Land Cover Segregation of Coastal Area using K Means Algorithm Manjari Saha Computer Science
and Engg. Dept., Govt. College of Engineering and Textile Technology, Serampore, Hooghly, West
Bengal, PIN 712201. India. E Mail: cmanjari@gmail.com Abstract Coastal areas provide livelihood
facilities to many and also offer vast recreational and economic activities, and yet, at the same time,
such eco regions require to be managed with special emphasis and consideration of its natural and
cultural resources. Land cover classification of such diverse sea land regions requires a high level of
effort and plays a vital role for the analysis of time based or event based change on certain areas. For
effective utilization of remote sensed images obtained from Earth orbiting satellites, a lot of image
classification methods are available in literature. In this paper, we use the method of unsupervised
classification for the users convenience and flexibility, low computational requirements and moderate
classification accuracy. The objectives of the paper is to classify the land cover by mapping the region
into W S V (Water, Soil, Vegetation) components using the unsupervised K means algorithm, to obtain
land use/cover gray scale image combining the W S V components and thereby finally deriving the
related performance metrics such as histogram and land cover correlation. Keywords Clustering,

Personal Narrative Caffeine
I found the documentary very informative of how addictive caffeine can be. But at the same time it
demonstrated tea which I had no idea there was tea which had caffeine in it. But I wish they would
have shown people who drink tea regularly with caffeine properties stopping the routine of drinking
tea. I wasn t really surprised with how these students were addicted to caffeine the way they are.
Nowadays not all of the times do individuals drink coffee to wake up but just because of all the new
flavoring with iced coffee, This has cause individuals to become addicted to coffee without knowing
but the taste it what is bringing them back. I have been addicted to coffee before, and have drunk
coffee to the point where I needed coffee even drank

Stingy Jack Research Paper
according to folklore, the original version of a jack o lantern was actually a turnip. originally, celtics
(irish) carved turnips on all hallow s eve and placed an ember or coal in them to ward off evil spirits.
there is an old irish fable that tells of stingy jack: stingy jack was an old drunk that enjoyed pranking
people. one day, jack tricked the devil himself into climbing an apple tree. once the devil was up the
tree, jack placed crosses around the base of the tree, knowing that the devil could not touch the
crosses; the devil was stuck in the tree. stingy jack made the devil promise not to take his soul when
he died. the devil promised jack that he would not take his soul, so jack removed the crosses and the

For This Film Analysis, I Viewed Two Movies. The Films
For this film analysis, I viewed two movies. The films viewed were Boys Don t Cry and A Soap. The
movies viewed had the common theme of sexuality. The 2 films both had themes regarding sexuality
and trangenderism. With that my thesis is, Sexuality and its affects and reactions in regards to
interpersonal and familial relationships.
To begin we start we the film that was viewed first, Boys Don t Cry. Boys Don t Cry offers an insight
to the impressions of sexuality and transgenderism in the 1990 s. Five minutes into the film it shows
Brandon Teena being chased by a mob of angry guys calling him a dyke (for him having slept with
one of the men s sisters ). That already shows there is hostility towards homosexuality and
transgenders. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moving past this film onto the second film, A Soap, we find a more obvious contrast to the
environment set up in Boys Don t Cry. The main thing being there is no outright or violent hostility to
out transgender character. This film featured a male to female pre op transsexual Veronica. She can
basically walk around and talk to her neighbors wearing women s clothing and doesn t get any actual
hostility for it. The other main character Charlotte does occasionally poke fun with witty remarks but
it appears to be more in good fun than any actual disdain. The only time her language toward Veronica
becomes hostile is when she develops conflicting romantic feelings toward her and is drunk. But
essentially all other contact is cordial.
Same goes for familial interaction. The there is more of an air of disapproval in those conversations.
The mother does appear to still accept Veronica as her child for most of the movie. There is no
screaming match or violent undertones in their meeting. You can still tell the mother does have
resignations by still calling Veronica by her male name and by the fact that Veronica does not appear
to be wanted at family holidays like birthdays. Despite this she does still appear to care for her child
by visiting often and bringing gifts. And when she finds Charlotte in Veronica s home she does not
appear to condemn her presence but asks of her to watch over

What s Meant By Person Centred And Coordinated Care
I would like to start by defining what s meant by person centred and coordinated care. Person Centred
has various definitions yet not one that s universally accepted. Debra De Silva in her review for The
Health Foundation describes it as supporting people to make informed decisions about, and to
successfully manage, their own health and care, yet able to make informed decisions and choose when
to invite others to act on their behalf (2014, pg. 2). It essentially means that the care given places the
patient in control and everything else is built around that. Professor Don Berwick sums it up as the
experience of transparency, individualisation, recognition, respect, dignity, and choice in all matters,
without exception, related to one s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are many components of implementing person centred coordinated care but I ll highlight those I
feel are important. Firstly, evidence shows that there needs to be a fundamental understanding that
patient choice matters. According to Hartley and Benington (2010, pp. 2 5) there are greater
expectations from patients and communities for more personalised and flexible care. Research shows
that a patient s decision regarding treatment change when they re well informed and this can only
mean a better experience of care for a patient. For example, an international Cochrane Review that
included 11 trials involving major elective surgeries showed that demand declined by 20% after
patients became well informed (Mulley et al, 2012). This also leads to greater convenience for patients
and having the option to go where they like and when they like for care can only become a reality
when true integration and coordination is achieved within the healthcare system. This relies on
clinicians accepting that they don t know best when it comes to patient preferences and letting them
decide their own preferences for receiving care and the settings where to receive it. I was involved in a
service redesign for the phlebotomy service at Burton Hospitals NHS foundation trust where patients
wanted a service that operated earlier then the normal opening time of 9:00 am. I worked with the
patients and staff to find a solution where the service

Using Jargon Should Be Avoided Unless
When communicating with parents for example, the use of jargon should be avoided unless its
meaning is understood by all. Itâ€TMs not just technical language, any terms that could cause offence
through a lack of understanding should not be used. This comes back to social background discussed
in question 3. In a case where information has been requested by a parent but you cannot provide it
you should clarify exactly what they want then pass on the request to the appropriate person. An
understanding of school policies is required to ensure you know exactly what can and cannot be

A lot of the time, children and young people will resolve issues themselves without the intervention of
an adult. The key is to observe and know when to step in. You need to remain neutral and allow each
person to explain what happened in their own words and without being interrupted. Listening is vital
in managing disagreements successfully and the volume/tone of voices should be kept to an
acceptable level. Assertive discussion/negotiation is required from you to ensure both children are
happy with the outcome. If a child becomes overwhelmed by emotions they may act in an
inappropriate manner displaying rage or frustration. This is known as an emotional outburst. In this
case a child should be removed from the situation and taken into a quiet and accepting environment
where they have time to calm down. You should speak to the child in a reassuring manner and ask
them to explain what has happened. If they are unable to do so then simply talk about what upset them
suggesting what they could do in future if they experience similar feelings. Conflicts with adults are
more complex as they could involve children, parents or staff. That said, many of the principles for
managing these disagreements discussed above (for children/young people) still apply. No individual
involved in a conflict should be discriminated against. Dealing with issues in the privacy of a quiet
room is important in ensuring that all involved feel comfortable. In a case where an

Descriptive Essay On Soccer
For the past five years, I have worked as a soccer referee, and the experience has been very valuable. I
began refereeing at the age of twelve, primarily as a way to earn a little extra money to buy video
games. Initially, I started to referee recreational games for younger age groups at the local soccer park.
However, as my referee career began to blossom, I was invited to referee tournaments throughout
Georgia. Fast forward to today, I regularly travel to referee high level tournaments in Alabama,
Tennessee, Florida, and North Carolina. What had started simply as a part term job has grown into
something I plan to continue long into the future. Saying that I am a soccer referee does not always
come with the understanding that it should. Soccer is the number one sport around the world, and
many countries around the world worship their soccer teams as if it were a religion. The job of being a
referee is a pivotal part of the game. As a crew of four, we are the ones that lead the teams out of the
locker room. Subsequently, we are the first to step onto the field with the ball in our hands in front of
thousands of spectators. Afterwards, we are the people that begin the match. In a sold out stadium, we
can control the flow and management of the match. Unlike the players, we shun the spotlight, but
sometimes the game demands our intervention. For example, when it comes to protecting the players,
we are tasked with managing the players. In many cases brandishing a yellow or red card can destroy
a games livelihood, so instead we manage the players with our whistle tone, body language, and
verbal cues. By doing this, we are able to keep a match appealing. I think the skills and experience
gained as a referee has prepared me well for college. Pursuing a career as a referee is actually quite
similar to preparing for other professions. To be successful in a chosen field, one must be well trained
and determined. Before I could referee my first game, I had to learn what my responsibilities were as a
match official. Our responsibilities include enforcing the Laws of the Game, ensuring fair play,
maintaining player safety, and keeping the official time and score. Other responsibilities start with our

Early Marriage Of Girls Negatively Affects Health...
Early marriage:
Early marriage of girls negatively affects health wellbeing among young women. In Sub Saharan
Africa, spiritual appeasement is among key reasons attributed to early marriage. In fact, girls/young
women are usually sacrificed to the ancestral spirit world (Sithole, 2007). (40) Mbiti (1999) and
Bediako (1997) explain that in African faith practice, females are generally viewed as having a higher
connectivity to the spirit world than males. For this reason, female children are the preferred spiritual
sacrifices because of their biological ability to reproduce children that will promote generational
continuity to the ancestral spirits. This notion may explain why a girl child, and not a boy, is
traditionally the choice for appeasing the spirits. Whether the motive to encourage early marriage is
cultural or spiritual or anywhere in between, it remains a fact that the practice contributes to reduced
health status for women as their bodies are oftren not physiologically ready for childbearing leading to
complications at child birth. A report on child and early marriage showed that 38% of young women
were married before reaching the age of 18, which make them more likely to stop their education,
become more vulnerable to physical and sexual abuse, to death during pregnancy and delivery, to
delivering unhealthy children, and would most certainly remain caged in poverty. (41) All this chaos is
protected in Sudan by the Personal Status Muslim Act of 1991

Psychological Theories Of Behavioral Finance
Behavioural Finance
Introduction
Behavioural finance is a relatively new area of evolving research in finance. Behavioural finance seek
to combine behavioural and cognitive psychological theory with conventional economics and finance
to get a better understanding for why individual investors make irrational financial decisions.
According to Sewell (2007), Behavioural finance is the study of the influence of psychology on the
behaviour of financial practitioners and the subsequent effect on markets. The science focuses on the
effects of individual investors making decisions based on hunches or emotions.
Ritter (2003, p.429), describes behavioural finance is based on psychology which suggests that human
decision processes are subject to several cognitive illusions. These illusions are divided into two
groups as illusions caused by heuristic decision process and illusions rooted from the adoption of
mental frames grouped in the prospect theory (Waweru et al., 2008, p.27)
People may make predictable, non optimal choices when faced with difficult and uncertain decisions
because of heuristic simplification. Behavioral biases, abstractly, are defined in the same way as
systematic errors are, in judgment (Chen et al, 2007).
Behavioral finance theories, which are based on the psychology, attempt to understand how the
psychological variables (heuristics, prospect, and herding) and perceived risk behaviour (Risk
Perception, Risk attitude and Risk Propensity) influence individual

Movie Review Stigmata
Movie Review of Stigmata
I m not a big movie watcher, in fact when I watch a movie, I rarely finish it. However, there are just a
few that I ve got to see. These usually include comedy, but more often mystery. About two years ago I
saw a preview for the movie Stigmata. Before the previews I had never heard of stigmata, and even
after this didn t know what it was. My cousin explained what stigmata were to me, and then I wanted
to see the movie. Stigmata are defined as the plural of stigma; marks resembling the wounds of the
crucified body of Christ, said to be supernaturally impressed on the bodies of cetain persons,
especially nuns, tertiaries, and monastics (Ask.com), this making a stigmatic one who receives these

Probably nintey percent of the sites, that the search came up with, were useless, but by evaluating the
titles and descriptions, I avoided wasting time with sites that I knew would be any help. Unfortunatly,
there were some sites that I misinterpreted, nearly half of the ones I visited. There were many sites that
had the exact same information under different titles. There were even a few that were described as
stigmata defined, and were literaly the definition of stigmata but nothing more. When searching I used
two different searches occurences of stigmata, and stigmata. When I used occurences of stigmata the
majority of the sites had nothing at all to do with stigmata. Many of them were about other paranormal
activities. When I used stigmata in the search nearly nintey five percent of the sites were about the
movie Stigmata. It was a little frustrating having to sort through all the useless sites to find the
information that I could use.
What I learned: The first documented case of stigmata didn t surface until the thirteenth century, but it
is uncertain if stigmata is psychosmatic or if it is Divine Intervention, and the authenticity of many
cases of stigmata are questioned. Several different web sites state St. Francis of Assissi is know as the
first true case of stigmata (Stan Griffing, Workers for Jesus; Miracles vs. Forteana; Is Stigmata For

Essay On Igg4-Related Disease
IgG4 related disease (IgG4 RD) is a newly recognized, multiorgan, fibro inflammatory disease
characterized by mass forming lesion with dense lymphoplasmacytic infiltration with large numbers
of IgG4+ plasma cells, storiform fibrosis and sometimes obliterative phlebitis. IgG4 RD was first
described in 2001 by Japanese researchers in patients with autoimmune pancreatitis with high levels
of serum IgG.[1, 2]
IgG4 RD usually affects individuals of middle to old age, with an onset at 50 70 years, although few
paediatric cases have been described. Males are more commonly affected especially for IgG4 related
pancreatitis with an M:F ratio of 3:7. However, IgG4 related dacryoadenitis and sialadenitis may occur
more frequently among ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Enlargement of one or more of trigeminal nerve branches is another feature of IgG4 ROD. The most
commonly involved branches are the infraorbital nerve (ION) and the frontal nerve. Other nerves may
be involved such as perioptic nerves, paravertebral nerves and great auricular nerve. The disease
involves mainly the epineurium and the affected nerves are infilterated by masses of lymphocytes,
plasma cells, eosinophils and large numbers of IgG+ plasma cells.[20 23]
EOM enlargement is not rare in IgG4 ROD especially in cases with enlarged orbital nerves. Single or
multiple muscles may be involved during the disease course in the following order of frequency:
inferior rectus, followed by superior rectus levator complex, lateral rectus, medial rectus, inferior
oblique and superior oblique. Histopathologically, the muscle biopsy shows a mixed and dense
infiltration with polyclonal B and T cells with some fibrosis.[24, 25]
IgG4 ROD may also involve the lacrimal drainage apparatus.[26] Furthermore, sclera and
conjunctival affection and nongranulomatous anterior uveitis have also been reported. [27, 28]
There is a correlation between IgG4 RD and ocular adnexal xanthogranulomatous disease in which a

Quality Content Translation a Fast Emerging Profession in...
Building Reputation Through Quality Content
Content translation, being a fast emerging profession in the digital world today, is a career path that
most linguists would be interested to take on. Who else won t be enticed by its monetary and non
monetary benefits and promising career growth that can translate to a steady source of income and
professional fulfillment? A lot of these translation companies invest so much on their employees

Most translation companies have specific standards that translators need to adhere to. Standardization
helps define style, tone and terminologies that make up the quality of content. Ensuring that workers
subscribe to these standards will lead them to produce consistent results that contribute to reputation.
The authoring process directly aids in establishing the backbone of quality for any content translator.
As it is vital in this business to produce exceptional outputs, maintaining a consistent track record
helps build up reputation. Often, the challenge translators have is keeping results at a consistent level
that guarantees longevity. If a translator has survived more than ten years in the industry, and
consistently maneuvering obstacles and challenges that, in effect, produce top quality results, then he
is surely up for more years of lasting professional relations in the business. Clients will always favor
established and reputable translators.
Consequently, poor quality content may define a possible downgrade which could hamper career
growth and opportunity. How much work and effort a linguist put into his job will, in turn, reflect the
kind of quality he can produce. Poor content quality is directly proportional to the kind of reputation
he will get. It is seemingly impossible for any translator to maintain a status quo in his job. With an
increasing competition and a diverse and thriving market, demand for content translation is seen to

The Debate Of Banning The Death Penalty
Public Executions The United States has been going through the debate of banning the death penalty
for decades; however, it continues to remain at a standstill as crime rates continue to stay the same
throughout the country. The people for continuing the death penalty happens to see their group split in
to two groups. One for the private executions and the other for public. Public executions can do many
things like deter crimes from happening, giving the victims closure, and finding the right kind of
execution method that is inexpensive and once used throughout history. The ability to deter crimes
with the method of public execution is one we should not waste. It leaves everyone with the
knowledge that there is nothing to keep them from being the next one on the chopping block so to
speak, especially if they have committed such a crime to deserve the sentence. It takes removes this
mindset that the public has come to grasp that everything does not have a consequence for the actions
they take. The scare factor works brilliantly in this regard, holding the public to a line they know not
to cross. With the line drawn, the number of convicts in the prison system would decrease. This will
also free up taxpayers money for other things like education, medical, security, and paying off the
national debt. Secondly, this would bring closer to the families, as well as, friends and acquaintances
of the victim. This type of execution would give everyone the benefit of seeing

Examples Of Masculinity In Hip Hop
Secondly, gender is the key elements of cultural formation of hip hop. When focusing on this aspect,
there are obvious influences from African American hip hop to Asian hip hop. The fashion of the

and violence. Therefore, it can be presumed that these fashion establishes the symbol of bad authority

The Life Of Reason By George Santayana
Here s an experiment for you. Ask the next 10 people you meet about what comes to mind when they
think of the word disaster. I did, and you ll probably get answers similar to the ones that I received:
war, hurricane, earthquake, etc. Not a single person got anywhere close to housing crisis, and unless
you work at a mortgage lender or economic think tank, you re probably not going to get that answer
either. This is despite the fact that anybody on the receiving end of that question has probably not
experienced a severe earthquake or hurricane, yet has felt the impact of the 2008 housing bubble
simply by being a participant in the economy.
In The Life of Reason, novelist George Santayana wrote the now famous phrase, those who cannot
remember the past are condemned to repeat it. That holds true for housing crises, specifically the one
in 2008. Less than a decade after the world economy nearly collapsed, the vast majority of us still don
t understand what happened or why it happened. Some of us do know, but choose not to care. Both are
equally dangerous.
Housing crises are avoidable. They are borne out of lapses in judgment from three main groups:
lenders that do not make responsible lending decisions, buyers that do not make responsible buying
decisions, and governments that do not make responsible legislation to govern either of the former
parties. Each of them needs to be addressed in order to avoid repeating a sordid, destructive past.

How To Legalize Marijuana In Canada
Marijuana This is an issue that is concerning many Canadians today, as the newly elected government

this will create drug addicts, kill people if legalized or if it can benefit Canadas economy and the
people living here. My mind has changed on the topic of marijuana. I used to be strongly opposed to

A Small Nips And The Bloody Chamber
Luce Irigaray in Women on the Market, put forth the theory that our own culture, is based upon the
exchange of women and that women are relegated to three social roles. Those roles are mother, virgin,
prostitute (807,8). She then states that the enigmatic character of women comes from the form of the
needs /desires of man (806). We are mother or prostitute determinate on man s need. She also argued
that man s libido is another name for the abstraction of energy in a productive power (806). Men use
their libido to control nature. She then argues that another name for the subordination of the specific
qualities of bodies to a neutral power that aims above all to transform them, to possess them (806).
Men transform women to his need, hence the role of mother or prostitute, and thus possess them. In
Frida Kahlo s painting, A Few Small Nips and in Angela Carter s shorty story The Bloody Chamber,
both share the theme of death as transformation for man to possess the main characters.
In Frida Kahlo s painting, A Few Small Nips, a woman lies mostly naked on white sheets. She has on
one high heeled shoe, and a rumpled sock. She has been sliced and poked by the knife that the man
standing above her is holding. The sheets are covered in blood, her body is covered in blood, and the
floor is covered in the blood. The woman is clearly dead, and the man standing above her is relaxed,
pleased, with his left hand resting comfortably in his pocket. The expression on the man s

My Vision At Centipede Soccer
Overview
My vision this summer came alive with the help of the Kokomo YMCA, when I was granted the
opportunity to coach Centipede Soccer. Centipede Soccer is the perfect introduction to the game of
soccer for children of the ages 3 5. The mission of this program is that the children will learn the
fundamentals of the game in a non competitive atmosphere, while working on motor skills,
coordination and listening skills. The benefits of the Y s youth sports programs for the little ones are
big both on and off the field. My role as the coach was to find fun ways to make this a great first time
soccer experience for all the children by showcasing the different skills and objectives of the game but
also advocating new skills to maintain a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My first and probably most important duty as a coach to this younger age group was to make all
activities fun and easy to understand, but to also think about safety and the well being of all my
players. Because this was many of the team s first soccer experience, going over the proper equipment
was key to do to ensure they were all protected with the right shoes and shin guards. While watching
the first few practices and games, it was becoming clear to see which areas needed the most amount of
work on and picking up on these things are vital to plan creative drills that will improve each skill. All
of my hard work with planning the lessons for the day to creating a positive environment for the
children to learn and thrive follows right along with the mission of Centipede Soccer by instilling the
importance of teamwork.

Within this Sport and Fitness Internship, it was my agreement to coach a minimum of 40 hours at
Darrough Chapel Park through a partnership with the Kokomo YMCA s Soccer Program. This
permitted me the chance to put all my knowledge and skills to the test, whether it was being recalled
from my soccer experience growing up or getting the first hand feel of how to apply what I have
learned from my courses at IU Kokomo University in the past semesters. Regardless of which method
gave me better insight on coaching, this internship has become a stepping stone in showcasing my
efforts don t go unnoticed and that I am going to do great things

Nothing feels quite like waking up refreshed and ready to tackle the day ahead of you. However, while
we all know how important sleep is, many of us still struggle to fall asleep at night. Moreover, I am
willing to wager that many of us also always seem to wake up fatigued, no matter how long we have
slept. If you have trouble sleeping it is possible that you may have one of several common sleeping
disorders.
The following guide is here to help you identify why you are struggling to get the satisfactory sleep
you need (and deserve).

Insanity in A Rose for Emily Essay
The author, William Faulkner, has a collection of books, short stories, and poems under his name.
Through his vast collection of works, Faulkner attempts to discuss and bring awareness to numerous
aspects of life. More often than not, his works were created to reflect aspects of life found within the
south. Family dynamics, race, gender, social class, war, incest, racism, suicide, necrophilia, and
mental illness are just some of the aspects that Faulkner explored. In A Rose for Emily the aspects of
necrophilia and mental illness along with the societal biases that were observed in a small town setting
are seen to be a part of this captivating story. These aspects ultimately intertwine with the idea of
insanity that characterizes A Rose ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also during that time period a common treatment for such disorders included a procedure known as
trephining. This procedure included chipping a hole into the skull of the afflicted person. This
procedure has endured through time and is still used today in a more refined way to treat medical
problems like migraines and skull fractures. When dealing with mental afflictions, Ancient Egyptians
recommended modern methods like engaging in recreational activities like dancing, and painting. In
the past it has also been common to lock up in jails or dungeons individuals who were mentally ill and
who acted out. In the 17th century drugs like laudanum, unguents, opium grains were used as
sedatives to ease the torment that mentally ill individuals would endure. At certain points in time, the
mentally ill were housed in monasteries up until asylums were created and used to hold these
individuals.
A person s insanity can often lead to them being judged and looked down upon by society because
they can t understand that their actions are not accepted in society. This statement is true in relation to
the story, A Rose for Emily , in the story it is seen how the townspeople speculate about the
strangeness of Emily and her family. The story is narrated by several generations of men and women
from the town and unlike other stories, the chronology is all over the

The Importance Of Voting Rights In The United States
What can be done to assure that United States (U.S.) citizens do not lose voting rights, but regain
rights that have been lost? First, we have to look at the bigger picture of the whole world; then look at
history; and then at ourselves. Over time, we have been through absolute monarchy, dictatorship, and
slavery which were once legal in our United States (U.S.) government once upon a time. Today, these
positions and institutions do not exist. Now, in today s government of the U.S. we have come a long
way to make things exceptional among ourselves. Voting rights have helped a lot because they have
given all of United States (U.S.) citizens a voice, whether positive or negative. So can you consider

Creationism
Bobby Rappach 11 1 12 Mr. Boyle Creationism The concept of Creationism has been around since a
monotheistic Abrahamic God. It is nothing more than a literal interpretation of the creation story of
Genesis as a basis for the creation of everything in the universe. Until the early 1500 s it was the
common belief that the world was flat and this is one the only exceptions that creationist sects have

In geology, instead of the Earth s rock layers forming over millions of years they believe that Noah s
Great Flood brought upon the shape of mountains and diverse amounts of hills, valleys, plateaus etc.
One of the greatest controversies when it comes to creationists is the idea of dinosaurs and humans.
Today the average person could tell you that dinosaurs were around before humans, but not
creationists. They believe that along with other animals, dinosaurs were brought on Noah s Ark and
died out due to rapid climate change. Since dinosaurs were not mentioned in the bible, they were

Essay on Measuring Organizational Safety Culture

norms an organization has regarding safety , Terry Miller, National Safety Council. Most safety

One must caution reliance solely on lagging indicators such as injury and illness data as they are after
the fact measurements focusing on past performance. Lagging indicators may tell you where incidents
have occurred in the past but they will not tell you where incidents are likely to occur in the future. A
second safety indicator often used to gauge organizational safety culture is near miss reporting. Near
miss reporting is categorized as an unplanned event not resulting in an undesirable consequence,
however; having the potential to do so. Recognizing and reporting near miss incidents can have a
positive impact on organizational safety performance. Near miss reporting not only provides valuable
information to prevent future incidents it also provides an excellent opportunity for employees to
actively participate in an organizations safety system. Near miss reporting also increases
communication between management and hourly personnel creating a culture of teamwork leading to
a safer work environment. Another leading safety indicator often used to gauge safety culture is
behavioral safety observations. An integral component of most behavioral safety programs the number
of field observations and percent of at risk behavior of a particular target will often be tracked. Safety

The Theory Of Free Market Economics
When I came back to Oregon after spending four years in the Marine Corps, I quickly became
interested in politics. In 2013 I was introduced to the concepts of free market economics, a system
where the consumer decides the prices of goods or services without the intervention of the government
or any other authority. In Sandel s Justice I found that his writing on libertarianism to be somewhat
confusing and written with an agenda. Sandel quotes Nozick saying, only a minimal state, limited to
enforcing contracts and protecting people against force, theft and fraud is justified. I believe Sandel
uses this as an attempt to explain the Non aggression principle, without actually explaining anything
in depth. The non aggression principle the NAP is easily the most important aspect of having a free
market. The number one misconception that people have about libertarian beliefs and the free market
is that with deregulation comes anarchy (a perpetual state of chaos, without rules.) The non aggression
principle is the key component that makes libertarianism work. A free market if followed offers a
maximization of economic and monetary security if the NAP; it leads to complete non interventionist
economy. The best way to maximize peace is to remove any justification for dynamic, aggressive
force (i.e. Institutions of the state) the concepts of government welfare programs can be taken over by
the moral obligation to help your fellow man. Historically the state breeds war, in

While reading the title, we already get to know that the main plot will be about some kind of a tragic
love.
First of all, the poem deals with the comparison of different kind of feelings. Love and death are
incredibly close to each other in this poem, actually they complement each other. Love is like a great
power, which can destruct everything, defencelessness is the main goal of this feeling. Beauty is just
an illusion, and all illusions are just nightmares. The ballad shows, that nothing is certain, permanent,
love can disappear in a second. Moreover, destruction and creation are really close to each other. In a
nutshell, we can see that love and death are the two main feelings, which are linked to each other in
every period of life. Secondly, the atmosphere, the places are also very significant in the poem. The
setting of the poem is like a medieval tale with fairies, knights and unrealistic places. Obviously, the
ballad starts with autumn like pictures, there are no birds, which are the symbols of the lack of love.
The nature is not the symbol of life in the first and second stanzas, it is the symbol of death. The
knight, the main character, who should be a strong, brave man, is now wandering aimlessly, he is pale,
he has a fever, which can be the sign of sickness, death. Because of the fact that it is autumn, it is not
surprising, that even the lively characters are colourless,

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Qfd
2.3 Quality Function Deployment (QFD) Quality function deployment (QFD) is originally developed
by Dr. Yoji Akao in Japan in 1966. It had been implemented by Dr. S. Mizuno. QFD is a method to
transform requirements of customers to products design. The purpose of QFD is to investigate the
most important elements to develop product that closely meet the needs of customers. According to
Akao (1990), QFD is one of the technique to ensure the design quality while the product is still in the
design stage. There are several benefits for using QFD. One of the benefits of QFD is customer
driven. This help the companies to focus on the voice of the customers. Besides, QFD allows the
companies to analyze the competitors products and services in the market place. Another benefit is

College of Engineering and Textile Technology, Serampore, Hooghly, West Bengal, PIN 712201. India. E Mail: cmanjari@gmail.com Abstract Coastal areas provide livelihood facilities to many and also offer vast recreational and economic activities, and yet, at the same time, such eco regions require to be managed with special emphasis and consideration of its natural and cultural resources. Land cover classification of such diverse sea land regions requires a high level of effort and plays a vital role for the analysis of time based or event based change on certain areas. For effective utilization of remote sensed images obtained from Earth orbiting satellites, a lot of image classification methods are available in literature. In this paper, we use the method of unsupervised classification for the users convenience and flexibility, low computational requirements and moderate classification accuracy. The objectives of the paper is to classify the land cover by mapping the region into W S V (Water, Soil, Vegetation) components using the unsupervised K means algorithm, to obtain land use/cover gray scale image combining the W S V components and thereby finally deriving the related performance metrics such as histogram and land cover correlation. I wasn t really surprised with how these students were addicted to caffeine the way they are. • 5. For This Film Analysis, I Viewed Two Movies. The Films For this film analysis, I viewed two movies. The films viewed were Boys Don t Cry and A Soap. The movies viewed had the common theme of sexuality. The 2 films both had themes regarding sexuality and trangenderism. With that my thesis is, Sexuality and its affects and reactions in regards to interpersonal and familial relationships. To begin we start we the film that was viewed first, Boys Don t Cry. Boys Don t Cry offers an insight to the impressions of sexuality and transgenderism in the 1990 s. Five minutes into the film it shows Brandon Teena being chased by a mob of angry guys calling him a dyke (for him having slept with one of the men s sisters ). That already shows there is hostility towards homosexuality and transgenders. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Moving past this film onto the second film, A Soap, we find a more obvious contrast to the environment set up in Boys Don t Cry. The main thing being there is no outright or violent hostility to out transgender character. This film featured a male to female pre op transsexual Veronica. She can basically walk around and talk to her neighbors wearing women s clothing and doesn t get any actual hostility for it. The other main character Charlotte does occasionally poke fun with witty remarks but it appears to be more in good fun than any actual disdain. The only time her language toward Veronica becomes hostile is when she develops conflicting romantic feelings toward her and is drunk. But essentially all other contact is cordial. Same goes for familial interaction. The there is more of an air of disapproval in those conversations. The mother does appear to still accept Veronica as her child for most of the movie. There is no screaming match or violent undertones in their meeting. You can still tell the mother does have resignations by still calling Veronica by her male name and by the fact that Veronica does not appear to be wanted at family holidays like birthdays. Despite this she does still appear to care for her child by visiting often and bringing gifts. And when she finds Charlotte in Veronica s home she does not appear to condemn her presence but asks of her to watch over ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. What s Meant By Person Centred And Coordinated Care I would like to start by defining what s meant by person centred and coordinated care. Person Centred has various definitions yet not one that s universally accepted. Debra De Silva in her review for The Health Foundation describes it as supporting people to make informed decisions about, and to successfully manage, their own health and care, yet able to make informed decisions and choose when to invite others to act on their behalf (2014, pg. 2). It essentially means that the care given places the patient in control and everything else is built around that. Professor Don Berwick sums it up as the experience of transparency, individualisation, recognition, respect, dignity, and choice in all matters, without exception, related to one s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are many components of implementing person centred coordinated care but I ll highlight those I feel are important. Firstly, evidence shows that there needs to be a fundamental understanding that patient choice matters. According to Hartley and Benington (2010, pp. 2 5) there are greater expectations from patients and communities for more personalised and flexible care. Research shows that a patient s decision regarding treatment change when they re well informed and this can only mean a better experience of care for a patient. For example, an international Cochrane Review that included 11 trials involving major elective surgeries showed that demand declined by 20% after patients became well informed (Mulley et al, 2012). This also leads to greater convenience for patients and having the option to go where they like and when they like for care can only become a reality when true integration and coordination is achieved within the healthcare system. This relies on clinicians accepting that they don t know best when it comes to patient preferences and letting them decide their own preferences for receiving care and the settings where to receive it. I was involved in a service redesign for the phlebotomy service at Burton Hospitals NHS foundation trust where patients wanted a service that operated earlier then the normal opening time of 9:00 am. Itâ€TMs not just technical language, any terms that could cause offence through a lack of understanding should not be used. This comes back to social background discussed in question 3. In a case where information has been requested by a parent but you cannot provide it you should clarify exactly what they want then pass on the request to the appropriate person. A lot of the time, children and young people will resolve issues themselves without the intervention of an adult. The key is to observe and know when to step in. You need to remain neutral and allow each person to explain what happened in their own words and without being interrupted. Listening is vital in managing disagreements successfully and the volume/tone of voices should be kept to an acceptable level. Assertive discussion/negotiation is required from you to ensure both children are happy with the outcome. If a child becomes overwhelmed by emotions they may act in an inappropriate manner displaying rage or frustration. This is known as an emotional outburst. In this case a child should be removed from the situation and taken into a quiet and accepting environment where they have time to calm down. You should speak to the child in a reassuring manner and ask them to explain what has happened. If they are unable to do so then simply talk about what upset them suggesting what they could do in future if they experience similar feelings. Conflicts with adults are more complex as they could involve children, parents or staff. That said, many of the principles for managing these disagreements discussed above (for children/young people) still apply. No individual involved in a conflict should be discriminated against. Dealing with issues in the privacy of a quiet room is important in ensuring that all involved feel comfortable. In a case where an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Descriptive Essay On Soccer For the past five years, I have worked as a soccer referee, and the experience has been very valuable. I began refereeing at the age of twelve, primarily as a way to earn a little extra money to buy video games. Initially, I started to referee recreational games for younger age groups at the local soccer park. However, as my referee career began to blossom, I was invited to referee tournaments throughout Georgia. Fast forward to today, I regularly travel to referee high level tournaments in Alabama, Tennessee, Florida, and North Carolina. What had started simply as a part term job has grown into something I plan to continue long into the future. Saying that I am a soccer referee does not always come with the understanding that it should. Soccer is the number one sport around the world, and many countries around the world worship their soccer teams as if it were a religion. The job of being a referee is a pivotal part of the game. As a crew of four, we are the ones that lead the teams out of the locker room. Subsequently, we are the first to step onto the field with the ball in our hands in front of thousands of spectators. Afterwards, we are the people that begin the match. In a sold out stadium, we can control the flow and management of the match. Unlike the players, we shun the spotlight, but sometimes the game demands our intervention. For example, when it comes to protecting the players, we are tasked with managing the players. In many cases brandishing a yellow or red card can destroy a games livelihood, so instead we manage the players with our whistle tone, body language, and verbal cues. By doing this, we are able to keep a match appealing. I think the skills and experience gained as a referee has prepared me well for college. Pursuing a career as a referee is actually quite similar to preparing for other professions. To be successful in a chosen field, one must be well trained and determined. Before I could referee my first game, I had to learn what my responsibilities were as a match official. Our responsibilities include enforcing the Laws of the Game, ensuring fair play, maintaining player safety, and keeping the official time and score. Other responsibilities start with our pregame ... • 9. Early Marriage Of Girls Negatively Affects Health... Early marriage: Early marriage of girls negatively affects health wellbeing among young women. In Sub Saharan Africa, spiritual appeasement is among key reasons attributed to early marriage. In fact, girls/young women are usually sacrificed to the ancestral spirit world (Sithole, 2007). (40) Mbiti (1999) and Bediako (1997) explain that in African faith practice, females are generally viewed as having a higher connectivity to the spirit world than males. For this reason, female children are the preferred spiritual sacrifices because of their biological ability to reproduce children that will promote generational continuity to the ancestral spirits. This notion may explain why a girl child, and not a boy, is traditionally the choice for appeasing the spirits. Whether the motive to encourage early marriage is cultural or spiritual or anywhere in between, it remains a fact that the practice contributes to reduced health status for women as their bodies are oftren not physiologically ready for childbearing leading to complications at child birth. A report on child and early marriage showed that 38% of young women were married before reaching the age of 18, which make them more likely to stop their education, become more vulnerable to physical and sexual abuse, to death during pregnancy and delivery, to delivering unhealthy children, and would most certainly remain caged in poverty. • 11. Psychological Theories Of Behavioral Finance Behavioural Finance Introduction Behavioural finance is a relatively new area of evolving research in finance. Behavioural finance seek to combine behavioural and cognitive psychological theory with conventional economics and finance to get a better understanding for why individual investors make irrational financial decisions. According to Sewell (2007), Behavioural finance is the study of the influence of psychology on the behaviour of financial practitioners and the subsequent effect on markets. The science focuses on the effects of individual investors making decisions based on hunches or emotions. Ritter (2003, p.429), describes behavioural finance is based on psychology which suggests that human decision processes are subject to several cognitive illusions. These illusions are divided into two groups as illusions caused by heuristic decision process and illusions rooted from the adoption of mental frames grouped in the prospect theory (Waweru et al., 2008, p.27) People may make predictable, non optimal choices when faced with difficult and uncertain decisions because of heuristic simplification. Behavioral biases, abstractly, are defined in the same way as systematic errors are, in judgment (Chen et al, 2007). Essay On Igg4-Related Disease IgG4 related disease (IgG4 RD) is a newly recognized, multiorgan, fibro inflammatory disease characterized by mass forming lesion with dense lymphoplasmacytic infiltration with large numbers of IgG4+ plasma cells, storiform fibrosis and sometimes obliterative phlebitis. IgG4 RD was first described in 2001 by Japanese researchers in patients with autoimmune pancreatitis with high levels of serum IgG.[1, 2] IgG4 RD usually affects individuals of middle to old age, with an onset at 50 70 years, although few paediatric cases have been described. Single or multiple muscles may be involved during the disease course in the following order of frequency: inferior rectus, followed by superior rectus levator complex, lateral rectus, medial rectus, inferior oblique and superior oblique. Histopathologically, the muscle biopsy shows a mixed and dense infiltration with polyclonal B and T cells with some fibrosis.[24, 25] IgG4 ROD may also involve the lacrimal drainage apparatus.[26] Furthermore, sclera and conjunctival affection and nongranulomatous anterior uveitis have also been reported. The Debate Of Banning The Death Penalty Public Executions The United States has been going through the debate of banning the death penalty for decades; however, it continues to remain at a standstill as crime rates continue to stay the same throughout the country. The people for continuing the death penalty happens to see their group split in to two groups. One for the private executions and the other for public. Public executions can do many things like deter crimes from happening, giving the victims closure, and finding the right kind of execution method that is inexpensive and once used throughout history. The ability to deter crimes with the method of public execution is one we should not waste. It leaves everyone with the knowledge that there is nothing to keep them from being the next one on the chopping block so to speak, especially if they have committed such a crime to deserve the sentence. It takes removes this mindset that the public has come to grasp that everything does not have a consequence for the actions they take. The scare factor works brilliantly in this regard, holding the public to a line they know not to cross. With the line drawn, the number of convicts in the prison system would decrease. I did, and you ll probably get answers similar to the ones that I received: war, hurricane, earthquake, etc. Not a single person got anywhere close to housing crisis, and unless you work at a mortgage lender or economic think tank, you re probably not going to get that answer either. This is despite the fact that anybody on the receiving end of that question has probably not experienced a severe earthquake or hurricane, yet has felt the impact of the 2008 housing bubble simply by being a participant in the economy. In The Life of Reason, novelist George Santayana wrote the now famous phrase, those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it. That holds true for housing crises, specifically the one in 2008. Less than a decade after the world economy nearly collapsed, the vast majority of us still don t understand what happened or why it happened. Some of us do know, but choose not to care. Both are equally dangerous. Housing crises are avoidable. They are borne out of lapses in judgment from three main groups: lenders that do not make responsible lending decisions, buyers that do not make responsible buying decisions, and governments that do not make responsible legislation to govern either of the former parties. Each of them needs to be addressed in order to avoid repeating a sordid, destructive past. BANKS: MANAGE RISK Lenders, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In 2013 I was introduced to the concepts of free market economics, a system where the consumer decides the prices of goods or services without the intervention of the government or any other authority. In Sandel s Justice I found that his writing on libertarianism to be somewhat confusing and written with an agenda. Sandel quotes Nozick saying, only a minimal state, limited to enforcing contracts and protecting people against force, theft and fraud is justified. I believe Sandel uses this as an attempt to explain the Non aggression principle, without actually explaining anything in depth. The non aggression principle the NAP is easily the most important aspect of having a free market. The number one misconception that people have about libertarian beliefs and the free market is that with deregulation comes anarchy (a perpetual state of chaos, without rules.)
