Essay On Mexican Americans In The 1960s
In the 1960s, the Mexican Americans identity reached a point where it was integrated into the
political life of the nation. The Chicano population was so large in numbers that they could no
longer be ignored in the cities. They had profoundly affected the economy, politics, fashion, and
music in the 60s. The baby boomers generation listened to Rock and roll and supported integration
and opposed the Vietnam War. World War II raised the awareness of civil rights and liberties
among minorities. The revolt of youth during the decade challenged the stability of the middle class
and the ruling elite. The Ford foundation in the 1960s, funded a million dollars to the University of
California to study Mexican Americans in the 1960 census. The census showed that Spanish
surnamed persons in the Southwest earned $968 per capita, less than half of the income that white
Americans made. Unemployment was also higher among Chicanos. Social segregation was still
common in places like Texas and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Harvest of Shame was a documentary that was aired. It went on to tell the miserable plight of
migrant workers, showing families working in horrible working environments, living in run down
housing, enduring misery so that an affluent nation could be fed. The people in the video were the
forgotten people, the underclothes, underfed, and undereducated. Most immigrants didn t get paid

Effects Of Second Hand Vehicles In The Zimbabwean Economy
INTRODUCTION
The Zimbabwean economy is nose diving and experiencing huge cash shortages of the currency
in circulation ,this is being seen as the banks are now rationing the payments, giving each
individual about $100 per day and sometimes less or no cash , also money is now not easily
accessible from mobile bankers like eco cash, telecash and one wallet, this is being caused by the
imports which are outweighing the exports and among these imports there is the importation of
second hand cars which is seen to have dominated the imports of Zimbabwe. In 2013 between
January and November the Zimbabweans imported about 206 519 cars worth over $606 million
(ZIMSTATS,The Herald 23 April 2014).Thus the importation of second hand vehicles is worsening
the trade deficit that is already unfavorable as in 2013 the budget deficit stood at
$3billion(ZIMSTAT).
Willowvale Mazda Motor Industry s production slumped from 18 000 vehicles per year in 1997
to below 4 000 vehicles and stopped producing in 2012 (Zimbabwe Independent 22 May 2015),this
was mainly due to the importation of second hand vehicles by the Zimbabweans as they were less
costly and complied with their budgets, the other players such as Quest motors and Croco motors in
the automobile sector are being affected in the same manner leading to unemployment due to low
capacity utilization in these companies as the demand new vehicles was estimated to be 25
000(Zimbabwe Independent 22 May 2015).

Stanley s Misrepresentation Act 1967
In this essay, we research thoroughly about Stanley s case. The Misrepresentation Act 1967 can
be applied here since Shirley misrepresented the fact that publishers wouldn t want to publish
Stanley s book since she clearly said that no publisher want to publish his book. The relevant
legal laws that we ve looked upon are mere representation, distortion of a positive statement and
fraudulent misrepresentation. After researching through the legal framework that s applied to
this case, we support the plaintiff and hence, Stanley should sue Shirley because she
misrepresented the fact that Stanley had written a great book. However, Stanley is also at fault
here since he didn t question her regarding why she wanted the manuscript she clearly said no
publisher would be interested in. He should have asked why she wanted the book in the first
place. The remedies that s available for Stanley is rescission and damages in contract but once he
files a case in the court, he ll opt for damages in contract because that s the most suitable remedy
for Stanley since he ll get money back for the damages Shirley had caused him.... Show more

If the statement turns out to be a false one, a claim for misrepresentation may be brought against the

My Core Values
My Core Values Core values are a person or an organization s fundamental beliefs, these
principles prescribe behavior along with helping people understand the difference between right
and wrong, values are what motivate you in life. They are what guide you along the path of
fulfilment, so essentially your values are the foundation of who you are (C.Worsley). These
values are important to have because they are what shape you, they make every person unique.
Having a spirit of adventure, perseverance, and having patience are only some of my core values.
Knowing what you cherish is very important and is something many people should revise. Being
adventurous is how you start to understand who you really are. Many people believe it is
dangerous to travel, not worth it. But I believe, the world is dangerous. There are shootings
everyday but getting out there and risking it is just living. Being adventurous shows you how
others have to live, what so many people deal with every day. Or what so many people get to see
every day, the beautiful yet cruel world we live in. There is a purpose for everything here, it is
meant to be seen. We are not here to work everyday and then go home to rest and do it all over
again, we were made to make a difference and to understand the world. Mountains were made to
climb, oceans were made to be seen, and landmarks were too, in reality nothing is more damaging
to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a

The Purpose Of The Naturalization Process
The naturalization process for an individual starts when that individual wishes to become an
American citizen. After an interest has been established, the individual can then start with the
naturalization process. The person I interviewed said that she wanted the convenience of
traveling without a visa. After she completed the required tests and was given her certificate of
citizenship she became an official citizen. The purpose of the naturalization process is to admit
people to the status of an American citizen. This is done through series of examinations and a fee
to see if the individual is eligible to become a citizen. One check done before being admitted was
seeing if the applicant had good moral character. Eligibility for being a citizen

thought the beaker was created sometime between 4200 and 3500 B.C.E. The Beaker with Ibex

Fall Of The Jin Dynasty
Following the fall of the Hans dynasty in 220 C.E., China divided into three separate kingdoms
known as the Three Kingdom Era. Powerful families and warlords who were in a constant battle
against each other led the north, south, and west. In addition to these battles, disease and natural
disasters also took an extensive toll on China. The battles continued for years and then in the year
280 C.E., a general under the Jin dynasty from the north managed to defeat the south and west for a
short time. The Jin dynasty produced 25 sons who after his death began to battle each other for the
power to control the dynasty. One of the sons made a disastrous mistake when he asked Turkic

Many Mongolians were unhappy about the acceptance of the Chinese language and the
combination of the Mongolian language. In addition to the unrest in the north, thousands of
wealthy educated Chinese families fled south. This migration to southern China made this region a
cultural mecca. Southern China did not experience the same fate as northern China but they did
have power struggles during the Age of Disunity. The years 220 589 C.E. was known as the Age
of Disunity in which Nomads were constantly invading China. In the midst of all the turmoil,
Buddhism spread throughout China. During the Hans dynasty, Confucianism was the philosophy.
After the fall of the Hans dynasty and during the Age of Disunity, the people began to gravitate
toward Buddhism. Buddhism s promise of inner peace and relief from life s burdens were an
interest to the people of China. In the year 399, Faxian a Chinese Buddhist monk made a
pilgrimage to India and returned to China in 414. He brought with him Indian Buddhist texts, which
he transcribed into Chinese. By 517 Buddhism became the official religion of southern China. The
Sui, Tang and Song dynasties prevailed in China during the years 589 1279. The years 589 to 618

Abstract
Universal Design is all around us, not just in some of the products that we use but also in
education. According to one article Universal design in education is a framework of instruction that
aims to be inclusive of different learning preferences and learners (Black, D. R., Weinberg, L. A.,
Brodwin, M. G, 2015). There are so many different approaches that a teacher can use in the
classroom involving universal design. In the use of universal design there is also a wide range of
practices that I as a special education teacher can use in the classroom. Universal Design in

In the article Universal Design for Early Childhood Education: Ensuring Access and Equity for
All it states that children are not defined by their disability, but rather, their disability represents
a characteristic, one mere facet of who they are and how they interact with the world (Darragh,
J. 2007). As a special education teacher I need to be open to new ideas on how to teach my
students. I will have students with a wide range of disabilities from mild to moderate to severe.
Incorporating universal design in my lessons and within my classroom is just one practice that
will help my students. Universal design opens up the doors to so many new ideas that can be
used in the classroom to help adapt lessons for my students. As a special education teacher I
realize that not every student will learn the same way, each of my students will have their own
way of learning some might pick things up quickly while others might take some time. In my
classroom I can use the SmartBoard to help in many different types of lessons from math through
science and even English. My students can use the computer to play fun and instructional games
that can help with speech and language and even math. In conclusion, Universal design has opened
up so many different doors for teachers in and outside of the classroom. From the use of adaptive
technology to lesson planning there is so

The New Frontier Of State University
INTRODUCTION
Computers have been around for quite a while but the introduction of the Internet opened a new
frontier for the world allowing people to communicate around the world and find information
quickly. Currently, many businesses and schools have their own computer infrastructures that they
have created and manage themselves. Many people buy software either online or at the store and
download it onto their computer, which can sometimes take hours. Storage on these computers are
limited to the physical amount that was bought and to increase this, you have to connect external
hard drives or replace the hard drive with a bigger one. Universities spend much on IT management
for its computer infrastructure and can be costly due to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Not only is this more efficient, but it allows you to work from almost anywhere and with
practically any device. In a time where everyone has a phone, tablet, or computer in conjunction
with the Internet, its ideal. It s the reason that businesses and universities are making the switch
over to the cloud. OSU is also beginning to make the step towards the cloud.
CLOUD COMPUTING
What is the Cloud Computing?
The cloud is another word for the Internet. Traditionally, you have a computer with a hard drive
where you save all your data and run programs from that computer (Griffith). With the cloud, you
are saving files and using programs from the Internet, which allows you to use any computer with
Internet access. The key advantage of cloud computing is scalability. This means that it adapts to
your needs and workload. The main difference is when it comes to resources like software
applications, storage space, etc., which have fixed capacities and upfront costs. Cloud computing
allows you to only pay for what you need, avoiding unused capacities.
Cloud computing is the complete opposite of using your hard drive. Local storage means running
applications and programs from your hard drive in your computer. Everything you need is
physically close to you, which means accessing your data is fast and easy, for that

Trench Warfare In The Trenches Essay
Soldiers within the trenches would illustrate their despair by singing, We re here because we re
here, we re here because we re here, we re here because we re here, we re here because we re here.
World War 1 was ignited and many perceived it would be quick and easy. However, as trenches
were dug, stalemate developed. The growing development of trench warfarewas evident in the
Western Front. As it revolutionized, the war slowed down, causing little victory, but high casualties
within the Allies fighting in the Western Front Britain, France, and the United States as well as the
Central Powers, consisting of Germany and Austria Hungary. During World War 1, as trench

Thus, trenches began to connect, so a soldier could be supplied with food, mail from their family,
ammunition, and fresh troops. Later, trenches contained first aid stations, and some even small
kitchens. Most importantly, there were machine gun stations that would aid a soldier under attack,
and dugouts that would sustain a large amount of troops during an assault. Most soldiers could
spend up to two weeks in a trench at a time if they lived through it. First, they would spend time in
the front line trench, fighting the enemy. Then, they would progress to the support trenches, and
later rest. Even if the soldiers were not fighting, they were put to repair the trenches, move
supplies, clean weapons, and undergo inspection or guard duty. Trenches had to be repaired
constantly due to bombardment from the enemy or rain. In fact, daily life within the trenches was
foreseeable, Thirty minutes before sunrise, troops had to stand to, ready to repel any attack. If no
attack was forthcoming that day, the day s routine consisted of breakfast followed by inspection,
sentry duty, restoration of the trenches, care of personal items, or whiling away the time as best
they could. At last, trench warfare developed to a point where soldiers had to constantly remain
within them and develop a

Difference Between Coleridge And William Wordsworth
William Wordsworth was a British poet, credited with ushering in the English Romantic
Movement with the publication of Lyrical Ballad in collaboration with Samuel Taylor Coleridge.
The Biographical Perspective of William Wordsworth can be presented multiply ways such as
childhood experience, education, marriage, friendship, travels, career, and publication. Childhood
experience for William was not particularly a happy one. His mom passed on when he was eight
not having the best relationship with her. His dad filled in as an attorney to the Earl of Lowther, a
famously degenerate man who had earned the neighborhood description as wicked Jimmy. When
John Wordsworth passed on in 1783, leaving thirteen year old William and his four sibling... Show

So you want to know about Lincoln s assassination. Lincoln was assassinated by a man named
John Wilkes Booth. He was killed at a play he was attending with his wife. The theater was Ford s
theater. The assassination was justified because Lincoln was unpopular among people, he wasn t

assassinationwas not justified because a lot of people liked Lincoln so they wouldn t have reason to

wanted slaves to serve under them and make profit off of them. They also didn t black people so

Meet the Simpsons
Over time, the definition of what exactly quot;family quot; means has changed with time. Usually,
what constitutes making up a family is relative to a specific culture, but as always, there are
exceptions to the rule. Ever since the golden age of television had sprung upon American culture,
television has tried to mimic the quot;ideal quot; American family through it s programming. Even
as early as the 1950 s, television producers made programming that would represent what exactly
the ideal American family was.

Also according to the consensus, the average married couple has approximately 2.6 children per
household (U.S.
Consensus, Household Characteristics p.1). Since there cannot be six tenths of a child, I will round
up to three children, in which the Simpson family has: Bart, Lisa and Maggie. Also, the average
American is a blue collar worker. The father figure, Homer, meets this factor with his job at the
nuclear power plant within his hometown of Springfield. So according to the statistics, the Simpson
family could be considered an average American family.
In the next part of the essay, I will look at each individual character of the Simpson family, and
try to relate how that individual could be considered a typical American. I attempt to avoid using
stereotypes, but nothing is full proof. I will look at some of the character s traits and try to relate
how that is a parody of an American.
First, I will begin with discussing the character of Homer Simpson. As you might know, Homer is
the father figure of the household, whose responsibilities include financially supporting the
household, since he is the household s primary source of income. He has his flaws like any
person would, but somehow he and his family tend to work it out. Some of his mishaps are very
similar to those that most of us have had to face. For example, he leaves the keys in his door to the
house quite often (Hall, quot;The

The Benefits of Omega-3 Fatty Acids
Omega 3 Fatty Acids Fatty Acids have a linked chain of carbon atoms. These atoms can be
unsaturated or saturated. Saturated means that there is only a single bond in carbon atoms, which
leaves hydrogen to have the rest of them. Unsaturated means that there has to be at least once
carbon atom that needs to have a double bond. In the case of Omega 3 Fatty Acids, Essential Fatty
acids are polyunsaturated. Polyunsaturated fat is fat that has a lot of double bonds in between
carbon atoms. They have to contain at least two double bonds. A double bond is when there are
two atoms that share two electrons. In all omega 3 fatty acids, the first double bond is located
between the third and fourth carbon atom counting from the methyl end of the fatty acid(n 3)
(Higdon). There is a double bond that is the first on the carbon chain in between the third and
forth chain. These double bonds are on a carbon chains which are in all omega 3 fatty acids.
Another example of another fatty acid is omega 9. Omega 9 has its first double bond in between
the ninth and tenth carbon atom. Omega 3 fatty acids are very good for a person to have. There
are different types of omega 3 fatty acids that we as humans can put into our diet. The two major
types of omega 3 fatty acids are alpha linolenic acid (ALA) and the other is eicosapentaenoic acid
(EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Alpha linolenic acids are found in plants. ALA is known
for being a short chain omega 3 acid, unlike EPA and

Hip Hop Masculinity
Connecting Masculinity to Hip Hop as an entire movement Hip Hop originated in the 1970 s, and
during that period the genre was known as a means through which African Americans could speak
their minds and state their opinions and concerns about important issues in their communities and
society. However hip hop has immensely changed since its creation to what it is now, as a result
of its profit oriented nature. Even though a few aspects of the original old school hip hop are still
recognized and practiced in today s mainstream rap, the genre as a whole has come to be known
for revolving around the common themes of violence, drug use, promiscuity, fashion, and
materialism. In reality, today s mainstream hip hop is based on the beliefs of what... Show more

Female MC s accept a variety of different fashion trends and masculine mannerisms in hip hop,
whether it s the hyper sexuality in their lyrics or music videos or they are taking on masculine
personas. Female MC s like Da Brat are known for their more masculine appearances. Typically,
other female MC s often take the other route. The success rate of music in the hip hop industry
has been proven to tie into hyper sexualized images and female MC s are forced to comply with
the sexism of the genre. These women do this by referring to themselves and other women as
bitches , and hoes along with explicitly talking about sexual acts and fantasies. However, most
of these sexual fantasies are in the male s perspective. Female MC s also give in to the
superficial beliefs of the genre. For example, rapper Nicki Minaj collaborated with Drake in the
song Up all Night, where she bragged, I make the kind of money that make a broke bitch
bitter...Which bitch you know made a million off a mixtape? That was just a keepsake. Bought the

populations and how this can impact your professional clinical practice
The readings for this week s assignment provides evidence that disparities persist in medical care
for a number of health conditions and services in the diverse populations, which is impacted by
their knowledge base. According to the article Strategies for Health Education in North American

The focus in the clinical practice would be to reduce health care disparities and address the barriers
that affect the individual s health care outcomes. The most important strategy to promote health
education is to be culturally sensitive, which includes as a clinician to have knowledge with social
cultural, religious, healthcare issues, and remove barriers that impede the individual s heath care
(Zou and Parry 2012). Another strategy to facilitate health education is to remove language barriers.
To improve health education with language barriers effectively would be to use a medically trained
translator and not a family member. A clinician has to remind themselves that they are there for the
patient and their needs. Using a medically trained translator, a clinician can be confident that the
patient is receiving all of the information, able to ask and answer questions, and can feel confident
that the patient understands all the health information and what would need to be addressed with
further education. Trust is another health education barrier. Many African Americans are reluctant
to participate in health promotion programs due to mistrust in the health care community (Butler
Ajibade, Booth, and Burwell 2012). As a clinician, to establish trust is an extremely important
element to successfully promote health education in the African American community. To remove
the trust barrier

For the most part, the straight forward thesis used multiple successful techniques for it s support.
One of these tactics being Spurlock s combination of different filming styles. He utilizes a large
range of film techniques from factual, statistical data to interactive, cartoon style animations and
pop culture soundtracks. Spurlock also often interviews a multitude of different people, films his
own home video style shots from in his car or apartment, and even show clips of an open

This film does an exceptional job at indicating that much of these unhealthy options are coming
from increased advertising. Though to some it may seem as though Spurlock is only targeting

Leadership development at Novartis
Case example China
Frank Waltmann Head of Learning Novartis is represented in 140 countries and has 91,000
employees with headquarters in Basel, Switzerland. In 2005, the company generated US$32.2
billion sales and a US$6.1 billion net income. Currently, Novartis has 2,300 employees in China,
which represents a very fast employee expansion. The Chinese pharmaceutical market represents
unique challenges. First, China is one of the top ten and fastest growing pharma markets. China s
pharmaceutical market is expected to continue to grow at double digit growth rates to 2010. It is
transitioning from state control, and the healthcare environment is changing dramatically. There is

China produced 3.1 million university graduates in 2005 compared to 1.3 million in the USA.
The proportion of 18 22year olds attending Chinese universities last year was 15 per cent
compared to 7 per cent in 1995. Stronger economic growth has been outstripped by the growth in
higher education. It is generally expected that competition for entry level white collar jobs will
become much fiercer. Unfortunately, fewer than 10 per cent of graduates in China have the skills
to work for a foreign company and there are continuing, not to say growing, shortages of both mid
level and senior level managers. In the past, many multinationals relied on expatriate managers to
oversee their China operations. The current trends show an increased localisation of staff. Forty per
cent of foreign companies have trouble filling mid level and high level positions in China. Adding
to the problem for MNCs has been the entrance of local Chinese firms to the market, often referred
to as the ``reverse brain drain . In ten years, China will need 75,000 managers with international
experience. Currently, it has only about 5,000 with such talent. The management talent in China is
mainly first generation. The challenge of attracting and especially retaining management talent in
China is rising. The average tenure of mid and high level executives in China is eight to 12 months.

Origin Of Pug Colors
Pugs originated in 400 B.C in China. In China at around 700 B.C these dogs were only bred and
owned by the emperors. It is believed that there was an ancient Chinese law that prevented
anyone other than an emperor to own the breed. A person could only own a pug if it were a gift
from an emperor, illegal ownership of a pug was punishable by death. The name pug came about
when some people found a similarity between the pug s facial expression to that of a marmoset
monkey called Pug in the 1700 s. This breed is commonly seen in fawn or black color, but, the
origin of the black and silver pug colors is not known. It is suspected that the black color was
considered a birth defect, therefore many of those unfortunate pugs were put to death at

Robert Russa Moton High School
In Virginia, it was very hard for a black student to receive a diploma because of the lack of
education they received in their schools. Unless they attended a private school, which black
children seldom did, they did not receive the same education as white students. Robert Russa
Moton High School was one of the first and only schools for blacks in Prince Edward County
(Heinemann). This school was built in 1939 to hold 180 students, and it lacked in many common
things one may find at a white high school, like a gymnasium, cafeteria, science labs, and sports
fields (Heinemann). About ten years later, because the number of students grew from 180 to 400,
they built small buildings made of plywood and tarpaper instead of building a new school.... Show

Barbara Johns, a junior at Morton High, was very unhappy with the condition of the school. She
was the niece of Vernon Johns, a pastor and outspoken civil rights activist (June Friesen). On
April 23, 1951, the principle of Morton High, M. Boyd Jones, was lured off campus by a call
saying students from Moton were hanging around the bus station instead of being at school. This
was the perfect opportunity for Johns to take action and put her idea of going on strike into
action. Johns called an assembly where she explained to the student body what was wrong with
the condition of their school and the classmates support overwhelmed her. For the rest of the day,
the students layered the school inside and out with signs saying things like, We want a new school
or none at all or Down with the tar paper shacks (Heinemann). The next day Johns as well as a
couple other students went to the Farmville Courthouse where superintendent T.J. Mcllwaine told
them nothing would happen if they did not return to class. The students however did not return to
class until May 7. Spottswood Robinson III and Oliver W. Hill, lawyers from the NAACP, were
reluctant to come to Prince Edward County at first when they got a call about the student lead strike
at Morton High. When the lawyers met with the committee of students, they realized how
determined to make a difference these kids were and they could not refuse. However, after taking

Electronic Health Records And Health Information Technology
In the last decade of USA medical history there have been little to no change in medical errors in
regards to improvement of care. Meaningful Use, Electronic Health Records and Health Information
Technology are practices and programs that can be possible solutions for this issue. The goals of
meaningful use include improving quality, safety, efficiency, and to reduce health disparities,
improvecare coordination and ensure adequate privacy and security of personal health information
(Hoyt,2014). With meaningful use, there are three stages: stage one begins the process of
capturing date and sharing the information. Stage two is advancing the data processing and sharing
and building off of the first stage. Stage three is the examination of the outcomes. Meaningful Use
is defined under the Center of Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) and is essentially an incentive
program through the government to create a health system that is run electronically and provides
higher quality of care through technology. Since the goal is to create safer and higher quality
through HIT by providing an incentive for EP s to further develop their use of the technology
there must be a time line in place in order to know whether the Ep s hitting the requirements. This
year, 2014, is originally a major year for Meaningful Use however, with changes in the time line,
the cost of HIT, and the increasing of objectives can lead to major complications in the initial
timeline created.

Comparison Of Abraham Ibn Ezra And Rashi
Rabbi Abraham Ibn Ezra was born in Toledo in around 1092. He spent the early part of his life in
Cordoba, but he ultimately left his home and spent the remainder of his years wandering
throughout Europe. He was an extremely intelligent man, and he excelled in poetry, philosophy,
math, and astronomy, in addition to many other subjects. Rabbi Shlomo ben Isaac, otherwise
known as Rashi, was born in 1040 and died in 1105. He worked as a vintner in Northern France.
(Satlow, p. 213 214). Ibn Ezra and Rashi have many similarities and differences that mainly result
from their cultural settings. These can be seen through their opinions of the milk and meat law, and
also through their commentaries on the end of Deuteronomy. The phrase you shall not... Show more

The end of Deuteronomy states And Moses, the servant of the Lord, died there, in the land of
Moab, by the mouth of the lord. And he buried him in the valley, in the land of Moab, opposite
Beth Pe or. And no person knows the place of his burial, unto this day (Deuteronomy 34: 5 8). A
similarity between the two rabbis is instantly apparent because they both turn to the same text,
Deuteronomy, and attempt to interpret it. It is believed that Moses wrote down everything for
God in the bible, but this idea does not truly make sense. How could Moses be writing about the
events that surrounded his own death? Neither rabbi outright states that the text is wrong. Instead,
both Rashi and Ibn Ezra attempt to explain this complex idea, just in different ways. Ibn Ezra says
And if you understand, then you will recognize the truth. And he who understands will keep silent
(Friedman, p. 19). This quote demonstrates that Ibn Ezra realized that it did not logically make
sense that Moses could have written this specific part of Deuteronomy, but he chose to ignore it
instead of trying to come up with an explanation. Rashi s thoughts on Deuteronomy 34 differed
from Ibn Ezra s. Rashi believed that Moses did actually write the text because God instructed him
to, but when he realized what he was writing tears formed in his eyes. (Rosenblum Personal

Tactical Training For Medical Responders
Today s society has seen an increase of unpredictable violent events that require an increasing
need for tactical medical responders. While some if not all departments in the United States have
a form of Tactical Emergency Medical Support, in the present time it almost seems as if there is a
growing need for awareness, education, and personnel to have a tactical mindset. Tactical
Emergency Medical Support is an out of hospital EMS system that focuses on medical support for

The Fight For Contraceptives By Margaret Sanger
Margaret Sanger, a New York and an active feminist, led the fight for contraceptives, which are
methods or devices to prevent pregnancy. Sanger, whose mother at a young age because she had
birthed eleven children, helped shape her into a very individualistic and assertive woman. She
was a part of the Socialist party, while studying to be a nurse, and starting a family of her own. In
1912, she began to work in the slums with the poor immigrant women who lived there. Her
experience in the slums with these women, helped shaped her strong opinion on why women
should be in control of childbearing. This was not the only thing that shaped it, but helped further
her outlook after she was a witness to her own mother s death. Her final call to action though was
the ghastly stories of self induced abortions and the tales of more than horrific pregnancies.
Sanger s movement to push for birth control caused her to be closely watched by the law
enforcement. She repeatedly sent informative brochures about contraceptives out to the public and
opened a birth control clinic in Brooklyn; it impudently went against Comstock Act and several
other laws. In 1920 Sangers methods became less extensive and that same year she founded the
American Birth Control League, now known as Planned Parenthood. This was one of the biggest
milestones in her career as a feminist. In 1925 she gave her memorable speech The Children s Era
at the first birth control conference. When she delivered the speech she

Medical Testing On Animal Testing
Who should be the first to suffer, humans or rodents? Medical testing on animals involves
experimentation to observe variables that affect behavior or the biological system under review.
Scientists, after studying side effects of a new drug using animals, usually test it next on human
volunteers to confirm how the drug will interact with human physiology. Experimental research
includes different fields and is usually conducted by universities, medical schools, and
pharmaceutical companies. The majority of animals used for research are rats, mice, hamsters, and
gerbils. Researchers depend on animal test results to achieve medical advances. Experiments using
animals have played a crucial role in the development of modern medical treatments. They allow
humans to be the priority in the medical field and allow fewer people to suffer and die by
improving the entire medical system.
We should not stop using animals in medical experiments. Otherwise, people would die and suffer
under such a policy. Historically, almost all new drugs that are introduced each year after much
animal testing. Even though the number of animal lives expended is a huge cost, the benefits that
each drug brings confirm that cost. New drugs approved for medical use have the potential to
relieve human pain and suffering not only for current patients, but also for future generations.
First of all, animals rights are less important than human rights. We have the right to use animals to
improve the medical

Packing The Endocnabinoid System
The overall goal of my research is to better understand the roles that fatty acid binding proteins
(FABPs), specifically epidermal FABP (FAPB5) and brain FABP (FABP7), play within regulating
the endocannabinoid system and to understand the role of FABP in addiction. The endocannabinoid
system is linked with the rewarding effects of abused drugs. Central to the endocannabinoid system
is the cannabinoid type 1 receptor (CB1R), which is expressed ubiquitously throughout the brain.
Within the brain reward circuit, activation of CB1Rs regulates the strength and plasticity of
glutamate and GABA synapses. Specifically, dopaminergic projections from the ventral tegmental

Hill and colleagues (20??) have demonstrated that endocannabinoids are important to regulating the
activation and fast feedback mechanism of the HPA axis in the basolateral amygdala. Therefore
corticosterone was also examined by sandwich enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA),
under both basal conditions and while the animal was stressed. The results of the study were unlike
FAAH inhibition. Inhibition of FABP5 and 7 decreased both the preference and consumption of
ethanol in mice. Furthermore, the inhibition of FABP5 and 7 increase the corticosterone response.
These results suggest that the inhibition of FABP5 and 7 may be hindering AEA ability to interact
with CB1Rs, despite the elevated levels of the neurotransmitter. Following this initial study, our
laboratory examined consumption behavior in mice that have a genetic knockout of the FABP5
gene. Similarly, both male and females underwent a limited access two bottle choice paradigm. The
genetically knocked out (KO) animals were compared to wildtype. As originally hypothesized, the
genetically modified animals consumed significantly more ethanol compared to wildtype animals.
Conversely, following 30 minutes restrain stress, the FABP5 KO animals had a reduced
corticosterone response compare to the wildtype animals. These results contradicted our previous
study, using the pharmacological inhibition of

How To Become A Truck Driver Essay
Get Your CDL And See America
If you re looking for a way to travel the United States and keep working too, then you may want
to think about becoming a truck driver. Depending on the job you get, you could travel all over
your state or all across the country. It s a great way to see the landscape of America from your
window as you roll along the interstate system. Here are a few things you should know.
State Requirements Vary
Each state has its own requirements as far as educational hours and testing for a truck driver s
license goes. However, they must all comply with the federal mandate that you obtain a CDL,
which is a commercial driver s license. There are two types: CDL A and CDL B. If you want to
drive a tractor trailer, you ll test for the CDL A license as that is what you need to drive a truck.
The CDL B is needed if you want to drive a smaller load, such as a local furniture delivery truck or
auto hauler. The first step on a new career as a truck driver is to visit your local DMV to find out the
requirements for licensing in your state. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The safest way to do that is in a controlled environment in truck driving school. The school has
private grounds where you can practice parking and backing up the truck in a stress free
environment without other traffic around. Once you master the basic skills of truck driving, your
education continues on the open road where you learn how to handle a big truck in a variety of
situations.
If you already know how to handle a truck, it may still be worth it to get CDL training so you can
pass the DMV test. You ll need to pass a written test and a skills test just like you did for your
regular driver s license. CDL school prepares you for the test so you have a good chance to pass it
on your first attempt and don t waste time you could be

Landlord / Tenant Relationship

BUS 311: Landlord / Tenant Relationship Understanding landlord and tenant rights and
responsibilities is critical for a successful relationship between two parties, whether in a residential
or commercial environment. Both the landlord and the tenant have specific rights and also
specific responsibilities. To understand the landlord tenant relationship one must first understand
the roles of each party and understand how the relationship is defined. The landlord, or lessor, is
the owner of real property who willingly gives up his right to possess the property in exchange for
a monetary gain. The tenant, or lessee, agrees to pay the landlord for use of the ... Show more

During this inspection the landlord discovered illegal drugs and notified the police. The police
arrested Johnny Sanchez for illegal possession of a controlled substance and he was sentenced
to seven tears in prison and was forced to pay monetary fines. In defending himself, the former
tenant claimed that the landlord did not have the right to allow the police into the house. He
claimed it was still in his possession and since no search warrant was issued all evidence was
obtained illegally. The judge threw out this defense. Since Sanchez had abandoned the property
and quit paying rent, the landlord had the right to regain possession of the property. The landlord
exercised his right to take his property back and did not need the former tenant s approval to grant
access to the police. The evidence was allowed in the trial and Mr. Sanchez was convicted (2010
WL 4237307). As stated above, the landlord has the responsibility to provide quiet enjoyment to the
tenant, and the tenant has the right to quiet enjoyment. This enjoyment includes the use of the
premises without unreasonable interference from the landlord or third parties (Liuzzo and Bonnice,
page 349). An example of this would be the case of Classens vs. Aiello in the state of
Massachusetts. In this case the tenant, John Classens, claims that the landlord failed to provide him
with his right to quiet enjoyment. In the case, the tenant claims that the landlord, who was

Sttylistic Devices In Tim I Carried By Tim OBrien
One stylistic device that O Brien uses is repetition. O Brien frequently repeats occasions, usually
adding additional detail with each repeat. One example of this is the moment of when Kiowa
died. He retold this story five times, this is the center of most of the novel s action and the
motivation for most of the characters development. The repetition is a stylistic device O Brien
adds to stretch the truth of a story by adding and subtracting detail. The effect of this for a reader
is a feeling that shows O Brien s obsession with the stories he tells, because they always run
through his memories. His repetitions expose the reader to no possibility of change to the
soldiers and what he sees and experiences on a daily basis. This also gives the reader a sense of
confidence with the soldiers and their hellish moments in Vietnam.Tim O Brien uses repetition so
we remember and understand what the soldiers have done. In warfare it is very easy to talk about
everybody as a group. Which means that repetition of names, phrases, and the things they carry
makes them individuals. O Brien frequently uses repetition to emphasize the pain of the men.
They carried is repeated over and over again showing the hardships of the soldiers. They carried
their fear, love, shame, and guilt on top of the intense weight of their gear. The memories that the
soldiers carry, the emotional pain and weight, can be far more burdensome than the physical items
the men carry. Tim O Brien also keeps using

question of which side actually drew their guns first is still debated today, but it s believed that

Doc Holliday killed Tom McLaury with a blast from his double barreled shotgun. Wyatt Earpshot
Frank McLaury in the stomach, and the wounded man staggered out into the street but managed to
pull his gun and return fire. Meanwhile, Ike Clanton and Billy Claiborne ran for their lives. The
wounded Frank McLaury and Billy Clanton both managed to get off several shots before
collapsing, and Virgil, Morgan, and Doc were all hit. The sherrif of tombstone watched the gun
fight and charged Wyatt Earp with murder then a month later the charge was taken off. But, despite

The Chicano population was so large in numbers that they could no longer be ignored in the cities. They had profoundly affected the economy, politics, fashion, and music in the 60s. Effects Of Second Hand Vehicles In The Zimbabwean Economy INTRODUCTION The Zimbabwean economy is nose diving and experiencing huge cash shortages of the currency in circulation ,this is being seen as the banks are now rationing the payments, giving each individual about $100 per day and sometimes less or no cash , also money is now not easily accessible from mobile bankers like eco cash, telecash and one wallet, this is being caused by the imports which are outweighing the exports and among these imports there is the importation of second hand cars which is seen to have dominated the imports of Zimbabwe. In 2013 between January and November the Zimbabweans imported about 206 519 cars worth over $606 million (ZIMSTATS,The Herald 23 April 2014).Thus the importation of second hand vehicles is worsening the trade deficit that is already unfavorable as in 2013 the budget deficit stood at $3billion(ZIMSTAT). Willowvale Mazda Motor Industry s production slumped from 18 000 vehicles per year in 1997 to below 4 000 vehicles and stopped producing in 2012 (Zimbabwe Independent 22 May 2015),this was mainly due to the importation of second hand vehicles by the Zimbabweans as they were less costly and complied with their budgets, the other players such as Quest motors and Croco motors in the automobile sector are being affected in the same manner leading to unemployment due to low capacity utilization in these companies as the demand new vehicles was estimated to be 25 000(Zimbabwe Independent 22 May 2015). • 4. Stanley s Misrepresentation Act 1967 In this essay, we research thoroughly about Stanley s case. The Misrepresentation Act 1967 can be applied here since Shirley misrepresented the fact that publishers wouldn t want to publish Stanley s book since she clearly said that no publisher want to publish his book. The relevant legal laws that we ve looked upon are mere representation, distortion of a positive statement and fraudulent misrepresentation. After researching through the legal framework that s applied to this case, we support the plaintiff and hence, Stanley should sue Shirley because she misrepresented the fact that Stanley had written a great book. However, Stanley is also at fault here since he didn t question her regarding why she wanted the manuscript she clearly said no publisher would be interested in. He should have asked why she wanted the book in the first place. The remedies that s available for Stanley is rescission and damages in contract but once he files a case in the court, he ll opt for damages in contract because that s the most suitable remedy for Stanley since he ll get money back for the damages Shirley had caused him.... My Core Values My Core Values Core values are a person or an organization s fundamental beliefs, these principles prescribe behavior along with helping people understand the difference between right and wrong, values are what motivate you in life. They are what guide you along the path of fulfilment, so essentially your values are the foundation of who you are (C.Worsley). These values are important to have because they are what shape you, they make every person unique. Having a spirit of adventure, perseverance, and having patience are only some of my core values. Knowing what you cherish is very important and is something many people should revise. Being adventurous is how you start to understand who you really are. Many people believe it is dangerous to travel, not worth it. But I believe, the world is dangerous. There are shootings everyday but getting out there and risking it is just living. Being adventurous shows you how others have to live, what so many people deal with every day. Or what so many people get to see every day, the beautiful yet cruel world we live in. There is a purpose for everything here, it is meant to be seen. We are not here to work everyday and then go home to rest and do it all over again, we were made to make a difference and to understand the world. Mountains were made to climb, oceans were made to be seen, and landmarks were too, in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. • 15. The Benefits of Omega-3 Fatty Acids Omega 3 Fatty Acids Fatty Acids have a linked chain of carbon atoms. These atoms can be unsaturated or saturated. Saturated means that there is only a single bond in carbon atoms, which leaves hydrogen to have the rest of them. Unsaturated means that there has to be at least once carbon atom that needs to have a double bond. In the case of Omega 3 Fatty Acids, Essential Fatty acids are polyunsaturated. Polyunsaturated fat is fat that has a lot of double bonds in between carbon atoms. They have to contain at least two double bonds. A double bond is when there are two atoms that share two electrons. In all omega 3 fatty acids, the first double bond is located between the third and fourth carbon atom counting from the methyl end of the fatty acid(n 3) (Higdon). There is a double bond that is the first on the carbon chain in between the third and forth chain. These double bonds are on a carbon chains which are in all omega 3 fatty acids. For the rest of the day, the students layered the school inside and out with signs saying things like, We want a new school or none at all or Down with the tar paper shacks (Heinemann). The next day Johns as well as a couple other students went to the Farmville Courthouse where superintendent T.J. Mcllwaine told them nothing would happen if they did not return to class. The students however did not return to class until May 7. Spottswood Robinson III and Oliver W. Hill, lawyers from the NAACP, were reluctant to come to Prince Edward County at first when they got a call about the student lead strike at Morton High. When the lawyers met with the committee of students, they realized how determined to make a difference these kids were and they could not refuse. However, after taking their case, Robinson and ... • 24. Electronic Health Records And Health Information Technology In the last decade of USA medical history there have been little to no change in medical errors in regards to improvement of care. Meaningful Use, Electronic Health Records and Health Information Technology are practices and programs that can be possible solutions for this issue. The goals of meaningful use include improving quality, safety, efficiency, and to reduce health disparities, improvecare coordination and ensure adequate privacy and security of personal health information (Hoyt,2014). With meaningful use, there are three stages: stage one begins the process of capturing date and sharing the information. Stage two is advancing the data processing and sharing and building off of the first stage. Stage three is the examination of the outcomes. Meaningful Use is defined under the Center of Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) and is essentially an incentive program through the government to create a health system that is run electronically and provides higher quality of care through technology. Since the goal is to create safer and higher quality through HIT by providing an incentive for EP s to further develop their use of the technology there must be a time line in place in order to know whether the Ep s hitting the requirements. This year, 2014, is originally a major year for Meaningful Use however, with changes in the time line, the cost of HIT, and the increasing of objectives can lead to major complications in the initial timeline created. • 25. Comparison Of Abraham Ibn Ezra And Rashi Rabbi Abraham Ibn Ezra was born in Toledo in around 1092. He spent the early part of his life in Cordoba, but he ultimately left his home and spent the remainder of his years wandering throughout Europe. He was an extremely intelligent man, and he excelled in poetry, philosophy, math, and astronomy, in addition to many other subjects. Rabbi Shlomo ben Isaac, otherwise known as Rashi, was born in 1040 and died in 1105. He worked as a vintner in Northern France. (Satlow, p. 213 214). Ibn Ezra and Rashi have many similarities and differences that mainly result from their cultural settings. These can be seen through their opinions of the milk and meat law, and also through their commentaries on the end of Deuteronomy. The phrase you shall not... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The end of Deuteronomy states And Moses, the servant of the Lord, died there, in the land of Moab, by the mouth of the lord. And he buried him in the valley, in the land of Moab, opposite Beth Pe or. And no person knows the place of his burial, unto this day (Deuteronomy 34: 5 8). A similarity between the two rabbis is instantly apparent because they both turn to the same text, Deuteronomy, and attempt to interpret it. It is believed that Moses wrote down everything for God in the bible, but this idea does not truly make sense. How could Moses be writing about the events that surrounded his own death? Neither rabbi outright states that the text is wrong. Instead, both Rashi and Ibn Ezra attempt to explain this complex idea, just in different ways. Ibn Ezra says And if you understand, then you will recognize the truth. And he who understands will keep silent (Friedman, p. 19). This quote demonstrates that Ibn Ezra realized that it did not logically make sense that Moses could have written this specific part of Deuteronomy, but he chose to ignore it instead of trying to come up with an explanation. Rashi s thoughts on Deuteronomy 34 differed from Ibn Ezra s. Rashi believed that Moses did actually write the text because God instructed him to, but when he realized what he was writing tears formed in his eyes. (Rosenblum Personal ... While some if not all departments in the United States have a form of Tactical Emergency Medical Support, in the present time it almost seems as if there is a growing need for awareness, education, and personnel to have a tactical mindset. • 27. The Fight For Contraceptives By Margaret Sanger Margaret Sanger, a New York and an active feminist, led the fight for contraceptives, which are methods or devices to prevent pregnancy. Sanger, whose mother at a young age because she had birthed eleven children, helped shape her into a very individualistic and assertive woman. She was a part of the Socialist party, while studying to be a nurse, and starting a family of her own. In 1912, she began to work in the slums with the poor immigrant women who lived there. Her experience in the slums with these women, helped shaped her strong opinion on why women should be in control of childbearing. This was not the only thing that shaped it, but helped further her outlook after she was a witness to her own mother s death. Her final call to action though was the ghastly stories of self induced abortions and the tales of more than horrific pregnancies. Sanger s movement to push for birth control caused her to be closely watched by the law enforcement. She repeatedly sent informative brochures about contraceptives out to the public and opened a birth control clinic in Brooklyn; it impudently went against Comstock Act and several other laws. In 1920 Sangers methods became less extensive and that same year she founded the American Birth Control League, now known as Planned Parenthood. This was one of the biggest milestones in her career as a feminist. In 1925 she gave her memorable speech The Children s Era at the first birth control conference. • 28. Medical Testing On Animal Testing Who should be the first to suffer, humans or rodents? Medical testing on animals involves experimentation to observe variables that affect behavior or the biological system under review. Scientists, after studying side effects of a new drug using animals, usually test it next on human volunteers to confirm how the drug will interact with human physiology. Experimental research includes different fields and is usually conducted by universities, medical schools, and pharmaceutical companies. The majority of animals used for research are rats, mice, hamsters, and gerbils. Researchers depend on animal test results to achieve medical advances. Experiments using animals have played a crucial role in the development of modern medical treatments. They allow humans to be the priority in the medical field and allow fewer people to suffer and die by improving the entire medical system. We should not stop using animals in medical experiments. Otherwise, people would die and suffer under such a policy. Historically, almost all new drugs that are introduced each year after much animal testing. Even though the number of animal lives expended is a huge cost, the benefits that each drug brings confirm that cost. The endocannabinoid system is linked with the rewarding effects of abused drugs. Central to the endocannabinoid system is the cannabinoid type 1 receptor (CB1R), which is expressed ubiquitously throughout the brain. Within the brain reward circuit, activation of CB1Rs regulates the strength and plasticity of glutamate and GABA synapses. • 39. Sttylistic Devices In Tim I Carried By Tim OBrien One stylistic device that O Brien uses is repetition. O Brien frequently repeats occasions, usually adding additional detail with each repeat. One example of this is the moment of when Kiowa died. He retold this story five times, this is the center of most of the novel s action and the motivation for most of the characters development. The repetition is a stylistic device O Brien adds to stretch the truth of a story by adding and subtracting detail. The effect of this for a reader is a feeling that shows O Brien s obsession with the stories he tells, because they always run through his memories. His repetitions expose the reader to no possibility of change to the soldiers and what he sees and experiences on a daily basis. This also gives the reader a sense of confidence with the soldiers and their hellish moments in Vietnam.Tim O Brien uses repetition so we remember and understand what the soldiers have done. In warfare it is very easy to talk about everybody as a group. Which means that repetition of names, phrases, and the things they carry makes them individuals. O Brien frequently uses repetition to emphasize the pain of the men. They carried is repeated over and over again showing the hardships of the soldiers.
