Law Enforcement Assignment
The US has three main information resources, which collect statistics regarding the employment status
of law enforcement officers together with other relevant evidence that is unique to every collection.
For instance, the U.S Census Bureau, the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS), and FBI information
gathering programs have varied purposes, respondent universes, data definitions, and information
collection approaches (Banks, Hendrix, Hickman, Kycklhahn, 2016). According to the U.S.
Department of Justice Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (OCPS) (2009), in America,
every jurisdiction that is served by nearly 18,000 local and state law implementation agencies regulate
the number of non sworn and sworn police officers that it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Accordingly, Wilson and Weiss (2014) conducted a literature review for secondary information and
interviews for primary data geared towards establishing and assessing the extant experiences and
trends in staffing allocation. The interviews were undertaken among practitioners drawn from 20
varied agencies in America and a national focus group, which included 21 staffing professionals
(Wilson Weiss, 2014). The article also examined the weaknesses and strengths pertinent to alternative
techniques to determine staffing needs and to manage demand for workload while, at the same time,
minimizing usage of sworn officers. They concluded that effective and efficient approaches consider
performance and workload when staffing.
2.2 Police Staffing and the Approaches Used 2.2.1 Police staffing. According to Reaves (2012), in
September the year 2008, the federal organizations recruited close to120, 000 law enforcement
officers on full time basis; these officers were authorized to carry forearms and make arrests in the US.
Ideally, this was an equivalent of having 40 police officers against 100,000 citizens. As such, the
number of officers at the federal level in America augmented by nearly 15% representing 15,000 from
2004 through 2008 (Reaves, 2012). In addition, Reaves (2012) ascertains that the federal
organizations recruited about 1,600 officers in 2008, particularly in Puerto Rico. Notably, the US has

Like-A-Girl Campaign
I am very familiar with P G s Always Like a Girl campaign. I remember watching that commercial
and acknowledging the greatness behind it. As a tomboy growing up, I was always at the receiving
end of jokes because I was not girly enough; this campaign s initial interpretation of stereotypical
responses regarding girls was eye opening. Seriously, when did being a girl become an insult? My
daughter was in high school when this campaign was published. Even my teenager, the star basketball
player, acknowledged the importance of this campaign because she worked with young girls in the
summer and always told them they could be anything they wanted to be because being a girl did not
make you weak. P G was able to change insulted to empowered, simply by bringing ... Show more

Not only was P G recognized and awarded for their contribution of marketing effectively and using
their platform for good, but the multiple millions of views demonstrate the magnitude and importance
of the message and its acceptance. The brand found its purpose, recognized the need to communicate
it to the world, and understood the importance of unusual media placements (Solomon, 2017). The
company took a negative view and transformed the mentality; further influencing other brands to do
the same.
Of course, the feminine care product brand is not without challenges. In an industry where there is
clear competition, creating a sustainable marketing plan is essential. The Always brand brought about
change in the mindset of many people, as well as profits for the company, all because of awareness
and redefining what it meant to be a girl. Marketing feminine hygiene products, particularly to girls
who are hitting puberty at younger ages, can be a challenge (Patel, 2014). The Always brand
acknowledged this challenge and responded perfectly with their purpose driven

The Mongol Empire And The Empire Of The Mongol Empire
Mongols Chinggis Khan founded the Mongol Empire in 1206 A.D. this was the rise of nomadic
pastoral societies in the north. The Mongol s established the largest contiguous empire in the Neolithic
era. The Mongol Empire was notable for their military power, their diplomatic protection, and safe
travel. These notable features aided the growth and expansion of the empire. The Mongols conquest
left a trail of blood and destruction. For a century, the Mongol Empire cultivated for the first time East
West contact. I will further discuss the primary sources and secondary sources of the Mongol Empire.
The Mongols encouraged trade and often moved craftsmen and other specialists from one place to
another. Trade was essential to the Mongols, they started issuing a paizi (modern day passports) to
government officials, foreigners they traded with, and the nobles who would travel along the Mongol
territory. The Mongol Empire encouraged a wider distribution of good and idea, so officials made sure
the travel routes were as safe as possible. In addition, commodities such as silk could be purchased at
lower prices because the cost of travel and security decreased. The primary reason for these passports
was to ensure safety along the trade routes of the Mongol empire. The paizi is a metal plaque made of
iron and silver inlay, it had to worn around the neck, so it was visible. The inscription says, by the
strength of eternal heaven, an edict of the Emperor. He who has not respect shall

Though you may not have any obvious health problems, there are still many ways that people,
especially ladies, can be afflicted. Tiredness can be an affliction, one that needs to be loosened like a

Abraham Lincoln Research Paper Outline
Undoubtedly, Abraham Lincoln is among the most celebrated figures in American history. Lincoln
reshaped the United States for the lasting benefit of all Americans. Lincoln fought for and defended
the rights of the people as a lawyer, as a member of the Illinois and United States House of
Representatives, and as the President of the United States of America. I respect Abraham Lincoln, the
sixteenth President of the United States, for his dedication, courage, and leadership. Abraham Lincoln
s beginning was poor and hard. Lincoln was born in a small cabin in rural Kentucky. By working on
his father s farm, Lincoln learned determination and dedication. Although receiving a minor

Pros And Cons Of Native American Mascots
Is it okay to have Native American images as mascots? Some of the mascots names are Red Skins,
Braves and Cleveland Indians. They chose these mascots because they thought that they would be
intimidating to the other team. Imagine having a pink bunny for a mascot; other teams are not going to
think that that is intimidating. Using Native American images and names in professional, collegiate and
high school sports does not reinforce and perpetuate stereotypes because it is not harmful and it only it
representing school pride. Mascots are not harmful to Native Americans. The AP reports, At Florida
State, Wetherell said the NCAA was trying to embarrass the school for using its nickname, even
though the Seminole Tribe of Florida has given the university permission to continue using it, (AP
2005). None of the Mascots display discriminatory or abusive behavior towards other members of
another race. The Native Americans do not feel that it displays them in a negative light. Many sports

Gatorade Research Paper
In the 2012 NFL season, NFL teams drank 1,800,144 bottles of Thirst Quencher. Gatorade had been in
football since the athletes were doing strenuous exercises, they continually battled dehydration in the
Florida heat (Wickford). Our bodies sweat system relies on salts to pump water onto our skin to
evaporate and cool us off (Wilcox). But is Gatorade as healthy as they make it out to be?
Gatorade says that their drink was born in a Lab (Jim F). In early summer of 1965, a University of
Florida assistant coach sat down with a team of university physicians and asked them to determine
why so many of his players were being affected by heat and heat related illnesses, (Gatorade). They
soon discovered two key factors that were causing Gator players to fall apart: the fluids and
electrolytes the players lost through sweat were not being replaced, and the large amounts of
carbohydrates the players bodies used for energy were not being replenished (Gatorade). The
researchers then took their findings into the lab, and made a new, precisely balanced carbohydrate

her article, Sports Drinks: More Harm Than Good?, If your goal is to lose weight, drinking calories is

new Jersey cannot afford. Several of the articles discussed the aspect of cost, from electricity, to
janitorial services, to adding additional meals and meals cost, along with salary and supplies. Cost are
estimated to be $1,200 per student, per year for most school districts (Sanders, A., 2014). Schools in

Essay about First-Person Narration Techniques in Cathedral
A first person narration provides an interesting perspective on the main action of a story. A narrator
can express his/her own thoughts and feelings, which in turn develops a more personal and relatable
story to the reader. Raymond Carver often uses this literary point of view tactic in his short stories to
reveal the traits of the narrator. In Cathedral, Carver uses conversational tone and diction to reveal the
narrator s character; which is prejudicial at first, but becomes empathic by the end. Knowing this
narrator s characteristics facilitates the reader s understanding of major components of the story, such
as the narrator s hostility to Robert, his loser like sociality, and the climax of opening up to Robert.
One way Carver ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This bitterness and sarcasm is revealed as strong characteristics of the narrator. Throughout the
majority of the story, the narrator continues shows his distaste for any happy situation. Much like the
hyphenated asides, Carver implements fragmented sentences behind description, to show the narrator
pausing for a moment of color commentary. I saw my wife laughing as she parked the car. I saw her
get out of the car and shut the door. She was still wearing a smile. Just amazing (Cathedral 214). This
quote illustrates the narrator s inclination to state his subjective disbelief of a situation with which he
does not agree. The sour statement, just amazing, while unnecessary to the storyline, depicts exactly
this. Carver specifically makes the writing seem hostile and cynical, by his use of conversational tone.
As a result, we connect these characteristics of the writing with that of the narrator. Through the
author s use of diction, more aspects of the narrator s personality are revealed. Simply from word
choice, we learn that the narrator is prejudicial towards others, and jealous of other men s relationships
with his wife. When facing the situation of Robert coming to town to visit his wife, the narrator
blatantly expresses that a blind man in my house was not something I looked forward to (Carver 209).
This repeated substitution of blind man

Freud s Stages Of Development
1. From birth to a year and six months, Freud theorized that children go through an oral stage. During
this stage, children s pleasure focuses primarily on the mouth with chewing and biting as the main
sources of stimulation. Too much or too little satisfaction at this stage may cause the children to smoke
or eat often as an adult. Next, children go through the anal stage from age one year and six months
until age three. During this stage, pleasure stems mainly from bathroom activities as children deal with
their want for power. In adulthood, anal fixation may cause anal retention or an extreme need for
cleanliness. At three to six years, children experience the phallic period. The phallic period focuses on
pleasure stimulation from the genitals. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Nandina Research Paper
Nandina (Nandina domestica) is also known as heavenly bamboo, although it has no relation to the
bamboo plant. It takes the nickname from the fact that its foliage bears an uncanny resemblance to that
of bamboo plants. Found in United States Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zones 6 through
9, nandina is a woody shrub with year round interest. It bears flowers in the spring and berries in the
fall when its foliage turns red, gold and orange. In warmer climates it is evergreen. One of the most
important aspects of nandina care is annual pruning. Time Frame Nandina produces flowers in late
spring or summer, which make way for green berries. These ripen to a striking red color in autumn
and remain on the plant throughout fall and sometimes through winter. While spring pruning is
appropriate for many shrubs, if you prune the nandina too late in the spring, you run the risk of not

Another way of how to heal blisters fast is the use of apple cider vinegar. This vinegar has strong
antibacterial and antifungal properties facilitates faster healing. Simply mix a half cup of apple cider
vinegar with 3 teaspoons of castor oil and apply it to the blister several times a day.
● Soak It In Green Tea:
For blisters that have swollen, Green Tea has anti inflammatory properties to help bring down the
swelling. Just boil 3 tea bags, and toss in a teaspoon of baking soda (anti septic). When cool, soak the
afflicted area in the tea and baking soda for fifteen minutes. If you have difficulty soaking the area,
just apply the mixture directly to the blister with a cotton

Tommy Vladek
According to many different philosophers such as Descartes and Locke there has to be more to the
mind than just the materialistic view. There are many different parts to the brain which make it a
whole according to science, so thinking about the brain from a philosophical standpoint, there must be
different parts to make up the minds identity. According to John Perry, the memories and personality
traits as well as beliefs and intellectual skills make up a personal identity and the body is just a vessel
that holds this identity (TP, 197). Certain people might believe that if one were to get a brain
transplant they would wake up the same person they were before they went in for the surgery. I, on the
other hand concur with Perry and the idea ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From a legal standpoint, Tommy would still be Vladek s son based on physical attributes and his
genetics. It could be argued that he is still Tommy just with a change of parts; it would be like he was
getting a new kidney or a heart with the only downfall being that he developed a physiological change
(TP, 194). Given this perspective Tommy would have to remain with Vladek because he is technically
still legally and genetically his son. The legality of this situation would be especially complicated
because there is hypothetically two boys in one. Although I have to disagree with the legal side
because if the boy were to wake up as Sam it would be traumatizing for him to not only look like
another boy but be torn from his previous home and be forced to live with a stranger. Do you think
that the parents made the right decision not only legally but ethically as

American English and British English The usage of the many forms of English dialects have often led
to miscommunication. The knowledge gained beforehand can help to limit that, and to provide those

prove useful, words and phrases to avoid, and many key differences between American English and
British English. Many useful words and phrases in the English language can mean many different
things in different dialects. Therefore it is imperative that we as guests and visitors have prior

How To Become A Writer
I have been asked what exactly I am doing with this blog, by several readers.
I am getting warmed up for now, working on my voice, working at the practice of writing. I have
always kicked around the idea of writing a memoir, but I struggle with discipline, structure, and
framing. I am hoping to gain clarity and direction as I write and share. The response from friends,
family, and the public is fueling my momentum. I am grateful to be welcomed into a community of
writers and readers. The last time I was part of a writing community I was attending a magnet high
school for the arts. The writers in my class helped me find my voice and save myself, during the most
pivotal year of my life up until now.

What s going on, you guys?
I was in a ratty burgundy recliner that day, a coveted spot. I had fallen asleep as had several others, on
couches, leaning against one another. Many of them went to the same, New Haven high school. They
went around the room, all complaining of late nights spent studying for their semester finals, some up
until two in the morning. My school was on a different exam schedule. As everyone chimed in, I knew
my silence would be noted. I planned on claiming I was sleepy because of exams as well. None of
them would have known. I did not want to lie about my home, my childhood, my mother not one more

I sighed deeply. I was up until 4 last night. I stopped, maybe that was honest enough.

The Military Rule Of Burma
The land on which modern day Myanmar stands could be traced back to Pagan Dynasty. Britain
gradually took control of Myanmar in 1824. Burma was able to gain its independence from the Great
Britain in 1948. Burma became a parliamentary democracy, granting autonomous states to minorities.
In 1962 Union Revolutionary Council overthrew the civilian government and suspended the
constitution. As a result, the country was under military rule from 1962 to 1988. The military
government transitioned to a socialist economy, nationalized all major industries and reduced the
foreign influence. Years of military rule and suppression and a failed attempt to move to a multi party
election system led to the imposition of economic sanctions to Myanmar. A new constitution was
voted in by the public in 2008, that established a parliamentary system where the military has the 50%
of the seats. The military government was officially dissolved in 2011, and a former member, Thein
Sein was inaugurated as president and PM, convening a largely civilian parliament and begun
political, economic and parliamentary reforms. Thein Sein administration brought a period of reform
and enabled the return of international engagement. Through series of reforms such as pardoning to
most political prisoners, relaxation of censorship and efforts toward peace with rebel groups. A second
wave of economic reforms was announced that reduced the role of the government in sectors such as
energy, forestry, health care,

Christian Influences In Beowulf
With everything you read, from Greek Mythology to Science non fiction books, there is always some
form of influences on it. The same goes with Beowulf, Beowulf was a part of Norse Mythology and
was told by story tellers (like Homer) and singers, and was finally written down by a Christian monk
in the 11th century. So, while most of the information is correct, there is some other influences from
Christian views (during the time of Beowulf, most people where polytheistic.). In this paper you find
the influences and how they changed the story s background and story. The Anglo Saxon people where
mainly polytheistic, or of pagan views, so while they look up to many Gods, the epic looks to one God

Questions On Long Tail Keywords Long Essay
Long tail keywords Long tail keywords are those three and four keyword phrases which are very, very
specific to whatever you are selling. You see, whenever a customer uses a highly specific search
phrase, they tend to be looking for exactly what they are actually going to buy. In virtually every case,
such very specific searches are far more likely to convert to sales than general generic searches that
tend to be geared more toward the type of research that consumers typically do prior to making a
buying decision. To help illustrate this phenomenon, let s take a look at the typical step by step buying
path that a customer travels on the way to a making a purchase. 1.Consumer becomes aware of a
product. 2.Consumer seeks information about that product in preparation for possible purchase.
3.Consumer evaluates alternatives to product (features, pricing, etc...). 4.Consumer makes their
purchase decision. 5.Consumer pulls out their credit card and completes the transaction. 6.Consumer
then evaluates the product after buying it and decides if they want to keep or return it. Using the above
six step path to a purchase as our model, you can probably already see that you want to target the
consumer who is somewhere around step four... Consumer makes their purchase decision. Because
once they have made their decision to buy something, that s when they start using very specific search
phrases to seek out their target purchase. Highly specific multi word phrases tend to be far

Essay on Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion
Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion Ocean thermal energy conversion (OTEC) utilizes the natural
temperature difference in tropical regions to generate electricity. The idea of using the ocean to
generate electricity was proposed by a French physicist by the name of Jacques Arsene d Arsonval in
1881. Georges Cluade who was one of d Arsonval students, built the first OTEC power plant in Cuba.
Cluade also built a second power plant in 1935 on a 10,000 ton cargo ship which was moored off the
coast of Brazil. Unfortunate events with weather and waves caused both facilities to be destroyed
before either could be net generators. The United States became interested in OTEC technology in
1974 and built the Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii Authority ... Show more content on

The steam then boils the low point boiling fluid, which drives the turbine to produce electricity. The
hybrid combined the vacuum portion of the open cycle system and uses the low point boiling fluid like
the closed cycle system. Unfortunately, there is no mass energy production for the Ocean Thermal
Energy Conversion but there has been a successful attempt in 1979, when Lockheed Martin
successfully built and operated over a three month period a net power mini OTEC system which
generated 50 kilowatts of net power off the Big Island of Hawaii. But the United States is not the only
country who is invested into OTEC systems, Japan has currently a closed system OTEC plant that has
generated 31.5 kilowatts of power during tests. The positives of the OTEC system is monumental.
Even if one tenth of one percent of the solar energy trapped by the oceans could be converted into
electricity, It would generate twenty times the amount of electricity the United States use everyday. It
could easily supply all the energy we wanted, said Terry Penney, a lab program manager at the
National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colo. The process is very low efficiency, just 2 or
3 or 4 percent, but all that energy s free. (qtd. in charles. The Energy Debates: Ocean Thermal Energy
Conversion. LiveScience. TechMedia Network, 12 Dec. 2008. Web. 03 Feb. 2014.) Unlike Solar and
Wind alternative energy, OTEC can work during the day and night, which means that OTEC can

The Duchess Of Malfi Masculinity
How does time periods like Renaissance, Restoration, and the Eighteenth Century interact with
masculinity? Renaissance, Restoration, and the Eighteenth Century shows us that masculinity can be
portrayed as having power or they can be seen as getting overpowered by femininity. In these different
time periods it is noticeable that men are not the only individuals that is considered to be smart and
they are not the only ones who can maintain power. Also, within these time periods women do not
always submit themselves to the men. By looking at the Renaissance, Restoration, and Eighteenth
Century time periods masculinity roles shifts from men claiming their supremacy by being
overbearing, dominant, and selfish to getting tricked and manipulated by women so that power can be
seen as being equal within genders or completely taken by women. In the Duchess of Malfi
masculinity is constructed as maintaining power by being overbearing and selfish. The brothers
Ferdinand and Cardinal was overbearing and selfish when it came down to their sister love life.
Ferdinand and Cardinal tried to dictate their sister by telling her that she cannot become another man s
wife. The brothers does not want their sister to remarry again because they think she would be seen as
lustful. He and his brother are like plum trees that grow crooked over standing pools; they are rich and

over time women having assorted types of body art has become more acceptable in society. Today
young women at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, use piercings and tattoos as a form of

Hog Waste In North Carolina
Hog farms are plentiful in North Carolina, but the 40 million gallons of untreated hog waste created
everyday creates more than just a foul smell. Hog waste creates huge environmental, health, and
economic issues, such as excessive nitrates in groundwater, the disruption of the thyroid, and the
decrease of land value. Due to the number of hogs and how inefficiently the waste is being disposed
of, this is becoming an increasing problem in North Carolina. The threat to the environment, our
health, and the economy could be significantly reduced by using cleaner and more efficient ways to
dispose of the waste, such as anaerobic digesters. The problem with the hog farms is the inefficient

The waste contains large amounts of nitrogen and phosphorous, the primary ingredients in fertilizer
for plants. This causes the plants to grow faster, so when the waste gets into waterways it can cause
algae blooms. The algae can block out the sunlight from other organisms in the water. Algae grows
very quickly and dies very quickly. The decomposing algae uses the dissolved oxygen in the water
which is essential to the lives of the organisms in the water. It causes a dead zone, an area where it is
difficult for organisms to live there. The excessive nitrates in the waste can cause more than
environmental problems, it can also be detrimental to our health. The nitrates can get into the
groundwater and the surface water. Excessive nitrate exposer can cause blue baby syndrome, the
disruption of the thyroid, and bladder cancer. Communities near the hog farms can also suffer from
respiratory problems, anxiety, depression, and sleep disturbances. Humans can acquire more than 40
different types of diseases from the hog waste. Experts believe that the swine flu outbreak of 2009
2010 was caused by storing it in giant lagoons. Along with environmental and health issues, hog waste
creates economic problems. Land value goes down in the communities near the farms due to the
health risks and the foul smell. Property tax is based on land value, so when the land value is low, the

African American Caricatures
The technology boom of the industrial era created a surge of new media people could consume. Music
was being created along with moving pictures and new types of theaters. Caricatures of minorities
were created not to accurately represent the people and their lives, but to paint an image in the public s
eye of a lesser human. The masses at the time and even now would argue that these people these
caricatures were based of real people and experiences but first hand accounts from the community beg
to differ. People from oppressed communities were being portrayed as animals, fools, and sexual
heathen to degrade their worth and make the fight for equality harder Popular caricatures of the
African American community helped keep what white supremacist would call racial balance. During
the time of the civil war, tensions were high when people started to get the idea that slaves did not like
being slaves. To combat this the uncle and the Mammy caricatures were created. They were depicted
as older slaves that enjoyed working under their master (Riggs). This new concept helped white
people conform to the idea of slavery because of the need it implied on the white community to
control slaves. After northern states began to make slavery illegal, they no longer needed docile
characters to play a part in the segregation of the races. Instead new characters were created to fit their
agenda To combat the growing presence of black men in the northern middle class the Zip coon was

made a very important point about what we define as freedom . But one hundred years later, the Negro
still is not free: one hundred years later, the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of

Meaning Of Cults
A cult has many different meanings. Our textbook defines a cult as a group that is typically
characterized by three things; the first being rituals and beliefs, showing devotion to a god or person,
the second being a charismatic leader, and the third is isolation (Myers, 2015). In general, when
people think about cults the response is usually why are people persuaded to leave everything behind
and join a cult? There are usually two views on cults. The first is that a cult is not different from other
socially acceptable groups, however the second view is that cults use techniques different from other
groups that can be considered harmful (Pfeifer, 1992). My interest in this topic stems from the time I

houses are highlighted because of their contrast to each other. The atmosphere of the two houses share
similar characteristics as the characters that live inside and Bronte expresses throughout the novel that
one will change in a difference of setting, but one will never change completely. Thrushcross Grange
is a lovely manor that is located among the grassy fields of the Yorkshire Moor. The atmosphere of the
household is as refined as the occupants are. The moor has a calming atmosphere as well as beauty;
this defines the fundamental structure of the Linton s appearance. The Linton is a well known family

However, both Heathcliff and Catherine were able to escape their crude attitude and adopt a more
polished attitude by escaping from the depressed environment. Although Thrushcross Grange and
Wuthering Heights are very different, the two households share similarities as well. Thrushcross
Grange and Wuthering Heights are isolated from other people. The two houses are miles apart, and the
only common visitor is the doctor. As a result from the isolation, the two households relied on each
other for company. As each visit brought a part of the visitor s household s atmosphere, the
transformation of Catherine and Heathcliff deepened. The presence of Edgar Linton caused Catherine
to act more refines and mature, and Heathcliff became more controlled with his anger. However,
because of their settings each character fell into their pervious attitude. Heathcliff began to argue with
Catherine because she spends more time with Edgar instead of him, and Catherine aborted her
pretense of being a refined individual when Nelly refused to obey her orders. This recognize the fact
that although that a person can change, they cannot change completely. The setting is a very important
part of the novel because it has a tremendous amount of influence. The characters, the plot and the
audience s reaction are influenced the most. The
influence of setting was reflected in wuthering heights, by Emily Bronte. Bronte

Micro Hydro System For The De Pulper Essay
Micro Hydro System for the De Pulper Micro Hydro power systems can be applied to a wide range of
energy needs throughout the world wherever an ideal site is available. On a small organic farm in
Nicaragua, Finca Esperanza Verde (FEV), a direct drive micro hydro system is being used to power a
coffee de pulper (Raichle, Sinclair Ferrell, 2012). This paper will build upon existing data on the
system and will explore options for directing the water after it has gone through the system to
effectively suit the needs of the farm. The applications of the system could be prevalent throughout the
coffee growing regions of Latin America where there are water resources and small scale coffee farms.
Coffee is 8.1% or $438 Million of Nicaragua s exports, which makes it the second most exported
commodity in the county (Nicaragua, n.d.). The energy force that is driving the harvesting and
processing is predominantly manual labor (Raichle et al., 2012).

will adopt later in life. One such example of this is a fictional character named Sucker. This young boy
really admired his cousin Pete, whom he lived with. Sucker was just an innocent child who would
believe anything Pete said. The more Sucker admired Pete, the more Pete resented Sucker. This went
on until Pete met a girl. Pete was so happy that he didn t mind Sucker s admiration toward him.
Sucker became a bright enthusiastic child who loved being around Pete. He was so happy that he didn
t want anything to change. After Pete got dumped, he turned ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He got the name quot;Sucker quot; from being so gullible. One time he jumped off his garage roof
with an open umbrella because Pete told him he would float down to the ground. It turned out all that
happened was Sucker got a busted knee. Sucker was like any child his age. He talked to himself when
he was alone, he would fight off gangsters and also pretend he was a cowboy. He was a healthy kid
but he kept to himself mostly. nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; When Pete met Maybelle Watts this had
an immediate effect on Sucker because Pete was actually treating him nicely. Sucker was flamboyant,
talkative and always had a smile on his face when Pete was around. One time when the two of them
went to bed they had a long talk. Pete even took Sucker to a movie with him. quot; You re a swell kid,
Sucker, quot; said Pete. Being so close to Pete made Sucker feel wonderful. nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;
nbsp; When Pete found out that Maybelle was using him, he took out all of his frustrations on the most
defenseless person he knew Sucker. When Sucker asked what was wrong Pete exploded all of his
emotions on him. Sucker defended himself the only way he had left. He became very angry and cold
toward Pete. Sucker became very independent and started hanging around with a bunch of friends.
Pete was intimidated by the hatred in Sucker s eyes whenever he looked at him. Sucker didn t seem
like a quot;sucker quot; anymore. nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Through all of these ways

Overcrowding Prisons And The Prisons Essay
Alma Gonzalez
Professor Shaw
SOC 474OL
11 August 2016
Overcrowding Prisons Prisons were essentially built to accommodate a number of prisoners, but over
the years, it has reached over capacity. Today in the United States, there are approximately 193,468
federal inmates that consist of the Bureau of Prisons Custody, private managed facilities and other
facilities. The inmates ages range from 18 65 with the median age being in their late 30 s. This number
is counting both male and female population with a male being 93.3% of inmates and females being
6.7%. The number of inmates has steadily increased since 1980 with only having approximately less
than 50,000 but today the number has gone more up. Drug offenses are the highest number of inmate s
imprisonment, the next higher offense would be weapons, explosives and arson; immigration and
miscellaneous fall next in lines. The number of the other offenses, such as robbery, extortion, fraud,
bribery, burglary, larceny, property offenses and other offenses are lower. Overcrowding prisons have
become problematic as the prisons population continues to increase, leading to proper care and
attention to prisoners.
The Discriminator The Criminal Justice System Policy has changed over the past years, whether that
has been for good or for worse; depending on what point of view one s sees it. This can be seen in the
tough on crime approach by legislators and the criminal justice system. Policies were made to deter
crime and

Herodotus Histories As A Principle Source About Ancient...
Herodotus Histories serves as a principle source about ancient Greece. However, within in it there is
an added complexity of Herodotus own attitudes towards archaic tyrants versus what the actual
attitudes of Archaic Greeks were. As for traditions, Archaic tyrants cannot be accurately confined to
singular traits or patterns of operations. Lineages of tyrants, the Kypselids and Pisistratids, do not have
an overarching flavor, the rulers vary. Additionally, singular rulers, such as Polycrates, have variations
in their description.
A key passage from Histories that best summarizes Herodotus attitudes towards tyranny is the
beginning of Sosicles speech to the Spartans, who are considering reimplementing tyranny in Athens.
This is like the turning of the universe upside down. Earth and sky will soon be changing places men
will be living in the sea and fish on land, now that you Spartans are proposing to abolish popular
government and restore despotism in the cities... . Sosicles believes tyranny is the most backward form
of government to consider, when compared to popular government . He presents tyranny as being so
unnatural, that implementing a tyrant would overturn the rest of natural order. Two hyperbolic
statements earth and sky will soon be changing places and men will be living in the sea and fish on
land , are examples of literal switching of places. They suggests that restoring despotism would be a
reversal to something unnatural and that things are as they

  • 2. Law Enforcement Assignment The US has three main information resources, which collect statistics regarding the employment status of law enforcement officers together with other relevant evidence that is unique to every collection. For instance, the U.S Census Bureau, the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS), and FBI information gathering programs have varied purposes, respondent universes, data definitions, and information collection approaches (Banks, Hendrix, Hickman, Kycklhahn, 2016). According to the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (OCPS) (2009), in America, every jurisdiction that is served by nearly 18,000 local and state law implementation agencies regulate the number of non sworn and sworn police officers that it ... Accordingly, Wilson and Weiss (2014) conducted a literature review for secondary information and interviews for primary data geared towards establishing and assessing the extant experiences and trends in staffing allocation. The interviews were undertaken among practitioners drawn from 20 varied agencies in America and a national focus group, which included 21 staffing professionals (Wilson Weiss, 2014). The article also examined the weaknesses and strengths pertinent to alternative techniques to determine staffing needs and to manage demand for workload while, at the same time, minimizing usage of sworn officers. They concluded that effective and efficient approaches consider performance and workload when staffing. 2.2 Police Staffing and the Approaches Used 2.2.1 Police staffing. According to Reaves (2012), in September the year 2008, the federal organizations recruited close to120, 000 law enforcement officers on full time basis; these officers were authorized to carry forearms and make arrests in the US. Ideally, this was an equivalent of having 40 police officers against 100,000 citizens. As such, the number of officers at the federal level in America augmented by nearly 15% representing 15,000 from 2004 through 2008 (Reaves, 2012). In addition, Reaves (2012) ascertains that the federal organizations recruited about 1,600 officers in 2008, particularly in Puerto Rico. Notably, the US has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Like-A-Girl Campaign I am very familiar with P G s Always Like a Girl campaign. I remember watching that commercial and acknowledging the greatness behind it. As a tomboy growing up, I was always at the receiving end of jokes because I was not girly enough; this campaign s initial interpretation of stereotypical responses regarding girls was eye opening. Seriously, when did being a girl become an insult? My daughter was in high school when this campaign was published. Even my teenager, the star basketball player, acknowledged the importance of this campaign because she worked with young girls in the summer and always told them they could be anything they wanted to be because being a girl did not make you weak. P G was able to change insulted to empowered, simply by bringing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not only was P G recognized and awarded for their contribution of marketing effectively and using their platform for good, but the multiple millions of views demonstrate the magnitude and importance of the message and its acceptance. The brand found its purpose, recognized the need to communicate it to the world, and understood the importance of unusual media placements (Solomon, 2017). The company took a negative view and transformed the mentality; further influencing other brands to do the same. Of course, the feminine care product brand is not without challenges. In an industry where there is clear competition, creating a sustainable marketing plan is essential. The Always brand brought about change in the mindset of many people, as well as profits for the company, all because of awareness and redefining what it meant to be a girl. The Mongol s established the largest contiguous empire in the Neolithic era. The Mongol Empire was notable for their military power, their diplomatic protection, and safe travel. These notable features aided the growth and expansion of the empire. The Mongols conquest left a trail of blood and destruction. For a century, the Mongol Empire cultivated for the first time East West contact. I will further discuss the primary sources and secondary sources of the Mongol Empire. The Mongol Empire encouraged a wider distribution of good and idea, so officials made sure the travel routes were as safe as possible. In addition, commodities such as silk could be purchased at lower prices because the cost of travel and security decreased. The primary reason for these passports was to ensure safety along the trade routes of the Mongol empire. • 16. Essay about First-Person Narration Techniques in Cathedral A first person narration provides an interesting perspective on the main action of a story. A narrator can express his/her own thoughts and feelings, which in turn develops a more personal and relatable story to the reader. Raymond Carver often uses this literary point of view tactic in his short stories to reveal the traits of the narrator. In Cathedral, Carver uses conversational tone and diction to reveal the narrator s character; which is prejudicial at first, but becomes empathic by the end. This quote illustrates the narrator s inclination to state his subjective disbelief of a situation with which he does not agree. The sour statement, just amazing, while unnecessary to the storyline, depicts exactly this. Carver specifically makes the writing seem hostile and cynical, by his use of conversational tone. As a result, we connect these characteristics of the writing with that of the narrator. Through the author s use of diction, more aspects of the narrator s personality are revealed. Simply from word choice, we learn that the narrator is prejudicial towards others, and jealous of other men s relationships with his wife. • 26. The Military Rule Of Burma The land on which modern day Myanmar stands could be traced back to Pagan Dynasty. Britain gradually took control of Myanmar in 1824. Burma was able to gain its independence from the Great Britain in 1948. Burma became a parliamentary democracy, granting autonomous states to minorities. In 1962 Union Revolutionary Council overthrew the civilian government and suspended the constitution. As a result, the country was under military rule from 1962 to 1988. The military government transitioned to a socialist economy, nationalized all major industries and reduced the foreign influence. Years of military rule and suppression and a failed attempt to move to a multi party election system led to the imposition of economic sanctions to Myanmar. A new constitution was voted in by the public in 2008, that established a parliamentary system where the military has the 50% of the seats. The military government was officially dissolved in 2011, and a former member, Thein Sein was inaugurated as president and PM, convening a largely civilian parliament and begun political, economic and parliamentary reforms. Thein Sein administration brought a period of reform and enabled the return of international engagement. Through series of reforms such as pardoning to most political prisoners, relaxation of censorship and efforts toward peace with rebel groups. • 28. Questions On Long Tail Keywords Long Essay Long tail keywords Long tail keywords are those three and four keyword phrases which are very, very specific to whatever you are selling. You see, whenever a customer uses a highly specific search phrase, they tend to be looking for exactly what they are actually going to buy. In virtually every case, such very specific searches are far more likely to convert to sales than general generic searches that tend to be geared more toward the type of research that consumers typically do prior to making a buying decision. To help illustrate this phenomenon, let s take a look at the typical step by step buying path that a customer travels on the way to a making a purchase. 1.Consumer becomes aware of a product. 2.Consumer seeks information about that product in preparation for possible purchase. 3.Consumer evaluates alternatives to product (features, pricing, etc...). 4.Consumer makes their purchase decision. 5.Consumer pulls out their credit card and completes the transaction. 6.Consumer then evaluates the product after buying it and decides if they want to keep or return it. Using the above six step path to a purchase as our model, you can probably already see that you want to target the consumer who is somewhere around step four... • 31. Essay on Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion Ocean thermal energy conversion (OTEC) utilizes the natural temperature difference in tropical regions to generate electricity. The idea of using the ocean to generate electricity was proposed by a French physicist by the name of Jacques Arsene d Arsonval in 1881. Georges Cluade who was one of d Arsonval students, built the first OTEC power plant in Cuba. Cluade also built a second power plant in 1935 on a 10,000 ton cargo ship which was moored off the coast of Brazil. Unfortunate events with weather and waves caused both facilities to be destroyed before either could be net generators. The steam then boils the low point boiling fluid, which drives the turbine to produce electricity. The hybrid combined the vacuum portion of the open cycle system and uses the low point boiling fluid like the closed cycle system. Unfortunately, there is no mass energy production for the Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion but there has been a successful attempt in 1979, when Lockheed Martin successfully built and operated over a three month period a net power mini OTEC system which generated 50 kilowatts of net power off the Big Island of Hawaii. But the United States is not the only country who is invested into OTEC systems, Japan has currently a closed system OTEC plant that has generated 31.5 kilowatts of power during tests. The positives of the OTEC system is monumental. Even if one tenth of one percent of the solar energy trapped by the oceans could be converted into electricity, It would generate twenty times the amount of electricity the United States use everyday. It could easily supply all the energy we wanted, said Terry Penney, a lab program manager at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colo. The process is very low efficiency, just 2 or 3 or 4 percent, but all that energy s free. (qtd. in charles. The Energy Debates: Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion. LiveScience. Renaissance, Restoration, and the Eighteenth Century shows us that masculinity can be portrayed as having power or they can be seen as getting overpowered by femininity. In these different time periods it is noticeable that men are not the only individuals that is considered to be smart and they are not the only ones who can maintain power. Also, within these time periods women do not always submit themselves to the men. By looking at the Renaissance, Restoration, and Eighteenth Century time periods masculinity roles shifts from men claiming their supremacy by being overbearing, dominant, and selfish to getting tricked and manipulated by women so that power can be seen as being equal within genders or completely taken by women. In the Duchess of Malfi masculinity is constructed as maintaining power by being overbearing and selfish. This causes the plants to grow faster, so when the waste gets into waterways it can cause algae blooms. The algae can block out the sunlight from other organisms in the water. Algae grows very quickly and dies very quickly. The decomposing algae uses the dissolved oxygen in the water which is essential to the lives of the organisms in the water. During the time of the civil war, tensions were high when people started to get the idea that slaves did not like being slaves. To combat this the uncle and the Mammy caricatures were created. In general, when people think about cults the response is usually why are people persuaded to leave everything behind and join a cult? There are usually two views on cults. This paper will build upon existing data on the system and will explore options for directing the water after it has gone through the system to effectively suit the needs of the farm. The applications of the system could be prevalent throughout the coffee growing regions of Latin America where there are water resources and small scale coffee farms. • 46. Herodotus Histories As A Principle Source About Ancient... Herodotus Histories serves as a principle source about ancient Greece. However, within in it there is an added complexity of Herodotus own attitudes towards archaic tyrants versus what the actual attitudes of Archaic Greeks were. As for traditions, Archaic tyrants cannot be accurately confined to singular traits or patterns of operations. Lineages of tyrants, the Kypselids and Pisistratids, do not have an overarching flavor, the rulers vary. Additionally, singular rulers, such as Polycrates, have variations in their description. A key passage from Histories that best summarizes Herodotus attitudes towards tyranny is the beginning of Sosicles speech to the Spartans, who are considering reimplementing tyranny in Athens. This is like the turning of the universe upside down.
