Similarities Between Western And Eastern Cultures
The term behavior refers one s acts dominated by ideology in response to certain situations. Behavior
derives from the long development of culture in which people are defined what is supposed to act
based on the identity given. In other words, one s behavior sometimes is the demonstration of one s
identity. Living in a multi culture world, people from various cultures may behave totally different
toward a situation or stimulus. Western and eastern cultures typically reflects the point of behavioral
differentiations among distinct cultures. The United States, as a superpower established in last
hundreds of years, possesses distinguishing features of western culture such as open and liberty.
Meanwhile, China is an eastern country with an ancient civilization stands for conservative culture.
Therefore, as represents of these two cultures, the United States and China are appropriate examples to
explore the behavioral differentiations, and the differences in behavior can be well demonstrated
through daily behaviors like classroom, driving and dining. Firstly, comparing the classroom
behaviors, the classroom behaviors between America and China are two extremes that Americans are
more active in class while Chinese tend to behave passively in class. Based on my college experience
in the United States, most professors here use PowerPoint as the major tool to give a lecture.
Generally, only a little stuff, which is the main points or ideas will be posted on the PowerPoint; and

Explain How The Second World War Helped The Us Economy
Ivan Martinez Tamayo April 25, 2017
History 17b Section 1414 Term Paper
How the Second World War Helped the US Economy
The Second World War had a significant impact on the United States Economy. Before the war, the
United States was in depression caused by the crash of the stock market in 1929 and other factors.
Those factors including the fall of the gold standard and the fall of many banks. Although the Second
World War was a very bloody war it helped the United States overcome many obstacles that came
with the depression. Obstacles that included poverty high, unemployment rate family violence and
mental health rose. The Second World War helped the depression by lowering unemployment, wartime
spending, increasing the gross ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1940 one year before the full involvement of the United States in the Second world war the gross
national product was at 8.6 percent. One year after in 1941 the gross national product jumped nearly
ten percent to 17.14 percent. The sudden jump was because of the involvement of the United States in
the Second World War. The GI bill was created to help solider from the Second World War transition
into civilian life. According to Suzanne Mettler education and training benefits were the most claimed
aspects of the G.I. bill. Education and training benefits were claimed by more than fifty one percent of

Rebirth In Siddhartha
Hesse describes a great psychological secret unintentional and spontaneous spiritual rebirth. The same
happened to the historic Buddha who was only able to experience enlightenment after he had given up
looking for it. Siddhartha is only able to find his new self when he is definitely willing to give up his
old one. Siddhartha s experience of a rebirth and his way of life after this experience is parallel to the
third stage of Hesse s preoccupation with India and its individual and creative way of experiencing
and thinking. Siddhartha, the historical Buddha and Hermann Hesse they all have finally found what
they were looking for. The first effect of this spiritual rebirth for Siddhartha is a universal love for all
beings, which is also a characteristic

Roman Empire
The Roman Empire was the post Republican period of the ancient Roman civilization, characterized
by government headed by emperors, and large territorial holdings around the Mediterranean Sea in
Europe, Africa, and Asia. The 500 year old republic which preceded it was severely destabilized in a
series of civil wars and political conflict, during which Julius Caesar was appointed as perpetual
dictator and then assassinated in 44 BC. Civil wars and executions continued, culminating in the
victory of Octavian, Caesar s adopted son, over Mark Antony and Cleopatra at the Battle of Actium in
31 BC and the annexation of Egypt. Octavian s power was now unassailable and in 27 BC the Roman
Senate formally granted him overarching power and the new ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

It was the largest empire of the Classical antiquity period, and one of the largest empires in world
history. At its height under Trajan, it covered 6.8 million square kilometers and held sway over some
70 million people, at that time, 21% of the world s entire population. The longevity and vast extent of
the Empire ensured the lasting influence of Latin and Greek language, culture, religion, inventions,
architecture, philosophy, law and forms of government on the Empire s descendants. Throughout the
European medieval period, attempts were even made to establish successors to the Roman Empire,
including the Crusader state, the Empire of Romania and the Holy Roman Empire. By means of
European expansionism through the Spanish, French, Portuguese, Dutch, Italian, German, British,
Belgian empires, Roman and Greek culture was spread on a worldwide scale, playing a significant
role in the development of the modern world.
History
Rome had begun expanding shortly after the founding of the Republic in the 6th century BC, though it
didn t expand outside Italy until the 3rd century BC. In a sense then, it was an empire long before it
had an Emperor. The Roman Republic was not a nation state in the modern sense, but a network of
towns left to rule themselves and provinces administered by military commanders. It was ruled, not by
Emperors, but by annually elected magistrates in conjunction with the Senate. For various reasons, the

The Road By Cormac Mccarthy
In Cormac McCarthy s The Road, the father presents to the reader three distinct characteristics that
shapes his personality through novel. When the man mentions of carrying the fire to his son, meaning
that his son carries the load of civilization, compassion, and sympathy, the father expresses multiple
times that he lives for his son, and only for his son. The world of The Road is a complete anarchy, and
the man displays extensive amounts of bravery while trying to face the struggles and hardships that is
presented to them. Whether the challenge is to be hiding from cannibals, or wandering into dangerous
abandon houses, the man always exhibits ample amounts of bravery. Even though the man s son is
born into the disheveled and chaotic world and experiences nothing else before, the boy s sense of
right and wrong came from his father. The man constantly influences his son by telling him that they
are the good and guys: Look at me, the man said. He turned and looked. He looked like he d been
crying. Just tell me. We wouldn t ever eat anybody, would we? No. Of course not. Even if we were
starving?... But we wouldn t. No. We wouldn t No matter what? No. No matter what. Because were
the good guys. Yes. And we re carrying the fire? And we re carrying the fire. Yes. (McCarthy 195) .
The exchange of the dialogue here between the man and his son shows how the man has shaped his
son with a compass of separation between good and bad. Although the man believes his son learns this

Theory Of Learned Helplessness
The Theory of Learned Helplessness (TLH) (Peterson, 1982) is the theoretical foundation chosen for
this study. Learned helplessness is a psychological condition which can cause a person to feel
completely powerless to change their circumstances for the better. It is defined as the failure of an
individual to engage in behaviors that will allow them to escape from or avoid aversive stimuli such as
in the ICU environment (Peterson, 1982; Seligman, 1972). It begins with the post surgical patient
awakening to an environment of abrupt disempowerment that often includes the restriction of
movement, the inability to speak, the loss of human choice, and the bombardment of continuous
aversive stimulation. Consequently, aversive stimulus encountered ... Show more content on

The demonstration of abrupt and unusual cognitive decline, variations of anxiety, and other symptoms
that indicate a direct loss of control connect the Theory of Learned Helplessness to the knowledge of
when delirium may start. Moreover, understanding the trajectory and onset of delirium will inform or
contribute to existing research and knowledge of the Theory of Learned Helplessness and extend the
boundaries of the theory by explaining the dependence of hospitalized patients following their
experience with restrictive and disempowering care in the critical care environment. In addition,
practitioners could initiate an early treatment plan followed by simple interventions to assist the
patient in reducing anxiety and subsequent cognitive decline that results in manifestations of delirium.
These simple interventions to reduce anxiety could include facilitating independence and assisting the
patient in meeting their basic needs, which can lead to positive engagement with their current
environment. What is more, these interventions could extend the Theory of Learned Helplessness by
simply recognizing the patient as a living human being. The Theory of Learned Helplessness can
explain the onset of delirium when the patient eventually feels that there is nothing that they can do to
overcome their symptoms during the progression of mechanical ventilation

Essay on Nibco s Big Bang
NIBCO s Big Bang : SAP Implementation In 1994, after a significant strategic planning effort took
place, NIBCO Inc., decided to implement a plan to, Go Live with a new SAP program. (Brown,
Dehayes, Hoffer, Martin amp; Perkins. 2012) The reasons behind NIBCO s decision to implement and
ERP System are those that are familiar to other companies who have made the same decision. One of
the key conclusions from the strategic planning that led to the ERP implementation was that the
organization could not prosper with its current information systems. (Brown, Dehayes, Hoffer, Martin
amp; Perkins. 2012) They systems that they were currently using had evolved into a patchwork of
legacy systems and reporting tools that could not talk to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the case of NIBCO, it was not beneficial to their staff to put a rush on implementing the new SAP
program because this rush made it hard on employees and their families because the employee had to
work harder and longer. Having this type of work environment on a daily basis could definitely lead to
stress at home. The Boston Consulting group (BCG) was brought in to help the company develop a
strategic information systems plan to meet its new business objectives. The fact that they were
recommending a three to five year phased ERP implementation system was not the best approach
because it would take too long to implement. (Brown, Dehayes, Hoffer, Martin amp; Perkins. 2012)
Another con in the implementation plan was the fact that NIBCO would have to commit a significant
portion of its resources in order to quickly put in place the systems to execute the new supply chain
and customer facing strategies. (Brown, Dehayes, Hoffer, Martin amp; Perkins. 2012) In implement
that SAP program, it seemed as if it would have benefited NIBCO better if the management
consultants would have known more about ERP and or SAP so it would not be difficult to apply their
principles. (Brown, Dehayes, Hoffer, Martin amp; Perkins. 2012) Even though there were some
negatives, there

Gustav Mahler Essay
Mahler was born in Kalischt, Bohemia, on July 7, 1860. At the time, Bohemia (later to form a major
component of Czechoslovakia, and later the Czech Republic) was part of the Austro Hungarian
empire, then enduring its final crumbling decades, and the region where Mahler spent his youth was
strongly associate with the Czech independence movement. However, Mahler also was a Jew, and
Jews in the region were associated by ethnic Czechs with Germans. Mahler famous quote is: quot;I am
thrice homeless, as a native of Bohemia in Austria, as an Austrian among Germans, and as a Jew
throughout the world. Everywhere an intruder, never welcomed. quot; Then add to that the fact that
the public considered Mahler to be a gifted conductor with a habit of ... Show more content on

He also ruled with an iron fist, helping create the image of conductor as dictator. This was not,
however, the result of simple ego, but rather of Mahler s artistic honesty and desire. When members of
the opera orchestra complained that one or another lazy practice was tradition, Mahler s favorite reply
was that quot;[t]radition is laziness. quot; Mahler believed that opera was the highest form of art, not
mere entertainment. A classic example is when Mahler decided to give the Vienna premiere of
Charpentier s Louise. Charpentier came to the dress rehearsal and criticized the sets, the costumes and
Mahler s conducting. Mahler s reaction was to cancel the premier and redo the costumes and set to
Charpentier s specifications and studied the score with the composer so that his conducting, too,
would be to Charpentier s satisfaction.
Another demonstrative incident during his leadership of the Vienna Opera was his attempts to present
Richard Strauss opera, Salome. Mahler was a basically prudish man, and his wife, Alma Mahler, later
stated that he had argued against Strauss setting Wilde s Salome. Strauss, of course, went ahead and
composed the piece, submitted it for production by the Vienna Opera, and was informed that the
Censorship Board had banned the work due to Strauss references to Christ

Descriptive Essay About A Wedding
Growing up, one of my favorite movies to watch was Cinderella. It shows a classic fairy tale wedding
that almost every girl, including me, fantasizes about. Fortunately for me, I was given an opportunity
to be a part of one. It was 8 o clock in the morning on a fresh fall day. My mom and I arrived at Ulta
Beauty to meet with my sister to get our hair and makeup done. As soon as we walked in I could smell
the hairspray and saw all the makeup we had to choose from. I choose to do a classic bun with a braid
while my sister chose to do a loose bun with hair framing her face. For our makeup, we both chose to
do a classic fall, but light look. This consisted of using Clinique foundation with a light orange
eyeshadow and finishing the look with fake eyelashes. Our next task of the day was to meet at the
Best Western Hotel in New Ulm to get ready. I put on my bridesmaid dress and assisted my sister with
any final touch ups. She stepped into her cinderella, lace, full, cream colored ball gown and I laced her
up. My eyes have never seen anything more gorgeous than her. She glistened like snow on a sunny
day. To get more natural and clear looking photos, the wedding party headed downstairs to a room
with natural lighting to set up for pictures. Kara stood by the window while we all took turns fixing
her veil, or buttoning her dress, all while pictures were being taken. After an hour or so, we all made
our way down to German Park, where the wedding would take place. The park was

Silas Marner
George Eliot the pseudonym of Mary Anne Evans was born in Warwickshire, England in 1819. Eliot
was one of the finest realists of Victorian fiction and produced a remarkable range of intellectual
novels throughout her life, including the moral fable of Silas Marner. The 19th Century was an
extremely patriarchal period, which Mary Anne Evans had to pen her name as George Eliot, otherwise
her novels would not be published. George Eliot was a critic of the Victorian society in which she

George Eliot and Silas Marner even though both have male names, this is not what connects them

Silas Marner belonged to a narrow religious sector and was highly thought of in that little hidden

wrongly accused of stealing church money, he then travelled to a village called Raveloe. After Silas
had been accused of theft the people in the church in Lantern Yard had to make themselves sure of his
guilt, any resort to legal measures for ascertaining the culprit was contrary to principles of the church
in the Lantern Yard so they resolved to drawing lots, the lots declared that Silas Marner was guilty. He
was solemnly suspended from church membership and called upon to render up the stolen money.

himself off from other human company and all religious beliefs. Silas knew that William had stolen

Cosplay Imperialism
Cosplay, short for costume play , is a performance art in which people called cosplayers wear
costumes and specific accessories and props to represent or portray a specific fictional character. It is a
unique Japanese form of art which, playing upon the identificatory fantasy, it enables the western
participants to assume identities and to differentiate themselves in ways which western culture cannot.
The average cosplayer is not just putting on a costume; the experience is one of rebirth, an identity
transformation. Daniel s (2010) paper determines whether cosplay is a demonstration of cultural
imperialism of cultural hybridity. Lotecki (2012) and Hale s (2014) paper examines the creative,
emotional, social, and behavioural processes in which cosplayers participate while interpreting and

Essay about The Role of Loneliness in James Joyce s Ulysses
The Role of Loneliness in James Joyce s Ulysses
Have you ever had one of those days when the world seems cold and unfeeling? Where the people that
surround you are far away and uncaring? Ulysses is about one of those days, and two people who are
stuck within it, searching desperately for a way out. Loneliness runs like a thread through Ulysses, a
novel by James Joyce. It constantly tugs at the character s minds, and drives their lives in subtle ways.
Joyce drives the point home by giving a drab, grey description of the character s lives.
Ulysses is set in 1904, Dublin, Ireland. Joyce s book was first published in 1922. The plot of Ulysses

Corporate Downsizing Corporate Downsizing Organizations in every segment of business, industry,

in the last few years. The controversy that surrounds downsizing may be better described as a debate
in organizational theory about whether change is adaptive or disruptive. The issues which establish the
outcome of the controversy include why the downsizing is taking affect, how it is implemented, and
what steps are taken to enhance its effects on organizational performance. The reasons for corporate

Management wants a quick cut that protects he company s assets, yet it wants to be gentle and
compassionate to those who are let go. These two objectives are self canceling, and to accomplish the
first requires considerable compromise on the second. Many companies wait until the day of the lay
off to inform its employees. They are concerned about sabotage and productivity. They seem to think
that if they retain the bad news until the last moment that the employees will leave and the rest will get
back to business. However, this method of a lay off is the least favorable for the employees. If the
company gives the employees notice of the cutback in the workforce, they will have time to plan for
the financial problems, look for other work, and make other necessary arrangements to prepare them
for the loss.
It would be in the best interest of the company to give this notice to its workers. Being a survivor of
downsizing can have its own ethical issues. Those who are left after the downsizing has occurred, may
share perceptions about the ethics of the decisions leading up to the dismissal of those who left. They
may experience feelings such as anger, guilt, fear, and even depression. These feelings could be
brought on by having to take up the slack and doing more work. They could also be asked to learn
new tasks and for the same or maybe even less money than before the downsizing. Asking people to

Pros And Cons Of Body Modification
Although body modification has some benefits the government should raise or create an age
restriction for body surgeries. In third grade, I learned that my uncle had died. A relative dying may
not particularly uncommon, but my story varies from others because I had not known my uncle
existed. The extent of my knowledge at the time was that my dad had 1 brother but he apparently had
2. My parents never told me about him because they didn;t want me to hang around somebody who
used drugs because of the possible influence it could have on me. My uncle s drug addiction began in
his teens. He ended up stealing stuff in order to pay for them, unbeknownst to his parents and my dad.
I think this perfectly illustrates the lapse in judgement of teens because my uncle made the choice to
do drugs once which at the time may have seemed cool but if he thought it through, maybe he never
would have actually used them. If he was older at that time, he may have thought his decision through
more than he did and he would still be alive today. The major judgement issues in teens result in much
more than just a drug addiction but they may result in a teen with a completely surgically changed
body. In order to prevent this, having an age restriction presents itself as the only solution. Although
some use body modification for an outlet in which they express themselves, the government must
create an age limit of 21 for the procedures.
Granted that body modification has certain drawbacks, it does

Albertans themselves. As of July 2013, there were 114 recorded oil sands projects located in Alberta.
This goes to show how big the project is. Employment is a one of the biggest benefits of the oil sands
project. In 2012, around 121,500 people were working for Alberta s upstream energy sector, which
includes conventional oil and gas, and mining (Alberta Government). Estimated profit from the
projects was around $3.56 billion in 2012 2013 and is still growing. This revenue is used to help fund

The Girl With Only Two Arms And Two Legs Literary Analysis
I bet you like to be treated well. In the story, Quarta was not treated well. Her classmates were really
mean t o her even though she was really nice to everybody else. The theme in the story The Girl With
Only Two Arms And Two Legs By is to treat people how you would like to be treated. You can tell
this is true because Quarta is very nice to everybody but nobody is nice to her. I know this because she
lets anybody play One Ball, a game she introduced to her classmates. One Ball is a game that is very
close to volleyball. I also know that this is the theme because Quarta helps others. Even though her
classmates who had four arms and four legs are mean to Quarta because she has only two of each.
This shows that she follows the golden rule even though her classmates are mean. Last but not least
the other kids are plain out mean to her. These are reasons why this story is about treat people how
you want to be treated. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She even let Shay play One Ball. The reason why this is nice is because Shay has two deformed legs
and arms so he only has two working ones of each like Quarta. My next reason why I know this is true

Ball. Lastly, she lets the other kids that the bullies won t let play with them play. This is one reason of
how Quarta follows the golden

Psychological And Psychological Noise In Everything I...
Noise Everything I Never Told You is about an interracial American family trying to piece together the
fragments of the life, Lydia, the middle child, had before she tragically died at age 16. Throughout the
book, all the characters seem to face psychological and semantic noise when communicating with
each other. Psychological noise, also known as internal noise, refers to a communicator s biases,
prejudices, or feelings towards a person or message (West 13). Semantic noise occurs when senders
and receivers apply different meaning to the same message (West 14). It takes the death of Lydia for
the family to realize how little they truly know about each other and how noise kept them from
understanding one another their whole lives. Marilyn s psychological noise stemmed from her
childhood and affected everyone in her family. Marilyn s mother projected her desires onto her
daughter growing up, expecting Marilyn to find a Harvard man and settle down (Ng 30). Marilyn
would later in life, push her own desires on Lydia not realizing the life Marilyn wanted is not
necessarily the life Lydia wants. Marilyn says things to Lydia like only if you want to but the only
reason Lydia really says yes, is to keep her mother from running away again when she finds the
cookbook (Ng 138). Marilyn wanted Lydia not to feel like she had to fall into housewife duties like
her own mother had wanted, where Lydia just thought of her mom s tears on the page in the cookbook
where it claims there is a love little girls have for cooking with their mother. Marilyn said that Lydia
always seemed happy and eager to please, but Lydia was just putting on a smile in hope her mother
would never leave again (Ng 119). Lydia blamed herself all those years after Marilyn ran away and
even after Marilyn was back. All Lydia wanted was her family to stay together but Marilyn wanted her
to be exceptional. Marilyn experienced semantic noise on her wedding day when she told her husband,
James, what her mother said about marrying someone more like her. A message that Marilyn had just
brushed off, James had carried for years (Ng 203). Marilyn and James heard the same message that
day but experienced it in different ways, driving a wedge between them. James

Divergent Dystopia Essay
Divergent Dystopia vs. modern day society
Many of us focus on trying to see the positive side of things, but the truth is that sometimes we need to
open our eyes, and notice the negative activities sourrounding our world. Once we comprehende what
is negativetely affecting our world, then we should find a way to fix it, and shape the world. Finally,
after we have done all of that, then maybe we can have a better world, but to have a utopian society
just seems way out of our reach. A dystopian society, just like the one in the novel divergent,
definetely is different from our modern day society, but our society dosent neceseraly stay behind On
the novel divergent, the society seems out of control, it feel like it is a place were you cant be feeling
safe for a second. In the novel, the euridite faction had been long time rivals with abnegation, so they
had a sinister plan to end with abnigation once and for all. Consequently, what the euridite did, was

As a matter of fact, our society also unfortuantely relates alot to this dystopian novel. Arguably, there
is no doubt that in our society although, it is illegal to commit any sort of crime of harming other

harming someone is a crime, yet they still do it. similarly, to the novel divergent, in our modern day
society there is often alot of bribeing, and manipulation between people, including the goverment at
times. Overall, the point is that even though a setting just like the one in the dystopian novel divergent
isnt as harsh and extreme as our modern day society, if we open our eyes and just look for a moment

The Importance Of Decision Making In Shakespeare s Romeo...
Love makes people do crazy things , Romeo and Juliet loved each other and Love got them killed. The
play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare can be more understood by the research, The
Mysterious Workings of the Adolescent Brain by Sarah Jayne Blakemore. In Romeo and Juliet 6
people died because of what they thought was right to do, but in Sarah s research that was based on
MRI scans tell us that the brains is still developing in your early teens to 20+ years. Sarah Jayne
Blakemore s thesis on adolescent development sheds light on some of the nonsensical decisions
making in Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet, as characters they face the violent mood swings, horrible
risk taking and self consciousness. First of all the decisions characters make in the play result from
violent mood swings. Romeo thought he couldn t live without Juliet so the result of that he wanted to
kill himself. Art thou so bare and full of wretchedness and fearest to die?...Thy world is not thy
friend... To Juliet s grave. Juliet is not actually dead but Romeo thinks she is because Friar Laurence

Legalization In Canada
Legalization of marijuana, also known as cannabis, weed, etc. has been a trending controversial topic
in many sectors of Canada. Although, there have been several studies, organizations and celebrities
endorsing the legalization; marijuana should not be legalized due to its severe health effects. Cannabis
has both short and long term effects on an individual s health. These effects range from brain function
and development, mental illness, heart rate to lung damage. With almost 44 percent of Canadians who
have tried marijuana, the health of Canadians is at stake. Marijuana has a significant effect on the
general physical health. One of the short term and obvious effects is the reddening of the eyes. This
occurs due to expanding blood vessels ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Marijuana in the late 1960s had only one percent of tetrahydrocannabinol, compared to present day
where Health Canada has discovered there is at least 10 percent of tetrahydrocannabinol and 30
percent in some cases. The tetrahydrocannabinol is a strong chemical and works immediately after one
has inhaled it. Tetrahydrocannabinol mimics the neurotransmitter anandamide, which fills in the
synapse between neurons and this disrupts the brain s regular functions. In a normally functioning
brain, anandamide activates the cannabinoid receptors but when smoking marijuana
tetrahydrocannabinol activates these receptors which are in the hippocampus, cerebellum and basal
ganglia. This affects the short term memory, coordination, and learning and problem solving skills for
an individual. Brain development is also affected by the use of cannabis. Dr. Harold Kalant conducted
a study in the 1980s with rats and cannabis use. He separated the rats into two groups; rats exposed to
cannabis at adolescents and rats exposed to cannabis in adulthood. Kalant observed the rats exposed to
cannabis as adolescents, had difficulty with memory and learning even after nine years of no
exposure. In comparison, the rats who were adults when exposed to cannabis didn t have long term
effects. It is evident that brain development was disrupted by the use of cannabis in the growing years.
Also, Dr. Andra Smith saw in her functional magnetic resonance imaging of brain activity of regular
cannabis smokers and non smokers, that the smokers had a more brain activity. She stated it was due
to the brain having to work hard to respond accurately . It is obvious that brain function and
development is harshly impacted by the use of

Then there is the outside leg, which is when going in a circle, the farthest leg from the center. One way
to move across the ice do what is called the duck walk . First, bend your knees and point your toes out.
Next, while keeping your toes out, step forward, and push out a little. Then glide between each step.
Once you have picked up some speed, put both feet side by side and glide. Putting your feet side by
side and gliding is called the two feet glide. Go back and forth from duck walk to the two feet glide.
Another way to move forward is the swizzles. To do the swizzles there are three steps: the bend, push,
and recovery. First, start out with your feet together and your toes pointed out (Foeste 47). Next do a
deep knee bend and begin to push out with your skates (Foeste 47). After that, push out with both

How Victor Frankenstein Changes
The Novel Frankenstein; or, the Modern Prometheus by Mary Shelley you would have noticed that
there is a significantly amount of action and change through the course of the novel. As we read the
novel, I had notice that Victor Frankenstein s plans and goals had changed as the novel came to an
end. The Novel takes place in the Frozen Wastelands in the 1800s. Victor Frankenstein was born in
Naples, and moved to Geneva with his family when his brother William was born. Nowhere in the
novel is the setting more significant than in the Arctic scenes, where the novel begins and ends. Victor
has quite literally chased his monster to the ends of the earth, then finally the monster ends up killing
himself. Throughout the course of the novel by Mary Shelley, Victor changes his plans and goals by

During the Second World War, approximately 25.3 million people living in the USSR died from the

wanted to expand westward because they wanted to create a buffer zone between Soviet Union as a

Essay on Orgon s Incompetence in Tartuffe
Jean Baptiste Poquelin Moliere s Tartuffe is an epic play of hypocrisy, betrayal, and the tale of a
foolish mind. Moliere s choice of protagonist in this play happens to be the most blatantly ignorant
character in the play. Orgon is naive to the villain Tartuffe s hypocritical ways, makes a complete
dunce of himself by uplifting Tartuffe as holy, and failing to pick up the abundance of clues of Tartuffe
being fake. Analyzing this character is rather interesting and at the same time frustrating to read of
someone so ignorant that they fail to see the wolf hiding under the sheep clothing. A fool is a fool
unless they open their eyes to see the truth, and it took Orgon the majority of the play to realize the
truth.

Orgon keep his promise to Valere with his daughters hand in marriage. Orgon s character is drawn as

Budget Planning And Control Management
Budget Planning and Control
According to our text a budget is a formal written statement of management s plans for a specified
future time period, expressed in financial terms (Wiley, 2013). An effective budget gives a company
command and control over financial resources. It helps a company to plan and achieve their strategic
and organizational goals. There are many reasons for a company to prepare and manage a budget, such
as assisting with performance evaluations and identifying possible constraints and limitations.
The budget is an important basis for evaluating performance. It can provide benchmarks against which
to judge success or failure in reaching goals and facilitates timely corrective measures (Bragg, 2010).
Budgeting forms the baseline for a company s future performance. Managers create the budget
anticipating financial conditions and market expectations for future periods. These managers calculate
revenues and expenses for the period being budgeted. When the period reflected in the budget arrives,
the managers compare actual expenses to the budget numbers and evaluate the department s
performance (Bragg, 2010).
Another advantage of budgets is that they can be instrumental in identifying constraints and
bottlenecks. The earlier example of the power plant well illustrated this point. Efficient operation of
the power plant was limited by the supply of

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Audio Lingual Method
Nowadays, although teaching and learning English has constantly changed, the Audio Lingual Method
still plays a significant role in many English classes around the world. According to Larsen Freeman
(2000), the Audio Lingual Method was developed from an interesting idea that behavioral psychology
and linguistic conventions are closely related to each other. Thus, this method aims to enhance
learners ability by overlearn and habit formation.
The goal of this method is to help the students to be able to communicate in the target language. In
order to achieve this purpose, the Audio Lingual Method contains the following characteristics.
Firstly, contextualized dialogs are utilized to present new vocabulary and structures in class. Secondly,
the conversations are learned through drills which are considered as an integral part of the Audio
Lingual Method. In my own teaching, backward build up drill, repetition drill and substitution drill
contribute importantly the success of students learning. Next, grammar rules are induced from
examples. By this approach, students personalize and use the grammatical points naturally like the
way they acquire the native language. Based on above features, it is believed that the Audio Lingual
Method has a part in the communicative development of students in the target language.

The Black Walnut Tree Analysis
It is true that we cannot take our worldly possessions with us after we leave this world. Thus, deciding
which possessions are worth fighting for is something most people grapple with in their lives. Because
mortgage bills and other financial responsibilities have the power to cripple a family s finances, the
story of the family portrayed by Mary Oliver in The Black Walnut Tree that decides to keep a Walnut
Tree instead of paying off their mortgage is endearing and relatable. The use of communal diction,
simile, and personification convey the relationship between the tree and the family as invaluable and
indispensable. Communal diction is used to characterize the relationship between the family and the

The incentive to keep the tree is described as brighter than money because an edge sharp and quick as

simile implies that the pain of selling the tree would be sharp and deep. The work and time that it
would take to dig and sow to maintain the tree is still less pain than the initial loss of the tree. Because
they would feel loss if the tree were gone, the relationship is shown to have meaning. Personification
also contributes to the relationship by making the tree a lively component of the family instead of a
passive object in the back yard. A relationship necessitates at least two parties so it is necessary that
the tree be a part of the family. At the end of the poem, the black walnut tree swings into another year
when the family decides to keep it. This shows that the family respects the tree as its own entity and
presence. First, this personifies the tree as free and leisurely because swings are usually for play. It
also contextualizes the tree as having a

experiences of things from life. It is empirical and also an inductive argument and is based on the
premises that; complex things in the world have been created by a designer, the world is complex and
looks designed, therefore, the world must have a designer that designer is God. The conclusion is, at
best, highly probably but not certain.
The most popular version of the Design Argument is that by William Paley which appeared in his

Self Conflicts In Animal Farm, By George Orwell
It s a sunny day on a Thursday afternoon and I was at the park. I look over and see my friend getting
bullied by a group a kids. I couldn t just watch it happen so I walked over to him and told the bullies
to leave. The bullies walked away and I told my friend that he needs to go and stand up for himself.
He went over there to say something, but it just made everything worse. In the story Animal Farm by
George Orwell the animals are mistreated and rebel later. Napoleon the main character takes the spot
as the leader. He has many self conflicts and conflicts with another. Nevertheless the theme it is
difficult to say who does you the most harm enemies with the worst intentions or friends with the best
is the better theme. This theme fits better because yes the owner did mistreat him and cause him pain.
But once he became the leader everyone got mad and left him. His friends who were trying to help
just made him more mad and his friends causing them to separate from each other. Napoleon lost the
people that were trying to help him beat the people who were hurting him. The theme it is difficult to
say who does you the most harm enemies with the worst intentions or friends with the best fits better.
The story Animal Farm by George Orwell states, Comrades, he said, I trust that every animal here
appreciates the sacrifice that Comrade Napoleon has made in taking this extra labour upon himself .
This quote shows how Napoleon did some extra work and wanted everyone to thank

Nineteen Minutes
The book Nineteen Minutes is a tragic story about a teenage boy going into his high school one day
and start to shoot at people after being constantly bullied since kindergarten. The book Please Stop
Laughing at Me is a true story about the author s own experiences being bullied in school. These two
books both deal with the trauma of growing up being bullied and how they both handled it. Peter
Houghton, the bullied victim in Nineteen Minutes, decided to take action himself because no one else
was helping him. Jodee Blanco, after years of bullying, decided to make a book about her own
experiences with bullying in her years after high school. Both books share lots in common, starting
from their main characters to the characters experiences, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Like how both characters grew up, the people that help them through all of the bullying, and the end
result of it all. Peter Houghton grew up with a golden boy brother, who was also one of his bullies
until his death the previous year before the shooting and always made him feel unimportant in his own
home. His parents weren t very helpful when Peter was getting bullied. Even from a young age Peter s
mom wanted him to be strong about it and deal with the bullying rather than actually help him through
it. He also had a best friend Josie Cormier, a best friend who used to defend from the bullies until she
decided to leave him for the popular crowd in sixth grade. So after so many years and years of
bullying, with no support from his family and due to the fact that he only had one friend who was also
being bullied, Peter took it into his own hands to end the harassment and he went into his school and
enacted his revenge. Unlike Peter, Jodee grew up as an only child in a loving supportive family. She
had friends the moment she was in school, she wasn t popular but she had friends. She never had a
constant friend that always defended her and was always there for her. Her parents were supportive of
her when she told them about the bullying, even if she may not of liked their methods of helping her
which was her going to the therapists, they were still supportive. As she grew up she began to notice

The Properties of Chemical Reactions
Properties of Chemical Reactions
Ms. Whitty, Science 10
Fiona Adams, November 1st, 2012
Introduction
Chemical reactions are a part of our daily lives, from rusting metal to making bread to leaves changing
colour in the fall. A chemical reaction is the process that occurs when two or more substances combine
to produce a chemical change. When a chemical reaction takes place, the change is indicated by one or
more qualitative properties. The colour or odor could change, gas could be produced, a precipitate a
solid substance in a solution could be formed, or energy could be absorbed or released. The substances
initially involved in a chemical reaction are called reactants. When chemical reactions occur, the end
result is called a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The acetic acid was clear, colorless and in a liquid state. The sodium bicarbonate, however, was a
white powder, in a solid state. The reaction caused the new substance to bubble and foam, producing a
gas.
(Table 4) Quantitative Observations from Part 2 Mass of Sodium Bicarbonate (g) | 1.01 | Mass of
Acetic Acid (g) | 14.29 | Mass of Products (g) | 14.88 |
Analysis
Part 1:
The chemical reaction that took place was evidenced by several qualitative observations. The colour
of the two original substances was clear, and when combined the colour changed to yellow a change
of colour is clear evidence of a chemical reaction. The word equation for this reaction would be
potassium iodide + lead (II) nitrate Potassium nitrate and lead (II) iodide. In the form of a balanced
equation, this reaction would be 2KI + Pb(NO3)2 2KNO3 + PbI2.
Weighing both the reactants and the product showed that the mass of the reactants, with the apparatus,
was 140.26 grams. The mass of the product, with the apparatus, was also 140.26 grams the product of
this reaction had the same mass as the reactants. These results were expected, based on the Law of
Conservation of Mass. The Law of Conservation of Mass is neither created nor destroyed in a
chemical reaction. The application of the Law of Conservation of Mass means that the mass of
products in a chemical reaction will equal the mass of the

Daniel In The Lion s Den
Daniel In The Lion s Den
A Bible story that never grows old is the one of Daniel in the lion s den. (Daniel 6:1 28)
Lesson #1: In addition to the way Daniel handled mistreatment and the hateful attitudes of certain
people, one can easily see the hand of God as it providentially cared for a faithful servant.
Lesson #2: King Darius favored Daniel because of his excellent spirit. Now, that was quite disturbing
to those jealous hearted men so they set about to destroy Daniel, and that is the way jealousy reacts
especially when others are favored; nonetheless, in the process of trying to destroy a child of God,
they lost their own lives.
Lesson #3: Good things came to Daniel because he was faithful in his duties. Those scallywags could

Oh Yes! The devil uses flattery: Then these men said, we shall not find any occasion against this
Daniel unless we find it against him concerning the Law of his God.
Then these presidents and rulers assembled to the king, and said this to him: King Darius, live forever.
All the presidents of the kingdom, the prefects, and the satraps, and the officials and governors, have
planned together to establish a royal law, and to make a strong ban that whoever shall ask a petition of
any god or man for thirty days, except from you, O king, he shall be thrown into the den of lions.
Lesson #5: Trouble does not always have a good influence upon a person. It sometimes changes good
people for the worst, for they are never able to forget those early scars, and they become sour or
cynical. But the secret of Daniel s success was: because he trusted in his God.
Lesson #6: God will always win and those who remain faithful to Him will be honored; ...thanks be to
God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. So that, my beloved brothers, be
steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not
without fruit in the Lord. I Corinthians

The Cave Allegory In Plato s The Republic
The Cave Allegory
Plato a famous Greek philosopher in his book The Republic has his teacher Socrates recount the
allegory of the cave.
A group of people have lived chained up in a deep cave since birth, never ever seeing daylight and
seeing only ahead. Behind them is a partial wall and a fire between the prisoners and the partial wall.
There are various statues manipulated by a hidden group (representing all the forces that program and
influence us) behind the partial wall that the prisoners cannot see.
The prisoners see the shadows cast by the statutes move and think they are real. Most people mistake
the products of their deletion, generalization, distortions and projections as real and reflecting reality.
They mistake their internal map of the world for the real world. ... Show more content on

They have never realized their mental models were controlling them.
One of the prisoners is freed from his bonds and forced to confront the reality of the fire and statutes
themselves. This is what happens when one day you wake up and something shocking happens (you
lose your job or someone close to you dies) and you are shaken out of your trance state or default
mode and forced to see the world as it is.
So the prisoner faces pain and confusion initially because his eyes are not used to the light. He then
realizes that he is seeing the reality for the first time as opposed to the shadows formed by the fire and
the statues, he previously saw.
He now accepts the fire and statues as most real. This stage in the cave represents belief. He is still
unaware that there that there are things of greater reality a world beyond his cave.
Like the prisoner, the first step to freedom is when you begin to wake up from your dream state and
your default modes.
Next, this prisoner is dragged out of the cave into world of sunlight where his eyes are blinded.
Initially he can only look at shadows, then at

Why I Started Middle School Essay
Whenever I first began middle school, I was well aware of the new and divergent obstacles I would
come across. The classes would become more advanced, teachers more strict, and lunches more
disgusting. During my 6th grade year, this change became clear. As my homework was piling up, so
was my stress. Balancing school, sports, and family time had never been an unchallenging task, but I
never have and never will let that be the reason for my grades to drop. The immense amount of effort I
put into school is one consistent quality I possess that will never disintegrate, as opposed to what one
teacher said. Sometime during my 6th grade year, parent teacher conferences were arriving. I was used
to them at this point. I was expecting my mom to come home from the conference and give me the
same report from my teachers as usual that I worked hard, received good grades, and was a well
behaved student. However, this time, I heard entirely different feedback. When my mom walked into
the kitchen that evening, where I was doing homework, she gave me a funny look. She was grinning,
but still looked puzzled.
Minorly concerned, I asked her, How did the parent teacher conferences go?
She quickly responded, Your sisters meetings went great, as usual.
Right after she said that, she went silent. I wondered why she was not mentioning anything about her
meeting with my teacher, Mr. Frick. I became very anxious, even though I could not recall a time
when Mr. Frick had gotten

  • 2. Similarities Between Western And Eastern Cultures The term behavior refers one s acts dominated by ideology in response to certain situations. Behavior derives from the long development of culture in which people are defined what is supposed to act based on the identity given. In other words, one s behavior sometimes is the demonstration of one s identity. Living in a multi culture world, people from various cultures may behave totally different toward a situation or stimulus. Western and eastern cultures typically reflects the point of behavioral differentiations among distinct cultures. The United States, as a superpower established in last hundreds of years, possesses distinguishing features of western culture such as open and liberty. Meanwhile, China is an eastern country with an ancient civilization stands for conservative culture. Therefore, as represents of these two cultures, the United States and China are appropriate examples to explore the behavioral differentiations, and the differences in behavior can be well demonstrated through daily behaviors like classroom, driving and dining. Firstly, comparing the classroom behaviors, the classroom behaviors between America and China are two extremes that Americans are more active in class while Chinese tend to behave passively in class. The world of The Road is a complete anarchy, and the man displays extensive amounts of bravery while trying to face the struggles and hardships that is presented to them. Whether the challenge is to be hiding from cannibals, or wandering into dangerous abandon houses, the man always exhibits ample amounts of bravery. Even though the man s son is born into the disheveled and chaotic world and experiences nothing else before, the boy s sense of right and wrong came from his father. The man constantly influences his son by telling him that they are the good and guys: Look at me, the man said. He turned and looked. He looked like he d been crying. Just tell me. We wouldn t ever eat anybody, would we? No. Of course not. Even if we were starving?... But we wouldn t. No. We wouldn t No matter what? No. No matter what. Because were the good guys. Yes. And we re carrying the fire? And we re carrying the fire. Yes. (McCarthy 195) . The exchange of the dialogue here between the man and his son shows how the man has shaped his son with a compass of separation between good and bad. Although the man believes his son learns this ... • 8. Theory Of Learned Helplessness The Theory of Learned Helplessness (TLH) (Peterson, 1982) is the theoretical foundation chosen for this study. Learned helplessness is a psychological condition which can cause a person to feel completely powerless to change their circumstances for the better. It is defined as the failure of an individual to engage in behaviors that will allow them to escape from or avoid aversive stimuli such as in the ICU environment (Peterson, 1982; Seligman, 1972). It begins with the post surgical patient awakening to an environment of abrupt disempowerment that often includes the restriction of movement, the inability to speak, the loss of human choice, and the bombardment of continuous aversive stimulation. Consequently, aversive stimulus encountered ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The demonstration of abrupt and unusual cognitive decline, variations of anxiety, and other symptoms that indicate a direct loss of control connect the Theory of Learned Helplessness to the knowledge of when delirium may start. Moreover, understanding the trajectory and onset of delirium will inform or contribute to existing research and knowledge of the Theory of Learned Helplessness and extend the boundaries of the theory by explaining the dependence of hospitalized patients following their experience with restrictive and disempowering care in the critical care environment. In addition, practitioners could initiate an early treatment plan followed by simple interventions to assist the patient in reducing anxiety and subsequent cognitive decline that results in manifestations of delirium. These simple interventions to reduce anxiety could include facilitating independence and assisting the patient in meeting their basic needs, which can lead to positive engagement with their current environment. What is more, these interventions could extend the Theory of Learned Helplessness by simply recognizing the patient as a living human being. The Theory of Learned Helplessness can explain the onset of delirium when the patient eventually feels that there is nothing that they can do to overcome their symptoms during the progression of mechanical ventilation ... (Brown, Dehayes, Hoffer, Martin amp; Perkins. 2012) The reasons behind NIBCO s decision to implement and ERP System are those that are familiar to other companies who have made the same decision. One of the key conclusions from the strategic planning that led to the ERP implementation was that the organization could not prosper with its current information systems. The Boston Consulting group (BCG) was brought in to help the company develop a strategic information systems plan to meet its new business objectives. The fact that they were recommending a three to five year phased ERP implementation system was not the best approach because it would take too long to implement. (Brown, Dehayes, Hoffer, Martin amp; Perkins. 2012) Another con in the implementation plan was the fact that NIBCO would have to commit a significant portion of its resources in order to quickly put in place the systems to execute the new supply chain and customer facing strategies. He also ruled with an iron fist, helping create the image of conductor as dictator. This was not, however, the result of simple ego, but rather of Mahler s artistic honesty and desire. When members of the opera orchestra complained that one or another lazy practice was tradition, Mahler s favorite reply was that quot;[t]radition is laziness. quot; Mahler believed that opera was the highest form of art, not mere entertainment. A classic example is when Mahler decided to give the Vienna premiere of Charpentier s Louise. Charpentier came to the dress rehearsal and criticized the sets, the costumes and Mahler s conducting. Mahler s reaction was to cancel the premier and redo the costumes and set to Charpentier s specifications and studied the score with the composer so that his conducting, too, would be to Charpentier s satisfaction. Another demonstrative incident during his leadership of the Vienna Opera was his attempts to present Richard Strauss opera, Salome. Mahler was a basically prudish man, and his wife, Alma Mahler, later stated that he had argued against Strauss setting Wilde s Salome. Strauss, of course, went ahead and composed the piece, submitted it for production by the Vienna Opera, and was informed that the Censorship Board had banned the work due to Strauss references to Christ ... • 11. Descriptive Essay About A Wedding Growing up, one of my favorite movies to watch was Cinderella. It shows a classic fairy tale wedding that almost every girl, including me, fantasizes about. Fortunately for me, I was given an opportunity to be a part of one. It was 8 o clock in the morning on a fresh fall day. My mom and I arrived at Ulta Beauty to meet with my sister to get our hair and makeup done. As soon as we walked in I could smell the hairspray and saw all the makeup we had to choose from. I choose to do a classic bun with a braid while my sister chose to do a loose bun with hair framing her face. For our makeup, we both chose to do a classic fall, but light look. This consisted of using Clinique foundation with a light orange eyeshadow and finishing the look with fake eyelashes. Our next task of the day was to meet at the Best Western Hotel in New Ulm to get ready. I put on my bridesmaid dress and assisted my sister with any final touch ups. She stepped into her cinderella, lace, full, cream colored ball gown and I laced her up. My eyes have never seen anything more gorgeous than her. She glistened like snow on a sunny day. To get more natural and clear looking photos, the wedding party headed downstairs to a room with natural lighting to set up for pictures. These two objectives are self canceling, and to accomplish the first requires considerable compromise on the second. Many companies wait until the day of the lay off to inform its employees. They are concerned about sabotage and productivity. They seem to think that if they retain the bad news until the last moment that the employees will leave and the rest will get back to business. However, this method of a lay off is the least favorable for the employees. If the company gives the employees notice of the cutback in the workforce, they will have time to plan for the financial problems, look for other work, and make other necessary arrangements to prepare them for the loss. It would be in the best interest of the company to give this notice to its workers. Being a survivor of downsizing can have its own ethical issues. Those who are left after the downsizing has occurred, may share perceptions about the ethics of the decisions leading up to the dismissal of those who left. They may experience feelings such as anger, guilt, fear, and even depression. These feelings could be brought on by having to take up the slack and doing more work. In third grade, I learned that my uncle had died. A relative dying may not particularly uncommon, but my story varies from others because I had not known my uncle existed. The extent of my knowledge at the time was that my dad had 1 brother but he apparently had 2. My parents never told me about him because they didn;t want me to hang around somebody who used drugs because of the possible influence it could have on me. My uncle s drug addiction began in his teens. He ended up stealing stuff in order to pay for them, unbeknownst to his parents and my dad. I think this perfectly illustrates the lapse in judgement of teens because my uncle made the choice to do drugs once which at the time may have seemed cool but if he thought it through, maybe he never would have actually used them. If he was older at that time, he may have thought his decision through more than he did and he would still be alive today. The major judgement issues in teens result in much more than just a drug addiction but they may result in a teen with a completely surgically changed body. Noise Everything I Never Told You is about an interracial American family trying to piece together the fragments of the life, Lydia, the middle child, had before she tragically died at age 16. Throughout the book, all the characters seem to face psychological and semantic noise when communicating with each other. Psychological noise, also known as internal noise, refers to a communicator s biases, prejudices, or feelings towards a person or message (West 13). Semantic noise occurs when senders and receivers apply different meaning to the same message (West 14). It takes the death of Lydia for the family to realize how little they truly know about each other and how noise kept them from understanding one another their whole lives. Marilyn s psychological noise stemmed from her childhood and affected everyone in her family. Marilyn s mother projected her desires onto her daughter growing up, expecting Marilyn to find a Harvard man and settle down (Ng 30). Marilyn would later in life, push her own desires on Lydia not realizing the life Marilyn wanted is not necessarily the life Lydia wants. Marilyn says things to Lydia like only if you want to but the only reason Lydia really says yes, is to keep her mother from running away again when she finds the cookbook (Ng 138). Marilyn wanted Lydia not to feel like she had to fall into housewife duties like her own mother had wanted, where Lydia just thought of her mom s tears on the page in the cookbook where it claims there is a love little girls have for cooking with their mother. Marilyn said that Lydia always seemed happy and eager to please, but Lydia was just putting on a smile in hope her mother would never leave again (Ng 119). Lydia blamed herself all those years after Marilyn ran away and even after Marilyn was back. All Lydia wanted was her family to stay together but Marilyn wanted her to be exceptional. Marilyn experienced semantic noise on her wedding day when she told her husband, James, what her mother said about marrying someone more like her. Marijuana in the late 1960s had only one percent of tetrahydrocannabinol, compared to present day where Health Canada has discovered there is at least 10 percent of tetrahydrocannabinol and 30 percent in some cases. The tetrahydrocannabinol is a strong chemical and works immediately after one has inhaled it. Tetrahydrocannabinol mimics the neurotransmitter anandamide, which fills in the synapse between neurons and this disrupts the brain s regular functions. In a normally functioning brain, anandamide activates the cannabinoid receptors but when smoking marijuana tetrahydrocannabinol activates these receptors which are in the hippocampus, cerebellum and basal ganglia. This affects the short term memory, coordination, and learning and problem solving skills for an individual. Brain development is also affected by the use of cannabis. Dr. Harold Kalant conducted a study in the 1980s with rats and cannabis use. He separated the rats into two groups; rats exposed to cannabis at adolescents and rats exposed to cannabis in adulthood. Kalant observed the rats exposed to cannabis as adolescents, had difficulty with memory and learning even after nine years of no exposure. In comparison, the rats who were adults when exposed to cannabis didn t have long term effects. It is evident that brain development was disrupted by the use of cannabis in the growing years. Also, Dr. Andra Smith saw in her functional magnetic resonance imaging of brain activity of regular cannabis smokers and non smokers, that the smokers had a more brain activity. She stated it was due to the brain having to work hard to respond accurately . It is obvious that brain function and development is harshly impacted by the use of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Budget Planning And Control Management Budget Planning and Control According to our text a budget is a formal written statement of management s plans for a specified future time period, expressed in financial terms (Wiley, 2013). An effective budget gives a company command and control over financial resources. It helps a company to plan and achieve their strategic and organizational goals. There are many reasons for a company to prepare and manage a budget, such as assisting with performance evaluations and identifying possible constraints and limitations. The budget is an important basis for evaluating performance. It can provide benchmarks against which to judge success or failure in reaching goals and facilitates timely corrective measures (Bragg, 2010). Budgeting forms the baseline for a company s future performance. Managers create the budget anticipating financial conditions and market expectations for future periods. These managers calculate revenues and expenses for the period being budgeted. When the period reflected in the budget arrives, the managers compare actual expenses to the budget numbers and evaluate the department s performance (Bragg, 2010). Secondly, the conversations are learned through drills which are considered as an integral part of the Audio Lingual Method. In my own teaching, backward build up drill, repetition drill and substitution drill contribute importantly the success of students learning. Next, grammar rules are induced from examples. The work and time that it would take to dig and sow to maintain the tree is still less pain than the initial loss of the tree. At the end of the poem, the black walnut tree swings into another year when the family decides to keep it. This shows that the family respects the tree as its own entity and presence.
