Nursing Professional Portfolios
Portfolios have been used to showcase the work of artists, fashion designers, models, photographers
and architects, spanning several decades (M.Williams., K.Jordan., 2007) These career portfolios have
been adopted in to the nursing profession where they serve as an augmentation but not a replacement
of their curriculum vitae (Lettus, 2001). They have not only transcended beyond the traditional listing
of basic information such as relevant past work experiences and positions held, educational
institutions attended and achievements but provide additional information that resumes would have
presented (M.J. Jone., 2007). A professional portfolio is a thoughtfully prepared and organised
compilation of different types of professional information and evidence that illustrate an individual s
record of continuing professional development activities, skills, experiences, knowledge,
competencies, professional achievements and goals as well as their level of expertise that one has
attained as a result of their experiences. (Andre Heartfield, 2011)The basic components of a
professional portfolio include personal details, resume and documents such as certificates graduate
transcripts, licensure, (Davis, 2015) professional organisation memberships, professional awards,
annual performance appraisals, dates of promotions, recommendations from current or previous
supervisors or employers, peers and others (Timmins Duffy, 2011). ... Show more content on

Disadvantages Of Rural Development
There is a lot of construction work have been carried out in the city. But the development of
construction works in rural areas also increased. This is to explore the rural area which has potential or
ability to become an attraction of our country. There are many advantages in rural development some
of them are increasing in literacy rate, improve in transportation and road facility, water problems are
solved, better improvement in power supply and also improving to live a better life.
http://www.answers.com/Q/What_are_the_advantages_of_rural_development One of the advantages
in rural development is literacy rate is increasing in rural areas. The literacy rate of people in rural
areas is poor if compare to the people who live in city. This is because there is less educational
introduce in the rural areas. The rural areas are lack of educational because they do not have enough
resources to construct educational building such as school. The children in rural areas should study to
gain knowledge and get use of it. So, the advantage of rural development to the population is the

use the motorcycle and car as their daily transportation. It is more convenient, easy and safer than
using boat. In short, development of the transportation and road facility in rural area is important and

Indonesi A Model For Democracy
From being ruled by an authoritative government, Indonesia now has become a model for democracy
in Asia. Over the years, Indonesia has slowly made the transition to democracy. Its new presidential
election is clear evidence of this transition because the Indonesians chose to elect a common man to be
the president: an official who they thought would understand their struggles. Within 15 years,
Indonesia has transitioned from a bureaucratic authoritarian regime to a formal presidentialism. The
newly elected president has already taken steps toward implementing his reforms which consists of
pushing to cut down fuel subsidies, getting rid of corruption and encouraging new businesses to invest
in Indonesia by giving them tax incentives. These are clear signs that consolidated liberal democracy
in Indonesia has already taken place and that Indonesia will continue to be a democratic country in the
future.
Historians study history because they find it interesting and want to keep a thorough record of events.
However, political scientists study history in order to theorize and predict what caused certain events
and how history will have an impact on the future. One of the most important theories in political
science is Lipset s modernization theory. The first part of the theory states as societies become more
modern, they inevitably become more democratic. The second part of this theory is that democracies
lacking economic and cultural status tend not to last. Modernization only aids

The Troubled Souls Of Burdened Authors In The Late Eighteenth
The troubled souls of burdened authors in the late eighteenth through late nineteenth century permitted
Romanticism to be recognized as the different development that characterized disaster and
sentimentalism as the justification for delightful motivation. Authors amid this time were considered
to be furious with no health to the spirit. Because of the substance that most sentimentalists showed, it
is stated that most were sincerely and mentally aggravated. The unwillingness inside every spirit can
be tended to as current misery. Be that as it may, in the 1800 s 1900 s sadness was not clinically

The Hollow Men Stylistics
1. Introduction This paper deals with a stylistic analysis of Eliot s poem The Hollow Men . What are
the stylistic featuresexploited by Eliot to make his poem more expressive is the main problem that this
study tries to investigate. It aims to explore ways in which language use has been integrated in the
selected poems. It is also aimed at analyzing some of the distinctive features that give the selected
poem their identity. To fulfill the aim of the study, it hypothesizes that Eliot exploits certain linguistic
deviations as an essential way to make his poem more expressive. So as to examine the proposed
hypothesis, certain representative examples have been chosen from the poem for the sake of analysis.
Some stylistic features are investigated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We normally study style because we want to explain something, and in general, literary stylistics has
the goal of explaining the relation between language and artistic function (Leech and Short, 1981:
13).Short and Candlin (1989: 183) view stylistics as a linguistic approach to the study of the literary
texts. It thus embodies one essential part of the general course; that of combining language and literary
study. Stylistics, the study of the devices in languages such as rhetorical figures and syntactical
patterns that are considered to produce expressive or literary style. Haynes (1989: 3) refers to style as
the manner of expression which is different in various contexts. It is defined depending on one s field
of study.Style as deviation from the norm, Language is a behavior governed by rules and norms. When
something is done in a quite different way from how it is usually done, then that is said to be a
deviation from the norm. This is achieved by reconstruction from the structural resource of language

syntactic level and used mostly for effective

A Biphasic Compound Action Potential
DISCUSSION
Biphasic CAP. For the recording of a biphasic compound action potential, both the positive and
negative recording electrodes were used, with the negative recording electrode at position D and the
positive recording electrode at position E (refer to Figure 1). The extracellular bipolar recording takes
the difference between what the negative electrode picked up and what the positive electrode picked
up. The first, positive deflection of the CAP was caused by the extracellular negative charge of the
action potential recorded by the negative electrode subtracted from the positive resting charge at the
positive electrode a positive value minus a negative value yields a positive value, hence the positive,
upward deflection of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The compound action potential adds up all the action potentials that each individual neuron
experiences in the sciatic nerve. Different stimulus amplitudes cause different neurons to fire an action
potential; this is due to the fact that each neuron has a different threshold potential, or the minimum
voltage the neuron needs to fire an action potential. The individual neuron action potential is an all or
nothing event, but the CAP, as a summation of different individual neurons, is not. The CAP
amplitude will increase with larger stimulus potentials because more neurons with higher individual
thresholds will be recruited. For this frog sciatic nerve, there are three fiber types, A, B, and C. A
fibers are further divided, in the order of decreasing diameter, into ฮฑ, ฮฒ, ฮณ, and ฮด fibers. There is an
inverse relationship between the diameter of the nerve fiber and the threshold potential: the larger the
diameter, the lower the threshold. Thus, as the largest fibers, the Aฮฑ neurons will be the first to be
stimulated at a low stimulus potential, and the Aฮด neuron fibers will be the last to be recruited.
Because the sciatic nerve is mostly composed of A fibers, the recruitment of A subtype nerve fibers are
more readily distinguishable from the data. The minimum potential required to stimulate the Aฮฑ fibers
was between 75 mV and 80 mV. Once the stimulus potential reached 90 mV, Aฮฒ neurons were
recruited and contributed to the increase in amplitude of the CAP. At a stimulus

Bicameral Legislature Essay
Famous American poet James Russell Lowell once said, Democracy gives every man the right to be
his own oppressor ( Quotations 2011). And it should be just that. James Russell Lowell successfully
defined democracy when it is in its truest form; a citizen s beliefs should be equally represented and
considered for. The representative democracy instated in the United States presents the need for three
branches in the government; they include the executive, legislative, and judicial branch. The Congress
embodies the lawmaking branch of the government, having all legislative powers as it is stated in
Article I of the Constitution. To prevent one state from having too much power over other states, the
Congress was separated into the House ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They must have the bills checked by both bodies as well as the president and if they disapprove, a veto
can be placed. Another similarity is that both the House and the Senate are also elected by the people.
Although they have some comparisons in the way the House is set up and the tasks they have to do,
there are many distinctions. The House of Representatives contains more than four times the amount
of Senators and serves two year terms compared to a Senator s six year term. Senators also have to be
at least thirty years of age with nine years of citizenship while the House sets a twenty five year old
minimum with seven years of citizenship (Harrison 408). While the House is led by the Speaker of the
House, John Boehner, the Senate is led by the Vice President, who is currently Joe Biden.
With 435 members in the House, the House of Representatives is known to be the body that
symbolizes the citizens of America. It was intended that the House adhered to the beliefs of the people
more than the Senate did, making the House of Representatives a bit more democratic. Senators are
voted to represent the beliefs of a whole state; while on the other hand, members of House represent
groups of citizens in specific districts of states. Because of this, representatives try and submit bills
that appeal to the voters in their own district. This allows members to

many other names attached to so many other periods of art, was a name conceived in disdain and

Network security revolves around confidentiality, authentication, message integrity, and access
availability.
The vulnerabilities of wireless networking may involve the attack of web browsers, on line banking,
DNS servers, and routers exchanging routing table updates, purchases, transactions or stolen personal
data. The lack of security with a wireless system may result in denial of service, hijacking, fake
impersonation, or eavesdropping for interception of messages through cyber crimes. Each
communicating user should select the language of cryptography, agree and share the symmetric key.
The best security practices includes firewalls, intrusion detection systems, secured and updated
applications, transport, configured properly working network, and link layers.

A typical warrior is a medieval knight in shining armor fighting for his life and homeland. Today, the
definition of what it means to be a warrior has become ambiguous. Often times, we view those willing
to sacrifice their lives for others soldiers, police officers, or firefighters as warriors. Even expanded in
this way, the warrior still has a connotation of physical bravery, masculine strength, and unhindered
confidence. However, the word warrior can have an entirely new meaning when we use it in a literary
context. It can be defined as a person who is simply fighting for convictions and values that are
morally and ethically right. As associated with women, some real, some legendary, some with evident
power, some seeming to be weak. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

tell anyone because it risked bringing exposure and shame to the family (1). After hearing the events
through her mother s perspective, Maxine understood that her mother controlled the way events
unraveled. This realization showcases how Maxine was able to think outside the framework her
mother was providing for her. Maxine imagined that in order to sustain being in love, [her aunt] often
worked at herself in the mirror (6). Her innocence and ability to recognize what her mother was trying
to invoke fear in her actually directed Maxine to think in a contradictory way. As a result of this
evolved critical thinking, Maxine never once characterized her dead aunt as a humiliation. From her
narrative, Maxine overlooked her actions and commended her resilience. Although directly not stated
within the text, Maxine expanded the definition of what it meant to be a warrior and gave this insight
that her aunt can be characterized

My Consumption Of Soda By Coca Cola
I grew up in a home where nothing artificial was allowed, only organic and natural. If it came from a
garden or a field it usually made it to our table. We drank hot tea every day, there was never any
popcorn, pizza, or soda. I still remember the first time I had a slice of pizza and an ice cold glass of
Coca Cola in 1990. It was like a whole new world had opened up before me. I had fallen in love with
soda. I loved the sugary sweet stuff, with its carbonation dancing down your throat sip by sip. It was
heavenly. From that day on, no more hot tea, only soda all the way the colder the better. As the years
past my fondness of soda grew into an obsession. Somewhere in a twenty year span it became normal
for me to go to Walmart and buy 14 20 two liters of Coca Cola ever week and yes I did drink that
much soda every week.
My consumption of soda was so extreme that my friends and family regularly made fun of me for
having Coca Cola in my veins instead of blood and teasing me often by asking me if I wanted water to
thin it out some. It all came to ahead in the summer of 2010. I had just finished mowing the grass and
I was worn out and exhausted. I drank my soda with a lot of ice and started to feel even worse. That is
how my family found me on the couch, exhausted and white as a sheet. The only thing I could do was
look up at them, my limbs felt like lead. Both of my daughters, Jessica and Eileen, insisted I drink the
glass of water they had handed to me. My best friend, Trae,

Children Are Playing With A Child
While children are playing, who will a child prefer to play with, will a child interact more with a child
who is the same gender, but a different age or with a child who is the same age, but different gender. I
will also see how much a child will interact with another child who is the opposite gender and a
different age. That is, the research question I am trying to solve. This is important to know because the
more comfortable the child is with the other child they are playing with, the happier the child will be
and the children will socialize longer. My hypothesis is that the opposite sex children that are around
the same age will interact more than the same sex, but different age or the opposite sex opposite aged
children. This is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This theory was also made by Jean Piaget. During the interaction time, some elements from the
concrete operational stage were presented as well. The older children had an organized and rational
way of thinking, something the younger children did not present. This being another theory from
Piaget. Living in Rockville, Indiana, there is only one park available called Beechwood Park. It s a
large park with a pool, baseball/softball fields, a picnic area, a basketball court, and of course a
playground. The playground consists of many monkey bars, swing sets, slides, and other things to
climb on, such as a dinosaur, a play house, and a fire truck. The dinosaur and play house are basic
monkey bar type structures, but the fire truck offers many things like a balance beam, steering wheels,
and extra benches to take a team of firemen. However, finding a day that had the amount of children
my research consisted of was difficult. Finding a day with a birthday party or celebration was my only
hope. On one sunny Saturday afternoon, I drove by and noticed a birthday party being set up, so I
decided to stop and explain to the parents why I was sitting on a bench watching their children. The
weather couldn t have been better and with the sound of country music playing in the background the
observation was pretty peaceful.

While sitting in the park, I sat on a bench, in the middle of the playground and the grass area. There

EBSCOhost,
This source is valuable in which during its time it was a live interview with President Eisenhower,
which is firsthand political insight to political tensions with Russia and, most interesting, insight to
nuclear attitudes. In the source it reads as question to answer form rather than paragraphs which makes
it easy to follow and find notable information. The only downfall this still useful source is that it blurs
the topics about communism and nuclear weapons together. The Domino Theory Principle mostly
relates to Communism and how the Asian countries were turning towards communism. The relevant

It also discusses the new age of nuclear weapons being made my leaders with rebellious histories
rather than the U.S or Soviet Russia in the past. Using information about unstable leaders can be used
to say that America s past does not issue a reason that America need to disarm itself since we do not
have these qualities.

pp. 742 745.
This information immediately drew my attention because this was a general giving a speech in
Colorado, also he favored nuclear weapons as a way to deter war, this is from a war point of view
rather than a super political view, he also valued nuclear weapons. The only downfalls was that he was
quite emotional so it make my argument slightly more difficult in order to make it sound and factual.
But, some of the quotations in my essay will make it valuable.

Imagery And Symbolism In Paper Towns By John Green
It s a paper town. I mean look at it, Q: look at all these cul de sacs, those streets that turn in on
themselves, all the houses that were built to fall apart. All those paper people living in their paper
houses, burning the future to stay warm. (Green, 57)The novel Paper Towns , by John Green is about a
boy named Quentin Jacobson, who has spent a life time loving the magnificently adventurous Margo
Roth Spiegelman from afar, so when she cracks open a window into his life, he follows. I think a
major theme in the novel is seeing the truth in people, and knowing that our view or idea of a person
will never be enough to show all that a person really is. Also knowing that people change all the time,
and how we see or imagine them to be isn t ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The next two quotes are from Quentin and Margo s conversation, when he finally finds her after
months of looking for her. During their conversation about a story that Margo wrote about them, she
tells Quentin, The grass got me to you, helped me to imagine you as an actual person. But we re not
different sprouts from the same plant. I can t be you. You can t be me. You can imagine another well
but never quite perfectly, you know? (Green, 302)The Grass in the novel symbolises the
interconnection between people. Although each grass represents a different person, all grasses serve
the same purpose which is to interconnect an entire lawn. Using grass as a symbol helped to show
that, even though we re all humans, (grass), were not the same persons, we can t ever be or truly
understand another person using the ideas and imaginations we have about them, because these are not
enough to show who a person really is. The next example of symbolism that I ll be using to prove my
thesis represents both individuality and interconnection. This quote is also from Margo and Quentin s
conversation, but this time is a quote from Quentin, where he tells Margo, When did we see each other
face to face? Not until you saw into my cracks and I saw into yours. Before that we were just looking
at ideas of each other, like looking at your window shade but never seeing inside. But once the vessel
cracks the light can get in. The light can get out. (Green, 302) In this case the vessels symbolises a
combination of both individuality and interconnectedness, because each person is their own vessel,
and once they begin to crack, you get the sense of interconnectedness by being able to see inside each
other, but if the vessel doesn t crack, they stay in their individuality. Only once a person s outside shell
breaks, you can get to know them and see who they really are on the inside. But if it doesn t crack you

Life Coaching Misconceptions Essay
Common Misconceptions Of Life Coaching
By Christina Cordle
Oct 20, 2012
Life coaching has become the popular method of improving the lives of workers and ordinary
individuals. For years, it is used by numerous individuals to correct their problems, to achieve their
goals and to boost success.
It becomes a popular byword not only in communities, but companies as well because they believed of
the power of coaching to change lives and to obtain the desired goals they want. At present,
supervisors and managers no longer criticize their subordinates, but they coach them to motivate them.
What is life coaching?
It is a method wherein professional coaches work with clients to address specific personal problems,
personal projects, transitions, business successes, conditions in life and relationships. It is different
from mentoring, therapy, consulting and therapy because it focuses on the root cause of the problem.

What are these misconceptions?
Below are the common misconceptions about life coaching:
1. Life coaching is a therapy where individuals can rely on it for counseling and psychotherapy. In
reality, coaching is not therapy, but a method to help individuals achieve their goals.
2. It can fix problems of individuals. It is a misconception because coaching is just a tool and a
catalyst to help individuals find solutions to their own problems. It is not life coaching itself that
solved these problems, but it is the person involved who has the responsibility to address their actions.
3. It is comparable to mentoring that gives individuals advice. It is not similar to mentoring because it
does not give advice, but raises the awareness of individuals on their capability and capacity to solve
their problems and to achieve their

Benefits Of Small Town Living
Growing up in a very little town in Illinois was a lot different than growing up in Houston, Texas.
When I was in the fourth grade I found many things to have changed about my surroundings, I
currently lived in a place where, the people thought and acted differently. I know now reading about it
and understanding more that some of those changes were for the good and some were not. Small town
living has its advantages such as, very close friendships, close approximately to may things, and
friendly people. Looking back, I also realized that there were a lot of disadvantages such as lack of
transportation, affects of a poor education, no opportunities for growth, crime, no diversity, and low
paying jobs and housing. Now that I am older, and aware of the affects of living in a small town, I can
see how these many things affected my life and will continue affect it in the future. I grew up, the
majority of my live, in a town in central Illinois, Kincaid, or better known as South Fork because of
the co op with the schools around us in sports. This town is approximately 20 miles southeast of
Springfield, and is only seven miles west from the nearest town, with many opportunities that my
town did not offer (City data).
With a total population of 1,495, including the town of Tovey about a mile away, as of July 1, 2015
Kincaid is ranked as number 587 of 1,367 as being a small town in Illinois (Kincaid, IL). Kincaid is

The Tort Of Intentional Interference With Economic Relations
Business 4000 003
Group Assignment #3 (A.I. v. Bram)
1. According to the SCC, what are the elements of the tort of intentional interference with economic
relations? (1 mark)
The two core components of the unlawful means tort are that the defendant must use unlawful means
to interfere with a trade or business, and that the defendant must intend to harm the plaintiff through
the use of unlawful means. The tort creates parasitic liability in a three party situation, meaning the
plaintiff can sue for their economic loss due to the unlawful acts.
2. Why was Bram Enterprises Ltd. and Jamb Enterprises Ltd. s (hereinafter the Plaintiffs ) claim for
intentional interference with economic relations unsuccessful? (1 mark)
In this case, the judge ruled that the defendant s actions were not unlawful and therefore the action did
not meet the requirements for the intentional interference with economic relations tort. The main issue
was that the scope of liability for the unlawful means tort and in particular what was meant by the
unlawfulness requirement . The Supreme Court accepted the court of appeal s conclusion that there
was no wrong and that would be actionable by the third parties against the appellants. As a result, it
held that the appellants could not be found liable to Bram and Jamb on the basis of the unlawful
means tort and rejected the court of appeal s application of any exceptions to the scope of liability for
the unlawful means tort. However, the Supreme

Settings: Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University, Egypt.
Purpose: To analyze the influence of various surgical factors on the post operative corneal refractive
power and astigmatism after keratoplasty in eyes with corneal diseases.
Methods: Retrospective study of 100 eyes with clear grafts six months following keratoplasty, the
influence of different surgical factors (technique of keratoplasty, type of suturing, size of trephination)
on the post operative corneal refractive power and astigmatism was analyzed. All included patients
signed an informed consent.
Results: Around 70% of the cases of the four subgroups had keratoconus. The flattest 6 months
postoperative keratometric readings was the penetrating keratoplasty (PK) with interrupted sutures
subgroup with mean 43.90 + 3.09 D. The steepest was the deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK)
with double running sutures subgroup with mean 45.30 + 1.70 D. The highest 6 months postoperative
astigmatism was the PK with interrupted sutures subgroup with mean 7.15 + 1.95 D. The lowest was
the PK with double running sutures subgroup with mean 2.36 + 1.15 D.
Conclusion: Interrupted sutures resulted in significantly higher postoperative astigmatism in both PK
and DALK before suture removal.

Marie de France s Lanval : A New Model for Gender Roles in the Medieval Romance Genre
Historically, Medieval women had little agency or control over their lives. Parents arranged marriages
for political alliances and while the romantic compatibility of the engaged couple was almost never
considered, Medieval society often prioritized men s sexual preferences. Marie de France comments
on women s lack of agency and the unfulfilling nature of these marital alliances in her unconventional

flaws within the Medieval ideal of courtly romance. In particular, Marie de France s Fairy Queen

In order to fully comprehend the subversive female subject, it is imperative to explore how Lanval s
failure to fit the romantic hero archetype renders him more conventionally feminine. Despite his noble
lineage and inherent bravery that aligns him with Medieval models of knighthood, the narrator places
more emphasis on Lanval s defects and insufficiencies. In particular, Lanval is so unmemorable that
King Arthur forgets to financially support Lanval:
Women and land / He shared out with generous hand / To all but one who d served. Lanval heOrme 2

(and later the Fairy Queen) liken him to an unmarried womanอพ he is reliant on powerful alliances for
monetary support and validation of status. In fact, Marie de France paints Lanval as quite pitiable and
without the capability to independently solve his hopeless situation. He is so morose that he
relinquishes his horse, his last financial asset and visible sign of status, to wander the forest and think
of his sad plight, He saw nothing to bring delight (Marie de France).

Christianity s Influence On Sexuality And Gender
To conclude this course I have chosen to write my final research paper on Christianity s influence on
sexuality and gender. I will provide scholarly information and accounts for how Christianity has
shaped our sexual behaviour as well as differing roles for males and females. From past to present the
influence of Christianity has affected us worldwide; this paper presents real world examples of how
Christianity has come into play with our culture, and what we can learn by how it has affected people
s identities. My first source entitled Christianity and Sexuality in the Early Modern World: Regulating
Desire by Merry Wiesner Hank is useful for presenting an account of how sexuality and gender was
discussed in Christianity s New Testament bible. In the letters of Paul to Jesus, Paul warned against
those who opposed marriage, and also suggested that widows and widowers do not remarry. Along
with discussing acceptable and unacceptable sexual activities, the letters of Paul introduce a gendered
and sexualized metaphor for the Christian community: the bridge of Christ. Human marriage is
equated with the union between Christ and church; husbands are admonished to love their wives as
Christ loved the church; and wives to be subject to their husbands as the church is subject to Christ
(Ephesians 5:21 33) (Wiesner Hank, 27). This quote presented is very important it provides a clear
illustration of the difference in expectations from the different genders in marriage under the

Morality In International Relations
International relations have always been a very important topic. Knowing and understanding the
history of international relations is vital to learning how it has evolved and how we can handle it today
and in the future. However today our historical egoism, or the idea that we believe we are better and
more advanced than those in the past can blind us. In reality, history is a bit more complicated. We
often ask if it is a never ending march of progress or one conflict after another? The best we can do is
learn and try to create a better future. With that said, we will be looking at two important factors in
international relations: power and morals. It has been a widely debated issue whether it is better to use
power or morals in international relations. Some argue that power is the answer to international
relations, and others believe that morals are the answer. In the end, several theories, authors, and
examples can lead us closer to the aptness of international relations.
To begin with, many have argued that power is what maintains a balance between nations and what
can also lead to war. First, let s look at two major powers in the world: Europe and United States.
Their international relation structures are very different. America is more realist than Europe in the
way they use, desire, and view power. Europe s perspective is more diplomatic and sophisticated.
Europe tends to turn away from power and focuses on a creating laws and rules that world should
follow. When an

My Experience At High School
My mom and I were driving home from my club volleyball practice when I broke down in tears due to
stress. High school class registration was coming up and I still had no idea whether or not I wanted to

have to make such a colossal decision that would affect my life forever. I only had 2 more days to
decide how I would present myself in the new world of high school popularity, and I had no idea
whether I would choose the life of athletics or musical talents. My first instinct wanted to have the
best of both worlds. Maybe in the fall I could be part of the volleyball team and in the spring I could
pick up band and be involved in both organizations. I would be able to play the sport I loved and get
to know the volleyball girls and then in the spring reconnect with my band friends while playing hard
music and getting to know the band program in that way. In my heart I knew this was not going to
happen, there was no way that I could have both athletics and band in my schedule, nor could I truly
be happy with this decision. I would miss out on the best part of band, the marching and athletic part,
and spring for volleyball is the time when the team bonds the most because of the awful hell of off

Light
Increased photoperiod is associated with increased growth rate which demands more Ca2+.
Imbalances of Ca2+supply during high photoperiod renders the plant vulnerable to Ca2+ deficiency
disorders. Shading reduced the incidence of BER in tomato possibly by cut off of high light intensities
which promoted BER through accelerated fruit growth (Ho and White 2005a). Higher fruit growth
rate renders fruit to BER susceptibility through diluting fruit Ca2+ (Bertin et al. 2000; DeKock,
Inkson, and Hall 1982; Wui and Takano 1995). High light may reduce RH that causes the fruits
susceptible to Ca2+ related disorders (Adams and Ho 1993). Shading may delay the incidence of BER

RZT below 14 ยฐC or above 26 ยฐC has shown to reduce Ca2+ uptake (Adams and Ho, 1993; Ho, 1999).
Irrigation
Maintaining of optimum soil moisture levels neither too dry nor too wet can ensure consistent
movement of Ca from soil to plant which might be helpful to reduce incidence of Ca2+ deficiency
disorders in plants. Tomato BER was increased with dryness of substrate (Adams and Holder 1992)
though high soil moisture levels (20 kPa tension) showed rapid incidence of tip burn than low
moisture (200 kPa tension) in lettuce (Bert and Honma 1975). Fennel tip burn was decreased with
irrigation (van Wijk and van den Broek 1997) level. Temporary drought can cause severe tip burn in
vegetables (Saure 1998). Methods of irrigation also influence incidence of Ca2+ deficiency disorders.
Sprinkler irrigation effectively reduced tip burn of lettuce leaf through increasing Ca supply(Jiande,
Wenqiang, and Mingshan 2006; Obispo 1997). Irrigation reduced tip burn by 23% compared to
control (no irrigation, rain only) (Cox and Dearman 1981). In this proposal, BER incidence of bell

Partition Action Research Paper
d. The Parties to a Partition Action
The parties that must be included in a petition to partition are every joint tenant or tenant in common
who holds an interest in the property, and their spouses. Life tenants, judgment creditors, mortgage
holders, and other lien creditors should also be brought into the proceeding, even though they are not
required parties.
A life tenant in the property may join in the partition proceeding and upon a partition sale will receive
the fair market value of his or her interest. This sum will be paid either in an annual amount or a lump
sum paid out of the proceeds, based on a value of the share of interest in the land calculated in relation
to his or her estimated life expectancy.
Joint tenants or tenants in common may still obtain partition, in kind or by sale, even with the
existence of a lien. If an actual partition is successful, any existing liens will follow the share allocated
to the co tenant who is the debtor and the other tenants will be able to hold their interest
unencumbered by the previously applied liens. If the partition occurs by forced judicial sale then the
purchaser will take the property subject to the liens. The better practice is to make creditors,
mortgagees, or lien holders a party to the petition proceeding so that upon sale of the land the liens

Nursing Professional Portfolios Portfolios have been used to showcase the work of artists, fashion designers, models, photographers and architects, spanning several decades (M.Williams., K.Jordan., 2007) These career portfolios have been adopted in to the nursing profession where they serve as an augmentation but not a replacement of their curriculum vitae (Lettus, 2001). They have not only transcended beyond the traditional listing of basic information such as relevant past work experiences and positions held, educational institutions attended and achievements but provide additional information that resumes would have presented (M.J. Jone., 2007). A professional portfolio is a thoughtfully prepared and organised compilation of different types of professional information and evidence that illustrate an individual s record of continuing professional development activities, skills, experiences, knowledge, competencies, professional achievements and goals as well as their level of expertise that one has attained as a result of their experiences. • 4. Indonesi A Model For Democracy From being ruled by an authoritative government, Indonesia now has become a model for democracy in Asia. Over the years, Indonesia has slowly made the transition to democracy. Its new presidential election is clear evidence of this transition because the Indonesians chose to elect a common man to be the president: an official who they thought would understand their struggles. Within 15 years, Indonesia has transitioned from a bureaucratic authoritarian regime to a formal presidentialism. The newly elected president has already taken steps toward implementing his reforms which consists of pushing to cut down fuel subsidies, getting rid of corruption and encouraging new businesses to invest in Indonesia by giving them tax incentives. These are clear signs that consolidated liberal democracy in Indonesia has already taken place and that Indonesia will continue to be a democratic country in the future. Historians study history because they find it interesting and want to keep a thorough record of events. However, political scientists study history in order to theorize and predict what caused certain events and how history will have an impact on the future. One of the most important theories in political science is Lipset s modernization theory. The first part of the theory states as societies become more modern, they inevitably become more democratic. The second part of this theory is that democracies lacking economic and cultural status tend not to last. Modernization only aids ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Troubled Souls Of Burdened Authors In The Late Eighteenth The troubled souls of burdened authors in the late eighteenth through late nineteenth century permitted Romanticism to be recognized as the different development that characterized disaster and sentimentalism as the justification for delightful motivation. • 6. The Hollow Men Stylistics 1. Introduction This paper deals with a stylistic analysis of Eliot s poem The Hollow Men . What are the stylistic featuresexploited by Eliot to make his poem more expressive is the main problem that this study tries to investigate. It aims to explore ways in which language use has been integrated in the selected poems. It is also aimed at analyzing some of the distinctive features that give the selected poem their identity. To fulfill the aim of the study, it hypothesizes that Eliot exploits certain linguistic deviations as an essential way to make his poem more expressive. So as to examine the proposed hypothesis, certain representative examples have been chosen from the poem for the sake of analysis. Some stylistic features are investigated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We normally study style because we want to explain something, and in general, literary stylistics has the goal of explaining the relation between language and artistic function (Leech and Short, 1981: 13).Short and Candlin (1989: 183) view stylistics as a linguistic approach to the study of the literary texts. It thus embodies one essential part of the general course; that of combining language and literary study. Stylistics, the study of the devices in languages such as rhetorical figures and syntactical patterns that are considered to produce expressive or literary style. Haynes (1989: 3) refers to style as the manner of expression which is different in various contexts. It is defined depending on one s field of study.Style as deviation from the norm, Language is a behavior governed by rules and norms. When something is done in a quite different way from how it is usually done, then that is said to be a deviation from the norm. • 7. A Biphasic Compound Action Potential DISCUSSION Biphasic CAP. For the recording of a biphasic compound action potential, both the positive and negative recording electrodes were used, with the negative recording electrode at position D and the positive recording electrode at position E (refer to Figure 1). The extracellular bipolar recording takes the difference between what the negative electrode picked up and what the positive electrode picked up. The first, positive deflection of the CAP was caused by the extracellular negative charge of the action potential recorded by the negative electrode subtracted from the positive resting charge at the positive electrode a positive value minus a negative value yields a positive value, hence the positive, upward deflection of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The compound action potential adds up all the action potentials that each individual neuron experiences in the sciatic nerve. Different stimulus amplitudes cause different neurons to fire an action potential; this is due to the fact that each neuron has a different threshold potential, or the minimum voltage the neuron needs to fire an action potential. The individual neuron action potential is an all or nothing event, but the CAP, as a summation of different individual neurons, is not. The CAP amplitude will increase with larger stimulus potentials because more neurons with higher individual thresholds will be recruited. For this frog sciatic nerve, there are three fiber types, A, B, and C. A fibers are further divided, in the order of decreasing diameter, into ฮฑ, ฮฒ, ฮณ, and ฮด fibers. There is an inverse relationship between the diameter of the nerve fiber and the threshold potential: the larger the diameter, the lower the threshold. Thus, as the largest fibers, the Aฮฑ neurons will be the first to be stimulated at a low stimulus potential, and the Aฮด neuron fibers will be the last to be recruited. Because the sciatic nerve is mostly composed of A fibers, the recruitment of A subtype nerve fibers are more readily distinguishable from the data. The minimum potential required to stimulate the Aฮฑ fibers was between 75 mV and 80 mV. Once the stimulus potential reached 90 mV, Aฮฒ neurons were recruited and contributed to the increase in amplitude of the CAP. At a stimulus ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

James Russell Lowell successfully defined democracy when it is in its truest form; a citizen s beliefs should be equally represented and considered for. The representative democracy instated in the United States presents the need for three branches in the government; they include the executive, legislative, and judicial branch. The Congress embodies the lawmaking branch of the government, having all legislative powers as it is stated in Article I of the Constitution. They must have the bills checked by both bodies as well as the president and if they disapprove, a veto can be placed. Another similarity is that both the House and the Senate are also elected by the people. Although they have some comparisons in the way the House is set up and the tasks they have to do, there are many distinctions. The House of Representatives contains more than four times the amount of Senators and serves two year terms compared to a Senator s six year term. Senators also have to be at least thirty years of age with nine years of citizenship while the House sets a twenty five year old minimum with seven years of citizenship (Harrison 408). While the House is led by the Speaker of the House, John Boehner, the Senate is led by the Vice President, who is currently Joe Biden. With 435 members in the House, the House of Representatives is known to be the body that symbolizes the citizens of America. It was intended that the House adhered to the beliefs of the people more than the Senate did, making the House of Representatives a bit more democratic. Senators are voted to represent the beliefs of a whole state; while on the other hand, members of House represent groups of citizens in specific districts of states. Too often politicians have use this Ministry to win over voters in the large urban centres by making policies that are considered green and trendy. But we re not different sprouts from the same plant. I can t be you. You can t be me. You can imagine another well but never quite perfectly, you know? (Green, 302)The Grass in the novel symbolises the interconnection between people. Although each grass represents a different person, all grasses serve the same purpose which is to interconnect an entire lawn. Using grass as a symbol helped to show that, even though we re all humans, (grass), were not the same persons, we can t ever be or truly understand another person using the ideas and imaginations we have about them, because these are not enough to show who a person really is. The next example of symbolism that I ll be using to prove my thesis represents both individuality and interconnection. This quote is also from Margo and Quentin s conversation, but this time is a quote from Quentin, where he tells Margo, When did we see each other face to face? Not until you saw into my cracks and I saw into yours. Before that we were just looking at ideas of each other, like looking at your window shade but never seeing inside. But once the vessel cracks the light can get in. The light can get out. (Green, 302) In this case the vessels symbolises a combination of both individuality and interconnectedness, because each person is their own vessel, and once they begin to crack, you get the sense of interconnectedness by being able to see inside each other, but if the vessel doesn t crack, they stay in their individuality. Only once a person s outside shell breaks, you can get to know them and see who they really are on the inside. But if it doesn t crack you ll ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Lanval s strong financial dependence on the king (and later the Fairy Queen) liken him to an unmarried womanอพ he is reliant on powerful alliances for monetary support and validation of status. In fact, Marie de France paints Lanval as quite pitiable and without the capability to independently solve his hopeless situation. He is so morose that he relinquishes his horse, his last financial asset and visible sign of status, to wander the forest and think of his sad plight, He saw nothing to bring delight (Marie de France). ... • 34. Christianity s Influence On Sexuality And Gender To conclude this course I have chosen to write my final research paper on Christianity s influence on sexuality and gender. I will provide scholarly information and accounts for how Christianity has shaped our sexual behaviour as well as differing roles for males and females. From past to present the influence of Christianity has affected us worldwide; this paper presents real world examples of how Christianity has come into play with our culture, and what we can learn by how it has affected people s identities. My first source entitled Christianity and Sexuality in the Early Modern World: Regulating Desire by Merry Wiesner Hank is useful for presenting an account of how sexuality and gender was discussed in Christianity s New Testament bible. In the letters of Paul to Jesus, Paul warned against those who opposed marriage, and also suggested that widows and widowers do not remarry. Along with discussing acceptable and unacceptable sexual activities, the letters of Paul introduce a gendered and sexualized metaphor for the Christian community: the bridge of Christ. Human marriage is equated with the union between Christ and church; husbands are admonished to love their wives as Christ loved the church; and wives to be subject to their husbands as the church is subject to Christ (Ephesians 5:21 33) (Wiesner Hank, 27). This quote presented is very important it provides a clear illustration of the difference in expectations from the different genders in marriage under the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Analyzing Erikson s Psychosocial Stages Of Human Development Erik Erikson s theory of psychosocial stages, is considered a significant concrete basis for understanding human progression and development (Arnold, 2016) This essay will identify two characters lifespan development stages from Erik Erickson s theory, and further explain the relevance of the identified stages in accordance with the communication used between the pair. From this communication further identifying and describing meta communication factors that influenced the interpretation of the effective communication. Because both characters are at two various stages they both communicate different. Sean for example is displaying negative factors of communication and this is resulting from his psychosocial behaviour. This presenting stage of Sean entails communication that is immature and appropriate for a small child having a tantrum, arguing with the doctor on what he thinks his best interests are, He does not have the correct decision making tools to communicate efficiently for theoretical development stage. Sean s communication is aggressive, hostile and destructive. he is undeveloped and naive arguing with the doctor on what his welfare should involve. • 37. Morality In International Relations International relations have always been a very important topic. Knowing and understanding the history of international relations is vital to learning how it has evolved and how we can handle it today and in the future. However today our historical egoism, or the idea that we believe we are better and more advanced than those in the past can blind us. In reality, history is a bit more complicated. We often ask if it is a never ending march of progress or one conflict after another? The best we can do is learn and try to create a better future. With that said, we will be looking at two important factors in international relations: power and morals. It has been a widely debated issue whether it is better to use power or morals in international relations. Some argue that power is the answer to international relations, and others believe that morals are the answer. In the end, several theories, authors, and examples can lead us closer to the aptness of international relations. To begin with, many have argued that power is what maintains a balance between nations and what can also lead to war. First, let s look at two major powers in the world: Europe and United States. Their international relation structures are very different. America is more realist than Europe in the way they use, desire, and view power. Europe s perspective is more diplomatic and sophisticated. Europe tends to turn away from power and focuses on a creating laws and rules that world should follow. When an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. My Experience At High School My mom and I were driving home from my club volleyball practice when I broke down in tears due to stress. High school class registration was coming up and I still had no idea whether or not I wanted to do band or volleyball in high school. Being a 14 year old in 8th grade, I never thought that I would have to make such a colossal decision that would affect my life forever. I only had 2 more days to decide how I would present myself in the new world of high school popularity, and I had no idea whether I would choose the life of athletics or musical talents. My first instinct wanted to have the best of both worlds. Maybe in the fall I could be part of the volleyball team and in the spring I could pick up band and be involved in both organizations. I would be able to play the sport I loved and get to know the volleyball girls and then in the spring reconnect with my band friends while playing hard music and getting to know the band program in that way. In my heart I knew this was not going to happen, there was no way that I could have both athletics and band in my schedule, nor could I truly be happy with this decision. I would miss out on the best part of band, the marching and athletic part, and spring for volleyball is the time when the team bonds the most because of the awful hell of off season. I just couldn t pick this option, no matter how much I craved to have both volleyball and band in my life together. For the majority of 8th grade I had my heart set on playing ... • 39. Essay On Photoperiob Light Increased photoperiod is associated with increased growth rate which demands more Ca2+. Imbalances of Ca2+supply during high photoperiod renders the plant vulnerable to Ca2+ deficiency disorders. Shading reduced the incidence of BER in tomato possibly by cut off of high light intensities which promoted BER through accelerated fruit growth (Ho and White 2005a). Higher fruit growth rate renders fruit to BER susceptibility through diluting fruit Ca2+ (Bertin et al. 2000; DeKock, Inkson, and Hall 1982; Wui and Takano 1995). High light may reduce RH that causes the fruits susceptible to Ca2+ related disorders (Adams and Ho 1993). Shading may delay the incidence of BER by reducing its appearance. Both of light intensity and duration can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... RZT below 14 ยฐC or above 26 ยฐC has shown to reduce Ca2+ uptake (Adams and Ho, 1993; Ho, 1999). Irrigation Maintaining of optimum soil moisture levels neither too dry nor too wet can ensure consistent movement of Ca from soil to plant which might be helpful to reduce incidence of Ca2+ deficiency disorders in plants. Tomato BER was increased with dryness of substrate (Adams and Holder 1992) though high soil moisture levels (20 kPa tension) showed rapid incidence of tip burn than low moisture (200 kPa tension) in lettuce (Bert and Honma 1975). Fennel tip burn was decreased with irrigation (van Wijk and van den Broek 1997) level. Temporary drought can cause severe tip burn in vegetables (Saure 1998). Methods of irrigation also influence incidence of Ca2+ deficiency disorders. Sprinkler irrigation effectively reduced tip burn of lettuce leaf through increasing Ca supply(Jiande, Wenqiang, and Mingshan 2006; Obispo 1997). Irrigation reduced tip burn by 23% compared to control (no irrigation, rain only) (Cox and Dearman 1981). In this proposal, BER incidence of bell pepper as affected by Ca2+ fertilizer, irrigation rate and shade net will be investigated. RH Relative humidity can influence Ca2+ movement within plant through altering rate of transpiration. As Ca2+ moves into and through the plant with the flow of transpiration, high RH that depressed the rate of transpiration may restrict the movement of Ca2+ though ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Partition Action Research Paper d. The Parties to a Partition Action The parties that must be included in a petition to partition are every joint tenant or tenant in common who holds an interest in the property, and their spouses. Life tenants, judgment creditors, mortgage holders, and other lien creditors should also be brought into the proceeding, even though they are not required parties. A life tenant in the property may join in the partition proceeding and upon a partition sale will receive the fair market value of his or her interest. This sum will be paid either in an annual amount or a lump sum paid out of the proceeds, based on a value of the share of interest in the land calculated in relation to his or her estimated life expectancy. Joint tenants or tenants in common may still obtain partition, in kind or by sale, even with the existence of a lien. If an actual partition is successful, any existing liens will follow the share allocated to the co tenant who is the debtor and the other tenants will be able to hold their interest unencumbered by the previously applied liens. If the partition occurs by forced judicial sale then the purchaser will take the property subject to the liens. The better practice is to make creditors, mortgagees, or lien holders a party to the petition proceeding so that upon sale of the land the liens will be extinguished and satisfied ...
