Egalitarianism And The French Revolution
Egalitarianism. It is the belief that all people are and should be the treated similarly despite age,
gender, race and social or political status. It is the trend of thought that all people are equal and states
that everyone should be handled with the same opportunities in life despite their differences. It s a
popular idea in liberalism: The political philosophy founded on liberty and equality that supports civil
freedom and egalitarianism s basic idea is that everyone has the same fundamental worth. A King can t
be worth more than a peasant... In power and politics: yes but in terms of vitality, they are both simply
human. This one of the reasons that democracy exists; because our worth is important in choosing our
leaders so that they never ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And, while it may seem that egalitarianism is most prominent now in the 21st century, the concept
actually originated in France back in 1799 as its original format equalitarian . This awareness was
established through the French Revolution between 1789 and 1799 which fashioned the doctrine that
all humanity is equal. Egalitarianism was one distinct idea that shaped the French Revolution as it
went through its various phases of Liberty, equality, and fraternity! : the revolutions three base
concepts. The need for egalitarianism in France came from the uneven and unfair regime between the
aristocrats or second estate and the third estate. The third estate consisted of around 27 million people
or 98% of the French population. Most of these people were peasants, living their lives as laborers,
working on farms, yet they were required to pay a large range of taxes this was seemingly unfair
considering their tireless occupation and hard lifestyle... Even the smaller percentage of the third
estate those who were urban workers and lived in cities such as Paris were poorly paid, lived in
difficult conditions and very bombarded by extreme food

Conflict Experiences
Conflict experiences; behaviors that are highly correlated with managing or resolving conflict.
Scenario 1. This reflection on the conflicts of the Executive Director terminating a team member who
I feel was not properly trained to performed or understand the job effectively. I supervise three paid
staff and ten to fifteen volunteers. This particular situation occurred on my day off from work. The
staff member did not get permission from his immediate supervisor to leave work. The Executive
Director (ED) realized the staff member present false information when asked about informing his
supervisor that he needed to leave work. The Human Resources Director (HRD), supervisor, staff
member, convened a meeting in the ED s office the next morning. The ED attempted to communicate
with the staff member by asking him (in a demeaning tone) if he called the supervisor, yesterday. The

The new Activity Assistant needed to take time off for a family emergency. The Activity Director

morning in the staff meeting the Activity Director informed the HR manager that the Activity
Assistant left without submitting the leave forms to the Activity Director for signature. The HR
manager, said, the Activity Assistant gave the form to the Executive Director and the forms were sign
and approved.
In my opinion, the behaviors that correlated with resolving conflict are not present in scenarios 1, 2
and 3. However, following behaviors are essential to resolving the above conflicts: ccommunication,
encouragement, goal sitting, compromise, forgiveness, compassion, and empathy, finding common
ground, and being an active listener without these components managing conflict could be

Protest Against The Chinese Communist Party
With thousands left wounded, a seemingly countless number of citizens reported dead, and a nation
left in shambles, the Tiananmen Square Massacre was an unforgettable and shocking event in Chinese
history. Its significance, however, lies not in the number of casualties but in the nobility of its
aspirations and the power of its legacy. The Chinese Communist Party claimed that the nation, of long
history and tradition, was better off following its own path of political dictatorship rather than shifting
towards Western influences such as constitutional democracy. However, through the Tiananmen
Square Massacre, it was revealed that the citizens longed for unification through democracy, freedom
and human rights. The massacre also exposed the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During Mao s time, he strongly stressed his principles of the Great Leap Forward and the Cultural
Revolution . However, due to these philosophies, China s economic and social foundations crumbled
and was severely damaged. The country was severely poor and economic production slowed. After
Mao passed away, Deng Xiaoping emerged as Mao s successor. He launched comprehensive
economic reforms. These reforms aimed to decrease the role of the state in the economy and gradually
introduce private forms of production in agriculture and industry. Because of these reforms,
production increased by leaps and bounds and poverty was reduced dramatically. However, there was
a problem that was arising. There was a lot of corruption and nepotism that was beginning to take over
the economy. The gap between the wealthy and poor was growing and people began to see it as unfair.
Government officials were divided over what direction they wanted to take the country. Reformers
pushed for political liberalization and a plurality of ideas while conservatives believed there was too
much reform and so greater state control was needed to ensure social stability to better align with
China s socialist ideals. These problems are what led to the protests of students and citizens. During
the time period in which the Tiananmen Square protests began, there were many viewpoints against
the government and their ideas. While

Challenges Faced By The Crowd Funding
CROWD FUNDING As a young Indian, I always want India to be filled with people of new
innovative, creative and productive ideas and thoughts. And I strongly believe that if these thoughts
can be made into actions with the advancements in Information technology, it can heal India s soaring
problems like unemployment, illiteracy to an extent. But recent reports on India s ease of doing
business rankings is very alarming. Even after 20 years of economic reforms, India slipped from 131st
position in 2013 to 134th position in 2014.Among BRICS countries, India is doing the worst. And
among the issues faced by Small, Medium Enterprises which includes startups, credit issues is a main
concern. In a recent secondary research done by me in finding credit issues of SMEs, results showed
that out of all SMEs, 92.77% have no finance or self finance. This has really affected the growth of
SMEs in India. Even after increase in number of venture capitalists/angel investors to protect new
ideas, this result shows that time has been exceeded to find a sustainable solution for this issue.
It is said that: The mob rushes in where individuals fear to tread by B.F. Skinner in Walden Two.This
has proved true, with the arrival of new idea of financing: Crowd Funding . Crowd funding is: the
collective cooperation, attention and trust by people who network and pool their money and other
resources together, usually via the internet to support

Pixar s Criticism Of Woody And Buzz In Toy Story
Menv s flexibility with additional programing and the animators greatly assisted in the process of
creating the final cut of the film while working with the criticisms. Interestingly, initial responses to
the early drafts of the film were quite negative. Isaacson accounts that earlier versions of the film
portrayed Woody and Buzz in a different manner than the Woody and Buzz in Toy Story today. From
these early screenings, the film and the Menv were changed accordingly to the criticisms for the
characters to be edgier . As the Menv was a self developed program, Pixar was able to create in house
hot fixes to the any problems or restrictions of the animation (Reeves). The technology was markedly

Even though the narrative may be sound, a lack of aesthetics would detract from the film itself if it did
not sufficiently support narrative and vice versa. According to Andrew Stanton, writing an animated
film is very different than writing a live action feature. A big difference is that you are writing for a
medium that is much more dependent on visuals not that film itself is isn t a very visual medium, I don
t want to shortchange that but there is definitely an understanding of what the strengths are in
animation for your entertainment dollar... The biggest thing is that it s a lot of pantomime... a lot of
visual metaphors (Neuwirth). Stanton s statement reiterates the importance of the complementary
intricacies of narrative and aesthetics. The technology must exist to produce the quality aesthetics for
an animated film, one especially demanding such as the fully computer animated Toy Story. One
cannot function effectively without the other. The genesis of Toy Story was one only possible through
the collective efforts of Lasseter s work and the innovative Menv program, financial backing by
Disney, and the friendly and engaging narrative. The cutting edge technology of the Menv enabled the
formulation of the elaborate aesthetics of animation. The masking of the innovative technology behind
the friendly aesthetics alleviated possible fears of the technology for the ultimate success and
enjoyment of Toy Story, marking the beginning of a fruitful career of Lasseter and success Disney

The Free Trade Area Of The Americas
The Free Trade Area of the Americas
Introduction
The Free Trade Area of the Americas agreement (FTAA), was first introduced in 1994 with intentions
of finalizing the deal by 2005. However, the agreement failed to pass due to the backlash of some of
the Latin American countries involved, especially Venezuela and its President of the time, Hugo
Chavez, who held a strong vocal opposition of the free trade agreement (The Defeat of the FTAA). In
this paper I will discuss the history of the FTAA, about how it started, why it did not happen, and if it
will be possible in the future. I will give my opinion on whether the FTAA will ever come back and if
the current free trade deals will help or hurt a possible resurgence of the FTAA.

Analysis Of A River Runs Through It By Norman Maclean
The natural world has a unique power unequivocal to anything human to make one deeply
contemplative, introspective, and observant of the universe around them. Norman Maclean testifies to
this power in his novella A River Runs Through It. Through his eulogy to the Blackfoot river Norman
Maclean captures the human soul and what it means to grow up, his story explaining how a river
affects a man. Robert Redford s movie adaptation, while maintaining the core importance of the
Blackfoot river, focuses on the interpersonal relationships Norman develops throughout his life and
how those affect his character and life choices. A River Runs through it encapsulates the emotional
growth Norman undergoes growing up via his relationship with the river ... Show more content on

For Maclean, the river was always highly personal he even refers to it as my family s river multiple
times demonstrating the profound effect it had on his upbringing. The deepest familial moments such
as Norman offering Paul help, discussing life plans, or Norman finding common ground with his
father, all occur while fishing on the Blackfoot or in transit to it.
Maclean also uses the rivers changing topography to reveal his emotions once he returns to Montana
from his time at Dartmouth, a much more metropolitan refined place. He writes, the family river
changed find that quote , and appears melancholy, but later comes to accept that things have changed
and time moves forward. Once again viewing the river as something of personal ownership reveals
Norman s own emotions about himself. He sees that the river and town has grown, with development
along the river altering its serenity but then he begins to accept the change (find quote) as part of the
cycle of growth and acceptance. Because he uses the river to represent himself, his long thoughts
about the industry developing symbolize norman s internal conflict returning to a very different
Missoula than the one he left. The moment he learns to accept that things change, like the town
becoming larger and more urban, and cannot be the same forever marks the peak of character growth.
Throughout the entire novella, these emotional changes are highlighted through metaphors involving

American Football Enforcing Rules
Are the NFL and NCAA enforcing rules that make American football TOO safe? Over the years these
organizations have gradually changed the way football is being played. The changes have mostly been
made to keep players safe and make the game less violent. With all these rule changes some people
think it is taking the fun away from the game. American Football has become a sport that is classified
as too soft compared to what it used to be. The way football is played has been thoroughly changed
over the years. Football used to be a sport where the defense was much more involved in many
different scenarios and stops. Nowadays you cannot tackle aiming for the chest, head, or just a
defenseless player in general, leading with the helmet of your gear. This rule is called targeting, and it
was implemented to the game in 2013. Many players and coaches believe that this rule has made
tackling too beneficial for the offense, as well as giving them a very safe field to play on. Since
football has been changed to become more of a game that the offense controls, there has been much
more scoring. Scoring gets the offense on each team on and off the field ... Show more content on

Since all these new rules are being enforced a number of times a referee calls a penalty in each game
has increased. Many people believe this makes the game less exciting because there aren t as many big
hits on offensive players in each game, something that the crowd would stand up and cheer for.
Generally, this slows down the defense giving them a much harder task in stopping the offense and is
disliked by many players. Players and coaches agree that referees call a penalty on almost any hard
hitting tackle, so the players are now being taught and coached differently than before. This alters their
playing style, keeping the game much safer. Referees have been calling too many penalties which are
resulting in games that are too

The Philosohpy of Immanuel Kant
Immanuel Kant is referred to as the father of deontological ethics, which is also colloquially referred
to as Kantianism, which provides a sophisticated explication of deontology. His philosophy embodies
capitulating to one s maxim, which he beliefs that to be good, however, only if one s motives are
unconditional and irrespective to external reason. The maxim is referred to as the individual s intrinsic
duty or obligation to one s self or to others, which if applicable to everyone than it is congenial to the

Mill believes in the praxis of pleasure to accumulate the zenith of happiness, but with the absent of
pain. Motivation is irrelevant when regarding morality, because the result of one s actions determines
the morality, which is why utilitarianism is often referred to as consequentialism. This philosophy is
synonymous to a democracy in the sense that the majority hold the moral weight, One should act so as
to promote the greatest happiness to the greatest number of those who will be affected by the act.
There are two parts which constitute pleasure by mills standards, intellectual and bodily. Bodily
pleasures are those that are stimulating to animals, because it does not involve the intellect. Humans,
however, have facilities that are more evolved than that of nonhumans, so the intellectual pleasures are
more appealing to humans. Intellectual pleasures are of more value than bodily. He compares the
stimulation from the intellectual pleasures to that of an ethereal plant, meaning that one can easily
adulterate the culmination of the aesthetic appreciation, due to societal influences

How Effective Were the Guerrilla Tactics of the Viet Cong
How effective were the guerrilla tactics of the Viet Cong History

The Viet Cong had many tactics which they used against the US and ARVN troops in the Vietnam

The Viet Cong also thought of backup tactics. These included secure sanctuaries for times when the
war might go badly. These were very effective as when the US troops outnumbered the Viet Cong they
could retreat to a hiding spot to then launch an ambush.
Also the Viet Cong were made up of people from all around South Vietnam. This made it easier for
the Viet Cong to gain trust from people as many of the South Vietnamese people knew at least one
person fighting for the Viet Cong. (Edexcel GCSE, History Controlled Assessment, CA5 Vietnam
1960 75). They were also nice to the South Vietnamese people unlike the US troops. With this
advantage the Viet Cong used the South Vietnamese people as intelligence spies, to gather information
about the enemy US troops without them suspecting a thing. This worked well for the Viet Cong as
the US troops wouldn t be able to recognise any Vietnamese people who were working for the Viet
Cong, which meant that the Viet Cong could keep on finding out crucial information about the enemy
without needing to capture any opposition fighters.
In conclusion, I believe that the guerrilla tactics of the Viet Cong were much superior to those of the
US troops as they were more adapted to the Vietnamese environment whereas the US tactics could not
be put fully into action, and the fact that the Viet Cong knew their environment more compared to the
US was a dominant

Common Ethical Dilemmas Faced in Nursing
Nursing can have its ups and its downs; however, most of its problems occur when nurses are faced
with ethical decisions. Pro Life vs. Pro Choice, Freedom vs. Control, Truth vs. Deception, and
Knowledge vs. personal beliefs are all part of the problem. We live in a world where there seems to be
contriversy about everything. Nursing is a very important field where there has to be good
communication and great care, any hiccups in this could affect the whole work place. So what happens
when you re a nurse and you are placed in a big ethical dielemma.
FINDINGS
Pro Life Vs. Pro Choice
According to Merriam Webster s dictionary, Pro Choice means Believing that pregnant women should
have to right to choose abortion (Pro Choice). The definition of Pro Life is opposed of abortion (Pro
Life). Both words begin quite the argument in today s society.
What is Pro Life and Pro Choice
Over the years many nurses, men and women, have come face to face with situations regarding ethical
dilemmas one of which being the ever so popular argument of Pro choice vs. Pro life. Going into a job
in health care you are going to see things that may not sit well with you and many students going into
the nursing field have gone in with the mind set of being pro choice. In Jeff Lane Hensley s book, The

Everyday someone has devised a new idea and every day that someone hopes to enlist his beliefs into

Analysis of She Walks in Beauty by Lord Byron Essay
Analysis of She Walks in Beauty by Lord Byron She Walks in Beauty is a poem in which the author
speaks of the physical beauty of a woman; a female who the author encountered. This encounter lead
him to visualize a great distinct physical image of her so he began to speak of this phenomenal
attractiveness. A special quality in her was being able to be identified with the heaven. Beautiful like
the stars and clearly visible as a cloudless night. The poem ?She Walks in Beauty? came by as an
inspiration to the author. This occurred at an event attended by the author where he meet his cousin
which is the woman the author speaks about in the poem. The author lord Byron wrote this poem
which is found in the Hebrew Melodies. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Necessary Physical Contant in D.H. Lawrence s Women in Love and Plato s Symposium D.H.
Lawrence s novel, Women in Love, presents a complex model of female male and male male
relationships. Lawrence s model relies heavily on a similar model presented in Plato s Symposium.
The difference between the two works lies in the mode of realization; that is, how one goes about
achieving a perfect love relationship with either sex. Lawrence concentrates on corporal fulfillment,
characterized in his recurring reference to obtaining a blood oath, while Plato concentrates on a
mental, or divine bond. Lawrence s concentration on corporal fulfillment of love only superficially
differs from Plato s concentration on the mind: both come to the ... Show more content on

This interpretation does not draw a distinct enough line between Plato and Lawrence s philosophies:
whereas the dark flood of electric passion may be transcendental, the connection itself, rooted solely
within corporal exchange, is not. Lawrence narrates that the strange fountains of Birkin s body are
more mysterious and potent than any she had imagined or known, more satisfying, ah, finally,
mystically physically satisfying (359). The mysteriousness of this connection is how, in touch, the
body functions to bring about the maximum of unspeakable communication ... that can never be
transmuted into mind content ... the mystic body of reality (366). Lawrence is stating that the body
functions much like the soul in Plato s philosophy in that both are mystic. Lawrence s description of
bodily exchange being mystically physically satisfying conveys that both the mind and body are
inextricably linked: the body is needed to establish a mental connection. That mental connection is
explained when Ursula describes to Hermione that Birkin wants [her] to accept him non emotionally,
and, He wants [her] to accept him as ... an absolute (333). In other words, Lawrence s view of a
perfect union comprises of two human beings accepting each other as they are: neither has to conform
to the other: they exist as separate and distinct entities. When their love is finally consummated,
Lawrence states that [Ursula] acquiesced but it was accomplished without her

The Importance Of Bilingual Education
The number of language minority children in the public schools have increased tremendously over the
last ten years. Bilingual Education has continued to grow relentlessly. The number of children who
have enrolled in dual language (DL) programs only continues to increase. Truly though, are DL
teachers ready to teach children in bilingual classrooms? Have these teachers received the appropriate
training so that their instruction would work effectively for the bilingual children? According to Baker,
the outcome of the staff professional development program should benefit the teachers by increasing
their understanding of second language acquisition and developing effective curriculum approaches in
teaching language minority students as well being aware of the students language and cultural
background (Baker, 2011). In the article Dual Language Teachers Use of conventional, environmental,
and personal resources to support academic language development, Lucero carefully considers the DL
teachers instructional practices with their potential to improve bilingual academic language outcomes
for students. Since the allocation of resources is a significant factor impacting teacher instructional
practices, this aspect is divided into three common types of resources composed of the conventional,
environmental, and personal areas. Conventional resources involve curriculum, facilities, teacher
certification, plus professional development sessions. Environmental

How Is Hamlet Aristotelian Tragic Hero
Shakespeare s play, Hamlet, centers around Hamlet s contemplation of killing his uncle in order to
avenge his father s death. Hamlet s decisions and values come into play in determining his fate.
However, Hamlet s intended action to avenge his father s death, rather his motivation, falls short due
to his moral dilemma. Overall, Hamlet s actions and values work together to create a connection
between Hamlet s state of mind and the condition of Denmark as well as, epitomize him as an
Aristotelian tragic hero. At the same time, his motivation is at odds with his need to bring justified
order to the kingdom.
Shakespeare s Hamlet fits the definition the Aristotelian tragic hero. This archetype is shown through
Hamlet s values and actions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hamlet believes that he will not be doing his father justice if he kills Claudius after he is forgiven of
his sins. He goes on to say, To take him in the purging of his soul / When he is fit and seasoned for his
passage?... / Up, sword, and know thou a more horrid hent (1659 3.3). Not taking advantage of the
opportunity, Hamlet once again falls short in fulfilling his vow to his father. Although, Hamlet is given
a perfect opportunity to kill Claudius, his tendency to constantly reflect on the situation and whether
he should kill Claudius or not is often delayed. Hamlet s constant contemplation becomes his major
flaw, delaying him from killing Claudius. This flaw is yet another aspect of Aristotle s definition of a
tragic hero. Another element of the Aristotelian tragic hero is the reversal of fate, rather a change for
the worse. Hamlet s continuous delay in killing Claudius determines an alternative course for his fate.
He has the potential to claim the throne, restore order in the kingdom, and keep his family in power of
the nation. However, these outcomes are only possible if Hamlet can execute his plan with swiftness.
Thus, Hamlet reverses his fate by procrastinating in avenging his father s death. Instead, Hamlet
spends most of the play in devising a plan that allows him to take the throne without having to face
punishment for killing Claudius. While Claudius is swift in plotting and carrying out his actions
against Hamlet, Hamlet often puts off his duty to

Duality Of Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde
Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, by Robert Louis Stevenson in 1886, is a very peculiar
thriller which tells the story of a lawyer from London, named Gabriel John Utterson who investigates
a series of strange occurrences between one of his old friends, Dr. Henry Jekyll and the evil Edward
Hyde.
Robert Louis Stevenson believed that every human in this world have both good and evil within, and
therefore he decided to write a book that shows this duality of mankind in the form of an allegorical
story. However, the duality of mankind isn t the only important theme in this book since Stevenson
also wanted to criticize the Victorian Era, especially the city of London during the Victorian Era.

indication of this is that Dr. Jekyll always enjoyed doing evil things, even though his consciousness
was troubling him whenever he did these evil acts, which lead to Dr. Jekyll separating the good and
bad parts of him and thus creating Mr. Hyde. In doing so, he showed how every person is affected by
two personalities which balance each other out, kind of like Yin and Yang. When he separated these to
personalities, there was nothing to keep his bad side in check and therefore it ran loose without

Should Nuclear Waste Be Stored In South Australia
Should nuclear waste be stored in South Australia?
Should we be letting the rest of the world use our backyard as a dump for nuclear waste? South
Australia is considering to build a nuclear waste dump which would ultimately hold 13% of the
worlds high level nuclear waste. Currently this waste is being held around the world in different
locations, i agree this is not a permanent solution but neither is burying it in the ground. I don t agree
that we should be building a nuclear waste dump in South Australia but instead putting our time and
money towards something more renewable would be a better investment. Nor is it necessary because
in thirty years the world will run on renewable energy.
We are forgetting the crucial what if question. What if there was a radiation leak in the containers that
the waste was transported in, what if radiation was exposed all over South Australia, maybe even
spreading to other states. Taking into consideration the potential risk of radiation across our
community and eco systems. Radiation is a deadly disease that weakens and breaks up DNA, either

The Crime Of White Collar Crime
Crime is such a general word, and describes a whole conundrum of activities that are seen as unlawful.
The oxford dictionary defines crime as an action of omission which constitutes an offence and is
punishable by law . There are many different types of crimes, and they are classified based on the
seriousness of the crime. Minor crimes/offences, for example a traffic offence, are called
misdemeanors. More serious crimes, like murder, are called felonies and are punishable by more than
a year in prison. When people hear the word crime, they most often associate it with a dangerous,
violent act. There are crimes that are not violent in nature, but are still considered criminal acts
because of their nature and their purpose. White collar crime is one of those types of crimes that are
non violent but have a great impact on its victims.
What is White Collar Crime?
White collar crime is generally identified as non violent crimes that public officials and business
people commit predominantly for their own personal gain . Edwin Sutherland came up with the term
white collar crime to explain the crimes that both middle class and upper class people committed in
the course of their business activities. White collar crime is so often neglected as crime, that many
people don t even consider it as a crime until they are the victims. People don t understand that the
effects of white collar crime are much higher than other crimes. If we look at it from a monetary
perspective, the costs

The Negative Personality Of Albert Einstein
THE CREATIVE PERSONALITY OF ALBERT EINSTEIN
He is renown as the Father of solid state Physics , the famous 20th century scientist and a symbol of
intellectual independence and leadership (Cardona, 2005). Albert Einstein the Jewish mathematician
and physicist was born on March 14,1879 at Ulm, in Württemberg, Germany. He is acclaimed for his
theories in physics specifically the theory of special relativity, the general theory of relativity and the
photoelectric effect (Howell, 2017). His special relativity theory summarised in the equation E=mc2 is
widely known even among those who don t understand physics. It s these theories that earned him the
international accreditation and acclaim in physics as the Nobel Prize winner in 1921(Parker 2007).
According to the 4P s of creativity, the press which is the external (structural) social environment one
grows up in largely contributes to one accessing information contained in a given domain
(Csikszentmihalyi, 1988). This is clearly demonstrated in Einstein s early life. His father and uncle
were engineers who ran a company that made electrical equipment based on direct current (Howell,
2017), thus he was exposed to so much the factual knowledge and underlying principles and tenets of
physics, machines and equipment s at his father s workshop.
Second to this is his personality, the internal (subjective) factors that triggers creativity according to
(Csikszentmihalyi 2014). Einstein was very curios and inquisitive by nature. The

BCS National Championship Team. He was drafted by the New England Patriots in 2010, where he
became the youngest active player on any roster in the NFL. He seemed destined for greatness, as one
of only two tight end players on one of the leading teams in the NFL. During the 2010 season, he was

and by his third year with the NFL he received the highest signing bonus of NFL tight end in history.

and began using drugs. These lifestyle choices almost prevented him from attaining success as an
athlete. Despite his obvious talents, NFL teams were wary of drafting Hernandez due to his admitted
flunking of a drug test. Privately, many teams also worried about his association with gang types from
his home neighborhood. He fell to the fourth round in the 2010 NFL draft before the New England
Patriots selected him with the 113th overall pick (Bio, 2015).
Professional Career Once drafted, Hernandez quickly proved his merit as a professional football
player. He had 45 catches in his rookie year, which was a team record for tight ends, helping the
Patriots secure the AFC Championship. In his second year, along with Rob Gronkowski, he led the
Patriot offense with 24 touchdowns and 2,237 receiving yards, helping secure his team s position in
Super Bowl XLVI. He was injured in his third year, but was still positioned to become a team leader,
which was recognized by the Patriots with his sizable signing bonus (A E, 2015).
Legal Problems Although he would not be indicted for murder until 2013, Hernandez s legal problems
began as early as 2007, while he was still a student at the University of Florida. It was then that
Hernandez was first prosecuted for a violent crime. An underage

The Widespread Adoption Of Information Technology Essay
The widespread adoption of information technology (IT) has resulted in significant savings in health
care costs as well as improved patient health and safety. Today in healthcare facilities, databases store
records that can be accessed from anywhere in the world. This results in better data coordination and
management (Banova, 2013). The benefits of increased use of IT continues to grow as leaders in the
field of medicine create innovative ways to use IT to improve the business and health care side of
medicine. IT has increased the efficiency and decreased the cost of doing business. This leads to
dollars and an increase in overall patient quality which is critical with the changes in the
reimbursement models from CMS ( Benefits of Healthcare , 2015).
The city of San Diego as the need and push for IT implementation has grown made a large technology
investment and created a health information exchange (HIE). San Diego Health Connect began in
efforts to improve healthcare in the San Diego community spearheaded by the University of
California. In April 2010, UC San Diego received a grant from the Office of the National Coordinator
for Health Information Technology (ONC) on behalf of the community. They named this the Beacon
community. The HIE is a vast network of healthcare providers and social services ( San Diego Health
Connect , 2015).
The HIE quickly grew membership and the participation of the major health systems in San Diego and

The Chamber Of Commerce V. Whiting
Alexandra Kulak Issue Analysis Chamber of Commerce v. Whiting 10.24.2014 Chamber of
Commerce v. Whiting was a Supreme Court decision regarding the Legal Arizona Workers Act, which
penalized businesses and proprietors in Arizona that hired illegal immigrants, and required that
businesses check the citizenship status of their potential employees using the e verify system. Various
civil rights groups as well as businesses, collectively titled Chamber of Commerce , claimed the
federal Immigration Reform and Control Act preempted these statutes in the Arizona law. The state
law was upheld in 2011. Immigration is a contentious issue in politics that seems to be stagnating.
There is a massive population of illegal immigrants, and some people feel they should be granted
amnesty, while others think they should all be deported back to their respective home countries. The
question of how to handle their American born children is another issue altogether. There are many
moral questions to consider. It is controversial, and some state laws, like the one in question in this
court case, raise more questions about how to handle the problem of illegal immigrants and legal
immigrants vying for the same opportunities. The Chamber of Commerce sued the Governor of
Arizona, on the grounds that the statues in the Arizona state law went beyond what the federal law in

The Coward In Act Of Solitude By Joyce Carol Oates
A coward is defined as someone who lacks the courage to take action, a person who is unwilling to do

He is a man unwilling to do the right thing or do anything at all because he is afraid of the

Benjamin Jonson And The American Revolution
Throughout the 16th and 17th centuries, Europe experienced a cultural revolution that would
ultimately transform thinking for years to come. In particular, this revolution was known as the
Renaissance. While most of this Renaissance way of thinking remained contained in countries such as
Germany and Italy, some of it began to diffuse into the heart of England itself, more precisely
Westminster. Westminster, England, a central city within the London area, is most known for the
elaborate palace in which the Royal Family lives. However, during the Renaissance, this city also gave
birth to one of history s few literary innovators: Benjamin Jonson. Through Jonson s influential works
in drama, poetry, and literature, Ben Jonson became one of the most influential authors of the early
17th century. Benjamin Jonson, who is most known for the popularization of the comedy of humors
was born in Westminster, England on June 11, 1572. He comes from a line of Anglo Scottish border
people, who historically have had trouble with the English since the beginning of time. Johnson s
father was a clergyman who died in his early childhood and as a result of this, his mother eventually
remarried to a master bricklayer or mason in today s terms. Jonson attend school first at St. Martin s
Lane, one of London s most prestigious secondary schools. He later went on to attend Westminster

Analysis Of Lee s Speech On Self Identity
Self identity is, perhaps, society s most important component. It s the element that differentiates each
and every individual from a collective group to create diversity. In a metaphysical sense it answers the
question Who am I? for each individual. Despite the fact that self identity is one of the building blocks
of the human psyche, it is not permanent nor solid. Decreased social interaction and doubt of one s
role in society are two of the most common cases for a loss of self identity, while life milestones are
the leading cause behind the fluidity of identities. Lee s Native Speaker approaches changes in internal
identity through character s interaction with language in society. As I will demonstrate, Ahjumah and
Pete Ichibata are cast as the primary devices to convey these transformations as one is near absent of
language and the other is an artist with language. In other words, in Native Speaker, Chang Rae Lee
uses Ahjumah and Pete Ichibata to elucidate that language is the medium that establishes, destroys,
and transcends people s self identity in society. Ahjumah s lack of interaction with languages leaves
her absent of identity symbolizing the loss of self identity. Ahjumah s lack of interaction with
language is made apparent quite early in the novel when Henry begins recounting her description: he
says, she spoke only when it mattered or when something needed to be done, or requested, or
acknowledged (Lee 64). Lee is using Henry and Ahjumah s lack of

This has happened because during World War II, both the Nazis and the Communists deliberately

reduce social classes. They tried to better education, economic and educational advancement of the
lower class and workers. (Erdmann, 1998) With the government being successful in creating industrial

Poland: peasants, workers, nobles, the ruling group, and middle class. (Erdmann, 1998) The workers

Having established the National Education Commission in 1770, Poland has a tradition of formal

Big Five Personality Traits
One of the aspects of the personality theory is the Big Five Personality traits. Those traits are:
extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism and openness. Each of these traits have
been studied by many experts and defined based on the behaviors and attitudes that are attributed to
most people. There are no absolutes meaning that just because most people who display a certain
characteristic are effective leaders, does not mean that everybody who has that trait is an effective
leader (Dziak, 2017). This paper will break down each of the Big Five traits and talk about their role
in leadership. Agreeableness is defined as being kind and caring. Agreeable people tend to display
sympathy and affection in various situations and usually find productive ways to deal with problems.
Agreeable people also are more generous and forgiving (Dziak, 2017). As a leader, there will be times
when the organization will face shortcomings or there are internal problems ... Show more content on

Extraverted people are friendly, talk more in social situations, and are fueled by being around other
people (Dziak, 2017). When someone is in charge of something, they should also be passionate about
it. If the leader does not care why should anybody else? Most leaders are energetic and sociable. It is
an important trait to get people excited about your product. Most organization and companies require
people to spend their time or money on their product. Even something like Facebook, which is free,
requires people to spend time on its platform. Being assertive does not mean being in your face or
overbearing, which often turns people off, but someone can be assertive in a non offensive way by
being passionate. People need other people in some form or fashion to be successful, so it is important
to treat people respectfully so that they would want to do business with you or buy your

Why I Apply To College
Academics have pushed me through life unlike I would have ever thought. Every day, I try to impress
myself and, although some days I fall just short, I usually end up making myself proud in one way or
another. A phrase I repeat to myself frequently is you learn something new every day . This phrase
means a lot to me, as learning something new every day makes me a better individual. My goal in life
is to use academics to the best of my ability and to never suffice for anything less than greatness, and I
hope to enhance this goal in college.
One of the biggest reasons I am applying to college, besides it being a conventional rite of passage in
life, is because I will be a first generation student. I consider it an absolute honor to have the prestige
of going to college first. In doing such, I aim not only to set the bar, but set it high. I hope to do this by
achieving nothing less than greatness in college as it not only makes me ... Show more content on

While I do appreciate numbers and their role in society, I believe the world relies too much on
statistical inference in a fashion similar to linear regression: what is done now can be interpolated, or
analyzed on the basis of today, not extrapolated, or forecast for the future. If we were all judged on our
numbers now, there would be nothing else extemporaneous to think about us for the future. Numbers
can change. I might look ordinary on the facade, but I find that I might offer something extraordinary.
What I offer might not be evident now, but with further experience and knowledge, my extraordinary
qualities could be revealed. My numbers and criterion now may have some pertinence to my future
success, but they could also be entirely irrelevant. It is only a matter of those who I am around and
what I am potentially allowed to achieve to quite possibly unravel my extraordinary facets underneath
an ordinary facade. That is as contingent on me as it is

Snowfall On Mars
Mars has been a planet scientists have been interested in for many reasons, for many years. In Mars
has nighttime snow storms , Ashley Yeager furthers her studies on Mars by focusing on the possibility
of night time snow on Mars. Yeager explains how snowfall on Mars could even occur through
scientific evidence.
Yeager states that satellites showed that snow covered the Martian poles in 2008 and
NASA s Pheonix lander detected snow falling below a nighttime water ice cloud in 2008. This also
being the first time scientist have seen snowfall on Mars. According to Eager in the beginning scientist
had believed that snowfall occurred the same way it did on Earth; however, the gravity and water
vapor on Mars compared to Earth doesn t match up. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Their findings showed that fast falling snow could occur on cold nights. Unlike on Earth when water
ice particles grow into the snow and then fall, low temperature cool water ice clouds, creating strong
winds that push water ice crystals toward the ground, creating fast falling snow.
Yeager had a clear objective and enough evidence to back up her findings, while also leaving room for
scientists to continue researching. Each statement was backed up with enough scientific evidence for a
reader to understand the purpose of the article. For example, she broke down how the snow being able
to fall at the same speed it does on Earth, through another scientist research. There was no quantitative
or qualitative data because all the data was research based and no need for statistical analysis. I don t
believe Yeager could ve done anything else to make this article better. She provided enough
information to support her objective while still allowing the research to continue for other scientists. A
reader who came across would have to do further research on how snowfall could occur on Mars
unless they wanted a deeper explanation. The use of the internet was helpful since that is how I found

Cerebral Isolation Using Word Processing
Cerebral Isolation Using Word Processing
Bianca Barreto
Texas Tech University Abstract
In general, the brain is thought to be lateralized with the two hemispheres having control of the
opposite side of the body and their own functionalities. In this case, the left hemisphere dominates in
language and verbal capabilities controlling the right side of the body including the right visual field.
Using this fact and the difference in visual fields, subjects were asked to focus on a flashing screen
with a pulsating plus sign. Vertically oriented words would flash on either the left or right side of the
plus sign in order to isolate individual hemispheres. The time to correctly identify the words was
recorded and compared between the left and right visual fields as well as between males and females.
In this case, there was a significant difference between visual fields with the right side being
significantly faster at processing words. In addition, males showed greater differences between visual
fields when compared to females. These findings suggest that the right hemisphere is more selective in
word processing and that males are more lateralized than females. Cerebral Isolation Using Word
Processing Insufficient information is known about how words are processed by the brain. Within the
scientific community, the brain is believed to be lateralized (Tucha, Aschenbrenner, Lange, 2000). In
this case, the left hemisphere controls the right side of the body and the

  • 2. Egalitarianism And The French Revolution Egalitarianism. It is the belief that all people are and should be the treated similarly despite age, gender, race and social or political status. It is the trend of thought that all people are equal and states that everyone should be handled with the same opportunities in life despite their differences. It s a popular idea in liberalism: The political philosophy founded on liberty and equality that supports civil freedom and egalitarianism s basic idea is that everyone has the same fundamental worth. A King can t be worth more than a peasant... In power and politics: yes but in terms of vitality, they are both simply human. And, while it may seem that egalitarianism is most prominent now in the 21st century, the concept actually originated in France back in 1799 as its original format equalitarian . This awareness was established through the French Revolution between 1789 and 1799 which fashioned the doctrine that all humanity is equal. Egalitarianism was one distinct idea that shaped the French Revolution as it went through its various phases of Liberty, equality, and fraternity! : the revolutions three base concepts. The need for egalitarianism in France came from the uneven and unfair regime between the aristocrats or second estate and the third estate. The third estate consisted of around 27 million people or 98% of the French population. Most of these people were peasants, living their lives as laborers, working on farms, yet they were required to pay a large range of taxes this was seemingly unfair considering their tireless occupation and hard lifestyle... Even the smaller percentage of the third estate those who were urban workers and lived in cities such as Paris were poorly paid, lived in difficult conditions and very bombarded by extreme food ... This reflection on the conflicts of the Executive Director terminating a team member who I feel was not properly trained to performed or understand the job effectively. The staff member did not get permission from his immediate supervisor to leave work. The Executive Director (ED) realized the staff member present false information when asked about informing his supervisor that he needed to leave work. The Human Resources Director (HRD), supervisor, staff member, convened a meeting in the ED s office the next morning. • 4. Protest Against The Chinese Communist Party With thousands left wounded, a seemingly countless number of citizens reported dead, and a nation left in shambles, the Tiananmen Square Massacre was an unforgettable and shocking event in Chinese history. Its significance, however, lies not in the number of casualties but in the nobility of its aspirations and the power of its legacy. The Chinese Communist Party claimed that the nation, of long history and tradition, was better off following its own path of political dictatorship rather than shifting towards Western influences such as constitutional democracy. However, through the Tiananmen Square Massacre, it was revealed that the citizens longed for unification through democracy, freedom and human rights. The massacre also exposed the ... However, due to these philosophies, China s economic and social foundations crumbled and was severely damaged. The country was severely poor and economic production slowed. After Mao passed away, Deng Xiaoping emerged as Mao s successor. He launched comprehensive economic reforms. These reforms aimed to decrease the role of the state in the economy and gradually introduce private forms of production in agriculture and industry. Because of these reforms, production increased by leaps and bounds and poverty was reduced dramatically. However, there was a problem that was arising. There was a lot of corruption and nepotism that was beginning to take over the economy. The gap between the wealthy and poor was growing and people began to see it as unfair. Government officials were divided over what direction they wanted to take the country. Reformers pushed for political liberalization and a plurality of ideas while conservatives believed there was too much reform and so greater state control was needed to ensure social stability to better align with China s socialist ideals. These problems are what led to the protests of students and citizens. And I strongly believe that if these thoughts can be made into actions with the advancements in Information technology, it can heal India s soaring problems like unemployment, illiteracy to an extent. But recent reports on India s ease of doing business rankings is very alarming. Even after 20 years of economic reforms, India slipped from 131st position in 2013 to 134th position in 2014.Among BRICS countries, India is doing the worst. And among the issues faced by Small, Medium Enterprises which includes startups, credit issues is a main concern. In a recent secondary research done by me in finding credit issues of SMEs, results showed that out of all SMEs, 92.77% have no finance or self finance. This has really affected the growth of SMEs in India. Even after increase in number of venture capitalists/angel investors to protect new ideas, this result shows that time has been exceeded to find a sustainable solution for this issue. It is said that: The mob rushes in where individuals fear to tread by B.F. Skinner in Walden Two.This has proved true, with the arrival of new idea of financing: Crowd Funding . Pixar s Criticism Of Woody And Buzz In Toy Story Menv s flexibility with additional programing and the animators greatly assisted in the process of creating the final cut of the film while working with the criticisms. Interestingly, initial responses to the early drafts of the film were quite negative. Isaacson accounts that earlier versions of the film portrayed Woody and Buzz in a different manner than the Woody and Buzz in Toy Story today. From these early screenings, the film and the Menv were changed accordingly to the criticisms for the characters to be edgier . Even though the narrative may be sound, a lack of aesthetics would detract from the film itself if it did not sufficiently support narrative and vice versa. According to Andrew Stanton, writing an animated film is very different than writing a live action feature. A big difference is that you are writing for a medium that is much more dependent on visuals not that film itself is isn t a very visual medium, I don t want to shortchange that but there is definitely an understanding of what the strengths are in animation for your entertainment dollar... The biggest thing is that it s a lot of pantomime... a lot of visual metaphors (Neuwirth). Stanton s statement reiterates the importance of the complementary intricacies of narrative and aesthetics. The technology must exist to produce the quality aesthetics for an animated film, one especially demanding such as the fully computer animated Toy Story. One cannot function effectively without the other. The genesis of Toy Story was one only possible through the collective efforts of Lasseter s work and the innovative Menv program, financial backing by Disney, and the friendly and engaging narrative. The cutting edge technology of the Menv enabled the formulation of the elaborate aesthetics of animation. The masking of the innovative technology behind the friendly aesthetics alleviated possible fears of the technology for the ultimate success and enjoyment of Toy Story, marking the beginning of a fruitful career of Lasseter and success Disney Pixar s animated ... • 9. The Free Trade Area Of The Americas The Free Trade Area of the Americas Introduction The Free Trade Area of the Americas agreement (FTAA), was first introduced in 1994 with intentions of finalizing the deal by 2005. However, the agreement failed to pass due to the backlash of some of the Latin American countries involved, especially Venezuela and its President of the time, Hugo Chavez, who held a strong vocal opposition of the free trade agreement (The Defeat of the FTAA). In this paper I will discuss the history of the FTAA, about how it started, why it did not happen, and if it will be possible in the future. I will give my opinion on whether the FTAA will ever come back and if the current free trade deals will help or hurt a possible resurgence of the FTAA. He writes, the family river changed find that quote , and appears melancholy, but later comes to accept that things have changed and time moves forward. Once again viewing the river as something of personal ownership reveals Norman s own emotions about himself. • 12. American Football Enforcing Rules Are the NFL and NCAA enforcing rules that make American football TOO safe? Over the years these organizations have gradually changed the way football is being played. The changes have mostly been made to keep players safe and make the game less violent. With all these rule changes some people think it is taking the fun away from the game. American Football has become a sport that is classified as too soft compared to what it used to be. The way football is played has been thoroughly changed over the years. Football used to be a sport where the defense was much more involved in many different scenarios and stops. Nowadays you cannot tackle aiming for the chest, head, or just a defenseless player in general, leading with the helmet of your gear. This rule is called targeting, and it was implemented to the game in 2013. Many players and coaches believe that this rule has made tackling too beneficial for the offense, as well as giving them a very safe field to play on. Since football has been changed to become more of a game that the offense controls, there has been much more scoring. Scoring gets the offense on each team on and off the field ... This made it easier for the Viet Cong to gain trust from people as many of the South Vietnamese people knew at least one person fighting for the Viet Cong. With this advantage the Viet Cong used the South Vietnamese people as intelligence spies, to gather information about the enemy US troops without them suspecting a thing. This worked well for the Viet Cong as the US troops wouldn t be able to recognise any Vietnamese people who were working for the Viet Cong, which meant that the Viet Cong could keep on finding out crucial information about the enemy without needing to capture any opposition fighters. In conclusion, I believe that the guerrilla tactics of the Viet Cong were much superior to those of the US troops as they were more adapted to the Vietnamese environment whereas the US tactics could not be put fully into action, and the fact that the Viet Cong knew their environment more compared to the US was a dominant ... Lawrence s novel, Women in Love, presents a complex model of female male and male male relationships. Lawrence s model relies heavily on a similar model presented in Plato s Symposium. The difference between the two works lies in the mode of realization; that is, how one goes about achieving a perfect love relationship with either sex. Not taking advantage of the opportunity, Hamlet once again falls short in fulfilling his vow to his father. Although, Hamlet is given a perfect opportunity to kill Claudius, his tendency to constantly reflect on the situation and whether he should kill Claudius or not is often delayed. Hamlet s constant contemplation becomes his major flaw, delaying him from killing Claudius. This flaw is yet another aspect of Aristotle s definition of a tragic hero. Another element of the Aristotelian tragic hero is the reversal of fate, rather a change for the worse. Hamlet s continuous delay in killing Claudius determines an alternative course for his fate. He has the potential to claim the throne, restore order in the kingdom, and keep his family in power of the nation. However, these outcomes are only possible if Hamlet can execute his plan with swiftness. Thus, Hamlet reverses his fate by procrastinating in avenging his father s death. Westminster, England, a central city within the London area, is most known for the elaborate palace in which the Royal Family lives. However, during the Renaissance, this city also gave birth to one of history s few literary innovators: Benjamin Jonson. Through Jonson s influential works in drama, poetry, and literature, Ben Jonson became one of the most influential authors of the early 17th century. Benjamin Jonson, who is most known for the popularization of the comedy of humors was born in Westminster, England on June 11, 1572. He comes from a line of Anglo Scottish border people, who historically have had trouble with the English since the beginning of time. Johnson s father was a clergyman who died in his early childhood and as a result of this, his mother eventually remarried to a master bricklayer or mason in today s terms. Jonson attend school first at St. Martin s Lane, one of London s most prestigious secondary schools. He later went on to attend Westminster School here is where he met historian William Camden. • 38. Analysis Of Lee s Speech On Self Identity Self identity is, perhaps, society s most important component. It s the element that differentiates each and every individual from a collective group to create diversity. In a metaphysical sense it answers the question Who am I? for each individual. Despite the fact that self identity is one of the building blocks of the human psyche, it is not permanent nor solid. Decreased social interaction and doubt of one s role in society are two of the most common cases for a loss of self identity, while life milestones are the leading cause behind the fluidity of identities. Lee s Native Speaker approaches changes in internal identity through character s interaction with language in society. As I will demonstrate, Ahjumah and Pete Ichibata are cast as the primary devices to convey these transformations as one is near absent of language and the other is an artist with language. In other words, in Native Speaker, Chang Rae Lee uses Ahjumah and Pete Ichibata to elucidate that language is the medium that establishes, destroys, and transcends people s self identity in society. Ahjumah s lack of interaction with languages leaves her absent of identity symbolizing the loss of self identity. Ahjumah s lack of interaction with language is made apparent quite early in the novel when Henry begins recounting her description: he says, she spoke only when it mattered or when something needed to be done, or requested, or acknowledged (Lee 64). Lee is using Henry and Ahjumah s lack of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Having established the National Education Commission in 1770, Poland has a tradition of formal schooling. Education suffered after the country was separated by war and the higher powers tried to impose their culture and language on the Polish, but the Germans devoted the most attention to education and, by 1911, illiteracy had been eliminated in their territory. In the Russian areas, schools were very few and children were taught in Russian, which made the Polish native tongue treated as a foreign language. With the establishment of independence in 1918, there was a combined effort to educate the population. By 1939, illiteracy had been reduced by 12 percent and was less than 1 percent in 2000. Those traits are: extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism and openness. Each of these traits have been studied by many experts and defined based on the behaviors and attitudes that are attributed to most people. There are no absolutes meaning that just because most people who display a certain characteristic are effective leaders, does not mean that everybody who has that trait is an effective leader (Dziak, 2017). This paper will break down each of the Big Five traits and talk about their role in leadership. Agreeableness is defined as being kind and caring. Agreeable people tend to display sympathy and affection in various situations and usually find productive ways to deal with problems. My goal in life is to use academics to the best of my ability and to never suffice for anything less than greatness, and I hope to enhance this goal in college. One of the biggest reasons I am applying to college, besides it being a conventional rite of passage in life, is because I will be a first generation student. What I offer might not be evident now, but with further experience and knowledge, my extraordinary qualities could be revealed. My numbers and criterion now may have some pertinence to my future success, but they could also be entirely irrelevant. • 49. Cerebral Isolation Using Word Processing Cerebral Isolation Using Word Processing Bianca Barreto Texas Tech University Abstract In general, the brain is thought to be lateralized with the two hemispheres having control of the opposite side of the body and their own functionalities. In this case, the left hemisphere dominates in language and verbal capabilities controlling the right side of the body including the right visual field. Using this fact and the difference in visual fields, subjects were asked to focus on a flashing screen with a pulsating plus sign. Vertically oriented words would flash on either the left or right side of the plus sign in order to isolate individual hemispheres. The time to correctly identify the words was recorded and compared between the left and right visual fields as well as between males and females. In this case, there was a significant difference between visual fields with the right side being significantly faster at processing words. In addition, males showed greater differences between visual fields when compared to females. These findings suggest that the right hemisphere is more selective in word processing and that males are more lateralized than females. Cerebral Isolation Using Word Processing Insufficient information is known about how words are processed by the brain. Within the scientific community, the brain is believed to be lateralized (Tucha, Aschenbrenner, Lange, 2000). In this case, the left hemisphere controls the right side of the body and the ...
