Gender, Gender Identity And Sexual Orientation Essay
Many parents voice a fear about their child learning about gender, gender identity, and sexual
orientation. They think that hearing, seeing, or learning these things will influence their child.
According to research, however, no matter how often children are exposed to these topics they still
will make their own decisions later on in life on the matter. Often parents are upset when they hear
their children are learning about these terms because they do not know the dictionaries definitions for
these words are. According to webster; gender is the state of being male or female, the word typically
used to reference social and cultural differences rather than biological ones. Gender identity is a
person s perception of having a particular gender that may not correspond with the sex they were
given at birth. Sexual orientation is a person s sexual identity in relation to the gender to which they
are attracted. Many times a person s sexual orientation can be labeled as heterosexual, homosexual, or
bisexual. Diversity is an important lesson to teach children especially at a young age. To understand
how to best teach diversity about gender in a classroom background information, teaching strategies,
and student s understanding of diversity is important.
Diversity activities teach children to respect and celebrate the differences in all people. Gender, gender
identity, and sexual orientation are controversial topics in today s day and age. Even in 2017 people

Louisiana Territory Research Paper
If the United States had not purchased the Louisiana Territory and won the Western Lands from
Mexico in the Mexican American War, our nation would be a very different place. Firstly, if we
wouldn t have purchased the Louisiana Territory we would probably not have all the land that we have
today in the United States. Secondly, in my opinion if it wasn t for Thomas Jefferson, Meriwether
Lewis, William Clark, and all the Native Americans the exploration could have been very different
from what it was. Also, Meriwether Lewis led the expedition and William Clark was to co lead the
expedition with Lewis. The Louisiana Territory was a good move for the U.S. because it doubled the

troops during the Monterrey, and in September 25th, 1846 they captured the city. Winfield Scott
landed in Veracruz and he defeated the Mexicans, and during this time it was very important on the
United States side to control the port. In my opinion without these two U.S. Generals we would need
even more help to win. The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo was signed on February 2, 1848. This was a
big deal in my opinion for both sides of the war. The United States paid 15 million dollars for
California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah. These turned into states and now are apart of the

Positive And Negative Impact Of Loanwords
This paper examines the positive, and negative, impact of English loanwords; currently being used in
the Japanese language. Loanwords are words that have been borrowed from one language and
incorporated into another; these words are sometimes integrated without any further modification. The
initial consideration is as to why so many English loanwords have managed to infiltrate the Japanese
language. Thereafter, the negative and positive implications for Japanese society are explored. The
aim is to draw a final conclusion, based on an objective review of previous studies on the subject.
Keywords: Colonization, globalization, contentious, population
The Positive and Negative Impact of English Loanwords on the Japanese Language Over a prolonged
period of time, the use of English has expanded to the point that is has become a truly global language.
Presently, there are more than 1.5 billion English speakers worldwide; the reasons for this are varied.
English being the preferred method of internet communication; British colonization and the world s
fixation with American popular culture, are just some of the contributory factors. There can be little
doubt that this expansion of English as a lingua franca ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This has caused both positive and negative reactions, the latter prompting calls for government
intervention from some sections of society. Loanwords are referred to as gairaigo in Japanese. In
recent times, the contentious subject of gairaigo has become a hot topic of debate for the Japanese
media, the government and the general public. Japanese is a language that has evolved through contact
with foreign languages. In the 4th century, with no discernable method of written communication in
place, the Japanese adopted Chinese characters as a written means of communicating (Ola,

The Rise Of Imperialism
I am struggling with the term imperialism, since I don t see the U.S. as an empire even though they did
occupy different territories over the years; however, when discussing the new imperialism, he does
elaborate on how the Brits, the French, and the German have taken a different approach stating the
following: The British in India, it is said, have abolished suttee; the French in Africa have made
Timbuctoo accessible to the methods of modern commerce and to the allurements of Parisian art; the
Germans have made the forms of their bureaucracy familiar in darkest Kiao Chao... (Dunning, 814).

Processed Foods Vs. U.s. No Good Deed Goes Unpunished
Processed Foods vs U.S.
No good deed goes unpunished. Today the world tends to depend on and live off of processed foods
that are typically produced from genetically modified organisms or GMOs. The foods that people love
to snack on are slowly changing the health of the population of the United States. These GMO packed
tasty foods are cheap and readily available. Food and Drug Association also referred to as the FDA
does not classify GMOs as food(Pollan,2001). These foods are accessible at almost every store in the
United States causing the rate of consumption to increase. The easy accessibility to these foods is
causing the people of the US to become more obese, especially children. Obesity rates continue to rise
and don t seem to be stopping. Growing children tend to have multiple unhealthy snacks throughout
the course of a day. Lower and middle class citizens tend to buy the cheaper unhealthy processed
foods. People are consuming these accessible tasty snacks in copious amounts and are becoming
obese. While processed foods are less expensive and more readily available, the obesity rate will
continue to rapidly grow until processed foods are cut out of the daily diet of America.
Processed foods are becoming more readily available due to convenience. The term processed food
applies to any food that has been altered from its natural state in some way, either for safety reasons or
convenience (Eating Processed Foods). An example of a processed food would be

1 Samuel s Horton Hears A Who !
Read Samuel 3. How are these stories similar? How do they differ? In 1 Samuel 1, the Lord called
Samuel, a young boy who was studying under the priest Eli. Samuel heard his name being called,
which he assumed was coming from Eli. When he went to Eli, he was told to return to bed. Finally, Eli
realized that it was the Lord who was calling Samuel, so he told Samuel to listen. The Lord tells
Samuel that Eli s family has sinned, and that nothing will ever make up for what he has done, a
message which Samuel has to pass on to Eli. There are certainly some similarities between this story
and Horton Hears a Who! They are both stories in which a character hears something that nobody else
hears, and in both stories the character is not believed. However, in Horton Hears a Who!, Horton is
forced to flee because he is punished for believing that the speck made a noise. In 1 Samuel 3, Eli
does quickly realize (without proof) that it was in fact the Lord calling Samuel. How did Horton come

If each school day is 6 hours long, then by the time a student graduates high school, they have been to

amount of time, and if you include university, it may even surpass 20,000 hours. Humans clearly value
knowledge and education. But why? The answer is that knowledge is what makes us human. Our
ability to think critically, reason, invent, and discover is what separates us from every other living
thing on the planet. Human ingenuity is what advances civilization. Knowledge is what brought us to
the moon, and it is what gave us every piece of modern technology we can imagine. Knowledge

Credibility is the measurement by which one s reputation is evaluated for the presence of
trustworthiness in work excellence, the ability to empathize with those who are in your employ or
those who are your employers, as well as one s corporate and personal values; notwithstanding, one s
ability to deliver on promises (Cardon, P., pg. 3, 2013). Therefore, in order to achieve credibility one

Try as Samuel might there was no understanding his life with Valarie. He never really knew that

but she loved him in her own way. Yet back then, in the beginning, in a time that is best left where it

to give him the love he wanted, but she just could not, did not have it in her to give.

It would be good if he could dismiss the thought, the idea, but since that night, that dreadful night,
strange things have been going on. He would see her disappearing out of his view or appearing out of
nowhere. He had to tell himself that it was just his mind playing tricks on him. He was happy to settle
with that for now. The woman that had once given him love that Valarie could not, the woman that
took part in the betrayal of Valarie s love was still refusing to go away. Thinking about his betrayal
now made him reflect on Marlene s betrayal.
How could two people so important in Valarie s life do such a thing to her? Marlene was prepared to
take him away from Valarie. She told him time and time again that she could love him in ways that
Valarie could not. She questioned his love for Valarie.
If you really love her, then why are you with me?
He had to confess to himself that he had grown to love Marlene in a way and yet there was something

The Role Of Yongzheng In Manchu And China
Emperor Kangxi died in 1722, leaving Yongzheng to become the fourth emperor of the Manchu Qing
Dynasty. The Kangxi emperor had fourteen sons and it was Yongzheng who ascended to the throne,
some accused Yongzheng of using nefarious tactics to achieve his position. Yongzheng s language
abilities in Manchu and Chinese as well as his cultivation in traditional classics and poetry all met
with his father s approval, but it was his sincerity in performing filial piety that especially won Kangxi
s praise. Being chosen as Emperor caused his brothers great unhappiness, because of their jealousy
much of Yongzheng s early years on the throne were spent defending his rule through political
maneuvering and consolidating his power of his Empire.

Borders of life and lands Gregory
Boca Chica is municipality of the Dominican Republic, located upon the island of Hispaniola in the
Gulf of Chiriquí. The history of conflict between the Dominican side of the island (influenced by
Spanish colonial rule) and the Western Haitian side is long standing, dating back to the 1880 s. Upon
the modern day landscape there is an imaginary line which divides Hispaniola into a land of two
countries. One side of which is Haiti and the other the Dominican Republic. It is on the Dominican
side where Gregory focuses his ethnography.
Through anecdotal interviews bureaucratic and social borders are described, which not only exclude
and disempower the Haitian residents of the country, but which also also alienate citizens of
Dominican descent due to their financial state. Dominican parents are required to register the birth of a
child at office of Civil Registry so as to be issued with a birth certificate. When the child reaches the
age of eighteen, this certificate can than be exchanged for an adult cédula , which is required for
voting, securing formal employment and obtaining licenses and other documents. However, many
parents, especially those in rural areas, may delay or neglect registering their children s birth, through
oversight, ignorance, or lack of resources to travel or to pay the required taxes (Gregory 2007:36). As

Foreshadowing In The Tell Tale Heart
The Tell Tale Heart is a famous horror fiction by Edgar Allan Poe. Poe is regarded as an important
writer of suspense and terror tales. His stories are often composed of dark and terrifying atmosphere,
and The Tell Tale Heart is also expressing terror with the story of an insane man killing the old man
pitilessly. The narrator plans to kill the old man because of his vulture eye. He cruelly kills the old
man and buries him under the floor. In the story, the intense feeling is created through setting, skill of
foreshadowing and irony. First of all, the dark setting of the old man s room manifests terror in the
story. His room was as black as pitch with the thick darkness (for the windows were close fastened,
through fear of robbers), and so I knew that he could not see the opening of the door, .... (56 59). The
author directly portrays the dark scene of the old man s room as black pitch, and the word thick
emphasizes the deepness of the dark. The fact that the old man could see nothing because there s no
light makes the readers feel anxious. People depend on the light for their own protection, and they
instinctively feel fear when it gets dark around ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I heard all things in the heaven and in the earth. I heard many things in hell. (5 6). It is a delusion that
one can hear all things in the heaven and hell, but the narrator insists that he can hear those things.
This proves that the narrator is insane and makes readers get curious about the reason for the narrator s
insistence. If we think simply, heaven and hell are the main elements that are indicating death, so it is
logical to predict death in the story. Death is a main subject of horror and it creates a heavy
atmosphere in the story. Heavy atmosphere and the growing tension of death causes the emotion of
fear. In addition to foreshadowing, this story contains one more powerful constituent for the

Research On Asian American Identity Essay
Sitting in a circle, most of those who were staring at me also looked like me black hair, squinted eyes,
and yellow skin. Not twenty minutes ago, I paced around the heart of a predominantly white college
campus. Now, I was introducing myself to the members of Asian Students United (ASU). While I was
never a part of ASU, I asked one of the organization s executive board (eboard) members Tien, who
happened to a Facebook friend if I could attend a couple of their meetings to conduct research on
Asian American identity. He delightfully agreed. After all, from an outsider perspective, I would fit
right in. At these meetings, I participated in many of their activities, which included making a quilt
and participating in discussions. Yet, I was always observant and somewhat detached because this was
all new to me, making me an observer participant. This allowed me to observe a range of details;
however, because I was so new, such details may have been unimportant to those whom I studied. On
the other hand, my Vietnamese church was all too familiar. As a full participant in the church and a

Tonya Harding s Attack On Nancy Kerrigan In 2003
Deception is not usually easy to detect, even if millions of eyes are watching the supposed deceiver.
This is especially true in the case of Tonya Harding. Harding is a former U.S. figure skater whose
reputation for being the first American woman to complete a triple axel is far overshadowed by her
assumed participation in an attack on fellow Olympic skater, Nancy Kerrigan in 1994. Harding and
Kerrigan both participated in the 1992 Olympics, where Kerrigan placed third in the figure skating
competition and Harding placed just behind her in fourth. The two women competed against each
other again in 1994 as they both fought for a spot on the U.S. Olympic team. Less than two months
prior to the Olympic games, Kerrigan was attacked during one of ... Show more content on

However, most of the interviews that the public saw were conducted by television personalities or
reporters, not trained investigators. None of the interviewers appeared to impose cognitive load on
Harding. The questions were straightforward and did not pertain to any specific events. Most of the
interviewers questions pertained to Harding s personal feelings about the events; fabricating personal
emotions is less taxing than verifiable details or time and location specific events (Vrij et al., 2011).
The questions asked in interviews were also quite predictable and scripted. This allowed for Harding
to practice what she might answer to these questions and planned lies are more difficult to detect (Vrij
et al., 2011). Summary Although it is still not known if Harding was fully involved in the attack on
Nancy Kerrigan or if she had prior information about the attack, she was at least deceiving the public
by concealing information. Her assumed deception was and still is difficult to detect. This is because
there is no one cue that indicates deception. In addition, myths and biases, unobserved and misleading
cues, self deception, and a failure to use the cognitive approach could have further complicated the
process of deception

Love and Morality in the The Lady with the Lapdog by Anton Chekhov
Introduction
The Lady with the Lapdog, is a story by a Russian author Anton Chekhov. It is a story that raises
eyebrows and entices the mind as one reads through to understand the actions of the two main
characters, Anna and Gurov. Their actions are looked down and unspeakable according to the Russian
society. Chekhov has successfully managed to show how self pleasure rise above everything in his
short story. The short story revolves around love and morality as the two characters fall for one
another because of their unhappy married lives.

Chekhov has succeeded in bringing out love and morality as two main themes in his story. Bringing
two people who are already married together and giving them the atmosphere and opportunity to love
each other shows some ambiguity in his literary work. Dmitri having married his wife at a young age
while still in the university didn t give him the opportunity to experience life. He loathes his wife and
as a result he has many love affairs ... he considered her narrow and unintelligent. After meeting Anna
and falling in love with her, he does many things out of the ordinary just to be with her. He lies to his
wife that he was taking his daughter to school just to get chance to be with Anna in a hotel room.
...Gurov went to the Slaviansky Bazaar after dropping her daughter in school. He lies a second time to
his wife on Christmas day that he is scheduled to attend a business trip at Saint Petersburg (Chekhov
15). He goes to see Anna and confesses his love to her. Chekhov has thus portrayed Dmitri to lack
morals just because they are in love; he does things against the ways society just because of love.
Anna also plays an important role in developing the themes of love and morality. She truly loves
Dmitri and enjoys the quality time they spend together. Her unhappy marriage with the lackey
prompts her to fall in love with Dmitri who is also unhappy in his marriage.

Carbohydrate Video Analysis
One of the best statements of this particular video is that nutrition is not black and white. Many people
trying to lose weight cut out on carbohydrates. However, cutting out carbohydrates totally is not
necessarily a good direction. Kyle Gunnars stated the following, If you simply remove the
unhealthiest carb sources from your diet, wheat (including whole wheat) and added sugars, then you ll
be well on your way to improved health. Cutting out bad carbohydrates or calories that are not quality
carbohydrates is a much better option. Fruits and vegetable contain many nutrients and are considered
a good carbohydrate. Fruits and Vegetables contain lots of water, which is a carbohydrates best friend.

The case for VC firms is similar. General partners must convince some in regards to the affiliations
already said to place put into the store with the certification of tremendous returns (in the region of 5X
and 10X) in a particular time period (as a rule 10 years).
The VC firms should then go ahead to make clever investments so they can give the limited partners
their cash back... in addition to a benefit.
How do Venture Capital firms make money? The way Venture Capital funds make money are two
fold: by managements fee and carries (carried interest).
Management fees: administration charges are typically characterized as the cost of having your
benefits professionally managed . How does this convert into the Venture Capital industry? VC
capitals commonly pay a yearly administration charge to the reserve s administration organization, as
a type of salary and an approach to cover authoritative and funds expenses. Administration expenses
are normally figured on a level of the capital duties of the reserve, or around 2 to 2.5 per cent.
Carried premium or carry: share of the profit of an investment or investments fund that is paid to the
investment administrator in abundance of the sum that the director adds to the partnership. When an
investment is effective, a carry speaks to the offer of the profit that is paid to the fund supervisors.

Donald Trump s Use Of Artifice In The Media
Political leaders who use the tools of mass propaganda to create a sense of faux intimacy with citizens,
no longer need to be competent, sincere, or honest. In the quote, Hedges is explaining who uses
artifice and what they do with their power. Artifice is a skill that is difficult to maintain and keep
realistic. Being the most essential skill, artifice is the art of deceiving. People s ideas and thoughts are
altered for the gain of one and the loss of another. Everyone will need artifice at some point in their
life to get the attention, item, or person they want. Specifically, our current President, Donald Trump,
uses artifice all too much. He has exceeded his use of artifice. Trump won was because of his
excellent use of artifice. He was able to persuade enough people to vote for him and his changes he
would fulfill. Artifice takes quite skill to make believable for your audience. The importance of
artifice during his ruling is immense, making it the most essential skill. Donald Trump is portrayed as
a lying, evil individual in the media. Although we may not know the complete and total truth, we are
able to identify that he is lying about something. For example, one of the very first things Trump had
said to gather the attention of the audience would be about getting rid of all illegal immigrants.
Rapidly, people began turning their heads and opening their ears when they finally understood what he
was trying to do. The consistency and emotional appeal

The Big Short, Directed By Adam Mckay
Summary
The film the Big Short, directed by Adam McKay is about the financial/housing crisis of 2008. The
film explains how the history of the housing market, how the crisis began, and introduced all of the
people and companies involved. The most important aspect of the movie was that the crisis was
foreseen, but nothing was done to prevent it. The three main characters are Michael Burry, Jared
Vennett, and Mark Baum. Burry was the first to recognize the faulty practices of the housing market,
and bet against the market. His actions caught the attention of Vennett and Baum, which led them to
investigate the housing market, and bet against it as well.
Housing/Financial Crisis of 2008
During the housing/financial crisis of 2008, I was in the 10th grade. My parents did not have bank
accounts or owned a home, and I did not watch the news, therefore I did not anything about the crisis.
Prior to watching the film, I had no clue it occurred. All of the information in the film was new
knowledge. A few terms that were new to me were subprime mortgage, collateralized debt obligation
(CDO), adjustable rates and credit default swap.
A subprime mortgage is a loan that is offered to people who are not necessarily qualified for a loan,
which makes them risky mortgages. Since the lenders are taking on this risk, the interest rates are
extremely high to somewhat make up for the risk. A CDO is various pieces of assets that are put
together and sold to investors. Assets that are included

Ocean Symbolism In Lord Of The Flies
A symbol is anything that represents an object, an idea, a character, an action, or an animal in the
story. Many times, these symbols signify something conceptual, like a force of nature, a condition of
the world, or an idea. In the book, Lord Of The Flies, there are many symbols that signify the
beginning or end of something new in the story. For example, the island and the ocean, the water
current flowing backwards, and the beast all symbolize a new change and realization to the story. The
island and the ocean symbolize an uncharted, untouched area, the indefinite and endless nature of life
that can change from calm to chaos in seconds, and, also, strength, tranquility, and stability. The island
and the ocean symbolize both a paradise and also the destructive nature of humanity. The island can
symbolize a Garden of Eden, a pristine and bountiful place where the boys can begin anew. In the
beginning of the book, Jack says, we are going to have fun on this island (Golding 104). The boys
really did think of this island as a paradise, or at least Jack did. However, much like the biblical
Garden of Eden, paradise can be suddenly lost when the boys are enticed by evil. The advent of the
boys pollutes the sanctity of the island, as did the advent of Satan and the eventual temptation of Eve
and loss and innocence ( Lauryn Galloway ). The pristine paradise is set on fire by the boys and
everything gets destroyed but luckily it saved them because a ship saw the smoke. The ocean can
symbolize the incessant and endless nature of life but it also symbolizes becoming astray and then
finding one s way through life. The ocean is a boundless space isolating the boys from all they once
knew about the world. But after Simon dies and gets washed out into the sea, the ocean symbolizes all
good getting washed away, getting replaced by evil. Simon becomes the good bygone and Jack
becomes the evil washing over. But the island and the ocean aren t the only symbols in the book. The
water current flowing backwards, that deceives many into thinking it is just a detail, actually
symbolizes more. The water current flowing backwards can symbolize many things. It could be giving
the subtle impression that civilization may be

Natural Gas Is A Non Renewable Resource
Natural Gas
Natural gas is a non renewable resource, meaning that it will not last forever. If the production of
natural gas continues at the same rate, it will only last for approximately another 91 years. Natural gas
is a power source used to power particular things in homes, for example heaters, hot water and stoves.
The way this particular power source is produced/sourced is that at the bottom of the ocean, deceased
animals and plants etc. otherwise called organic matter are found and can be broken down into the
formation of natural gas through a series of wells and pipes, and delivered to homes and businesses
and other places where natural gas is used through the pipes. Scientists are trying to find other
resources for gas because they are aware that the current one won t last and that they are harming the
environment and habitats of creatures in the sea through this procedure. This procedure is called
Hydraulic Fracturing, otherwise known as fracking . Part of the fracking procedure is that a high water
pressure is sent through tubes and pipes under water being forced onto different rocks. This water,
however, contains several harmful chemicals that damage the organisms and animals and their habitats
under water. Once the rock is cracked/ fractured, the oil and gas is carried back up the pipes. The air is
also polluted in this procedure as the findings of the fracking process are relocated into either
evaporators or into condensation tanks releasing dangerous

The automatic nervous system is equipped with multiple automatic functions necessary for the body s
activities to function properly, such as breathing or maintaining a steady heart rate (Kidshealth.org,

motivate an individual to perform under pressure, or even protect themselves in a dangerous situation
(Segal et al., 2016). Although its main objective is to protect and motivate, stress in extreme amounts
can begin to cause physiological and emotional problems, ranging from heart and coronary problems

Essay on Health Education Intervention
Health Education Intervention
Multiple approach to community health (MATCH) model, which was introduced by Simons Morton,
Greene and Gottlieb in the late 1980s, is considered to be very comprehensive and extensive for
practical analysis. The model is not very popular among many scholars thus making it not much
available in many texts. However, the paper is concerned about the reasons that make it the most
preferred method of public health education intervention in the case of substance abuse (Simons
Morton, Greene Gottlieb, 1995, p. 49). The MATCH model is applicable to education on substance
abuse since behavioral, environmental risk and the protective factors for disease or injury are known

83). In addition, it identifies health behavior by focusing on the prevalence and how changeable the
model is in the training of the population. It further identifies the environmental goals and regulations
that are related to substance abuse (Larsen Merlo, 2005, p. 83).
The second phase of this model is concerned about intervention planning. To begin with, it is helpful
since it involves the target group that should be involved in the education program at community
level. It helps in the selection of intervention objectives and further identifies the mediators of the
objectives together with using theories to select the interventions. One of the objectives could be
targeting how to stop substance abuse (Simons Morton, Greene Gottlieb, 1995, p. 49).
The model also increases the applicability of the program since it is concerned with program
development. This phase looks into creating program units, channels and the objectives of educating
the population on substance abuse. Another importance of this model is the strong association between
learning materials and methods used in the education program. It is also important that the program
creates new materials that are developed after pilot testing of the impact created in the community
after substance abuse education (Simons Morton, Greene Gottlieb, 1995, p. 49).
The fourth phase is important since it is concerned about implementation preparation. It is concerned

The Social Determinants of Health: It s

Paula Braveman, MD, MPHa

ABSTRACT
During the past two decades, the public health community s attention has been drawn increasingly to
the social determinants of health (SDH) the factors apart from medical care that can be influenced by
social policies and shape health in powerful ways. We use medical care rather than health care to refer
to clinical services, to avoid potential confusion between health and health care. The World Health
Organization s Commission on the Social Determinants of Health has defined SDH as the conditions

McKeown attributed the dramatic increases in life expectancy since the 19th century primarily to
improved living conditions, including nutrition, sanitation, and clean water.23 While advances in
medical care also may have contributed,23 26 most authors believe that nonmedical factors, including
conditions within the purview of traditional public health, were probably more important;24 public
health nursing, including its role in advocacy, may have played an important role in improved living
standards.27 Another example of the limits of medical care is the widening of mortality disparities
between social classes in the United Kingdom in the decades following the creation of the National
Health Service in
1948, which made medical care universally accessible.28
Using more recent data, Martinson found that although health overall was better in the United
Kingdom than in the United States, which lacks universal coverage, disparities in health by income
were similar in the two countries.29 Large inequalities in health according to social class have been
documented repeatedly across different European countries, again despite more universal access to
medical care.30 32
Another often cited example of the limits of medical care is the fact that, although spending on

Christians Celebrations of Holy Communion Essay
Christians Celebrations of Holy Communion
There are many different ways in which Christians celebrate Holy Communion, depending on the
denomination of Christianity, in which they belong. Holy Communion is one of the seven sacraments
found in Christianity. A sacrament is an outward physical act with an inward, deeper meaning, which
can be obtained through various, specific rituals. In the case of Holy Communion, which is also
known as the Eucharist meal or Mass, Christian worshippers believe that they receive the body and the
blood of Jesus Christ, through the act of eating the bread, which symbolises Christ s body, and by
drinking the wine, said to be his blood. This sacrament originates back to ... Show more content on

God sacrificed his son, Jesus, for the good of all people and so that they too would depart from the
slavery and the submission to sins and wrongdoings, in order to enter into a pure state of forgiveness
and freedom. This is the key reason why Christians, of all branches, hold a great importance to Holy
Communion, which remembers Christ s sacrifice to them, which frees them of their sins up till this
day.
Even though, most, if not all Christian denominations agree about the origins of such a ritual, they
now have different opinions about how the service is conducted. The Roman Catholic Church believes
in the idea of transubstantiation, which is the belief that the bread and wine that they consume at the
Eucharist meal, has over the years, mystically transformed into Jesus real body and blood. Roman
Catholics celebrate Holy Communion or Mass regularly. Roman Catholics believe that the Mass is a
sacrifice. Each time it is celebrated Christ renews the sacrifice that he made for the sins of the world
when he was crucified. This is why they frequently celebrate it. In some Churches, only people who
have been confirmed are allowed to participate in the celebration of Holy Communion, whereas in the
Roman Catholic Church there is no such restriction. This emphasises how Jesus had welcomed
everybody in his own life and had treated everyone

Barton Leroux
Main Idea: Gaston Leroux (Kilian)
I must crack this code, as how could a killer escape from a locked room? Oh, hello, I m Gaston
Leroux, renowned detective fiction author. I was born in Paris, France on May 6, 1868. I went to
school in Normandy, and went to college in Paris. I graduated in law in 1886, when I inherited a large
sum of money from my father. My lifestyle changed from then on, and I turned to leading a life of
drinking and gambling. That all ended less than a year later, when I almost went bankrupt. From there,
I started working as a court reporter, then a journalist, before leaving that in 1907 to write fiction
novels. My two most famous works were Rouletabille And The Mystery of The Yellow Room, and
The Phantom of The Opera.
I wrote my first book, Rouletabille And The Mystery of The Yellow Room in 1907. It was the first
book in a series of detective fiction novels, with the series ending in 1922. It starred Joseph
Rouletabille, amateur detective taking on his first case, a murder of the daughter of a noble, in the
titular yellow room. The case seemed impossible, as the room had no windows, and the door was
locked at the time of the murder, yet the killer escaped. I added complex and detailed diagrams of
floor plans and paths in the book to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

opera house, but exaggerated and made into a work of fiction. The book has been adapted many times,
most notably the 1925 silent film, the 1986 musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber, and the less than stellar

Firstly, if we wouldn t have purchased the Louisiana Territory we would probably not have all the land that we have today in the United States. Secondly, in my opinion if it wasn t for Thomas Jefferson, Meriwether Lewis, William Clark, and all the Native Americans the exploration could have been very different from what it was. Loanwords are words that have been borrowed from one language and incorporated into another; these words are sometimes integrated without any further modification. Thereafter, the negative and positive implications for Japanese society are explored. The aim is to draw a final conclusion, based on an objective review of previous studies on the subject. Today the world tends to depend on and live off of processed foods that are typically produced from genetically modified organisms or GMOs. The foods that people love to snack on are slowly changing the health of the population of the United States. These GMO packed tasty foods are cheap and readily available. Food and Drug Association also referred to as the FDA does not classify GMOs as food(Pollan,2001). These foods are accessible at almost every store in the United States causing the rate of consumption to increase. The easy accessibility to these foods is causing the people of the US to become more obese, especially children. Obesity rates continue to rise and don t seem to be stopping. Growing children tend to have multiple unhealthy snacks throughout the course of a day. Lower and middle class citizens tend to buy the cheaper unhealthy processed foods. People are consuming these accessible tasty snacks in copious amounts and are becoming obese. While processed foods are less expensive and more readily available, the obesity rate will continue to rapidly grow until processed foods are cut out of the daily diet of America. The Lord tells Samuel that Eli s family has sinned, and that nothing will ever make up for what he has done, a message which Samuel has to pass on to Eli. There are certainly some similarities between this story and Horton Hears a Who! They are both stories in which a character hears something that nobody else hears, and in both stories the character is not believed. The history of conflict between the Dominican side of the island (influenced by Spanish colonial rule) and the Western Haitian side is long standing, dating back to the 1880 s. Upon the modern day landscape there is an imaginary line which divides Hispaniola into a land of two countries. One side of which is Haiti and the other the Dominican Republic. It is on the Dominican side where Gregory focuses his ethnography. Through anecdotal interviews bureaucratic and social borders are described, which not only exclude and disempower the Haitian residents of the country, but which also also alienate citizens of Dominican descent due to their financial state. His stories are often composed of dark and terrifying atmosphere, and The Tell Tale Heart is also expressing terror with the story of an insane man killing the old man pitilessly. The narrator plans to kill the old man because of his vulture eye. He cruelly kills the old man and buries him under the floor. In the story, the intense feeling is created through setting, skill of foreshadowing and irony. First of all, the dark setting of the old man s room manifests terror in the story. Donald Trump s Use Of Artifice In The Media Political leaders who use the tools of mass propaganda to create a sense of faux intimacy with citizens, no longer need to be competent, sincere, or honest. In the quote, Hedges is explaining who uses artifice and what they do with their power. Artifice is a skill that is difficult to maintain and keep realistic. Being the most essential skill, artifice is the art of deceiving. People s ideas and thoughts are altered for the gain of one and the loss of another. Everyone will need artifice at some point in their life to get the attention, item, or person they want. Specifically, our current President, Donald Trump, uses artifice all too much. He has exceeded his use of artifice. Trump won was because of his excellent use of artifice. He was able to persuade enough people to vote for him and his changes he would fulfill. Artifice takes quite skill to make believable for your audience. The importance of artifice during his ruling is immense, making it the most essential skill. Donald Trump is portrayed as a lying, evil individual in the media. Although we may not know the complete and total truth, we are able to identify that he is lying about something. His actions caught the attention of Vennett and Baum, which led them to investigate the housing market, and bet against it as well. • 31. Ocean Symbolism In Lord Of The Flies A symbol is anything that represents an object, an idea, a character, an action, or an animal in the story. Many times, these symbols signify something conceptual, like a force of nature, a condition of the world, or an idea. In the book, Lord Of The Flies, there are many symbols that signify the beginning or end of something new in the story. For example, the island and the ocean, the water current flowing backwards, and the beast all symbolize a new change and realization to the story. The island and the ocean symbolize an uncharted, untouched area, the indefinite and endless nature of life that can change from calm to chaos in seconds, and, also, strength, tranquility, and stability. The island and the ocean symbolize both a paradise and also the destructive nature of humanity. The island can symbolize a Garden of Eden, a pristine and bountiful place where the boys can begin anew. In the beginning of the book, Jack says, we are going to have fun on this island (Golding 104). The boys really did think of this island as a paradise, or at least Jack did. However, much like the biblical Garden of Eden, paradise can be suddenly lost when the boys are enticed by evil. The advent of the boys pollutes the sanctity of the island, as did the advent of Satan and the eventual temptation of Eve and loss and innocence ( Lauryn Galloway ). The pristine paradise is set on fire by the boys and everything gets destroyed but luckily it saved them because a ship saw the smoke. The ocean can symbolize the incessant and endless nature of life but it also symbolizes becoming astray and then finding one s way through life. The ocean is a boundless space isolating the boys from all they once knew about the world. But after Simon dies and gets washed out into the sea, the ocean symbolizes all good getting washed away, getting replaced by evil. Simon becomes the good bygone and Jack becomes the evil washing over. But the island and the ocean aren t the only symbols in the book. The water current flowing backwards, that deceives many into thinking it is just a detail, actually symbolizes more. The water current flowing backwards can symbolize many things. It further identifies the environmental goals and regulations that are related to substance abuse (Larsen Merlo, 2005, p. 83). The second phase of this model is concerned about intervention planning. To begin with, it is helpful since it involves the target group that should be involved in the education program at community level. It helps in the selection of intervention objectives and further identifies the mediators of the objectives together with using theories to select the interventions. One of the objectives could be targeting how to stop substance abuse (Simons Morton, Greene Gottlieb, 1995, p. 49). The model also increases the applicability of the program since it is concerned with program development. This phase looks into creating program units, channels and the objectives of educating the population on substance abuse. Another importance of this model is the strong association between learning materials and methods used in the education program. It is also important that the program creates new materials that are developed after pilot testing of the impact created in the community after substance abuse education (Simons Morton, Greene Gottlieb, 1995, p. 49). We use medical care rather than health care to refer to clinical services, to avoid potential confusion between health and health care. The World Health Organization s Commission on the Social Determinants of Health has defined SDH as the conditions in which people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... McKeown attributed the dramatic increases in life expectancy since the 19th century primarily to improved living conditions, including nutrition, sanitation, and clean water.23 While advances in medical care also may have contributed,23 26 most authors believe that nonmedical factors, including conditions within the purview of traditional public health, were probably more important;24 public health nursing, including its role in advocacy, may have played an important role in improved living standards.27 Another example of the limits of medical care is the widening of mortality disparities between social classes in the United Kingdom in the decades following the creation of the National Health Service in 1948, which made medical care universally accessible.28 Using more recent data, Martinson found that although health overall was better in the United Kingdom than in the United States, which lacks universal coverage, disparities in health by income were similar in the two countries.29 Large inequalities in health according to social class have been documented repeatedly across different European countries, again despite more universal access to medical care.30 32 Another often cited example of the limits of medical care is the fact that, although spending on medical care in ... I retrieved this placard from the internet, from Tina Kaufmann s article Super Bowl is single largest magnet for sex trafficking, child prostitution in US , which she published in February 1st, 2013 on the website of WCPO. The intended argument of the placard was to look around as well as to pay attention to what is going on at the time of the Super Bowl, principally, parents need to look after very carefully for their children in an addition to speak up if they notice something suspicious, nevertheless save people from the ... • 38. Christians Celebrations of Holy Communion Essay Christians Celebrations of Holy Communion There are many different ways in which Christians celebrate Holy Communion, depending on the denomination of Christianity, in which they belong. Holy Communion is one of the seven sacraments found in Christianity. A sacrament is an outward physical act with an inward, deeper meaning, which can be obtained through various, specific rituals. In the case of Holy Communion, which is also known as the Eucharist meal or Mass, Christian worshippers believe that they receive the body and the blood of Jesus Christ, through the act of eating the bread, which symbolises Christ s body, and by drinking the wine, said to be his blood. This sacrament originates back to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... God sacrificed his son, Jesus, for the good of all people and so that they too would depart from the slavery and the submission to sins and wrongdoings, in order to enter into a pure state of forgiveness and freedom. This is the key reason why Christians, of all branches, hold a great importance to Holy Communion, which remembers Christ s sacrifice to them, which frees them of their sins up till this day. Even though, most, if not all Christian denominations agree about the origins of such a ritual, they now have different opinions about how the service is conducted. The Roman Catholic Church believes in the idea of transubstantiation, which is the belief that the bread and wine that they consume at the Eucharist meal, has over the years, mystically transformed into Jesus real body and blood. Roman Catholics celebrate Holy Communion or Mass regularly. Roman Catholics believe that the Mass is a sacrifice. Each time it is celebrated Christ renews the sacrifice that he made for the sins of the world when he was crucified. This is why they frequently celebrate it. In some Churches, only people who have been confirmed are allowed to participate in the celebration of Holy Communion, whereas in the Roman Catholic Church there is no such restriction. This emphasises how Jesus had welcomed everybody in his own life and had treated everyone ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 40. Barton Leroux Main Idea: Gaston Leroux (Kilian) I must crack this code, as how could a killer escape from a locked room? Oh, hello, I m Gaston Leroux, renowned detective fiction author. I was born in Paris, France on May 6, 1868. I went to school in Normandy, and went to college in Paris. I graduated in law in 1886, when I inherited a large sum of money from my father. My lifestyle changed from then on, and I turned to leading a life of drinking and gambling. That all ended less than a year later, when I almost went bankrupt. From there, I started working as a court reporter, then a journalist, before leaving that in 1907 to write fiction novels. My two most famous works were Rouletabille And The Mystery of The Yellow Room, and The Phantom of The Opera. I wrote my first book, Rouletabille And The Mystery of The Yellow Room in 1907. It was the first book in a series of detective fiction novels, with the series ending in 1922. It starred Joseph Rouletabille, amateur detective taking on his first case, a murder of the daughter of a noble, in the titular yellow room. The case seemed impossible, as the room had no windows, and the door was locked at the time of the murder, yet the killer escaped. I added complex and detailed diagrams of floor plans and paths in the book to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This story would later be compiled into a full volume and translated a year later, and known as The Phantom of The Opera. It was uniquely written for my time, as it was based on an event that I covered as a journalist, where members of a revolt were being kept as prisoners in the sewers under a famous opera house, but exaggerated and made into a work of fiction. The book has been adapted many times, most notably the 1925 silent film, the 1986 musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber, and the less than stellar 2004 movie made by Joel Schumacher. The musical is still running even to this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
