Involvement And The Effect On The Failure Of The Terrorist...
In this presentation, I will discuss some examples of failed cooperation and the impact on the failure
to prevent the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001; the likelihood of improving cooperation, given
the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission; verify whether the reforms recommended have been
implemented and of course give some recommendation if any. However, before I dabble into that, I
will like to start with intelligence definition, brief history and evolution of intelligence in the United.
Intelligence as we already discussed, deals with the process of collecting, analyzing, and providing
refined information to the policy makers, which they uses to form decisions about potential threats to
national security and how to prevent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Chiefly among them was the Japanese surprise attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. The aftermath of this
lead to the creation of the National Intelligence Authority, a Central Intelligence Group in 1946; and
subsequently enacted into law the National Security Act of 1947 that served as the organizational basis
for the US conduct of the Cold War. The 1947 act also established the Central Intelligence Agency
who will be responsible for the national intelligence mission (Federation of American Scientists,
1996). Also, the influence and prosecution of the cold war contributed largely into the development of
the most basic forms and practices of the U.S intelligence capability (Lowenthal, 2014, p.16). But the
Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1995 was enacted in the fall of 1994 to advance and
harmonize counterintelligence and security practices across the Intelligence Community, especially
the FBI and CIA (Public Law, 1994).
How and why intelligence and law enforcement agencies failed to appreciate the threat before the
actual attacks
However, during the late 1990s, there were increased interests by terrorist organizations to carry out
against the United States and her interests Worldwide. Typical examples among them were the 1993
World Trade Center bombing, and the East Africa U.S. embassy bombings in1998. This led to concern

The Underground Economy And Its Effects On Canada
While the underground economy might benefit individuals involved in the trades and make some part
of the society happy, it is creating a bad cycle that brings negative third party effects on Canada and
should be eliminated as much as possible. Underground economy, also known as the black market, is
when sellers and buyers trade their goods and services then on purposely unreported the business
activity to evade the price controls. That includes avoiding the price ceilings, the price floors and tax
rates set by the Government. The black market is the second largest type of market in the world,
occurring in both developed and developing countries. All kinds of goods and services are available in
an underground economy. The most commonly traded are goods and services that are available in the
official market, but at a lower cost in the black market, or goods and services that have a limited
supply in the official market, but are sold at an elevated price in the black market. Despite the trade
being illegal, as long as both the seller and buyer comes to an agreement on the price, they trade
privately with cash to avoid being detected. Although many sellers get away with this, at the end of
the day underground economy is a continued cycle of affecting the country and its citizens, including
sellers and buyers in the black market, mostly its tax revenues will be affected, then the GDP, and
finally its citizens. All black market trades are done in the shadows, but if the root

3.0 Critical Appraisal. This Chapter Will Explore The Main
3.0 CRITICAL APPRAISAL This chapter will explore the main themes that have been identified from
the four pieces of research selected for use in this literature review. The articles consist of two
qualitative papers, one quantitative and one mixed methods. Two papers are from the United States,
one is Australian and One is from the Republic of Ireland. No papers from the United Kingdom have
been selected due to the lack of recent research on the selected topic and inferior quality of the
available material. Moreover, the similarities within the Emergency departments are such that the
research is both generalizable and transferable and can be applied in a British hospital setting. The

Furthermore, the researches included a chaplain and a social worker in the survey, thus making the
suitability of the participants questionable, which may invalidate the results (Parahoo, 2014). The
study concluded that the majority of healthcare providers (HP S) were supportive of FWR (73%)
despite concerns regarding the behaviour of family members and concern for the emotional burden
that they associated with witnessing resuscitation. However, most participants stressed that they would
prefer a designated member of staff to accompany the witnesses during the resuscitation (Lederman
and Wacht, 2014). In contrast, a study by Bushby et al (2012), which comprised of a self completed
anonymous questionnaire of all HP s within the ED of a single Australian hospital; found that the
preponderance of staff who were opposed to FWR perceived that it would have a negative emotional
impact on the family member. Their concerns focused on the prospect of the witness developing Post
traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). However, there is a wealth of strong evidence to suggest the
contrary (Jabre et al, 2013; Hanson et al, 2005; Holzhauser et al; 2006 and Meyer et al, 2000. This
suggests that awareness of current FWR research is limited, and implies that education programmes

Winnie s Women Struggle
Drawing, crafting, and cutting the Chinese characters took longer than what was predicted, mainly due
to the delicate care and precaution I committed. The reason why I did this was because I was trying to
configure it in such a way that the characters display a delicate and refined structure. Although the
characters translated to Women Struggle , I also incorporated some details that represent society s
status quo for women. For instance, for the phrase women should look charming and act perky , I
made sure that the slices and cuts were somewhat precise. Despite trying so hard to perfect the cuts, it
was just too difficult to master, but that is also another meaning. With the little slivers of paper jutting
out, it demonstrates that women ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first artifact is a found poem called She Who Was Forgotten. This is a broad overview of how
society favors men over women, leaving females mistreated and somewhat abandoned. In addition, it
should be read from the perspective of a woman facing oppression in China. The second artifact are
pictures of the Chinese activity for women called foot binding. This excruciating act was solely for
women to become aesthetically pleasing and follow the societal norm of a frail and tiny female body.
The gruesome images should grant the reader an emotion of disgust and apathy towards society,
motivating them to seek change as well. The third artifact is the poster in which the artifacts will be
glued on. The poster will be red and embody a symbolic meaning behind it, encapsulating why color
is so prominent in Chinese culture. The final artifact is the Chinese characters. Not only will it
illustrate the literary technique that Tan writes, but it will also serve as a title. In addition, the reason
why the title will be in Chinese is because it should look very smooth, sleek, and pretty much like how
society wants their women. As a note to the reader, please keep in mind that this whole project is
allegorical, and they should try to sympathize with the struggle that women faced at the time. It will

Why Choose The Caribbean
The Caribbean doesn t seem so impressive when you look at a map of the location. It s just a bunch of
little specks surrounded by tons of ocean water. Names like Caicos Island, Turks, and Nevis... Saint
Kitts, Anguilla and Montserrat aren t exactly household names. But, just because the names aren t all
too familiar, it doesn t change the fact that the Caribbean is a very popular vacation destination. The
little specks on the map are actually island paradises. There are over seven thousand islets, reefs,
islands and caves in the Caribbean just begging to be explored; so many of them are nearly
unpopulated and absolutely gorgeous. In choosing your Caribbean vacation, the largest challenge you
are apt to face is exactly where to go. All nations in the Caribbean have beautiful weather. Most of the
islands feature lovely beaches. The warm, beautiful, crystal waters are immensely enjoyable and just
as with any other island nation, the locals will welcome you with warm smiles and open arms. Picking
the destination is indeed the toughest challenge. Here are some great resources that will help you do
the necessary research to choose the best locale for your holiday. ... Show more content on

Analysis Of Dinner With Friends By Donald Margulies
There were many plays that I could have chosen from, but this one Dinner with Friends by Donald
Margulies caught my attention. I found it so interesting and very well written which made me want to
actually write my director s notebook about. I chose this play because I liked how it was being told.
The way the author wrote this play was very unique. I also liked the play itself because a lot of these
stuff are happening today in the world we live in and so there is a lot of comparing between the play
and reality. I have a lot of ideas on how this play can be performed and different designs which made
me choose this play. I also found it interesting which motivated me to do it. Donald Margulies was
born in Brooklyn, New York. He and his wife, Lynn Street, have been married for twenty one years.
He mentioned that the play he wrote Dinner with Friends was a reflection of the circumstances and
changes of relationship such as his and his wife s since they have been married for a long time. He
also said that there are problems and consequences when people fall apart.
This play is a great play because a lot of people can relate to it.The play is considered a drama. The
play was commissioned by Actors Theatre of Louisville and had its world premiere at the Humana
Festival of New American Plays in March 1998. This play has been revised twice throughout the
years. The first revised version was in October 1998 and the second one that was revised was in
October 1999. Then it

The Role of Abuse in British India in Forster s Passage to...
In a Passage to India the author, E. M Forster sends the message of India s mistreatment and
misrepresentation by Britain. Throughout the novel, the reader is able to observe how British and
Indian characters are treated differently. The author demonstrates the British perspective of Indians
being the ignorant characters in the novel, whose company leads to troubles. Another aspect of the
British perspective is that Indians are being treated as inferiors to the British in their own country,
because if it were not for the British, the social and political order in India will descend into chaos.
The author demonstration of the British perspective encourages the reader to feel sympathetic towards
Indians. Whenever Aziz and Ronny meet, Ronny ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As Adela and Mrs. Moore take a neutral position towards Indians, the author provides their reaction to
the British behavior at the bridge party as a catalyst to encourage the reader to feel sympathetic
towards Indians. Adela says at the bridge party this party today makes me so angry......Fancy inviting
gusts and not treating them properly. (pg.47). Adela s reaction reinforces the picture that the author
draws of how Indians are being treated improperly, despite the fact that they show all sort of respect
towards the British colonialists. Adela s reaction also provides a clarification that not every British
colonialist thinks that Indians should be treated as inferiors to the British, which serves the author well
as it questions the validity of the author s betrayal to his country. Another situation where the British
perspective is demonstrated is when Ronny learns that his mother, Mrs. Moore has met Aziz in the
mosque. Despite the fact that Ronny does not even know who has his mother met at the mosque, it
angers him that his mother was talking to a native Indian, and he begins to question her in a serious
tone of voice as if she has disgraced him. Later on Ronny and his mother get into an argument about
how Ronny should treat Indians, and Ronny says what do you and Adela want me to do? Go against
my class, against all the people that I respect and admire out here? (pg.51).

Essay on Linking Eating Disorders With Genetics
While Bulimia is known by many names, the term bulimia did not enter the English language until the
1970s, perhaps representing lingering uncertainty about its essence (Gordon, 2000). Bulimia, as we
know it, is a modern disease, however, there is some evidence of binging and purging in ancient times;
for example, in ancient Egypt, physicians would recommend periodical purgation as a health practice
(Gordon, 2000). There has also been documentation of wealthy families in the middle ages vomiting
during meals in order to continue eating large amounts of food. At this point, you may be wondering
why these examples are not considered Bulimia Nervosa. According to Dr. Richard Allan Gordon,
author of Eating Disorders: Anatomy of a Social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is now defined as Recurring episodes of eating significantly more food in a short period of time than
most people would eat under similar circumstances, with episodes marked by feelings of lack of
control.... The person may have feelings of guilt, embarrassment, or disgust and may binge eat alone
to hide the behavior . It is important to note that there is a difference between over eating and binge
eating, while over eating is a recognizable problem for many people, binge eating is much less
common, far more severe, and associated with significant physiological and psychological problems
(DSM 5). Binge Eating Disorder is similar to Bulimia Nervosa in that we see episodes of eating large
amounts of food, the difference being that there is no purging after the binging episode. It is seen
highly among obese patients, but, perhaps due to a reluctance to relate obesity with an eating disorder,
it was not recognized as distinct from Bulimia Nervosa until the early 1990s (Gordon, 2000). Some of
the first documented cases of Anorexia Nervosa were religious in origin. As early as the 12th century
we saw women, particularly in Western Christianity, known as Miracle Maidens who were highly
esteemed for their self control, their holy anorexia was thought of as a gift from God. Some scholars
have stated the intense relationship

Theoretical Frameworks For Counselling Offer Guiding...
Theoretical frameworks in counselling offer guiding perspectives and direction informing professional
practice. As a practitioner I am drawn to post modernist approaches that position the human
experience as a social construction, and reality as a result of perception, language and culture ( ).
Embedded however within that social construction for me is the necessity to consider the broader
social and political climate and issues of power that may play a role in the human experience. As a
counsellor, I would like to align with a therapeutic approach that values the diversity and experience
of multiple realities, and that supports clients in finding their power both within and outside the
counselling session. Embracing the client counsellor ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Armed with this new awareness, the therapeutic process from a feminist perspective was
reconceptualized to include an emphasis on social and political forces and an acknowledgement of
their role in disempowerment for women (Brown, 2010). Additionally, the seed of creating a more
respectful and humanistic approach to the counselling relationship was planted. Raising the
consciousness of clients around power and focusing on societal transformation rather than individual
adjustment became the identify of feminist therapy and to what Lerner (1993) referred to as the
feminist consciousness . This perspective afforded practitioners a new way to view problems
presented in therapy.
Enns (2004) highlighted two such new views related to client problems. First, the perspective that, the
personal is political emphasized that problems arising for women within therapy cannot be
disconnected from the larger social and political context. To consider problems in therapy solely on an
intrapersonal level is to perpetuate a blame the victim orientation. Therefore, it was essential that an
integrated analysis of oppression was explored. Second, problems and symptoms may be conceived of
as ways of coping and surviving oppressive circumstances. Anxiety may be reframed, not as the result
of a suppressed unconscious or the inability to cope, but rather as a reasonable response to sexisms,
violence or

Disinhibition In The Case Of David Michael Kalac
On November 4, 2014, a series of graphic images were posted to the blogging site 4chan. These
photographs were not sexual in nature, nor did they contain drug paraphernalia. They were of a

caption read, Turns out it s way harder to strangle someone to death than it looks in the movies...I just
wanted to share the pics before they find me (Johnson Helsel, 2014). Later that week, 33 year old

What did he have to gain? He posted anonymously to the blogging site 4chan. Clearly his aim was not
to use the pictures as a trophy, but as something more. At times, personal disclosure alleviates stress
and perhaps guilt. Radcliffe et. al. examined the effect of written disclosure on the easing of stress.
Their study indicated written disclosure, when it is presented to an audience, leads to reduced anxiety
and less emotional distress for the author (Radcliffe, Lumley, Kendall, Stevenson, Beltran, 2007). In
this particular study, it was concluded that writers work to share more information about their situation
than they may have in a written disclosure they would have kept private, such as a diary entry. Their
shared writings likely had more sensitive information to explain the situation, and thus led to less
depression, reduced interpersonal sensitivity, and lesser physical symptoms of stress when shared
(Radcliffe, Lumley, Kendall, Stevenson, Beltran, 2007). In Kalac s case, he may have been attempting
to lessen his burden of guilt by disclosing the photographs of what he had done, along with the
caption. His wording, Just wanted to share these pic before they find me, do not offer explanation of
the crime, but registers his guilt and acknowledges that he must eventually answer for his crimes
(Johnson Helsel, 2014). The Radcliffe et. al. study does not mention the impact of written disclosures

The Importance Of Media In Mass Media
There are many different media outlets, and alternatives available to individuals in today s society to
receive information other than what is available in mass media. One alternative media is PBS. PBS is
unlike many programming stations around the nation. Their idea is to treat people like citizens and not
as consumers. On the Public Broadcasting Service website, it describes how their take on the news is
quite different from other stations. They believe that they are America s largest classroom, the Nation
s largest stage, and a trusted window to the world (2016). I am going to describe in the following
paper the background of the Public Broadcasting Service, how their view is different than corporate
giants, and what type of future does a company like this have in the kind of media world we live in
today.
Public Broadcasting Service is a different kind of media outlet than many. PBS different than other
media sectors because it is a private and a nonprofit corporation (2016). The people that make PBS the
company it is today is the people that belong to America s television. The people of America s
television are noncommercial, educational licensees that operate in 350 member stations and serve all
50 states (2016). PBS does not only provide broadcasting to the fifty states in the United States, but
they also inform the people of Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, and American Samoa (2016).

The majority of literary critics would not hesitate in praising the works

This story is essentially a saga, telling the story of the creation

My Motorcycle Wreck
All my life I have been around motorcycles. My father used to let me ride on the back with him when
I was a young child. I remember the feeling that I would get when he would accelerate. As soon as I
could touch the ground, I owned a dirt bike. I used to love going fast and wheeling down the road for
the neighborhood girls to see. We used to spend hours working on bikes together. That is when I
started to become obsessed with motorcycles.
January 31st, 2016 is the day that I got my first motorcycle. It was the day my fiancé and I were
moving to Jacksonville, Florida. We drove for about twenty minutes, until I got a call from my cousin.
He said, Cody I will trade my motorcycle for your car. So, we met in the Walmart parking lot in Hot
Springs Village, Arkansas. When he pulled up with the motorcycle, I was excited. Then, I took a joy
ride around the parking lot. I could not believe I finally could have my own motorcycle. I traded my
car with a bad transmission for the bike. We were barely able to pick the back of the bike up to get it
in the U Haul truck. When we got here the movers had beat us here, and were waiting impatiently. So,
when we opened the back of the truck and they saw my heavy motorcycle they were thrilled.
Five months later, I have been living here for a little while now and driving my motorcycle
everywhere has become normal for me. One night, I was on my way to work at the nursing home. I

Taiwan experienced a lot of disasters in recent several years, including a huge earthquake in 1999, air
crash in 1998 and 2001, and many typhoons and floods every year and SARS in 2003. These incidents
created demands that challenged our medical infrastructures. The emergency medical preparedness
programs evolved a lot in response to medical surge in these disasters.
In our system, several characteristics should be clarified in the beginning:
1. In our multiple casualty incident plans require to send hospital doctors to the incidents immediately
to save lives, disregarding what they can do or if the scene is under control. The emergency medical

A Window into Thinking During The Gilded Age in the Book...
In the latter chapters, Julian gains a love interest. He falls in love with Edith Leete, the daughter, who

However, this was not enough because social change was not instigated by labor or political parties
but by the vow by mankind to persevere and conquer the old order and usher in the new. Mr. Bellamy

Grief Case Studies
Historically, it was considered that people with learning disabilities were unable to experience the
feeling of grief following bereavement. It was considered that the person s emotional and intellectual
developments were aligned (Blackman, 2003). Read (2005) shared this view, agreeing that any views
from carers and professionals conveyed that people with learning disabilities were unable to grieve or
respond to death. This was attributed to their level of cognition and the inability to fully understand
the meaning of loss, death and dying (Read, 2005). This was taken to the extent of excluding people
with learning disabilities from experiencing loss altogether, by not informing them about the death of
their family member or friend (Grey, 2010). In a recent study, Dowling et al (2006) suggests that in

people with learning disabilities have the same rights as those without learning disabilities, so should

is thought they have a limited understanding, or may cause unnecessary fuss and difficulties for their

Case Study Of Onions
Allium Ascalonicum Linn. (Liliaceae)
1. Introduction
1.1 Onions
Onions are from the specie Allium of the family Alliaceae is the most historic cultivar of vegetables
that have been famous for their use in ornamentals, spices, vegetables and medications. An estimate of
about 700 different types of species are currently present and grown throughout the world and are
admired for their flavor, easy growth and extended shelf life. It is important to note that all the species
are close in bio chemical, phytochemical contents whereas the form and taste differs. The organoleptic
properties are due to the rich content of sulfur compounds that other than organoleptic properties
contribute to anti oxidant and anti microbial activity. [1]
The two main categories of the underground bulb are:
Green Onion also called as Scallions
Dry Onion that are the mature adaptation of Green Onions.
The onions evolves in various colors, shape and flavors. However, when processed such as boiled they
change into translucent. Being seasonal, the onion are further classified as:
Spring/Summer Onions:
Having high water content they have thin and light colored skin thus have low shelf life and are
delicate. The flavor ranges from sweet to mild and are extensively used in Salads, Sandwiches etc.

This is because the bad handling results into the potential bulb decay, germination and hence declined
retail prices. The most appropriate manner to handle the increased growth of shallot is that the shallot
powder must be manufactured which is widely used as raw material in various industries as Snack
production, Seasoning for cooking and finally medications. Drying can be held of the shallots by using
Oven Dryers by the addition of Sodium Meta bisulphite as an anti browning agents. However their use
is limited due to increasing allergenic reactions.

Betacyanin Essay
Effects of temperature manipulation and solution treatment on the Beta vulgaris craca plant cell
membrane and the change of the concentration of betacyanin when placed under these various stresses
Introduction:
The Beta vulgaris craca plant, commonly referred to as the beet root contains a pigment, red in colour,
called betacyanin. The betacyanin s containment within the cells of the beet root cell relies on the
stability of the plant s membrane structure. The manipulation of the cell s membranes through
temperature change and solution treatments often causes damage to the vacuoles within the cell which
contain betacyanin. Poovaiah and Leopold released a similar scientific publication in 1976 which
analyzed the effects of inorganic salts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Performing this experiment provides evidence and example of how various stresses effect this
membrane and to what extent will they remain intact.
Materials and Methods:
To obtain the standard curve for betacyanin, a spectrophotometer was used to measure the absorbance
level of the various concentrations of betacyanin within the water solvent. The beet root was cut up
into tiny 5mm uniformed disks to allow for the maximum leakage per test tube.
In order to observe the effects of the various temperature manipulations, the test was performed six
times at various temperatures. For this test the beets were placed into separate non permeable plastic
bags and were then completely submerged in several water baths set at the temperatures of 25ºC, 5ºC,
25ºC, 45ºC, 65ºC and 85ºC for 2 minutes each. Once the plastic bags were removed from the baths,
the beet discs themselves were removed and then placed into different test tubes of water with the
temperatures set at room temperature for fifteen minutes. The test tubes underwent vigorous spinning
by a vortex machine every five minutes to allow for maximum leakage results per beet disk
manipulation. Once the beets sat in the water for fifteen minutes, 2mL of the surrounding solvent was
poured into a cuvette to be measured with the spectrophotometer.
To observe to level of betacyanin leaked from the cells membrane through further analysis, a solvent
stress test was performed on

Argumentative Copy Of The Conservative Party
CONSERVATIVE PARTY The conservative are a group that focuses more on profit from businesses
then they do in environmental protection. They are motivated by personal profit and will do anything

dollars. They don t care about what gets in the way or if anyone gets hurt, they only cares if they get

Light Intensity lab
Research Question
Does light intensity affect the rate of photosynthesis in algae beads?
I was hoping to discover what plants thrive in different lights for future references. I was hoping to
find relevant information that will help me make decisions on what plants to purchase.
Hypothesis
Light intensity does affect the rate of photosynthesis. Too much light may cause plants to burn out or
stop producing oxygen while too little light will not provide enough light for optimal photosynthesis
activity and CO2 would stop be taken in and oxygen would stop being produced.
Background
When using algae beads and a CO2 indicator, the process of Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration
can be measured. In this experiment the intensity of light will be altered in each trail, and the rate of
Photosynthesis will then be measured. As you rise from low light intensity to higher light intensity, the
rate of photosynthesis will increase because there is more light available to drive the reactions of
photosynthesis. However, once the light intensity gets high enough, the rate won t increase anymore
since there will be more light than water and CO2; there will not be enough components from light,
water, and CO2 to create the process of Photosynthesis. As CO2 dissolves and the amount of CO2
goes up, the pH will lower, which means the solutions color will change varying form red, orange and
yellow, all pending on what the pH is at. CO2 will be produced from respiration, all while
photosynthesis absorbs the CO2. This means that when the rate of photosynthesis is less than
respiration, pH levels will decrease, and CO2 concentration will increase. Vis versa, when pH levels
increase and CO2 concentration decreases, the photosynthesis rate is greater than the respiration rate.
When limiting amount of light that is allowed to be transmitted, Neutral density filters can be used.
These filers reduce the amount of light that is allowed to pass through. In this experiment the neutral
density filters will be used to decrease the amount of light that is allowed to penetrate the algae beads.
Two different density s will be test through this experiment, one density, which is

The Effects Of Music On Children On Music And...
The brain is a complex organism that is stuffed in our skull to help up to move, think, learn, live. As
the brain progresses through the stages of development, one of the things that really helps to have it
develop right is music. Have you ever noticed how expecting mothers listen to music during
pregnancy. This has many benefits, for one it helps the child bond with the mother, knowing her type
of music and getting to know what she likes and her strengths and weaknesses. This makes for a
stronger bond with the mother. It also helps with the development of the child, finding joy in music
and understanding the awesome power of it. As we get older we start to really like whatever type of
music we like but when we go back to that music that we heard while still not even born we get a
warm fuzzy feeling that only comes from your mom listening to music while she was pregnant with
you. As we grow up and move to middle school our brains start to have a different thing that happens
and the rest of our body starts to change and we start to gravitate toward being our own person and
like our own music. Music is a huge part of our lives and helps us through our development stages.
Our brains are not done fully developing till we are 25 and the only way that we get through all of that
is by listening to music and really giving ourselves the best chance to have our brains develop right. I
m not saying that by not listening to music our brains can t develop, I m just saying that

Anonymous Trust On Online Communities Essay
Anonymous Trust in Online Communities Introduction: Online communities are no different from
communities that you may find elsewhere, but in some cases identities of the users are not revealed.
Communities where this is the case it is impossible for individuals to form a meaningful relationship
with trust. However, the communities where individuals are not anonymous it is possible for trust to
be built between these individuals. This paper is meant to take a Kantian approach with respect to The
Metaphysics of Morals to identify whether trust within online communities, specifically those that use
anonymity such as 4Chan and Reddit, is possible; as well as look at communities where anonymity is
not present and how users are able to develop trust, such as Facebook. Through this paper, I will be
using Bjorn Myskja s The Categorical Imperative and the Ethics of Trust to look at how anonymity
shapes trust in communities. Once I have a developed a firm conclusion on how Kant and Myskja
believe trust can be gained, I will analyze the community that does this by not utilizing anonymity,
Facebook and Myspace, by observing Trust and Privacy Concern Within Social Networking Sites: A
Comparison of Facebook and MySpace from the AIS Electronic Library. Once the conclusion has
been made as to how an online community develops trust I will look at the Community of 4Chan. This
will serve as a starting point for analyzing the communities that utilize anonymity. 4chan and /b/: An

polyurethanes, engineering plastics, styrenic foams and specialty plastic, which are used in the
consumer, transportation, construction and industrial sector. Polyurethanes, BASF s major product,
consists of the A component and B component. The chemical company Wanhua, which is located in
China, only sells the B component and is therefore not a competitor for BASF regarding the A

Hence, the main competitors of BASF are Dow, Bayer and Huntsman (Coenen, 2014).

China s Annual Business Climate
Introduction
A large number of international companies started establishing their business in China due to its
attraction as a low cost production base and the growing importance of the Chinese domestic market
to the world economy, and its attraction as a low cost production base. China gradually opened its
consumer market of over 1.3 billion people to the rest of the world since 1990s. It is true that China
represents a huge market for international that where these opportunities lie and how to access them,
as it can be extremely challenging (Hexter and Woetzel, 2007). There are many retail firms such as
Procter Gamble, Unilever, Metro, Tesco, Walmart, and Carrefour which are trying to grasp those
opportunities. According to a China annual business climate survey, 2016 (American Chamber of
Commerce in People s Republic of China), 71% of the member firms stated that their businesses was
running profitable. Report by Kearney (2013), lists China as the topmost desirable developing retail
market in the world and predicted that in coming years it will also be the largest world market for
luxury goods. Despite the the rapidly growing economy of China many international companies are
struggling for success such as Tesco, Walmart, best Buy, Groupon, google and many more (Hingley

The Chinese developed the first compass as early as the 3rd century B.C.E. The first Chinese
compasses were pieces of a magnetic mineral called lodestone. Earth itself is like a giant magnet with
north and south poles. Because lodestone is magnetic, it is influenced by Earth s magnetic poles. If
you put a piece of lodestone on wood and float it in a bowl of water, the lodestone will turn until it
points in a north south direction.
The Chinese also made sea travel safer by improving boat construction. By the 2nd century C.E., they

and sealed each section with caulk, a sealant that keeps out water. If there were a leak, it would be

The International Standards Organization ( Iso )
The International Standards Organization (ISO) produces guidelines for organizations to use as a
quality management tool. ISO functions as an independent organization with no governmental ties,
allowing themselves to create guidelines that are not catered more specifically to one country than
another. One hundred and sixty two national standards bodies make up its membership and they help
supply experts who will share knowledge and develop international standards. These voluntary,
market relevant, and consensus based standards are produced as a result of the identification of a
global need and are compiled through the work of international experts working in conjunction with
one another. In 1987, the first version of ISO guidelines was released. It was heavily based on the
older UK Standard BS 5750 with three kinds of quality management systems. An organization would
select one of these systems by evaluating the scope of their activities (The British Assessment
Bureau). ISO 9001:1987 Model for quality assurance in design, development, productions,

signing of the act would consolidate a détente era between the USSR, its satellites and the West.
However, the consequences of this Act are seen with different interpretations. On one hand, the
Helsinki Accords contributed to the parity between the USSR and the United States. On the other
hand, the signing is seen as the beginning of the demise of the Soviet Union.

After Khrushchev s liberal regime, Brezhnev reinforced a conservative regime. Censorship and
persecution of dissidents was still enforced in the USSR .
In the USSR s view the term dissident represents a cunning propaganda maneuver, intended to confuse
the public . The government claimed that they respected freedom of speech, however, their actions
demonstrated the opposite. Soviets were even institutionalized in psychiatric hospitals or deported
from the USSR . Dissidents mainly protested through literature and other artistic media. They
criticized their government for lack of progress and suppression of human rights. The spreading of
dissident opinion was primarily distributed through the samizdat, self published writings or pamphlets

Brezhnev s Foreign Policy
Brezhnev s foreign policy had three specific aims. The first one was to maintain the socialist influence

Essay On How Hormones Can Affect A Woman s Behavior
How Hormones Can Affect A Woman s Moods
Women have a relatively unique hormonal system when compared to men. Men have a relatively
static hormone system with stable levels of pituitary and gonadal hormones throughout their daily
lives, suffering from decreasing levels of testosterone after the age of 30 40. Usually this gradual
change does not markedly affect male mood.
Women, on the other hand, spend much of their reproductive lives with a cyclical pattern of hormones
that change on a day to day basis. The cycle repeats itself every month and the fluctuations alone can
contribute to changes in everyday mood.
In the beginning of the cycle, the LH and FSH levels are low. The FSH gradually rises in order to

and get prescribed selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors or SSRIs like Prozac, Lexapro, or Celexa.
These can reduce many of the emotional symptoms so typical of having PMDD or even milder
premenstrual symptoms.
Hyperthyroid Conditions
Women are at a higher risk of hypothyroid or hyperthyroid conditions when compared to men. This
means they have a higher risk of these hormonally related conditions affecting mood and outlook on
life. Hypothyroidism is much more common than hyperthyroidism but both syndromes can lead to

Theory of Evolution Essay
Man could not evolve to any other state, because he was made in the ultimate state. He was made in
the image and likeness of the Father so there was no need for evolution; hence, there was no sign of
evolution from the beginning. Since sin came into the world, man has been deceived into thinking
there is evolution. We are not talking about the theory of evolution that says man started from an
amoeba or as an ape and eventually began to walk upright; not that evolution, but evolution in the
sense of development. There are developments in the earth and therefore it can be considered as a
form of evolution, but truly would it be classified as evolving, because man has not gotten better?
De evolution from birth. Man is born and he dies, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
See how you have been raised to believe a lie. Momma taught us that, daddy taught us that, grandma
taught us that. Uncles and aunts, and teachers told you that you need to be independent. They were
teaching you to rebel; that is what was being taught to you. Teaching you to rebel, honing that spirit in
you to rebel.
Get your own. This breeds selfishness. It is about mine, myself, me and I. God was never about me,
myself, and I; that is why He made man in His image and likeness, because God is about equality. He
is about equality, not about better than or less than. Independence was not evident in the beginning,
neither was evolution. If evolution was evident in the beginning then this would suggest that man
could be better than God, which would mean then that the man that God made was never very good,
he had flaws. God neither creates anything flawed, because he was made in His image and likeness,
and that would mean that God would have flaws, and we know God neither has flaws.
From the time of beginning there was no de evolution. The de evolution state would be that of back
sliding and some years ago in our teaching I showed you that Adam never backslide though he
disobeyed and sinned. He was never a backslider. Neither did Satan backslide, because there was
nothing to backslide to. That is why the Bible said that Satan is the father of lies, which means he is

Overcoming Esteem And Self-Confidence
Overcoming fear is one of the greatest challenges that you will face as you learn how to improve your
self esteem and self confidence.
Imagine that you lived in the 17th century when there were no airplanes and parachutes. Imagine that
you lived happily with your family at the top of the mountain until you ran out of food and water. You
can see all the water and the food that you need to help your family survive from the top of the
mountain. However, to reach the water and food you need to overcome your fear and jump from the
mountain top to the ground. You know that when you jump you will dive into the river beneath the
mountain and not suffer physical injury. You also know that it will change your life to jump because
you will be able to gather all the food and water that your family needs, but you need to overcome the
fear and doubt that is holding you back. You also need to overcome questions triggered by fear on
your mind and make you anxious, what if I hit the rock , What if I find no way to climb back up ,
What if...
Our lives are not too different from this story. We sometimes face difficulties and challenges such as
being unhappy at work, being unhappy with our bodies because we picked up weight, toxic
relationships and criticism. This results in us being unfulfilled. From this we also experience a low
self esteem and a lack of confidence : sometimes we know that if we could just take a leap of faith and
jump to change our lives our lives could improve, but we

Ncidentaloma Research Paper
ncidentaloma is a tumor that does not show any symptoms until it is discovered by some types of
examinations that were not previously planed. Adrenal cortex, a part of the adrenal gland, is where
most of the adrenal tumors develop. Adrenal cortex tumors can have either benign or cancerous
properties.
Usually patients accidentally come across diagnostics of the disease. For example, a change in female
hormone levels can be a good indicator for whether a person has an adrenal tumor. One would
investigate whether an incidentaloma was influencing adrenal cortical hormone levels by performing
numerous tests and diagnostics. The first step is the collection of urine or blood samples to be tested
for adrenal gland hormone levels. If a suspicious ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Different tests are usually performed to quantify the levels of cortisol, such as treating patients with
dexamethasone. Dexamethasone acts like cortisol for the patient s body. Upon delivery to a patient
who does not have adrenal tumor, the production of the cortisol will decrease. On the other hand if a
patient has an adrenal tumor, then hormone levels will stay high even after receiving dexamethasone.
Another test that one can perform to measure the effect of an adrenal tumor is performing an ACTH
test, which measures the level of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) in the blood. ACTH is a
hormone that is produced from the pituitary gland in the brain. Thus by performing the test one can
get information about its concentration in the serum. Usually if adrenal mass is influencing the
corticosteroid levels the test will show a higher level of cortisol while giving a lower level of ACTH
levels.
Another diagnostic method to diagnose adrenal tumors is cortisol saliva testing. In this test, the
amount of cortisol in the saliva at or near midnight is normally very low. Multiple repeats of the test to
confirm elevated cortisol levels can diagnose Cushing s syndrome. Cushing s syndrome is excess
cortisol levels, possibly due to the body secreting too much

pulse, one is capable of nothing. For this reason, Steve Jobs reflected on his imminent death and

His epitome of physical health blurs the true importance of life; he has the power to change the course

need of some obstacles in life in order to appreciate their current situations.. While the blessing of a
healthy life can disguise itself as a curse on occasion, once someone realizes the value of a life, their
world is transformed. In the article, What Is the Value of a Human Life? , Kenneth Feinberg refers to
the time when his legal argument could not stand up against the reasoning of families who had lost
everything. He recalled, I was basing my decision on the law, just as juries did every day. But this
explanation fell on deaf ears. Grieving families couldn t hear it. And I didn t believe it myself,
(Feinberg). An attorney whose whole career depended upon the words of a law book altered his way
of thinking after being forced to face the aftermath of death on the remaining family members. It is
easy to regurgitate the phrases from the law but it is more difficult to apply those standards of human
value after observing death s true

How Can High School Science Teachers Create An...
The number one reason preventing high school science teachers from doing full inquiry based labs is
lack of time. Effective time management is essential in creating an inquiry and argument based
classroom. However, there are many strategies that can help teachers make time for inquiry. One of
these strategies is using essential questions. The teacher can post a starter (essential) question on the
board before the students enter the classroom. This will help avoid in students wasting time asking
what they will be doing in class today. This strategy aids in getting the students to work bell to bell.
Teachers should communicate to their students that class begins on time and they are expected to be
there when the bell rings. Most teachers allow ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Classrooms need to be a place where students feel comfortable. Llewellyn believes that a classroom
that is a safe environment can contribute to less anxiety and more effective learning (p. 156). There
are ways to create the right classroom atmosphere. One of these ways is to clean up the clutter. A
cluttered classroom can suggest a sense of disorder and confusion. Textbooks, papers, etc always need
to have an assigned place so the classroom will stay neat and organized. To create energy in the
classroom, teachers should use natural sunlight. Whenever possible, teachers should let the natural
light shine through the window shades. It also helps to show flexibility to rearrange the students desks
periodically. Science classrooms should be nature friendly settings. This means science teachers
should use plants, aquariums, or maybe a mini waterfall to incorporate nature in their classrooms. The
color of the room can also influence certain behaviors during class. For example, earth tone colors
encourage calming emotions. When possible, ask if the walls may be repainted if the walls are white
in the class. Also, Llewellyn believes music has the power to calm the mind, body, and soul (p. 157).
Although these are very helpful ways to create the right atmosphere in the classroom, no one
classroom setting fits all

Comparing The Economic And Cultural Benefits Of...
Introduction
Background and Significance:
The goal of this action research project is to contrast and compare the economic and cultural benefits
of multigenerational households in the Midwest of USA since the economic downturn. This research
will focus on multigenerational households of families attending the Southern Illinois University
Edwardsville (SIUE) Belleville Head Start Center . The families at this particular Head Start are
diverse, young parents with low income and other factors that fit the criteria for this project. The
center s population would have the perfect variables and characteristics for my project. The project
would include information on the economic and cultural aspects of different racial/ethnic groups, elder
care, single parents, immigrants, black and Hispanics who live in multigenerational homes. The
multigenerational families have become a growing topic of interest. Multifamily households are
defined by the U.S. Census as family households consisting of three or more generations (U. S.
Census Bureau, 2012).
The purpose of this project is to investigate how beneficial it is to families to live in a
multigenerational family household. For over twenty years, I have worked with these families and it
has been a vital balance to create stability for the family and directly impacted the child. I will use the
findings of this action research project to better assist my families to reach a level of self sufficiency.

  • 2. Involvement And The Effect On The Failure Of The Terrorist... In this presentation, I will discuss some examples of failed cooperation and the impact on the failure to prevent the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001; the likelihood of improving cooperation, given the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission; verify whether the reforms recommended have been implemented and of course give some recommendation if any. However, before I dabble into that, I will like to start with intelligence definition, brief history and evolution of intelligence in the United. Intelligence as we already discussed, deals with the process of collecting, analyzing, and providing refined information to the policy makers, which they uses to form decisions about potential threats to national security and how to prevent ... The aftermath of this lead to the creation of the National Intelligence Authority, a Central Intelligence Group in 1946; and subsequently enacted into law the National Security Act of 1947 that served as the organizational basis for the US conduct of the Cold War. The 1947 act also established the Central Intelligence Agency who will be responsible for the national intelligence mission (Federation of American Scientists, 1996). Also, the influence and prosecution of the cold war contributed largely into the development of the most basic forms and practices of the U.S intelligence capability (Lowenthal, 2014, p.16). But the Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1995 was enacted in the fall of 1994 to advance and harmonize counterintelligence and security practices across the Intelligence Community, especially the FBI and CIA (Public Law, 1994). How and why intelligence and law enforcement agencies failed to appreciate the threat before the actual attacks However, during the late 1990s, there were increased interests by terrorist organizations to carry out against the United States and her interests Worldwide. • 3. The Underground Economy And Its Effects On Canada While the underground economy might benefit individuals involved in the trades and make some part of the society happy, it is creating a bad cycle that brings negative third party effects on Canada and should be eliminated as much as possible. Underground economy, also known as the black market, is when sellers and buyers trade their goods and services then on purposely unreported the business activity to evade the price controls. That includes avoiding the price ceilings, the price floors and tax rates set by the Government. The black market is the second largest type of market in the world, occurring in both developed and developing countries. All kinds of goods and services are available in an underground economy. The most commonly traded are goods and services that are available in the official market, but at a lower cost in the black market, or goods and services that have a limited supply in the official market, but are sold at an elevated price in the black market. Despite the trade being illegal, as long as both the seller and buyer comes to an agreement on the price, they trade privately with cash to avoid being detected. Although many sellers get away with this, at the end of the day underground economy is a continued cycle of affecting the country and its citizens, including sellers and buyers in the black market, mostly its tax revenues will be affected, then the GDP, and finally its citizens. This Chapter Will Explore The Main 3.0 CRITICAL APPRAISAL This chapter will explore the main themes that have been identified from the four pieces of research selected for use in this literature review. The articles consist of two qualitative papers, one quantitative and one mixed methods. Two papers are from the United States, one is Australian and One is from the Republic of Ireland. No papers from the United Kingdom have been selected due to the lack of recent research on the selected topic and inferior quality of the available material. Moreover, the similarities within the Emergency departments are such that the research is both generalizable and transferable and can be applied in a British hospital setting. Furthermore, the researches included a chaplain and a social worker in the survey, thus making the suitability of the participants questionable, which may invalidate the results (Parahoo, 2014). The study concluded that the majority of healthcare providers (HP S) were supportive of FWR (73%) despite concerns regarding the behaviour of family members and concern for the emotional burden that they associated with witnessing resuscitation. However, most participants stressed that they would prefer a designated member of staff to accompany the witnesses during the resuscitation (Lederman and Wacht, 2014). In contrast, a study by Bushby et al (2012), which comprised of a self completed anonymous questionnaire of all HP s within the ED of a single Australian hospital; found that the preponderance of staff who were opposed to FWR perceived that it would have a negative emotional impact on the family member. Their concerns focused on the prospect of the witness developing Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). However, there is a wealth of strong evidence to suggest the contrary (Jabre et al, 2013; Hanson et al, 2005; Holzhauser et al; 2006 and Meyer et al, 2000. This suggests that awareness of current FWR research is limited, and implies that education programmes may require ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Winnie s Women Struggle Drawing, crafting, and cutting the Chinese characters took longer than what was predicted, mainly due to the delicate care and precaution I committed. The reason why I did this was because I was trying to configure it in such a way that the characters display a delicate and refined structure. Although the characters translated to Women Struggle , I also incorporated some details that represent society s status quo for women. For instance, for the phrase women should look charming and act perky , I made sure that the slices and cuts were somewhat precise. Despite trying so hard to perfect the cuts, it was just too difficult to master, but that is also another meaning. With the little slivers of paper jutting out, it demonstrates that women ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first artifact is a found poem called She Who Was Forgotten. This is a broad overview of how society favors men over women, leaving females mistreated and somewhat abandoned. In addition, it should be read from the perspective of a woman facing oppression in China. The second artifact are pictures of the Chinese activity for women called foot binding. This excruciating act was solely for women to become aesthetically pleasing and follow the societal norm of a frail and tiny female body. The gruesome images should grant the reader an emotion of disgust and apathy towards society, motivating them to seek change as well. The third artifact is the poster in which the artifacts will be glued on. The poster will be red and embody a symbolic meaning behind it, encapsulating why color is so prominent in Chinese culture. The final artifact is the Chinese characters. Not only will it illustrate the literary technique that Tan writes, but it will also serve as a title. In addition, the reason why the title will be in Chinese is because it should look very smooth, sleek, and pretty much like how society wants their women. As a note to the reader, please keep in mind that this whole project is allegorical, and they should try to sympathize with the struggle that women faced at the time. It will be hard to discern ... • 7. Analysis Of Dinner With Friends By Donald Margulies There were many plays that I could have chosen from, but this one Dinner with Friends by Donald Margulies caught my attention. I found it so interesting and very well written which made me want to actually write my director s notebook about. I chose this play because I liked how it was being told. The way the author wrote this play was very unique. I also liked the play itself because a lot of these stuff are happening today in the world we live in and so there is a lot of comparing between the play and reality. I have a lot of ideas on how this play can be performed and different designs which made me choose this play. I also found it interesting which motivated me to do it. Donald Margulies was born in Brooklyn, New York. He and his wife, Lynn Street, have been married for twenty one years. He mentioned that the play he wrote Dinner with Friends was a reflection of the circumstances and changes of relationship such as his and his wife s since they have been married for a long time. He also said that there are problems and consequences when people fall apart. This play is a great play because a lot of people can relate to it.The play is considered a drama. The play was commissioned by Actors Theatre of Louisville and had its world premiere at the Humana Festival of New American Plays in March 1998. This play has been revised twice throughout the years. • 8. The Role of Abuse in British India in Forster s Passage to... In a Passage to India the author, E. M Forster sends the message of India s mistreatment and misrepresentation by Britain. Throughout the novel, the reader is able to observe how British and Indian characters are treated differently. The author demonstrates the British perspective of Indians being the ignorant characters in the novel, whose company leads to troubles. Another aspect of the British perspective is that Indians are being treated as inferiors to the British in their own country, because if it were not for the British, the social and political order in India will descend into chaos. The author demonstration of the British perspective encourages the reader to feel sympathetic towards Indians. Whenever Aziz and Ronny meet, Ronny ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As Adela and Mrs. Moore take a neutral position towards Indians, the author provides their reaction to the British behavior at the bridge party as a catalyst to encourage the reader to feel sympathetic towards Indians. Adela says at the bridge party this party today makes me so angry......Fancy inviting gusts and not treating them properly. (pg.47). Adela s reaction reinforces the picture that the author draws of how Indians are being treated improperly, despite the fact that they show all sort of respect towards the British colonialists. Adela s reaction also provides a clarification that not every British colonialist thinks that Indians should be treated as inferiors to the British, which serves the author well as it questions the validity of the author s betrayal to his country. Another situation where the British perspective is demonstrated is when Ronny learns that his mother, Mrs. Moore has met Aziz in the mosque. Despite the fact that Ronny does not even know who has his mother met at the mosque, it angers him that his mother was talking to a native Indian, and he begins to question her in a serious tone of voice as if she has disgraced him. • 9. Essay on Linking Eating Disorders With Genetics While Bulimia is known by many names, the term bulimia did not enter the English language until the 1970s, perhaps representing lingering uncertainty about its essence (Gordon, 2000). Bulimia, as we know it, is a modern disease, however, there is some evidence of binging and purging in ancient times; for example, in ancient Egypt, physicians would recommend periodical purgation as a health practice (Gordon, 2000). There has also been documentation of wealthy families in the middle ages vomiting during meals in order to continue eating large amounts of food. At this point, you may be wondering why these examples are not considered Bulimia Nervosa. According to Dr. Richard Allan Gordon, author of Eating Disorders: Anatomy of a Social ... It is now defined as Recurring episodes of eating significantly more food in a short period of time than most people would eat under similar circumstances, with episodes marked by feelings of lack of control.... The person may have feelings of guilt, embarrassment, or disgust and may binge eat alone to hide the behavior . It is important to note that there is a difference between over eating and binge eating, while over eating is a recognizable problem for many people, binge eating is much less common, far more severe, and associated with significant physiological and psychological problems (DSM 5). Binge Eating Disorder is similar to Bulimia Nervosa in that we see episodes of eating large amounts of food, the difference being that there is no purging after the binging episode. It is seen highly among obese patients, but, perhaps due to a reluctance to relate obesity with an eating disorder, it was not recognized as distinct from Bulimia Nervosa until the early 1990s (Gordon, 2000). Some of the first documented cases of Anorexia Nervosa were religious in origin. As early as the 12th century we saw women, particularly in Western Christianity, known as Miracle Maidens who were highly esteemed for their self control, their holy anorexia was thought of as a gift from God. • 10. Theoretical Frameworks For Counselling Offer Guiding... Theoretical frameworks in counselling offer guiding perspectives and direction informing professional practice. As a practitioner I am drawn to post modernist approaches that position the human experience as a social construction, and reality as a result of perception, language and culture ( ). Embedded however within that social construction for me is the necessity to consider the broader social and political climate and issues of power that may play a role in the human experience. As a counsellor, I would like to align with a therapeutic approach that values the diversity and experience of multiple realities, and that supports clients in finding their power both within and outside the counselling session. Embracing the client counsellor ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Armed with this new awareness, the therapeutic process from a feminist perspective was reconceptualized to include an emphasis on social and political forces and an acknowledgement of their role in disempowerment for women (Brown, 2010). Additionally, the seed of creating a more respectful and humanistic approach to the counselling relationship was planted. Raising the consciousness of clients around power and focusing on societal transformation rather than individual adjustment became the identify of feminist therapy and to what Lerner (1993) referred to as the feminist consciousness . This perspective afforded practitioners a new way to view problems presented in therapy. Enns (2004) highlighted two such new views related to client problems. First, the perspective that, the personal is political emphasized that problems arising for women within therapy cannot be disconnected from the larger social and political context. To consider problems in therapy solely on an intrapersonal level is to perpetuate a blame the victim orientation. Therefore, it was essential that an integrated analysis of oppression was explored. Second, problems and symptoms may be conceived of as ways of coping and surviving oppressive circumstances. At times, personal disclosure alleviates stress and perhaps guilt. Radcliffe et. al. examined the effect of written disclosure on the easing of stress. Their study indicated written disclosure, when it is presented to an audience, leads to reduced anxiety and less emotional distress for the author (Radcliffe, Lumley, Kendall, Stevenson, Beltran, 2007). In this particular study, it was concluded that writers work to share more information about their situation than they may have in a written disclosure they would have kept private, such as a diary entry. Their shared writings likely had more sensitive information to explain the situation, and thus led to less depression, reduced interpersonal sensitivity, and lesser physical symptoms of stress when shared (Radcliffe, Lumley, Kendall, Stevenson, Beltran, 2007). In Kalac s case, he may have been attempting to lessen his burden of guilt by disclosing the photographs of what he had done, along with the caption. His wording, Just wanted to share these pic before they find me, do not offer explanation of the crime, but registers his guilt and acknowledges that he must eventually answer for his crimes (Johnson Helsel, 2014). • 12. The Importance Of Media In Mass Media There are many different media outlets, and alternatives available to individuals in today s society to receive information other than what is available in mass media. One alternative media is PBS. PBS is unlike many programming stations around the nation. Their idea is to treat people like citizens and not as consumers. On the Public Broadcasting Service website, it describes how their take on the news is quite different from other stations. They believe that they are America s largest classroom, the Nation s largest stage, and a trusted window to the world (2016). I am going to describe in the following paper the background of the Public Broadcasting Service, how their view is different than corporate giants, and what type of future does a company like this have in the kind of media world we live in today. • 15. Narrative Autobiography On A Motorcycle Cody Ball Instructor Name Course Number Date My Motorcycle Wreck All my life I have been around motorcycles. My father used to let me ride on the back with him when I was a young child. I remember the feeling that I would get when he would accelerate. As soon as I could touch the ground, I owned a dirt bike. I used to love going fast and wheeling down the road for the neighborhood girls to see. We used to spend hours working on bikes together. That is when I started to become obsessed with motorcycles. January 31st, 2016 is the day that I got my first motorcycle. It was the day my fiancé and I were moving to Jacksonville, Florida. We drove for about twenty minutes, until I got a call from my cousin. He said, Cody I will trade my motorcycle for your car. So, we met in the Walmart parking lot in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. When he pulled up with the motorcycle, I was excited. Then, I took a joy ride around the parking lot. I could not believe I finally could have my own motorcycle. I traded my car with a bad transmission for the bike. We were barely able to pick the back of the bike up to get it in the U Haul truck. When we got here the movers had beat us here, and were waiting impatiently. So, when we opened the back of the truck and they saw my heavy motorcycle they were thrilled. Taiwan experienced a lot of disasters in recent several years, including a huge earthquake in 1999, air crash in 1998 and 2001, and many typhoons and floods every year and SARS in 2003. These incidents created demands that challenged our medical infrastructures. The emergency medical preparedness programs evolved a lot in response to medical surge in these disasters. In our system, several characteristics should be clarified in the beginning: 1. In our multiple casualty incident plans require to send hospital doctors to the incidents immediately to save lives, disregarding what they can do or if the scene is under control. In the 19th century, anarchism was a growing movement that scared many people including Julian. Dr. Leete describes how it was in fact the wealthiest who funded them, so people would be afraid of reform. However, this was not enough because social change was not instigated by labor or political parties but by the vow by mankind to persevere and conquer the old order and usher in the new. It was considered that the person s emotional and intellectual developments were aligned (Blackman, 2003). Read (2005) shared this view, agreeing that any views from carers and professionals conveyed that people with learning disabilities were unable to grieve or respond to death. This was attributed to their level of cognition and the inability to fully understand the meaning of loss, death and dying (Read, 2005). This was taken to the extent of excluding people with learning disabilities from experiencing loss altogether, by not informing them about the death of their family member or friend (Grey, 2010). Betacyanin Essay Effects of temperature manipulation and solution treatment on the Beta vulgaris craca plant cell membrane and the change of the concentration of betacyanin when placed under these various stresses Introduction: The Beta vulgaris craca plant, commonly referred to as the beet root contains a pigment, red in colour, called betacyanin. The betacyanin s containment within the cells of the beet root cell relies on the stability of the plant s membrane structure. The manipulation of the cell s membranes through temperature change and solution treatments often causes damage to the vacuoles within the cell which contain betacyanin. Performing this experiment provides evidence and example of how various stresses effect this membrane and to what extent will they remain intact. Materials and Methods: To obtain the standard curve for betacyanin, a spectrophotometer was used to measure the absorbance level of the various concentrations of betacyanin within the water solvent. The beet root was cut up into tiny 5mm uniformed disks to allow for the maximum leakage per test tube. In order to observe the effects of the various temperature manipulations, the test was performed six times at various temperatures. For this test the beets were placed into separate non permeable plastic bags and were then completely submerged in several water baths set at the temperatures of 25ºC, 5ºC, 25ºC, 45ºC, 65ºC and 85ºC for 2 minutes each. Once the plastic bags were removed from the baths, the beet discs themselves were removed and then placed into different test tubes of water with the temperatures set at room temperature for fifteen minutes. The test tubes underwent vigorous spinning by a vortex machine every five minutes to allow for maximum leakage results per beet disk manipulation. Once the beets sat in the water for fifteen minutes, 2mL of the surrounding solvent was poured into a cuvette to be measured with the spectrophotometer. To observe to level of betacyanin leaked from the cells membrane through further analysis, a solvent stress test was performed on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 26. Ap Biology Light Intensity Lab Shannen Lemke 7th period 11/17/17 Light Intensity lab Research Question Does light intensity affect the rate of photosynthesis in algae beads? I was hoping to discover what plants thrive in different lights for future references. I was hoping to find relevant information that will help me make decisions on what plants to purchase. Hypothesis Light intensity does affect the rate of photosynthesis. Too much light may cause plants to burn out or stop producing oxygen while too little light will not provide enough light for optimal photosynthesis activity and CO2 would stop be taken in and oxygen would stop being produced. Background When using algae beads and a CO2 indicator, the process of Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration can be measured. In this experiment the intensity of light will be altered in each trail, and the rate of Photosynthesis will then be measured. As you rise from low light intensity to higher light intensity, the rate of photosynthesis will increase because there is more light available to drive the reactions of photosynthesis. However, once the light intensity gets high enough, the rate won t increase anymore since there will be more light than water and CO2; there will not be enough components from light, water, and CO2 to create the process of Photosynthesis. As CO2 dissolves and the amount of CO2 goes up, the pH will lower, which means the solutions color will change varying form red, orange and yellow, all pending on what the pH is at. CO2 will be produced from respiration, all while photosynthesis absorbs the CO2. This means that when the rate of photosynthesis is less than respiration, pH levels will decrease, and CO2 concentration will increase. Vis versa, when pH levels increase and CO2 concentration decreases, the photosynthesis rate is greater than the respiration rate. When limiting amount of light that is allowed to be transmitted, Neutral density filters can be used. These filers reduce the amount of light that is allowed to pass through. In this experiment the neutral density filters will be used to decrease the amount of light that is allowed to penetrate the algae beads. Two different density s will be test through this experiment, one density, which is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As the brain progresses through the stages of development, one of the things that really helps to have it develop right is music. Have you ever noticed how expecting mothers listen to music during pregnancy. This has many benefits, for one it helps the child bond with the mother, knowing her type of music and getting to know what she likes and her strengths and weaknesses. This makes for a stronger bond with the mother. It also helps with the development of the child, finding joy in music and understanding the awesome power of it. As we get older we start to really like whatever type of music we like but when we go back to that music that we heard while still not even born we get a warm fuzzy feeling that only comes from your mom listening to music while she was pregnant with you. As we grow up and move to middle school our brains start to have a different thing that happens and the rest of our body starts to change and we start to gravitate toward being our own person and like our own music. Music is a huge part of our lives and helps us through our development stages. Our brains are not done fully developing till we are 25 and the only way that we get through all of that is by listening to music and really giving ourselves the best chance to have our brains develop right. Communities where this is the case it is impossible for individuals to form a meaningful relationship with trust. However, the communities where individuals are not anonymous it is possible for trust to be built between these individuals. This paper is meant to take a Kantian approach with respect to The Metaphysics of Morals to identify whether trust within online communities, specifically those that use anonymity such as 4Chan and Reddit, is possible; as well as look at communities where anonymity is not present and how users are able to develop trust, such as Facebook. Through this paper, I will be using Bjorn Myskja s The Categorical Imperative and the Ethics of Trust to look at how anonymity shapes trust in communities. Once I have a developed a firm conclusion on how Kant and Myskja believe trust can be gained, I will analyze the community that does this by not utilizing anonymity, Facebook and Myspace, by observing Trust and Privacy Concern Within Social Networking Sites: A Comparison of Facebook and MySpace from the AIS Electronic Library. Different tests are usually performed to quantify the levels of cortisol, such as treating patients with dexamethasone. Dexamethasone acts like cortisol for the patient s body. Upon delivery to a patient who does not have adrenal tumor, the production of the cortisol will decrease. On the other hand if a patient has an adrenal tumor, then hormone levels will stay high even after receiving dexamethasone. Another test that one can perform to measure the effect of an adrenal tumor is performing an ACTH test, which measures the level of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) in the blood. ACTH is a hormone that is produced from the pituitary gland in the brain. Thus by performing the test one can get information about its concentration in the serum. Usually if adrenal mass is influencing the corticosteroid levels the test will show a higher level of cortisol while giving a lower level of ACTH levels. Another diagnostic method to diagnose adrenal tumors is cortisol saliva testing. In this test, the amount of cortisol in the saliva at or near midnight is normally very low. Multiple repeats of the test to confirm elevated cortisol levels can diagnose Cushing s syndrome. Cushing s syndrome is excess cortisol levels, possibly due to the body secreting too much ...
