How Did Jim Crow Laws Affect Black People In The Early 1900s
Back in 1877 throughout the 1950s and 60s, there was Jim Crow laws in the United States. The Jim
Crow laws were a set of laws that stated white people and black people couldn t go to the same
schools, drink out of the same water fountains, go to the same bathrooms, go to the same parks and
black people couldn t even make contact with them. There are still many more things that blacks
couldn t do that whites could. The blacks would get tired of all of the unfairness that they received. So
they protested and many of them were arrested. Most of the protest they did wasn t in any way
harming anyone but police still arrested them and sometimes they didn t even give them fair trials.

Safety Of The Hpv Vaccine Essay
Safety of the HPV Vaccine There have been concerns about the safety of the HPV vaccines. In Basu s
(2013) article they reviewed the evidence from the phase III trials and national programs for the HPV
vaccine. After reviewing the data though the article showed that all the randomized control trials
reported both their serious and non serious adverse events that took place during the phase III trials.
There were 20,000 participants in the trial (p.4). Pain at the injection site, headache, and fatigue were
the most frequently reported issues. The serious adverse effects were very rare so the vaccine was
considered safe. When reviewing the safety data from the national programs in Australia there were
millions of doses given out and the most adverse side effects there were anaphylactic and allergic
reactions, and these were not seen as any more dangerous than it is for other vaccines. In the US about
40 million doses were given out and among the reports that were received by the Vaccine Adverse
Event Reporting System which totaled 20,096 only 8% of these reports were actually were considered
serious (p.5). All the reports were reviewed and could not find any adverse events that occurred that
could be ascribed to the vaccine. In the UK they reviewed the vaccine two years after it came out and
concluded it to be safe. Reviewing the data from all three counties in the national programs showed
that none of the deaths that occurred could be linked to the vaccine. So both the

Canter Fair Description
We are peasants in medieval times that work hard every day and try to make a living and this is our
story. In a small home outside of Canterbury lived four men and their families named Arthur, Drake,
Griffo, and Hrodebert. All four of them were experienced armorers but they needed money because
they can t afford a simple meal. Our houses were made out of wood, straw, and mud. At the first crack
of dawn, we entered the kitchen for breakfast. We can t drink water anymore due to a recent discovery
of dirty water in rivers. Lately, we have been drinking ale or cider. Our typical meals are dark bread,
pottage, and soup. The pottage was flavored with vegetables, beans, peas, bacon, salted pork. In the
winter we had a few vegetables that we would eat ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then Arthur came up with a great plan. He said we should all make new sets of armor, better sets of
armor, way cooler sets of armor. We can make a bad set of armor and place it in the middle, wait for
the two men to return, follow them, attack their base, and finally get the armor back! The 3 of them
thought it was a great plan and so they all went back to the contest to start crafting armors. As soon as
they were done, they went to put the bad set of armor in the middle. All of the sudden, a scream was
heard from a distance. It was the city of Canterbury! All of the fruits and foods have been stolen. The
four boys went to see what had happened and who stole the food. It was the two men. They were
masked men, thieves. The four men quickly put on their armor and rushed to find the men. It turns out,
the men were none other than Gavin and Robin! Gavin and Robin were there with a huge army
standing behind them. The four boys slowly backed away. The four boys the looked behind them to
see all of the armorers that participated in the contest in armor suits. Break a leg, Griffo! Hrodebert
said sarcastically. Ha Ha, thats so funny! Griffo exaggerated. Both of the armies started to attack. A
war had begun. There was constant fighting when in the end, the four boys and the brave fighters of

Cheerleading Budget
This report is organized by beginning with the breakdown of the University of South Florida
intercollegiate athletics budget, then by describing particular aspects that have an impact on the
cheerleading program as a whole.
Within the Universities operating budget for the 2016 2017 school year a breakdown of the athletics
budget is available. The University provides 2.37% of its $1,695,827,240 budget ( Operating Budget ).
This is $40,140,918 for the entire USF system, which is then broken down into different aspects such
as athletics administration, event management, marketing, business offices, and the enrichment center
( Operating Budget ). The remainder is then distributed between athletic teams including coaching

One member of the team, Michaels Jones, tells us this, and explains how difficult it is to fit these
fundraisers into her already busy schedule. Having the cheerleaders, and band at football games is an
important part of the atmosphere and is one aspects many students consider when choosing a school.
Scholarships are something that are often associated with the thought of college athletics, and are used
as a way to bring individuals to a particular university. These are an important part of building a team
of the best athletes possible. At the University of South Florida, scholarship opportunities for
cheerleaders are very minimal. With $24,000 yearly given to this team for this purpose, $500
maximum is available to each student ( Operating Budget ). Due to this lack of funding, many
members of the team must have outside jobs in order to make do throughout the school year. Having a
job, as well as participating in the 25+ hours of cheerleading related activities, and maintaining
eligibility GPA can put a large strain on the athlete ( USF Spirit Squads ).
Recruitment budget is also an important aspect of continual growth of a team and a way to bring new
students to the university. Third year veteran, Michaela Jones, provided insight into the recruitment
aspect of USF

Therapeutic Cloning Benefits
Why give the money to therapeutic cloning research? Therapeutic cloning involves creating a cloned
embryonic stem cells with the same DNA as the donor cells. It will help produce genetically identical
copies of a biological entity.Which the stem cells for experiments aimed at creating tissues to replace
injured or diseased tissues. The money should go to fund therapeutic cloning only because it will
replace damaged organs, replace lost limbs and is safer than reproductive cloning. Therapeutic cloning
will help replace damaged organs. For example, therapeutic cloning aims for cloning new organs, to
have have give healthy new skin for fire victims or strong new bones for osteoporosis patients. It will
create viable medical treatments. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, the process of therapeutic cloning allows scientists to evaluate how the body could
potentially reduce the need for organ transplant to occur in the first place. Therefore, the cells would
be developed based on a person s own unique genetics and DNA. There would no longer be a need for
a second surgery of a donor in order for a transplant to be successful. Medical treatments would be
individually based and this would ultimately protect the privacy of the person. So, therapeutic cloning
will get the organs and it would create the person s own cells. There would be a much reduced risk of
organ rejections once a transplant procedure was successfully completed. Therapeutic cloning is more
safer than reproductive cloning. Reproductive cloning would foster an understanding of children, and
of people in general, as objects that can be designed to possess specific characteristics. As president,
Bush said, we must advance the promise and cause of science, but must do so in a way that honors and
respects life . Therefore, therapeutic cloning is more safer than reproductive cloning because cloned
children would unavoidably be raised in the shadow of their nuclear donor, in a way that would
strongly tend to constrain individuals psychological and social

Advantages And Disadvantages Of ATM Is A Deterministic...
ATM is a connection oriented, unreliable, virtual circuit packet switching technology. Unlike most
connectionless networking protocols, ATM is a deterministic networking system. It provides
predictable, guaranteed quality of service. From end to end, every component in an ATM network
provides a high level of control. ATM technology has:
Scalable Performance ATM can send data across network quickly and accurately, regardless of the size
of the network. ATM works well on both very low and very high speed media.
Flexible, guaranteed Quality of Service ATM allows the accuracy and speed of data transfer to be
specified by the client. The QoS feature of ATM also supports time dependent traffic. Each virtual

Point to Multipoint Connection
Point to multipoint connects a single source end system (known as the root node) to multiple
destination end systems (known as leaves). Such connections are unidirectional only.
ADVANTAGES OF ATM
 Better utilization of the bandwidth
 It can also be used to transfer very large amounts of data over WAN and LAN.
 ATM can also be used between WAN and LAN as well.
 Allows for end to end flow and error control
 The speed of asynchronous transfer mode can reach up to 10 billion bytes/sec.
DISADVANTAGES OF ATM
 ATM has not been widely accepted.
 ATM switch costs much more than inexpensive LAN hardware.
 Assumption of Homogeneity: ATM is designed to be a single, universal networking

Achieving this goal is a personal desire that I have, therefore I am making a change on my own
accord.
I have personally observed when I eat more vegetables that I am able to have regular bowel
movements. I have also noted that I have increased energy. The data that I collected as a baseline
showed me that I was eating too small of an amount of vegetables per week. That data did not surprise
me, but it showed me that my intake of vegetable was not where it needed to be. This motivated me
even more to make the change.
The S.M.A.R.T. (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time frame) behavior that I am going
to change is that I am going to increase my intake of vegetables per week to 17.5 cups. There may be a
few obstacles that may stop me from meeting my weekly target. One of those obstacles is sometimes
being too tired to put together a meal that contains the recommended serving of vegetables. Another
obstacles is sometimes having classes one after another with approximately 10 minutes between each
of them causes for me to feel as though I do not have a chance to eat. These obstacles can affect any
full time student or even someone who is always on the go. The first obstacle of being too tired to

Essay Disadvantages Of Deficit Spending
Deficit spending is defined as government spending, in excess of revenue, of funds raised by
borrowing rather than from taxation . Government deficit is the foundation of our economical system.
Deficit spending is the process of spending more money than you have coming in. Government
purchases make up the next largest category and this contains items that the government pays for to
continue to operate plus the value of the goods and services put out by the government. It does not
however include government payments such as welfare or social security. There are many advantages
in deficit spending; one for example is increase growth within the economy. When the government
spend excessively then it creates affordable supply and demand for the country. This creates long term
jobs and adds to the workforce. Money flowing through the country overall impacts the country to
increase more revenue. Another positive role that deficit spending can have is that it creates control
within the country. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

for no savings. There is usually no savings during a deficit period because you will be paying back
what you have spent and borrowed. Also when dealing with deficit there is no set interest rate and can

The Importance Of Learning Computer Science
We live in the time period at which the vast majority of college students take fundamental level of
computer science.
It is because a lot of job requires some level of knowledge in it.
It also determines the payment in their future job. It is an indisputable fact that people who did not
learn computer science learn less salary than those who did learn. Therefore, the majority of the
college students are obsessed with computer science to acquire a financial advantage in the work
place.
In the first of class of IDS 190, Dr. James Lu explained to us that we would explore in this course on
one inquiry: is learning computer science important to our life?
Dr. Lu underscored throughout the semester that computer science can teach the skill of computational
thinking.
According Jeannette M. Wing, a professor at Carnegie Mellon University, computational thinking[It]
represents a universally applicable attitude and skill set everyone, not just computer scientists, would
be eager to learn and us.
In other word, computational thinking is relevant to algorithmic thinking, searching ability, logical
reasoning, abstraction, caching, recursion, representation, basic loop idiom, and nested loops, all of
which are computer science skills.
And knowing those specific techniques, according to Wing, will influence our problem solving ability,
creativity, and thinking. However, though computer science can tremendously help develop our
capability, those developments are not

Failures of Internet Censorship Essay
Internet censorship is the use of filters or blocks to control what is published, access and viewed
across the internet. It is used by parents, organisations such as schools and corporations and
governments to restrict what their citizen s access and post online. Internet censorship has occurred
since the early days of the public internet, where governments around the world have attempted to
address the issue of illegal material, political propaganda, harmful material or content deemed
unsuitable for children. This essay will discuss the instances of internet censorship failing to work,

In this particular instance, internet censorship failed to work to some extent due to the cooperation of
combined companies and government. However, other techniques are used in order to restrict search
engine results.
Governments use different techniques to censor and restrict the internet. As stated previously the Great
Firewall of China, also known as the Golden Shield Project is considered the advanced Internet
censorship regime in the world and the largest in the world. The Chinese Government utilises many
techniques in the filtering and restriction of content. The most common techniques are IP Blocking,
DNS filtering and redirection, URL filtering, Packet filtering and Connection reset . In light of these
filtering and censorship methods, citizens of china have managed to circumvent their government s
censorship by accessing the internet through proxies and VPN s. A proxy re routs a users request via
another server, so that it appears that the request is coming from that server. The website being access
sends the data back to the proxy and the proxy forwards it to the user. The proxy will only secure
traffic via the internet browser. Unlike a Proxy, a VPN encrypts all traffic, not just the web browser.
Programs like TOR (The Onion Router) are designed to allow users to navigate around the firewall
and encrypt their traffic. With programs such as TOR, Ultrasurf and Freegate (just to name a few)
residents in China have been

Class Differences In Sociological Analysis
Social structures are limitations that affect the lives of individuals and groups in the society. Social
structures such as class, gender and ethnicity are the limitations that society has to cope with in one
way or another (Lawson et al, 2002). Class (upper class, middle class, and poor) is a the most
favoured limitation that influence the lives of individuals and groups. Social class is the key source of
economic and material inequality and is found in all societies (Marron et al, 2011).
Karl Marx and Max Weber are two classical sociologists that explain the term social structures in
global perspective. Karl Marx argued that there were two classes: the ruling class (bourgeoisie) and

Essay about Mexicans Begin Jogging
The irony of Gary Soto Mexicans Begin Jogging Gary s Soto Mexicans Begin Jogging, describes an
event that happened when he worked in a factory where illegal Mexican workers were employed.
Although the poem is simple, Soto brings identity, ironic, drama, and imagery to his audience. The
narrative reflects irony the speaker went through and the dilemma that Mexican Americans go
through. The poems tone is ironic and not taking too seriously. The poem begins explaining to the
reader the story of a Mexican American as he worked in an industrial factory at some point in his life.

Causes Of Illegal Immigration From El Salvador
Illegal immigration is a big problem in America, and it is very hard to solve. These immigrants are
coming into America for many different reasons. The main immigrants into America are from Mexico,
but many do come from El Salvador too. Some immigrants like economic migrants, come to America
because of job availability and more money. For example, in Mexico poverty and unemployment is a
major problem, and by 2012 55.3 million out of 120 million were poor. The majority of the Mexican
population are farmers, and they live in rural areas with very extreme temperatures and the poor
quality land makes it hard to actually farm. This culture causses struggle for these Mexican families.
Due to these high unemployment and poverty rates they migrate to America in order to support their
family and further retain a reasonable standard of living. Another reason Mexicans will come into
America is because they are fleeing violence. In Mexico, there is very high crime rates, and homicide
rates are around 10 14 per 100,000 people. With drugs, in the past 5 years, more than 47, 500 have
been killed. Therefore, a reason some Mexicans will come to America is because of the lower crime
rates, and having a more reliable and stable home to live. Additionally, we see this reason of migration
from immigrants from El Salvador. In El Salvador, there are many crimes and violence gangs. It is the
murder capital in the world, with nearly one homicide per hour in the first three months of 2016. Its

A Research Study On Anti Smoking Campaign
INTRODUCTION:
Anti smoking campaigns aim to induce attitude changes that will cause a behavioural change of not
smoking, by employing techniques that target the central or peripheral route processing. The central
route prompts reasoning and analysis of arguments, persuading the audience through the message s
content. The peripheral route uses visual cues to appeal to emotions. Each route stimulates differing
depths of understanding about the consequences of smoking, and thus, varying levels of commitment
to not smoking. This investigation will focus on how effective these campaigns are in inducing higher
levels of understanding and commitment to not smoking. Subjective quantitative data will be collected
via self reports. A Visual Analogue ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

achieved a higher mean understanding score on the V.A.S. Graph 2 shows that anti smoking
campaigns stimulating the central route produced higher commitment to not smoking than those
targeting the peripheral route, as they achieved a higher mean score on the questionnaire.
DATA INTERPRETATION:
Graph 1 displays that campaigns targeting central route processing had the highest mean score of 88,
and thus, produced a better understanding of the consequences of smoking. An 11% difference existed
between the mean scores of the two experimental groups, indicating that their understanding was
relatively similar.
Graph 2 suggests that campaigns targeting central route processing produced higher commitment to
not smoking, as they had the highest mean score of 40. A 29% difference existed between the mean
scores of these two experimental groups, indicating that their commitment levels were relatively
different.

General Grain Theory
A variety of programs attempt to achieve the crime control goals established by general strain theory,
but none are explicitly drawn from general strain theory. Restorative justice programs are an example
of this. These restorative programs aim to impose less severe sanctions on offenders to reduce the risk
of offenders viewing their punishment as unjust. This is accomplished by making offenders aware of
the harm they caused and allow offenders to have a say in the sanction they are subjected to. The
offenders also have a voice in mediating with the community and victim of their crime, which in turn
helps teach them to cope with strains through legitimate, non criminal means (Agnew, 2006). These
strategies would be beneficial in allowing students to realize the emotional ... Show more content on

The main reason students resort to weapons carrying, criminal coping, according to general strain
theory is their lack of legitimate coping mechanisms. Schools should be required to teach and offer
students non criminal ways of coping with strains in their life. Teacher mediation would be one
effective strategy to help eliminate strains or effectively deal with strains. When students are suffering
from bullying rather than turning to weapons carrying as a coping mechanism, students should be
taught to inform their teachers of the strain and deal with it through mediation. Mediation is a way for
negative emotions to be expressed and potentially eliminate the negative stimuli of bullying from a
student s daily life. Drawing from restorative justice, which is influenced by general strain as theory,
this tactic for combating weapons carrying could be shown to be very effective. If utilized to its full
potential general strain theory can be combined with other criminological theories to produce effective

Essay on Computer Crimes
Computer Crimes
Computer crimes are on the rise 1 in 10 Americans experience some form of a malicious attack on
their computer system. If you pay attention to the rest of this speech you will understand how a
Hackers mind works and how to defend yourself from them. In this speech I will tell you why and
how people break into computers, what sorts of trouble they cause, and what kind of punishment lie
ahead for them if caught.
Hackers and Crackers break into computer systems for any of a wide variety of reasons. Many groups
break into computers for capital gain while still others do it as a means to pass time at work or at
school. For most it s a thrill to figure out how to break into a computer. Most people never have any ...

Another way that Hackers cause trouble is by altering the telephone switching networks at MCI, AT T,
and Sprint. By doing this they are able to listen to any conversation they choose. Often times they will
listen in on the Police and
FBI communicating with each other. This allows them to move to a new location before they are
found. Some Hackers use their knowledge of the telephone system to turn their enemies home
telephone into a virtual pay phone that asks for quarters whenever you take the phone off the hook.
A person to commits a computer crime in caught will very likely face a substantial punishment. Often
these types of criminals are never caught unless they really screw up. The most wanted Hacker Kevin
Mitinick was tracked down and arrested after he broke into a computer that belonged to a Japanese
security professional. After this man noticed that someone had gotten into his computer he dedicated
the rest of his life to tracking down this one man. Kevin was able to say one step ahead of police for
some time but the fatal mistake that he made was leaving a voice mail message on a computer
bragging about the fact that he thought he was unstoppable. When he was arrested he faced a 250,000
dollar fine, 900 hours community service, and a 10 year jail sentence. Many schools and small
businesses still don t have a clue about how to deal with computer crimes and the like whenever they
happen to strike.

Tomi Cade Bambara The Lesson
Puppy by George Saunders and The Lesson by Tomi Cade Bambara are both stories that show the
ugly side of poverty. In Puppy the main character Marie and her kids are well off because of Marie s
husband. However, the other family in the story which include Callie and also Callie s husband and
her kids live in poverty. Marie goes to Callie s house to check out a puppy her kids are interested in.
When Marie gets there due to the class differences Marie cannot understand why Callie does things
the way she does and also why her house is the way it is. Furthermore, because Callie is living in
poverty Marie looks at her as less of a person. In The Lesson is narrated by a girl named Sylvia who
has an impoverished up brining in Harlem. In this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The negative effects can be seen in that competition for jobs in American society is so competitive that
author John Michael Roberts asserts that people, Work for free (28). While Americans tend to believe
that competition brings out the best in people, the Marxist theory states that it actually brings out the
worst in people such as greed, selfishness, and unethical actions. This can be seen by how the
characters of The Lesson and Callie s family are living in extreme poverty despite being in the richest
nations in the world. Danzinger and Danzinger assert, The child poverty rate in the US is high in
relation to the rate in other industrialized countries (57). This high poverty rate can be seen in The
Lesson and it shows how competition can leave some people at the bottom even in New York, one of
the richest states in the United States. Miss Moore sees that it is unjust for kids to be living in such
poverty and says, Imagine for a minute what kind of society it is in which some people spend on a toy
what it would cost to feed a family of six or seven ( The Lesson , Bambara 151). While some people
get rich off competing, some get left behind and many times the ones that do get ahead had to do
something unethical. Sylvia notices all of the unethical practices it takes to get ahead in a competitive
society and as a result, when Miss Moore gives Sylvia money

Titration In The Medical Field
Today, in the real world, titration is used in the medical field to find the concentration of blood and
urine. It is also used to find a certain amount of a chemical in a food. A titration is a way to the
concentration of an unknown solution by using a solution with a known concentration. The unknown
solution is called an analyte , while the known solution is called the Titrant . The glassware used in
order to preform titrations is a buret or burette . A burette is a glass cylinder with a tap on one of the
edges. It is used for measuring volumes of liquids, especially in titrations.
Standardization (sometimes referred to as standardisation) is a way of putting something or make
something into technical standards. Standardization is used when doing a titration since it finds out the
exact concentration of a solution that you want to use to find the concentration of the analyte.
An equivalence point in a titration is when the moles of the titrant equal the moles of a analyte. One
way to find the Equivalence point is through the pH indicator. This is an indicator that changes color
when there is a chemical change. An acid and base indicator changes color depending on what the pH
is. There are also Redox ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to find a standard solution you must first, add water from a cleaning bottle to dissolve it.
Second, you would need to use some of the water to rinse off all the substance off the watch glass.
This needs to be done at least two times. Then stir with a glass rod until all the of the solid substance
is dissolved, then put the solution to the volumetric flask. The laboratory method is when you drop the
titrant into the analyt. (basically titration). The results you get are titration, pH level, and the moles.
The equation to find molarity/concentration is: M1 x V1 = M2 V2. In conclusion, titration is very
useful in the modern day. It s also pretty

High Intensity Sheet Training
Want to get leaner, faster, and stronger? Looking for the best way to maximize your workouts? Then
you should try HIIT training. This acronym stands for high intensity interval training, which is one of
the most effective workouts available today. It s the perfect way to burn fat and boost your
performance while preserving lean muscle.
How Does HIIT Work?
High intensity interval training has become one of the most popular workouts for fat loss. Compared
to regular cardio, it produces better results in less time. On top of that, it melts fat away and helps
build muscle. Steady state cardio burns fat too, but it may also cause muscle loss and increase cortisol
levels. HIIT does exactly the opposite.
A typical HIIT session lasts eight to

Public Awareness of Visually Impaired Persons...
Public Awareness of Visually Impaired Persons Communication Skills It has been observed by the
researcher that in public settings often the reaction to a visually impaired person is quite different then
to that of a sighted person. Society seems to have a predisposed perception of the communication
abilities of visually impaired people. This study hopes to establish a correlation between the
perception that visually impaired people are also speech impaired when they are in a setting where
they are accompanied by another person. Statement of the Problem The purpose of this study is to
show the limitations of how people deal with visually impaired individuals on a day to day basis.

existing literature and research already completed on the problem and the findings. Chapter three will
describe the research procedure, population selection and characteristics, size of the sample, the
instrument used, and the treatment of data. Chapter four is the analysis of the data, the interpretation
of the data, and its application. Chapter five will include conclusions drawn from the data and its
analysis. Also, any conclusions or recommendations to aid future research. Chapter II Review of
Related Literature, Research Visually impaired individuals face unique challenges in their everyday
life. They are often looked upon as less than normal. Attitudes have been maintained over time by
negative connotations about these person s communication abilities. Orientation and mobility
challenges are commonplace and are a main concern with blind persons. Thrown into this mix of
challenges are the negative reinforcement visually impaired persons receive from the general public.
When the visually impaired deal with the public on a day to day basis they are often viewed as unable
to think or act normal. They are also viewed as unable to communicate without anothers help. Very
few studies have been conducted which address this issue. However, T. Aston (1990) found the

The Life Changing Experience of Caregiving Essay
The Life Changing Experience of Caregiving My interpretation of caregiving and the extensive role a
caregiver plays transformed while reading Emily Abel s novel, Hearts of Wisdom. When interviewing
my grandmother, Marjorie Waguespack, her personal experiences reinforced many of the vital factors
Abel believes are involved in caregiving. Caregiving includes major rewarding aspects from varying
standpoints. Emily Abel wholeheartedly believes, the three major components of care instrumental,
spiritual, and emotional sometimes conferred significant rewards (60). Caring for an individual can be
difficult and may require substantial sacrifice, but oftentimes the benefits outweigh the costs. With
these components, an extensive network of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If a physician was called, death was inevitable (42). My grandmother wholeheartedly disagrees with
Abel s ideas. She trusted her doctor literally with her life. Emily Abel emphasizes that doctors proved
to remain unreliable and costly. She illustrates the difficulties of summoning a physician;
transportation difficulties not only delayed doctors arrivals but also prevented them from providing
continuing care (41). My grandmother lived in a different kind of situation. The town she resided in
consisted of almost all relatives; where as in Abel s stories, the doctor most likely would be required to
travel long distances to provide care. Transportation served as a significant challenge that prevented
care from being rendered in a timely fashion, especially if major trauma or an acute sudden onset
condition was involved. My grandmother did not experience this obstacle. My grandmother explained,
[T]he doctor s office had registered nurses and a few rooms available for more care, if needed, for
twenty four hours a day. In other words, help was almost always available. The local doctor s
instrumental value benefitted the surrounding community. This local resource came in handy with her
multiple children. My grandmother had four daughters that she cared for on a daily basis. She

Figurative Language In The Secretary Chant, By Marrge Piercy
In the poem The Secretary Chant, the poet, Marge Piercy, uses figurative language to develop the
argument of how society has produced a stereotype that women should be secretaries, because being a
secretary is not always the ideal job because just like every other jobs, there may be emotional
conflicts. The way Piercy uses comprehensive imagery about the speaker s body and figurative
language to depict a woman s perspective of being a secretary interested me. Aftering reading the
poem thoroughly, each imagery and figurative language conveys how women are stereotyped to be
secretaries and why it is not always the ultimate jobs for women. The poem The Secretary Chant uses
imagery about the speaker s body parts to develop the argument of how society has produced a
stereotype that being a secretary is the perfect job for a women, but in reality being a secretary might
produce emotional conflicts. The reader can view this when the speaker states, My navel is a reject
button (15). The speaker illustrates how her belly button is a reject button. The purpose of using a
metaphor in this quote is to explain how the speaker s body is being altered to inanimate objects. The
significance of the navel is that after detaching the umbilical cord after birth, the navel no longer has a
biological purpose. This is vital because perhaps the speaker feels useless, because the speaker knows
her navel is ineffective. Since the speaker is working over time, she probably feels like she

Zamperini Argumentative Essay
Louie Zamperini is an example to follow. Not because he was an athlete or a solder, because of his
actions and motivations The most important, from my point of view, is his family. He would ve done
everything for them. That s the most important reason why he decided to change and by the same way
change others. The best example for that is when he stared running, he was doing it for his mama, for
his dad and Pete and his sisters, and that before doing it for himself. An other example is when the
Japanese gave him the opportunity to speak on radio, the first thing that he did was speaking to his
family and how much he missed them. Another remarkable thing that Zamperini did was being the life
of the raft. He was the one who was giving hope to

Big Bang Theory Analysis
Feminism and The Big Bang Theory
In the two The Big Bang Theory episodes, The Tangerine Factor and The Cognitive Regeneration ,
there are feminist ideals being represented by the characters. In summary of the episode The Tangerine
Factor , Penny says yes to going out with Leonard but is restless because he is different from the guys
she usually dates. While in The Cognitive Regeneration , Penny and Leonard are seen dating until
troubles arise as Penny s ex boyfriend appears. The ideal womanly traits are shown through Penny s
character; however, Penny s role in the TV show seem to give her more of a feminist approach. At the
same time, Leonard s traits of masculinity are put into question due to his character but also creates a
unique perspective on patriarchy. With an analysis of Penny s character without watching the TV
show, her personality would be characterized by her personality just by her looks. Penny, a main
character from The Big Bang Theory, is a white, blonde female which arguably has many sexual
politics prescribed by society even with just by being female. Basically, Penny would be characterized
as sexy, dumb (not as smart as men), dependent, and beautiful just because she is blonde. This
explains Melissa Leo s argument in Bad Feminist . Melissa Leo talked about how humans are labeled
right when they come into the world by their hair, gender, and ethnicity. With this, most stereotypes
were created such as blondes are dumb and women should be paid less

To Kill A Mockingbird Moral Education Essay
Theodore Roosevelt once said, To educate a person in the mind, but not in morals is to educate a
menace to society. These words are very accurate and relatable to Harper Lee s fictional novel To Kill
a Mockingbird. Throughout the story, Lee develops the theme of morality strong morals versus poor,
and how it impacts not only the children but the town of Maycomb, Alabama. She illustrates the idea
that our actions are not self sufficient, but rather they depend on what we have been taught what is
morally right or wrong. With that in mind, a strong moral education cannot be built without a strong
foundation. One day on their way to town, Jem and Scout Finch ran into Mrs. Dubose, their old
neighbor down the street. It had become routine to hear her vulgar comments and constant ridicule
about their father defending a nigger but on this day. Jem had decided enough was enough and
chooses to overlook the promise he had made with Atticus about being a gentleman (136). He then
retaliates by ruining her precious camellias. In spite of defending Atticus s name, Atticus was not

As for many of Lee s characters, it can be said otherwise. One of them are the Ewells, the Ewells were
described as, the disgrace of Maycomb and that none of them had done an honest day s work (30).
This may have been the result from the root of the home, Bob Ewell. Bob is a man [who] spends his
relief checks on green whiskey, [while] his children [are] crying from hunger pains. (41). These details
of the relief checks and hunger pains conveys the idea that the Ewells do not have a stable home,
especially since the head of the home is a drunk who chooses to overrule his children s necessities to
satisfy his own selfish desires. In doing so, Lee uses Bob to explain to the readers why the Ewells are
seen as such a disgrace. How could his children possibly learn right from wrong when their own father

You Think Would Happen When You Put Salt In The Boiling...
Investigation Plan
Problem
When you boil a pot of water on the stove, it takes a while until it boils. What do you think would
happen if you put salt in the boiling pot of water? When ice forms on the streets, it can be dangerous
and cause accidents. What do you think would happen if we put salt on the streets before the water
froze?
Hypothesis
When you put salt in a pot of boiling water, that will raise the temperature of the water, and the water
will boil faster. When you put salt on the streets before the water freezes, the salt will cause the water
to freeze at a lower temperature. This makes it to where the ice takes longer to freeze.

Advantages Of Collaborative Differing In Movies
rated a movie that belongs to the comedy genre, then the system can learn to recommend other movies
from this genre. Collaborative filtering: The simplest and original implementation of this approach
recommends to the active user the items that other users with similar tastes liked in the past. The
similarity in taste of two users is calculated based on the similarity in the rating history of the users.
This is the reason why collaborative filtering is often referred as people to people correlation.
Collaborative filtering is considered to be the most popular and widely implemented technique in
Recommendation systems. An item item approach models the preference of a user to an item based on
ratings of similar items by the same user. Nearest neighbors methods enjoy considerable popularity
due to their simplicity, efficiency, and their ability to produce accurate and personalized
recommendations. Demographic: This type of system recommends items based on the demographic

  • 4. Safety Of The Hpv Vaccine Essay Safety of the HPV Vaccine There have been concerns about the safety of the HPV vaccines. In Basu s (2013) article they reviewed the evidence from the phase III trials and national programs for the HPV vaccine. After reviewing the data though the article showed that all the randomized control trials reported both their serious and non serious adverse events that took place during the phase III trials. There were 20,000 participants in the trial (p.4). Pain at the injection site, headache, and fatigue were the most frequently reported issues. The serious adverse effects were very rare so the vaccine was considered safe. When reviewing the safety data from the national programs in Australia there were millions of doses given out and the most adverse side effects there were anaphylactic and allergic reactions, and these were not seen as any more dangerous than it is for other vaccines. In the US about 40 million doses were given out and among the reports that were received by the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System which totaled 20,096 only 8% of these reports were actually were considered serious (p.5). All the reports were reviewed and could not find any adverse events that occurred that could be ascribed to the vaccine. In the UK they reviewed the vaccine two years after it came out and concluded it to be safe. Reviewing the data from all three counties in the national programs showed that none of the deaths that occurred could be linked to the vaccine. So both the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Canter Fair Description We are peasants in medieval times that work hard every day and try to make a living and this is our story. In a small home outside of Canterbury lived four men and their families named Arthur, Drake, Griffo, and Hrodebert. All four of them were experienced armorers but they needed money because they can t afford a simple meal. Our houses were made out of wood, straw, and mud. At the first crack of dawn, we entered the kitchen for breakfast. We can t drink water anymore due to a recent discovery of dirty water in rivers. Lately, we have been drinking ale or cider. Our typical meals are dark bread, pottage, and soup. The pottage was flavored with vegetables, beans, peas, bacon, salted pork. In the winter we had a few vegetables that we would eat ... We can make a bad set of armor and place it in the middle, wait for the two men to return, follow them, attack their base, and finally get the armor back! The 3 of them thought it was a great plan and so they all went back to the contest to start crafting armors. As soon as they were done, they went to put the bad set of armor in the middle. All of the sudden, a scream was heard from a distance. It was the city of Canterbury! All of the fruits and foods have been stolen. The four boys went to see what had happened and who stole the food. It was the two men. They were masked men, thieves. The four men quickly put on their armor and rushed to find the men. It turns out, the men were none other than Gavin and Robin! Gavin and Robin were there with a huge army standing behind them. The four boys slowly backed away. The four boys the looked behind them to see all of the armorers that participated in the contest in armor suits. Break a leg, Griffo! Hrodebert said sarcastically. Ha Ha, thats so funny! One member of the team, Michaels Jones, tells us this, and explains how difficult it is to fit these fundraisers into her already busy schedule. Having the cheerleaders, and band at football games is an important part of the atmosphere and is one aspects many students consider when choosing a school. Scholarships are something that are often associated with the thought of college athletics, and are used as a way to bring individuals to a particular university. These are an important part of building a team of the best athletes possible. At the University of South Florida, scholarship opportunities for cheerleaders are very minimal. With $24,000 yearly given to this team for this purpose, $500 maximum is available to each student ( Operating Budget ). Due to this lack of funding, many members of the team must have outside jobs in order to make do throughout the school year. Having a job, as well as participating in the 25+ hours of cheerleading related activities, and maintaining eligibility GPA can put a large strain on the athlete ( USF Spirit Squads ). Recruitment budget is also an important aspect of continual growth of a team and a way to bring new students to the university. Medical treatments would be individually based and this would ultimately protect the privacy of the person. So, therapeutic cloning will get the organs and it would create the person s own cells. There would be a much reduced risk of organ rejections once a transplant procedure was successfully completed. Therapeutic cloning is more safer than reproductive cloning. Reproductive cloning would foster an understanding of children, and of people in general, as objects that can be designed to possess specific characteristics. As president, Bush said, we must advance the promise and cause of science, but must do so in a way that honors and respects life . There may be a few obstacles that may stop me from meeting my weekly target. The most common techniques are IP Blocking, DNS filtering and redirection, URL filtering, Packet filtering and Connection reset . In light of these filtering and censorship methods, citizens of china have managed to circumvent their government s censorship by accessing the internet through proxies and VPN s. A proxy re routs a users request via another server, so that it appears that the request is coming from that server. The website being access sends the data back to the proxy and the proxy forwards it to the user. The proxy will only secure traffic via the internet browser. Unlike a Proxy, a VPN encrypts all traffic, not just the web browser. Programs like TOR (The Onion Router) are designed to allow users to navigate around the firewall and encrypt their traffic. These immigrants are coming into America for many different reasons. The main immigrants into America are from Mexico, but many do come from El Salvador too. Some immigrants like economic migrants, come to America because of job availability and more money. For example, in Mexico poverty and unemployment is a major problem, and by 2012 55.3 million out of 120 million were poor. Restorative justice programs are an example of this. These restorative programs aim to impose less severe sanctions on offenders to reduce the risk of offenders viewing their punishment as unjust. This is accomplished by making offenders aware of the harm they caused and allow offenders to have a say in the sanction they are subjected to. The unknown solution is called an analyte , while the known solution is called the Titrant . The glassware used in order to preform titrations is a buret or burette . A burette is a glass cylinder with a tap on one of the edges. It is used for measuring volumes of liquids, especially in titrations. Standardization (sometimes referred to as standardisation) is a way of putting something or make something into technical standards. Standardization is used when doing a titration since it finds out the exact concentration of a solution that you want to use to find the concentration of the analyte. An equivalence point in a titration is when the moles of the titrant equal the moles of a analyte. One way to find the Equivalence point is through the pH indicator.
