Her home town represents the Ordinary World in Joseph Campbell s Hero Journey. In the film, the
farm where Dorothy lives stays in a dull beige color during the film. This represents the simplicity of
the world before her call to adventure. The tornado that strikes Kansas represents Dorothy s call to
adventure. After the tornado stills, Dorothy fins herself in a new world. When the farm girl realizes
how much her Aunt Em worried for her when she ran off with Toto, Dorothy return back home.
However, the tornado strikes before she sees her aunt. In her new surroundings, Gilda tells her that in

Watchmen Themes
Even though Watchmen takes place in an alternate Cold War setting, the themes remain relevant for
today s society. We do not have any superheroes to help combat wars and so, the world is in the hands
of flawed humans, just as it was in the novel; world leaders are subject to societal pressures and thus
commit erroneous judgements in times of stress. Oftentimes, there are situations where the clashing
ideologies of individuals create rising tensions, such as with the Palestine conflict between the Israelis
and Palestinians, which can be paralleled to the situation of the heroes in the novel. Furthermore, it is
difficult to judge which beliefs assert the most proper morals because each individual is subject to
their own opinions. Watchmen also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This theme, although normally presented by non human characters in science fiction such as Doctor
Manhattan, remains relevant as humans progress because we are increasingly researching non human
fields like aliens and cyborgs, blurring the line between the human and the non human. As technology
advances and fiction becomes reality, it is completely possible for the government to gain a hold of a
powerful weapon like Manhattan, giving them strategic advantage in times of war. Nevertheless, we
are still human and face our own ideological and moral battles. Moore s intentions with Watchmen
were to make the readers take a step back from reality and evaluate whether our contentious efforts
will be worthwhile. He purposefully includes flawed characters because he knows that humanity is not
perfect either, but we still face the similar issues to that of the Watchmen. It is an approach to reality as
a web of co incidence and chance in which the reader can identify with the characters and their actions
(Barber). Although comic books today feature superheroes battling present day conflicts, they are not
realistic because even the heroes that are completely human do not possess the fundamentals of man.
Heroes, like Batman, have an unbreakable will despite the trauma they go through (Wu). In this way,
Watchmen s appeal comes from the exposure of the normality of human imperfections; however, we

Essay On Embryonic Stem Cell Research
Depending on who is asked, embryonic stem cell research, one of the most controversial topics of all
time, can be viewed as either a positive or negative step to a better tomorrow. A great quantity of
people believe that using the embryos of unborn babies can prevent the next
Albert Einstein from being born, so they are one hundred percent against embryonic stem cell
research. However, by researching embryonic stem cells, scientists can study normal human
development, create new drugs and medicines, and replace damaged or destroyed cells.
Therefore, it should be strongly encouraged to continue embryonic stem cell research because it will
pave the path for a better tomorrow.

This type of transplant along with many other types of transplants were made possible by scientists

Different people have different opinions, and this is exactly what is seen in the very controversial

to detect diseases earlier, develop new drugs and medicines, and discover new ways to perform vital

The Music Of The Children s Chorus Of Crane ( Ccc )
I love music and I have dedicated a lot of my time to what I love. I have been in the Children s Chorus
of Crane (CCC), played piano, and been in the Clarkson Golden Knotes a cappella group. From all of
these musical experiences, I learned to become a better musician. I learned that the benefit of
producing music outweighs the time and dedication I must put into it. I have experienced the
satisfaction of performing music for other s enjoyment. These are talents I will be able to take with me
forever.
When I was younger, I was in the CCC from 3rd grade to 10th grade. I learned dedication. I was only
nine years old when I started singing in the choir once a week for two hours straight. I learned what
was expected at a very formal concert. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

RELIGION
Although I am not very religious, I attended the Unitarian Universalist Church of Canton starting in
2nd grade. This year I was much less active, but I still kept in touch with the church youth group. I
take to heart the U.U. church principles. The seven principles overlap the values I have been taught at
home, and that LRCS practices. I also admire how religion can bring people of all ages into one caring
community. I value the connections I have made and the members of the church have been very
supportive of me.
SUPPORT SYSTEM
My strong support system is the main reason I feel prepared to graduate high school and begin
college. family and friends
FAMILY
My family has been nothing but supportive, loving, and caring. They taught me the value of love from
a young age. My parents taught me right from wrong, and my sister taught me to hold my temper.
These three people are my mentors, my family, and my best friends.

I have been extremely lucky, I have become very close to my small circle of friends. I am graduating
with Nora Bradford and Gwen Smith, two of my longest lasting friendships. I also have stayed best

The Hindu Faith is an indigenous theology and philosophy...
The Hindu Faith is an indigenous theology and philosophy of India spanning thousands of years.
Reincarnation is the center of the Faith, the teaching that all things become unified through living
many lives. After each cycle of life, karma decides which caste or level of life a person will next
experience. Lying, cheating scumbags, who were greedy and did not assist the poor could be
reincarnated upon death into a life of poverty and illness. With a little hope, such a soul would learn a
valuable lesson and the next time around would be a bit more comfortable. Some Hindus also believe
that a human can be reincarnated as an animal. Whether that is karma from a good or bad previous
life, one can only guess.

Atharvaveda Verses that speculate on the earth human connection and other philosophical ideas.
Hymns throughout the Rigveda are referred to as Samhitas. Brahmanas are textual verses that explain
ritual prayers and relay instructional information. Aranyakas and Upanishads propose speculative
theologies and philosophical concepts. Long practiced traditions and cultural behaviors determine the
specific school of philosophy each Hindu will follow. Six major schools of philosophy exist within
Hinduism. Each school, or Darśana, is separate from the others, but they are all centered on verses in
the Vedas. Sage Kapila orally addressed the natural and spiritual worlds in the Samkhya School
founded in the 6th century BC. It is the most ancient Hindu school of Hindu thought. Nyaya is the
school of logical thought introduced by Aksapada Gautama in approximately the 5th century BC. The
philosophy stresses the importance of knowledge and scientific theory. Vaisheshika, the atomic school,
instituted by Sage Kannada in the 3rd century BC, attempts to answer questions surrounding the
creation of the universe and the connection between life sustaining substances and the soul. The
philosophy states that Brahman instills consciousness in all atoms, the smallest form of life. Sage
Patanjalt, founder of the Yoga school in the 2nd century BC, proposed that mastering Yoga could
transform the physical and spiritual self. The Yoga school and Samkhya are closely related
philosophies.

Open Systems
Why Open Systems Theory?: The open systems approach has been chosen to study the above issues
because it has been commended for its potential usefulness in synthesizing and analyzing complexity
(Simon, 1969) in live organizations. Comprehension of a system cannot be achieved without a
constant study of the forces that impinge upon it (Katz and Kahn, 1966). Leavitt, Pinfield and Webb
(1974) also recommended an open systems approach for studying contemporary organizations which
now exist in a fast changing and turbulent environment. Ramstrom (1974) propounds increased
emphasis on systems thinking to comprehend the increased interdependencies between the system and
its environment, and between the various parts of the system. Classical ... Show more content on

its causal texture the area of interdependencies that belong within the environment itself. In terms of
Emery Trist, L22 relations which they labelled as turbulent field, i.e., the interdependencies within the
environment itself comprise the causal texture of the field. Turbulence is characterized by complexity
as well as rapidity of change in causal interconnections in the environment. Table 1 [The Environment
Organization Interaction Matrix] Developing on the work of Emery and Trist, Terreberry (1968)
concluded that an increasing number of organizational systems find themselves in environments of the
fourth type [characterized by L22 processes]. She described turbulent situation as one in which the
accelerating rate and complexity of interactive effects exceeds the capacities of prediction of the
organizational systems which make up the environment and hence, these systems tend to lose control
of the compounding consequences of their actions. Terreberry s turbulent environment parallels
dynamic complex environment of Duncan (1972),

Overcrowding In Corrections
First, funding in corrections should be a main priority, but it is not and this causes a lot of issues
within institutions. Prison overcrowding has been a major issue in our country since President Nixon
declared the War on drugs in 1970, but funding plays a key role with overcrowding just like the War
on drugs. Prisons are being filled to capacity and this is forcing prisons to transfer inmates to other
prisons in different states. According to insidetime.org, between the years of 2009 and 2010, 1500
inmates were transferred every week. Transferring inmates from prison to prison interrupts
rehabilitation programs and training and it can affect families. For example, Eli Coates, who is
incarcerated in Arizona for armed robbery was serving one

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Feedback In Education
My job as an educator is to meet the needs of the students in my class. The chapters I read reminded
me of the importance of differentiating for the wide variety of needs in my classroom. It is essential
that I differentiate the content, process, and product on a regular basis. Sometimes I overthink
differentiated instruction, making it too complicated in my head. Carol Ann Tomlinson (2001)
specifically reminded me that differentiation can be successfully accomplished by all teachers through
both low preparation methods and high preparation methods. When a classroom s instruction is
differentiated, teachers sometimes have questions about how grading may be different than a
traditional classroom. Because of reading the above mentioned literature, I now have a greater
awareness of formative assessments, rubrics, and building mutual understandings of grading practices
among teachers. Formative assessment is meant to be used regularly to provide students with feedback
about how they can continue to improve and grow as a learner and to inform a teacher s next step
instructionally. The most valuable idea I took away from the literature was the importance of timely
and actionable feedback. First, students need to receive feedback about their learning throughout the
learning process, soon after the work or assignment has been turned in, so that ... Show more content

Competitiveness And Its Effect On Our Lives
Competitiveness is the spark that ignites the flames in our minds. It is what governs our very
existence, our survival in this world. The world s motivation to do the best we can and to accomplish
what no other has is stimulated by competitiveness. Our relationship with our family, friends,
neighbors, community, and the planet is what inspires us to push ourselves to our culminating limits.
Many would witness contention amongst children as a detrimental aspect of behavior, while in reality
competition is what allows us to excel beyond our accomplishments. Students can set goals for
themselves and become proud of the work they achieved when they look at themselves in the mirror
and envision the person they have become. When we apprehend the reality of the world, we come to
realize that there is little in life for which we do not compete for. Our country, our world, needs to
redefine the interpretation of competition and what it means to be successful and unsuccessful in life,
particularly in education.
Competitiveness is the process of motivating students by fueling their flame to success. It is the
opposition between two forces that contest to achieve the same goal, success. Competitiveness defines
us as human beings. The ideology of competition derives from our obligation to surpass others in life.
Humans are universally characterized with greed, but in this world, we cannot always have what we
want. We have a tendency to want certain things that we cannot have, and as a

How Did The Radical Republican s Rise For The Failure Of...
The investigation will explore the question: How did the Radical Republican s rise to power contribute
to the failure of the post civil war reconstruction? The time between 1863, when Lincoln passed the
ten percent act, until the year 1877, when reconstruction was officially ended, will be evaluated with
information provided by the sources. The investigation will specifically look to how the Lincoln
assassination allowed for the rise in the Radical Republican Party from 1866 to 1868 and the party s
effect on reconstruction acts leading to the failure of the post civil war reconstruction era.

the most complete works regarding ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The novel primarily utilizes a traditional view point. The author views reconstruction in a negative
light and as a time when power hungry Radicals used their political power to punish the south, in
contrast to the president s attempts to revive, instead of change, the South.
Foner s book provided significant information for this investigation. It provides substantial evidence
of how the Radical Republicans gained power and their actions thereafter. The novel, with its
traditional view of reconstruction, only allowed for a one sided look of the years 1863 1877, focusing
mainly on the Republican views and the Radical Reconstruction. This somewhat limits the extent the
novel could be used in evaluating the research question in this investigation.
John Hope Franklin s Reconstruction After the Civil War: Second Edition also assisted in the
evaluation of the research question. Franklin earned his master s in 1936 and his doctorate in history
in 1941 from Harvard University. In 1995, Franklin was awarded the highest civilian honor by earning
the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Franklin s educational background qualifies him as a reliable
source to reference for this investigation of American history.
John Hope Franklin s work is celebrated as an accurate account of prior slaves roles during this era of
American history. In this edition Franklin updates his original version with new information and

The Surveillance System Of Egypt
Since 2013, including president El Sissy s first year in power, there have been no real political or
security reforms. The current regime continued to work without a legislative body for more than two
years, with the president issuing hundreds of legislative bills without any real community or political
dialogue (Abd Rabou 2015) . The surveillance system in Egypt simply does not work while the
presidency and other security services have a strict hold on power and while human rights violations
are made by police officers in police stations, prison cells, and even on the streets. All of which is a
continued replay of Mubarak s security policies. The constitution has been violated many times by the
regime and the president declared it to be too ambitious .
Moreover, with the continuing distrust of the judicial system and its bias against most opponents of
the regime including youth, Islamists and non Islamists; and also with the traumatisation and
nationalisation of most of media platforms, terrorism has continued to hit Egypt. ISIS and other
terrorist groups are able to recruit more members who are angered and frustrated by the regime.
Shutting out many political forces from politics in particular and the public space in general has led to
an increase in political violence.
The current regime s fiscal and economic policies, therefore, are not productive and are lacking
transparency, accountability, and feasibility not to mention distributive mechanisms. As El Sheneity

Performance-enhancing Drugs and Athletes
With the change of rules in sports throughout the many centuaries, the most advance form of
improving the ability of athletes is known as doping. Doping are performance enhancing drugs which
are used in sports. The uses of these drugs are considered to be unethical as it gives competitors an
unfair advantage. Sports is seen as an activity based on full ethics and complete discipline.
With the invention of performance enhancing drugs in sports, it gives athletes a greater opportunity of
cheating. There are many different types of drugs however the most common ones that are used
include Steroids, Amphetamines, Stimulants, Peptide Hormones, Human Growth Hormone and
Insulin. Steroids and performance enhancing drugs increase the amount of testosterone in the body.
This allows the body to develop a greater muscle growth and increase body mass. These drugs are
available in the form of pills or it can be injected as Anabolic steroids serve as a supplement when
entered in the body.
Athletes use steroids in order to be the best and remain as the best. Sports is a competitive game in
which athletes feel obliged to win and strive to become better than others. Although the improvement
of sports has increased greatly, there are rules and regulations that must be followed. Sports include
the protection of the health and safety of the athletes. It also includes the respect for medical and sport
ethics. With unfair advantages due to medical conditions, it does not ensure an equal chance for

There are 9.2 million tame horses and an additional 47,329 wild horses in the United States, while
only 2 million people own horses (Moss; Horses in the United States ). With that being said, it s safe
to say that the United States has a surplus of horses. One of the most controversial solutions for the
unwanted horses is slaughter. Horse slaughter has been around for decades, but due to changes in
societal views, the topic has ignited controversy. In today s society, horses are being viewed as
companion animals rather than livestock. The problem is that legally, horses are considered livestock
and the laws for the treatment of companion animals versus livestock are very different (Winegar, The

Free Radical Chain Reaction Lab
Free Radical Chain Reactions: Bromination of Arenes Post Lab Report Reference: Experimental
Organic Chemistry: A Miniscale and Microscale Approach 6th ed., by Gilbert and Martin, Chapter 9
Discussion: The purpose of the experiment as to explore how different hydrogen functional groups in
hydrocarbons react with bromine through free radical chain substitution. The product is dependent on
the type of hydrogen that is being subjected to the bromination, whether that be aliphatic, allylic,
benzylic, vinylic, acetylenic, or aromatic. By comparing the relative reactivity rates between the
different hydrogens to bromine, a hypothesized ranking of reactivity was made of the provided
hydrocarbons: toluene, ethyl benzene, tert butylbenzene, cyclohexane, and methylcyclohexane. This
hypothesis was then tested during the actual lab period by preparing two sets of reactions for each
hydrocarbon: one in light and one in dark. Observations were noted throughout a thirty minute period
in order to determine the experimental order of reactivity. Free radical chain reactions are one of the
few mechanisms that allow for functional ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

reactive hydrogen for the three main hydrogen functional group classifications. Toluene contains

aliphatic hydrogens but also an arene ring, allowing for aromatic hydrogens to also be present. This is
why it was ranked above methylcyclohexane in the original proposed ranking. Methylcyclohexane
contains tertiary, secondary and primary aliphatic hydrogens. Cyclohexane contains just secondary
aliphatic hydrogens, justifying its place as the slowest of the hypothesized ranking

Kennedy Second World War Analysis
The First World War was led to the Second World War. The second world war direct led to cold War.
The cold war was a state of political hostility between countries characterized by threats propaganda,

political and military tension that occurred about in the year following World War II. The war was
between Eastern Black the Soviet Union and the Western Black the Unit State. These two potential
countries, the united states and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics ( USSR) had extremely
different political, economic, social and ideological differences, and as a result the use of diplomacy

Beowulf Vs Grendel
This story is about a guy named Beowulf who lived in a far away country who came to Hrothgar s
kingdom to save his kingdom from a monster. The monsters name is Grendel and Grendel has come to
Higlac, which is the name of Hrothgar s mead, and murdered multiple people. Between the movie and
the text, there are multiple differences. One major difference between the movie and the text is the
characters. In the movie the characters are shown completely different than they are in text. For
example, in the text Grendel could not speak and was a wolf like monster, but in the movie he was
able to speak and did not look anything wolf like instead he looked more human like. Another
example is Grendel s mother, in the text Grendel s mother looked very similar to him including her
she wolf looks, but instead in the movie she looked like Jennifer Lopez. The text states, but her supper

dragon and did not die until afterwards. According to the text, Then he saw, hanging on the wall, a

massive that no ordinary man could lift its carved and decorated length. He drew it from its scabbard,
broke the chain on its hilt, and then, savage, now angry and desperate, lifted it high over his head and
struck with all the strength he had left, caught her in the neck and cut it through, broke bones and all.

Cultural Awareness And Delivery Of Appropriate Care
Cultural Heritage As health care providers, it is imperative to acknowledge the relationship between
cultural awareness and delivery of appropriate care. The first step in creating cultural awareness may
begin by the provider assessing their own cultural heritage, and it s views on health and wellness.
Reflection on one s cultural heritage requires knowledge and understanding of the concept of cultural
heritage itself. When assessing my cultural heritage, I first examined the factors that are identified as
contributors to one s heritage. According the Joint Commission (2010), culture can be defined as
integrated patterns of human behavior that include the language, thoughts, communications, actions,
customs, beliefs, values, and institutions of racial, ethnic, religious, or social groups . Once reflecting
on these patterns, I concluded that my ethnicity and religious upbringing were the two components of
my heritage that most greatly affected my behaviors. I belong to the Franco American, English, and
Scottish ethnic groups. However, being predominately Franco American and having closer
relationships with my family members of this ethnicity as a child, I mainly identify with this group.
Since their migration to various locations in New England; primarily throughout the late eighteen

The Northeast as a Bioregion Currently residing in the state of Vermont the bioregion to which I ve
been informally assigned to is commonly known as the Laurentia bioregion. This assignment of
bioregion is widely accepted, but when looked at more deeply assigning Vermont to the Laurentia
bioregion becomes problematic. There are seemingly an endless number of variables that contribute to
the characteristics and attributes that one can choose from to define their bioregion, yet those
characteristics can widely vary even within a singular bioregion. Geologic makeup, weather patterns,
soil type, biologic diversity, political influence, human activity, and the natural processes that occur
within any given bioregion must be considered when analyzing and attempting to assign themselves to
a bioregion. Laurentia as a bioregion is one of the largest bioregions that exist and has a very large
degree of characteristics and variance within its biologic, geologic, and cultural attributes (Figure 1.
Bioregions and Biotones). Laurentia is a bioregion sits atop the Laurentian craton in the northeastern
United States and eastern Canada, and centering on the Great Lakes. The bioregion spans the Eastern
Woodlands of North America from the easternmost part of the Great Plains to the Atlantic Coast of the

Movement Analysis for an Instep Kick
A Review of the Biomechanics Involved in Soccer Kicking a ball is a fundamental movement that
most individuals have learned to do since taking their first steps. However, kicking in the sport of
soccer is the single most important aspect of the game. The success of the team derives heavily on
proper technique and form of each player on the field. Good technique will not only increase the

The placement of the non kicking foot determines the direction of the kick. The support leg also acts
as a stabilizer by flexing at the knee once the foot makes contact with the ground. (Lees, Asai,
Andersen, Nunome Sterzing, 2010) Pictured below in Figures 1 and 2 are two different athletes with
very diverse abilities. You can see both the direction of the planted foot and the flexion of the knee in
both players.

Technology Is Destroying The Music Industry
Every adult, over the age of 18, has seen the changes the music industry has gone through since the
introduction of the internet, digital downloading, and online streaming. We have heard that Tapes,
CDs, MP3s, and the internet were going to destroy the industry. Have they destroyed it yet? According
to Ian Morris, Author of the article, Technology is Destroying the Music Industry, Which is Great for
the Next Taylor Swift , music is changing but the only thing the internet is destroying are the record
labels. Which he explains as a good thing for the industry. Morris talks about the roles the record label
plays and why it s on the way out. The biggest change in music since the internet was the development
of Napster. 2014 marked fifteen years after the rise and fall of this online file sharing platform. The
article 15 years After Napster: How the Music Service Changed the Industry , by Alex Suskind, talks
about the failed program and why the biggest change in the music industry made record labels scared.
So what does this all mean and why should people care? Well for starters when it comes to musicians
and record labels, the company makes most of the money, as well as most of the decisions. Music was
never meant to be something that was used for money. Music is made enjoyment and should be shared
without extensive rules and regulations. Music existed before man and will exist after. It is not
something that should be governed by big companies looking to make money. The

In order to have the Situational Awareness equipment function, portions of the Tactical system and the
entire internal network between the Tactical and SA equipment must be installed. The reciprocal of
this is also true for Tactical support carried by NSWC Dahlgren; the Tactical system must also be
installed with portions of the SA equipment and the entire network for Dahlgren to provide their
support. As Dahlgren is contracted by C3CEN for support of this equipment, C3CEN is also paying
for the equipment that Dahlgren will use. Using the breakdown of hardware system costs found in
reference (b), if the system is assembled as designed, one entire network system at a cost of $130,000

music is universal, music can change your mood, and music can change your perspective. Ethos, logos
and pathos where the big three in this paper and when writing the paper, you had to show how the
writer builds these rhetorical appeals. I chose the song What I Love About The South by Rodney

write about, so I read the book about the three things that make a good rhetorical triangle, asked
question and worked really hard on all of the in class activities. Ethos is the use of persuasive

My Life Of The Southside Milwaukee Community
I was very excited when I saw that Core/ El Centro is looking for summer interns. They have made so
many meaningful improvements in the lives of families of the Southside Milwaukee community. As a
child, I used to live off Windlake and Becher. In high school, I performed with the Modjeska Youth

Farmers markets serve as an excellent community center to bring families together around food, and
this internship position can use this key setting show families how delicious, easy, and affordable
healthy eating can be. At UWM, I have done many food demonstrations for faculty, students, and

Romantic Love
I choose to describe the putative relationship between Adam and Caroline in the movie Untamed Heart
. It starts off with Caroline in a just ending relationship where she is hung up on the guy that left her.
Her friends call her on it and help her refrain from trying to repair it. This guy Adam is a hard
working, quiet, shy, very shy especially around Caroline, because he has a serious infatuation about
her. Every thing she does he studies. In the beginning of the movie it starts out that he has a deep
infatuation with her. He even follows her home without her even knowing, until one day she was
almost getting raped, and he saved her because of his infatuation for her. She bandaged him up in her
woman caring way and he couldn t even ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And, of course, the other s well being—something you care about—requires that nonsubservient
autonomy too. It seems as they slowly develop this romantic relationship with each other it never
could get worse, they have added a new entity to the world. Adams infatuation becomes love, or is
Adams infatuation love, or does it become a stronger love? I say all of the above, especially stronger
because his fantasies come true. And as Caroline finds out he can fulfill her properties she looks for in
a man. Until his heart fails once more this time leading to death. With this loss of his life, Caroline is
not whole anymore, she is only herself, that identity of them together is gone. Now she will have to go
on with a new identity because the one that was created with Adam is no longer there physically.
Where Nozicks view comes falls short of the relationship is when he says that infatuation might hold
people together until they are stuck, or in love. Because in this relationship only one had an infatuation
on the other. I totally agree with Nozicks view that if we are in a good situation there should be no
reason to ruin it by trading up. Caroline will have a hard time finding the same romantic love she did
with Adam because there isn t anybody who loved her more than Adam, maybe except her parents,
which is the

The Role Of The Divine Comedy In Dante s Inferno
The archetype of the sage pervades the epics of old: King Arthur had Merlin, Gilgamesh had
Utnapishtim, and Odysseus had Mentor. In his work The Divine Comedy, Dante Alighieri subverts the
clichéd, all knowing and morally sound guide by placing Virgil the poet in this role. Virgil s tragic
predicament as a virtuous pagan propels Inferno s message with respect to the nature of sin through
his interplay with both Dante the Pilgrim and his surroundings.
To examine Virgil s role in the Divine Comedy as a whole, one must first delineate the three main
characters of the Inferno: Dante the Pilgrim, Dante the Poet, and Virgil. Dante the Poet is the speaker
of the tale within the text (not Dante himself in reality, who will be referred to as Dante the Author),
and he recounts the previous journey of Dante the Pilgrim through the three sections of the afterlife. In
this role, Dante the Poet often interjects his own thoughts about the sights around him, such as when,
regarding the eighth circle and ninth Bolgia of Hell, he writes that assuredly would every tongue fall
short,/ by reason of our speech and intellect,/ which serve but little to describe so much (Inf. 28.4 6).
Thus, Dante the Poet (whose tongue apparently did not fall short) describes his past journey through a
more objective standpoint than Dante the Pilgrim.
Dante the Pilgrim, on the other hand, corresponds to Dante ten years before the Poet wrote this story,
who must travel through the afterlife to align himself

Why Is Competitive Sports Good For Kids
Some think that competitive sports are a bad things for kids to play, but others think competitive
sports are a good thing for kids to play. It s clear that overall kids playing competitive sports is a good
thing for many reasons like it can get them into good health and get them fit, it teaches kids good life
lessons and to be collaborative, and it gets the kids off the couch and be productive instead on being
on their technology all the time. One reason that people think competitive sports are good for kids to
play is because it teaches kids valuable lessons like teaching them to work together and be
collaborative. For example, the article states, Competitive sports improve athletic skill and teach
players how to work with teammates and win, which can be helpful lessons. (Negatives about

Index numbers are statistical measures designed to show changes in a variable or group of related
variables with respect to time, geographic location or other characteristics such as income, profession,

respect to a base. A composite index number is a number that measures an average relative changes in
a group of relative variables with respect to a base.

Virtue Ethics And Care Ethics
As various ethical theories continue to be debated, it can be difficult to determine which model
provides the best criteria. However, two theories in particular virtue ethics and care ethics, have
continued to catch much attention since the mid twentieth century. Although each of these theories are
often associated with one another, they both contain their own distinct philosophies. As a result, it is
important to clearly understand what each theory entails before concluding that one is derived from
the other. Although virtue ethics and care ethics share similar beliefs and rejections, virtue ethics is
clearly separate from care ethics. Virtue ethics, tracing its roots back to the Middle Ages, stresses the
importance of an individual being virtuous, which comes from developing a virtuous personal
character. It also allows for the possibility of many right choices, since virtuous people can make
choices differently. Aristotle was the only person to come up with a clear cut virtue theory. He
believed that people should be virtuous in order to achieve happiness, or eudaimonia. Additionally,
Aristotle found that in order to become virtuous, a person must know the right thing, intend the right
thing, and have their actions stem from their established character. He also came up with term golden
mean , which seeks to achieve a balance in one s virtues. For instance, Aristotle felt that one should
find a balance of anger. When seeking a balance of anger, it is

What Is The Theme Of Steel Magnolias
Steel Magnolias is a classic comedy drama between six fabulous women who go through and a short
part of their life to creating love and happiness to each other while enduring pain and sorrow. The

even the actors. But with all them girls in one famous place they love to be in, the beauty salon, all of

b. I believe the customers do make high volume purchases, which would make them powerful.

e. The tobacco growers (suppliers) do not have differentiation in their product. This weakens their
power because the tobacco industry does not have to pay more for the tobacco because it is basically
all the same.
f. It is not costly to switch suppliers. Some companies choose to switch to a less expensive supplier in
order to lower the cost of their products. This weakens the power of the suppliers.
g. The suppliers can not easily vertically integrate forward and become their own customer because of
the many costs in manufacturing tobacco.
h. Overall, I believe the suppliers are highly powerful in the tobacco industry.
Existing Industry Competitors
a. Overall, the growth rate of the industry is moderate. Tobacco consumption is rising rapidly in
developing countries. However, in the U.S. cigarette consumption has been slipping by about two
percent per year. This means that there is a moderate level of competition for the existing tobacco
industry competitors.
b. There is a mixture of fixed costs and variable costs associated with this industry. This keeps
competition at a moderate level because the companies want to increase sales possibly by lowering
costs and still earn a profit.
c. There is a high

An old man, a young man, and life s greatest lesson may be the most prominent understatement of the
book Tuesdays with Morrie. In reality, the book is about a wise old man fighting a lethal disease,
known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and Lou Gehrig s disease, teaching a young man life s
greatest lessons during meetings that always take place on Tuesdays. Morrie Schwartz is the old man
with the fatal disease and life s greatest lessons to teach, and Mitch Albom is the young man who
becomes the student once again in his old professor s study. One might make the argument that Mitch
got the most out of the Tuesday meetings, however Morrie attained more from each of his last
fourteen Tuesdays spent with Mitch. To begin, Morrie got the most out of the Tuesday meetings with
Mitch as Morrie was able to spend his last days sharing what he loved to do with someone he loved.
Morrie devoted his life to teaching, and he even stated himself, I decided what I wanted on my
tombstone... A Teacher to the Last (134). It is only fair that Morrie spent his last days teaching
something he would love to do to his death meaningful life lessons that would have countless impacts
on millions of lives besides Mitch s. In addition, Morrie so loved Mitch that he went as far as to say, If
I could have had another son, I would have liked it to be you (168). It is impossible to measure how
much love was in Morrie s heart for Mitch after they had first reunited in sixteen years and in the

Evolution Of The Doctor Patient Relationship Into Modern...
THE EVOLUTION OF THE DOCTOR PATIENT RELATIONSHIP INTO MODERN TIMES
With the onset of current technological innovations as well as new modern developments in the health
care world, the traditional relationship doctors once had with their patients has evolved dramatically.
Instead of strictly focusing on the well being of their patients, doctors now more than ever have
additional roles in the health care world, from advancing patient care outside of the hospital, to
becoming more informed of the for profit clinics that are readily increasing in numbers across the
country. Doctors are continually trying to increase their productivity while accepting these additional
roles. This expansion of the doctor s roles has led to the decrease in effectiveness in the connection
with patients. Long gone are the days in which doctors took the appropriate amount of time to nurture
the intimate and sacred relationship they had with their patients. Instead, doctors rush to see as many
patients as possible a day, sacrificing quality of care. Currently, doctors are spread too thinly and are
slowly dissolving the trust of patients. The unfortunate shift of the doctor patient relationship in today
s society is undeniably devastating with the accumulation of these changes. Traditionally, doctors had
complete knowledge of the full medical history of all patients and every single health complication
each patient amassed. With technology playing a huge factor in the modern era and people

Business Management And My Dream Job
During my sophomore year in high school, I made up my mind, I wanted to study business. My uncle
owns his own business, he took me to work with him one day ever since then I have been in love with
the concept of being your own boss. Although I didn t really understood at the time what the job
required or was about. The environment felt so natural and positive. As I got older and started looking
more into it really felt like something suited for me that is why I choose this career. My major is
Business Management and my dream job is to become a Management Analyst. A bachelor degree is
needed for entry level job as a management analyst, however most employers prefer to hire
management analyst who has a Master s Degree in Business Administration (MBA). Psychology is
one of the required courses needed to get a business management, the others are Accounting, Intro
Contemporary Business, business law, principles of marketing, public speaking, Principles of
Sociology, Intro to Computer
Applications Introductory Technical and Business Writing, the Dynamics of Communication. I truly
believe that psychology will help me greatly in the field of business management the reason for that
being, we learned a lot this semester of all things we learning how to deal with stress had to be one my
favorite. I plan on entering a field where the stress level is way above average, so therefore I will
apply the techniques we used in class.

Elementary Classroom Observation
This paper will look at boys behaviour in an elementary school classroom from an education
professional standpoint. Specifically, how to modify the aggressive behaviour of boys who speak out
of turn in class. It will look at the effect that behaviour specific praise has on aggressive behaviour.
Multiple forms of differential reinforcement will also be examined in regards to how to transform a
boy who acts out for attention into a boy who understands his behaviour is not necessary. Differences
between girls and boys in an elementary school classroom will also be considered. Through this
process teacher, child and the rest of the class will benefit. This paper will begin with ideas for general
classroom management and then narrow down ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main behaviour issue that she would like Austin to work on is not speaking out in class. She
would like him to raise his hand before he speaks. In Ms. Walker s class, the students are encouraged
to raise their hand anytime they have something to say, a question to ask, or a request for the teacher.
Since the beginning of the school year, Austin has repeatedly disobeyed this rule. It is posted in the
front of the classroom, and Ms. Walker consistently reminds Austin of this, but he forgets. He is not a
typical bad student. He does not do this simply for the fun of it he actually forgets to raise his hand.
He has a thought and immediately wants to act on that thought. He comes from a broken home: his
father left the family when Austin was seven. His mother struggles while working two jobs. Austin
goes to the before and after school program the school offers. His mother is loving towards all four of
her children, but Austin does occasionally get neglected. He has less than ideal self esteem and is
difficult to motivate. When instructed on a one to one basis, Austin is able to complete tasks with
moderate difficulty. Ms. Walker does not have an Educational Assistant in her class, but she does
make an effort to instruct Austin individually there are other needs in her class that take priority over
this one. Behaviour specific praise for Austin

Rethinking the Finality of and Democracy in the American...
Is the United States Constitution a sacred and absolute document? Dahl (2001) argued that the
Constitution is not perfect or permanent in his book, How Democratic is the American Constitution.
He stresses that his main aim is not to propose that the Constitution must be amended, but to facilitate
readers in changing how they think about the Constitution. In order to help people rethink the
Constitution, Dahl (2001) explained the limitations of its Framers and the Constitution s not widely
known undemocratic aspects. The strengths of the book are its ethos or reputation of the author that
establishes his credibility, informal writing style that can appeal to more people, its consideration of a
number of undemocratic aspects of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Aside from these awards, he has authored twenty three books and textbooks, a number of which are
seen as seminal books of modern political thinking (Hertzberg, 2002). Apart from these distinct
products on the political science field, Dahl has earned the esteem of his peers. Fred I. Greenstein of
Princeton described Dahl as the premier democratic theorist of our time, James S. Fishkin of the
University of Texas called Dahl the premier analyst of democratic theory and democratic institutions
writing today, and Theodore J. Lowi of Cornell stressed that Dahl is the foremost political theorist of
this generation (Hertzberg, 2002). From these impressive honors and esteemed praises, Dahl is argued
as someone who knows his expertise. If Dahl thinks that something is wrong with the Constitution, his
ethos gives him validity and credibility. Besides ethos, Dahl has created a book with an engaging
writing style that fits the audience of educated students, whether they are in college, or whether they
got their education from being wide readers. Dahl (2011) has a conversational approach to his writing
that makes his theories and arguments easy to read and understand, even for first year students who
have a good, not advanced level, grasp of the American language. For instance, he says: ...we
Americans are free...to alter our constitution by amendment and have often done so...our present

My Passion For A Graduate Degree
I was born in Inglewood, CA, the son of two immigrant parents. Growing up, I always knew the
importance of education; it was ingrained in me by my mother and father. They grew up in Mexico
where they both loved school until their economic hardships forced them to come to the U.S. and
work. I am the first person in my family to go to college and will be the first to pursue a graduate
degree. The passion for education that my parents instilled, as well as my cultural values, drives me to
pursue a graduate degree. Early in my undergraduate education I became interested in research and
statistics, specifically related to education. My passion for quantitative methods came after I enrolled
in my Psychological Methods class. This inspired me to expand my knowledge of statistics and go
outside the department to enroll in other advanced statistics courses. These classroom experiences
along with applied research and evaluation experience culminated with me wanting to obtain a
graduate degree in quantitative methods. I want to be able to give back to my community and I hope
to fulfill this goal by conducting research with underrepresented populations, like the Latino
population and believe the University of Maryland would be a great stepping stone to my goal.
When I first came to college, I had no idea what the experience would be like, but I was excited for
this new chapter in my life. I enrolled in courses I thought I would easily surpass, but a couple of
weeks into them, I felt

Promiscuity Vs Sexual Addiction
Human Sexual promiscuity has been around since the existence of Human Beings. To clearly
understand and define sexual promiscuity there must be a distinction made between the difference
between sexual promiscuity and sexual addiction because they are controversially close in definition.
Looking at the word sexual addiction itself any scholar would then presume that with addiction in the
word, the definition would then be: a person pathologically habituated to sexual behaviors. In
comparison, promiscuity is similar, defined with the same definition based upon different societal
standards, genders and civil status.

Saddam Hussien And The Iraq-Iraq War
Thank you for your comment! Now for the response... (My apologies for this will be extensive).
Know extensively the history of the Middle East, from the back of my hand without resource.
One thing that can agree on was that the system in Baathist Iraq was excellent. There was no
corruption being committed by others, due to fear and strictness of Saddam Hussein. The educational
system was excellent, as after completing primary and secondary school, you could head to a well
managed university. Prices were low in a convenient setting, reflecting a strong economy. In fact, the
averaged price for a automobile was equivalent to 1,200 IQD. A grain rice could be bought for less
than 4 IQD. The rate of owning a home didn t carry a burden. Overall, the ... Show more content on

Eventually, the Kurds would be saved by the United States of America and the West, as they would

32nd and deep 33rd degree axis in the South, that would protect the Shia majority Arabs in this

I Had Never Spent Much Time Evaluating My Values System...
I had never spent much time evaluating my values system before taking on this assignment. I believed
that I was wired to think the way I do, and that nothing in particular had to be the cause for my
feelings on certain things. By writing this paper and learning about values, I was able to take a hard
look at myself and figure out what my personal values stem from. My values relating to the key issues
of women s reproduction, poverty/money, health care in America, and minority groups have
blossomed out of personal experiences and experiences I have heard about from those close to me. I
also found several themes that underlie why I have the values that I do, and why I think about these
topics in the way that I do. Women s reproduction is the most important of the topics to me, because
when it comes to women s reproduction I look at the subject from two points of view. The first point
of view I see is the main reason the topic is discussed, which is the sexual/reproductive side. The other
point I see is my own personal experience, which has nothing to do with reproduction but concerns
health. My core values relative to this area are dignity and worth of a person and social justice. I chose
these two because I think every woman should be able to access forms of birth control and abortion
without being criticized. Not being able to do that, in my view, is discrimination. I think the woman
who is choosing these actions is of enough worth to be able to make the right decision for

  • 3. Watchmen Themes Even though Watchmen takes place in an alternate Cold War setting, the themes remain relevant for today s society. We do not have any superheroes to help combat wars and so, the world is in the hands of flawed humans, just as it was in the novel; world leaders are subject to societal pressures and thus commit erroneous judgements in times of stress. Oftentimes, there are situations where the clashing ideologies of individuals create rising tensions, such as with the Palestine conflict between the Israelis and Palestinians, which can be paralleled to the situation of the heroes in the novel. Furthermore, it is difficult to judge which beliefs assert the most proper morals because each individual is subject to their own opinions. Watchmen also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This theme, although normally presented by non human characters in science fiction such as Doctor Manhattan, remains relevant as humans progress because we are increasingly researching non human fields like aliens and cyborgs, blurring the line between the human and the non human. As technology advances and fiction becomes reality, it is completely possible for the government to gain a hold of a powerful weapon like Manhattan, giving them strategic advantage in times of war. Nevertheless, we are still human and face our own ideological and moral battles. Moore s intentions with Watchmen were to make the readers take a step back from reality and evaluate whether our contentious efforts will be worthwhile. He purposefully includes flawed characters because he knows that humanity is not perfect either, but we still face the similar issues to that of the Watchmen. It is an approach to reality as a web of co incidence and chance in which the reader can identify with the characters and their actions (Barber). Although comic books today feature superheroes battling present day conflicts, they are not realistic because even the heroes that are completely human do not possess the fundamentals of man. Heroes, like Batman, have an unbreakable will despite the trauma they go through (Wu). In this way, Watchmen s appeal comes from the exposure of the normality of human imperfections; however, we ... However, by researching embryonic stem cells, scientists can study normal human development, create new drugs and medicines, and replace damaged or destroyed cells. Reincarnation is the center of the Faith, the teaching that all things become unified through living many lives. After each cycle of life, karma decides which caste or level of life a person will next experience. Lying, cheating scumbags, who were greedy and did not assist the poor could be reincarnated upon death into a life of poverty and illness. With a little hope, such a soul would learn a valuable lesson and the next time around would be a bit more comfortable. Some Hindus also believe that a human can be reincarnated as an animal. The chapters I read reminded me of the importance of differentiating for the wide variety of needs in my classroom. It is essential that I differentiate the content, process, and product on a regular basis. Sometimes I overthink differentiated instruction, making it too complicated in my head. Carol Ann Tomlinson (2001) specifically reminded me that differentiation can be successfully accomplished by all teachers through both low preparation methods and high preparation methods. When a classroom s instruction is differentiated, teachers sometimes have questions about how grading may be different than a traditional classroom. Because of reading the above mentioned literature, I now have a greater awareness of formative assessments, rubrics, and building mutual understandings of grading practices among teachers. Formative assessment is meant to be used regularly to provide students with feedback about how they can continue to improve and grow as a learner and to inform a teacher s next step instructionally. The world s motivation to do the best we can and to accomplish what no other has is stimulated by competitiveness. Our relationship with our family, friends, neighbors, community, and the planet is what inspires us to push ourselves to our culminating limits. Many would witness contention amongst children as a detrimental aspect of behavior, while in reality competition is what allows us to excel beyond our accomplishments. Students can set goals for themselves and become proud of the work they achieved when they look at themselves in the mirror and envision the person they have become. When we apprehend the reality of the world, we come to realize that there is little in life for which we do not compete for. Our country, our world, needs to redefine the interpretation of competition and what it means to be successful and unsuccessful in life, particularly in education. Competitiveness is the process of motivating students by fueling their flame to success. It is the opposition between two forces that contest to achieve the same goal, success. Competitiveness defines us as human beings. The ideology of competition derives from our obligation to surpass others in life. The product is dependent on the type of hydrogen that is being subjected to the bromination, whether that be aliphatic, allylic, benzylic, vinylic, acetylenic, or aromatic. By comparing the relative reactivity rates between the different hydrogens to bromine, a hypothesized ranking of reactivity was made of the provided hydrocarbons: toluene, ethyl benzene, tert butylbenzene, cyclohexane, and methylcyclohexane. This hypothesis was then tested during the actual lab period by preparing two sets of reactions for each hydrocarbon: one in light and one in dark. Technology Is Destroying The Music Industry Every adult, over the age of 18, has seen the changes the music industry has gone through since the introduction of the internet, digital downloading, and online streaming. We have heard that Tapes, CDs, MP3s, and the internet were going to destroy the industry. Have they destroyed it yet? According to Ian Morris, Author of the article, Technology is Destroying the Music Industry, Which is Great for the Next Taylor Swift , music is changing but the only thing the internet is destroying are the record labels. Which he explains as a good thing for the industry. Morris talks about the roles the record label plays and why it s on the way out. The biggest change in music since the internet was the development of Napster. 2014 marked fifteen years after the rise and fall of this online file sharing platform. The article 15 years After Napster: How the Music Service Changed the Industry , by Alex Suskind, talks about the failed program and why the biggest change in the music industry made record labels scared. So what does this all mean and why should people care? Well for starters when it comes to musicians and record labels, the company makes most of the money, as well as most of the decisions. Music was never meant to be something that was used for money. Music is made enjoyment and should be shared without extensive rules and regulations. Music existed before man and will exist after. As Dahlgren is contracted by C3CEN for support of this equipment, C3CEN is also paying for the equipment that Dahlgren will use. This guy Adam is a hard working, quiet, shy, very shy especially around Caroline, because he has a serious infatuation about her. Every thing she does he studies. In the beginning of the movie it starts out that he has a deep infatuation with her. And as Caroline finds out he can fulfill her properties she looks for in a man. Until his heart fails once more this time leading to death. With this loss of his life, Caroline is not whole anymore, she is only herself, that identity of them together is gone. Now she will have to go on with a new identity because the one that was created with Adam is no longer there physically. Where Nozicks view comes falls short of the relationship is when he says that infatuation might hold people together until they are stuck, or in love. Because in this relationship only one had an infatuation on the other. I totally agree with Nozicks view that if we are in a good situation there should be no reason to ruin it by trading up. • 31. The Role Of The Divine Comedy In Dante s Inferno The archetype of the sage pervades the epics of old: King Arthur had Merlin, Gilgamesh had Utnapishtim, and Odysseus had Mentor. In his work The Divine Comedy, Dante Alighieri subverts the clichéd, all knowing and morally sound guide by placing Virgil the poet in this role. Virgil s tragic predicament as a virtuous pagan propels Inferno s message with respect to the nature of sin through his interplay with both Dante the Pilgrim and his surroundings. To examine Virgil s role in the Divine Comedy as a whole, one must first delineate the three main characters of the Inferno: Dante the Pilgrim, Dante the Poet, and Virgil. Dante the Poet is the speaker of the tale within the text (not Dante himself in reality, who will be referred to as Dante the Author), and he recounts the previous journey of Dante the Pilgrim through the three sections of the afterlife. In this role, Dante the Poet often interjects his own thoughts about the sights around him, such as when, regarding the eighth circle and ninth Bolgia of Hell, he writes that assuredly would every tongue fall short,/ by reason of our speech and intellect,/ which serve but little to describe so much (Inf. 28.4 6). Thus, Dante the Poet (whose tongue apparently did not fall short) describes his past journey through a more objective standpoint than Dante the Pilgrim. Dante the Pilgrim, on the other hand, corresponds to Dante ten years before the Poet wrote this story, who must travel through the afterlife to align himself ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 39. Virtue Ethics And Care Ethics As various ethical theories continue to be debated, it can be difficult to determine which model provides the best criteria. However, two theories in particular virtue ethics and care ethics, have continued to catch much attention since the mid twentieth century. Although each of these theories are often associated with one another, they both contain their own distinct philosophies. As a result, it is important to clearly understand what each theory entails before concluding that one is derived from the other. Although virtue ethics and care ethics share similar beliefs and rejections, virtue ethics is clearly separate from care ethics. Virtue ethics, tracing its roots back to the Middle Ages, stresses the importance of an individual being virtuous, which comes from developing a virtuous personal character. It also allows for the possibility of many right choices, since virtuous people can make choices differently. Aristotle was the only person to come up with a clear cut virtue theory. He believed that people should be virtuous in order to achieve happiness, or eudaimonia. Additionally, Aristotle found that in order to become virtuous, a person must know the right thing, intend the right thing, and have their actions stem from their established character. He also came up with term golden mean , which seeks to achieve a balance in one s virtues. For instance, Aristotle felt that one should find a balance of anger. THE EVOLUTION OF THE DOCTOR PATIENT RELATIONSHIP INTO MODERN TIMES With the onset of current technological innovations as well as new modern developments in the health care world, the traditional relationship doctors once had with their patients has evolved dramatically. Instead of strictly focusing on the well being of their patients, doctors now more than ever have additional roles in the health care world, from advancing patient care outside of the hospital, to becoming more informed of the for profit clinics that are readily increasing in numbers across the country. Doctors are continually trying to increase their productivity while accepting these additional roles. This expansion of the doctor s roles has led to the decrease in effectiveness in the connection with patients. Long gone are the days in which doctors took the appropriate amount of time to nurture the intimate and sacred relationship they had with their patients. Instead, doctors rush to see as many patients as possible a day, sacrificing quality of care. Currently, doctors are spread too thinly and are slowly dissolving the trust of patients. I am the first person in my family to go to college and will be the first to pursue a graduate degree. My passion for quantitative methods came after I enrolled in my Psychological Methods class. This inspired me to expand my knowledge of statistics and go outside the department to enroll in other advanced statistics courses. These classroom experiences along with applied research and evaluation experience culminated with me wanting to obtain a graduate degree in quantitative methods. I want to be able to give back to my community and I hope to fulfill this goal by conducting research with underrepresented populations, like the Latino population and believe the University of Maryland would be a great stepping stone to my goal. When I first came to college, I had no idea what the experience would be like, but I was excited for this new chapter in my life. I enrolled in courses I thought I would easily surpass, but a couple of weeks into them, I felt ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 49. Promiscuity Vs Sexual Addiction Human Sexual promiscuity has been around since the existence of Human Beings. To clearly understand and define sexual promiscuity there must be a distinction made between the difference between sexual promiscuity and sexual addiction because they are controversially close in definition. Looking at the word sexual addiction itself any scholar would then presume that with addiction in the word, the definition would then be: a person pathologically habituated to sexual behaviors. In comparison, promiscuity is similar, defined with the same definition based upon different societal standards, genders and civil status. Recently celebrities like Russell Brand, Lindsay Lohan, and Tiger Woods have been making headlines with confessions of sexual ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 50. Saddam Hussien And The Iraq-Iraq War Thank you for your comment! Now for the response... (My apologies for this will be extensive). Know extensively the history of the Middle East, from the back of my hand without resource. One thing that can agree on was that the system in Baathist Iraq was excellent. There was no corruption being committed by others, due to fear and strictness of Saddam Hussein. The educational system was excellent, as after completing primary and secondary school, you could head to a well managed university. Prices were low in a convenient setting, reflecting a strong economy. In fact, the averaged price for a automobile was equivalent to 1,200 IQD. A grain rice could be bought for less than 4 IQD. The rate of owning a home didn t carry a burden. Overall, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Which showed the cruelty of nationalism. Which is illogical, because he disliked the Shia Arabs, who were the same ethnic group, but different sect of religion. Eventually, the Kurds would be saved by the United States of America and the West, as they would provide the no fly zone in the 36 degree parallel in the North, ultimately establishing a autonomous region for the Kurds to operate their own quasi nation in that enclave. The other no fly zone in the 32nd and deep 33rd degree axis in the South, that would protect the Shia majority Arabs in this regions. The purpose of the no fly zone was to slow down and ultimately stop Saddam Hussein s militaristic actions towards the groups. The irony is that Saddam Hussien would fuel the fire to the long and already sectarian violence of the nation, and officially split of the groups rather uniting the people ... • 51. I Had Never Spent Much Time Evaluating My Values System... I had never spent much time evaluating my values system before taking on this assignment. I believed that I was wired to think the way I do, and that nothing in particular had to be the cause for my feelings on certain things. By writing this paper and learning about values, I was able to take a hard look at myself and figure out what my personal values stem from. My values relating to the key issues of women s reproduction, poverty/money, health care in America, and minority groups have blossomed out of personal experiences and experiences I have heard about from those close to me. I also found several themes that underlie why I have the values that I do, and why I think about these topics in the way that I do. Women s reproduction is the most important of the topics to me, because when it comes to women s reproduction I look at the subject from two points of view. The first point of view I see is the main reason the topic is discussed, which is the sexual/reproductive side. The other point I see is my own personal experience, which has nothing to do with reproduction but concerns health. My core values relative to this area are dignity and worth of a person and social justice. I chose these two because I think every woman should be able to access forms of birth control and abortion without being criticized. Not being able to do that, in my view, is discrimination. I think the woman who is choosing these actions is of enough worth to be able to make the right decision for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
