The Importance Of Easter In Spain
People around the world have many cultures and holidays. Everyone celebrates their holidays with traditions that appeal to them. With cultural
difference added, diversity is created and is part of the festivities throughout the world. Spain, for example, is just like any other country with
its own holidays, traditions, and activities. This Spanish speaking country has those that contrast to the ones here in the United States.
To begin with, Spain has a holiday called Semana Santa, or Holy Week, that lasts for a week. The week before Easter, the regions of the
Spanish speaking country celebrate the resurrection of Jesus with their own styles and customs. However, according to Miruna Corneanu, the
author of the article Easter in Spain , Semana Santa celebrations are nowhere else as elaborate and spectacular as they are in Andalusia.... In
this southern region of the country, the Catholic holiday is honored by with religious fervor, extravagant processions, color, and art. Motley
parades and complex religious displays of biblical scenes take over the streets in Seville and Malaga. In the town of Calanda, people celebrate
Good Friday by playing drums for twenty four hours. On the contrary, Easter is a holiday those in the United States celebrate. While it may not
last for an entire week but only a day, Easter is not held on an official date, but instead on the first Sunday after the first Full Moon has
happened or after the March equinox. This holiday is honored by Christians,

The Necklace Narcissism
Narcissism Greed Blinds the Morals of One s Own in Guy De Maupassant s
The Necklace
The first paragraph of Guy de Maupassant s short story The Necklace introduces the reader a beautiful young woman named Mathilde Loisel
who yearns for wealth and a luxurious lifestyle. At the same the narrator is informing us of the circumstances that revolves around her from the
worn out chairs to the ugliness of her curtains. She is convinced that these conditions are not suitable for her delicacy temperament and
correlates these defects to someone more appropriate and mediocre in society. Her husband makes every attempt to satisfy her needs however
it is never enough for her standards of living due to her acquisitive impulses. Her characteristics ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is no sign of morality within Mathilde and if she ever had the opportunity to adjust her circumstances or reverse fate, evidently she will
consider the upper rank as oppose to settling for a mediocre lifestyle with her husband. After the extravagant event Mathilde lost the necklace
of Madame Forestier which was assumed to be worth thousands of francs. Eventually Mathilde decided to replace it by purchasing an identical
that corresponded to the original. After having purchased it she worked over ten years to pay off the necklace.
At the end of ten years everything was paid off, everything, the usurer s charges and the accumulation of superimposed interest. Madame
Loisel looked old now. She had become like all the other strong, hard, coarse women of poor households. Her hair was badly done, her skirts
were awry, her hands were red.
Mathilde unfortunately was oblivious at the fact that it took her more energy to pay off the identical necklace than the combine worth of the
dress and the original necklace. She did not value her living circumstances with her husband as well as his love for her. She was more focused
on the materialistic aspect as well as the upper ranks of society. Towards the end of the short story Madame Forestier states, that the original
necklace was only worth five hundred francs and that it was an

Devil In The White City Analysis
(P) The debates are prevalent of the evil that largely takes responsible for the events occuring in the novel Devil in the White City by Erik
Larson. (CE) Erik Larson writes the novel in very simplistic terms (DE) She walked upstairs. The day was hot. Flies rested on the wind sill.
Outside yet another train rumbled through the intersection (Larson 37). (FA) The more simplistic the writing, despite the connotative meaning,
allows for the further exploration of a deeper theme. Without the distraction of unnecessary verbiage, the author is able to convict the theme in
a shorter and more precise way. Beyond the general use of simplistic writing technique, Larson defers back to the simple sentence format when
generating a sense of hastiness

My Favorite Day Of The Whole Year Essay
Multicolored lights twinkle on the tiny boughs of an evergreen tree while presents spill out from under it in every direction. Steamy, delicious
smelling dishes cover every available surface. A manger scene, its figures oddly displaced by little hands, is strewn across the table. The air is
so warm that I kicked my shoes into a corner within minutes of entering the house. Laughter and warm voices are ringing in my ears, but they
somehow feel distant to me. As my five year old cousin darts past my feet, I find myself retreating to the bathroom, fingers fumbling with the
door lock, shaky legs carrying me into the dry, vacant shower while jerky arms pull the curtain closed around me. It s Christmas Day; it should
be my favorite day of the whole year. It s Christmas Day, and I find myself retreating from it all. It s Christmas Day, and my whole family has
gathered together at my cousin s house. Well, not my whole family. My dad is hours away, spending Christmas with my half brother and his
family. Christmas and family have meant many things to me over the years, but the one thing they have always meant to me is mom and dad,
Christie and Sarah, and me, all together. This definition is one of the many things that has been ripped away since my mom asked my dad to
leave the house many months ago in May. It was not supposed to be this way. My parents were supposed to be able to fix their problems and
become the model of a loving Christian marriage that I always longed for. But

Ups vs Fedex Analytical Report
COMMUNICATION COMPARISON
FedEx vs. UPS
Background:
The basis of the analytical report will be comparing Fed Ex and the United Postal Service (UPS). These two companies are the top in their
industry. Each company trying to achieve the role of the industry leader they constantly battle head to head combining strategy and brute force.
Fed Ex was incorporated in 1971, but did not officially begin operations until April of 1973. Fed Ex started out delivering to only 25 cities and
did not start to expand until 1977. UPS was founded in 1907 starting out with a Model T Ford and a few motorcycles. UPS has since grown its
fleet into 15,000+ trucks along with a large fleet of aircrafts and services over 200 countries and territories. ... Show more content on

In 2009 FedEx launched a multimillion dollar campaign aimed at its rival UPS, Why is mega corporation UPS trying to use its political clout
to get a bailout from the U.S. Congress, leaving you to pay the tab . Rival UPS calls FedEx the only company in the transportation industry
with ground employees covered by a railroad and airline law. Most of the forces are from moderate to low besides the threat of intense rivalry
which signals that this is an attractive industry to be within.
Business Level Strategy:
From the beginning UPS and FedEx both had very different strategies in the delivery industry. UPS was focused on ground transportation, as
more of a substitute for United States Postal Service. UPS has over 100,000 ground transportation vehicles compared to only 20,000 ground
vehicles in service at FedEx. The focus of FedEx has always been to be an air delivery company that is trying to pursue a strategy of being able
to deliver a parcel the next day. FedEx proves this focus with nearly 700 jets in service compared to only 300 at rival UPS. FedEx and UPS
both say the market of overnight delivery as the direction to pursue. UPS was able to accept this and move forward allowing its ground
department to absorb the expense, while FedEx suffered a great deal and we hit with higher cost do to them having to hire independent
contractors. Over the years, these two companies have changed their overall positioning strategy in the domestic delivery industry. As

1. Discuss the importance and impact of ERP systems on Industry and Organization. Be sure to discuss what a business process is and what
business process integration is. Identify five expected benefits of implementing an ERP. (20 points)
A Business Process is an activity or collection of logically related activities that occur in a business, take inputs, process those inputs to
increase their value and then gives relevant outputs. Business integration is a process that consolidates multiple business processes into a single
system or point. ERP systems are an example of business process integration. Operations and business processes are integrated at the enterprise
level with systems such as SAP. ERPs provide a wide variety of benefits for an organization, some of which are: increased speed and
efficiency in business processes, improved security/availability, increased quality in business processes, lower process complexity and lower
organizational costs overall.
2. Define the following terms: (3 points each)
company code A unique code identify a company or organization as a legal entity. This company code is used for reporting, taxing and
financial accounting purposes.
business area Structured segments of an organization that are defined for financial accounting and reporting purposes. Financial statements

The Importance Of Genes In The Evolution Of Plants
2011). The genes have been awoken in multiple angiosperm plants throughout the evolution of today s modern plants. These genes have not
been found in gymnosperms. The genes are only being utilized when in seed form for most flowering plants. Being able to switch these genes
on like a light switch, in the tissue and fiber of conventional crops will aid in our fight against world hunger.
During severe desiccation periods, plant lose all the available protoplasmic water. This loss of water causes structural stress as decreased cell
volume places tension on the plasmalemma as it shrinks form plasmadesmatal attachments to the cell wall, the ultimate rupture of which
allows entry of extracellular hydrolases and cell death (Jill F. 2016). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A plant that could essentially lose more than 90% of its molecular H2O, regenerate and begin growing again after long periods of drought
could possibly change how whole nations do agriculture. Agricultural regions that are rain fed would be able to incorporate an additional
growing season. This can be achieved by leaving the plants that have died from lack of water till the next year when the rain falls thus causing
an early crop that will be simultaneous with planting the next year s crop or a spread out cropping throughout the year because different plants
will be a different maturation stages. The effects this process will have will ensure that no plant is wasted due to heat stress. The amount of
plants that die from heat stress will vary, never the less implementing the desiccated crops in with the crops that survive from the current year
will benefit yield production.
Resurrection plants can remain in the dead, fringed state for months to years. Even after being dead it can still regenerate, become green and
continue to grow. Like the seeds of all angio sperm plants, the seeds are desiccation tolerant. Only 135 flowering plants have the regenerative
tissue. As of 2016 there are 391,000 vascular plants in the world. 369,000 of those

not have any problem with the pair. Soko is not at all bitter and does not have any plans to write a bitter breakup ballad, Gossip Cop has
learned. A credible source from Soko s circle has said that she is not even in the studio to work on her new record, leave alone penning a
breakup song. She is busy promoting her two films The Stopover and The Dancer that debuted at Cannes in May. Soko will return to the studio
only after the promotions are over and start working on her music so that her new record may come out in March 2017. As far as her
relationship with Stewart and the consequent heartbreak is concerned, the duo did not share a long enough relationship to write a song about it.

Post Antibiotic Future
Since the introduction of penicillin to the public in 1942, antibiotics have gained widespread use throughout the world. The drug has allowed
society to make advancements in medicine, increase an individual s personal well being, extend life expectancies, and stop and prevent
infections. Antibiotics are one of the largest backbones to maintaining personal health in society today, yet there may be a day when we are no
longer able to depend on antibiotics to fight infections. In the essay Imagining the post antibiotic future , Maryn McKenna establishes the
importance of antibiotics to juxtapose how devastating life would be without them. McKenna first introduces the origin of penicillin and
antibiotics. The first known antibiotic, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By weight, eighty percent of antibiotics are used in agriculture to fatten animals and protect them from the conditions in which they are raised
(McKenna). Animals are given micro doses of antibiotics, that is, a small amount of antibiotics to prevent diseases from occurring. This micro
dosage amount allows for mutation that Fleming described. The routine use of antibiotics in agriculture has led to [sixty five] percent of
chicken breasts and [forty four] percent of ground beef to house bacteria resistant to tetracycline . Additionally, [eleven] percent of pork chops
carried bacteria resistant to five classes of drugs (McKenna). These bacteria then spread from animals to the humans who eat them, causing
humans to get infections which cannot be treated. The issue isn t as simple as ceasing to give antibiotics to animals. Most animals raised for
consumption live in an environment ripe for infections and diseases to spread. Instead of giving the animals more room to live, the majority of
farmers opt to give the animals antibiotics. For cattle, This prevents diseases and death to the immature weaned calves and cattle which saves
the rancher both time and money passing on the savings to the consumers. In a free market society higher prices tend to not go well. However,
if antibiotics became useless farmers would have to [enlarge] barns, [cut] down on crowding, and [delay] weaning , which ultimately would
increase the costs of raising livestock

Native American Natives
Native Americans Native Americans roamed the land and did as they pleased, almost ancient technology. That was until white settlers came in
and took away their land and buffalo. Whites forced them to adapt to white culture and learn how to farm wheat, and go to school. Whites even
put them on indian reservations that had poor soil so their farming techniques were difficult.. Indians were nomads, they chased their food and
never stayed in one home for too long. They used older technology like smoke signals. The finding of the buffalo was remarkable, they could
kill the game and use every single part of it. Indians would use the bladder as canteens and the tendons as strings for their bows. It provided
them with multiple luxuries, and when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They even tried to say that they were helping the Indians by making them downsize. They would say that the annuities they gave me made up
fro the smaller land. Whites did this with the Dawes Act an act that allowed authorization of president to move Native Americans onto
reservations. To make matters worse, they then enforced Indians to basically become whites they could do this with Assimilation. Assimilation
is trying to get one to change or become like one s culture. Many settlers, thought it was actually fair because they get 160 and so do the
indians plus annuities yearly. White settlers probably thought they got the short end of the deal because indians got land and money. They
thought they were helping the Indians with their farming and newer technology. That the killing of the buffalo and Assimilation would help
indians be better off. Native Americans were treated extremely unfairly. They were thrown onto reservations, and we killed their buffalo. Some
may it was justified, but it wasn t. Imagine whenever people come over to your house uninvited you feel kinda like what are you doing here?
So just picture their situation of all misery, and just for gold and silver. We did need them to move along with us or move out of the way, but
the way we took the situation was horrible. Whites were not justified to take the Indian s land and kill their buffalo we should have probably
been a little more kind

Tobacco Cessation
Introduction
Smoking is the leading cause of preventable death in the United States and worldwide (Centers for Disease Control, 2013, World Health
Organization, 2008). Tobacco cessation counseling is a vital component of any public health strategy seeking to decrease mortality, disease and
costs associated with smoking. To that end, the Healthy People 2020 Tobacco Use Objectives cover three main areas: reducing tobacco use,
instituting health system changes, and creating social and environmental changes (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 2013).
Objective TU 10 falls under the category of health system changes as it seeks to open doors for patients to make quit attempts and to pursue

Social Determinants of Health
Social factors associated with higher rates of smoking include low SES being unemployed, homeless, mentally ill, those who are incarcerated,
and single parents. (see Bryant at end). Perhaps the strongest associations are between low SES and higher rates of tobacco use. Sadly, those
with low SES not only are more likely to smoke, but evidence shows they are less likely to quit successfully.
In the U.S., only 20% of those at or above the poverty level smoke, compared with 30% of those below the poverty level (Hiscock, Bauld,
Fidler, and Munafo, 2012). Teenage girls of families with lower SES are more likely to smoke (Hiscock et al, 2012). In addition, those with
low SES are less likely to quit smoking successfully and may be less likely to intend or attempt to quit (Reid, Hammond, Boudreau, Fong, and
Siahpush, 2010). Reid and coauthors surveyed over16,000 smokers in the US, UK, Canada and the United Kingdom and found that those with
higher education were more likely to say they intend to quit smoking, attempt to quit and to be abstinent for between one and six months.
Higher income was also associated with stated intention to quit and abstinence of at least one month (Reid et al, 2010). In addition, those with

The Philadelphia Museum Of Art Museum
The Philadelphia Museum of Art was my first time to an art museum, and overall I think it was a good experience. When I thought of an art
museum, I thought it was going to be all paintings. But as it turns out, that idea was wrong. There were lots of other forms of art there as well.
The exhibit that I enjoyed the most was the International Pop exhibit. But there were also many other exhibits that I enjoyed as well. Some of
those include; European, American, Arms and Armor. All every interesting exhibits that everyone should see. But those are not all, when going
to this museum, every exhibit should be looked at, all have very interesting things in them. The International pop exhibit was one of my
favorite out of all the exhibits. The International Pop navigates a fast paced world packed with bold and thought provoking imagery, revealing
a vibrant period shaped by social, political, and cultural changes . One piece of art that I found interesting was Still Life by Tom Wesselmann,
American, 1931 2004 . When looking at this piece if reminds me of different time. This piece reminds me of other art works that I have seen
with the same kinds of things on it as well. Another work of art that I enjoyed was the 20th/21st Century Tribute by Antônio Henrique Amaral ,
this painting makes the viewer actually stop and look at it. There are many different parts to this painting too look at. When walking through
the museum, this was definitely something that catches ones eye.

A Midsummer Night s Dream Comparison Essay
The True Power of Adaptations Some of the world s greatest storylines comes from book adaptations. For example, West Side Story, an
American Classic film, considered it is one of the greatest films in history, it was an adaptation to Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet. Lord of the
Rings, The Hunger Games, Harry Potter: etc. They all came from books or other forms of written stories. Good adaptations successfully
accomplish the storyline from the written book and make it even better. I myself have watched two adaptations to A Midsummer Night s
Dream: A 1999 movie directed by Michael Hoffman, and a play performed by Rice University. The movie was not perfect. There were many
flaws. In the very beginning, the acting was not good at all. Theseus s role in the beginning scene was sub par, sounding as if he were reading

The theme of A Midsummer Night s Dream is that if true happiness, love, and joy is wanted in a relationship, it will take some hard work. True
love or friendship does not depend upon if a person is is annoying or not. True love or friendship goes beyond flaws. Having a good healthy
relationship in which you selflessly and unconditionally love someone is a risk. It is like spending money on stocks. Someday that stock might
crash. Likewise your friend might get extremely sick, die, or even betray you. Or your friend might be in danger, and you would have to step
up and take the risk. Truly caring for your friend comes at a price. In the story, both in the play and in the movie, Egeus and Theseus were
discussing on Hermia and how she needs to marry Demetrius. Since Hermia does not love Demetrius, she wants to marry Lysander. When
Egeus and Theseus offer Hermia to either die, become a nun all her life, or marry Demetrius, Hermia is not afraid. Her love for Lysander is that
great, that she is willing even to die for

As a result of the legalization of medical marijuana in certain states, the Obama Administration favored the states in which if an individual
follows the state laws, the individual will not be prosecuted. This violated the Supremacy clause that puts the federal government as the
supreme and dominates over the state laws since the use of medical marijuana was legalized in 18 states and the District of Columbia even
though the federal law states that marijuana is an illegal drug. Another example of the supremacy clause based on the idea of implied
preemption is the Wyeth verse Levine (2009) case. Diane Levine suffered a migraine headache and was treated with Phenergan. A physician s
assistant of Wyeth pharmaceutical company administered the drug through an IV push, which was not stated as danger on the label. The
injection of the drug hit the artery instead of the intended vein, which caused Levine to amputate most of her arm. This caused for Levine to
sue Wyeth in Vermont Superior Court since she felt that it was their responsibility due to their negligence and unawareness of informing the
patient. On the other hand, Wyeth believes that since the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the label and the IV push method was
not declared as forbidden, then they should not be liable for the damages caused. The Vermont Superior Court ruled in favor of Levine since
Wyeth could have added more warnings to the label

Jane Eyre And Depression Essay
Charlotte Bronte s Jane Eyre has captivated readers for generations. As with all coming of age novels, young adults can relate to the struggles
and triumphs of Jane. Jane s setting influences and parallel her emotions. A reader can see the novel through her eyes and perspective. In
Bronte s Jane Eyre, the location often parallels Jane s emotional growth through the tone presented by the environment, resulting in the

affected her choices throughout the novel and her life at Gateshead, Lowood, Thornfield, Marsh End, and Ferdean. The way Jane views her

Harvard Health has suggested that depression may alter how eyes function[,] making the world seem flat and/or gray through color shape and
contrast (Harvard Publishing). In a more literal sense, Jane views her life, and the winter, as gray. Her analysis of the environment and
surroundings might not be metaphorical, but actually quite literal. Jane s grim view of Gateshead affects her. However, when she leaves for
Lowood she learns to be happy. Despite this, her depression continues to influence her life. She feels that she needs to be part of a family and
experience those family dynamics to be whole. Her time at Thornfield supports this.
While Jane s time at Gateshead demonstrated her immense sadness, Jane s time at Thornfield reveals her sadness through depression, as it
begins to evolve into anger and an internal struggle. Her correlation with madness and anger begins to appear when she goes into the attic. She
states I climbed the three staircases, raised the trapdoor of the attic, and having reached the leads looked out afar over sequestered field and
hill, and along the dim skyline that then I longed (Bronte 114). Jane is trapped inside herself. She longs to escape from her emotions and
internal struggles, yet cannot. The attic, the abode of Mr. Rochester s insane wife, houses Jane s emotions. She climbs up to the attic and views
the world beyond it. She

Accounting Standards Boards
The field of accounting is constantly evolving. This is true not only for the theory of accounting itself but also the entities that govern its theory
and practice. Presently, the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) are faced
with some of the biggest challenges to date. To understand the significance of these two boards, it is necessary to understand their histories,
relations between the boards, and the standards that they set. Also how the knowledge of these boards and the field they lead, gained through

The works of the APB were known as APB Opinions. The APB was criticized as well, so the AICPA appointed two committees, from whose
recommendations the FASB was founded in 1973 (Schroeder, Clark, Cathey, 2011, p. 5 9).
International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) As stated earlier, the IASB arose from specific needs of the accounting industry and the
public. As international trade has increased, the need for transnational accounting information has increased as well. This sparked the demand
for development of international accounting standards to make financial data between countries more comparable. In 1973, the International
Accounting Standards Committee (IASC) was formed to develop these international standards. The standards issued by the IASC, prior to
2001, were called International Accounting Standards (IASs). In 2001, the IASC made the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB)
the official international standard setting body. The standards issued by the IASB are called International Financial Reporting Standards
(IFRSs) (Schroeder, Clark, Cathey, 2011, p. 82 87).
FASB and IASB Convergence The purpose of convergence by the two boards is to create a common set of standards for use by both domestic
and foreign entities to create internationally comparable statements. The boards initially met in 2002 for a meeting known as the Norwalk

Analysis Of The Longest Day
As World War II was ending, the film industry saw a surge in the production of combat films depicting what unfolded in the war. These films
usually displayed the fighting as either patriotic or anti war. However, some movies were produced which took a more neutral stance on the
violence and focused more on historical accuracy. In The Longest Day, directed by Darryl F. Zanuck, the Allies plan and execute landings on
several beaches in France such as Normandy to enter the European theater at the start of the second World War. It also shows the events of D
Day from everyone s point of view, even including Nazi Germany and the French Resistance. The Longest Day asserted itself as an extremely
successful film because of the more neutral approach it took on the fighting, the historical accuracy it possessed, and it s depiction of ethnic
relations. Unlike most films at the time, The Longest Day did not strongly take a pro war or anti war stance. Instead it had more of an
uncommitted theme which was centered around the correctness of the battles of the war. Nevertheless, there are some occasional scenes
showing valor and bravery, such as the scene at Utah beach where soldiers charge. I believe Zanuck chose to make the film equitable instead of
a patriotic film or an anti war film because he truly wanted to capture the battles and what he saw of the war. The allies aren t particularly
shown as heroes as much as in other movies and the German soldiers are shown as average, non evil

The article titled Relational Leadership written by James Freeman takes a look at the impact of Child and Youth Workers in the lives of youth,
specifically the work of Brian Gannon. Brian Gannon is an experienced Youth Worker who took on a leadership role at St. Johns Hostel in
Cape Town, South Africa in 1967, at the age of twenty seven. St. Johns consisted of sixty four boys, with many of them left alone in the
aftermath of World War I along with the influenza epidemic. Outside of the care provided for the boys, the program offered them a life parallel
to anyone living in the city. Activities such as afternoon sports, free time and contact with friends and family outside of the institution were
provided and endorsed by the institution for the boys. Gannon s approach to working with youth focused on the following things highlighted in
the article: creating smaller living groups for the boys, less regimented routines, more experiences of childhood and adolescence in everyday
life, and a focus on developing meaningful relationships with one another (Freeman, 2015, p. 37). In other words, Gannon s main goal was to
lead and guide the youth so that they are given an equal chance at succeeding in life. Gannon is also a co founder of CYC Net where he has
published a collection of approximately two hundred child and youth care practice hints, each hint containing a background theory and a how
to element. The article then analyzes an excerpt from the works of Gannon, complimenting

Physics Pre-Lab Questions
Pre Lab Questions: In this activity, the marbles represent the narrow beam of alpha particles used to determine the structure of atoms, the
unknown object represents the atoms that Rutherford studied, the cardboard represents the gold foil that was made up of gold atoms and the
paper represents the approximate path that the alpha particles bounced off of or went through the gold foil at that Rutherford observed. Based
on where the marble rolls in one end and out the other, you can infer where the target is underneath the cardboard and where the target has a
flat edge, or doesn t have any edges that stick out. Post Lab Questions: We made the correct prediction that the shape of our target was a

This is because if the marble hits the shape, the speed at which it bounces off of it will be even slower than the speed at which it was rolled and
its path might be changed before it rolls out of the black box.A slower marble also may make a wider angle if it bounces off of the shape. If the
speed of the marble rolls were faster, it may also be hard to make an accurate prediction, because if the marble is moving too fast, the way in
which the marble bounces off of the shape would be different. A faster marble may make a smaller angle as it bounces off of the shape. If the
size of the marble was bigger, the shape would appear to be smaller and if the size of the marbles were smaller, the shape would appear to be
bigger. This is because as the size of the marbles changes, so does the angles that they make, when they bounce off of the shape. This angle
size depends on the speed and size of the marbles and when one of those variables are changed, it can make it difficult to determine the
position and shape of the

William Shakespeare s Much Ado About Nothing
Much Ado About Nothing, is a comedic play by William Shakespeare thought to have been written in 1598 and 1599, as Shakespeare was
approaching the middle of his career. (Wikipedia) This timeless play is generally considered one of Shakespeare s best comedies, because it
combines a cheerful mood with an intricate series of deceptions and miscommunications. It s known for its hilarity, honor, shame and court
politics. Shakespeare depicts different kinds of loving relationships romantic love, family support and loyal friendship. My first impression of
this story is that it would be a love story. This play was included in the First Folio, published in 1623. The pairing of David Tennant as
Benedick with Catherine Tate as Beatrice is a marriage that, if not made in heaven, is certainly cemented by television and pays off superbly.
At the peak of his career he created this love comedy and it became a hit and an all time favorite.
A little background on William Shakespeare, the one and only. William was born in 1564 to a successful middle class glove maker in Stratford
upon Avon, England. Shakespeare attended grammar school, but his formal education proceeded no further. In 1582 he married an older
woman, Anne Hathaway, and had three beautiful children. Around 1590 he left his family and traveled to London to work as an actor and
playwright. Public and critical acclaim quickly followed, and William eventually became the most popular playwright in England and part

The Piano Lesson Essay
It s being here now that s important. There s no past and there s no future. Time is a very misleading thing. All there is ever, is the now. We can
gain experience from the past, but we can t relive it; and we can hope for the future, but we don t know if there is one. (George Harrison)
Although things can come from the past, they must be put to use in the know, and although we like to plan for the future, we need to try and
make an impact now. What George Harrison is trying to say is that while it is nice to try to set things up for the future, we need to use what was
given to us from the past, to try and better the lives of other immediately. In The Piano Lesson, by August Wilson, the piano was the object

possession of the beloved piano. This elevates the role of the piano in Berniece s life because it is the last thing her father had a connection to,
and since he died over it, he too must have thought it was a very important item. Overall, Berniece recognizes that her family worked hard and
made large sacrifices to get the piano to where it is

Edgar Allan Poe s Things Fall Apart
Taking a gasp of oxygen not touched by the odor of human rot, Bird Man opened his beak and frantically hyperventilated. Soon after he felt
lightheaded and ill from the overconsumption of air, he slowed down and recollected his thoughts. Before he had left Wilhelm, he had elicitly
demanded that if Bird Man sighted or observed the woman who was tirelessly chasing him that he should not hesitate to use his powers in his
defense. He also added in that if he saw another worm who looked similar to him, he should ignore it. Bird Man inquired about his latter

The Detrimental Effects of Traditional Bullying and Cyber...
We have all heard the phrase sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me on the playground or school bus ride home.
The phrase was normally thrown out to bullies during a fight in the schoolyard, pushes in the hall, food thrown in the cafeteria, or during the
endless teasing and taunting on bus rides to/from school. According to a national survey conducted by the National Center for Education
Services, U.S. Department of Education in 2002, 32% of students in grades 6 12 reported being bullied. Only 9% reported injuries or needing
medical attention.

(Whittemore, 2009) It is especially hurtful when one s self worth is attacked repeatedly by those who do not feel good about himself, and seek
to feel better by cutting others down. Cyber bullying is a new phenomenon that even the most tech savvy wasn t prepared for. It allows the
aggressor to pick on their victim at all hours of the day. It s not limited to the classroom anymore; it allows the bully to enter the victim s safe
zone: home. Emails, instant messaging, photo transmitting, and social media outlets are the fuel that feeds this behavior. In traditional bullying,
at the end of the day you can escape the torment, but with cyber bullying, there is no escape. The translation of the saying has modernized from
its origin, when slaves used to mutter to their owners sticks and stones may break my bones but names can never hurt me into today s newer

Previous studies on cyber bullying have been conducted at the middle school and high school levels. Bullying has always been a problem in
this age range, so its natural for many researchers to target children as their survey participants, studying their activities and communication

Persuasive Essay On Climate Crisis
As advances in technology and medicine lead to longer lifespans and lowered mortality from disease, some people worry about overpopulating
the earth. These people also argue that aid work will fuel the population growth and demolish one of the only forms of population control.
Melinda Gates explains that as people work to provide more education and contraceptives to women in third world countries, the birth rate will
naturally decrease, especially as they worry less about having a child survive into adulthood (Rosen). Currently there is enough to sustain the
population and its growth in the years to come; presently the issue is not the number of people, but rather, the distribution and effective use of
resources.
The World Economic Forum s Global Shaper Survey shows that most millennials agree that climate change is the most urgent issue and that
they can do something to fix it (Jackson). Bill Gates has mentioned the possibility of a new charity dedicated to solving the climate change
issue because he views it as the most imminent threat to the survival and advancement of humanity. An article on The Guardian even mentions
that The foundation s annual letter for 2015 says their achievements could be undone by the advancing climate crisis. (Mathiesen). Gates has
even theorized that, at the current rate, we could be facing serious climatic consequences in as little as 15 or 20 years.

Setting In The Bridegroom, By Nadine Gordimer
The settings within short stories often function to define characters and their relationships with others. The setting in Nadine Gordimer s The
Bridegroom is used to define and tell the reader about the characters and the relationships in the short story. This essay will serve to prove how
this is achieved by first examining how the setting is used to define the character of the bridegroom. Thereafter, the way in which the setting
tells the reader about the bridegroom s relationship with his bride will be discussed. The relationship between the bridegroom and the bride s
family and the conveyance of this relationship through the setting will then be explored. The way in which physical space conveys the

Throughout the short story, Piet crosses over the distance between the two camps numerous times, moving back and forth between (Gordimer
73) them. The fact that Piet moves from one camp to the other with ease suggests that the relationship between him and the bridegroom is more
relaxed and amiable than that between the bridegroom and the other workers. It also indicates the fact that Piet has relationships with both the
bridegroom and the black workers. Piet is therefore not as strictly confined to one camp as the other workers are. In this way, setting is used to
tell the reader about the personal relationship between Piet and the bridegroom and Piet s ability to have relationships with the road workers
simultaneously.
The author makes effective use of setting to tell the reader about the characters and relationships found in The Bridegroom . Setting is used to
convey the bridegroom s precise and orderly character, as well as his isolated existence. His relationships with both his bride and her family are
also expressed through the use of setting. Finally, the setting of the bridegroom s camp and that of the road workers also serves to tell us about
the relationships in the camp. Setting is a highly useful tool in conveying characterisation and interaction between

Reproductive Rights Argumentative Analysis
Encompassing the specific points and pieces of the reproductive war that I have discussed thus far, I believe that abortion and the reproductive
rights umbrella is indeed a feminist issue. In an era when reproductive rights are being especially combated, as they are in the present (Murray,
301) feminists need to be clear and fervent about where we stand and what we are fighting for. Though perhaps a very controversial opinion, I
believe that pro life women are counterproductive to this fight. Jeanne Mancini, the President of the biggest anti abortion event, the March for
Life, claims that she has talked to an substantial amount of women who have regretted having an abortion. Many of these women label
themselves as pro life feminists and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
How is that honorable? In a lesser, subtler comparison to Mancini and the pro life feminists, that is like saying that just because I regret getting
a tattoo, I believe that no one should be able to get one. In addition, the phrase pro life is often a misnomer. March for Life labels itself as pro
life but to indeed be pro life, the group in question needs to equally care about all life that is involved in a pregnancy. This often is not the case,
as the unborn child s needs are considered and the mother s are not, or not as much. Whether it is a man, a woman, or a woman who has
labeled herself a pro life feminist, they take away personal bodily autonomy from women. To imply or outright claim that the rights of an
undeveloped fetus are greater than the rights of a woman to choose what happens in her own body is absurd, and to assume that a woman is not
capable of making an informed decision about her own body is nothing more than misogyny, no matter who is against it. Therefore, abortion is
absolutely a feminist issue, as I believe it is impossible to simultaneously be a feminist and a fervent anti abortion

Pros And Cons Of Stopping Child Labour
Child Labour as defined by the International Labour Organisation, work that deprives children of their childhood, their potential and their
dignity, and that is harmful to physical and mental development. This includes interference with their schooling. Child Labour in extreme
forms also involves children being separated from their families, exposed to serious hazards and despises or left to fend for themselves on the
streets of large cities at an early age. (ILO, n.d.). In Cote d Ivoire, a major child labour form is agriculture where children as young as five

However, there are many pros and cons to consider of the implications if child labour were to be stopped, from the different perspectives of the
different stakeholders involved.
The pros will be first discussed. Stopping child labour in Cote d Ivoire would definitely help the children to be free from physical and mental
scars. Child labour, according to various research, will leave physical and especially psychological scars on the children involved. These scars
are caused by abusive actions by plantation owners, especially those who require the children to complete an exaggerated amount of work
before they get to rest or eat their meals. (Hawksley, 2011).Even if they eventually get out of this cycle and be free from child labour when
they grow up, the scars take a long time, or may never heal. This deprives them of their whole life s success. Thus, putting an end to child
labour will save many lives by allowing these children to experience childhood and achieve success in various areas of their

New Fathers Should Have A Paid Parental Leave Law Essay
New fathers are showing more interest in the day to day activities of their children. They are wanting to be more than just breadwinners; they
want to be more attached to their children. As was pointed out earlier, 86 percent of fathers said they would take paternity leave if it paid 70%
of their income. For a lot men in the Citation survey, the expected income reduction did not dissuade them from taking parental leave to be
with their newborn and wife.
My own survey showed me that the majority of respondents, and perhaps of the population, is unaware that there is currently no paid parental
leave law in the country. This came as a surprise since only one of them did not have kids. Expectant father Philip Holt said that he was also
unaware of the lack of a paid parental leave law in the country. However, when asked if they think the country should have a paid parental
leave law, most replied yes ( Parental Leave Awareness , n. pag.).
Perhaps these survey results also coincide with the assertion by some researchers that nurturing and caretaking is not just an inborn
characteristic but an acquired one. The result of this Citation survey points us to the strong possibility of re defining gender roles. But gender
redefining aside, in order for a parental leave law to promote the medical, societal, and economic benefits it entails, it needs to be practical for
everybody to take.
The results of my own survey further gave merit to my proposal for a paid parental leave law. The

Pain can be classified based on its type. It can be acute, cancer or chronic of by pathophysiology that can either be visceral or somatic.
Neuropathic pain is the pain ensuing from injury to the tissues hence causing nerve dysfunction. Neuropathic pain is therefore described as a

therefore important to identify the mechanisms as well as different forms of pain considering that selective treatment helps improve the
outcomes of pain control.

The Options For Shed Ventilation
The 5 Options for Shed Ventilation in your Shed and the Pros and Cons of Each
Ventilating your shed is important no matter what the time of year. No matter how hard you try to ignore this simple fact, the reality is that
your shed is too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. Not sure if this is true, then think about all the times you refused to work in it
because of these exact reasons. Along with temperature, a non ventilated shed leads to a buildup of mildew and chemical fumes that go a long
way towards making you sick. Proper ventilation is the best way to avoid these problems and many more.

The Stuff in Your Shed: Unless you are a bit odd, you probably use your shed not only as a workspace but also for storage. Excess heat, cold,

spend a fortune replacing everything that has been damaged.
Your Options for Ventilation
There are a number of different options when it comes to the proper ventilation for your shed. Most of which can be at least somewhat
effective, while others work amazingly well. There are, as you might expect, several issues you need to take into consideration when trying to
decide which type of ventilation is right for your shed.
It s All about Size
Perhaps one of the most important things you need to think about when trying to decide which of the different types of shed ventilation is right
for you is the size of your shed. For example, a small solar powered vent might work for a small shed, but would be all but useless in a larger
shed. By the same token, a turbine ventilator is an excellent choice for a large shed but would provide far too much airflow for a tiny shed.
Is This the Right Choice?
Finding the right type of shed ventilation involves looking at the size of the shed, the materials it is made from, and what you plan to use it for.
At the same time, you need to consider the average high and low temperatures where

Extrinsic Allergic Alveolitis ( Hp ) Is An Inflammatory...
Abstract Hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP), also known as extrinsic allergic alveolitis, is an inflammatory lung disease caused by repeated
inhalation of antigens in the sensitized population, and presents with allergic inflammation in the alveoli and bronchioles. It is traditionally
classified into acute, subacute and chronic forms, but the criteria for such classification are often unclear. Immune complexes and lymphocytes
mediate the inflammatory process of HP, which leads to high cell count in bronchoalveolar lavage. The risk factors of HP are not completely
clear, but both genes and environment are probably involved in the initiation of HP. Removal of antigens is the best way to prevent and manage
HP. Finally two common forms of occupational HP, metalworking fluid induced HP and hot tub lung, are reviewed. Hypersensitivity
pneumonitis (HP) is an inflammatory lung disease that is sometimes called extrinsic allergic alveolitis. Considering the disease also affects
bronchioles, however, the name of HP seems more accurate and universally accepted (Quirce et al., 2016). HP, of which farmer s lung was the
earliest discovered, is induced by repeated inhalation of antigens in the sensitized population, and presents with allergic inflammation in the

At the end of ten years everything was paid off, everything, the usurer s charges and the accumulation of superimposed interest. Madame Loisel looked old now. She had become like all the other strong, hard, coarse women of poor households. Her hair was badly done, her skirts were awry, her hands were red. Mathilde unfortunately was oblivious at the fact that it took her more energy to pay off the identical necklace than the combine worth of the dress and the original necklace. She did not value her living circumstances with her husband as well as his love for her. She was more focused on the materialistic aspect as well as the upper ranks of society. Towards the end of the short story Madame Forestier states, that the original necklace was only worth five hundred francs and that it was an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. My Favorite Day Of The Whole Year Essay Multicolored lights twinkle on the tiny boughs of an evergreen tree while presents spill out from under it in every direction. Steamy, delicious smelling dishes cover every available surface. A manger scene, its figures oddly displaced by little hands, is strewn across the table. The air is so warm that I kicked my shoes into a corner within minutes of entering the house. Laughter and warm voices are ringing in my ears, but they somehow feel distant to me. As my five year old cousin darts past my feet, I find myself retreating to the bathroom, fingers fumbling with the door lock, shaky legs carrying me into the dry, vacant shower while jerky arms pull the curtain closed around me. It s Christmas Day; it should be my favorite day of the whole year. It s Christmas Day, and I find myself retreating from it all. It s Christmas Day, and my whole family has gathered together at my cousin s house. Well, not my whole family. My dad is hours away, spending Christmas with my half brother and his family. Christmas and family have meant many things to me over the years, but the one thing they have always meant to me is mom and dad, Christie and Sarah, and me, all together. This definition is one of the many things that has been ripped away since my mom asked my dad to leave the house many months ago in May. It was not supposed to be this way. Business Level Strategy: From the beginning UPS and FedEx both had very different strategies in the delivery industry. UPS was focused on ground transportation, as more of a substitute for United States Postal Service. UPS has over 100,000 ground transportation vehicles compared to only 20,000 ground vehicles in service at FedEx. These films usually displayed the fighting as either patriotic or anti war. However, some movies were produced which took a more neutral stance on the violence and focused more on historical accuracy. In The Longest Day, directed by Darryl F. Zanuck, the Allies plan and execute landings on several beaches in France such as Normandy to enter the European theater at the start of the second World War. It also shows the events of D Day from everyone s point of view, even including Nazi Germany and the French Resistance. The Longest Day asserted itself as an extremely successful film because of the more neutral approach it took on the fighting, the historical accuracy it possessed, and it s depiction of ethnic relations. Unlike most films at the time, The Longest Day did not strongly take a pro war or anti war stance. Instead it had more of an uncommitted theme which was centered around the correctness of the battles of the war. Nevertheless, there are some occasional scenes showing valor and bravery, such as the scene at Utah beach where soldiers charge. I believe Zanuck chose to make the film equitable instead of a patriotic film or an anti war film because he truly wanted to capture the battles and what he saw of the war. St. Johns consisted of sixty four boys, with many of them left alone in the aftermath of World War I along with the influenza epidemic. Outside of the care provided for the boys, the program offered them a life parallel to anyone living in the city. Activities such as afternoon sports, free time and contact with friends and family outside of the institution were provided and endorsed by the institution for the boys. Gannon s approach to working with youth focused on the following things highlighted in the article: creating smaller living groups for the boys, less regimented routines, more experiences of childhood and adolescence in everyday life, and a focus on developing meaningful relationships with one another (Freeman, 2015, p. 37). In other words, Gannon s main goal was to lead and guide the youth so that they are given an equal chance at succeeding in life. William was born in 1564 to a successful middle class glove maker in Stratford upon Avon, England. Shakespeare attended grammar school, but his formal education proceeded no further. In 1582 he married an older woman, Anne Hathaway, and had three beautiful children. Around 1590 he left his family and traveled to London to work as an actor and playwright. We can gain experience from the past, but we can t relive it; and we can hope for the future, but we don t know if there is one. (George Harrison) Although things can come from the past, they must be put to use in the know, and although we like to plan for the future, we need to try and make an impact now. What George Harrison is trying to say is that while it is nice to try to set things up for the future, we need to use what was given to us from the past, to try and better the lives of other immediately. We have all heard the phrase sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me on the playground or school bus ride home. The phrase was normally thrown out to bullies during a fight in the schoolyard, pushes in the hall, food thrown in the cafeteria, or during the endless teasing and taunting on bus rides to/from school. According to a national survey conducted by the National Center for Education Services, U.S. Department of Education in 2002, 32% of students in grades 6 12 reported being bullied. Cyber bullying is a new phenomenon that even the most tech savvy wasn t prepared for. It allows the aggressor to pick on their victim at all hours of the day. It s not limited to the classroom anymore; it allows the bully to enter the victim s safe zone: home. Emails, instant messaging, photo transmitting, and social media outlets are the fuel that feeds this behavior. In traditional bullying, at the end of the day you can escape the torment, but with cyber bullying, there is no escape. • 28. Persuasive Essay On Climate Crisis As advances in technology and medicine lead to longer lifespans and lowered mortality from disease, some people worry about overpopulating the earth. These people also argue that aid work will fuel the population growth and demolish one of the only forms of population control. Melinda Gates explains that as people work to provide more education and contraceptives to women in third world countries, the birth rate will naturally decrease, especially as they worry less about having a child survive into adulthood (Rosen). Currently there is enough to sustain the population and its growth in the years to come; presently the issue is not the number of people, but rather, the distribution and effective use of resources. The World Economic Forum s Global Shaper Survey shows that most millennials agree that climate change is the most urgent issue and that they can do something to fix it (Jackson). Bill Gates has mentioned the possibility of a new charity dedicated to solving the climate change issue because he views it as the most imminent threat to the survival and advancement of humanity. An article on The Guardian even mentions that The foundation s annual letter for 2015 says their achievements could be undone by the advancing climate crisis. (Mathiesen). It also indicates the fact that Piet has relationships with both the bridegroom and the black workers. Piet is therefore not as strictly confined to one camp as the other workers are. • 33. Reproductive Rights Argumentative Analysis Encompassing the specific points and pieces of the reproductive war that I have discussed thus far, I believe that abortion and the reproductive rights umbrella is indeed a feminist issue. In an era when reproductive rights are being especially combated, as they are in the present (Murray, 301) feminists need to be clear and fervent about where we stand and what we are fighting for. Though perhaps a very controversial opinion, I believe that pro life women are counterproductive to this fight. Jeanne Mancini, the President of the biggest anti abortion event, the March for Life, claims that she has talked to an substantial amount of women who have regretted having an abortion. Many of these women label themselves as pro life feminists and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... How is that honorable? In a lesser, subtler comparison to Mancini and the pro life feminists, that is like saying that just because I regret getting a tattoo, I believe that no one should be able to get one. In addition, the phrase pro life is often a misnomer. March for Life labels itself as pro life but to indeed be pro life, the group in question needs to equally care about all life that is involved in a pregnancy. This often is not the case, as the unborn child s needs are considered and the mother s are not, or not as much. Whether it is a man, a woman, or a woman who has labeled herself a pro life feminist, they take away personal bodily autonomy from women. To imply or outright claim that the rights of an undeveloped fetus are greater than the rights of a woman to choose what happens in her own body is absurd, and to assume that a woman is not capable of making an informed decision about her own body is nothing more than misogyny, no matter who is against it. As was pointed out earlier, 86 percent of fathers said they would take paternity leave if it paid 70% of their income. For a lot men in the Citation survey, the expected income reduction did not dissuade them from taking parental leave to be with their newborn and wife. My own survey showed me that the majority of respondents, and perhaps of the population, is unaware that there is currently no paid parental leave law in the country. This came as a surprise since only one of them did not have kids. Expectant father Philip Holt said that he was also unaware of the lack of a paid parental leave law in the country. However, when asked if they think the country should have a paid parental leave law, most replied yes ( Parental Leave Awareness , n. pag.). Perhaps these survey results also coincide with the assertion by some researchers that nurturing and caretaking is not just an inborn characteristic but an acquired one. The result of this Citation survey points us to the strong possibility of re defining gender roles. But gender redefining aside, in order for a parental leave law to promote the medical, societal, and economic benefits it entails, it needs to be practical for everybody to take. • 42. Extrinsic Allergic Alveolitis ( Hp ) Is An Inflammatory... Abstract Hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP), also known as extrinsic allergic alveolitis, is an inflammatory lung disease caused by repeated inhalation of antigens in the sensitized population, and presents with allergic inflammation in the alveoli and bronchioles. It is traditionally classified into acute, subacute and chronic forms, but the criteria for such classification are often unclear. Immune complexes and lymphocytes mediate the inflammatory process of HP, which leads to high cell count in bronchoalveolar lavage. The risk factors of HP are not completely clear, but both genes and environment are probably involved in the initiation of HP. Removal of antigens is the best way to prevent and manage HP. Finally two common forms of occupational HP, metalworking fluid induced HP and hot tub lung, are reviewed. Hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP) is an inflammatory lung disease that is sometimes called extrinsic allergic alveolitis. Considering the disease also affects bronchioles, however, the name of HP seems more accurate and universally accepted (Quirce et al., 2016). HP, of which farmer s lung was the earliest discovered, is induced by repeated inhalation of antigens in the sensitized population, and presents with allergic inflammation in the alveoli and bronchioles (Chmelik et al., 1974; Johansson et al., 2001).
