aquinas 7). While the other six deadly sins present both helpful and harmful characteristics of the sin, pride is complex in corrupting even the most well intentioned actions. At first, it would seem that humility would be the opposite of pride since it is defined as, having a lowly opinion of oneself ( Humility ). However, there are also occasions in which a person corrupts the virtue by using it to enhance their image and view it as an example of their own excellence. For example, although most of those volunteering at the soup kitchen want to improve their community or provide to those less fortunate, there ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. Redemption In Mitch Albom s For One More Day Redemption is a life makeover; it empowers one to take this rare opportunity to become productive and constructive in order to prove his or her self worth. At times, it also serves as an antidote to cure one s guilt. In Mitch Albom s For One More Day, Charley is granted that opportunity, and he chooses to spend a day with his deceased mother, who he neglected when she was still alive. He wants to express his gratitude to his mother for her kindness and unconditional love. Furthermore, he intends to do something to absolve himself of guilt. Through examining the conflicts and symbolism, Albom emphasizes that one must redeem oneself if given that chance. Ultimately, one is able to live without regrets. The conflicts of Charley suggest that he struggles to cope with his low self esteem; however, he manages to retain his dignity through redemption. Redemption is the act to take advantage of a lost opportunity. In the beginning of the story, Charley is facing a crisis in his life. He loses his job, and his daughter shuns him due to his poor judgments that lead to his broken marriage. Out of despair, he wants to end his life by driving his car recklessly. In the nick of time, he says to himself, I had failed to kill myself. How pathetic is that? I headed toward my old house, determined to finish the job (Albom 25) . This was the first time I would be approaching a dialogue sermon and while we largely agreed we would craft our own sermons and combine them from there, everything was done in awareness that what I created would have to be something that could be added to or bounced back and forth with another topic from this text. It was also the first Advent sermon I would be giving so there were special considerations for that as well. The text was Matthew 3:1 12 and my first reading did not provide much encouragement. As John uses the Pharisees and Sadducees to say that Jesus will save everybody, who will the Pharisees and Sadducees in the modern world as I address my congregation? I would want to let them know that Jesus will save them all but I worried that by doing that after referencing John s words, my congregation might think I am likening them to the Pharisees and Sadducees when I certainly would not want them to think that. I also did not want to point to a group in our culture and say they are going to be saved as well if they seek Christ through repentance because I did not want to single out a group that needs more saving than any other group. Calling people to repentance is not commonly done in the Moravian Church and while I appreciate John s message that Jesus will save you as long as you repent, I did not think this could be the main point of the sermon. B) JUDGMENT means the determination of the court , a legal obligation as determined by the judge. C) RECOVERY means the act of becoming lost). If you know what a court order is then you already have a good idea. A court order is pretty much a judicial judgment in that they both mean, in essence, As Ordered By The Court . So what does it mean to us? It means that when one person (the plaintiff), sues another person (the defendant), in small claims court, and wins, it s because the court ordered the defendant, now known as the judgment debtor, to pay the plaintiff, usually, a said dollar amount. So now the plaintiff is awarded a piece of paper proclaiming them a judgment winner. But are they really the winner? The easy part was winning the case. The Happy Accidents Of The Swing Analysis Some men would never commission a painting to idolize their mistress, however Baron de St. Julien felt as though he needed to immortalize his forbidden love in a painting and Jean Honore Fragonard was the only artist of the time to agree to this request. Jean Honore Fragonard s The Swing also known as The Happy Accidents of the Swing is a stupendous example of the Rococo era because of how dainty and light it was which is ironic because of its adulterous themes. How Fragonard portrayed St. Juliens vision made men of the Enlightenment uncomfortable and enraged with the artwork because it made men look immoral and foolish. Jean Honore Fragonard s claim to fame was The Swing, but who was he before he became prominent in the art community? He was born in Southern France, but as a child, him and his family moved to Paris. In Paris, he first started out as a clerk but soon garnered an interest in art and promptly switched over to a career in art. Specifically, he worked in the studio of Jean Siméon Chardin, where he most likely learned the basic properties of art, and later became the apprentice of François Boucher, where he learned the Rococo style.1 However, before he could become the apprentice of Boucher, Fragonard studied more advanced techniques in Italy and France because Boucher saw potential in him, but did not want someone who was so inexperienced under his wing. The descriptions are terrifying, displaying an accurate image of the horrible states the victims were in. Difference Between Self-Esteem And Self Esteem When individuals compare themselves to others, generally, people tend to use upward comparison through the idea that one day they will become that ideal image. This could mean in wealth, health, happiness, etc. When comparing to others, many people feel inadequate and their self esteem suffers for it. If someone cannot reach what they aspire to be, especially when comparing themselves to others who have accomplished these goals, their self esteem is generally lower than average. Studying this topic allows insight into how others affect an individual s self esteem when they are compared and the differences that can affect the social comparison. This importance is to determine what features and aspects of life are causing lower self esteem in individuals that use upward social comparison and how these affects can be different for everyone. The intent of this study is to correlate whether people feel better or worse about themselves through upward social comparison to general role models. This is important because role models can have a peculiar impact on someone s self esteem, depending on how that role model behaves. It is influenced by four major factors, such as industrialization in the cities, increase in traffic, rapid economic development, and higher level of energy consumption. The growth of both an industrial and residential area is unplanned in many developing cities of India, thus, it contributing to the air pollution problems. In urban areas, the mobile or vehicular population is predominant and significantly contributes to air quality problems. In recent past, air pollutants, responsible for vegetation injury and crop yield losses, are causing increased concern. Air pollution is one of the serious problems in the world, its facing today. It deteriorates ecological condition and can be defined as the fluctuation in any atmospheric constituent from the value that would have existed without human activity .It has been observed that plants particularly growing in the urban areas affected greatly due to varieties of pollutants (oxides of nitrogen and sulphur, hydrocarbon, ozone, particulate matters, hydrogen fluoride, peroxyacyl nitrates (PAN) etc.) .Chlorophyll is found ... What strategic alliances (including suppliers and market channels) has Xiaomi established in China? What role do strategic alliances play in Xiaomi s international expansion? Xiao Mi came up with a very well thought plan of a vast wide array of suppliers and market channels. China was a retail dominated mobile device market. Any mobile phone manufacturer could choose whether or not to get a space in retail store and sell phones to the public. Xiaomi had decided to use online selling as their primary means of distibution on the purpose of lowering sales costs and its products prices which proved to be a success in its domestic market(China). They established partnerships with different suppliers that enabled them to cut cost and also opened the door for a wide array of developing products which is more commonly called the internet of things, their goal is to have different household devices to be controlled by their brand of smartphone. For their market channels, it is so interesting that they relied more on word of mouth which led their marketing only 3% of their budget. Strategic alliances played a big part in Xiaomi s plan for expansion it enabled them to lower their cost particularly in India and they were also able to establish some relationship even though they have some challenges they were able to go past through it and establish themselves in the local ... Even though the song was about death and depression, the Rolling Stones made it a great rock song that showed their creativity and that they were an unpredictable group who could grow with the time era. Paint It, Black by the Rolling Stone was a song in which the they did experiments of sounds on. The song s form is not like a traditional song outline. It goes by the song form of Chorus/Verse 1/Verse 2/Bridge/Chorus/Outro. The instruments used in this song are 2 guitars, drums, tambourines, and a sitar. Sitar is an Indian string instrument that is like a guitar. The addition of the sitar in this song made was what made it an experimental song. When I listened to this song, in the beginning, I heard the sitar playing solo before any words were sung. Then the drums come in with this nice upbeat rhythm and tempo that made it more of a rock song. In addition, every time when Mick Jagger, said painted black in this song, he adds this emphasis to the word black of saying it for a longer duration than other words. This helped create that dark mood of the song and added an extra texture to the song. Towards the end of the song like the outro part before the instrumental, there was this short piece of the sitar playing and it helped create this creepy but unique sound. Then it was ... • 44. Theory of Capital Structure Theory of Capital Structure A Review Stein Frydenberg£ April 29, 2004 ABSTRACT This paper is a review of the central theoretical literature. The most important arguments for what could determine capital structure is the pecking order theory and the static trade off theory. These two theories are reviewed, but neither of them provides a complete description of the situation and why some firms prefer equity and others debt under different circumstances. The paper is ended by a summary where the option price paradigm is proposed as a comprehensible model that can augment most partial arguments. The capital structure and corporate finance literature is filled with different models, but few, if any give a complete picture. JEL ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The theoretical models of capital structure in a world in which capital markets are not perfect relates capital structure to several measurable and nonmeasurable attributes of a firm. The irrelevance proposition provides conditions under which the capital structure of a firm is irrelevant to total firm value. Turning the irrelevance proposition around, the proposition also tells us which factors that may be the causes of corporate capital structure. The assumptions giving irrelevance as a result may cause relevance if they are broken. The question is, do they, and if so to what extent? And what if several imperfections exist simultaneously? Besides the irrelevance hypothesis of Modigliani and Miller there are several other theories relevant to capital structure. These are the asset substitution hypothesis, under investment hypothesis, the free cash flow hypothesis, the signaling hypothesis and product markets arguments. 3 .1. Value Additive Model of Capital Structure State preference models have been used extensively in the finance literature as a general framework for explanation of the irrelevance hypothesis. Both Lewellen and Mauer (1988), Kraus and Litzenberger (1973), Stiglitz (1969) and Hirshleifer (1966) have used this approach. The MM Proposition 1 Assume perfect capital markets and no taxes on corporate income. An equilibrium in the capital market requires that the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 46. Michaelis-Menten Kinetics Introduction: Enzymes are biological macromolecule that acts as catalyst and speed up reaction by lowering the activation energy of the chemical reaction without altering the thermodynamic of reaction (study.com). However, the enzymes are not consumed in the reaction and they will regenerate (study.com). According to rsc.org, enzymes have an active site. The reacting molecule that binds to enzyme is called the substrate (rsc.org). Enzymes catalyze reactions by interacting with the substrate and the subsequent transition state. These interactions release energy and therefore stabilize the transition state, which ultimately lowers the activation energy of the reaction (rsc.org). The purpose of this lab is to measure how an enzyme responds to the presence of an inhibitor in various concentrations, and identify what type of inhibitor that involved. In this lab, we used the Michaelis Menten Kinetic, which proposed by two scientists Leonor Michael and Maud Leonora Menten for enzymatic dynamics. The model explains how reaction rate depends on the concentration of substrate and enzyme (chemwiki.ucdavis.edu). In the reaction of an enzyme catalyzed, the enzyme interacts with the substrate by binding to its active site to form the enzyme substrate complex, ES. The reaction is ... • 47. The Environmental And Societal Impact Of Waste Management... Introduction Emerging understanding of the environmental and societal impact of waste management has led to a significant development of municipally lead practices under the model of sustainable resource management (Cimpan, 2015). Recycling the recovery of the material value in waste provides opportunities for both economic and environmental sustainability by reducing fuels usage, carbon dioxide emissions, and the quantity of waste sent to landfills. The United States Environmental Protection Agency has identified that one year of recycled material translates to a reduction of 186 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions, and 40% of the material waste that annually ends up in US landfills are products that could have been recycled (Trudel). Decreasing landfill space and increasing urban waste generation require the implementation of both an effective and efficient recycling system, as recycling is a costly waste management strategy for municipalities (Lakhan, 2015). Single stream sorting and dual stream sorting programs are popular policy responses to municipal managing of recyclables. There are several context specific factors that impact the efficiency and effectiveness of both sorting systems that must be considered by municipalities when deciding which system to implement. Choosing to Recycle According to the waste hierarchy, source reduction and reuse are far more sustainable waste management practices than recycling, but it can be extremely difficult to implement ... Seeking relationships: example In simple regression, one can build a predictive model to relate the predictor variable, X to a response variable Y through a relationship Y = aX + b. e.g. we might build a model which would allow us to predict a persona s annual credit card spending given their annual income. Not perfect but good for a rough characterization. Step wise: The representation is a model in which the response variable, spending, is linearly related to the predictor variable, income. The score function: the sum of squared discrepancies between predicted spending and observed spending in group of people described by the data The optimization algorithm is quite simple: a and b are expressed as explicit functions of the observed values of spending and income Unless the data set is ...
