Formal Exorcists
An exorcist is a Christian authority figure, often times a Catholic priest. The Roman Catholic
Church has established an ecclesiastical position for exorcists, yet there are Christian ministers,
who are neither Catholic nor priests, who perform exorcisms as well. Christian ministers who
perform exorcisms are given guidelines for deciding when an exorcism is the best course of
action. Their assessment often involves an examination and interview of the allegedly afflicted
person to see if an exorcism is necessary. Formal exorcists often receive extensive training and
teaching to perform an exorcism. An exorcists training involves much communication with prayers
and what words to say directly to the afflicted person, and in some cases, what

The Military Manipulated The Media During The First Gulf War
The aim of this investigation is to determine to what extent the US military manipulated the media
during the First Gulf War. Therefore my research question is to what extent was media coverage of
the First Gulf War manipulated by the United States government. In order to obtain an appropriate
analysis of this topic several different sources will be consulted throughout this investigation. Those
include, archived books, news reports, interviews, photos and websites. I will now analyse 2 of the
sources that I will use in the investigation For example the U.S Government exhibited great skill in
shaping media coverage during the Gulf War. It used several means to do so. Reporters were
restricted to the pool system meaning the government choose which reporters and news
organizations had access to battlefield coverage. The government escorted the media to sites of the
governments choosing and even then the media had to submit their reports to government
censorship. Most of the media spent most of the Gulf War in hotel rooms in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia
reporting on government press briefings, and rebroadcasting and rebroadcasting the Pentagon s
footage of perfect bombing runs and surgical air strikes. The media had no independent ability to
confirm or deny these rosy pictures and reports and no ability to track down stories the government
did not want shown, such as those about Iraqi casualties, civilians dead or injured, missed bombs,
or failing to strike Saddam Hussein.

Summary Of The Snow Man By Sunn Stevens
In spirit and in style, the collection is extremely diverse, even to the point of being disjointed
(imagine Stevens chagrin!). Perhaps the most obvious is Stevens choice of voice across the set;
some are presented semi formally; e.g. Of Heaven Considered as a Tomb . Others are written
more as vignettes, e.g. Cy Est Pourtraicte, Madame Ste Ursule, et Les Unze Mille Vierges. The
main identify feature of voice is that Stevens avoids a first person, which allows him some freedom
from projecting an identity and allows him to be more analytical.
A note: Sunday Morning is far and away Stevens best poem in Harmonium, and may be the best he
ever wrote, but it also does not fit with the overall style of the collection and as such I will pretend
that it does not exist. Additionally, its length and copious allusions make it unsuitable for a fair
analysis at present. Instead, The Snow Man and other vignettes match much more neatly here.
The Snow Man is one of the most easily understood poems in Harmonium. It is also definitively
human and personal, drawing on experiences shared by Americans at large, but examined in a way
removed from normal December festivities. Stevens describes what he means to have a mind of
winter : though a normal observer would observe the spruces, rough in the distant glitter and the
junipers shagged with ice as simply part of a scene, Stevens separates the scenery from the
observer and the reader in the final stanza (Stevens 9 10). His

Certainly, health care services in the United States are a controversial topic. In 1900, the child
welfare movement made an impact on public health as well as in child health care. Public health
helped to catch infectious diseases and many other family conditions. Accordingly, the government
established a national public health infrastructure. Indeed, hospitals, medical schools and research
laboratory creation made a difference in children s health. In fact, the government commitment was
to prevent the infant and child s mortality. Later, the government expands health programs. It
determined the formation of health care programs such as Medicare and Medicaid. Indeed, the
government mandated Early and Periodic Screening for children. Then, the United States
government established the State Children s Insurance Programs (SCHIP). However, more
services should to be offered to support the children s wellbeing. Health care insurance must offer
full cover services to each child in the United States. This way, children s illnesses will be treated
effectively (Howard Golden, 2017). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

method to prevent children s developmental delays, congenital and chronic illnesses. Many
approaches such as social and medical factors support children s wellbeing. In fact, children who

justice systems) These services assist children with the recovery (Ko, Kassam, Berkowitz Wilson,

Descriptive Essay On Destitute Beauty
Destitute Beauty In the large city of New York, there are many beautiful people. I am not one of
them. I can pass hours away sitting in a coffee shop in a tall seat next to the window, watching
the beauties pass, seeing my reflection against them even more bloated and lumpy than normal.
Some of them notice me. Most of them don t. It doesn t matter. Like I said, New York is a large
city, I ll never see them again. And anyway, I m sure they re used to people staring. How could
they not be, they draw people with their large, black rimmed eyes and lean figures and cutting
jawbones like dogs to the enticing smell of meat. I am just another dog, one they will forget in
moments. And when the sun sets, and the beautiful people fade away and the crowd becomes
faceless and intoxicated, that s when I leave, and where I stay until the sun rises, becoming one
with the pulse and throb of the mass. Promising myself that the next day, yes, the next day, I ll
get a job, ignore the cold, gorgeous people, succeed even with my lumps, and papery skin, and
eyes that are just a little too far apart. And the next day, with my headache, I return. Today is
yesterday and the day before. The sun is especially bright now, almost passive aggressively
bright, shining smugly through the haze that buries the city, bouncing into the small cafe in
which I spend most of my time. It s supposed to be homey, with nearly dead plants hanging
skeletal by the windows and overstuffed couches near a coffee table. I sit in the uncomfortable
seat that s almost comically tall, at the only table next to a window. The barista Ellen is chatting
happily with a customer, she barely notices me anymore. Which is fine by me. A woman, with
long legs and hollows under her cheekbones, struts past the cafГ©, a mere foot away from me. She
doesn t notice my stare. It s a funny thing. People talk all they want about feeling when people stare
at them, getting goosebumps and looking around frantically for their admirer. But either it isn t
true, or I m not important enough for my stare to mean anything, hold any weight. Searching
through the crowd, I find parts and pieces that I want most, playing a game I often play. Her taut
stomach, her long legs, her bright eyes,

Kurapika blinked. Y yes? Eat your salmon, okay? It s not good to waste food. Kurapika glanced,
startled, down at his plate, where a perfectly grilled piece of salmon rested on a bed of rice pilaf,
steamed veggies nestled beside it. He honestly couldn t remember when was the last time he d

grumbled, but he picked up his fork and began to eat anyway; the fish was lukewarm now, but it

Rise Of The Industrial Revolution
The Industrial Revolution was a fundamental change in the ways goods were to be produced. How
this was done is people start to invent machines that would do the same job but a lot faster, there
for replacing human labor.
They had the spinning wheel and the hand loom but they invented the water frame (1769), spinning
jenny (1764) , spinning mule (1779), power loom (1785), cotton gin (1794), steam engine (1712) ,
sewing machine (1846), and the flying shuttle (1733). These ended up collapsing the cottage
workers income of cloth they made.
Now that they had these machines they would need new ways to power them since they couldn t
keep burning coal forever. Some of these new power sources were water, steam, oil, electricity, gas,
and kerosene.

Essay on Electoral College
According to critics, the Electoral College is a faulty system that should be abolished and
replaced by direct election. Supporters of the Electoral College system make convincing
arguments that it is the best system to decide the Presidential election in a complex society such as
the United States. Many scholars place the Electoral College into a historical context by discussing
its evolution and sustenance throughout the history of the United States. This paper will discuss
the main arguments made by supporters of the Electoral College System. I will first provide a
description of the Electoral College and offer justifications as to why it was conceived by the
Founding Fathers. Next, I will present major arguments from the critics of... Show more content on

However, a compromise was made by the delegates to have electors chosen by the various state
legislatures elect the President. This is the decision that made The Constitution. Critics of the
Electoral College often make three main arguments. The first argument states that the Electoral
College does not accurately represent the will of the people. The Electoral College s failure to
capture the will of the people derives from the winner take all system where the Presidential
candidates compete to win the most popular votes and whoever wins in that state, wins all the
electoral votes of that state. With this, it becomes difficult if not impossible for third party or
independent parties to make a showing in the Electoral College. Subsequently, the argument states
that the Electoral College supports a two party system and discourages third party and independent
candidates, which in turn restricts the choices available to the electorate. The second argument is
the possible role of the Electoral College in depressing the voter turnout. Since each State is entitled
to the same number of electoral votes regardless of its voter turnout, there is no incentive in the
States to encourage voter participation and, finally the third argument is based on the alleged
unfairness in the process by which the votes are distributed among the

The Artistic Elements Of LaocoпїЅn And His Sons
Laocoön and His Sons Muscles contorting in anguish, fangs brutally piercing the flesh, faces
drowning in suffering. This intense visual is shockingly manifested through marble in the sculpture
Laocoön and His Sons by Hagesandros, Polydoros, and Athenodoros of Rhodes. This alluring
orchestra of artistic elements is the perfect compilation of technical perfection and emotional
expression. The exaggerated drama of the piece is the style of the Greek s Hellenistic period. All
things considered, Laocoön and His Sons possess both exquisite formal components and content
and has the capability to provide insight into both the culture of the Greeks, as well as the attitudes
of humanity towards its enemies. To commence, the formal composition of Laocoön and His
Sons is enticing. The piece is carved in marblewith a height of eight feet. The marble white hue of
the statue seems to accentuate the intricate anatomy of the figures. The three males are arranged
upon a base. On one of the far sides of the platform, there resides a pillar style seating with
drapery which dangles off in a waterfall like manner. The central figure, and by far the most
substantial in size, Laocoön, sits at an angular position. This angular posture generates a dynamic
composition. His two sons, Antiphantes and Thymbraeus, struggle at his side as sea serpents
attack all three of the figures. There appear to be two sea serpents, one that is prominently digging
its fangs into Laocoön s pelvis. Moreover, a

what your goals are. Having a goal will not only keep you focused in accomplishing said goal but it
will also be the thing that keeps you moving forward despite the obstacles, that as an incoming

Gradually and over time, this increased expiratory effort during phonation develops increased
tension in the laryngeal musculatures which is responsible for the perceived dysphonia. This means
that at least great part of dysphonia in our subjects is functional (muscle tension or hyperfunctional
dysphonia). The primary cause of this dysphonia is the weak pulmonary support of air. Moreover,
the characters of dysphonia which dominate in our subjects are strained, rough and leaky dysphonia

Thou Blind Man s Mark Analysis
In the poem Thou Blind Man s Mark by Sir Philip Sidney, the speaker is struggling with his
desire for someone or something. They are fighting this feeling for control over his thoughts and
mind. It is shown that both the speaker and desire are constantly fighting, with neither fully able
to take control. This fact is evident through Sidney s use of violent diction, personification of
desire, and oxymorons. First, the diction of the poem is very violent. The words used are harsh
and show that the speaker is engaged in a war against his desire. For example, on line 14 it
states, Desiring naught but to kill desire (Sidney 14). The word kill is very intense and shows
that the speaker feels that the only way to destroy their desire is to murder it. Thus, ending the
fight they are stuck engaging in. This idea was earlier introduced in line 6, which says, With
price of mangled mind, thy worthless ware (6)[.] The words mangled and worthless are further
proof of this battle. Desire is leaving their mind in a mess, as is shown in the word mangled which
gives off the image of something being tangled and unable to be separated. Likewise, because his
mind is a mess, his thoughts are seemingly useless as shown through the use of worthless. The
wares, or valuable objects, in this case are the speaker s thoughts and ideas. Their constant battle
with desire has left their thoughts to be filled with nothing but thoughts of desire and those trying
to subdue it, thus leaving his mind

This ailment plays a crucial role affecting the seven dimensions of wellness. Emotional health is
a new form of health that our society has recently discovered. This form of health can be defined
as the state of emotional and psychological well being in which an individual is able to use his or
her cognitive and emotional capabilities, function in society, and meet the ordinary demands of
everyday life . Studies have proven that if an individual implements a healthy dietary, exercises
regularly, and drink a moderate use of alcohol, and does not use tobacco, it s clear the individual
is less likely to be depressed and suffer from poor health. When an individual is in a good
emotional state they are able to think and be aware of their feelings and behavior toward
themselves and others. They are also able to cope with stress and problems, which is inevitable in
life. When an individual is depressed often times they endure a sense of sadness, feeling empty,
hopeless or even numb. An individual s suffering with depression have thoughts of suicide,
overthink specific situations, have anxiety which makes it hard for them to relax, and irritable.
Some of these individuals rely and resort to drugs and alcohol to cope with their feelings. Overall,

Eight Imperatives Strategies
This research formulates a conceptual model of IT governance based on the previous result on
organizational culture profiles. This model employs Eight Imperatives strategies to design tactical
plans to be applied in governing IT. Hence, it is recommended as a reference for organization
leaders in strategic vision development, project execution, and new policy formulations. The Eight
Imperatives strategies are:
1.Imperative 1: focus on how IT can reshape work and public sector strategies
The strategy functions as a problem solving tool of members performance towards IT/IS in current
organizational culture. Some of the problems involve lack of comprehension by members of their

Dystopia The Giver
Dystopia: an imagined place or state in which everything is unpleasant or bad, typically a

society which would slowly tremble how would the society be perfect? No color, no starvation, no
war, and no racial profiling; if that would make the perfect society then that would make the perfect
downfall to the society. Both dystopian and modern societies have their flaws considering the fact
that dystopia means bad utopia while utopia means not a place . In Lois Lowry s The Giver, the

What Are The Contributions Of The LumiпїЅre Brothers In Cinema
The LumiГЁre Brothers we the first among filmmakers in history. Auguste Marie Louis Nicolas and
Louis Jean were born in Besançon, France during 1895. During this era, he and his brother would
be the first to launch a motion picture. They had shot their first motion picture with a sweeping
invention, which combined the camera and a projector, they named it the CinГЁmatographe. The
LumiГЁre Brothers had many technological contributions to cinema, along with their technological
significances in the filmindustry. The LumiГЁre Brothers had many career highlights, lasting
impacts on not only the development of motion pictures but the importance they brought out to
many individuals including themselves during this early era of new beginnings.
The LumiГЁre Brothers were both technically minded and overshadowed many other individuals
in the sciences; they both attended a technical school so that they could prosper their technical
ability. They were inspired to build such a tool that would prosper film into what it is today.
Auguste and Louis LumiГЁre s father Antoine LumiГЁre was well known painters and attended
and Edison s exhibition relating to an invention he had created called the Kinetoscope. This
exhibition showcased the Kinetoscope in Paris and he had told them you should try to develop a
cheaper alternative to the peephole film viewing device that its bulky camera counterpart (Pruitt
1). Listening to their father s advice they both took it into consideration and did exactly what they
had been implied to do. The Kinetoscope only did one job, which let the machine play a film but
it could only be watched by on individual at a time through the small hole that could be looked
through which was located at the top of the contraption. The brothers went straight to work with
their new product so that they could build a tool where many people could vision motion pictures
at the same time while having it projected onto a screen or plan background of some sort. By 1894
both of the brothers had invented the CinГЁmatographe which projected film of 16 frames per
second. The CinГЁmatographe was completely different from the Kinetoscope. Many differing
factors went into the development into the CinГЁmatographe. For example, it was

The Relationship Between Madness And Creativity, By...
Whether it is a natural talent or an acquired skill; writing allows artists to bring their creative
expression to life. Interestingly enough, there is a widespread belief that some writers develop their
creativity and knack for writing through suffering from a mental illness. This belief stems from past
research based on the relationship between madness and creativity, especially in the writingfield.
Katherine M. Thomas and Marshall Duke wrote the article, Depressed writing: Cognitive
distortions in the works of depressed and non depressed poets and writers. Their article focuses on
digging deeper into the relationship between madness and writing by making an in depth analysis
of writing samples from depressed writers versus the writing samples of those who weren t. Duke
and Thomas found that there is a need for analyzing works of writing because it may provide
understanding in the relationship, which will lead to an understanding of depression and mental
illness. Due to this widely known relationship, some may look at mental illness in a positive light.
This relationship may cause people to look at the distortions as simply art; thus, diminishing the
severity of mental illness. When looking at psychological distortions from an artistic perspective,
this may remove the humanity of the writer; therefore; it is important to analyze and seriously look
for the signs of cognitive distortions because it may help us understand and possibly distinguish the
relationship between

The Impact Of Gold On The City Of Potosi
The Impact of Silver
The city of Potosi, which is now modern day Bolivia, was once a vast mining town located in the
Andean highlands in the mid 1500 s. This town was the world s leading producer of silver; the
mountain contained enormous amounts of silver that then created many opportunities for many
different people all around the world. The population of Potosi at this time was around 160,000
large enough that it was comparing to that of cities like London and Amsterdam. This great
mountain supplied many people with all sorts of different jobs. This was a very dangerous and
fatal job for the people and many ended up dead or injured from working in the mines. Once
inside, they spend the whole week in there without emerging, working with tallow candle. They
are in great danger inside there, for one very small stone that falls injures or kills anyone is

(Strayer614). Mining in this mountain was very risky and you never knew if you would survive
the day or make it out of mine safely. Once the silver was mined from the mountain in Potosi it
was sent off to many different places all around the world. Mexico, the Philippines, China, and
Japan were all places that silver was exported to. But, the main destination of this silver was to
Spain. The Spanish used this silver for many different things. In Spain itself, which was the initial

Comparing Two Network Security Software Tools
Introduction
In this coursework, the main aim is to compare two network security software tools using Kali
Linux to carry out a type of attack which helps build and develop an awareness to protect
computers from varies password attacks.
The chosen software tools are offline password attack (John the Ripper) and (RainbowCrack) which
they both are from similar Cyber Security attacks under password cracking tools. John the Ripper
is free on multi platform as it combines various password cracking features in one package.
RainbowCrack uses rainbow crack tables that are updated periodically. After calculations, the
results are stored, which were obtained in the tables is called a rainbow table. The process of
creating rainbow tables takes very long time, but when the program works it s done very fast.

Analysis Of The Haunting Of The Sunshine Girl
The Haunting of the Sunshine Girl is a thrilling book by Paige Mckenzie. It explores the theme that
nothing has to be done alone. Everything started on Sunshine Griffith s sixteenth birthday,
throughout the year Sunshine has been faced with a series of tests followed with her new powers.
Every since she was young, Sunshine knew she was adopted, but who has she inherited these
powers from? While Sunshine s life changes forever, the people she loves change affecting
everything. The whole storyis described in detail affecting the imagery, characters and the two point
of views.
The characters in The Haunting of the Sunshine Girl have similar personalities to one another.
Sunshine s character seems a little dull. Besides her luiseach power Sunshine Griffith could be
considered as a stereotypical nerd character; quiet, smart, and unlike other people. It could be hard
for the readers to connect with the main character on a personal level because the author has failed
to describe Sunshine s unique personality. Most characters in this novel have some stereotypical
features, but they all have a surprising characteristic to them. Most characters followed the luiseach
journey along with Sunshine from the beginning, and were there to help her. Sunshine s classmate,
Nolan, was Sunshine s partner throughout the discovery of Sunshine s powers. He was labelled as
her protector through this journey. They discovered most secrets together. Readers would have

John Williams s Soundtrack for Harry Potter
Adventure, mystery, and magic all go hand in hand when it comes to the Harry Potter series
written by J.K. Rowling. The books were adapted into films starting in 2001. The first film,
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer s Stone, was directed by Chris Columbus. The story of Harry
Potter is magical as is however; the movie needed a little extra magic. This extra magic needed to
be added through music. Director Chris Columbus chose John Williams to compose the music for

knew they had to have Williams compose the entire movie (John Williams). Williams created an

(The Harry Potter Suite). This wizard orchestra contained instruments such as: flutes, recorders,
violins, tambourines, triangles, xylophone, bells, harps, and cellos (). All of these instruments
created a brilliant tune. In Diagon Alley, the music is light, whimsical, and quick which mimics
the atmosphere of Diagon Alley. The music turns back to a curious, mysterious, majestic song
when Harry and Hagrid enter Gringotts bank because there are mysterious creatures in Gringotts
called Goblins. When Harry sees all of the money that his parents left him in Gringotts the music
sounds like it sparkles just like the gold coins sparkle in the film. The song changes again when
Hagrid retrieves a peculiar item from vault 713 in the bank. The music turns mysterious and
secretive. The music in the scene about Diagon Alley perfectly mimics the events and the
atmosphere of the scene and helps tells the story. There is a sport in the magical world of Harry
Potter called Quidditch. Harry ends up playing of the Quidditch team as a seeker, which is a
player who finds a tiny, gold ball that flies through the air and the seeker must catch it in order to
win the match. The Quidditch match in the film is an exhilarating part of the film. The entire

Freedom Under Hospitable Captivity Essay
The Matrix (Andy and Lana Wachowski, 1999) appeals to a Western ideology of freedom in its
most general sense by depicting a fight against the enslavement of the human race in a post
apocalyptic world controlled by machines. The machines use the humans, whose minds are trapped
in a computer program, as an energy source. In this world of machines, the Wachowskis expand
upon the totalitarianism seen in other works of fiction, such as 1984 by George Orwell. The
totalitarian state of 1984, Airstrip One, becomes the whole planet in The Matrix, and the oppressed
citizens become nearly the entire human race. Only a group of rebels escape from the machines by
creating a city below the surface of the earth. The main character, Neo (Keanu... Show more content

Bend It Like Beckham Analysis
Bend It Like Beckham , directed by Gurinder Chadha is a 2002 comedic sports film, based in
London, England. The plot follows an athletic 18 year old girl; Jesminder Bhamra and her strict
parents who detest Jess passion and love for playing soccer as it refutes their family s Indian
Sikh religious morals. Jess feels a lot of pressure and guilt throughout the film as she is
ultimately betraying her family, yet everyone in her team supports her, including the coach, Joe
who tries to convince Jess that her parents don t always know what s best for her. In every
family, there is often a distinct line between what a person wants to do and achieve, compared to
what their parents and family members expect of them. This clichГ© can be easily applied to
many of the characters including Tony Jess best pal, Juliet Paxton the player who suggested Jess
joined the local team and Jess with their conflicts between their families. Aside from being the
main character in the film, Jesminder suffers the worst conflict between her parents and family,
throughout the entire storyline. Despite her parent s wishes and concerns towards Jess passion,
she makes the decision to secretively continue to spend hours in the local park playing with other
passionate male players whenever she could spare the time. This soon brought on an offer from a
player from the local soccer team, who was amazed by Jess skills, and she soon joined the team, all

Essay on Counterfeit Items Cause Economic Damage
Everyone has seen the sidewalk vendor hawking a too good to be true designer handbag. The
clues to counterfeit luxury items used to be so obvious that most people knew exactly what they
were buying. This sadly is no longer the case. The production of counterfeit items causes
American manufactures to suffer about $200 billion in losses each year according to the
International AntiCounterfeiting Coalition (Freedman, 1999). A large part of counterfeited items
are fashion goods. They are usually easily recognizable, especially at the designer or luxury end
of the market. The more exclusive a brand is, the more likely it is to be counterfeited (Lai

Now that almost anything can be faked, counterfeiting is becoming a huge economic issue. Many
businesses are losing customers because they are not able to spot counterfeit items. Customers are
doing more and more shopping on the Internet for convenience and lower prices rather than
shopping at their local trusted retailer.
Customers are buying merchandise without knowing the seller or their reputation (McCausland,
2010). The shopper who would never have considered buying from the guy on the corner
whispering, Pssst! Want to buy a watch? can easily be fooled by a website that looks genuine but
isn t, says Susan Scafidi, a law professor at Fordham Univeristy (McCausland, 2010). Some
websites are even very open about the fact that they sell counterfeit merchandise. They label their
designer knockoffs as replicas or inspired by the original designer (Freedman, 1999). The shoppers
who do not realize that they are buying counterfeit goods or who are knowingly buying counterfeit
goods will continue to purchase these items from counterfeiters because they are cheaper than
buying the real thing.
The customers who are knowingly purchasing fakes are contributing to the reduced profitability of
legitimate businesses. These sales have driven companies out of business completely or they have
been forced to significantly scale back their operations.
Globalized production is another factor that

My Fear By Lawrence Rab Literary Devices
My Fear is a simple poem in which the author, Lawrence Raab, portrays fear as a person who is
constantly on the prowl and taking note of things to haunt us with in our dreams. Raab makes great
use of personification and symbolism throughout the poem in order to reveal the theme that fear is
inevitable and is something we all deal with.
Raab begins with the first stanza introducing the antagonist that is fear himself, who follows and
records the fears that trouble our mind. Through personification we are able to visualize the
possibility of a lighter side to fear s character. Fear is typically an emotion we don t like, but Raab
takes a line to sympathize by posing the idea that maybe he s sorry, maybe fear is just carrying out

Examination Of Biliverdin Ix Beta Reductase
Examination of Biliverdin IX Beta Reductase
October 10 2014
Joel Langford It is evident that there are many significant biological syntheses that take place in
this world. This includes the synthesis of bilirubin (BR) from biliverdin (BV) with biliverdin IX
beta reductase (BVR). BV is one of three products produced from heme being catalyzed by heme
oxygenase. Now, BVR, as seen in Figure 1, is known as an enzyme that catalyzes the reduction of
BV s double bond to a single bond on the second and third pyrrole ring. In other words, BVR
reduces BV, which is hydrophilic, using NADPH and yields the product bilirubin, which is
hydrophobic (1). The schematic for this mechanism is shown below...
Schematic 1: It is important to note ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This paper will examine the three dimensional structure of BVR and its specific interactions.
Among the 204 amino acid residues in BVR, its secondary structure contains alpha helices, beta
sheets, and turns, as seen in Figure 2 (4). The arrangement of these helices and sheets represents
that of a Rossmann Fold (5). The protein structure of a Rossmann Fold contains six parallel beta
strands that are linked to two pairs of alpha helices (6). In BVR, there are ten beta sheets, six of
which lie parallel forming the Rossmann Fold, and there are seven alpha helices which seem to
be wrapping around the Rossmann Fold, which explains the beta alpha beta alpha beta topological
order. For example, this includes the central beta sheet and the two groups of alpha helices. While
it may seem rather easy to comprehend, it seems important to make note of the simple interactions
or facts relating to the coenzyme nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate, NADPH, and the
substrate mesobiliverdin, MBV, which is a tetrapyrrole compound. To start, this reaction is a
reduction reaction in which the MBV is the compound being reduced. The NADPH, carrying
hydrogens, is the reducing agent, also meaning it is oxidized by the MBV (the NADPH simplified
interactions with the protein and amino acids can be noted in Figure 3. Now, on a side note,

De-Extinction Cloning
Should Research on De extinction and Cloning be continued?
Have you ever imagined how it would feel when extinct species, like woolly mammoths and
passenger pigeons, are brought back to the Earth? How would it be like to revive long dead
species? Obviously, many would imagine it to be amusing and fascinating. There are numerous
discussions ongoing that address the prospect as well as the impacts of de extinction and cloning. I
believe that de extinction and cloning, though seem fascinating at first, are not really worth
millions of dollars and hundreds of hours being spent for them. First, we should be protecting the
endangered species so that they do not get extinct, rather than reviving those that are already
extinct. Second, there are numerous problems with de extinction like tiny market, ethical issues,
and some more technical such as the complexity of resurrecting extinct genes, and then
interspecies cloning. Moreover, we have heard about several scandals and cases of misusing
genetic technology and cloning, due to which it has been a topic of constant public debate. As the
saying goes prevention is better than cure , instead of spending limited resources for the research
on reviving a few species wiped away by humans, conservationists should focus on preserving the
endangered ones.
To begin with, spending limited resources just to resurrect a few species does not seem wise to
me. Research projects like de extinction require a huge amount of funding, and if we

The process of working with resources and people in an organization to accomplish a goal can be

A manager s effort to stimulate high performance by its employees is the function of leading
(Bateman Snell, 2007). This seems to be a very logical step in the functions of management. After
all you have a company and mangers that have spent countless hours planning for it s success and
future, they ve identified the various parts of which an employee can be successful now they must
motivate and encourage that employee so that they might offer the most benefit to the company
and it s profitability. Within the company that I work at, the management team is forever trying
to motivate its employees. They are always holding competitions and then once a month they

They also lead by example, which is huge moral booster. They tend to ask anything of you that

within, so most in management know what it s like to be low man on the rung and they are
always conscious of that and do what they can to make sure the employees are working in a fun yet

The final function of management is the function of controlling. A major component of controlling
is monitoring. When managers implement their plans, they often find that things are not working

Most of the media spent most of the Gulf War in hotel rooms in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia reporting on government press briefings, and rebroadcasting and rebroadcasting the Pentagon s footage of perfect bombing runs and surgical air strikes. The media had no independent ability to confirm or deny these rosy pictures and reports and no ability to track down stories the government did not want shown, such as those about Iraqi casualties, civilians dead or injured, missed bombs, or failing to strike Saddam Hussein. ... • 7. Summary Of The Snow Man By Sunn Stevens In spirit and in style, the collection is extremely diverse, even to the point of being disjointed (imagine Stevens chagrin!). Perhaps the most obvious is Stevens choice of voice across the set; some are presented semi formally; e.g. Of Heaven Considered as a Tomb . Others are written more as vignettes, e.g. Cy Est Pourtraicte, Madame Ste Ursule, et Les Unze Mille Vierges. The main identify feature of voice is that Stevens avoids a first person, which allows him some freedom from projecting an identity and allows him to be more analytical. A note: Sunday Morning is far and away Stevens best poem in Harmonium, and may be the best he ever wrote, but it also does not fit with the overall style of the collection and as such I will pretend that it does not exist. Additionally, its length and copious allusions make it unsuitable for a fair analysis at present. Instead, The Snow Man and other vignettes match much more neatly here. The Snow Man is one of the most easily understood poems in Harmonium. It is also definitively human and personal, drawing on experiences shared by Americans at large, but examined in a way removed from normal December festivities. Stevens describes what he means to have a mind of winter : though a normal observer would observe the spruces, rough in the distant glitter and the junipers shagged with ice as simply part of a scene, Stevens separates the scenery from the observer and the reader in the final stanza (Stevens 9 10). In 1900, the child welfare movement made an impact on public health as well as in child health care. Public health helped to catch infectious diseases and many other family conditions. Accordingly, the government established a national public health infrastructure. Indeed, hospitals, medical schools and research laboratory creation made a difference in children s health. In fact, the government commitment was to prevent the infant and child s mortality. Later, the government expands health programs. It determined the formation of health care programs such as Medicare and Medicaid. Indeed, the government mandated Early and Periodic Screening for children. Then, the United States government established the State Children s Insurance Programs (SCHIP). However, more services should to be offered to support the children s wellbeing. • 9. Descriptive Essay On Destitute Beauty Destitute Beauty In the large city of New York, there are many beautiful people. I am not one of them. I can pass hours away sitting in a coffee shop in a tall seat next to the window, watching the beauties pass, seeing my reflection against them even more bloated and lumpy than normal. Some of them notice me. Most of them don t. It doesn t matter. Like I said, New York is a large city, I ll never see them again. And anyway, I m sure they re used to people staring. How could they not be, they draw people with their large, black rimmed eyes and lean figures and cutting jawbones like dogs to the enticing smell of meat. I am just another dog, one they will forget in moments. And when the sun sets, and the beautiful people fade away and the crowd becomes faceless and intoxicated, that s when I leave, and where I stay until the sun rises, becoming one with the pulse and throb of the mass. Promising myself that the next day, yes, the next day, I ll get a job, ignore the cold, gorgeous people, succeed even with my lumps, and papery skin, and eyes that are just a little too far apart. And the next day, with my headache, I return. Today is yesterday and the day before. The sun is especially bright now, almost passive aggressively bright, shining smugly through the haze that buries the city, bouncing into the small cafe in which I spend most of my time. It s supposed to be homey, with nearly dead plants hanging skeletal by the windows and overstuffed couches near a coffee table. I sit in the uncomfortable seat that s almost comically tall, at the only table next to a window. The barista Ellen is chatting happily with a customer, she barely notices me anymore. Which is fine by me. A woman, with long legs and hollows under her cheekbones, struts past the cafГ©, a mere foot away from me. She doesn t notice my stare. It s a funny thing. People talk all they want about feeling when people stare at them, getting goosebumps and looking around frantically for their admirer. This is the decision that made The Constitution. Critics of the Electoral College often make three main arguments. The first argument states that the Electoral College does not accurately represent the will of the people. The Electoral College s failure to capture the will of the people derives from the winner take all system where the Presidential candidates compete to win the most popular votes and whoever wins in that state, wins all the electoral votes of that state. With this, it becomes difficult if not impossible for third party or independent parties to make a showing in the Electoral College. Subsequently, the argument states that the Electoral College supports a two party system and discourages third party and independent candidates, which in turn restricts the choices available to the electorate. The second argument is the possible role of the Electoral College in depressing the voter turnout. Since each State is entitled to the same number of electoral votes regardless of its voter turnout, there is no incentive in the States to encourage voter participation and, finally the third argument is based on the alleged unfairness in the process by which the votes are distributed among the ... This intense visual is shockingly manifested through marble in the sculpture LaocoГ¶n and His Sons by Hagesandros, Polydoros, and Athenodoros of Rhodes. This alluring orchestra of artistic elements is the perfect compilation of technical perfection and emotional expression. The exaggerated drama of the piece is the style of the Greek s Hellenistic period. All things considered, LaocoГ¶n and His Sons possess both exquisite formal components and content and has the capability to provide insight into both the culture of the Greeks, as well as the attitudes of humanity towards its enemies. To commence, the formal composition of LaocoГ¶n and His Sons is enticing. The piece is carved in marblewith a height of eight feet. The marble white hue of the statue seems to accentuate the intricate anatomy of the figures. The three males are arranged upon a base. On one of the far sides of the platform, there resides a pillar style seating with drapery which dangles off in a waterfall like manner. The central figure, and by far the most substantial in size, LaocoГ¶n, sits at an angular position. This angular posture generates a dynamic composition. • 19. Thou Blind Man s Mark Analysis In the poem Thou Blind Man s Mark by Sir Philip Sidney, the speaker is struggling with his desire for someone or something. They are fighting this feeling for control over his thoughts and mind. It is shown that both the speaker and desire are constantly fighting, with neither fully able to take control. This fact is evident through Sidney s use of violent diction, personification of desire, and oxymorons. First, the diction of the poem is very violent. The words used are harsh and show that the speaker is engaged in a war against his desire. For example, on line 14 it states, Desiring naught but to kill desire (Sidney 14). The word kill is very intense and shows that the speaker feels that the only way to destroy their desire is to murder it. Thus, ending the fight they are stuck engaging in. This idea was earlier introduced in line 6, which says, With price of mangled mind, thy worthless ware (6)[.] The words mangled and worthless are further proof of this battle. Desire is leaving their mind in a mess, as is shown in the word mangled which gives off the image of something being tangled and unable to be separated. Likewise, because his mind is a mess, his thoughts are seemingly useless as shown through the use of worthless. The wares, or valuable objects, in this case are the speaker s thoughts and ideas. Their constant battle with desire has left their thoughts to be filled with nothing but thoughts of desire and those trying to subdue it, thus leaving his mind ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Interestingly enough, there is a widespread belief that some writers develop their creativity and knack for writing through suffering from a mental illness. This belief stems from past research based on the relationship between madness and creativity, especially in the writingfield. Katherine M. Thomas and Marshall Duke wrote the article, Depressed writing: Cognitive distortions in the works of depressed and non depressed poets and writers. Their article focuses on digging deeper into the relationship between madness and writing by making an in depth analysis of writing samples from depressed writers versus the writing samples of those who weren t. Duke and Thomas found that there is a need for analyzing works of writing because it may provide understanding in the relationship, which will lead to an understanding of depression and mental illness. Due to this widely known relationship, some may look at mental illness in a positive light. This relationship may cause people to look at the distortions as simply art; thus, diminishing the severity of mental illness. When looking at psychological distortions from an artistic perspective, this may remove the humanity of the writer; therefore; it is important to analyze and seriously look for the signs of cognitive distortions because it may help us understand and possibly distinguish the relationship between ... • 29. Analysis Of The Haunting Of The Sunshine Girl The Haunting of the Sunshine Girl is a thrilling book by Paige Mckenzie. It explores the theme that nothing has to be done alone. Everything started on Sunshine Griffith s sixteenth birthday, throughout the year Sunshine has been faced with a series of tests followed with her new powers. Every since she was young, Sunshine knew she was adopted, but who has she inherited these powers from? While Sunshine s life changes forever, the people she loves change affecting everything. The whole storyis described in detail affecting the imagery, characters and the two point of views. The characters in The Haunting of the Sunshine Girl have similar personalities to one another. Sunshine s character seems a little dull. Besides her luiseach power Sunshine Griffith could be considered as a stereotypical nerd character; quiet, smart, and unlike other people. It could be hard for the readers to connect with the main character on a personal level because the author has failed to describe Sunshine s unique personality. Most characters in this novel have some stereotypical features, but they all have a surprising characteristic to them. Most characters followed the luiseach journey along with Sunshine from the beginning, and were there to help her. Sunshine s classmate, Nolan, was Sunshine s partner throughout the discovery of Sunshine s powers. He was labelled as her protector through this journey. They discovered most secrets together. Readers would have assume that their teacher, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The books were adapted into films starting in 2001. The first film, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer s Stone, was directed by Chris Columbus. The story of Harry Potter is magical as is however; the movie needed a little extra magic. This extra magic needed to be added through music. Director Chris Columbus chose John Williams to compose the music for a promotional reel (John Williams). In Diagon Alley, the music is light, whimsical, and quick which mimics the atmosphere of Diagon Alley. Freedom Under Hospitable Captivity Essay The Matrix (Andy and Lana Wachowski, 1999) appeals to a Western ideology of freedom in its most general sense by depicting a fight against the enslavement of the human race in a post apocalyptic world controlled by machines. The machines use the humans, whose minds are trapped in a computer program, as an energy source. In this world of machines, the Wachowskis expand upon the totalitarianism seen in other works of fiction, such as 1984 by George Orwell. The totalitarian state of 1984, Airstrip One, becomes the whole planet in The Matrix, and the oppressed citizens become nearly the entire human race. Only a group of rebels escape from the machines by creating a city below the surface of the earth. The main character, Neo (Keanu... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The plot follows an athletic 18 year old girl; Jesminder Bhamra and her strict parents who detest Jess passion and love for playing soccer as it refutes their family s Indian Sikh religious morals. Jess feels a lot of pressure and guilt throughout the film as she is ultimately betraying her family, yet everyone in her team supports her, including the coach, Joe who tries to convince Jess that her parents don t always know what s best for her. In every family, there is often a distinct line between what a person wants to do and achieve, compared to what their parents and family members expect of them. This clichГ© can be easily applied to many of the characters including Tony Jess best pal, Juliet Paxton the player who suggested Jess joined the local team and Jess with their conflicts between their families. Aside from being the main character in the film, Jesminder suffers the worst conflict between her parents and family, throughout the entire storyline. Despite her parent s wishes and concerns towards Jess passion, she makes the decision to secretively continue to spend hours in the local park playing with other passionate male players whenever she could spare the time. The clues to counterfeit luxury items used to be so obvious that most people knew exactly what they were buying. This sadly is no longer the case. The production of counterfeit items causes American manufactures to suffer about $200 billion in losses each year according to the International AntiCounterfeiting Coalition (Freedman, 1999). A large part of counterfeited items are fashion goods. They are usually easily recognizable, especially at the designer or luxury end of the market. The more exclusive a brand is, the more likely it is to be counterfeited (Lai Zaichkowsky, 1999). As these goods are also high value, there is considerable profit to be made... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Now that almost anything can be faked, counterfeiting is becoming a huge economic issue. Many businesses are losing customers because they are not able to spot counterfeit items. Customers are doing more and more shopping on the Internet for convenience and lower prices rather than shopping at their local trusted retailer. Customers are buying merchandise without knowing the seller or their reputation (McCausland, 2010). The shopper who would never have considered buying from the guy on the corner whispering, Pssst! Want to buy a watch? can easily be fooled by a website that looks genuine but isn t, says Susan Scafidi, a law professor at Fordham Univeristy (McCausland, 2010). Some websites are even very open about the fact that they sell counterfeit merchandise. They label their designer knockoffs as replicas or inspired by the original designer (Freedman, 1999). The shoppers who do not realize that they are buying counterfeit goods or who are knowingly buying counterfeit goods will continue to purchase these items from counterfeiters because they are cheaper than buying the real thing. The customers who are knowingly purchasing fakes are contributing to the reduced profitability of legitimate businesses. These sales have driven companies out of business completely or they have been forced to significantly scale back their operations. Globalized production is another factor that ... Raab makes great use of personification and symbolism throughout the poem in order to reveal the theme that fear is inevitable and is something we all deal with. Raab begins with the first stanza introducing the antagonist that is fear himself, who follows and records the fears that trouble our mind. Through personification we are able to visualize the possibility of a lighter side to fear s character. • 40. Examination Of Biliverdin Ix Beta Reductase Examination of Biliverdin IX Beta Reductase October 10 2014 Joel Langford It is evident that there are many significant biological syntheses that take place in this world. This includes the synthesis of bilirubin (BR) from biliverdin (BV) with biliverdin IX beta reductase (BVR). BV is one of three products produced from heme being catalyzed by heme oxygenase. Now, BVR, as seen in Figure 1, is known as an enzyme that catalyzes the reduction of BV s double bond to a single bond on the second and third pyrrole ring. In other words, BVR reduces BV, which is hydrophilic, using NADPH and yields the product bilirubin, which is hydrophobic (1). The schematic for this mechanism is shown below... Schematic 1: It is important to note ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This paper will examine the three dimensional structure of BVR and its specific interactions. Among the 204 amino acid residues in BVR, its secondary structure contains alpha helices, beta sheets, and turns, as seen in Figure 2 (4). The arrangement of these helices and sheets represents that of a Rossmann Fold (5). The protein structure of a Rossmann Fold contains six parallel beta strands that are linked to two pairs of alpha helices (6). In BVR, there are ten beta sheets, six of which lie parallel forming the Rossmann Fold, and there are seven alpha helices which seem to be wrapping around the Rossmann Fold, which explains the beta alpha beta alpha beta topological order. For example, this includes the central beta sheet and the two groups of alpha helices. While it may seem rather easy to comprehend, it seems important to make note of the simple interactions or facts relating to the coenzyme nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate, NADPH, and the substrate mesobiliverdin, MBV, which is a tetrapyrrole compound. To start, this reaction is a reduction reaction in which the MBV is the compound being reduced. The NADPH, carrying hydrogens, is the reducing agent, also meaning it is oxidized by the MBV (the NADPH simplified interactions with the protein and amino acids can be noted in Figure 3. Have you ever imagined how it would feel when extinct species, like woolly mammoths and passenger pigeons, are brought back to the Earth? How would it be like to revive long dead species? Obviously, many would imagine it to be amusing and fascinating. There are numerous discussions ongoing that address the prospect as well as the impacts of de extinction and cloning. I believe that de extinction and cloning, though seem fascinating at first, are not really worth millions of dollars and hundreds of hours being spent for them. First, we should be protecting the endangered species so that they do not get extinct, rather than reviving those that are already extinct. Second, there are numerous problems with de extinction like tiny market, ethical issues, and some more technical such as the complexity of resurrecting extinct genes, and then interspecies cloning. Moreover, we have heard about several scandals and cases of misusing genetic technology and cloning, due to which it has been a topic of constant public debate. As the saying goes prevention is better than cure , instead of spending limited resources for the research on reviving a few species wiped away by humans, conservationists should focus on preserving the endangered ones. To begin with, spending limited resources just to resurrect a few species does not seem wise to me. Research projects like de extinction require a huge amount of funding, and if we ...
