The Law Of Conservation Of Energy
This is my Theory: God desires to be relational and recreate himself, but it can t be done because he
stands alone, omnipotent. So he continuously creates, hopefully lovingly, yet he continuously has to
substitute himself reproducing only himself again. Having beside him... nothing but God. This is why
he is praised forever and ever amen. But why he s sorry when he has to wipe out the face of the earth
with the flood during Noah s time is that he is sorry that nothing is like him. What an honest and
sincere claim for the God of the universe! Yet he strives to still create, loving his creations till
substitution (of himself). Because some of his creation had to be destroyed due to God s desire to be
relational, yet loathe of sin. God can not recreate himself (Law of Conservation of Energy: Energy can
neither be created nor destroyed). There is only one God. That is why there is the law of conservation
of energy the energy therein can neither be created nor destroyed.
This is what I believe. It happens to correlate with what author of engaging God s world Mr. Cornelius
Plantiga Jr. has to say. Plantiga, exclaims that love and hope are the two most pertinent things we long
for as humans/Christians. Is he right? Of course. Can anyone deny when our master Jesus spoke the
two most important commandments: to love the Lord your God with all your heart and to love your
neighbor as yourself? In doing these two things what comes to your life is one everlasting happiness
and two

The Effect Of Maternal Vocalizations On Domestic, Post...
Introduction The focus of this survey is the role of maternal vocalizations in domestic, post parturient
goats. The subtleties of call characteristics and recognition have yet to be researched in depth, but
recent studies have shown that these calls are more individualized than previously supposed. Goats are
a highly social, vocal species, and does will use a variety of vocal and non vocal behaviors to establish
a connection with her kid(s). The bond between mother and infant is near immediate as few as five to
ten minutes are all that is needed to establish the connection and care is exclusive. Immediately after
parturition, licking is accompanied by numerous low and high pitched bleats, instigating the mother
kid bond (Poindron et ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As early as fifteen hours after birth, kids will leave their mothers to sequester themselves to a hiding
spot, while the mother eats, rests, and ruminates. During this hiding phase, it will spend very little
time with her within the first week of life, except to nurse (Lickliter Heron). During at least the first
two days of life for the neonate, vocal recognition tends to be unidirectional. That is, a kid may
recognize its mother s call, but a doe may not recognize her kid s call. Mother kid interactions have
been found to be primarily instigated by the mother, while the offspring is in its hiding phase
(Lickliter Heron). The doe will seek out the area in which her offspring hides and let out low pitch
contact calls, to which the kid(s) will often respond with high pitched bleats and come out of hiding to
nurse. After the initial two to four day delay, kids develop a bleat contour, a modulation of a small
range of frequencies, which individualizes the kids calls (Lenhardt). Using this individualizing cue,
does are able to locate their offspring more accurately, in hiding or, later, in a herd. The ability to
imprint vocalizations, first in one direction and then in both directions (mother to kid and vice versa),
allows for the species to effectively utilize hiding behavior. From an ultimate standpoint, this increases
likelihood of survival. The neonates will remain relatively safe, concealed from predators, while the
mother has

Tension In Rwanda Genocide
World History II Colonial Legacies Research Paper
In 1994, a brutal battle of discrimination and hatred erupted. In the central African country of Rwanda,
a long brewing tension broke out in a battle between the Tutsi and Hutu. Lasting approximately 100
days, the conflict forever changed the lives of 40% of the Rwandan population. About 800,000 Tutsi
were killed and many refugees fled the country ( Rwandan Genocide ). It was a grueling fight, based
on land and power, that all started with a lopsided hierarchy created by the Belgians that loomed over
the heads of the Rwandan people. Belgium s colonization of Rwanda, served as a catalyst to the
genocide between the Tutsi and Hutu by creating the unjust differences and unequal rights between ...

This included higher class advantages to the Tusi in government administration, as well as the greater

to become undone. Over the years, the negative effects of the Belgian rule started to multiply. Their
leaders conducted a system throughout the country that supplied the Rwandan people with identity

stereotyping began to take over the identities of the people. This scheme of separation hit the everyone

New Entrants Below are several factors that invaders are difficult to enter an industry:
Economies of scale In order to compete with the established firms, Startup companies have to operate
with small margins.
Capital requirements It is very difficult for firms to enter into new ventures simply because the capital
required is too high and the existing firms need not worry about new competition.
Access to distribution channels New companies struggle to market their products and compete with
the existing competive market.
Government policy Potential firms rely on favorable government policies for their entry to the market
Differentiation new firms will struggle to make an impact on customers by showcasing what makes
their product stand out the existing market players

Situational Analysis Of Starbucks
Starbucks set out to inspire a better world by sharing a high quality coffee with their friends
(Starbucks, 2018). An in 1971, Starbucks opened their first coffee shop in Settle, Washington
(Starbucks, 2018). Now, CEO Howard Schultz first visited the Starbucks coffee shop back in 1981
(Starbucks, 2018). In 1987, Schultz with some local investors purchased Starbucks and created the
coffee shop known today (Starbucks, 2018). The following study is a situational analysis assessment
of the external environment of Starbucks (Ferrell Hartline, 2014). The external factors include
competition, economic growth, political trends, technology advancements, and sociocultural trends
(Ferrell Hartline, 2014). Meeting the consumer s needs and wants is the goal for every company

consumers live and determine what, how, when, and where consumers buy products (Ferrell Hartline,

In summary, there are some opportunities for Starbucks to grow their business. First, Starbucks could
globally expand outside the United States to places like China, Brazil, and India. Second, Starbucks
has the opportunity to co brand with a food service or retailer. Third, increase Starbucks brands
outside of Starbuck stores. There are also some threats that could affect the Starbucks brand. First,
increase in prices for coffee beans and dairy products. Second, increase in minimum wage can
decrease profits. Finally, a larger number of coffee competitors can lead to a decrease in

A Difficult Challenge For Caregivers Of Young Children...
Facing a difficult challenge for caregivers of young children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) isn
t easy, yet it s hard due to the fact of deciding on the proper treatment plan for the child. Programs
emphasizing usage of structured settings, tight stimulus control, and adult directed instruction are
labeled as current evidence that supports the early educational interventions which is based on the
developmental and applied behavioral analytic principles leading to the models that focus on
opportunities of naturalistic delivery of learning within child led routines. Nevertheless, calibration

approaches to be variable. Limitation is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Testing the effect of every possible combination of evidence based interventions and every possible
factor that might be related to outcomes is logistically unfeasible. Therefore, a research program
informed by theory driven hypotheses is crucial for facilitating a rational use of research resources in
these areas (Vivanti, 2017, p.114 115). The ASD is an early intervention field due to having a relevant
obstacle in the research agenda at a pre paradigmatic stage (Kuhn, 1962) which is a stage where
practices are informed by competing meta theoretical orientations (e.g., behavioral theory, cognitive
theory, and developmental theory) operate in consonance with disparate vocabularies and criteria used
for appraising evidence (Ingersoll, 2010; Smith, 2014). Different treatments of individualization and
combination have to generate testable prognosis, current frameworks of pre paradigmatic should be
developed into full fledged scientific theories which utilize parameters and constraints to formulate
treatment targets and therapeutic change of hypothesized nature. In this research, the hypothesis of
treatment used will oblige the reformulation of rationales treatment in four sets of explicit terms of
explanatory/predictive statements which are (1) logical coherence, (2) falsifiability, (3)

Crawfish Connoisseur-Personal Narrative
What time is it? Crawfish time!
That s right peeps! We are full swing into crawfish season. Although it is still early in the season,
several local restaurants here in the SBCeezy are rocking and rolling with boiled crawfish, corn,
potatoes, mushrooms, sausages, and more.
As a lover of crawfish, I am so grateful that one of my closest friends, Desiree (Owner extraordinare
of Suite Nine1Six) is a lover as well or as she likes to put it, Crawfish Connoisseur . Our goal for this
crawfish season is simple, visit ALL of the crawfish spots in the Shreveport Bossier City area and
document our adventures. We are already failing at documenting our adventure because we have
absolutely no pictures of us together at these spots. In addition to that, I only have two crawfish
pictures from our outings. LOL! Don t worry! As we get deeper in the season, we will get better with
the documentation. Since we don t have many pictures of our crawfish adventures so far, I figured you
guys could enjoy pictures of us during other adventures.
Without further ado, here are the places we have visited so far with our thoughts:

perfect. Sometimes it is spicier than others but still really good. I had never heard of crawfish dip until
Desiree told me about it on one of our Kim s dates. (We ve been multiple times this season.) When I
first tried it, it was just ok to me. Now I m hooked on it. I don t know what all is in the sauce, but it s
definitely mayo and ketchup with some other things. It s VERY similar to Cane s sauce. Right now,

Dark Age Ahead, By Jane Jacobs
In her novel, Dark Age Ahead, Jane Jacobs discusses why five pillars of society are in danger. These
five pillars are families rigged to fail, credentialing versus education, science abandoned, and dumb
downed taxes and self policing subverted. She goes into detail as to why each of these sections of our
society is struggling and is destined for a dark age. However, for the purpose of this paper, I will focus
on education and my agreement as to how educational institutions are focusing on credentialing its
student instead of educating them. When entering a postsecondary education institution, parents and
students alike believe that a good education is a ticket to a successful job after graduation. This is
especially true when the cost ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These numbers can be frightening for students who have to take out loans to finance their education.
However, many students do not understand what is waiting for them after graduation. Students are
encouraged to pick a subject to study that interest them; although this is important, students also need
to look at the job opportunities available in that field of study. For example, many young students
aspire to become teachers, the job definitely has some perks, but finding a full time job in teaching can
be difficult. According to Maclean s 67 per cent of education graduates from Ontario s class of 2009
found themselves unemployed or underemployed in the following year (Dehaas 2011). When there are
little to no job opportunities students begin to feel the pressure and retreat back to what they know,
school. Graduate school seems great and all, but sometimes it is not the right track to take. Students
accumulate more debt, become more specialized and expect higher pay because of their higher
education. The Economist reports, In Canada 80% of postdocs earn $38,600 or less per year before tax
the average salary of a construction worker (The Economist 2010). Students need to weigh their
options before running back to school. It might be best to work at a local restaurant for a year while
looking for a job in your career. When young students are faced with the option to attend university or
college many often sign up without any questions because they do not want

Dances With Wolves Stereotypes
Overcoming Stereotypes in the Movie, Dances With Wolves
Everyone has a preconceived opinion of how a certain ethnic group is in terms of the way they live,
the morals they hold, the way they deal with people different from them, and how they deal with one
another. We come to these conclusions by what we have seen in the media, heard from other people,
or actually experienced ourselves. Most people would consider these opinions to be stereotypes.
Dances with Wolves is a motion picture that deals with and touches on all sides of personal
stereotypes we as American and American Indians have about each other. John Dunbar takes us
through and allows us to see how it is to come into a situation he was not familiar with and then

He also came across intimidated by John because of his courage through this miserable time. He saw
Dunbar as someone he could never be and he didn t see his life worth living anymore.
Going into the movie we did not really get a strong sense of how Dunbar thought of the Indians.
While he was journeying out to the frontier Dunbar asked Timmons, a man that was taking him there,
what he thought about Indians. With no hesitation at all Timmons stated that they were all thieves,
murderers, and savages. Dunbar didn t ever state what he thought of the Indians. I got the impression
that he really did not have an opinion about them because he has never dealt with them. He seemed
like the type of guy that would not assume something without experiencing it for himself. Everyone he
talked to about Indians probably said the same things Timmons did, but for some reason Dunbar was
different from the rest. He seemed to be better than that.
The Indians are finally presented in the movie by the screen scanning across a wide open desert very
peaceful and deserted. In the middle of all this silence the camera fell upon a skeleton of a human that
we assume the Indians killed. This is how the movie sets the tone for how we are going to think about
the Indians. They play with the stereotype that all us Americans think are true about the Indians. At
first we think that we were right, but the story does not end there.
The first encounter that Dunbar has with the Indians is when

Analysis Of The Book His Work Memorabilia
Introduction:
In the first book of his work Memorabilia, Xenophon begins by implicitly claiming that he will
provide an evaluative account of the persuasiveness of the charges laid against Socrates. Hence, to the
extent that the Memorabilia claims to offer a defensive approach towards Socrates, this work bears a
line of continuity with Xenophon s Apology of Socrates to the Jury. The Memorabilia, however, offers
a break with the Apology in terms of the method it employs in delivering the Socratic exoneration; it
is not a work that provides this exoneration by providing its readers with an evaluation of the Socratic
defense, against the charges of impiety and corruption of the youth. It is a work, rather, that delivers
the Socratic exoneration by placing the rationale that has informed the construction of these very
charges, under Xenophon s dialectical and rhetorical scrutiny.
This paper will show how Xenophon s refutation of the corruption charges rests on two simultaneous
and premises, as made evident by the inclusion of the exchange between Alcibiades and Pericles.
Initially, this refutation premises itself on dissociating Socrates from Alcibiades. Secondarily,
however, Xenophon s refutation premises itself on evaluating the ambiguities that exist in the
antithetical relationship, between on the one hand the arguments made by an accuser that all too
readily signifies Socratic pedagogical praxis with having an absolute corrosive influence; and, on the
other hand, the

The American Marketing Association ( Ama )
Introduction
According to the definition from the American Marketing Association (AMA), a brand is a name,
term, sign or combination of them intended to identify goods and services of one or a group of sellers
and distinguish it from competitors.
Brands play different roles in the lives of individuals (Ajgaonkar, 2012). But the roles they play
depends on the individual (Kardes et. al, 2011), due to the fact that we are not all the same. According
to Belk (1988), an individual may use personal possessions such as jewelry or clothing to help define
an individual s sense of self
Levy (1959) and Holam (1981) also support the statement by arguing that clothing has a symbolic
attribute, which is used as a form of social interaction. The aim of this essay is to define the roles that
brands play in my life and how they contribute to my sense of self. This will be accomplished by
drawing on my personal experience with brands and with the support of academic material. To suit the
purpose of this essay, I decided to use three brands; Converses, Playstation and Kurt Geiger.
The Brands
Converses is one of the oldest footwear brands. The brand initially produced shoes for basketball
players but eventually converted to mass market. Converses portray a tough, masculine appeal that
customers would associate with the shoe brand. The brand also falls under the excitement dimension,
which portrays, a spirited, imaginative and daring characteristic (Aaker,

The Process Of Survival In Hatchet By Gary Paulsen
The process of survival is a basis laid upon many significant factors and it can become an educational
experience in which an individual may learn the skill of independent thinking and will inevitably gain
new insights into themselves. These ideas are considered throughout the contemporary novel, Hatchet,
by Gary Paulsen in which the protagonist, Brian, undertakes tremendous trials. Through their
experiences, the protagonist obtains further knowledge about himself, others, and the world.
Through addressing barriers that have been thrust upon them, an individual will learn how to cope
with struggles in everyday life and gain increased knowledge about themselves. Hatchet is a novel
about a young city boy whose plane crashes in the Canadian wilderness while he is on his way to see
his father. All he has is a hatchet and a desperate will to survive. Your emotional state is very
important to how you act and this is evident when Brian was attempting to spear a fool bird. The
quote: They exasperated him to the point where they were driving him insane is a hyperbole that
demonstrates to what degree Brian is being challenged which teaches him better determination and
resilience. This is further reiterated in the quote: In the roaring plane with no pilot, he was alone.
Alone. which shows up in the text just before Brian crashes. This personification and repetition
teaches Brian about perseverance and the ability to be alone. This is also an example of truncated
sentences that

The Effects Of Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation ( Nmes...
The impact of neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) on markers of recovery following
intensive, muscle damaging training
Introduction
For many sports with congested fixtures recovery between games is very important to ensure players
are at their best for the matches. An example of a period where this is particularly true is the Christmas
period with football with most teams facing a high number of games in a short period, sometimes only
2 days between games. Without proper recovery modalities players, can suffer from delayed onset
muscle soreness (DOMS) and from a study by Cheung, Hume Maxwell (2003) it was found that
DOMS reduces athletic performance due to the muscle soreness and the damage done to the muscle
and caused a decrease in strength and power, with a greater effect on strength and power during
eccentric contractions. A study by Byrne, Twist and Eston (2004) discussed the muscle damage caused
by high force eccentric exercise. They found that the stretch shortening cycle(SSC) what occurs
during a drop jump, causes muscle damage in the muscle and therefore contributes to DOMS and is
similar to the damage done by running.
The appearance of Creatine Kinase in the blood following exercise has been used as an indirect
measure of muscle damage and a study by Clarkson Hubal (2002) looked into various different
markers of muscle damage in the blood and CK was investigated compared to other blood markers
they found CK increase much more relative to other

Simple reasoning shows the correlation between productivity and economic growth. The Asian value
of saving and investing rather than wasting money on western hobbies such as drunkenness as stated
by Mark Twain, is very essential for economic growth. The idea of savings has allowed China to stray
away from debt, and ultimately can be applied to understanding China s trade surplus1 of $202 billion
with the United States. This number is more than just a numerical value when applied to the United
States trade deficit1 of $725.8 billion. This surplus depicts the savings and investments of the Chinese
and how both have allowed for not only rapid growth of capital stock, but also the shift from the
traditional agricultural sector to a more modern sector, which ultimately advocates economic growth.
As noted by the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and the Institute for International
Economics , Domestic savings have been more than sufficient to finance the high level of capital
formation that has characterized the last three decades of economic growth. Furthermore, the United
States has a savings1 rate of zero, whereas China s savings1 rate is 34%. The last attribute of the

Farnsworth Paper Works Case Study
Farnsworth Paper Works, Inc. would first like to request a future permit to begin the pelletizing and

of fly ash disposed of on our own property will range from 500 to 700 tons.
According to our recent research and analysis, pelletizing our fly ash waste and selling it to the public

Authority In The Muslim World
The topic of religious authority in the Muslim world has been a debate since the beginning of early
Islam. The debate of authority was centralized over who was able to elucidate the meaning of the texts
of revelation. Over time, the superiority of who had the right to interpret the religious texts and guide
the community changed from the pre modern to the modern period.
The fuqaha were elite religious scholars, or members of a wealthy family, that rose to power in 700

Neo traditionalists base what they do on the four schools of law and gives interpretive authority in
scholars and teachers. It is different from the other trends because they still practice traditional schools
of law. However, they are not any different from pre modern views of fuqaha authority. Warith Deen
Muhammad is a neo traditional social reformer that based his views of how to create a just Muslim
society on different schools to create an American school of Islamic thought. He also emphasized
economic reform and economic empowerment. Revivalists break from Muhammad Abduh s
movement and focused on rational individual s interpretations of the Qur an and Hadith. They also
create their own systems of welfare so they are not dependent on the state. Revivalism is different
from the other trends because it focuses on the individuals and emphasizes the ability of anybody to
read the Qur an and Hadith and decide what they are supposed to do with it. It is different from pre
modern ideas of authority because it strictly relies on the individual and not the collective. Violent
Revivalism represents the groups such as ISIS and Al Qaeda. They reject the idea of a separation of
the group and society and use violence to do so. This group is different from the others because

Similarities And Differences Between John Lockan And...
The English Bill of Rights one of the most important doctrines in History, it influenced other
documents such as the American Bill of Rights. The main thing we will be discussing in this essay is
the differences and similarities between the two Bills Of Rights. In order to allow all of the citizens of
the United States their freedoms that are God given they made the Constitution. It is very clear in the
Constitution that to obtain a more perfect union they established justice, insured tranquility, and
provided for defense. First came the English Bill of Rights which came along in the year 1689. The
English Bill of Rights addressed how to confront protecting the liberties of citizens from misused
power from the government and government authorities. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One thing that both the English Bill Of Rights in the year 1689 and the American Bill of Rights in the
year 1791 have in common is that they both have adaptations, influences, and some sort of similar
views to what John Locke believed. Both the American Bill of Rights and the English Bill of Rights
talked about the freedom of speech, freedom to petition the government or king, right to peaceably
assembly, and the right to bear arms. Also both the Bill of Rights were created to protect the individual
and to limit government powers. In the case of cruel and unusual punishment both the English Bill of
Rights and The American Bill Of rights are against any form of cruel and unusual punishment no
matter the case. What are natural rights of man? Natural rights were defined by philosopher John
Locke as life, liberty, and property. Another one of our natural human rights is to be treated equally
regardless of race, gender, age, or religion. These natural rights are self evident in the way that they do
not just apply to the citizens of America and the United Kingdom but to all people everywhere around

Empathy Research Papers
Empathy is defined as feeling for others and as the ability to understand the feelings, pains, or
hardships of others as if they were your own. While some believe that empathy is a choice and can be
manipulated by what we think about people from a certain, race, nationality, or group, others think
that it is part of a person s personality, and is hard to change. Despite these differences in opinions,
one thing is very clear. Empathy has many benefits that can help a person succeed in their academics,
business, and or life.
One of the main places where empathy comes into play is in school. Here is a quote that explains one
of the benefits of having empathy while in your teenage years, Teenagers who are empathetic tend to

Theories Of Dreams
There are various theories as to why we dream, one of them is activation synthesis hypothesis,
proposed by Alan Hobson and Robert McCarley in 1977. The idea is that the specific neuron activity
that takes place during REM sleep is synthesized into a plot in the cerebral cortex, and dreams are the
brain trying to make sense of the random neural activity that takes place during REM sleep. The oldest
theory is of Freud s psychoanalytic view, dreams are visual representations of suppressed thoughts or
unacceptable desires, ideas, aspirations, or memories. The psychoanalytic view tells us each dream is
crammed with symbolism and says a lot about the unconscious mind when you interpret them. The
interpretations of the dreams are subjective, making

Ashurnasirpal Essay
Nimrud (Kalhu) was a Neo Assyrian city established as the new capital of Assyria by King
Ashurnasirpal II, who reigned from 883 BC to 859 BC (Gates, 170; The Banquet Inscription of
Ashurnasirpal II). In Ashurnasirpal s campaign of territorial expansion of the Assyrian empire, he
expressed his political power by establishing the capital of Nimrud (The Banquet Inscription of
Ashurnasirpal II). In his 24 years as King of Assyria, Ashurnasirpal II carried out numerous
construction projects of temples and other physical monuments in Nimrud, but the Northwest Palace
of Ashurnasirpal II was undoubtedly the most remarkable building erected in the city. The amount of
stone needed to construct Ashurnasirpal s Northwest Palace must have been astounding, not to

At important doorways of the palace including the Throne Room, located immediately south of the
Outer Court of the palace, stood pairs of powerful mythological creatures known as lamassu (Gates,
170 171). The lamassu of Ashurnasirpal s Northwest palace were enormous, stone carved sculptures
with the head of a human and displayed animal like features including the wings of a bird and the
body of a bull. The human head symbolized intellect, the wings symbolized speed, and the body
symbolized strength. Witnessing the creation of the lamassu firsthand, would have been truly
spectacular. The intricate details carved on the lamassu from the beard hair to the feathers must have
been painstaking and time consuming work for the sculptors. The placement of the completed lamassu
at the palace doorways was very crucial since they provided divine protection against the chaos of the
outside world. In addition, they served the purpose of symbolizing Ashurnasirpal s dominance over all
who entered his palace by their immense size and

Lev Vygotsky s Contribution To Socialcultural Theory
Children can learn in many different ways. When a leaner constructs their own understanding of
knowledge through shared experiences it is called constructivism. This is a learning approach that is
practiced by many teachers today and has proven to be a successful method for teaching and learning
(Powell Kalina, 2009). There are two main types of constructivism. This paper will discuss the
cognitive and social categories as well as Lev Vygotsky s main contribution to socialcultural theory.
Cognitive and Social Constructivism
Both cognitive and social constructivism is based on students creating personal meaning when new
information is presented to them (Powell Kalina, 2009). This meaning is what allows a learner to gain
knowledge. This can either be obtained in a cognitive manner or by social interaction. Powell Kalina
(2009) say it is very important that a teacher understand how these learning approaches work in order
for them to benefit the learner. Adding that both theories must be implemented in a way that students
can connect with them (Powell Kalina, 2009).
Cognitive constructivism is ideas that are constructed on an individual level through personal process
(Powell Kalina, 2009). This relates to how a learner constructs and builds their knowledge. According
to developmental psychologist Jean Piaget sensorimotor stage, children begin to discover their
environment around them through their own senses and physical activity and then language

Street Children
INTRODUCTION
One of the miseries brought by the modern civilization is the situation of the street children. In the old
times, and still now in some areas, children worked with their parents and reamed a lot of things from
them; later, children looked after aged parents, and therefore much value was put on children, and
there was strong bond of affection between parents and child. However, now it has changed. Parents
go to work, and children do not go to work with them. Children only cost much money for food and
education. Parents of a poor family are suffering from much financial stress. As the stress becomes
bigger, their love for their children decreases. Then, a home, which should be a place children receive
affection, becomes a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Eighteen outreach workers were recruited and assigned to fifteen cities. These workers did referrals,
conducted actual outreach on the streets, conducted interviews, made initial contact with families or
elatives, and prepared initials diagnosis and action plans. In Manila and Davao City, MSSD provided
temporary shelter, intake, counseling and referral services through drop in centers. Reception and
action centers run by two city governments receive street children picked up by police for various
offenses. Under the City of Man concept of the former First Lady Imelda Marcos, street children were
regarded as nuisance and eyesore, they had to be eliminated from the street. Temporary shelter,
counseling and value inculcation seminars with families were made available. However, these efforts
provided little impact on their situation. Most of them went back on the street after their release form
the shelter since they had no other alternative to earn a living. From 1984 to 1990 two networks of non
government social development agencies were organized for advocacy, capability building and
coordination. These agencies supported rehabilitation programs for street children and prevention
programs that helped deter child trafficking. The first programs started with a committee of five
agencies, under the Council of Welfare Agencies of the Philippines, Inc. (CWAPI), now known as the
National Council for social Development Foundation (NCSDF). By

Perceptive Innovation Essay
Perceptive innovation. Adaptations. Viable resources. Each of these terms can be used to define the
creative and cultural industries affecting our ever changing world. Here in Minnesota, we have
experienced the vastness of our cultural capabilities, and this was portrayed through the Iron Range.
The Iron Range is a collection of mines lining the north shore of Minnesota, and remained as one of
the key stations for work in our state. As time advances, however, we have seen a decline in the
abilities of production and labor due to a decreased need for steel production. Though the Iron Range
has faced difficulties, we may see a rise in it s great, cultural value. The Minnesota Iron Range began,

Watkins stated that art is always reproduceable, and that tradition is alive and exchangeable to art
(CITE WATKINS???). Many artistic advances were made in the 1980 s, possibly affecting the Iron
Range s economy. The article, Our quality of life is still tops, but it s fraying at edges , states quite
pessimistically the failed advances at diversity and culture in Minnesota. The article reflects on
women not standing their ground, the lack of diversity in the cities universities, and the rise of violent
crime. Pollution, over population, and money were also discussed. Karal Ann Marling stated in the
article that, people are trying desperately to hold on to what we once were. She continues, In the 80s,
Minnesota joined the rest of the country and most of what Minnesota has always been is gone.
(Klauda 2). The article also stated as follows: But the 80s were a period when, as was the case
nationwide, the rich got richer and the poor got poorer; an increase in the number of low paying jobs
for Minnesota was coupled with a decrease in some high paying jobs. The pay in many occupations,
most of them low paying service jobs, actually lost ground to inflation during the decade. The same
thing happened to people receiving welfare benefits (Klauda 2). The article, while negative, correctly
expressed the economic concerns at the time. There was an overabundance of confliction regarding
many hot topic issues. It is

Comparing Coates s Between The World And Me
There are many ways of learning. Every person learns differently. However, it is irrefutable that
everybody learns via actions. In Coates novel, Between the World and Me, he discusses his education
through living in the world opposed to just reading about it. The knowledge you earn from
experiencing is in my opinion way more worthwhile than the knowledge you receive from a
classroom. So, what is the difference between the places you may learn? To begin, in the classroom
the history we are taught differs from what we live. We learn about our country s resilience, our
strength, our bravery. Coates makes a point on this he states, America makes no claim to the banal.

The education you get from a traditional classroom is no less important than the lessons you learn by
living. However, real world learning takes what a book gives you and makes you want to do
something. You do not walk out of anatomy and think, wow I want to be a physical therapist. No, you
see Kevin Ware s bone come out of his lower leg and follow his road to recovery. You want to be the
person that fixes someone s favorite player. The lessons the world offers and the ones you take away
from a classroom are very much related. They both shape you in the best way possible but it is up to

Scavengers Narrative
When Loki brought the little white fur ball home, he was nervous about how well they would bond.
The woman at the shelter said it may take time, but to be patient and everything would be ok. Excited
for her arrival, he set up her feeding, sleeping and litter box area, all before he had picked her up from
the shelter. Sitting down with the carrier on his bed, he opened the door. The fur ball stayed inside and
wouldn t come out. Loki waited patiently. Well, patiently for Loki. After a few minutes, he reached in
and pulled her out. Once free of her cage, she immediately ran up his arm, onto his shoulder and
underneath the back of his long, black, hair...and stayed there. Trying to reach for her, the kitten s
claws gripped his shirt and would not let go. Sighing, he reached for a book and leaned back against
the headboard. After a while, he felt her begin to purr. He smiled. The fur ball was a quick study, she
mastered her litter box and her food bowls like a champ, and Loki praised her for it. Who s a good ...

something, but all he could do was exhale in defeat, and watch her unbury herself. When she finally

wasn t even a chastisement. She looked up at him, and he, at her. It was a standoff. Finally, Mini
jumped off the bed, pranced over to him and hopped up on his lap, where she proceeded to crawl up
Loki s chest, forcing him to lean back in the chair, then she curled up and fell asleep right under his
chin, purring. This was not what I had in mind, little

Factors That Has An Effect On Conformity
Conformity is the act of matching attitudes, beliefs and behaviours to group norms. Factors that has an
effect on conformity can be culture, age, gender or larger group size. Zimbardo, Johnson, Hamilton
(2014) explained that culture includes language, beliefs, customs, values and traditions. They
mentioned that the social and cultural situation in which the person is rooted to can sometimes be the
strongest factor that influences behaviour. For example, some culture places importance on
punctuality which in turn influences behaviour, such as procrastination or lack of thereof. Indeed, one
of the psychology perspective that psychologists focus on is sociocultural perspective, whereby social
and cross cultural psychologists have been studying how these social processes differ from one culture
to another. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Secondly, cross cultural differences in conformity exist when individuals face normative group
pressure to conform.
In this study, Indians born from India and Americans born in the United States were chosen as
participants. Their level of collectivism and individualism were measured using Self Construal Scale
and was found that Americans were significantly more individualistic than the Indian participants.
Research findings by Oh show that Indians show a higher level of conformity than the Americans.
Indeed, people from more group oriented cultures of Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East
practice the tradition of fitting in with the group and promoting social harmony (Zimbardo, Johnson,

Education Is Not A Finite Subject
Education is not a finite subject, but an ever expanding conglomerate. Today we view success as going
to school, getting a job, and having a family as success in the system. Schools see grades as progress
of education. One has to know all options and succeed in truly understanding the subject that interests
them the most. Jumping forward a couple of centuries kids are told to not major in art because it will
not financially sustain them. It is too unstable and unpredictable. If we go through life learning things
we aren t passionate about, then where is the fulfillment? Education thrives on being a habit,

With the help of an education, anyone can seek their interest. People choose their own directions in
life with this; they can set goals for themselves and make great efforts to achieve them. Education is
surrounding all aspects of life and is transferred from one generation to another. So, if the present
generation is educated, the forthcoming one is to be even more educated. Our generations will lead the
society and country. Education has been recognized as the priority area since it improves the lives of
others. People learn today, but tomorrow they will either lead or teach.
Globally speaking, people lacking proper education generally cannot differentiate between right and
wrong. They can be misguided unless guided correctly through education. The impacts on the entire
globe are very apparent and crucial. People can become a troublesome element to the rest of the world
if not properly taken care of. Thus, the accessibility and affordability of an education are significant to
global development. There have been an increased number of juveniles who, before being sentenced,
had not been working or going to school (Sturove 37). From the years 1987 90 the number of
juveniles going to school did not add up to more than twenty percent. In 1993 this number
increasingly jumped to fifty percent. According to Sturove, correctional facilities contain more than
40,000 juveniles; for certain kinds of crimes the increase in

Essay on the Rental Heart
Most people have tried it before, and those that haven t are either too young to have tried it, or simply
just heartless. It s terrible and beautiful all at the same time, which is probably why it s such a great
topic for stories. However, getting your heart broken at some point in your life is inevitable. For some,
it happens more than once. This is the case for our main character in the short story The Rental Heart ,
by Kirsty Logan.
To begin with, the reader has no clue as to whether the main character is a boy or a girl. In my head
though, I got the image of a girl. The story is about this girl, who gets her heart broken over and over
again, by boys as well as girls (she is bisexual). It s not really a problem for her, because she ... Show
more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Maybe it s simply a whole different world! She also uses many symbols, especially to express how
love feels to the main character. The heart was dusty and tarnished and utterly empty . This shows the
reader just how heart broken she was. Her heart hasn t felt real love in a long time, so it is dusty. It has
been abused many times, so it is tarnished. And because of all this, it leaves her with nothing more
than an empty space. Maybe the island that she says she went to for a year isn t really an island that
she actually went to either. Maybe she just closed herself down mentally, unable to deal with the world
with a broken heart. That could have felt to other people, as if she was actually away on an island.
What seems to be pulling this story towards science fiction the most however, seems to be the fact that
even though it s all clearly one big metaphor for getting your heart broken and mending it again, it s
nowhere close to how reality is. Heartbreaks come in all shapes and sizes. But in real life you can t
just go well, tough luck, she wasn t the one for me, so I m not going to be sad about it . Healing a
broken heart takes time in the real, non fictional world. Just changing it like it s nothing, that s the real
science fiction in the story.
All in all, we should be glad that we don t have these kinds of rental services available. It would be
way too boring. What makes life exciting is that it s fragile; you never know

  • 2. The Law Of Conservation Of Energy This is my Theory: God desires to be relational and recreate himself, but it can t be done because he stands alone, omnipotent. So he continuously creates, hopefully lovingly, yet he continuously has to substitute himself reproducing only himself again. Having beside him... nothing but God. This is why he is praised forever and ever amen. But why he s sorry when he has to wipe out the face of the earth with the flood during Noah s time is that he is sorry that nothing is like him. What an honest and sincere claim for the God of the universe! Yet he strives to still create, loving his creations till substitution (of himself). Because some of his creation had to be destroyed due to God s desire to be relational, yet loathe of sin. God can not recreate himself (Law of Conservation of Energy: Energy can neither be created nor destroyed). There is only one God. That is why there is the law of conservation of energy the energy therein can neither be created nor destroyed. This is what I believe. It happens to correlate with what author of engaging God s world Mr. Cornelius Plantiga Jr. has to say. Plantiga, exclaims that love and hope are the two most pertinent things we long for as humans/Christians. Is he right? Of course. Can anyone deny when our master Jesus spoke the two most important commandments: to love the Lord your God with all your heart and to love your neighbor as yourself? In doing these two things what comes to your life is one everlasting happiness and two ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Effect Of Maternal Vocalizations On Domestic, Post... Introduction The focus of this survey is the role of maternal vocalizations in domestic, post parturient goats. The subtleties of call characteristics and recognition have yet to be researched in depth, but recent studies have shown that these calls are more individualized than previously supposed. Goats are a highly social, vocal species, and does will use a variety of vocal and non vocal behaviors to establish a connection with her kid(s). The bond between mother and infant is near immediate as few as five to ten minutes are all that is needed to establish the connection and care is exclusive. Immediately after parturition, licking is accompanied by numerous low and high pitched bleats, instigating the mother kid bond (Poindron et ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As early as fifteen hours after birth, kids will leave their mothers to sequester themselves to a hiding spot, while the mother eats, rests, and ruminates. During this hiding phase, it will spend very little time with her within the first week of life, except to nurse (Lickliter Heron). During at least the first two days of life for the neonate, vocal recognition tends to be unidirectional. That is, a kid may recognize its mother s call, but a doe may not recognize her kid s call. Mother kid interactions have been found to be primarily instigated by the mother, while the offspring is in its hiding phase (Lickliter Heron). The doe will seek out the area in which her offspring hides and let out low pitch contact calls, to which the kid(s) will often respond with high pitched bleats and come out of hiding to nurse. After the initial two to four day delay, kids develop a bleat contour, a modulation of a small range of frequencies, which individualizes the kids calls (Lenhardt). Using this individualizing cue, does are able to locate their offspring more accurately, in hiding or, later, in a herd. The ability to imprint vocalizations, first in one direction and then in both directions (mother to kid and vice versa), allows for the species to effectively utilize hiding behavior. From an ultimate standpoint, this increases likelihood of survival. The neonates will remain relatively safe, concealed from predators, while the mother has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Tension In Rwanda Genocide World History II Colonial Legacies Research Paper In 1994, a brutal battle of discrimination and hatred erupted. In the central African country of Rwanda, a long brewing tension broke out in a battle between the Tutsi and Hutu. Lasting approximately 100 days, the conflict forever changed the lives of 40% of the Rwandan population. About 800,000 Tutsi were killed and many refugees fled the country ( Rwandan Genocide ). It was a grueling fight, based on land and power, that all started with a lopsided hierarchy created by the Belgians that loomed over the heads of the Rwandan people. This included higher class advantages to the Tusi in government administration, as well as the greater employment and educational opportunities than Hutu people (Straus) Their civil balance was starting to become undone. Over the years, the negative effects of the Belgian rule started to multiply. Their leaders conducted a system throughout the country that supplied the Rwandan people with identity cards. The Belgians made it so ethnicity was the defining feature of their Rwanda existence and stereotyping began to take over the identities of the people. This scheme of separation hit the everyone that lived in this country; the Tutsi, the Hutu and a group called the Twa which only took up 1% of the population. ( Genocide in Rwanda. United). An in 1971, Starbucks opened their first coffee shop in Settle, Washington (Starbucks, 2018). Now, CEO Howard Schultz first visited the Starbucks coffee shop back in 1981 (Starbucks, 2018). In 1987, Schultz with some local investors purchased Starbucks and created the coffee shop known today (Starbucks, 2018). The following study is a situational analysis assessment of the external environment of Starbucks (Ferrell Hartline, 2014). The external factors include competition, economic growth, political trends, technology advancements, and sociocultural trends (Ferrell Hartline, 2014). Social and cultural influences have a profound effect on how consumers live and determine what, how, when, and where consumers buy products (Ferrell Hartline, 2014). In summary, there are some opportunities for Starbucks to grow their business. First, Starbucks could globally expand outside the United States to places like China, Brazil, and India. Second, Starbucks has the opportunity to co brand with a food service or retailer. Third, increase Starbucks brands outside of Starbuck stores. • 7. A Difficult Challenge For Caregivers Of Young Children... Facing a difficult challenge for caregivers of young children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) isn t easy, yet it s hard due to the fact of deciding on the proper treatment plan for the child. Programs emphasizing usage of structured settings, tight stimulus control, and adult directed instruction are labeled as current evidence that supports the early educational interventions which is based on the developmental and applied behavioral analytic principles leading to the models that focus on opportunities of naturalistic delivery of learning within child led routines. Nevertheless, calibration with intervention gains of treatment approaches from substantial to modest and resulting in treatment approaches to be variable. Limitation is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Testing the effect of every possible combination of evidence based interventions and every possible factor that might be related to outcomes is logistically unfeasible. Therefore, a research program informed by theory driven hypotheses is crucial for facilitating a rational use of research resources in these areas (Vivanti, 2017, p.114 115). The ASD is an early intervention field due to having a relevant obstacle in the research agenda at a pre paradigmatic stage (Kuhn, 1962) which is a stage where practices are informed by competing meta theoretical orientations (e.g., behavioral theory, cognitive theory, and developmental theory) operate in consonance with disparate vocabularies and criteria used for appraising evidence (Ingersoll, 2010; Smith, 2014). Different treatments of individualization and combination have to generate testable prognosis, current frameworks of pre paradigmatic should be developed into full fledged scientific theories which utilize parameters and constraints to formulate treatment targets and therapeutic change of hypothesized nature. Although it is still early in the season, several local restaurants here in the SBCeezy are rocking and rolling with boiled crawfish, corn, potatoes, mushrooms, sausages, and more. As a lover of crawfish, I am so grateful that one of my closest friends, Desiree (Owner extraordinare of Suite Nine1Six) is a lover as well or as she likes to put it, Crawfish Connoisseur . Our goal for this crawfish season is simple, visit ALL of the crawfish spots in the Shreveport Bossier City area and document our adventures. We are already failing at documenting our adventure because we have absolutely no pictures of us together at these spots. In addition to that, I only have two crawfish pictures from our outings. LOL! Don t worry! As we get deeper in the season, we will get better with the documentation. These five pillars are families rigged to fail, credentialing versus education, science abandoned, and dumb downed taxes and self policing subverted. She goes into detail as to why each of these sections of our society is struggling and is destined for a dark age. However, for the purpose of this paper, I will focus on education and my agreement as to how educational institutions are focusing on credentialing its student instead of educating them. This is especially true when the cost ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These numbers can be frightening for students who have to take out loans to finance their education. However, many students do not understand what is waiting for them after graduation. Students are encouraged to pick a subject to study that interest them; although this is important, students also need to look at the job opportunities available in that field of study. For example, many young students aspire to become teachers, the job definitely has some perks, but finding a full time job in teaching can be difficult. According to Maclean s 67 per cent of education graduates from Ontario s class of 2009 found themselves unemployed or underemployed in the following year (Dehaas 2011). When there are little to no job opportunities students begin to feel the pressure and retreat back to what they know, school. Graduate school seems great and all, but sometimes it is not the right track to take. Students accumulate more debt, become more specialized and expect higher pay because of their higher education. The Economist reports, In Canada 80% of postdocs earn $38,600 or less per year before tax the average salary of a construction worker (The Economist 2010). With no hesitation at all Timmons stated that they were all thieves, murderers, and savages. Dunbar didn t ever state what he thought of the Indians. I got the impression that he really did not have an opinion about them because he has never dealt with them. He seemed like the type of guy that would not assume something without experiencing it for himself. Everyone he talked to about Indians probably said the same things Timmons did, but for some reason Dunbar was different from the rest. He seemed to be better than that. The Indians are finally presented in the movie by the screen scanning across a wide open desert very peaceful and deserted. In the middle of all this silence the camera fell upon a skeleton of a human that we assume the Indians killed. This is how the movie sets the tone for how we are going to think about the Indians. They play with the stereotype that all us Americans think are true about the Indians. At first we think that we were right, but the story does not end there. The Ending to Eugene O Neil s Long Day s Journey Into Night It is understandable that so many people in our class did not find the last act of Eugene O Neill s Long Day s Journey Into Night a satisfying one; there is no tidy ending, no goodbye kisses or murder confessions; none of the charaters leave the stage with flowers in their hands or with smiles on their faces and none of the characters give explanatory monologues after the curtain falls, as we ve become accustomed to by reading so much Shakespeare. In the beginnings of the play we are given the extreme circumstances surrounding the family that day: Edmund is to be diagnosed with consumption, Mary is to fall deeper and deeper into an addiction from which she supposedly recovered, and each of the characters is to unravel under the strain that all the stammering has placed upon them. We are given the impression that the events of the fourth act has never happened before; for example, even though he has lived with his father for more than twenty years, Edmund has never heard him speak the way he speaks to him in his final act, when his father tells him of how miserable he is now and how he was so muh happier as a struggling, young actor than as a commerial success. • 14. Analysis Of The Book His Work Memorabilia Introduction: In the first book of his work Memorabilia, Xenophon begins by implicitly claiming that he will provide an evaluative account of the persuasiveness of the charges laid against Socrates. Hence, to the extent that the Memorabilia claims to offer a defensive approach towards Socrates, this work bears a line of continuity with Xenophon s Apology of Socrates to the Jury. The Memorabilia, however, offers a break with the Apology in terms of the method it employs in delivering the Socratic exoneration; it is not a work that provides this exoneration by providing its readers with an evaluation of the Socratic defense, against the charges of impiety and corruption of the youth. It is a work, rather, that delivers the Socratic exoneration by placing the rationale that has informed the construction of these very charges, under Xenophon s dialectical and rhetorical scrutiny. This paper will show how Xenophon s refutation of the corruption charges rests on two simultaneous and premises, as made evident by the inclusion of the exchange between Alcibiades and Pericles. Initially, this refutation premises itself on dissociating Socrates from Alcibiades. Secondarily, however, Xenophon s refutation premises itself on evaluating the ambiguities that exist in the antithetical relationship, between on the one hand the arguments made by an accuser that all too readily signifies Socratic pedagogical praxis with having an absolute corrosive influence; and, on the other hand, the ... The American Marketing Association ( Ama ) Introduction According to the definition from the American Marketing Association (AMA), a brand is a name, term, sign or combination of them intended to identify goods and services of one or a group of sellers and distinguish it from competitors. Brands play different roles in the lives of individuals (Ajgaonkar, 2012). But the roles they play depends on the individual (Kardes et. al, 2011), due to the fact that we are not all the same. According to Belk (1988), an individual may use personal possessions such as jewelry or clothing to help define an individual s sense of self Levy (1959) and Holam (1981) also support the statement by arguing that clothing has a symbolic attribute, which is used as a form of social interaction. The aim of this essay is to define the roles that brands play in my life and how they contribute to my sense of self. This will be accomplished by drawing on my personal experience with brands and with the support of academic material. To suit the purpose of this essay, I decided to use three brands; Converses, Playstation and Kurt Geiger. The Brands Converses is one of the oldest footwear brands. The brand initially produced shoes for basketball players but eventually converted to mass market. Converses portray a tough, masculine appeal that customers would associate with the shoe brand. • 16. The Process Of Survival In Hatchet By Gary Paulsen The process of survival is a basis laid upon many significant factors and it can become an educational experience in which an individual may learn the skill of independent thinking and will inevitably gain new insights into themselves. These ideas are considered throughout the contemporary novel, Hatchet, by Gary Paulsen in which the protagonist, Brian, undertakes tremendous trials. Through their experiences, the protagonist obtains further knowledge about himself, others, and the world. Through addressing barriers that have been thrust upon them, an individual will learn how to cope with struggles in everyday life and gain increased knowledge about themselves. Hatchet is a novel about a young city boy whose plane crashes in the Canadian wilderness while he is on his way to see his father. All he has is a hatchet and a desperate will to survive. Your emotional state is very important to how you act and this is evident when Brian was attempting to spear a fool bird. The quote: They exasperated him to the point where they were driving him insane is a hyperbole that demonstrates to what degree Brian is being challenged which teaches him better determination and resilience. This is further reiterated in the quote: In the roaring plane with no pilot, he was alone. Alone. which shows up in the text just before Brian crashes. This personification and repetition teaches Brian about perseverance and the ability to be alone. This is also an example of truncated sentences that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The impact of neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) on markers of recovery following intensive, muscle damaging training Introduction For many sports with congested fixtures recovery between games is very important to ensure players are at their best for the matches. An example of a period where this is particularly true is the Christmas period with football with most teams facing a high number of games in a short period, sometimes only 2 days between games. Without proper recovery modalities players, can suffer from delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) and from a study by Cheung, Hume Maxwell (2003) it was found that DOMS reduces athletic performance due to the muscle soreness and the damage done to the muscle and caused a decrease in strength and power, with a greater effect on strength and power during eccentric contractions. A study by Byrne, Twist and Eston (2004) discussed the muscle damage caused by high force eccentric exercise. They found that the stretch shortening cycle(SSC) what occurs during a drop jump, causes muscle damage in the muscle and therefore contributes to DOMS and is similar to the damage done by running. The appearance of Creatine Kinase in the blood following exercise has been used as an indirect measure of muscle damage and a study by Clarkson Hubal (2002) looked into various different markers of muscle damage in the blood and CK was investigated compared to other blood markers they found CK increase much more relative to other ... When a leaner constructs their own understanding of knowledge through shared experiences it is called constructivism. There are two main types of constructivism. This paper will discuss the cognitive and social categories as well as Lev Vygotsky s main contribution to socialcultural theory. Cognitive and Social Constructivism Both cognitive and social constructivism is based on students creating personal meaning when new information is presented to them (Powell Kalina, 2009). This meaning is what allows a learner to gain knowledge. This can either be obtained in a cognitive manner or by social interaction. Powell Kalina (2009) say it is very important that a teacher understand how these learning approaches work in order for them to benefit the learner. Adding that both theories must be implemented in a way that students can connect with them (Powell Kalina, 2009).
