The Importance Of Post Clinical Trial Results In The...
Background Information
From 21 July 2014 it became compulsory to post clinical trial results in the European Clinical Trials
Database (EudraCT) which is managed by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and it is essential
for clinical study information to be made more reachable and accessible. By saying Clinical Trial the
agencies are referring to any trials on new drugs that are in preparation for a regulatory submission,
drugs, devices or procedures on any medical interventions and any other investigations that involves
of participants for research purposes, for example psychology studies. All of these clinical trials may
generate numerous amounts of result or data. Traditionally only a few results were published in
journals and they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This also avoids excessive research and expands the accessible evidence on an intervention.
Four sets of information are needed:
Whether the trial has actually happened, which means it is necessary for the trial to be registered.
Information such as the study protocol, analysis plan and possible completion date of the trial could be
registered before the trial starts. This means the final result could be checked against the protocol and
would be easier to find out about any non published trials.
Summary of the method and results brief summary and result for every trial that was conducted.
Clinical Study Reports (CSR) to see whether there were any amendments to the protocol during the
course of the trial, which could mean that somebody has noticed something in the result and they want
to change the analysis in a way that is more flattering. Often information on adverse events is very
incompletely reported in journal articles but much more completed in CSR.
Clinical Study Report (CSR) is a lengthy and comprehensive document that gives information in
regards with the methods and results of a clinical trial. This document is submitted to regulatory by a
company who is looking for approval to market a novel drug . It is a source that addresses efficacy and
safety.

The Importance Of Gadils
The use of collagen, alginate, and chitin fibers have increased in medical and surgical applications due
to the promotion of healing (Pillai, Paul, Sharma, 2009). When alginate fibers are used for wound
contact layers, the reaction between the alginate and the exuding wound forms a sodium calcium
alginate gel (Horrocks Anand). The gel is hydrophilic in nature, permeable to oxygen, and
impermeable to bacteria, and make a contribution to the creation of new tissue (Horrocks Anand).

Compression bandages are designed to exert a required amount of compression on the leg when
applied at a constant tension. They are used for the treatment and prevention of deep vein thrombosis,
leg ulceration (Partsch et al., 2008) . They are made of woven and contain cotton and elastomeric fiber
yarns or warp and weft knitted in both tubular and fully fashioned form (Partsch et al., 2008). Another
kind of bandages is called Orthopedic cushion bandages, mainly used under plaster casts and
compression bandages to provide padding, comfort (Rigby et al., 1997b). Nonwoven orthopedic

blend of natural and synthetic fibers (Rigby et al., 1997b).

How Did Fordham University Changed My Life
This will be a bit unpolished.
I would just like to say Fordham University has absolutely changed my life and has impacted me and
my story in my life thus far.
To explain, I was one of many students internationally who applied to the School of the New York
Times last spring. I got the notice a few weeks later and was eventually accepted into the program. I
come from a low income family here in Southeast/Rainier Beach, Seattle, Washington, yet regardless
of where I come from my community has always been there to support me through thick and thin, and
has not given up on me when I needed them the most.
The issue that arose from my acceptance letter was the staggering amount of money it was to be a part
of the program. The School of the New York Times gave me three months of time to accumulate $4.5
thousand dollars to have been admitted officially, and although I doubted myself and my ability, I told
myself I believe and can do it if I put my mind to it. Consequently, I made a gofundme.com page and
started working. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

needed in a weeks time. for twelve hours, I knocked on doors, spread the word about my page, posted

word of mouth had spread so much all over Seattle, that my gofundme.com page had gone viral and
had raised $4.6 thousand dollars in 72 hours or less. My community didn t let me down, and they

Stereotypes In Sticks And Stones
Throughout Sticks and Stones, Bazelon presents the readers with evidence to break through bullying
stereotypes. In order to clarify the situations that occur with bullying, Bazelon chooses to provide the
readers with facts to determine what stereotypes are true and which ones are deceiving. In Sticks and
Stones, we see how Aaron bullied Jacob, because Jacob was gay. However, bullies target others for
different reasons, but kids like Aaron are the ones who are called bully victims in the psych
literature...sometimes they lash out because they re frustrated over how they re being treated (Bazelon
71). Bullies are always viewed as the bad or mean kids in stereotypes, but what we do not always
realize is that the bully could be suffering in some way too. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

It could also be a cry for help or attention. In Monique s chapter, Bazelon explains that kids who bully,
by contrast, have more varied profiles. This is one reason why bullying is such a stubborn problem for
schools: the perpetrators aren t a monolithic group (Bazelon 30). Through this information, Bazelon
demonstrates how so many of these stereotypes are deceiving, and we need to think more about the
other factors that come to play with these stereotypes. When it comes to bullies, most people tend to
think it is always the popular kids or the school s mean girls , however the bullies may not always be
those kids. As Monique shared in her story, even her friends turned on her and began to join in on the
tormenting against her. This clarifies that a bully is not always the popular kids, yet sometimes it can
be. There are several different types of bullies and they all lash out at others for different reasons.
Since Bazelon expressed these facts in her book, it resulted in the readers taking a new approach to
how they might normally classify or view a

Liberalism And Human Rights Essay
within the confinements of liberalism and with respect to traditional human rights, however, the
central governments have managed to bypass the creed of liberalism and human rights. 2) Redrawing
the boundaries, or reducing the powers, of internal political subunits controlled by the national
minority; decisions on the boundaries and powers of internal political subunits. Some liberal
democratic states engaged in redrawing boundaries which are within the confinement of liberalism
and the liberal state, but encroaches the rights of national minorities. The central states draw
boundaries to disempower national minorities. For instance, a minority s territory are divided into
several units to make cohesive political action impossible. For example, the division of France into 83
departments after the Revolution, which intentionally subdivided the historical regions of the Basques,
Bretons, and other linguistic minorities; or the division of Catalonia region in Spain. 3) Language
policies; decisions on official languages. In many liberal democratic states, the majority language is
adopted as official or de facto official language where it is used in government, bureaucracy, courts,
schools, and business. While there are exceptions to this many liberal democratic states allow for
multilingualism yet the policies related to language should be more robustly clarified within the
human rights creed of democratic liberalism. Because the human rights creed adopted by several

Descriptive Essay About Miracle Camp
According to an expert, A lot of parents pack up their troubles and send them off to summer camp.
Maybe that is what my parents were thinking? I was at Miracle Camp in Lawton, Michigan in June of
2015. Miracle Camp in a Christian camp for anyone who wants to deepen their love and
understanding of the Lord. You can accomplish all of this while having the most fun you have ever
had! I went with a few of my really good friends so I got to grow closer to the Lord with some friends.
There are a lot of things that you can do at Miracle Camp during your 2 hours of free time. I will try
and name the different activities, that you can do at Miracle Camp. You can go to the lakefront, and at
the lakefront you can go tubing, blobbing, be on a water trampoline, boating, or you can just hang out
in the water! If you are not quite the water fanatic then there are many other possibilities for you. On
the main campus, you can go to the craft shack, the coffee stand, play frisbee golf, or go to the gym
and play glow in the dark Dodgeball! Miracle Camp even has something for the adventurous side of
everyone. You can walk to the Back 40 (which is the 4 acres of woods in the back of the campus). In
the Back 40 there are lots of things to do, but you can only be in Junior High for these activities. Some
of which include, rock wall climbing, ziplining, archery, and learning how to start a fire, weave vines
into nets, etc. The normal schedule at Miracle camp for junior high is, get up around

Essay on A Study of Perspectives
A Study of Perspectives
Livingston s documentary Paris is Burning inspired an awareness of being that I had not previously
experienced. The film urges the spectator to reevaluate not only one s breadth of knowledge of the
black gay culture in the 80 s, but also the perspectives from which one views the film. Personally
speaking, the easiest evaluation of the latter topic would be the perspective of a privileged white
straight female born into a sheltered and socially traditional household. This background would thus
color my reaction to the film: one of intense sadness for the featured interviewees who yearned for an
existence which was mostly unobtainable except in the case of extreme sacrifice and typically led to
social ostracizing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This new found perspective, achieved during class discussions and readings, was the finale of the
topic for me until I checked my mailbox after class the following day.
In my mailbox was an honor code abstract detailing a case brought before the council in previous
months. My first thought when carrying the abstract home with me was curiosity at what felt and
looked to be a massive case summery of around 30 pages. I settled down to read it. The case abstract
dealt with an occurrence two semesters ago during a Halloween dance on Bryn Mawr s campus. Two
Haverford male students attended the Hallween party at Rhoads dressed as two specific female Black
popstars. They had painted themselves brown and attached prosthetic breasts and buttocks to their
bodies. (The Muppets abstract, pg. 1) The case abstract is incredibly detailed in documenting all
parties statements and reactions.
After the Halloween party where they wore their costumes the entire night the two males felt
necessary to write an explanation to the community after hearing some rumblings about their costume
from friends and strangers alike. They explained that they had no intention on offending anyone in the
community, but had simply chosen the costumes because of its ridiculous nature. The abstract
explains, [Bert said] they saw white plastic breasts and considered dressing as topless women. Then
they saw the black breasts and butts and decided

Lord Of The Flies And The Destructors
I am most interested with the characters in The Destructors written by a British author Graham
Greene. It focuses on a gang of adolescent boys who decide to destroy an old man s house. The
behaviors of these boys remind me of a book I read, Lord of The Flies by William Goldings, it tells
the story of a group of British school boys who are attacked on an airplane during World War II and
they crash on a deserted island. The two stories happen during and after World War II, the extreme
violence and injustice of the war has overwhelmed people at that time, horrific incidents such as the
holocaust have left people questions about religions, authorities and human nature. The Destructors
responses to these questions by suggesting

Definition Of Poverty
There are a number of definitions of poverty. It is a multifaceted notion which includes social,
economic, and political components. How we define poverty is critical to politics, policy and
academic debates about the concept. It is bound up with explanations and has implications for
solutions. (Lister, 2004 as cited in Class notes, 2017). The United Nations, first established in 1945
shortly after the second world war, was created to promote international co operation and maintain
international order (UN, 2017). The global term for poverty is defined by using the Gross National
Product (GNP) and Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Both defined by the World Bank, GNP uses
market valuations to measure national income: GNP per capita (each person) gives an indication of the
typical material living standards of a nation, whereas, GDP is a measure of the total market value of
goods and services output and their economic activity. The United Nations set the bar at the minimum
daily income of $1.25 (93 pence) per day (Class notes, 2017). If you are living on less than this you
are classed as living in absolute poverty. How poverty is measured is a contested concept and has had
researchers long trying to establish a fixed method of determining. The four main concepts are
absolute poverty, relative poverty and deprivation, consensual poverty, and social exclusion (Class
notes, 2017). The concept of absolute poverty was developed in the 19th century by Joseph Rowntree
and was

Undecidability in Becket s The Endgame
This paper aims to study postmodern element of undecidability in Samuel Becket s Endgame. As
Butler and Davis holds, What is different about Becket is not that he provokes a critical response ...
but the protean, open ended, undecidable and inexhaustible quality of the challenge he offers (168).
Endgame like Becket s other plays is in a way that, as Wittgenstein notes, is nothing more than
language play between characters and although there are some minor actions there are not in such a
way to affect the play, moreover it is their vague utterances that make the play undecidable for the
reader to make out what is happening. Andrew Bennett and Nicholas Royle in their An Introduction to
Literature, Criticism and Theory explain the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So it can not be decided that the play is taking place whether in a physical world that is like a refuge
for characters or as it is mentioned Endgame may be an image for the dissociation of a human
consciousness and dying of mind in a mental setting (56). Nell?s living is also in question. During the
play Hamm asks Clov to check on Nagg and Nell. Clov returns and says that it appears as if Nell is
dead, whereas Nagg is merely crying in his bin. Becket creates doubts in the reader?s minds, they ask
this question from themselves that, what happened for Nell and is she really dead or not? The other
considerable undecided point is about Clov?s leaving. Throughout the play, he many times tells Hamm
that, ?I?ll leave you, I have thing to do? (Endgame 10) But the reader can not be sure about his leaving
when comes to this dialogue: Clov: So you all want me to leave you. Hamm: Naturally. Clov: Then I?
ll leave you. Hamm: You can?t leave us. Clov: Then I won?t leave you. (2669) In this way, with these
indications, the reader remain doubtful that whether he is leaving Hamm or not, even at the end of the
play, though he dressed and ready to go, he has not yet left (116). At the end it can be concluded that,
Samuel Becket?s Endgame with all these ambiguous and indistinct issues, such as title of

Was Bo Jackson A Hero
Bo Jackson is an epic hero who has taught us so much about being hero. We have heard so many
legends of Bo Jackson how he dunked a stick in a basketball hoop or how he leaped over a 40ff ditch.
Bo played two sports baseball and football, people have always said he needed to choose but he
couldn t make that decision, he went on and played baseball and football professionally. Bo was
always the kid who got bullied, he grew up in Bessemer Alabama his mother raised ten kids on her

bullied by kids but he would also fight kids and get in trouble, Bo Brooke windows with apples

the best player on the football team, he was the strongest and fastest. Bo Jackson started from nothing

Queensland s Jury System
Juries are an essential component of Queensland s criminal justice system. However, the current jury
system in criminal law cases does not effectively meet the needs of society. This thesis is established
by first examining the role that juries play in the criminal justice system and the various interests of
those affected by juries. This is followed by a consideration of arguments for and against juries and
reforms that may be made to the jury system. Overall, it will be seen that there are substantial reasons
to reform the current system.
In considering the effectiveness of the jury system, it is first necessary to understand the roles of
juries. Primarily, a jury is a body of legally unqualified citizens who agree on a verdict based on
evidence ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The jury represents the voice of the people, regardless, juries are ethnically un diverse, consist heavily
of certain age groups and members of certain socioeconomic statuses. To ensure better
representativeness, two specific reforms can be implemented. First, making avoiding jury duty more
difficult. The list of excuses in the Act can be reduced to achieve this. Additionally, the reforms must
address the racial diversity in juries. According to Israel, parties are likely to attempt to exclude
Indigenous and other ethnic minorities from in the selection process (1998). However, for the jury to
represent the voice of the people it must be racially diverse, as Australia is a very multicultural
country. As a result, a possible reform is making it more difficult for the parties to object to certain
jurors. To rectify the issue of a lack of competence in juries, a solution is to expand the kinds of cases
that a judge only trials. At present, for example, complicated tax and fraud cases require a judge only
trial. A reform is to make it possible for further kinds of cases to be added. An alternative reform is to
allow an independent lawyer to explain issues to the jury outside of court sessions, rather than relying
on the judges instructions alone. The lawyer could identify any misunderstandings and correct them.
Overall, it is necessary for reforms to be put in place to address

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Jailbreak

Head As stated in Key Features (n.d.), street sweeper contains a very sharp feature which is a pick up
head which contains two attractive features in it. One is suction system and other is air blast. The main
motive of these systems is that it helps to remove debris from the streets. In addition to that, it has
another interesting feature in it which is skids that improves wear life of pick up head (para.1.). Figure

Sadly, the fact of the matter is that is highly unlikely. Most CEOs would most likely reform their

money and people like having nice things. so with that being said the company is at a low risk of
failing unless they have other issues dealing with the likes of care quality issues, excessive safety
recalls, and other various issues that would cause a consumer lose faith in your brand and your
company. But until that happens the proverbial road is clear for what you see fit because the economic
state of America is in, they can buy a car with little to no hesitation. Which all reverts back to money

there is no foolproof way to have every party at maximum satisfaction. Its is like splitting 100% three

Disadvantages Of Harmonization Of Law
As Cohen (2009) stated, harmonization can happen in a variety of ways, ranging from the decisions of
individual states to reform their own legal structures to conform to a common standard to the adoption
of a multilateral treaty in which states commit themselves to adopt a common legal model. (Leebron,
1996) This can be seen in some countries who have adapted different ways of reforming their own
model while it can also be seen in regional areas mainly the European Union (EU) while the
Association of Southeast nations (ASEAN) have just adopted it last year.
There is a benefit as well as challenge in doing harmonization of law. The researcher thinks that the
only benefit is the reason why it is mainly good for all the countries involved. The only benefit is that
it makes trading easier. The researcher thinks that the countries involved could see increase in their
economy since trading is easier. A country ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The global financial crisis in 2008 exposed the structural flaws of the EMU. The first challenge the
researcher saw is if the ASEAN countries would meet the financial criteria that would be set once the
ASEAN dollar is in use. When euro was launched, not every member at that time joined immediately.
At the same time, Greece did not qualify but was allowed to join in 2001. It is also important to note
that Britain and Denmark uses their own currency. If ASEAN adopts the ASEAN dollar, questions
such as if they are all qualified, what about those who are not qualified and those who do not want to
use the ASEAN dollar. The currency right now shows that Brunei and Singapore are above every other
member while Malaysia is catching up, others are far behind. If ASEAN dollar, would be put in to use,
countries like Brunei, Singapore and Malaysia may copy what Britain did since the Britain pound is
higher than the euro. (Young, McCord, Crawford,

Michaels dream has a sense of uncertainty looming about it. In Michael s dream he is in a blackbirds
nest with his baby sister. His little sister is in the form of a bird cross human. There are two doctors at
the bottom of the tree they are in. The doctors are equipped with a table of knifes and scissors. The
two men are beckoning Michael to come down with the baby. Bring her down! he yelled we ll make
her good as new . The knives and scissors symbolise Michaels worries of what might happen to the
baby if he takes her down or if he puts his trust into the doctors. The line we ll make her as good as
new and go on baby fly are taunting Michaels protective instinct for his sister. They are almost testing
him seeing how far they can take him. When Michael sees the great bare patches on her skin it implies
that she is weak that she is not strong enough to fly. She teetered on the brink indicates Michaels
worries of close she is to falling or how close she is to dying. Almond describes that baby being
covered in feathers and being warm and soft. These are some characteristics of skellig. At this point
almond is connecting the baby to skellig. He is suggesting that michael is also worried about skellig
dying, he is also teetering on the

Irregular Intelligence
Intelligence Collection and Analysis Demands for Irregular Warfare According to Reiley (2008)
defining the sociological makeup target area is the most important aspect to conducting irregular
warfare (Reiley, 2008). According to Larson when assessing Irregular warfare, analysts need to begin
with an analysis that focus on gaining an overview of the origins and history of the conflict; what
classified and unclassified secondary analyses say about political, socioeconomic, and other drivers of
the conflict; and key fault lines or other structural characteristics of the conflict, for example the
nature of the coalition supporting the government and its challengers (Larson, 2008) (Reiley, 2008).

intelligence community and identified possible analytical methods for eliminating these challenges for

conflicts the results are not always ideal. When the U.S. intelligence community was created in 1947
its goal was to target the threats posed by other nation states like and not the threats posed by small
guerilla warfare or irregular warfare. These types of conflicts require a different type of analysis, due
to the unpredictability and small units, the analyst needs to be much more precise and be constantly
monitoring the threat (Poppas Simon, 2008). Globalization has allowed for these minor actors to have
a major impact, making a detailed understanding of them, just as important as the collection of

Edgar Allan Poe Outline
Edgar Allan Poe [1] Edgar Allan Poe (January 19, 1809 to October 7, 1849) was an American writer,
poet, critic and editor best known for evocative short stories and poems that captured the imagination
and interest of readers around the world. His imaginative storytelling and tales of mystery and horror
gave birth to the modern detective story. Many of Poe s works, including The Tell Tale Heart and The
Fall of the House of Usher, became literary classics. Some aspects of Poe s life, like his literature, is
shrouded in mystery, and the lines between fact and fiction have been blurred substantially since his
death. [2] Poe self published his first book, Tamerlane and Other Poems, in 1827. His second poetry
collection, Al Aaraaf, Tamerlane, and Minor Poems, was published in 1829. As a critic at the Southern
Literary Messenger in Richmond from 1835 to 1837, Poe published some of his own works in the
magazine, including two parts of his only novel, The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym. [3] In late
1830s, Poe published Tales of the Grotesque and Arabesque, a collection of short stories. It contained
several of his most spine tingling tales, including The Fall of the House of Usher, Ligeia and William
Wilson. [4] In 1841, Poe launched the new genre of detective fiction with The Murders in the Rue
Morgue. His literary innovations earned him the nickname Father of the Detective Story. A writer on
the rise, he won a literary prize in 1843 for The Gold Bug, a

Essay Rear Window, by Alfred Hitchcock
In the movie, Rear Window, Alfred Hitchcock uses the story of a cripple free lance photographer, Jeff
Jeffries, to explain the twisted sense of society in the 1950 s. Hitchcock uses clever things from the
way the apartments are being filmed to the dialogue between Jeffries, Lisa, and Stella to show
societies interest in pain, tragedy, and discomfort, and in the end you see how tragedy is what makes
everyone happy. From the very beginning of Rear Window we encounter scenes where Hitchcock
shows Stella being sadistic, but we come to realize later that it is not just Stella. Stella is just the only
one who speaks out about it. You must observe all the other characters actions and reactions to truly
see. Stella tells Jeffries ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the story goes on and she begins to believe Jeffries you sense that he is becoming more attracted to
her. The first big change is when she comes over and creates a believable story for him. In the
previous scene when they were kissing he wasn t focused at all, but after she tells him the twisted
story about the possible death of the neighbors he becomes intrigued by her and the kissing then
becomes passionate. The death of the neighbor s wife is what really allows you to see how the society
is corrupted. The biggest reactions of the neighbors in the movie come where there is death. The first
when the dog dies, and then when Jeffries is hanging from the window about to fall to his death. The
only truly happy couple, made obvious by Hitchcock during the film, is the couple that death comes
to, in the case of their dog. Everyone else in the film seems miserable and isolated only brought
together by death. The wife of the couple says it when she makes a comment announcing how
miserable of neighbors they are. Hitchcock uses misery, tragedy, and death to show the emotions of
his characters. At no point is this more obvious than the end of the movie. Hitchcock spends the entire
movie building up to this point and in the end he makes it extremely clear how tragedy has changed
the relationship of everyone. After the nagging husbands murder of his wife has been confessed you

The definition of rural and remote Australia is based on the access to health, workforce and major
cities. One feature to define geographical rurality is when many services are less accessible to them.

The Butcher Boy Irish Imperialism
Midterm Essay Prompt 3 During the British invasion and colonization, the Irish endured decades of
violence and oppression. During this time, the Irish were stereotyped and made out to be inferior to
their British counterparts in an attempt to justify their right to rule. The Irish people were depicted as
violent drunks who were more animal than human. They were often likened to pigs, portrayed as poor,
dirty, and stupid. Obviously, this contributed to the animosity between the native Irish and their Anglo
Irish neighbors. The country lacked any sort of unified national identity. Even after Ireland received
full independence, the effects of this long term injustice definitely left its mark. Once they received
full autonomy, Irish society ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main character, Francie Brady, is a very troubled young man with an alcoholic father and a
mentally ill mother. His family is frequently talked down to and disrespected by their community.
Nobody wants to deal with Francie, so when he begins acting out, he is sent away first to an industrial
school, then to a mental institution. Because he does not fit in with the ideal Irish community, Francie
is pushed out. Furthermore, this social rejection only intensifies Francie s mental instability. Francie
dives into a world of delusion and fantasy, trying to create a world in which he can be happy. He
twists the world around him so he is not an outcast. No matter how badly his community treats him, he
is accepted if only in his mind. And as more and more people leave him behind, he is only driven
deeper into his fantasy world. In this case, Francie, a mentally ill delinquent and his family, are made
into the other. They do not fit into what their community sees as the ideal Ireland, so they are
ostracized. This isolation only adds fuel to the fire, driving Francie more and more into his delusions,
ultimately leading to his murder of his neighbor who labelled him and his family as pigs. Francie can
be seen as a symbol of darker side of Irish society. He is immature, emotionally stunted, and nostalgic

New media has been easily made available everywhere and Facebook in particular as one of the world
most popular social networking site (SNS) can be made accessible from desktops, laptops,
smartphones and tablet because of this, almost everybody can have access to Facebook anywhere they
go. For the most reason, due to the introduction of new media, Facebook plays a key role
communication and staying in touch with families, friends, acquaintances, businesses, groups
meetings and a whole lot of others. Moreover it has also been useful in growing markets and
advertising mediums through big companies, brands and highly respectable top class businesses. New
media as a broad topic can be defined as a form of communication which transmits information
through a medium that uses routers and servers via high speed internet and involves materials been
received via desktops, computers, tablets and smartphones . In this paper, I will like to convey how the
dramaturgical model of social interaction on the use of Facebook reveal how humans communicate
their identities using front stage, back stage and impression management to have a perceived view
about the world as well as how it reflects Facebook users everyday lives. To begin with, the world s

The Glass Castle
The Glass Castle
As I first started reading The Glass Castle by Jane Walls the novel immediately caught my attention.
There were many things that I found to interesting throughout the novel. Through my reading I also
found certain characters or events to be annoying.
The first thing I found to be interesting is staring the novel with her mother. Wall s mother is
rummaging through the dumpster and she goes out of her way to avoid her mother. I was overcome
with panic that she s see me and call out my name, and that someone on the way to the party would
spot us together and mom would introduce herself and my secret would be out (12). It seems she is
embarrassed that her mother is homeless and ashamed because it is a secret. I find it very interesting ...

found this of her to say that even if she weren t okay she would be okay to be very mature of her at a
young age.
I believe her parents are very interesting as well and at times can be irresponsible. For example when
her brother Brian fell off of the back of the couch and they did not take him to the hospital. There was
blood everywhere, Mom said but one kid in the hospital at a time is enough. Besides dad said, Brian s
head is hard, I think the floor took more damage than he did (20). This is just one example of them
being irresponsible. I think they should have taken him to the hospital no matter what they thought he
could handle.
Overall I think the events in the novel are very interesting. I believe it is an interesting novel because
of her family and their actions. Through my reading I have not found the book to be boring one

Arab And Norman Dominations
When talking about the historical periods of Sicily, especially the period of Arab and Norman
domination, we are not talking about Arabs on one side and Normans on the other because they are
usually tied together and represented as one unique period, the Arab Norman. When the Normans
conquered Sicily during the 11th century, some elements of the Arab world were not removed, but
assimilated and improved. In this respect, we can talk of an historical continuity between Arab and
Norman dominations in Sicily. Institutionally, the Normans combined the administrative organisation
of the Byzantines, Arabs, and Lombards with their own conceptions of feudal law and order to forge a
unique government. Under this state, there was great religious freedom,

Role Playing Paradigm
Discussion The present research set out to test Nail et al (2010, March) theory that using a role playing
paradigm instead of deception as an adequate way of testing cognitive dissonance. To do this we
replicated Nail et al. (2010, March) experiment using the paradigm of being stood up by Chris who
was in a car accident (sufficient justification) or being stood up by Chris who received another
invitation for dinner by a different friend (insufficient justification). Our findings were in support of
Nail et al. (2010, March), with sufficient participants level of dissonance at (M= 2.49) and insufficient
participants level dissonance at (M= 8.05). The research also tested the theory that having social
support would reduce the dissonance. To do ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Meeting friends after being stood up was a form of positive social support. That support benefited
Chris in getting a higher rating. But what if the friends were a negative influence and during dinner
down graded Chris or even suggested you lash out? How much lower would Chris be rated even with
sufficient justification? Now consider if your political party did not win the election. If you surround
yourself with positive social support; people who agree and support your candidate; over dinner the
conversation could include ideas for reform, the next plan of action and the way to make the best out
of the next four years. This could benefit the country as a whole. But what would the conversation be
with negative social support? The same like minded people in a dinner conversation could end up in
violent outburst in the streets. What is going to happen to the country if the negative social support out
number the positive? The same theory could be applied to drug addicts. Most addicts understand that
doing drugs is harmful to themselves and those that love them. This causes cognitive dissonance. To
relieve this they search for social support; usually finding friends who use the same type of drug.
Since this is encouraging the poor behavior it is not positive social support. Positive social support
would be finding friends in group meetings

It has a limited capacity, (Dewey 1). 100 percent of human beings have selective attention. Essentially,
it is built into our hard drive. Everyone knows that being forgetful is a part of being human. Although

The first theory to look at is the Bottleneck Theory from the 1950 s by Donald Broadbent. Along with
Broadbent, others also created bottleneck modeled theories. These people include Treisman and

  • 4. The Importance Of Post Clinical Trial Results In The... Background Information From 21 July 2014 it became compulsory to post clinical trial results in the European Clinical Trials Database (EudraCT) which is managed by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and it is essential for clinical study information to be made more reachable and accessible. By saying Clinical Trial the agencies are referring to any trials on new drugs that are in preparation for a regulatory submission, drugs, devices or procedures on any medical interventions and any other investigations that involves of participants for research purposes, for example psychology studies. This also avoids excessive research and expands the accessible evidence on an intervention. Four sets of information are needed: Whether the trial has actually happened, which means it is necessary for the trial to be registered. Information such as the study protocol, analysis plan and possible completion date of the trial could be registered before the trial starts. This means the final result could be checked against the protocol and would be easier to find out about any non published trials. Summary of the method and results brief summary and result for every trial that was conducted. Clinical Study Reports (CSR) to see whether there were any amendments to the protocol during the course of the trial, which could mean that somebody has noticed something in the result and they want to change the analysis in a way that is more flattering. • 6. How Did Fordham University Changed My Life This will be a bit unpolished. I would just like to say Fordham University has absolutely changed my life and has impacted me and my story in my life thus far. To explain, I was one of many students internationally who applied to the School of the New York Times last spring. I got the notice a few weeks later and was eventually accepted into the program. I come from a low income family here in Southeast/Rainier Beach, Seattle, Washington, yet regardless of where I come from my community has always been there to support me through thick and thin, and has not given up on me when I needed them the most. The issue that arose from my acceptance letter was the staggering amount of money it was to be a part of the program. The School of the New York Times gave me three months of time to accumulate $4.5 thousand dollars to have been admitted officially, and although I doubted myself and my ability, I told myself I believe and can do it if I put my mind to it. Consequently, I made a gofundme.com page and started working. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Because of believing in myself, In 3 days, word of mouth had spread so much all over Seattle, that my gofundme.com page had gone viral and had raised $4.6 thousand dollars in 72 hours or less. • 7. Stereotypes In Sticks And Stones Throughout Sticks and Stones, Bazelon presents the readers with evidence to break through bullying stereotypes. In order to clarify the situations that occur with bullying, Bazelon chooses to provide the readers with facts to determine what stereotypes are true and which ones are deceiving. In Sticks and Stones, we see how Aaron bullied Jacob, because Jacob was gay. However, bullies target others for different reasons, but kids like Aaron are the ones who are called bully victims in the psych literature...sometimes they lash out because they re frustrated over how they re being treated (Bazelon 71). Bullies are always viewed as the bad or mean kids in stereotypes, but what we do not always realize is that the bully could be suffering in some way too. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It could also be a cry for help or attention. In Monique s chapter, Bazelon explains that kids who bully, by contrast, have more varied profiles. This is one reason why bullying is such a stubborn problem for schools: the perpetrators aren t a monolithic group (Bazelon 30). Through this information, Bazelon demonstrates how so many of these stereotypes are deceiving, and we need to think more about the other factors that come to play with these stereotypes. When it comes to bullies, most people tend to think it is always the popular kids or the school s mean girls , however the bullies may not always be those kids. As Monique shared in her story, even her friends turned on her and began to join in on the tormenting against her. This clarifies that a bully is not always the popular kids, yet sometimes it can be. There are several different types of bullies and they all lash out at others for different reasons. Since Bazelon expressed these facts in her book, it resulted in the readers taking a new approach to how they might normally classify or view a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Liberalism And Human Rights Essay within the confinements of liberalism and with respect to traditional human rights, however, the central governments have managed to bypass the creed of liberalism and human rights. 2) Redrawing the boundaries, or reducing the powers, of internal political subunits controlled by the national minority; decisions on the boundaries and powers of internal political subunits. Some liberal democratic states engaged in redrawing boundaries which are within the confinement of liberalism and the liberal state, but encroaches the rights of national minorities. The central states draw boundaries to disempower national minorities. For instance, a minority s territory are divided into several units to make cohesive political action impossible. For example, the division of France into 83 departments after the Revolution, which intentionally subdivided the historical regions of the Basques, Bretons, and other linguistic minorities; or the division of Catalonia region in Spain. 3) Language policies; decisions on official languages. In many liberal democratic states, the majority language is adopted as official or de facto official language where it is used in government, bureaucracy, courts, schools, and business. While there are exceptions to this many liberal democratic states allow for multilingualism yet the policies related to language should be more robustly clarified within the human rights creed of democratic liberalism. • 9. Descriptive Essay About Miracle Camp According to an expert, A lot of parents pack up their troubles and send them off to summer camp. Maybe that is what my parents were thinking? I was at Miracle Camp in Lawton, Michigan in June of 2015. Miracle Camp in a Christian camp for anyone who wants to deepen their love and understanding of the Lord. You can accomplish all of this while having the most fun you have ever had! I went with a few of my really good friends so I got to grow closer to the Lord with some friends. There are a lot of things that you can do at Miracle Camp during your 2 hours of free time. I will try and name the different activities, that you can do at Miracle Camp. You can go to the lakefront, and at the lakefront you can go tubing, blobbing, be on a water trampoline, boating, or you can just hang out in the water! If you are not quite the water fanatic then there are many other possibilities for you. On the main campus, you can go to the craft shack, the coffee stand, play frisbee golf, or go to the gym and play glow in the dark Dodgeball! Miracle Camp even has something for the adventurous side of everyone. You can walk to the Back 40 (which is the 4 acres of woods in the back of the campus). In the Back 40 there are lots of things to do, but you can only be in Junior High for these activities. Some of which include, rock wall climbing, ziplining, archery, and learning how to start a fire, weave vines into nets, etc. The normal schedule at Miracle camp for junior high is, get up around ... • 10. Essay on A Study of Perspectives A Study of Perspectives Livingston s documentary Paris is Burning inspired an awareness of being that I had not previously experienced. The film urges the spectator to reevaluate not only one s breadth of knowledge of the black gay culture in the 80 s, but also the perspectives from which one views the film. Personally speaking, the easiest evaluation of the latter topic would be the perspective of a privileged white straight female born into a sheltered and socially traditional household. This background would thus color my reaction to the film: one of intense sadness for the featured interviewees who yearned for an existence which was mostly unobtainable except in the case of extreme sacrifice and typically led to social ostracizing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This new found perspective, achieved during class discussions and readings, was the finale of the topic for me until I checked my mailbox after class the following day. In my mailbox was an honor code abstract detailing a case brought before the council in previous months. My first thought when carrying the abstract home with me was curiosity at what felt and looked to be a massive case summery of around 30 pages. I settled down to read it. The case abstract dealt with an occurrence two semesters ago during a Halloween dance on Bryn Mawr s campus. Two Haverford male students attended the Hallween party at Rhoads dressed as two specific female Black popstars. They had painted themselves brown and attached prosthetic breasts and buttocks to their bodies. (The Muppets abstract, pg. 1) The case abstract is incredibly detailed in documenting all parties statements and reactions. After the Halloween party where they wore their costumes the entire night the two males felt necessary to write an explanation to the community after hearing some rumblings about their costume from friends and strangers alike. They explained that they had no intention on offending anyone in the community, but had simply chosen the costumes because of its ridiculous nature. • 11. Lord Of The Flies And The Destructors I am most interested with the characters in The Destructors written by a British author Graham Greene. It focuses on a gang of adolescent boys who decide to destroy an old man s house. The behaviors of these boys remind me of a book I read, Lord of The Flies by William Goldings, it tells the story of a group of British school boys who are attacked on an airplane during World War II and they crash on a deserted island. The two stories happen during and after World War II, the extreme violence and injustice of the war has overwhelmed people at that time, horrific incidents such as the holocaust have left people questions about religions, authorities and human nature. • 12. Definition Of Poverty There are a number of definitions of poverty. It is a multifaceted notion which includes social, economic, and political components. How we define poverty is critical to politics, policy and academic debates about the concept. It is bound up with explanations and has implications for solutions. (Lister, 2004 as cited in Class notes, 2017). The United Nations, first established in 1945 shortly after the second world war, was created to promote international co operation and maintain international order (UN, 2017). The global term for poverty is defined by using the Gross National Product (GNP) and Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Both defined by the World Bank, GNP uses market valuations to measure national income: GNP per capita (each person) gives an indication of the typical material living standards of a nation, whereas, GDP is a measure of the total market value of goods and services output and their economic activity. The United Nations set the bar at the minimum daily income of $1.25 (93 pence) per day (Class notes, 2017). If you are living on less than this you are classed as living in absolute poverty. How poverty is measured is a contested concept and has had researchers long trying to establish a fixed method of determining. The four main concepts are absolute poverty, relative poverty and deprivation, consensual poverty, and social exclusion (Class notes, 2017). The concept of absolute poverty was developed in the 19th century by Joseph Rowntree and was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Undecidability in Becket s The Endgame This paper aims to study postmodern element of undecidability in Samuel Becket s Endgame. As Butler and Davis holds, What is different about Becket is not that he provokes a critical response ... but the protean, open ended, undecidable and inexhaustible quality of the challenge he offers (168). Endgame like Becket s other plays is in a way that, as Wittgenstein notes, is nothing more than language play between characters and although there are some minor actions there are not in such a way to affect the play, moreover it is their vague utterances that make the play undecidable for the reader to make out what is happening. Andrew Bennett and Nicholas Royle in their An Introduction to Literature, Criticism and Theory explain the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So it can not be decided that the play is taking place whether in a physical world that is like a refuge for characters or as it is mentioned Endgame may be an image for the dissociation of a human consciousness and dying of mind in a mental setting (56). Nell?s living is also in question. During the play Hamm asks Clov to check on Nagg and Nell. Clov returns and says that it appears as if Nell is dead, whereas Nagg is merely crying in his bin. Becket creates doubts in the reader?s minds, they ask this question from themselves that, what happened for Nell and is she really dead or not? The other considerable undecided point is about Clov?s leaving. Throughout the play, he many times tells Hamm that, ?I?ll leave you, I have thing to do? (Endgame 10) But the reader can not be sure about his leaving when comes to this dialogue: Clov: So you all want me to leave you. Hamm: Naturally. Clov: Then I? ll leave you. Hamm: You can?t leave us. Clov: Then I won?t leave you. (2669) In this way, with these indications, the reader remain doubtful that whether he is leaving Hamm or not, even at the end of the play, though he dressed and ready to go, he has not yet left (116). At the end it can be concluded that, Samuel Becket?s Endgame with all these ambiguous and indistinct issues, such as title of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This thesis is established by first examining the role that juries play in the criminal justice system and the various interests of those affected by juries. This is followed by a consideration of arguments for and against juries and reforms that may be made to the jury system. Additionally, the reforms must address the racial diversity in juries. According to Israel, parties are likely to attempt to exclude Indigenous and other ethnic minorities from in the selection process (1998). As a result, a possible reform is making it more difficult for the parties to object to certain jurors. To rectify the issue of a lack of competence in juries, a solution is to expand the kinds of cases that a judge only trials. At present, for example, complicated tax and fraud cases require a judge only trial. A reform is to make it possible for further kinds of cases to be added. • 33. The Glass Castle The Glass Castle As I first started reading The Glass Castle by Jane Walls the novel immediately caught my attention. There were many things that I found to interesting throughout the novel. Through my reading I also found certain characters or events to be annoying. The first thing I found to be interesting is staring the novel with her mother. Wall s mother is rummaging through the dumpster and she goes out of her way to avoid her mother. I was overcome with panic that she s see me and call out my name, and that someone on the way to the party would spot us together and mom would introduce herself and my secret would be out (12). It seems she is embarrassed that her mother is homeless and ashamed because it is a secret. I find it very interesting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At a young age of three she was boiling water and making hot dogs. What you can infer is that she is mature for her age. While she was in the hospital one of the nurses tried to comfort her. One of them squeezed my hand and told I was going to be okay I know. I said, But if I m not, that s okay too (17). I found this of her to say that even if she weren t okay she would be okay to be very mature of her at a young age. I believe her parents are very interesting as well and at times can be irresponsible. For example when her brother Brian fell off of the back of the couch and they did not take him to the hospital. There was blood everywhere, Mom said but one kid in the hospital at a time is enough. Besides dad said, Brian s head is hard, I think the floor took more damage than he did (20). This is just one example of them being irresponsible. I think they should have taken him to the hospital no matter what they thought he could handle. Overall I think the events in the novel are very interesting. I believe it is an interesting novel because of her family and their actions. Through my reading I have not found the book to be boring one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 35. Arab And Norman Dominations When talking about the historical periods of Sicily, especially the period of Arab and Norman domination, we are not talking about Arabs on one side and Normans on the other because they are usually tied together and represented as one unique period, the Arab Norman. When the Normans conquered Sicily during the 11th century, some elements of the Arab world were not removed, but assimilated and improved. In this respect, we can talk of an historical continuity between Arab and Norman dominations in Sicily. Institutionally, the Normans combined the administrative organisation of the Byzantines, Arabs, and Lombards with their own conceptions of feudal law and order to forge a unique government. Under this state, there was great religious freedom, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. Role Playing Paradigm Discussion The present research set out to test Nail et al (2010, March) theory that using a role playing paradigm instead of deception as an adequate way of testing cognitive dissonance. To do this we replicated Nail et al. (2010, March) experiment using the paradigm of being stood up by Chris who was in a car accident (sufficient justification) or being stood up by Chris who received another invitation for dinner by a different friend (insufficient justification). Our findings were in support of Nail et al. (2010, March), with sufficient participants level of dissonance at (M= 2.49) and insufficient participants level dissonance at (M= 8.05). The research also tested the theory that having social support would reduce the dissonance. To do ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Meeting friends after being stood up was a form of positive social support. That support benefited Chris in getting a higher rating. But what if the friends were a negative influence and during dinner down graded Chris or even suggested you lash out? How much lower would Chris be rated even with sufficient justification? Now consider if your political party did not win the election. If you surround yourself with positive social support; people who agree and support your candidate; over dinner the conversation could include ideas for reform, the next plan of action and the way to make the best out of the next four years. This could benefit the country as a whole. But what would the conversation be with negative social support? The same like minded people in a dinner conversation could end up in violent outburst in the streets. What is going to happen to the country if the negative social support out number the positive? The same theory could be applied to drug addicts. Most addicts understand that doing drugs is harmful to themselves and those that love them. This causes cognitive dissonance. To relieve this they search for social support; usually finding friends who use the same type of drug. Since this is encouraging the poor behavior it is not positive social support. Positive social support would be finding friends in group meetings ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It has a limited capacity, (Dewey 1). 100 percent of human beings have selective attention. Essentially, it is built into our hard drive. Everyone knows that being forgetful is a part of being human. Although our brain works hard to store memories for us, it leaves out many key details, ideas, feelings, or objects. Selective attention is one of the main causes of being forgetful, and the Bottleneck Theory, the Cocktail Party Effect, the Filter Theory, and Fagley s Survey, will explain why people do not retain as much information at once. 1. The Bottleneck Theory The first theory to look at is the Bottleneck Theory from the 1950 s by Donald Broadbent. Along with Broadbent, others also created bottleneck modeled theories. These people include Treisman and Deutsch. Their, Models of Attention are all bottleneck models because they predict we cannot consciously attend to all of our sensory input at the same time, (Selective Attention 1). However, Broadbent is recognized as one of the major contributors when it came to the research involved in this theory. He related selective attention to our working memory which is, that which holds our attention, and it works as our limited capacity storage. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
