Timeless Songs
Historical musicology and social trends hold either the key to unlocking the secret of a timeless song, or the supposition that perhaps timeless songs are
serendipitous or without a measurable cause. As this paper will discuss music popularity as it changes over time, it is also important that corresponding
changes in technology over the same time period are duly considered during analysis. Technological developments are powerful vehicles for global art
exposure, and this must not be ignored. The rise in popularity of computer generated/synthesised music would not have been possible without the
technological developments made at that time, nor would the dissemination of such music. The meaning of a piece of music can completely change depending

This dissertation aims to develop a preface for this argument.
The central purpose of this paper is to create a platform upon which we can better answer enterprising questions such as, what is the difference between a one
hit wonder and a Beatles record? , and Is there a formula to writing a timeless song, or are social trends alone the deciding factor? . I have chosen this subject
due to the relevance it has to the sociological relationship between music, time and audience new musicology as opposed to ethnomusicology. I am using time
as a frame of reference upon which I will structure my analysis of the music industry s trends and the bilateral social influence between songs and people over
the decades. I will analyse case studies from the 1960 s and the relevance of those case studies over our most recent decade. I will do this for every decade
except for 2000 present as this would

Los Angeles Lakers Research Paper
The (0 3) Los Angeles Lakers are back in downtown Los Angeles, at the Staples Center, to battle the (1 2) Denver Nuggets. The Lakers are facing the
unenviable task of changing the narrative and after three straight losses, attempting to remove the stench that is emanating from their defense.
The Lakers are 21 8 against the Nuggets all time at the Staples Center, in the regular season, 4 6 in their last 10 games. The purple and gold lost the four game
season series (1 3) to the Nuggets last season. In 62 career games, Kobe Bryant is averaging 25.2 points versus the Nuggets.

Oh by the way, the 15 boards were defensive rebounds. In the process, Randle joined Vlade Divac (2 24 95) and Lamar Odom (3 25 07) as the only Lakers to
post such a stat line since the 1985 86 season and the second youngest player in the NBA to do so in the last 30 years as well.
The 20+ point/15 rebound game came in Randle s fourth career game, allowing him to join a short list (Shaquille O Neal, Sharone Wright and Marc Gasol) of
players to post that stat line, in their fourth career game, in the last 20 years.
The Nuggets had an impressive 105 85 win in their season opener over the Houston Rockets and then proceeded to drop their next two games. Denver went
into Houston, shot 50.6 percent from the field and an amazing 48.1 percent (13 of 27) from three point range.
Emmanuel Mudiay averaged 5.9 turnovers per game in the pre season and that trend has continued in the regular season as the rookie point guard is averaging

Budweiser Puppy Love Ad Analysis
Budweiser s Commercial Puppy Love

Max Weber sThe Protestant Ethic And The Spirit Of Capitalism
The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism Max Weber s The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism gives meaning to the center of the capitalist
culture. The capitalistic nature of society evolves from the Puritans. The Protestant Ethic was a dominant and established concept within their culture before the
labeling of capitalism as an order was put into practice. This ethic found it morally permissible to obtain wealth for God, but not for flesh and sin (Weber, pg
435). The obedient Christians would drive for the opportunity to gain profit to fulfill their calling and be a steward for the Lord. Obtaining wealth as a result of
temptation to idleness and sinful enjoyment of life (Weber, pg 435) and living without careful though was seen negatively, but the acquisition of wealth in the
view of performing your duty as a good Christian was encouraged. Not pursuing wealth by not expanding in your talent was seen as disrespectful to God s
glory, principally in the form of begging. By trying to pursue the spiritual goal of wealth, the acetic aspect of the Protestant Ethic allowed individuals to refrain
from the pleasures of wealth by reasoning with their calling. The ascetic conduct related to the rational means behind the Puritans acquiring wealth with duty
and religion in mind and for the purpose of the calling.
In the Spirit of Capitalism there was a religious aspect that drove their determination. The ethical and moral bounds that initiated their drive for

Product line options. Fitbit products are continuously evolving as they are finding new ways to offer what consumers desire from an individual product. By
continuously adding new products with additional features, Fitbit is expanding their market demand from those who desire this product to track activity during
specified periods, such as the gym, to a product that is used daily due to its fashionable look and appeal. This new effort has attracted consumers who prefer a
more unique and modern look. Due to new designs, many consumers also feel comfortable using the product at various occasions outside of their physical
activity.

Prior to the introduction of activity tracking devices, individuals who were concerned with weight management or a healthy lifestyle would join gyms. Fitbit
has made it possible for people to keep track of their wellness by determining the number of steps one takes, identify sleep patterns, and celebrate exercise
milestones accomplished. Fitbit products reduce the time constraint, providing users with instant access to their fitness dashboard either directly from their
phones or a computer. Fitbit users find it convenient to use the fitness tracker because it is easily worn around the wrist as an accessory or clipped to a particle
of clothing.
Feedback and results. The Fitbit app provides instant feedback on physical activity and fitness progress. At any given time, the dashboard allows users to see
the progress made towards their goals for the day and many of the products provide an instant view directly from the Fitbit device. Fitbit devices make it
possible for users to set goals and track their progress (Smith et al., 2014). Additionally, the device is easy to use, set up and troubleshoot.
Health. Fitbit has become a cultural trend. For example, if a person observes someone lose weight by tracking their fitness on a Fitbit, then that person learns
that they may also be able to lose weight if he or she acquires a Fitbit and replicates the same behavior. With the upper and middle classes being more health
conscious, Fitbit is likely to sell more of its product

cracking ceilings, decaying walls, and broken glass from windows. A stray black cat hisses and scurries past our feet into the dark. As we start touring the
house, we start hearing moans and groans, then voices from upstairs. All of a sudden our candles blow out and we all scream. We all run in different directions,
trying to find a way out. It felt like a maze, we were the dumb rats trying to find that one piece of cheese. One by one, I hear screams of my friends. I start

The Pros And Cons Of Puerto Rico
I will not pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. This must be the words of thousands of Puerto
Ricans living in the island today wishing that their small island would once and for all become free from the colonization of the United States. Puerto Rico has
been living under U.S. domination for the past 92 years and it s considered the last nation in Latin America that is still living in colonization. Puerto Ricans

Advantages Of Diversity-Conscious Leadership
Diversity Conscious Leadership
(APA Citation)
The United States is a diverse nation with citizens originating from every other nation on Earth. Despite this diversity, Americans have only recently begun to
identify diversity as a integral part of the workplace; and put into practice programs to diversify, and therefore, maximize efficiency and production. However,
simply diversifying the workplace, or any other place for that matter, will not automatically increase the efficiency of workers. It requires a diversity conscious
leader who has been trained and experienced in such matters to make diversity an asset in the workplace. Diversity leadership has been defined as ways in
which people and groups relate to one another and how management [leadership] decisions are made in the midst of the differences, similarities, and tensions
among groups. (Lim, Cho, Curry, 2008) And in order to accomplish this, a good leader must know the difference between the assimilation and inclusion.
Assimilation takes a diverse group and homogenizes them, while inclusion maintains the individual differences between people and capitalizes on those
differences for the benefit of all. For instance, instilling a goal oriented sense of identity allows for each individual to maintain their uniqueness, while coming
together to accomplish the goal. It is the goal that each individual concentrates on, not the differences between the members of the group. Also, a good leader
will facilitate good

Literary Analysis Of Randall Jarrell
Almost as important as the content, is the form an author chooses to express their stories. From poetry to novels, writing form helps shape a reader s
experience. The Death of the Ball Turret Gunner , is the perfect example of how a poem s form reinforces its content. The author, Randall Jarrell, leaves much
to the readers imagination. Jarrell is descriptive and vague at the same time. This style is no accident and helps convey more to the readers than the surface
level of the text. Making the readers think and question the truth behind any war and telling a story people aren t used to reading. 1
In class, we ve discussed Kate McLoughlin s ideas for how to write the best war literature. Kate McLoughlin helped write and edit The Cambridge Companion
to War Writing. In her writing, McLoughlin discusses the difficulties of war literature, and how words can t capture the true complexity of war. McLoughlin
describes war as a massive and complex phenomenon and goes on to say literature of any type cannot accurately capture war. This is especially true of war on
a global scale that spans years. To solve this problem, McLoughlin suggests that writing less and leaving certain aspects to the reader s imagination can be
beneficial. 2 Randall Jarrell s style seems in line with McLoughlin s views on how to write proper war literature. This lack of detail is what made his poem,
one of the more compelling readings so far. Leaving the reader to imagine what the gunner is experiencing

Anti Depressants in Teens
Are anti depressants a medication or a mental steroid? (Kramer). For many years there has been an ongoing talk about anti depressants. The big question is, are
they really a cure for depression or just a mental steroid. An anti depressant is a medication used to treat depression and other anxiety disorders. When
proscribed to children and teens there can be severe side effects such as an increased chance to commit suicide or have suicidal thoughts or actions. This risk of
suicide is higher for people under the age of 25. (Mayo Clinic Staff). Teenage usage of anti depressants has been a controversial issue for many decades.
Many people believe that anti depressants aren t a medication, but only create artificial happiness. Teenage usage of anti depressants is so risky because it can
increase the chance of suicide. Some more side effects they can cause are anxiety, agitation, hostility, restlessness, or impulsive behavior. They can also make
symptoms of depression stronger after the medication wears off. Although there are many side effects to anti depressants, doctor s still proscribe them to
children who have depression and anxiety disorders. Some popular anti depressants that doctors proscribe to adolescents are Prozac and Zoloft. (Anti
Depressants). Scientists and Doctors studies show that 4 percent of those taking antidepressants had an increase in suicidal thoughts, compared with 2 percent
of those taking sugar pills. After seeing those studies, the FDA (Food

The Effect Of Riluzole On Treating Motor Neuron Disease...
6.10 Discussion
Neuroprotective activity of riluzole is already reported in the literature. At present, it is the only available successful drug for treating motor neuron disease
like ALS. But its poor aqueous solubility, short half life with some side effects at higher concentration (as it is recommended twice or thrice a day for long
time) restricted its use as a neuroprotective agent (Borderias Clau, 2006; Cheah, 2010). In the present study, we have evaluated the neuroprotective activity of
nanoriluzole (NR) for treating one of the most severe brain diseases at a quite low dose using nanocarrier. MCAO is one the best model for ischemic stroke as
it mimic most of the feature of natural brain stroke (Longa, 1989; Heurteaux, 2006; Vaibhav, 2013). Ischemia was induced in rats through MCAO model for 1
hr followed by a reperfusion period of 24 hrs and NR was given intraperitonally after 1 hr of ischemia induction. Animals were evaluated for their behavior
study and sacrificed to remove the brain for analysing various related parameters like infarct, biochemical, histopathology and immunohistochemical study.
It is very well demonstrated that MCAO results in the injury to striatum, cortex and hippocampus region depending upon the time of occlusion of MCA and
reperfusion period (Longa, 1989; Nagasawa, 1989; Heurteaux, 2006). This can be clearly visualized using TTC staining. TTC which is usually white in color
is reduced by dehydogenases (especially succinate dehydrogenase) into

Fara Alternate Ending
Fara cracked one eye, and was blinded momentarily by white light. When her vision cleared and adjusted, she opened the other and viewed her surroundings.
She was in a hallway, just along a baby blue wall; nurses and doctors with stethoscopes around their necks hurried about, ignoring them. Leaning up, she
looked for Xhaiden, and was relieved to see him in a stretcher just in front of her. Their backpacks were at their feet, untouched.
His wounds were cleaned up, but blood still found a way through his abraded skin. She observed her own hands, touching her forehead. Her own injuries were
the same as that of his. Puzzled, she asked the nearest nurse a simple question concerning them, who was a tall woman with long, blonde hair fixed into a ...

dropping the groceries, she shuffled to the checkout counter, dropping them clumsily on the smooth conveyor belt.
The cashier, a young teen, appeared exhausted. She looked longingly at a clock above the entrance, which read 3:14. Fara was shocked at the time, but relieved
somewhat; they could use the rest of the night to catch up on the sleep that they desperately needed, much more than food, water, and pens.
The working teenager swiped the supplies over a scanner, and she reached into her backpack pocket to take out the money. The cash register rang up a total of

handed it to her without saying a word.
She calmly walked out of the store, and strode to Xhaiden, who was clutching the gauze, and immediately took his hand off when he saw her, embarrassed.

Picasso s Influence On A Rookie Baseball Player
There are very few things that appreciate with time. Many people love to bank on a rookie baseball player, in hopes his card will be worth thousands. Many
invest in land, praying they hit a gold mine like land in Frisco or Prosper, Texas. One of these rare items is art. Art is a luxury, that many high income people
love to invest in. Pablo Picasso s art is some of the most if not the most prominent, pieces of artwork in the world. Picasso was a trendsetter of sorts, helping
start many movements including introducing the idea of a collage in his later paintings. Picasso had a habit of drawing his lovers in his paintings. For some of
his mistresses, he created lots of art with them as the main subjects of the paintings, as those were the stronger influences. Many of his paintings were centered
around one of his mistresses, Marie Therese Walter. Picasso met the 17 year old Walter while he was married to his wife, Olga Khokhlova. Throughout their
relationship, which spanned nine years, she was the centerpiece of his work. Depending on the depiction of the subject, Picasso showed his emotion toward
Walter. The painting, Seated Woman of Walter by Picasso portrays a unique style, a powerful use of colors, and a different view of Walter in comparison to
paintings of his other mistresses.
One of the unique parts of the Seated Woman painting is the style that is presented by Picasso. Made mainstream in the art world by Picasso and fellow artist

Struggling With Sexual Identity
Everyone knows celebrities Ellen DeGeneres, Neil Patrick Harris, Jane Lynch or Queen Latifah. They are funny are they not? Most people love watching
movies and programs that they are in; however, not many people know they are all homosexual. Yet why do labels only go to non celebrities? Why are non
celebrities treated any differently than famous homosexuals? They are all the same and deserve the same respect as those who are not homosexual. We are all
equal regardless of our sexual orientation. People should not be labeled as homosexual or heterosexual because it is a personal issue and should not be used to
judge an individual s character, morals, or integrity.
Social attitudes toward homosexuals have both negative and positive perceptions. Using the category labels homosexual and heterosexual, researchers found
that heterosexual male and female participants had more negative implicit attitudes toward homosexuals relative to heterosexual (Breen). Participants have
completed an Implicit Association Test (IAT) which is gay men vs. straight men which is made up of good words and bad words (Breen). In regards to positive
attitudes, many things have changed over time and a rise in positive attitudes toward homosexuals has grown (Breen). The right of gay men and lesbians to
marry, one might believe that, on average, Americans hold

When the Separatists bordered the ship, the Mayflower, with other individuals seeking different lands, such as Captain Myles Standish, a popular soldier, the
ship missed its destination and landed in New England. Upon arriving, the group chose leaders that would effectively lead the group, such as William
Bradford, a self taught scholar who could speak many languages and communicate with many different types of people and was later discovered to be elected
30 times as governor for the Pilgrims. The chosen leaders of this group of people, the Pilgrims, created a brief Mayflower Compact which signified an
agreement to form a crude government and always submit to the regulation of majority rules . This pact was a step towards the idea of America s self
government. Since the Pilgrims wisely chose educated leaders, the population usually got along well, and its colonization made it one of the most moral and
spiritual at the time. The Pilgrims fought through harsh winters and celebrated bountiful harvests, which would later lead to the creation of Thanksgiving, and

Teachers Students And The Learning Environment
Teachers conducting action research in there class Action research is a means through which an educator stays informed of the on going trends in education
with specific interest in individual content areas or classroom management techniques. Teachers need to understand these trends to better serve the students.
By participating in these research activities, teachers embrace change in pedagogical strategies and learn how to best understand their students and the learning
environment. These in turn opens avenues for differentiated instruction. Differentiated instruction is a teaching strategy that varies teaching techniques
depending on individual student needs to meet the student at their points of need. Meeting students at their points of need and teaching them required content
based using the most appropriate method should be the sole purpose for every educator. Therefore, teachers should conduct action research in their own
classrooms to be better educators. Action research in classrooms can also yield new teaching and testing strategies. Action research project Problem statement,

The Benefits Of Art By Sandra Ruppert
The Benefits of Art
Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time ~Thomas Merton (qtd. in Inspirational Art Quotes on Pinterest) There are so many benefits
arts provide in education, the activity of the brain, and the health and well being of others.
It seems like whenever you open yourself up to art, it opens you up and activates certain parts in your brain that wouldn t normally be activated. There has
been recent research that proves that arts actually help with students education and learning abilities. A wise man named Hal Sparks once said, People think
that the arts are optional and they aren t. They teach a level of emotional depth that´s equally important to mathematic skill. You can replace some math skills
with a calculator if you know how to operate the thing, but there s no calculator for human interaction Sandra Ruppert explains that students who are involved
in arts learning experiences improve their achievement in learning and life. Researchers in the University of California surveyed high school and middle school
students and the students who were more involved in arts had higher scores in standardized tests than those who were involved in little arts programs. Also,
they recorded that the highly involved students watched less television and were less bored. (Ruppert) You would think that s good, but arts programs are
slowly decreasing. Music is said to keep your brain healthy as it ages, since listening to music or even

Shortest Life Expectancy
There are several factors that effect a person s life expectancy and where you live could put you more at risk. One factor is physical environment. Some people
are more likely than others to be exposed to the potentially harmful effects of physical, chemical, and biological agents. Another factor is social environment,
which can effect a person depending on whether or not their environment is more stressful than others. Differential susceptibility is another factor meaning that
physical appearance or height could gain you more benefits over a shorter person who is less attractive. A very important factor is individual lifestyle. This
includes a person s diet and physical activity and research shows that those who live in a safe neighborhood get more exercise than those who live in an unsafe

When I think of courageous people in our world one of the first people that come to my mind is Eric Berry. Eric Berry is a safety for the Kansas City Chiefs
and is actually a very talented player. Unfortunately, Berry was diagnosed with cancer and had to stop playing in the NFL. After a long hard battle with cancer,
with all of Kansas City s support and help, Eric Berry returned back to the NFL Playing just as well as he played before. No one treated him any different than
they did before because that is what he wanted, he wanted to be seen as the talented football safety, not the cancer survivor who everyone pitied. To me, it
seemed Eric Berry showed a lot of courage and it was really outstanding how after being close to death and not being sure if he d come back alive, he returned
to the NFL facing his fears in the face. No one likes to face their fears because obviously, it s their fears. For Berry to look fear in the face and keep moving
forward, it took a lot of courage and that is why he is such an influence on a lot of people. Courage is all over the place, but people don t realize it. Courage is
shown within ourselves, in arts, and all over our world today. Courage is something that everyone should have because, without it, most people would not be in

Hebert Eagle Seven Pounds Analysis
Drawing upon Hebert Eagle, Seven Pounds clearly exhibits the demonstration of blue lighting throughout the entire film. For instance, near the end of the film,
the viewer experiences the second of Tim s flashbacks of the devastating crash. Ascending the hill in which his car rolled over, Tim searches for any survivors
of the fatal crash. After a few minutes of searching, Tim discovers his dead wife lying on the cold, hard asphalt. Aware that he remains the only survivor, Tim,
with heaving sobs, slowly falls to his knees and eventually lies with his wife on the ground. Throughout this entire scene, blue lighting falls on Tim and
exhibits the loneliness and hopelessness that he now feels. Although such an example presents itself near the end of the film, it is imperative to understand this
motif. Throughout the entire film, the lighting on Tim, when shown alone, is often blue as if recalling the crash sequence. However, when Tim interacts with
Emily later on in the film, Muccino uses yellow lighting to contrast that of the blue and to produce warmth within the scene, and to show the comfort and
stability that Tim feels in Emily s company. Thus, the masterful application of blue lighting sets the viewer on edge ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Essay On International Law

Russia s Violation of International Law As a result of their current manipulative actions in Crimea, Russia has shown a willful disregard for the Treaty it signed
at the Fourth Geneva Convention in 1949, wherein all civilians are entitled to protection from armed conflict between two countries. Geneva Conventions
broadly outline the fundamental rights of wartime detainees for all citizens and military personnel, create assurances for the injured and debilitated, and set up
insurances for citizens in and around a battle region. In this manner, the Geneva Convention has made rules and guidelines to ensure that all humanity is
entitled to basic rights. The Fourth Geneva ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In turn, this would lead to subtle influences by Russia. Russia has demonstrated by its recent actions that it is driven by power and greed. It has shown a willful
ignorance of civilian casualties as it has they want what Cremia has to offer. The real question is what does Crimea have that Russia wants that bad that they
are breaking the Fourth Geneva Convention for? Well Cremia is very rich in natural oil and gas which they want to help because Russia Siberian energy
reserves are dwindling. Cremia is also known for its amazing seaside cliffs and summer mansions which does attract a lot of tourists. Russia has also taken
down major water plants which have cut off Ukrainians from water supply. Back in 1947 Joseph Stalin who was the leader of the Soviet Union party signed
the Fourth Geneva Convention to ensure a good future for his country and people. Look at what Putin has done he is disrespecting his predecessor who built
his country and signed this treaty.
Casualties
By first attacking and annexing Crimea with stealth powers and after moving into and possessing eastern parts of Ukraine, Putin was sending clear flags to his
neighbors that endeavors to democratize, change, and incorporate all the more intimately with Western establishments like the European Union would not be
allowed. Crimea is currently part of The Ukraine however

Max Weber sThe Protestant Ethic And The Spirit Of Capitalism The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism Max Weber s The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism gives meaning to the center of the capitalist culture. The capitalistic nature of society evolves from the Puritans. The Protestant Ethic was a dominant and established concept within their culture before the labeling of capitalism as an order was put into practice. This ethic found it morally permissible to obtain wealth for God, but not for flesh and sin (Weber, pg 435). Not pursuing wealth by not expanding in your talent was seen as disrespectful to God s glory, principally in the form of begging. By trying to pursue the spiritual goal of wealth, the acetic aspect of the Protestant Ethic allowed individuals to refrain from the pleasures of wealth by reasoning with their calling. The ascetic conduct related to the rational means behind the Puritans acquiring wealth with duty and religion in mind and for the purpose of the calling. There was a full harvest moon, the wind was howling, the neighborhood was quiet; even though kids were trick or treating. My friends and I were waiting to go outside. Andrew, a blue eyed nerd, was already excited to go outside. Ashley, Alex and I were calm, but anxious. We all agreed to go out when it got darker. This must be the words of thousands of Puerto Ricans living in the island today wishing that their small island would once and for all become free from the colonization of the United States. Puerto Rico has been living under U.S. domination for the past 92 years and it s considered the last nation in Latin America that is still living in colonization. • 13. Advantages Of Diversity-Conscious Leadership Diversity Conscious Leadership (APA Citation) The United States is a diverse nation with citizens originating from every other nation on Earth. Despite this diversity, Americans have only recently begun to identify diversity as a integral part of the workplace; and put into practice programs to diversify, and therefore, maximize efficiency and production. However, simply diversifying the workplace, or any other place for that matter, will not automatically increase the efficiency of workers. It requires a diversity conscious leader who has been trained and experienced in such matters to make diversity an asset in the workplace. Diversity leadership has been defined as ways in which people and groups relate to one another and how management [leadership] decisions are made in the midst of the differences, similarities, and tensions among groups. (Lim, Cho, Curry, 2008) And in order to accomplish this, a good leader must know the difference between the assimilation and inclusion. Assimilation takes a diverse group and homogenizes them, while inclusion maintains the individual differences between people and capitalizes on those differences for the benefit of all. For instance, instilling a goal oriented sense of identity allows for each individual to maintain their uniqueness, while coming together to accomplish the goal. It is the goal that each individual concentrates on, not the differences between the members of the group. Also, a good leader will facilitate good ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. Literary Analysis Of Randall Jarrell Almost as important as the content, is the form an author chooses to express their stories. From poetry to novels, writing form helps shape a reader s experience. The Death of the Ball Turret Gunner , is the perfect example of how a poem s form reinforces its content. The author, Randall Jarrell, leaves much to the readers imagination. Jarrell is descriptive and vague at the same time. This style is no accident and helps convey more to the readers than the surface level of the text. Making the readers think and question the truth behind any war and telling a story people aren t used to reading. 1 In class, we ve discussed Kate McLoughlin s ideas for how to write the best war literature. Kate McLoughlin helped write and edit The Cambridge Companion to War Writing. In her writing, McLoughlin discusses the difficulties of war literature, and how words can t capture the true complexity of war. McLoughlin describes war as a massive and complex phenomenon and goes on to say literature of any type cannot accurately capture war. This is especially true of war on a global scale that spans years. To solve this problem, McLoughlin suggests that writing less and leaving certain aspects to the reader s imagination can be beneficial. 2 Randall Jarrell s style seems in line with McLoughlin s views on how to write proper war literature. This lack of detail is what made his poem, one of the more compelling readings so far. Leaving the reader to imagine what the gunner is experiencing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 15. Anti Depressants in Teens Are anti depressants a medication or a mental steroid? (Kramer). For many years there has been an ongoing talk about anti depressants. The big question is, are they really a cure for depression or just a mental steroid. An anti depressant is a medication used to treat depression and other anxiety disorders. When proscribed to children and teens there can be severe side effects such as an increased chance to commit suicide or have suicidal thoughts or actions. This risk of suicide is higher for people under the age of 25. (Mayo Clinic Staff). Teenage usage of anti depressants has been a controversial issue for many decades. Many people believe that anti depressants aren t a medication, but only create artificial happiness. Teenage usage of anti depressants is so risky because it can increase the chance of suicide. Some more side effects they can cause are anxiety, agitation, hostility, restlessness, or impulsive behavior. They can also make symptoms of depression stronger after the medication wears off. Although there are many side effects to anti depressants, doctor s still proscribe them to children who have depression and anxiety disorders. Some popular anti depressants that doctors proscribe to adolescents are Prozac and Zoloft. (Anti Depressants). Scientists and Doctors studies show that 4 percent of those taking antidepressants had an increase in suicidal thoughts, compared with 2 percent of those taking sugar pills. • 16. The Effect Of Riluzole On Treating Motor Neuron Disease... 6.10 Discussion Neuroprotective activity of riluzole is already reported in the literature. At present, it is the only available successful drug for treating motor neuron disease like ALS. But its poor aqueous solubility, short half life with some side effects at higher concentration (as it is recommended twice or thrice a day for long time) restricted its use as a neuroprotective agent (Borderias Clau, 2006; Cheah, 2010). In the present study, we have evaluated the neuroprotective activity of nanoriluzole (NR) for treating one of the most severe brain diseases at a quite low dose using nanocarrier. MCAO is one the best model for ischemic stroke as it mimic most of the feature of natural brain stroke (Longa, 1989; Heurteaux, 2006; Vaibhav, 2013). Ischemia was induced in rats through MCAO model for 1 hr followed by a reperfusion period of 24 hrs and NR was given intraperitonally after 1 hr of ischemia induction. Animals were evaluated for their behavior study and sacrificed to remove the brain for analysing various related parameters like infarct, biochemical, histopathology and immunohistochemical study. It is very well demonstrated that MCAO results in the injury to striatum, cortex and hippocampus region depending upon the time of occlusion of MCA and reperfusion period (Longa, 1989; Nagasawa, 1989; Heurteaux, 2006). His wounds were cleaned up, but blood still found a way through his abraded skin. She observed her own hands, touching her forehead. Her own injuries were the same as that of his. One of these rare items is art. Art is a luxury, that many high income people love to invest in. Pablo Picasso s art is some of the most if not the most prominent, pieces of artwork in the world. Picasso was a trendsetter of sorts, helping start many movements including introducing the idea of a collage in his later paintings. Picasso had a habit of drawing his lovers in his paintings. For some of his mistresses, he created lots of art with them as the main subjects of the paintings, as those were the stronger influences. Many of his paintings were centered around one of his mistresses, Marie Therese Walter. Picasso met the 17 year old Walter while he was married to his wife, Olga Khokhlova. Throughout their relationship, which spanned nine years, she was the centerpiece of his work. Depending on the depiction of the subject, Picasso showed his emotion toward Walter. The painting, Seated Woman of Walter by Picasso portrays a unique style, a powerful use of colors, and a different view of Walter in comparison to paintings of his other mistresses. One of the unique parts of the Seated Woman painting is the style that is presented by Picasso. Made mainstream in the art world by Picasso and fellow artist Georges Braque, cubism is the ... It seems like whenever you open yourself up to art, it opens you up and activates certain parts in your brain that wouldn t normally be activated. There has been recent research that proves that arts actually help with students education and learning abilities. A wise man named Hal Sparks once said, People think that the arts are optional and they aren t. They teach a level of emotional depth that´s equally important to mathematic skill. • 35. Example Of Courage Research Paper In my life I need a lot of courage to do the things I do every day, It takes a lot of courage to just come to school every Monday and take that test I know I am not ready for yet. Although I may need a lot of courage every day, one example really pops in my mind when I think of courage in my life. My dad, My brother and myself were all traveling to Utah for a snowboarding trip, and up there in Utah, it is a lot different than it is in Vermont or upstate New York which is where I normally go. I have been snowboarding for many years and I have gotten a lot better than I used to be, but when my dad and said we were going to the highest point of the mountain, to go down double black diamonds, I got so much more nervous than I was before. Where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When I think of courageous people in our world one of the first people that come to my mind is Eric Berry. Eric Berry is a safety for the Kansas City Chiefs and is actually a very talented player. Unfortunately, Berry was diagnosed with cancer and had to stop playing in the NFL. After a long hard battle with cancer, with all of Kansas City s support and help, Eric Berry returned back to the NFL Playing just as well as he played before. No one treated him any different than they did before because that is what he wanted, he wanted to be seen as the talented football safety, not the cancer survivor who everyone pitied. To me, it seemed Eric Berry showed a lot of courage and it was really outstanding how after being close to death and not being sure if he d come back alive, he returned to the NFL facing his fears in the face. No one likes to face their fears because obviously, it s their fears. For Berry to look fear in the face and keep moving forward, it took a lot of courage and that is why he is such an influence on a lot of people. Courage is all over the place, but people don t realize it. Courage is shown within ourselves, in arts, and all over our world today. Courage is something that everyone should have because, without it, most people would not be in the place they are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Hebert Eagle Seven Pounds Analysis Drawing upon Hebert Eagle, Seven Pounds clearly exhibits the demonstration of blue lighting throughout the entire film. For instance, near the end of the film, the viewer experiences the second of Tim s flashbacks of the devastating crash. Ascending the hill in which his car rolled over, Tim searches for any survivors of the fatal crash. After a few minutes of searching, Tim discovers his dead wife lying on the cold, hard asphalt. Aware that he remains the only survivor, Tim, with heaving sobs, slowly falls to his knees and eventually lies with his wife on the ground. Throughout this entire scene, blue lighting falls on Tim and exhibits the loneliness and hopelessness that he now feels. Although such an example presents itself near the end of the film, it is imperative to understand this motif. Throughout the entire film, the lighting on Tim, when shown alone, is often blue as if recalling the crash sequence. However, when Tim interacts with Emily later on in the film, Muccino uses yellow lighting to contrast that of the blue and to produce warmth within the scene, and to show the comfort and stability that Tim feels in Emily s company. Thus, the masterful application of blue lighting sets the viewer on edge ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
